I'm an autistic egalitarian Bernie Sanders stan. I tend to lean heavily into autistic fairness (Its not fair to give sexism protections to one gender but not the other) and individualistic equality (affirmative action may improve the avg to what ever makes the executives warm and fuzzy, but during such a transition an individual student/employee applying for a school/job will have different odds of getting in based on external factors (their race/gender) instead of their qualifications. its just more bigotry and anti-egalitarian. Solving upstream issues causing application rates being low by increasing acceptance rates doesn't actually solve the issue, just leads to justifiable resentment while creating a superstar effect around the non-affirmed group which has to be so much better just to get in)).

Environmental degradation? Personal responsibility is a distraction. The only personal responsibility we all have is to pay the extra price for shit made sustainability. Plastic straw bans are poison pills designed to spoil the taste of environmentalism in the eyes of the lay person. Regulate the corporations more, add more criminal penalties, look into the micro plastics leeching from fishing nets issue, track the use of dirty oil in the sea and fine and tax corporations who deal in goods transported with it. Stop sending our recycling to 3rd world countries to be illegally dumped because we don't want to pay somebody to sort it.

Palestine? Seasons 5 and 6 of The Expanse cover my thoughts well. For a more serious answer. On day one I thought Israel (and their stans) fucked up trying to lean hard into the antisemitism angle and predictably have basically poisoned the taste of the accusation entirely. Oh and there's all the murdering they are doing (and why the fuck are we spending money to support it?) We should stop sending them money, we should relocate the embassy again, and we should give the issys a big old fuck you and put up a Palestinian embassy in Jerusalem because Israel lost the right to win that ideological fight with their recent actions. (ok maybe don't do that last one)

The expansion and concentration of wealth? Bring back the 75% tax bracket. Add restrictions and limitations on the captial gains loophole. Put a tax on assets used to secure loans. Tie min wage to price of rent for that area.

Creation and Rules of the Known Universe -Vol 1

The world of Zeven was as beautiful as the advertiments said. The thick green foilage and large variety of flowers that grew on many of the plants and houses. The captial city of Pevol was as breathtaking on the ground as it had been in the air. You did some research into the object Elio had mentioned in the scripts for the others that was supposed to be on planet. Though you did not know what each individual script contained you did know it revolved around an object called The Stones of Origin. The world of Zeven was a rather isolated one due to them not having many ways to contact other solar systems. While it made finding information on the stones difficult, It also made it easier for your plans to be put into place.

The Stones of Origin were a sacred object to the people of Zeven and the system of Zakryn. It was gorgeous stones that glimmered deep blues and purples. The only issue was that the security for the stone you wanted was rather tight. Of course seeing the stone itself wouldn't be difficult, all that required was some minor string pulling and manipulation. Getting it out on the other hand, would be near impossible. You sort of wish Elio had given you a script just so you could steal a stone. They were beautiful, and called out to you in a sort of primal way. It made part of you wonder if Elio knew you would find the stone and wanted to see what would happen if he did not give you your script. Prehaps he did not need to give you the script for you to follow it.

"Master Xevus, we will be arriving to the Palace of Pevol. We will be landing in roughly five minutes." A snake-like being announced beside you. You merely nodded in response and the being left hurriedly back to the front the train. Ah yes, taking the name Xevus hadn't been in your original plan but it was a minor bump in the road. You would still meet the royalty of this planet, so it did not matter what name you took to meet them. Even if the real Xevus met an unfortunate end when he confronted you, his name was still useful. Deciding to take the time to take a glance over your appearance, you noted everything to make sure it was perfect. Making sure your halo is beautiful as ever, wings are groomed, the suit you were wearing was not wrinkled horribly were all important. It did no good to have an unkempt appearance. You closed you eyes and took a deep breath. Yes, everything was perfect.

"Ah, Master Xevus it is wonderful to meet you finally. I've heard many good things. I am Emperess Falrun and this is my daughter, Princess Meda." A large Medusa like woman greeted you as you entered the palace. She gently took your hand and bowed. While her young daughter merely bowed. Rising up, she let go of you hand a gestured for you to follow. The large hallways were made of golden stones that were dull in the sun as to not hurt the eyes. Though it has been said this palace used to shine and glitter as if it had been made of real gold.

"It took a long while for the council to relent and give me the blessing to contact help from the outside systems. The abundance beasts are beginning to get out of hand. I hear a doctor of your status has been researching ways to help those effected by plagues such as this. I know you are merely here to research the Violet Plague, but anything you find on other plagues would be greatly appreciated." The snake-like woman paused in front of a large door. "This will be your room. We have set a pair of clothes for tonight's ball. My daughter will return this evening to take you to the ballroom." The large woman opened the door to your room and led you inside.

"To your left is the showers." She waved a hand towards an extravagant door leading to the bathroom. Sweet heavens you couldn't even see the bathroom but you knew just from the room alone that you were about to be spoiled. "Now I ask that for the next hour you stay in your room. A servant and guard will be by to give you a more detailed tour if you wish it. There will be other guests from other world's such as the Astral Express and a representative from the Xianzhou Alliance." The large alien and her daughter headed for the door. "Ah! Before i forget, thank you Master Xevus for helping my planet and system. Now please enjoy your day. A servant will be by shortly to see if you need anything. I must attend to other affairs. Thank you." The empress gave a short bow before closing the door.

