imagine an au where shen yuan transmigrates into a blank slate npc with very little system involvement, traveling around for a while until he's found by yue qingyuan and taken back to the sect because apparently shen qingqiu went missing around his transmigration period and shen yuan looks exactly like him, so it must be him, but then a few weeks later when he's just settled in on the peak and accepted his fate the real shen qingqiu shows up who was just on vacation and everyone forgot.

now there are two shen qingqiu's, one of whom is the real one and the other an amnesiac they gaslighted into believing he is shen qingqiu.

anyway—shen qingqiu has a new didi now!

If Damian is dating Jon but Jon is still Superman/Superboy and before they actually went public with their relationship they would very obviously flirt with each other whenever Jon/Superboy had to come and 'save' Damian, so the public was already assuming that "Oh my God Damian Wayne and Superboy are dating???" And when asked about it neither of them outright denied it and would give very vague answers cus they both thought it was just fun to mess with the media.

However people started spotting Damian with Jon very frequently and it made everybody go "Wait isn't Damian Wayne with Superboy? Who is this random dude with glasses and a flannel" and when asked about Jon, Damian says "Oh he's just my childhood best friend" which confuses people even more cus when they do see Jon and Damian out in public together it very much does not seem like they're only best friends. (they think they're subtle but they're not)

And of course the internet being the internet finds out that Jon is the son two famous reporters, Lois Lane and Clark Kent.

And again because it is the internet people have their opinions...

So now Jon and Damian decided it's time to do some damage control before things get too out of hand and god forbid Jon's secret identity is discovered. So they decide to officially go public. And how they decided to deal with the whole Superboy/Damian Wayne thing is to act like incredibly bitter exes with each other.

But they don't outright say it either of course but they still think it's fun to mess with the media, so when they're asked about it it's still very vague answers. It's just their vibe and interactions are different and everybody notices it. So now you just have a million different people on the internet trying to find out if Superboy and Damian actually were dating, when did it actually end and was Jon Kent the reason for the alleged breakup.

But on a super side note I think it would also just be really funny if in general people thought Superboy and Damian were exes to begin with because they just wouldn't care, they would still bicker like an old married couple regardless of whatever persona they're in.

Jon as Superboy: Oh I'm sorry, would you rather I have not saved you?
