Agatha halts, and Wanda comes to a less than graceful stop, by slamming her face into Agatha’s back.

Rather than make a comment, about how Wanda literally almost fell for her, Agatha whips around to face her.

Everyone already accepted that there's not exit and are no longer bothered by it apparently, despite Kinger being kind of crazy he still understands and accepts the digital world, Gangle is fucking depressed but that probably isn't JUST because of the circus, she also just seems to be used to it, Jax coped by being a sarcastic, smug and sassy asshole (The three s's), he has also accepted there's no exit, Zooble can't be bothered as well, they just don't want to be involved in the activities but is already used to the whole place and told Pomni to accept her new life and new body

Agatha had a small mental breakdown when Pomni asked why they do those activities while Jax didn't, and she also acts surprised as to why he would have the keys and why would he leave a centipede on her room even tho she should expect it already (the rest seem normal about his behavior)

She also thinks Kaufmo can be helped by Caine, it's not like he hides what happens if they become abstract, he just sent him to the fucking whatever that shit was (forgot the name) in front of them all, even if she was just arriving she probably should know or someone must've told her, that means that either none has become abstract in a long time, Agatha is, conviniently, never there to watch or she hasn't been there long enough to see it

I think she tries to convince herself that there's no exit because she doesn't want to go insane and reach her limit, and Pomni is just doing it harder for her because she hasn't fully adapted and has to now help someone else to adapt

Jax MAYBE came a time before her, despite accepting his fate it feels like he will lose it at any moment

Kinger was apparently the oldest one, I'm thinking Zooble was after gim, more than crazy, they're tired of this place and doesn't participate if giving the chance

You snort out a chuckle as you grab the mug Remus had prepared for you, washing down the tasty dessert with tea. “Ye don’t say.”

Headcanons:

Remus has a small embroidery kit in his bag, just in case you get bored or need a distraction from anything.

On the first date, Remus took you with him to a book shop in mid November. You shared a scarf, a thermal mug filled with tea and browsed books for hours. Now it’s a monthly thing. (Happens at least twice in November, just because he knows about you and November).

Remus asked James for relationship advice at first and it set back the relationship by a fucking month because Remus didn’t know how to execute whatever James wanted him to do.

Remus gets really dry lips in the winter, and when you insisted on buying him vaseline, he felt so offended he got all sassy about it.

The Lee/Crackenthorpe sibling trio consisting of:

Alfred Lee, Emma Crackenthorpe. The loyal and most stable sibling, who perfectly balances the trio with the vulnerable sibling and the sassy sibling (below). The rational centre of the family that both Alfred and Emma learn to be.

David Lee, Brian Eastley. The vulnerable sibling/sibling-in-law of the trio, who spends the story looking for himself and learning not to dwell fully on past.

Harry Lee, Cedric Crackenthorpe. The sassy sibling, optimistic, adventurous and moderately chaotic. Grows to understanding or showing more responsibility.

Other than that:

Pilar Estravados aka Conchita Lopez. She's also likeably chaotic and a dark horse who turns out to be a better person than most thought.

Roger Leonidis. (I thought and decided not to include Philip after all because of him becoming a neglectful parent himself in addition to being victim of neglect, but I still find him interesting.) Roger is one of the first characters by the author I realized I could strongly identify with, so it's personal. But all Leonidis, like most of the author's family mystery characters, are psychologically interesting.

Lydia and Hilda Lee. Both unpretty, both in established relationship (happily married), both strong people (one creative and free-spirited, the other rational and motherly), both work perfectly well with their spouses in a good form of "opposites attract". Same goes for Clemency Leonidis, but she's described as more obsessive/fiercely devoted, while in Lydia and Hilda everything is fully healthy.

Gerry Wade and Ronny Devereux. Characters in a novel that wasn't meant as psychological or anything, just an adventure mystery, but they kind of transcended it for me. Two boys who wanted to play detectives or heroes and thought everything will go as easy as in their stories.

The young Boyntons. These are so real in how they and their issues are written and need their recovery so much.

Mollie Ralston. Overcoming trauma, fixing a past mistake of lack of attention by looking out to help a lost person in the present.

Leslie Casewell. Cannot say anything unspoilerific but she's also admirable for reasons.

Sarah King. I'll put her in the main list after all. Intelligent, professional and caring, occasionally maximalist (as, like Dr Gerard said, is normal for a young person).

Honourable mentions:

Rosaleen Cloade aka Eileen Corrigan. Another likeable impostor who didn't commit any more serious offence, but this time a tragic one. One of the most sympathetic "accomplices".

Frances Cloade. Probably she should have her own spot here. Or share it with Clemency Leonidis, I'm not sure. They feel similar as people, except Frances did overstep a law for the object of her devotion, unwittingly triggered a disaster and remorsed bitterly. I feel sorry for her.