Playing the role of Master Xevus was one of the best things you've ever done. The large room had some of the most beautiful plants you had ever seen. The overly large bed was soft and the sheets were silky. The bathroom was even better. The large tub/shower combo was one of the best you had ever seen. You were definitely glad you disposed of the true Xevus after seeing the treatment he was to get.

After a nice bath you put on a nice set of clothes and set your appearence to something nice. Scanning yourself in the mirror you decided that it would do for now. Now all you had to do was to wait for your tour to start.

The tour had been rather informative, but boring. The Stone of Origin residing on Zeven wasn't in the palace, but instead kept in a temple. When you had returned to your room to get ready for the ball, you had been horribly bored. It was still another hour before it started and it had only taken you half of that to get ready. The suit and gloves ypu were wearing complemented you nice, even if it was a bit uncomfortable. A knock at the door interrupted any plans for tomfoolery that were about to form in your head. A shy voice came through the door after a small series of knocks.

"Master Xevus? It is Princess Meda. The empress has requested all special guests come to the ballroom early." You walked to open the door to a nervous looking Meda. Her white scales shifted nervously and she looked ready to run, well slither, away at the sight of you. You look to you her and nodded as if telling her to go on. Your smile and soft demeaner seemed to ease her nervousness towards you. "Come I shall take you to the ballroom." The two of you made you way to the ballroom, the princess nervously trying to make conversation. It was obvious she was young and naive, prehaps you should use that to your advantage in the future? Maybe she could get you a more private tour to see the stone? It would be nice to get your hands on a stone without bloodshed.

As you entered a massive ballroom you scanned the area. The large room was filled with tables of food and drinks. Large banners hung from the sides of pillers. In the center of the room was a faceless representative from the Xianzhou Alliance, an IPC representative who you did not recognize but noted for later, and a part of the Astral Express crew. A sort of semi-circle line had formed around the empress by the time she took note of your entrance. The pearly white scales of the empress glittered as she shifted to see you. You absent mindedly wondered if her scales would fetch a nice price at a black market somewhere.

"There they are! Master Xevus, we were just about to begin. Come join us and we will begin." The Empress happily announced. The only spot available was one right beside the IPC agent and Welt Yang. Welt looked rather pale and the IPC agent was beginning to turn an intresting shade of red and purple. What better place to stand then between the two. With a plan in mind, you happily stood between the two, knowing full well what you were doing. Once the large Empress began speaking you quickly tuned her out. Her voice was rather grating on the ears after awhile. You took a better look at your surroundings to soothe the boredom in your mind. Plans were quickly mapping out for places to lurk or flee if need be.

Oh my, look at that spot. It sure would be a shame if some noble took a banner to the skull as it fell, accidently, of course. It seemed like hours before the empress finally dismissed all of you. As you quietly made your way to the drinks table you felt two pairs of eyes on your back. It was going to be an intresting night, especially when you aimed to misbehave. Of course, not enough for the empress to know it was you but enough to distract other guests. It would do no good to get in serious trouble without getting your hand of the stone. With ear wings fluttering happily, you got your drinks and waited. There was enough downtime until the guests arrived to plan anyway.

Surprisingly, neither Welt nor the IPC agent approached you. Other then the few small problems you caused for the fun of it, you largely kept to yourself. Eavesdropping on the other guests to see what you could uncover. Sadly, it seemed all they could talk about was who was banging who and the latest scandal. Mid-way through the night was when someone from the Astral Express decided to approach you. March's bright dress and attitude visible from far away. She had strolled up to you with all the confidence of someone who was unaware they were talking to a very wanted war criminal.

"Hello Mr. Xevus! I am March 7th of the Astral Express. Its a pleasure to meet you." She held or her hand to you to shake. You shook it a began to sign. She looked crestfallen though at your response. "Oh, I can't read sign. I'm sorry, but I'd be glad to go find some paper for you to write on." You shook your head a took out a pen and paper you carried around for situations like this.

"It is okay," you had written poorly. The language of Honkai Star Rail sucked to write and it was a miracle you could do so to begin with. Typing on a phone was so much easier. "May i ask what the Astral Express is doing here?" You added on and March read it. She look happy to talk about what the crew was here for. Why did it seem like she had wanted to ask you questions and not the other way around?

"We are here to hello the people of the planet." You gazed slightly passed her as one grey haired girl was approaching at what seemed like light speed. March continued to talk. As she went to ask you a question, Stelle put her hand on March's shoulder and March proceeded to introduce her. "Mr. Xevus meet Stelle, she is another crew member of the Express. Stelle meet Mr. Xevus." Stelle's staring was beginning to make you uncomfortable. "Can i ask why you are here Mr. Xevus?"

