I used to make her do flips and swan dives and play around with her outfits (most relevant in Anniversary and Legend). She was so so cool. I'm not as big a fan of the reboot Lara, other than they made her queer, but :)

Anna the Huntress from Dead by Daylight

My wife. The game lore did her kinda dirty, but that's what headcanon is for. She's a big strong tall Russian lady who lives in the woods and hunts people. She kidnaps little girls from villages so she can take care of them in her little cabin and give them toys. She kills nazis. She sings. I'm so, so in love with her.

Ellen Ripley from the Alien series

Sigourney Weaver in general... but Ripley in particular. Brave, adaptable, intelligent. A girlboss if there ever was one. She's one of my favorite Final Girls (topped only by Nancy from the original Nightmare on Elm Street). Everything Ripley ever says is 100% correct and for some reason nobody wants to listen to her.

Leia Organa from Star Wars

A princess. A general. A rebel leader. And a badass bitch. Leia was one of the earliest examples of a good, strong-willed and fearless female character I had as a kid. Even if she needs rescue from time to time, she does plenty of rescuing others herself. She takes no guff from scoundrels like Han Solo or fascists like Grand Moff Tarkin. Her parents would be so, so proud of her.

Nani Pelekai from Lilo and Stitch

The relationship between Nani and her little sister Lilo reminded me a lot of my mom and me. And it takes a lot to raise a little kid on your own (especially one that is a little special needs like me and Lilo both were), working a crappy job, having no time for a social life, and having to fight against Child Protective Services. Being poor + indigenous + a broken family fucking sucks. But Nani held it together, just like my mom did. I can't forget a character like that.

Would the real Dr McKay please stand up?

While this is a record of John Sheppard's bisexuality, let's start from the beginning.

Rodney McKay was introduced in the main series, Stargate SG-1. In it, he is presented as a sexist and abrasive character who is later revealed to harbour a hurt little boy within. He claims to have a predilection for "dumb blondes", which is to say, beautiful and brilliant women way out of his league.

He aggressively, blatantly hits on Samantha Carter. In fact, his behaviour is so over-the-top that one has to wonder whether it is (consciously or subconsciously) designed for failure. Hitting on women you know will turn you down, in a way that will inevitably lead to them turning you down, both protects one's ego and keeps one from winding up in an actual relationship with an actual human being.

That is, for reasons of inadequacy, poor self-esteem, repressed homosexuality, pick your poison, he a) approaches only women he knows he can't get, b) approaches them in a sleazy over-the-top way that will inevitably lead to him being turned down and c) he does all of this extremely publicly, not hiding and in fact encouraging his reputation was a womanizer. A+, very heterosexual.

Only, this is lampshaded in the two-part 8th season finale of SG-1, Moebius.

In the episode we are once more presented with an alternative reality. This is a divergence from our reality whose main difference is that the stargate was never found at Giza. In the episode, we follow Samantha Carter and Daniel Jackson who are essentially themselves but whose lives took different courses. That is, their characters were not changed, only their circumstances. And it follows that the same is true for all the other characters.

In this reality, Dr. Rodney McKay is the lead scientist at Cheyenne Mountain. The fact that he is similar to the Rodney in our reality is lampshaded later in the second part of the episode where McKay tells Gen. Hammond: "It's a ship that goes through the Gate -- it's a Gateship!"

This parallels his words in Rising (S01E01) where he says the same thing to Dr. Weir, defending his naming of the shuttle as Gateship: "It's a ship; it goes through the Gate, I, I… Fine -- Puddle Jumper, you are clear for launch."

We are meant to understand that this is the same Rodney, only that circumstances have altered the course of his life.

Why is this important?

His introduction in the episode is curious.

At the end of Moebius, we are shown a rare kiss between Carter and O'Neill who never get to consummate their unresolved sexual tension in the main text of the show. The kiss was preceded by Carter lying to O'Neill about his attraction to Daniel Jackson instead of O'Neill. Earlier on, O'Neill had wondered whether Carter and Jackson were in fact a couple -- which they both vehemently denied. Before their kiss, O'Neill tells Carter: "It's just, you know… first impressions, I kinda thought he was… Never mind."

He waves his hand in the universal sign for "bent".