Lucy Eyelesbarrow. Enthusiastic, competent, compassionate. Has no complexes about specializing proudly in a "lowly" field. Didn't get a higher spot in the list because of maybe a bit too good at everything/not given fashioned-out weaknesses to feel more real?

Reading Agatha Christie: They Do It With Mirrors

Now that we're into the back half of Christie, a lot more Miss Marple books are coming, and I have to say with this one, she's easily one of the better aspects of it.

The book takes place at an old country estate and revolves around Miss Marple's old school friend and her rather large family. There's a lot of set up -- the family being somewhat complicated to explain, and each of the character needs to have a little moment with Miss Marple to really build around their character.

It takes a while, however, to finally get to a murder. I remembered the who pretty easily, and I have to wonder if even if I hadn't, it would be kind of in plain sight. (The book cover, btw, is a bit of a spoiler - between the title and the puppets I don't think it's hard to work out what's going on.) The why is a little more complicated, and at least led to the book having some mystery to it, but I don't think it's her most clever of books.

At the time, it seems as though people were beginning to feel that Christie was beginning to show her age with this one, but I'm not sure we're at that point yet. The characters are still relatively decently drawn, even if they kind of make every predictable choice if you've read enough of Christie's writing. The mystery kind of plods along just like you would expect it to, but it's definitely not bad nor is it unreadable.

Miss Marple is a delight as always - with her shrewd observations and her somewhat sassy attitude. The characters all place off her nicely, and she doesn't seem out of place being there.

As a somewhat interesting aside... while the book doesn't have as much commentary on the changing times as the past few books have done, Miss Marple does give a lengthy monologue about the differences between Americans and the British, and how unlike the forward looking, energetic Americans, the British are always counting their failures more than their victories. It's an interesting insight into the mindset of post-War UK, and how drab life was beginning to come.

Overall, the book is by no means bad, even if it feels not as fresh as so many of her earlier books. It's a little clunky and a little predictable, but perfectly readable.

Not sure if y'all care but here is a chunk of a rough draft for my book

There is a man tall in stature and strong in build with hair as shimmering as a snow fox. His name is Alastor Ezra. He is a knight and Royal Protector of the next heir to the throne: Lidia Nguyen.

As Alastor waits for another order he notices the two year old girl named Lidia and Alastor thinks to himself. I can't believe I have been put on babysitting duty! I can't be upset though, she is adorable. He begins to smile greatly as he gets a message from Loyd the Royal executioner Loyd burst in the room, screaming. "SIR ALASTOR THERE IS A GREAT INVASION ON OUR KINGDOM!"

"We must hurry then!" Alastor said quickly.

As they exit the castle, they notice an army of goblins and the goblin in the lead transforms into a tall lanky man in a tailcoat. With forest green curly hair and light green skin. He shouts to the goblin army. "Alright, now I have found what I was looking for , may retreat"

"Who are you?" Alastor asks as he readies his sword.

"I am a friend of the queens, I go by many names. The Betrayer, The One Who Fell the Mighty, but the queen knows me as the Heretic, and I was sent by a woman named alcindor any other questions ." Heretic says with a mildly sassy attitude.

"Let him in. He is an old friend." Agatha the queen of tonelada de arena says. She opens the door to let the Heretic in.

Once they get inside, they decide to chat over a cup of tea. Alastor is present, along with a few of the queen’s elite guards as the Heretic sits down.

"My lady, please excuse me, but if I may ask, what is a kid doing here on the high council? How old is he, 14?" Heretic asked, clearly trying to strike a nerve in Alastor.

"It is simple Heretic. Just as your new job is to deliver messages, my royal knight Sir Ezra is here to protect the heir." The queen replies. Alastor seemed confused as to why the queen trusted someone so douchey.

"Why did you come here with a goblin hoard?!" Alastor says to the Heretic with rage in his voice.

"Two things. First, little man, don't raise your voice at me. Second, it was to get your attention. I'm not just going to come here unannounced. That's how we get killed. I'm going to come here unannounced with people to back me up." Heretic said with a grin.

"Heretic, watch yourself, I don't need you two arguing." The queen chimed in.

Later on as they discuss, a masked man bursts in the castle screaming, "TO HELL WITH THE QUEEN!!!" He then began throwing lit torches, causing mass destruction and property damage.

"STOP, BEFORE I GIVE YOU A MATCHING SCAR!" Alastor says while pointing to a scar that starts from just above his right eyebrow down to his bottom lip. The masked man begins to recite some incantations as Alastor's past wounds open up. "DANGIT EVERYONE, RETREAT AND SAVE THE CHILD!"