Oh look, there was Dan Heng fast approaching your position. How to do you flee from this conversation? What if he was going to join in on your interrogation from the brightly colored girl? Why was Stelle still staring at you like that? Talking to people was not your strong point and you had other things you needed to do. Like finding information on how to access the Stone of Origin without a large group of tourists with you. It would do no good to have the tourists tattle on you when you ran off with the stone. While it was tempting to just kill them and be done with it, you still had some morals. As you prepared to respond to March's question, Dan Heng appeared behind March and spoke firmly.

"I apologise Mr. Xevus, but March and Stelle are needed by another of our crew." Dan Heng had quickly apologised before dragging the girls away. You decided right then and there that he was your favorite of the express. Mentally thanking him for rescuing you from Stelle's staring, you set out to mingle with the other guests. Now, to find answers to your questions and maybe get up to a bit of no good. While you would find you answers, the Astral Express would leave with more questions then answers.

Welt knew the moment he seen the Stellaron Hunter walk into the ballroom that he should have expected something like this happen. While he could do nothing to prevent their arrival and prescence he could at least try to act impartial. It was a bit difficult to ignore the fact that honaki energy that radiates off them though. It reminded him of back home. The sheer energy coming off of them putting him on edge. It was only made worse by the fact that they were one of the most wanted beings in the galaxy and the empress seemed clueless of your status. The IPC agent wasn't clueless, though, if the shade of color they were turning was any indication.

When the other crew members had arrived, he informed them of the situation. Having the Stellaron Hunter Saturday pretending to be someone else did not bode well. The fact that there was little they could do to tell the empress without facing intense backlash did not comfort anyone.

When March had ran off and greeted you, Stelle nearly had a heart attack. Mr. Yang had told them to avoid them. While neither would get into serious trouble, Welt and Himeko would give them the 'I am disappointed in you, but not surprised' look. Stelle did not want that look so she ran to try and get March back with the crew. When March had introduced her she had been taken aback by your appearance. Were you related to Robin and Sunday somehow? The eerie similarites between you and the siblings had kicked her overactive mind into gear and conspiracies filled her head. In the end, It ended up being Dan Heng getting them both out of a one-sided conversation with you. It was then they had discovered that March had intended to ask you questions in order to gather information.

March had gotten almost nothing from your very brief comversation. While nothing else of note happened that night, the crew still left with more questions than answers when they left the ball. If only the other crew members hadn't been preoccupied, maybe they could have gotten some answers from you. Though March did learn to inform someone of her plan next time she did something like that.

When the night was said and done, only one walked away with the answers to their questions. From the Express crew wondering about the current crisis and your appearance to the IPC agent wondering how to get you thrown off world and maybe even arrested, many were unsatisfied with the night.

As sun set and rested until the new day, the Stone of Origin in the Temple of Pevol waited for its owner to return. Wailing into the cosmos until its owner consumed it and it could become a part of the whole again. The infection of Honkai energy radiating from the stone continued to make others sick and amplify the planet's problems for another day. The wailing song of the stone would continue for another day and for days after that until you finally come along to reclaim it. Until then, pieces needed to be put in place for all stones to collide and return to their owner. With time and the script, all would align for you to regain a fragment of your true self back. You just needed to be patient.

The Family of Penacony claims to not have any records of a Halovian named Saturday and nearly all information known about them is either held under top secret clearence, or common knowledge. However, it is known that Saturday does not like the IPC. While the motive behind the Destruction of Telvio-3 is unknown, there are theories that the rivalry between IPC and Saturday may have caused…."

End notes: This is set up for a lot of stuff to come. I am not very good at writing character's dialogs, but I do try to keep them in character as much as possible. I really need to get my pacing straight and I am not satisfied with this one, but out of the three versions of this chapter written, this is the one I liked best. We need more bad guy reader and if no one will write it then I will.

The next chapter of my SAGAU Lamb story is done for those that are intrested. I need to add some minor tweaks and additions, but the bulk of it is done. I may come through and edit small portions of this if i see anything wrong with it but everything looks alright on my end. See you next time.

I've posted the map I made a couple of times but i never really went that in depth about what i did to the places themselves. Well I mean I did but that's in a notebook somewhere and didn't ever actually get posted lmao sorryyyy

Okay so! I'm going to try formatting it as straight forward as I can, but it's still gonna be long as hell. Also there's some things I can't quite remember so I'll come back and update this when I find them in that notebook

Earth - Regular Earth where we live

Magix - The name of the planet where everyone that isn't from earth lives; It is very similar to earth in every way other than having magic; I might have people from this planet be called magicians, alongside people from earth being called earthlings.

COUNTRIES

Solaria - One of the major world super powers of Magix. A massive kingdom with happy citizens and generally good quality of life. Capital is Soletres which sits along the coastline of a massive bay, the capital city is surrounded by desert as you leave the coast. The south most shore is quite marshy and the northern most border is mountains, with lots of different kinds of terrain in between. Though King Radius and Former Queen Luna divorced many years ago, Luna is still a prominent figure in politics. Princess Stella is a beloved icon of her people.

Eraklyon - Another major super power. Shares some of its western border with Solaria and extends east to the coast. A very mountainous country, with some areas of plains to the south. Capital is ________. Quite a different vibe from Solaria, Eraklyon is heavily militarized with a sizable class divide. Much of the country lives in poverty. King Erendor and Queen Samara are proud, stubborn rulers (and parents). Prince Sky is largely a mystery to the public.

