Yea, I need Chandra to lose the race so so bad, not because I dislike Gruulfriends or whatever but because holy shit what was even the point of Nissa losing her spark if she gets it back after *checks notes* none lore appearances since then? Especially because Ajani kept his spark in the whole unphyrexianizing experience, that Nissa was also part of.

I wouldn't actually mind Daretti getting the Aetherspark tho, cause then he might be story relevant

if nissa or vraska gets the aetherspark the whole wotc arc writing team needs to be put in the goring machine.

they have the option to do something so cool by giving it to any character that was not ALREADY A PLANESWALKER. its a fun premise for an item but you can tell how desperately they crave giving it to the worst possible candidate

Thinking about new to the band, Phantom having a sit down with Copia and Aether to discuss how they are progressing in their studies and practice. Aether is sitting beside Phantom, telling Copia just how good the newer quint is, how he's such a quick learner, a great listener, and a good boy. Now, Aether hadn't meant to let that slip; truly, he was just so used to praising his partners that he kind of... went off on a rant. He definitely didn't intentionally mean to pat Phantom on the thigh as he said it either but-- the noise that the ghoul let out was truly something. The pure need that Aether could feel radiating off of Phantom felt like a rush. Phantom tried to stifle the noise as soon as it was let out, but Aether still heard it, and now he wanted more. He kept his large hand on their thigh and looked to Copia. There was a glint in his eye that Aether knew all too well; the Papa was excited to find he had a new toy to play with.

I'm sure the X-men and assorted associated characters will get their slice of the spotlight but I am excited for a fair number of them. Magneto, Gambit and Nightcrawler are gonna be fun to see (Gambit better have some discard effect). But the one I'm most curious about is Rogue. I wanna know how the copy effect is gonna work. I'm guessing she's gonna make a Mutant a 0/X and copying/stealing its text box

Also I'm hoping we get a Jeff the Land Shark card. And an Extremis card but the original from the 05-06 comic arc, not the MCU version

Additionally I'm very curious about how non-legendary creatures are gonna work in these draft sets. Henchmen and SHIELD agents other guys I guess? Along with faceless members of other assorted organizations?

So now that we're 1 week out from our first look at Universes Beyond: Marvel, I figured I'd go ahead and toss this out here: what Marvel characters do you most want to see get a card? Feel free to chime in with either popular characters you think actually have a good chance or those obscure characters that you would love to see even if you don't think they're super likely.

For me, I'm 99% certain Thor and Deadpool will make it in, but I also think Squirrel Girl has a fairly good chance. She's not exactly mainstream popular, but she's not the most obscure character and I'm sure MaRo probably jumped at the chance to sneak some squirrels into the Marvel set.

My obscure picks are Koi Boy and Escapade, entirely because both characters are canonically trans and I just want to see more trans characters on Magic cards. I think they have a 1% chance of getting cards, but I would love to see them.

umm phantom w pcos go crazy go stupid

(I hc phantom as trans so i project many of my health issues upon him. woe, medical not-really-angst and a lot of fluff be upon ye. phantom and aether but also phantom and pack fluff.)

cooking w gas rn. thinking abt dr aether being so sweet. thinking abt phantom getting diagnosed w pcos (no im not projecting what are you talking about). thinking about phantom needing to get an iud to help regulate his hormones and bring up his progesterone to help bring his cycle back. thinking about aether being so sweet and gentle with him as he navigates the pain and the diagnosis. phantom being so so scared to get the iud because he's only heard horror stories on the internet. phantom crying to aether and saying that he's tired of feeling so much pain and hates that he has to feel more before it can get better. Aether holding him through it all.

Aether helping phantom make a meal plan of foods that don't spike his blood sugar and make his stomach hurt and his symptoms flair up. Aether making sure EVERYONE on tour knows so that phantom doesn't get flare ups on tour so he can play well for every show!!

Mountain making teas to help boost phantom's energy because bug struggles so much with chronic exhaustion :(( has a fun little tonic or concoction for every symptom and issue phantom has to bring him back to health in the knick of time.

cumulus, who i hc has endometriosis (again projection WHO) holding phantom's hand when his cramps are horrible bc she knows just what it's like. the two of them being best friends bc they deal with a pain the others just cant quite understand.

Dew making warm biscuits on phantom's tummy when his cramps or bloating are really bad to help reduce the pain and bring down the swelling. also works for achy joints.

solaris being a little scared to help because she's not very close to phantom but one day showing phantom the period boxers she's sewed for him so he doesn't have to feel so dysphoric on his cycle!! they help him feel a little more masc and a little less physically terrible because they're so much more comfortable than the pads he's been wearing. he's so excited he definitely kisses her right on the face about it.

Dr Aether being SOOOO sweet and gentle when he inserts the iud. makes phantom totally comfortable. gives him a lil stuffed bat to hold. talks him through the whole thing. properly doses him with quintessence so phantom doesn't feel the cervical pinch at ALL. being so quick and practiced with the insertion that it's over before phantom even realizes aether had loaded the insertion device. aether giving phantom a lollipop because he was so brave.

Hello, thinking of Aether with a split tongue.