Alastor shouted as he began to bleed profusely. "RRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! I HAVE THE WRATH OF VANYARA TO AID ME!! YOUR WEAK SPELLS AND FLAMES MEAN NOTHING!!!" Alastor shouts as the room fills with smoke and flames surround him. And even with all that adversity, Alastor manages to strike down the masked man in a single blow.

Summary: A couple of weeks after the both of you confessed you had feelings for each other, Wanda is asked by you last minute on a date while she’s at work and she couldn’t be more excited!!!! even if it’s the first date she’s been on in years

A/N: This was my longest and most favorite chapter to write so far! also it took so long to write but i love it either way. Also Rose is starting off to be my favorite character ever.

“Wait so you both are going on a date and not just date right away ?” 

“ Yeah, why are you surprised about that Agatha?” Wanda asks her friend, both of them on their daily walk around the neighborhood after she had dropped off the boys at school.

 It had been more than 2 weeks since both of you had admitted your feelings. Not wanting to go too fast, it was the best decision that you and Wanda should go on a couple of dates first, just to test out the waters of course. 

“ It’s been years since I’ve been in a relationship Aggie, I’d rather just take it slow with y/n to avoid anything bad from happening,” She says to the brunette who only gives her a weird look but understands where she’s coming from. It’s not the same for everyone when it comes to getting back into the swing of things and Wanda knows she’ll have to take it slow with you. 

Both women take their usual walk in silence, just enjoying the scenery of Westview when Wanda decides to ask her friend a question. 

“ When you first met your wife in your 20’s, Did both of you take your time or just date right away?” She asks her friend. Though Agatha’s partner had not died, Wanda had known that they were together for years so maybe she could get advice on what she did. It wouldn’t hurt to try.

“ Well,” she pauses,” When I first met Rose,  it was when Ralph and I had just decided to break up. He was the only person I had been with and I had no idea how to go slow since my mother had set us together right away. So Rose was there for me every step of the way, helping me discover who I was and she also learned how to take things at my own pace. She was someone who was used to going quickly too and here we are now being married for 10 years.”

“ Agatha that’s so sweet,” Wanda says, surprised that her friend has some side of sweetness to her compared to her usually snarky and sassy personality. 

“ Tell anyone I told you that sweet story and I’m throwing a water balloon at you,” She says to her and Wanda nods in agreement.

If there was one day that Wanda hated when it came to the bakery, it would have to be Tuesday due to how slow it would get. Her morning regulars would come in to pick up their usual order, then it would be 3 hours of no customers, then a rush for 2 hours before she had to close up the place herself or leave one of her employees to go ad pick up the boys from school. If she didn’t ask Agatha to pick them up in the morning. 

So when you had shown up on Tuesday around the slow part of your shift, Wanda was happy that she can see you. 

“ I thought you had a meeting with your boss at 7 am y/n,” Wana says as you approach the front counter of the bakery. 

“ Was about a good 30-minute meeting Wanda darling, so it gave me time to finish the rest of my work and now I have the rest of the day off,” you say with a big smile on your face, excited to talk to your friend and ask her an important question. 

“ Oh yeah?” she asks and you nod. 

“ Yeah and I came here for some of your strawberry muffins,” you point to the display where the muffins she made an hour ago were sitting,” and wanted to see if you were free later on”. 

“ for,” the redhead in front of you says with curiosity as she grabs 2 muffins for you, placing them perfectly in one of her boxes. 

“ See if you wanted to have a little get-together later if you aren’t busy with work,” you say with some excitement in your voice but now feeling a bit nervous. Her days can vary from day to day so you probably could have asked her with timing to hang out. 

“ Like a date y/n? I think I could if my regular babysitter is free but I think Agatha and Rose wouldn’t mind looking at the boys too,” your friend says giving you the muffins. 

“ How much for the muffins?” You say while grabbing some money from your pocket, hoping you put some in there before leaving your house. 

“ Nothing, it’s on me,” she says with a smile. 

“ Honey no, I came to buy stuff and I’m gonna give you money if I could find the $5 bill,” and 20 seconds later you find it in your back pocket and leave it on the counter for Wanda, who looks a bit annoyed about it. For some reason but she’s also running a business here and you can’t just have her food for free if it comes from her business.

“ Fine, I guess,” wanda says to you and puts the money in the register and you smile at her. She loves to give you food, It's Wanda’s love language but you would feel bad to do it while she’s at work. 

“ Text me if you can’t tonight and maybe we can do something in the next couple of weeks please, also I’m gonna eat the fuck out of these muffins,” you say, waving her goodbye before making your way out of her Bakery to go home and go on with the rest of your day. 

The redhead waits a couple of minutes before quickly going to her office, grabbing her phone, and calling one of her other friends about what just happened. 