Andros - Though not quite as enormous as the last two, still quite a powerful kingdom as they are rich in resources. Also in control of Lightrock Penitentiary, a highly secure prison on an small island to the north. The main island of Andros was created by a massive, now extinct volcano. The bowl is now an enormous lake that is connected to the ocean via giant rivers and canals, this is where the capital city, _________, is located. Andros is a semi aquatic kingdom, a merge of two civilizations that were once at war, and as such there is a secondary royal family that resides off the coast of the main island. They are secondary in power to the main royal family, comprised of King Neptune, Queen Ligea, and Princess Aisha.

Dominoe - By the time of our story, this kingdom has long since fallen. All that remains of this once flourishing nation is abandoned ruins nestled in the snowy mountains north of Eraklyon. After the fall of Dominoe, Eraklyon actually tried to take over it's territory, but found the landscape to be far too harsh to settle. The captial city of Sparks is now a ghost town, or is it?

CITIES

Linphea - A very small city in the forests of Solaria. Populated by both civilians and acolytes as this city is the location of the Sacred Garden of the Mother Dragon. It is said to be where she first landed on Magix and is a holy site full of secrets.

Melody - A destination city in the south of Solaria. A cultural hub filled to the brim with tourists. This bustling city is always buzzing with passion, and it's where Musa's parents met and she was born.

Zenith - A densely packed city in the north west of Eraklyon, just within its border with Alfea and close to Red Fountain. This city is a hot spot for tech and engineering. Despite being a bustling city that never sleeps, this is ironically one of the more socially relaxed parts of Eraklyon, and people are a lot more welcoming here than other parts of the country.

Dyamond - This is a spoiler!

Gardenia - Bloom's hometown on earth, now located just outside of New York City because that's the area I'm familiar with and that'll make it a lot easier for me to write for.

OTHER

Alfea - Elite fairy College north of Linphea, near the Solarian border with Eraklyon but on the Solarian side.

Cloud Tower - College for witches just north of Solaria's border in a small country I don't have a name for yet, and to the west of Alfea. One of the few schools for witches across Magix, allegedly where the practice was founded.

Red Fountain - Military academy to the east of Alfea, past the border into Eraklyon.

Lightrock Penitentiary - a highly secure prison on an small island to the north of the main island of Andros

Light Hope Monastery - Home to peaceful monks who tend to the island on which Lightrock Penitentiary is located. Sometimes prisoners with excellent behavior can be granted a sort of parole and allowed to live amongst the monks. It is also kind of like rehab.

Omega Penitentiary - the most brutal prison in all of magix, where the worst magical offenders of all time are kept in crystalline prisons designed by the Great Dragon herself.

The Sunset Crew

Meet The Sunset Crew of the Euphoria Province! This crew are most known for mainly performing at the province’s captial The Euphoric, which is a club often packed with spectators and customers, staffed with performers, DJs, bartenders, bouncers, and *over-watchers. The Sunset Crew consists of (from right to left):

Khaos (he/him) - DJ + Performer + Overwatcher and Security Manager of The Euphoric

Amora (she/her) - Main Performer and province representative of the Euphoria Province

Hibiscus (She/her/he/him) - Main Performer and secondary province representative of the Euphoria Province

Deimos (she/her) - DJ + Performer, choreography assistant

Phobos (he/him) - DJ + Bartender, Bar Overwatcher, and Security Co-Manager

And here are some extra facts about The Euphoric and the sunset crew!

Deimos and Phobos are twins, while Khaos is their elder brother.

Amora is a triplet…while being the fifth out of nine children.

Hibiscus is the eldest out of three children.

Amora and Hibiscus are very close friends, being known for their strong bond and rarely seeing one without the other

Khaos, Deimos, and Phobos are often dubbed as the “Celestial DJs” or “Celestial Siblings” (sometimes being called both)

The Celestial Siblings play different kinds of music, with Deimos playing pop and hyperpop music, Khaos playing techno music, and Phobos playing chill and indie music.

Phobos often improvises the **drinks he serves at the bar.

Deimos is often nicknamed Sunny, while Phobos is nicknamed Moony.

The crew often invites all the employees to a party after the club closes (every month).

Batmarch!: BTAS: See No Evil Review

Hello all you happy batpeople and welcome to batmarch! For the next few weeks expect some caped crusader content same bat whenever I get to it, same bat blog all through march! This fine theme month came about thanks to Kev having a bunch of bat-ideas, me wanting to cover the 89 film for it's anniversary, and it all swirling around till eventually it became a theme month. I want to give bat-credit where it's due after all.

To kick it off we've got a return to what's become a recurring guest on this blog: Batman: The Animated Series. Last time I covered it after the sad loss of Richard Moll, I talked about wanting to cover this episode and when the theme month came up.. well.. I couldn't resisist.