Jack O'Neill thought that Daniel Jackson was, upon first impression, a gay man. Even though he met him along with an attractive woman, the first impression one got from Daniel Jackson was that he was a gay man. This has nothing to do with what Daniel's orientation is or was, in this reality or the other, just that in this one he gave off the vibe that he was gay. At least on initial meeting, an impression that might later be rectified, Daniel Jackson came off as a gay man.

So why does this matter?

When we first meet Dr. Rodney McKay, it is also the first time he meets Daniel Jackson. He gets, that is, a first impression of Daniel. Rodney barges in with the very suggestive: "Don't touch anything, please! Leave the touching to the experts."

McKay looks at Daniel from top to bottom, openly checking him out, gaze lingering on Daniel's dick. After this, he looks at Major Davis. To confirm the reading of his gaydar? To check whether the major noticed him checking the guy out? Acknowledging the hot officer in his personal space? Who can tell!

Turning his attention to Sam, McKay subsequently completely ignores Jackson to the point of rudeness.

Note that Major Davis is, in this reality, sporting the gayest moustache that ever moustached. He is ripped straight out of a Village People album cover. If we are meant to think that Daniel in this reality comes across as gay, what are we supposed to think regarding the man with the gayest moustache this side of Tom of Finland?

After McKay checks out Daniel, whose first impression is that he is a gay man, Rodney quickly glances at major Davis and then his entire demeanor changes. He is very curt towards the major. They continue their exchange, Rodney antagonistic toward Jackson and now aggressively hitting on Sam, even going so far as to obviously and crassly grab her ass:

McKay: I'm sorry -- what are your areas of expertise? Carter: Astrophysics. Jackson: Archaeology. McKay: And I would listen to you because…? Carter: We're on the tape. McKay: Now you -- you I would listen to if you were reading the phone book. You see, I love this whole sexy librarian thing. Look, why don't I take you to lunch, get you up to speed.

On his initial meeting with Daniel Jackson, the man who comes off as gay, Dr. Rodney McKay reflexively checks him out and then starts immediately performing the most odious kind of heteronormative masculinity

We get another lampshade in his line to Carter: "I hear it's lemon chicken today -- it's my favourite, hmm?" This Rodney claims openly to like Lemon chicken which he is allergic to in our reality. There is something else he is performing here that he is allergic to in our reality: his preference for chicks.

In the Pegasus galaxy, McKay is either completely oblivious to the advances of women ("You don't know what to do?"), engages in performative over-the-top womanizing ("I disgust myself sometimes"), or uses women to perform masculinity and to make himself seem more desirable to other men ("They think I'm a shut-in. So I was thinking that if I was to, say, show up with a woman -- a beautiful woman -- that they would maybe not think that I was like, a complete loser"). He expresses jealousy when other men receive attention from beautiful women while seeming to have no interest whatsoever in these women themselves. Hot women are objects to him, he barely sees them as people (literally, in The Game).

This is textbook. This is a closet so deep in Narnia the audience gets second-hand frost bite.

Note that while in Moebius we are shown a superficial difference between this Rodney and our Rodney with regards to lemon, later on we are shown that they are essentially the same. The Rodney McKay of this reality is the epitome of a closeted gay man performing over-the-top heterosexuality in a military environment where, although as a Canadian civilian contractor he is not himself in jeopardy, he has to protect the identities of gay soldiers, like major Davis, whose careers are on the line.

Oblivious or not, Rodney McKay does not like women. He does not respect them, sees little use for them, can barely tolerate to have them around. This much seems to be true of him in every reality.

She's travelling to different worlds with her team, nerding out when she discovers new science stuff, absolutely loves her friends, does what she can to help others. Once there was this girl who was an experiment of a bad guy and there was a possibility that she would explode, and when that moment was nearing Sam refused the order to leave her and she stayed with her. (The girl didn't explode in the end, btw)

Stargate SG-1: Daniel Jackson, Samantha Carter, Jack O'Neil WordCount: 852 T(W): Blood/Injury, Unconsciousness, Ambush, Blackouts Requested: Yes "So a Daniel Jackson x reader where Daniel has feelings for the reader and the reader likes him too but on a mission the reader gets hurt and while their injuries look life threatening they really aren’t but reader and Daniel don’t know. This makes for a very intense moment where they confess to each other right before reader loses consciousness and they get rescued. Then cut to reader waking up to a very stressed out Daniel but who is relieved. Essentially I need some Daniel fluff where there’s kisses and love after slight anxiety 😅 female aligned reader preferred but not required lol thanks love." - Anon A/N: I completely misread the request and had to do an addition ^^;;. It initially ended on the 'reader registered what was finally said moment and then had to add, apologies if it seems disjointed.