“ Wanda Sweetie!!!! Did you want to talk again about the wonderful world of gardening? Trust me when I tell you that it can be hard at first but-” Rose speaks on the phone before she’s interrupted 

“ Y/n asked me on a date at her house Rose!!!!” Wanda says with both nervousness and excitement in her voice to the woman on the other line. 

“ Sweetie that’s exciting! Is it gonna be casual or maybe something romantic? ” Rose asks her

“ Casual, last-minute date “ 

“ Gotchu, did you call just to tell me this or ??” 

Wanda waits a couple of seconds to calm her nerves before continuing the conversation with her friend.

“ And I called to ask a big favor out of you and Agatha,” she pauses, “ maybe if you aren’t busy, you could watch the boys for me for a good 2 and a half while I'm at her house. If you can’t it's fine and I could see if my babysitter could come last minute as well.” 

“ Wanda, I would love to spend time with the boys! I’m free for the night and Aggie isn't doing stuff either as well. I promise she won’t try to teach the boys about witchcraft again” Rose says and cringes at the time Wanda had trusted her to babysit the boys after the last-minute trip came up that had to do with one of the Avengers. Rose had left the boys in the care of her wife for a good 10 minutes while she went to buy groceries and came back to Senor scratchy accidentally being turned into a cat all because Tommy told Agatha to prove she was a witch. 

“ Tommy was both surprised and a bit weird out and then I had to explain to him why I and your wife were not the same types of witches. Not the point but Rose thank you so much! I know this is last minute but I am gonna get you back for doing me this solid,” Wanda says as she looks at the clock on her wall, Anticipating and planning how long she has til the bakery closes. 

“ It’s no problem at all Sweetie! You deserve to have time to relax and go on dates, you know, “ she pauses for a bit “ what I’m saying is you deserve to be happy,” Rose says to her friend as she remembers the first time she had ever met Wanda. 

- Years ago - 

“ Aggie, how about we go and visit the new Neighbor? I made her some food,” Rose says to her wife who’s way too busy reading a book in her hand. 

“ Rose darling, I’ll go with you in about 10 minutes, I’m almost done with this book,” she says to her wife but the moment she says that her wife gives her an annoyed look.

Once Agatha got her shoes on, both women made it to the house to their left to go and greet the new family in town, a bit excited since it’s been years since they’ve had new neighbors. Rose was the first to see a woman with what she could tell was just recently born baby boys move into the house, having help from a redhead and a blonde with them to move stuff too. 

“ Rosie, can we come back another day? She’s probably really busy with her kids and I would rather take a nap right now instead of going to talk to people,” Agatha tells her wife as they make it to the front of the door, and Rose knocks a couple of times. As much as she loves her dear lover, she can get a bit grumpy when it comes to talking to people. 

“ Aggie baby, we’re already here, we could spend a good 30 minutes just getting to know her and if she’s not here then I’ll try by myself,”. The universe seemed to be on Rose’s side and the door opens to see a woman with red hair, around 5 ft, and 6 inches, holding a very young boy and tired out of her mind. 

“ Um hey hi, how can I help you both?” she says to the strangers at her front door, while making sure the baby boy in her arms stays asleep so she could can a bit of sleep. 

“ Are you okay dear? Um me and my wife Rose,” Agatha motions to the woman holding some food,” and we wanted to introduce ourselves but if you're busy at the moment,”. Wanda says nothing but moves to the side so she can get to know her new neighbors.

Rose can’t help but feel bad for her, she seems very tired but doesn’t know whether or not to ask if she could help with her son. She doesn’t know her too well so probably not the best time. 

“ Honey, we can come back another time- “ 

“ No I swear my other baby billy is fast asleep and Tommy here is too so I have time to talk,” and not even a minute later Tommy is woken up. Wanda tries her best to calm down the bay but it only seems to make him cry even more and it breaks Rose's heart. 

“ How about you give me Tommy and I can try to calm him down? my sister had four kids so I have a bit of experience when it comes to babies,” Rose offers her new neighbor to which she accepts right away, carefully handing Tommy over to Rose. 

“ Hi little buddy, oh no I know I’m not your mommy but let's get you asleep okay,” Rose says and within 15 minutes she was able to calm the young baby down and get him to sleep. It also gave Wanda a bit to eat something since she hadn't eaten for a couple of hours. Wanda had told Rose that she could leave the baby in his bed and it gave her and Agatha some time to talk with her. 

It was a surprise to her when she came back into the living room to see Agatha, her wife, who wasn’t too known to be very comforting unless it was her wife, to see her holding Wanda in her arms. Just giving her comfort as she lets out all the emotions she’s been feeling. 

