Fastest Growing Fandoms on AO3 This Week (05/13/2024)
Every week I pull data on how many fics are in each fandom and compare to the previous week, then calculate the percentage increase to determine fastest growing fandoms. Since this naturally skews towards smaller fandoms, I have included the same data filtered to Over 1k, 5k, & 10k fics.
*this week’s data likely has some errors due to code changes - they should resolve themselves next week*
Overall:
Over 1,000 Fics:
Over 5,000 Fics:
Over 10,000 Fics:

"a haircut is like make-up for a man." wrong. it's actually adoption. give that man responsibility and a will to live, watch him get attached and learn the meaning of love and understand the value of family as he grows with them

DYK…
tiger sharks are non-selective feeders and a voracious predator. they has been known to consume a wide variety of marine prey and even some terrestrial animals. common prey include crabs, shellfish, lobsters, squid, bony fish, small sharks, skates, rays, porpoises, turtles, marine birds and mammals.
tiger sharks are apex predators meaning they don't have many natural predators. in fact one of the only known predators to this species are humans and killer whales. a killer whale is much larger in size and weight, which allows it to overpower the shark.
tiger sharks are named for the dark, vertical stripes found mainly on juveniles. as these sharks mature, the lines begin to fade and almost disappear.

I binge read @ruensroad’s glorious fic A Voice You Hear With Your Heart (belated congrats on surviving NaNoWriMo hon!) and because I am currently incapable of forming coherent thoughts for a review, have a rough approximation of the fic cover I had stuck in my head :D

Despite the tremendous amount of work I've done, I don't really have much to say. Well, except that it's a reference to a scene from Avatar 2 and the first attempt to fit my fukai fishmen into some kind of timeline
Even back then, the relationship between the fukai - who had left their home island - and the ordinary fish people was not a pleasant one. The former refused to forget their true nature of predators, and after settling in a new place they gradually established the extraction of natural resources for trade. Not with just anyone, but with the humans, who by nature were not able to descend so deep, which in turn shook their already bad reputation in the eyes of the island brothers. Nevertheless, there were loyalists on both sides who did not want their kin to die, and among them was Anko Kitou Arekuzu.
During the general assembly, the angler fishman made it clear that hiding here would accomplish nothing but more bloodshed for the Sun Pirates. For there will be those above and those below who will want their blood. They can't hide here in the Underwater Sea.
Oh, no, there's something to say)

🐠 Daily Fish Fact: 🐠
The Dragon Moray Eel (aka Tiger Moray) is chiefly nocturnal; because of this and its preference for cryptic habitats, it is seldom seen. It feeds primarily on fishes and small cephalopods. It inhabits coral and rocky reefs at depth range from 26 to 300ft. This eel is characterized by its narrow, curved jaws, vivid red stripes on the head, and elongated tubular nostrils.

Daily fish fact #517
Tiger shark!
Tiger shark teeth have a recognisable sideways-facing tip and serrated edges, which gives them an improved ability to slice through meat and tough material like bone or sea turtle shells!