See No Evil is one of my faviorite episodes of Batman the Animated Series and a great showcase of just about everything that makes the series as good as it is: Letting sitcom stars try out something diffrent that shows off their dramatic chops? Check. Awesome animation. Check. A great unique premise masterfully staged in 20 some minutes yup. An intresting and hearbreaking villian? Yupppp. This is one of the most stacked episode sof the series and rewatch only made me find MORE to love about it. And if you haven't heard of this one... your in for a treat. I highly recommend going to watch it first as my review isn't a substitute for the full episode. It is worth a look under the cut to spotlight WHY this episode shines so much.

We open in a little girl's bedroom. Her name is Kimmy and she has a special friend. His name is Mojo

No not him. He didn't exist yet. No Mojo is an invisible man, and Kimmy is played by future star Elizabeth Moss... who sadly would not escape being stalked by invisible men in high tech suits as an adult, but would get at least another amazing story out of it. Or we would.

Mojo then finds out some news that while he tries his best to hide his reaction from Kimmy, clearly bothers him: Their moving soon and Mojo may not be able to find her.

Before he can give up the game, Mojo disappears when Kimmy, the girl in question,'s mom shows up: Elizabeth, played by the legendary Jean Smart of Designing Women and Hacks royalty. It's neat to see her in a dramatic roll like this, and despite growing up with Desining Women.. I NEVER knew this was her but i'm happy she's here. Elizabeth assumes Mojo is just imaginary.. even though a kicked can and movement in the earlier scene shows not so. Granted while Imaginary Friends are possible in the DCU, it's still at the early point where I get her not going to that: Most of batman's rogues are criminals with gimmicks and what few meta human foes he has are downplayed a bit here in their powers: Ivy isn't at full control plants levels yet, using more toxins and trained plants, Killer Croc just has a skin condition and Clayface.. well okay clayface still counts. But most every day people probably don't know every foes batman's fought and evne if they had don't assume this is one of those situations. I bring this up because after so many damn works where "oh well this can't be real even though superheroes exist" come up, it's refreshing to see one where that's.. actually entirely plausable and you don't feel like the characters an idiot for not knowing this. Most superheroes in this setting hadn't publicly debuted yet and those we know had by this time like Zantanna or Wildcat were either other street level heroes, or in zantanna's case protected by the veil of stage magic.

Mojo's next target is a jewlery exchange.. which has low security for anywhere, especially Gotham: Costumed Crime Captial of the World. I was going to gripe about this scene as Mojo's big plan for having an invisiblity suit.. is to just straight up rob people with it, stealing the jewelery as their brougth out of their cases and basically doing a smash and grab. But I realized something as I wrote this: Mojo being this clunky with his suit.. is deliberate. Mojo is, as we'll find out shortly, is a petty criminal. He dosen't have the need for theatrics Batman's normal rogues have, and he dosen't have the experince to pull off an elaborate heist. Of course he's going to see an invisiblity suit as more of a blunt tool to use rather than the very dangerous and versital one it is.

He's not entirely stupid, he knows how to use it as we see when Batman, who naturally was at the exchange as bruce either on rich person buisness, wayne corp buisness or "oh my god these idiots barely hired any security better be ready" buisness, fights him. Bruce is thrown off as even if he knows from Mojos's crimes t his opponent is cloaked that .. dosen't really help when your cowl dosen't have infared or anything. It just looks dope. And yes later cowls do but this one clearly isn't high tech to the gils like later entries, it's just dope as fuck. Batman does do the obvious when fighting an invisible opponent: Spill shit on them, in this case plot convience paint... but whoever built Mojo's suit thought of that or Mojo himself did as he has a setting to melt it off, a clever subversion of the usual tactics that gets batman a batassbeating. And that again shows Lloyd's style: even though we don't know exactly what he went away for, his style is all smash and grab: blunt force. He only beats the more experinceed combatant bruce in one on one. .because Bruce can't see him and dosen't hav etime to listen closely.. and even if he did it'd be too late. It's what makes "Some guy what got an invisible suit" work as a batman villian: Yes he's not as flashy and yes he has a simple gimmick.. but sometims all you need is a simple power. It's something I never thought about before but most of batman's clever gadgets.. are sight based. Even the gas bomb would only be mildly useful at figuring out WHERE he might be and with a full face mask, it woudln't do any actual damage, while Lloyd could pull down batman's gas mask and make him go sleepy bye. Batman.. isn't invincible and his stories are at their best when the writers remember that.

Mojo slinks back to his place and we get the shocking reveal that he's...

A guy who looks like a human ventriquist dummy? Did Slappy finally become human and end up fighting batman? Because i'd pay good money for that instalment of goosebumps, just saying.

No this.. objectively weird looking man is Lloyd Ventrix aka Kimmy's Dad. As a kid I found the idea of mojo creepy.. as an adult I find it deeply unerving. Part of this is having a passle of nieces and nephews, so the idea of an unstable man, let alone one the parent dosen't want seeing thier kids, sneaking to see them in a way their unaware of and that the kid impliclity trusts is fucking terrifyign. Part of it is just the idea of a person your trying to escape being able to find you and do whatever he pleases no matter how far you run is fucking horrifying. It's why the 2020 invisible man film is so good.. and so terrifying I haven't watched it since I saw it theatrically. It is a LOT on the nerves. It's also why both can coexist as this episode captalized on a different kind of fear: instead of an abusive ex, it's an abusive ex spouse who you are COMPELTELY unaware is contacting your kid till it's too late.