At that moment, Wanda ends up telling the woman everything that’s happened to her. How Vision had died right before the boys were born, leaving the Avengers ( both of them had no idea who they were), moving here, and getting help from two of her old teammates. All Rose wanted to do was hug her, and comfort her after hearing about the tragic couple of months she’s had and she moves close so that she could hug her. This leads to Wanda forming a close bond with these 2 and it’s been strong for so many years. 

“ Is it weird that I’m nervous rose? Like it’s gonna be something simple but she said date and it’s been years since I have gone on a date!!!!! Rose, please help me -” Wanda rambles on-

“ Wanda Maximoff! Calm down and take a breather, make sure to eat, wear something casual for your date with y/n,” She can hear the woman breathing in and out,” she can hear that Wanda taking the time to breathe like Rose had told her,” You are going to have fun on this date at y/n’s house? you hear me, woman?” 

Wanda ends up feeling a bit better at the moment, happy to have a friend like Rose that can be there for her during a time like this. Now that she’s dealt with the problem of childcare all Wanda has to do rn is wait till she’s off of work so she could get ready. 

Times seems to pass by quickly for Wanda, and she decided to close up shop a couple of minutes early to go and get the boys from school. Bringing some of their favorite desserts from the bakery like she would every Tuesday to cheer them up or make their day even better, the tradition started when they first started school as a way to calm the boys down and it’s been happening ever since.

Wanda makes it to the school parking lot with only 20 minutes to spare and right as she parks, her phone rings with a message from Agatha. 

Aggie the witch: So both of you are having a date at her house? Rosie told me after I woke up from my nap 

Red wiggly woos: Yes, y/n said too its a date 

A DATE AGATHA DATE !!!!!!

Aggie the witch: Wanda, take a minute to calm down! 

Red wiggly woos: I’m trying Agatha I am, just at the boy's school right now waiting for them to get out of school so we could go home and I can get ready 

Aggie the witch: What are you gonna wear? 

Red wiggly woos: idk 

Aggie the witch: it's a date Wanda you gotta look hot 

Red wiggly woos: it’s a date at her house, I’m not gonna dress up all nice 

Aggie the witch: and what if you both fuck 

Wanda rolls her eyes at the message Agatha just sent. It’s been years since she’s had sex and there's no way she can assume that you're the type of person who would have sex on the first date. 

Red wiggly woos: NO ITS THE FIRST DATE 

Aggie the witch: okay dear, I have to go because I have to attend homeowners associated with Dottie and her gang!!!

 You are gonna have fun on your date my dear I promise you that. 

As much as Agatha can be rude to people ( Wanda knows from the many times she’s been rude at ralph for asking for food at her house, etc) it’s surprising when she is sweet, but her wife and Wanda make sure to always enjoy it since it’s a thing that happens very often 

She checks her phone again to see that only 10 minutes have passed so she just waits for her and thinks about anything but the date. Wanda thinks about the bakery to make the time go faster, about which one of her employees is scheduled to open, what new flavors she might want to try for cakes, and orders she has to start in like a day. It very much helped so once she came back to reality the woman checked her phone to see if it was time and gets out of her car to meet the boys at the front of their school. 

“ Mommy mommy hi,” both boys exclaim as they come up running to give their mom a big hug, very happy to see her as usual. 

“ How are my favorite 2 boys today??? How was school today tell me everything” she tells them as they make their way to her car. Hearing both of them talk about what happened while she was working, laughing at the way they talk about the movie they were shown. 

Their home, for the most part, wasn’t far from the school so they made it home quickly, both boys were happy to be home so they can play on their game consoles. 

“ Cool now what am I gonna leave the boys to eat with Agatha and Rose ?” Wanda asks herself as she looks in the fridge that had a rotisserie chicken, a salad that she has yesterday, and leftover mac and cheese Yelena had left the other day. This just gives her a reminder to go grocery shopping the next day and she just gets the rotisseries chicken alot with the salad to make a chicken salad for her boys. 

“  Mommy?” Billy asks and it scared her a bit since she didn’t hear him run into the kitchen. Not only did he come in but he also had Wanda’s phone in his hand 

“ I heard your phone ringing and it had y/n’s name on the caller thingy,” he says to his mom and he places the phone close by her while she makes food. She expected him to just go back to his room and play one of his games or even do whatever homework he had left but Billy. 

“ Billy” 

“ Yeah, mom?” he asks her with an innocent look on his face. 

“ Did you need anything from me buddy or are you hungry? I can get you a snack from the fridge while I make something for the two of you” Wanda says to him. 

Billy looks at his mom for a couple more seconds and then runs out of the kitchen, most likely to go do whatever homework he had left. The interaction had left Wanda confused and so she doesn’t question it so she could go back to making some food for her boys and herself.

