⏯ A series of wrist mobility drills, hand prep, plus shoulder and arm movements. 1️⃣ “Magnetic Wrists” I learned from @mikefitch.af at the Animal Flow training weekend. A meditative way to start connecting with the hands. 2️⃣ Shoulder circles. Scapula CAR (controlled articular rotation). A nice way to oil up the shoulder blades! This and the following ones are from FRC. 3️⃣ Wrist rotation. Block forearm from turning. Express slow, smooth, controlled articulation of wrist joint. This one never gets old, and always remains tough to do. 4️⃣ Fist/ Wrist circles. @jessica teaches this one a lot in her classes. and I’ve been hooked since day one. 5️⃣ Full arm ROM (range of motion) with axial rotation at the shoulder joint. As the arm makes the arch resist chest turning or ribs lifting. This one is like a daily vitamin and a game changer for my asana practice. 6️⃣ Hand lifts and wrists circles on the grounds. The #scapula ,commonly referred to as the #shoulderblade , is the bone that sits above the rib cage in the upper back. The #scapulae can move in six directions and each movement is produced by specific, primary muscles. Many athletes struggle with pressing or pulling overhead. Full range of motion for raising your arms overhead requires sixty-degrees of upward rotation from the shoulder blade. This coordinated movement of the scapula with the arm (glenohumeral rhythm) is what supports the overhead mobility needed for overhead arm extension. Hence it is extremely important to work on #thoracicmobility for overall shoulder health. Always incorporate below mobility drills into your daily practise. The greater the mobility in thoracic spine and shoulders, the better will your lifts be in the gym. Tutorial from @kevin_doesntlift 💪 Kevin is personal trainer here at Elite Fitness. Here he explains how to get better posture, and to help alleviate upper back pain. He starts off in a push-up position, does a scapular retraction-protraction movement, then goes into an inchworm that stretches with posterior chain (calves, hamstrings, glutes, lower back, and upper back), then goes back into a push-up position and does a push-up. You can add this flow to you pushups if you are getting bored of doing them at home. This flow combines 2 corrective exercises and 1 strength move. 💪 This is for anyone that is feeling body pain from sitting in their chair to long watching a zoom Confrence on their computers, or just working too long at a desk for any given time. This will help bring your shoulders back, and stand upright. 💪 Do them slow are deliberately. Do as many cycles as you can.