It's also what brilliantly creates the episodes tension: by the first commerical break WE know who this invisible man is to a point and what he wants, but not HOW he got invsible, or if Batman can solve the mystery of the how and who in time to get to Llloyd before he kidnaps Kimmie.

Before we move on i'd like to spotlight Lloyd's voice actor: While I always loved the performance here I didn't know the man behind the invsible man until this review.. and it was a nice reveal too: Michael Gross of Tremors and Family Ties fame. It's the latter that helps this role as in his scenes as "Mojo", Lloyd has that same kind warmth Gross had on Family Ties as Steven.. when he wasn't comically breaking down or reacting to his children's shenanigans. And that.. makes it ten times creepier coming from someone whose activley manipuating and stalking a child.

Not only that he transitions well to Lloyd in the rest of his life, wether it's his cockiness ast his power when fighting batman or his assuredness when trying to win back elizabeth, which we'll get to in a second. It's a brilliant performance that makes me wish he could've come back or they'd brought him back in another roll: Gross is just damn good portraying a man whose determined to get what he thinks he's owed no matter what it takes.. but can't understand WHY no one wants him around.

Case in point, that trying to win back his ex wife thing. He shows up at her work, and his defense to his wife understandably not wanting anything to do with him isn't "i'm changing as a person I just want a chance ot see my kid" or "I know I screwed up and you have every reason not to listen to me but hear me out" You know stuff that shows your contrite and genuinely reformed. Instead Lloyd shows he learned nothing from prison a his only response is "I got why you needed the restraining order when I was a bum but i'm bigger now". Yes really. Elizabeth tells him to shove it and stay way from his daughter then to just "disappear" unfortunately for her she's in a horror story and said something tragically ironic.

The good news is she's also in a batman story and thanks to plot convience turns out the inventor of the cloak of invsiblity pitched it to them last year, and he has his tech guy bring up the info on the man's assitant.

Batman decides rather than talk to said assitant, who could be the invisible man, to .. rifle thorugh the guys cabinets

Naturally when the man hears Batman bat rifling through his shit, he tries to throw a rack on him.. and batman's response to this entirely resonable reaction is

Gee your just.. so likeable bruce. Thankfully he does actually stop when the guy makes it clear he was here the last few days. And look jokes aside I get bruce dosen't know if this guy did it.. but there are more subtle ways to deal with this shit or someone understandably thinking your trying to rob them than the bat fist. There are better uses for the bat fist. And yes I meant that sexually, I will not be taking questions.

The Science Man explains that he's actually destroying all the fabric. Turns out while he was able to make it turn stuff invsible it's highly toxic. He was trying to correct that problem but coudln't, so he's destroying it. And i'm baffled why there was an entry on tv tropes saying "Well why can't he use it on cars" as we see it used. And to this I say this guy is picking up his old mentor's work, probably sunk a lot of money into remaking this and testing it, and has had some time to do so. If he COUDL salvage this project he would've.

Turns out Floyd was their old assitant though in a pompus way Science Man says he was "really more of an errand boy". Gee I can't imagine why he stole from you. Such a puzzler.

At any rate this slightly douchey science man has given Batman all he needs and he goes to talk to Elizabeth. To Bruce's credit his prorities are in order: he wants to save Lloyd from dying rather than get the jewels back.. I mean he will, he's the goddamn batman, but he'll save the guy who stole them first. Maybe punch him a bit.

Elizabeth connects the dots about the invsiblity suit and mojo.. but Lloyd's already one step ahead as during this scene he's been talking about taking kimmy to a special place

She does as he takes her to a drive in theater nearbye and plans to take her away but she dosen't want to get into a car with an invisible man. So he takes the mask off.. and credit to Kimmy she instantly realizes "Shit this wasn't my imaginary friend". I mean granted it probably wouldn't be BETTER if it was

Fun fact: I did not realize this was coming out the same week as this review. Dates are fun

Anyway, Kimmy realizes it's not just her imagination and won't run away with him, so he reveals himself as her father.. and her reaction is not what he expected

Yeah it turns out Elizabeth isn't stupid and it's something I love about the episode: Elizabeth didn't make that mistake you see in 87 percent of tv parents who don't trust their shady ex. She TOLD kimmy about him. She didn't hide it, she didn't try to keep ti as some dark secret so he can manipulate it later: She just told her in terms a kid would understand: her dad is a bad man and should not be trusted. Granted the fact he looks like if archie andrews became a vampire should tell her that but the point stands.

This is also the great tragedy of Lloyd Ventrix: he wants his family back.. but he can never understand WHY they don't want him back. Floyd could've worked his way back to his daughter by staying clean after prison, staying at his job, finding another if he didn't work for Errand Boy Man, which is a fair thing not to want. Am I saying it would've been remotely easy? No, our country isn't set up to help ex-cons and treats them like pariahs, like every former prisoner is lloyd when some genuinely want to change and others were victims of circumstance. But he could've had his daughter back or at least a CHANCE at it had he genuinely tried. Elizabeth is reasonable, while she wouldn't want him around the guy she'd at least give him a chance to see kimmy if it was shown he really changed.