But she check her phone just in case Billy might have something he wasn’t supposed to. All he could see is your name in the caller id but what he didn’t see was the text you sent the redhead about what time to get to your place, for the date. It’s very soon to have both of them asking about dating. 

Bestie Boo y/n: So did you want me to make anything in particular or order food from that one pizza place you like? up to you 

Red wiggly woos: Pizza please ! <3

Bestie Boo y/n: Gotcha! I’ll order it so it comes around 7:30 then, is that fine? 

Red wiggly woos: that is perfect! Is there anything that I should bring y/n? 

Bestie Boo y/n: No Wanda you're fine but just bring your glasses with you 

“ My glasses ? “ she says to herself. She’s hung out with you many times over the years but she’s never had to use them since she goes for contacts a majority of the time. On days when she doesn’t feel like using them, the glasses will come on and she’ll be made fun of by you. 

Cause according to you, the glasses are giving “ librarian vibes”. It pissed off Wanda a bit hearing that at first but she knew you meant that out of love.

It’s only 3 pm so it gives her a couple of more hours to finish the food for the boys and her friends, clean the house, get ready, and so on. Out of all days, she chose today to not make a list and she’s a bit annoyed at that since it would help her so much to calm down. Wanda can manage for the next couple of hours.m

And so, Wanda gets through the next couple of hours making food for the boys while they're being babysat by he friends, texting her friends when to come over, helping her boys with school homework ( mostly Tommy ), checking what is in her closet she can consider as casual and overall just trying to make time go by quicker. 

All that and trying not to check her phone luckily helped the time pass by and before Wanda knew it, she had about 30 minutes before you had to go over to your house across the street to go and have a date. She’s not as nervous compared to when you first told her so that’s a good thing.

Wanda takes a good 15 minutes to get ready before her friends come over and she takes a look in the mirror to check how she looks. Her hair is down, she has on a simple pair of jeans, a grey long shirt, her glasses in her jean pocket, the necklace that vision gave her years ago, and her rings. Oh, how wanda loved her rings. 

Wanda is satisfied with her fit and makes her way to the living room on time to hear the door being knocked, which means Rose and Agatha must be here. The moment that she opens the door, she’s met with the biggest from both of her friends, excited to see her all dolled up and it doesn’t have to do with work or something school-related.

Rose, Agatha hi,” Wanda greets her friends and gives them both a hug before letting them pass to enter her home, where they are met with two very confused boys. Wanda was concerned for a bit that they might ask why the woman are in their house but the moment they saw Rose walk into the room. 

“ MISS ROSE,” both boys explain as they make their way to hug the brunette woman, always happy to see her as she always made everything fun and even taught them how to cook traditional food from her home country. It made both women melt how excited they would get for Rose. 

“ Those boys love my little Rosie to shreds,” Agatha says while she watches her wife talk to the boys about something related to their legos or games. 

“ Boys, how about you bring me some of the legos you have built while I talk to your mom for a minute? Maybe bring auntie Agatha with you as well,” Rose tells the boys who nod in excitement to show anyone the legos they got from  target the other day. They drag a very annoyed Agatha to their room, making a show of it to her wife and Wanda as she’s going in the direction of the room.

“ Why did you send Agatha? “ Wanda asks her. 

“ She stole my leftover garlic bread, yes I could have gone but i needed payback for my garlic bread that i took HOURS to make, Rose says as she can hear the boys loudly talking about legos and imagining the look on Agatha’s face as she probably wants to jump from a cliff. It’s not that she hates the kids, she loves these boys as if they were her own. Agatha tends to get bored easily so talks of legos can make her want to not listen. 

“ You nervous sweetie? And don’t say you aren’t because I can easily read your shit,” Rose says to Wanda. 

“ A bit nervous but for the most part I am excited, do I look okay Rose? It’s been so long since I’ve been on a date of some sort,” Wanda tells her friend. Rose takes a couple of minutes to check out what the redhead chose for herself, as the designated expert of fashion of course. She has to make sure that Wanda looks the most perfect and most comfortable when it comes to anything she’s doing and it's a position Rose takes very seriously. 

“  Wanda fucking Maximoff,” Rose says and places her hands on her shoulders,” You look super great, y/n is gonna think you look so goddam pretty, now go and have fun while Aggie and I make sure the boys eat, do their homework and what not”. Wanda looks around one more time before going into the boy's room. Tommy currently has Agatha sitting on his bed, making sure to explain to her every detail about the set. 

“ Boys, I’m about to go and,” she starts as both boys walk to their mom,” Auntie Rose and Auntie Agatha are gonna take care of you till I come back okay?”

“Okay mommy,” both of them say at the same time, Wanda hugs them and she makes her way out of her house with only excitement in her body. 