You couldn't believe you had missed it. Hadn't seen it coming. You had gone through all the training, read all the files. You couldn't believe that it had happened, it was your 4th away mission with the SG-1 team and you had already messed up. You couldn't control the pain radiating from your side, you had thrown yourself down behind a rock formation next to Carter pretty hard and that distracted you from the pain for a hot second. You leaned in tight against the formation, doing your damnedest to ignore the radiating pain shooting through your body. You were taking fire and waiting for an opening to retaliate and head for the gate. You covered Carter while she moved for a better position, allowing Daniel to move in closer to you covering his head as you returned fire and moving his head closer to you as you ducked back behind the formation. You had the back of your head to Daniel as you were attempting to peek around the rocks and look for a gap or someone to create a gap. Looking for O'Neil to give some form of sign or instruction as to what to do.

It wasn't looking good for the team. You were all pinned down in your respective positions trapped, yet so close to the gate, you couldn't get to the DHD safely or for long enough without being hit, thus your side injury. You grimaced against the pain, the noise. You could feel yourself being overwhelmed by the noise, the shouting, the static coming through your coms, the pain in your side. Everything was becoming too much, you hadn't realised you had began to slouch until you felt Daniel pull you back by your vest and ensure you weren't too visible around the formation you were both using as cover. You vaguely heard O'Neil's voice crackle through the com system asking what the hell happened, as he had seen you slouching. You barely heard Daniel's response, but you were sure you had heard '…been hit…bleed…side" why was it so hard to focus. The pain in your side got worse as Daniel had grabbed a pack of gauze from the field kit in your bag and began to pack your wound. You could hear the stargate engage and the sound of Stargate Command come over the comms, letting you know that reinforcements would be arriving through shortly. Then blackness.

You slightly came round as you felt the coldness of being dragged through the stargate. When you felt the warmth of the command centre you relaxed slightly, felt yourself be lifted onto a portable medical bed and the pull of a hand reluctant to let you. You were out again before you could register who it belonged to. Next time you were conscious about the world around you (even if you couldn't open your eyes to it) was in the medbay where you could hear the team speaking around you, that same hand grasping yours, You felt the tickle of hair on your forehead as something soft, so soft you barely registered it, grazed the side of your ear. You squeezed the hand in response, your body was reacting to what you couldn't or hadn't yet registered, and you felt the airy laugh of relief from the one person you recognise so well. You could feel yourself being wheeled away with some urgency, the beeps growing louder, more consistent as it became harder to breathe. Just as you felt darkness take hold, your conscious mind caught up with your subconscious as you finally realised what was whispered into your ear by Daniel. "Please, squeeze my hand to let me know you feel the same and that you'll pull through for us to have a chance…"

When you finally came to, you found Col. O'Neil asleep in one of the chairs twitching like a puppy does in its sleep, could hear Teal'c and Sam vaguely speaking with Doc Fraser and Hammond out of sight elsewhere in the room, and finally, Daniel pacing back and forth, biting his nails, trying to dispel some of the anxiety induced adrenaline which was currently coursing through his entire body.. You wondered how long everyone had been there. Had they not gone out on assignment since you had been dragged unconscious through the stargate? Had they been here in the medbay? You groaned slightly as you tried to move immediately grasping the attention of Daniel and making Jack jump slightly in his sleep before he readjusted and settled again. Daniel practically pounced to your side, giving your closest hand a gentle squeeze before helping you to sit up and adjusting your pillows. You smiled at each other and when Daniel's face was close enough to yours, he whispered "I'm so glad you're okay," you both leaned in and kissed one another. It was soft. It was warm. It was everything you imagined it would be. It was also interrupted with a throat clear from Jack, a witty remark, and an almost 6 foot jump from Daniel who had clearly forgotten the Colonel was there.