That's the rub though: Lloyd dosen't WANT to change. He's a smash and grab guy and that's who he wants to be. It's in most things he does: He has an invsible suit.. yet uses it for smash and grabs and his fighting style when fighting the bat is hit him with a blunt insturment. or maybe it's more of an object. But i'ts blunt hard and blunt. He says he's not a two bit hood when talking to elizabeth.. but that's relaly ALL he is. He could've conquered the gotham mafia, conquered the city, or even gone the other way and became a hero himself, fighting to make the city better. He has all this power.. but he still thinks in terms of "how can I smash this thing in my way" "what can I grab". He's emotinally and creatively empty.. and thus he can't understand why Kimmy won't accept him just for being her dad.

As a production note, the only one I have for this episode Kimmy was SUPPOSED to be in the final chase scene for a bit, but standards and practices were like

Because a child's lost criminal father pretending to be her best friend and her being in danger every time he's in the room? That's fine. But oh no she can't have a car chase.

So Kimmy runs home to her mom and Batman and Llloyd begin tussling, with Lloyd turning the car invsible with him and a passerby assuming batman can fly now which.. is fair. I'm suprised he dosen't have a bat jet pack.. wait did he have a bat jet pack? Questions for later

Bruce takes another beating, begging lloyd to consider but it's clear he's drunk on his own power and we see while he's a blunt intersturment/object/whatever he is it's hard and blunt, he gets this suit means no matter where Elizabeth and Kimmy go they'll neve rbe safe. Thankfully for him Lloyd made the mistake of fighting batman on a water tower and Batman's able to douse him, shorting out the suit. It's a clever set up: While water is also a common invsiible man fighting tool, when explaning how it worse it runs on an electric currrent. It's probably why it has the dohicky to steam stuff off.. but LLoyd can't get rid of that much water and he's out

The ending is masterful as we get a repeat of the opening scene: Kimmy is once again talking to a special friend, telling him that their move is final and Lloyd will never find her again. The vistor exits.. but thankfully it was batman, and we get a nice echo of the first scene: this time instead of playing it off.. elizabeth's relieved. Kimmy lost an imaginary friend, lost a father.. but gained a batman.

See No Evil is excellent and highly underated: It's a tense tightly packed 20 minutes with a nice twist on the usual batman detective formula the show uses: we know WHO did it but it's all about HOW and if Batman can find out in time. Smart and Gross are fantastic in this and it results in a tense, eerie little tale packed with tension. It's 22 minutes of perfection and worth checking out if you have max.

CONSUMER ALERT: Toxic chemicals found in cheap kiddie Plastic Slippers where illegally sold online

MUNTILUPA, NATIONAL CAPTIAL REGION -- The toxic watchdog organization 'BAN Toxics' made a shocking discovery, warning about toxic chemicals in plastic slippers for kids that are available everywhere online. After testing some popular slippers from the online marketplace 'Shopee' (owned by 'Sea Limited'), they found dangerous levels of lead, which is a neurotoxin that can pose significant health risks to children.

MANILA, Philippines – Sixteen people died while three survived a fire that razed a t-shirt printing and manufacturing shop in a residential village in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City on Thursday, August 31. 

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the first alarm at 5:44 am and declared fire out at 8:04 am. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Majority of the fatalities were stay-in workers. The owner of the house in Pleasant View Subdivision, a 3-year-old child, and the child’s parent also died.

According to one of the survivors, only one window could be used to get out of the house since its other windows on the second floor had grills.

BFP-National Captial Region Fire Chief Superintendent Nahum Tarroza said the house was a “fire trap” as it didn’t have enough exit points. He said chemicals used for t-shirt printing could have caused the fire to spread rapidly. 

Tarroza said the shop only had a barangay permit, which was secured just this August. It also did not have other necessary permits such as business permit and mayor’s permit.

In an interview with GMA News, Barangay Tandong Sora said that it issued a permit to the shop after it presented a letter of endorsement from the homeowners association.

However, some members of the association reportedly said that they only issued in 2022 an endorsement for a small office and retail business.

The shop has a pending application with the BFP. However, it is also only for a small office and not a t-shirt printing shop.

The Quezon City government said its Department of Building Official and Business Permit and Licensing Department are investigating if the shop had the necessary permits to operate.

“We want to assure the public, especially the families of the victims, that we will prioritize a thorough investigation to hold accountable the agencies or individuals who were negligent and contributed to this incident,” the city said.

Meanwhile, the city has extended its condolences to the families of the victims and said that it is already coordinating with them to provide assistance to the relatives of the victims. – with reports from Ben Nabong/Rappler.com

The War between the Andurien Duchy and FWL is "cold" at the moment, but with recently kicking the Marian Hegemony finally completely out, forces and resources of FWL Legion and Militia are readdressing. Andurien last attempt was quickly shut down. Given Ilsa Centrella is funding her husband's war chest, a Magistrate origin is going to be a bit tricky especially with SAFE.

Closer to the borders of the LCW and Wolf Empire things are tense for the FWL.