Wanda has no idea what you have planned for this date but she doesn’t care as she’s only excited to be able to spend some time alone with you without being interrupted. Wanda starts to feel a bit nervous as she makes it up the stairs of your home and rings the doorbell, waiting for you to open the door. Loun music seems to be coming from the house and she feels better to hear some good tunes while she waits.

You, on the other hand, had been cleaning up your house a bit for Wanda’s arrival and getting some things ready for the evening you had planned for the two of you. The last time you had planned a romantic date, the woman had said it was boring and you made sure to have alternate plans on stand-by in case Wanda decided she wanted to do something else. As her friend, you knew that it would be the first date she’s been on for you and you wanted it to be something she remembers. 

Even with the loud music coming out from your speakers, you hear the doorbell. Before heading to the front door to greet Wanda or kick out whoever came to visit, you look at your outfit one more time to check how you look and head to the front door.

“ Wanda hi!” you say as your greet the woman in front of you, who looks super pretty, but then again she always looks amazing to you. “ the pizza is gonna be here in about 20 minutes but we can just wait while it comes, I have Netflix on the tv ready to binge all the trashy tv we want or we can build some lego sets I bought recently,” you point to the tv that has the streaming service ready, “ or we can build one of the Lego sets that’s been sitting in my closet for weeks as well, they are a good amount of pieces so it wouldn’t take that long since it’s two of us.”. 

Wanda had known that one of your favorite hobbies was Lego building. It brought you some peace in life, especially with the nightmare of who is your boss. Wanda didn’t know what made them so fun but this could be a good moment to see what the hype is about and get some time to talk to you. Legos have been something she had seen Peter use a couple of times during her times with the Avengers but she always thought they were for young kids. 

“ How about we build the lego set y/n? Want to try my hand at it” She decides and you jump in joy and get some of the un open sets in the spot where you store them, happy to be able to share the joy of Lego building with someone who wasn’t your coworker. As much as you like to talk to him about it he’d always seem to be judging you that you always chose the architecture sets or the botanical sets. Not everyone has the time to build the sets with over 1000 pieces Jeff, plus if you wanted to build whatever set you want he had no reason to judge you. 

“ Is that why you told me to bring my glasses, honey? Wanda asks you with curiosity as you look all over your hallway closet for the sets you had talked about.

“ No, I wanted you to wear them cause you look pretty,” you pause,” no the instruction manuals can be small so I thought you might need them”.

You set the 4 boxes on your coffee table in the living room for your friend to look over the options and sit next to her and give her time to look over them. 

The options that Wanda has to choose from are A bonsai tree that is about 878, an architecture set of what seems to be London with about 478 pieces, a flower bouquet set with 768 pieces in total, and the last and the biggest set out of the four you brought in. 

A lego set of one  Vincent Van Gogh’s most known art pieces, the Starry Night, with a total amount of pieces of 2,316. 

“ So, what lego set are you thinking you want to build together? I am fine with whatever you want to try Wanda,” you say as she looks over each one, looking at the sets, the designs in the box, which one is speaking to her the most, and so on. After a couple more minutes and she decided that the architecture set of London is the one that is gaining her attention the most. Maybe when she has more than two hours to spend with you at your house, then maybe both of you can to Starry Night. 

“ This Lego set of London looks like it would be easy to build,” Wanda says to you and your smile makes her feel all happy. 

“ well, let's get to building the set,” You say. 

This had been once you had been looking forward to putting together and you are happy to be able to do it with your friend. Wanda always looked at your legos with curiosity, amazed at all the lego sets you had, using them to decorate different parts of your home. 

A good 15 minutes into the building and you both had 25 percent of the set done when Wanda speaks up, with a bit of sadness in her tone. 

“ This reminds me of the time Natasha And I were in London for a mission,” She says to you and you stop your putting together your legos. 

“ What was the mission about? If you don’t mind me asking” you tell her.

“ Just a mission that Tony sent me on along with Natasha, something about acting like a couple,” she says putting on her glasses to try to look at each one. 

“ You look like a mom Wanda,” you chuckle, finding it hard to not laugh at the way she brings the book up to her face to see what she needs. 

“ I’m gonna hit you with a pillow dumbass,” she says and you feel a pillow hit you in an instant, while Wanda, on the other hand, is having a blast using her powers to mess with you.

“ Wanda please stop being mean to me,” you pout at her, making a show of it so she feels bad. Both of you know she’s not going to stop though, it’s fun for her to mess with you and especially if her powers come to play. 

“ How about you stop acting like a big baby and say sorry then ?” 

“ I will not babe, i said what I said” 

“ y/n, get over here and help me with this lego set or I’m gonna make you float with my powers,” she says in a serious tone to you, and you decide to be on her good side tonight. It would be fun to have her use her powers to make you float but she would most likely mess with you and not make it any fun for you. 

“ Fine I guess,” you say getting up,” you can have some of my wings if you forgive me please for the little comment I made” 

“ Wings and you let me set up the next date ?” she proposes to you. 

“ How many wings are we talking about? I ordered a 24 count to eat half the next day”.

“ A good 6 wings”.

“ You have got yourself a good Wanda,” You tell her and shake on it to make it official and both of you hear the doorbell. Once you get up you open the door to obtain the food while Wanda continues to put together the London set as she was doing before.

“ Is that from Luigis Pizzaria, 2 blocks away from downtown y/n?“

“ of course, I would never get it from Dominoes or somewhere else Wanda, I only get the best for you,” you say to her, happy to get only the best for her. Rose’s ex has a pizza place in town but the four of you never go since it’s weird for your friend and Pizza hut always seems to mess up her orders. Luigis Pizzaria was owned by the sweetest old man you have ever met and would always greet you with a big cheer if you walked in or even called. 

“ You love that place too much y/n, it’s kind of cute to see,” Wanda says as she gets one of the places you left for her, taking a piece of the half of the pizza which has her Veggie pizza while yours has the classic combination pizza. Something about the Veggie pizza whenever she could get it made her happy, it was like the old man made it with love or added something to ruin Veggie pizzas at other places. 

“ You say that as if you don’t moan every time you get his Veggie pizza babe, so don’t claim that I’m the only one here who doesn’t love this Pizzaria,” you say eating, making your date laugh at how dorky you are when it comes to a Pizza place. 

Wanda forgot how good it is to enjoy having food with you, not having much time to do with her busy schedule between work and her kids. You both end up spending the second hour finishing the lego set together, Wanda talking more about her time in the Avengers to you, just overall enjoying each other company. Both of you love being friends with Rose and Agatha don't get it wrong but it’s very nice to feel like your're third and fourth wheeling with them, so times like these are always fun. Wanda didn’t know that she would have fun putting bricks together, or even open up to you about her time with Earth's mightiest heroes. She has to think that this night, has to be one of the best nights in a while.

 this one is especially going to be a time that Wanda will cherish in the future. 

“ Wanda noooo,” you say laying your head on her shoulder,” don’t tell me you have to leave already after 2 hours,” 

“ Baby, I have to go now,” you continue to pout,” the last time that I left the boys with Agatha for more than two hours she tried to turn one of their toys into a cat”. 

“ A cat?” 

“ I have no idea, Rose said it had to do with a spell her wife had fucked up earlier in the day,” Wanda says and you make a mental note to ask the witch about it the next time you see her. 

“ Well I’m a bit sad to see you leave but I’ll walk you to the door though,” You say. 

“ Hey don’t be sad y/n, we’ll still see each other and you said that I get to plan the next date so we have that to look forward to”, Wanda says pulling you close to her and she takes a second to look at you before placing a gentle kiss on your lips. 

As a way to thank you for the good time. 

Both of you say your goodbyes and Wanda leaves with a smile on her face, happy at how good the date was and is excited for the next time you both go on a date.

Watched The School For Good and Evil film and despite getting the aesthetics and costuming perfect… what was that.

I don’t get why they changed the villages backstory, the opening sets up tone and character so well. The townspeople in fear, forcefully shaving/ugilifing the pretty children, contrasted with Sophie doing her whole skincare and hair care and lacking because she’s desperate to go. The whole town, including her own mother, seeing agatha as a witch who will be taken to the evil school setting up the ambiguity of them being wrong schools. Sophie only being nice to Agatha as a good deed showing her flaw of selfishness and Agatha’s of being too trusting.

And their personalities are stripped back too much. Agatha isn’t confident and sassy, she’s self conscious, sullen and miserable. Sophie is too sympathetic and they go for a descent into evil when she’s already selfish and manipulative. Tedros too is a bland nice guy™️ and him getting on with Agatha from the start is wrong. He’s presented as very judgemental and misogynistic behind his whole nice guy vibe, judging the girls on their looks.

The plot was pretty messy too, I can’t even begin to unpack that. I’ve seen most of the criticism saying it should have been a miniseries and developed it better (and I agree) but the main problem to me was the lack of understanding of what makes Agatha and Sophie compelling characters.

Haha I hate to break it to you but the whole premise of that fic is that they don't kiss. It's basically porn with (very little) plot where Baz and Simon are in a band together and they kinda have a not-exactly-friends-with-benefits situation going on. And they never kiss. This was going to be much more freeform than my usual fare, and I was looking forward to just playing with side characters as well. It was gonna have shep! And I had a fun scene idea for a very gay, very drunk, very sassy Agatha.

I have to admit right now this is bottom of my list, but I may come back to it. Inspired by this art.