The Spirit Cats are looking at each other weird, and a lot of them painted the limited color on their mechs Brown instead of Purple, which certainly isn't a good thing.

The Wolf Dragoon are taking every contract against the Wolf Empire along the northern boarder, and have not seen them this mad since Outreach.

The Sea Foxes are moving more freely across all borders, so if you're willing to risk getting caught in regional dust up, you can likely hitch a ride with a Khanite fleet. Assuming their isn't one to get on in Canopus but you know how Sea Foxes can be.

Assuming all that isn't much trouble you'll be able to get into the Lyran Commonwealth where the LCAF seem to be having a moral issue and lot of breaking down of units along regional identity. I have heard rumblings of the Gray's Death Legion advertising itself and operation in the area. With trouble like that, travel isn't recommended.

Though if you can get to the Wolf Empire it seems their infrastructure is still in place, for now, so "sailing" should be smooth after that.

Travel in the CC is normally pretty rough, but a Magistrate papers will get you through, some benefits of the Trinity Alliance, though you might have to spend some time traveling with a Maskirovka agent whether you are aware or not of their role. And customs out might ask a lot of questions if you get to close to the captial worlds.

The amount of traffic the CC is throwing into their own move on Terra means a lot of ships and options for traveling, so finding a ride won't be an issue throughout the CC which is something I can't speak for the FWL.

The real question can you travel into core before the CC and "Star League" make some complex choices in the next few months. Given the trouble the CCAF had with Republic hold outs and the MAC's recent decapitations, the CC might be slowing down, though as always that will change based on what the Chancellor decides to do with the news about the Ilkhan it could get you in trouble and stuck outside the former republic or could find yourself being used by the Death Commandos or Maskirovka to get across the boarder in which case you won't have trouble since its best to use the truth of travelling person.

I doubt you could get into the Federate Suns, the FSAF offensive to retake Avalon will likely have the borders watched for Capallean tricks, and the Taurians likely haven't forgotten what the Davians did to them any time soon, so security will be tight to prevent counter-attacks and starting of a new front for them and someone with weird papers from Canops isn't going to have an easy time of it assuming you can leave the CC for Davian space at all.

Travel time is about 90 days, doubtful more than 150 days. About 30 jumps if I remember the ranges correctly. Recharge is pretty fast this days but unless you got yourself a warship you'll need to rely on the tried and true jump networks, and you'll have a lot more issues.

If you hop off the jumpships and do some sightseeing, that will add a about an average of week of transit thanks to the gravity wells, plus what ever time you spend on a planet(s.) Politics like always will be the real issue for travel.

it’s concerning to me that when faced with the idea of overpopulation, the response on the left seems to be to just hand wave it off, specifically as a myth. like, to exagerate for a moment, imagine that the population was 1000x more than it is now. i would hope that this would be recognized as, without a doubt, overpopulation. but the framing that it is a myth, something only brought up to advocate eugenics and even genocide and to cover up for the faults of capitalism, just means that even if the numbers were crunched and it came out that in fact the ability of the earth to sustain us had been surpassed, there would be that self assured comfort of it being a ‘myth’, and no efforts to non-eugenically, non-genocidally, non-capitalistically address the issue.

obviously, we aren’t dealing with an approaching 8 trillion people, but the thing is, i don’t think we can so easily say where the line of ‘unsustainable’ is. the number of variables is just too large, probably lots of the data is in conflict or isn’t even there, and a fair bit that is is skewed by the existence of capitalism. like, it’s pretty much universal for the left to regard captialism as unsustainable, but it doesn’t seem like the left has a problem taking the numbers that capitalism gives at face value. like it’s frequently pointed out that there is more than enough food produced by capitalism to feed everyone, and that the problem is merely one of distribution. but these production numbers depends on slave labor, it depends on overworking the earth, it depends on polluting the earth. we are facing the possibility of depleted aquifers, lack of sustainable fertilizers, and what might be the elephant in the room here, climate change. who can say what our production capacity would be when we address these issues?

i think it’s good to be wary of potential dog whistles for eugenics and genocide, for capitalist apologia, but if we are facing the potential for overpopulation/exceeding the earths carrying capacity/unsustainable population growth or w/e framing you prefer -- and i think we have to take this possibility seriously -- then we need to push for the things like security for all, free and safe access to contraceptives and abortion, the things which have lowered the total fertility rate in wealthy nations, while at the same time pushing for racial and ethnic equality, the free movement of all people, things which push against using the former as weapons for eugenics etc.

also like, i’d reckon the majority of the left are believers in mass movements, who want to recruit everyone possible. if someone is convinced of overpopulation, whether it is happening or not, is a ‘no, but...’ or a ‘yes, and...’ approach gonna do better, ya know?

all this said, i’m not saying really anything about whether overpopulation is or isn’t a thing. just that 1) we live in a the physical, material world, and infinite population growth isn’t possible in a finite world and 2) i have the humility to not pretend i know one way or another, no illusions of being the future minister of population or w/e other position of power, to admit this is an area of research that takes a life of study to have any chance of getting a complete grasp of it, and that i haven’t dedicated my life to it.
