This week, my homework was to write a satire. I chose nonprofit funding. Technically we’re supposed to be writing sketch comedy but I did an Adam Ruins Everything-ish piece because that’s what I have always found to be the most powerful thing about comedy: the ability to highlight, engage, and educate.

Anyways, the feedback I got was, “this was not quite the homework assignment, but still excellent” so that’s good:

Nonprofit Funding (501c3) 101

Plot/content considerations: a lot of nonprofit funding doesn’t cover overhead expenses (IT, staff training, repairs, rent, interest on loans charities take out because the government doesn’t pay on time) and to heighten the absurdity of the situation, I highlighted a fictional nonprofit with a rat problem. I kept it light hearted but there are some references to rat bites, rabies shots, and having the rats take “a one way field trip across the rainbow bridge”

A lot of that's free access, if you just want to follow, and almost all of it's available for only 2 bucks a month. Or I've got a Ko-Fi, with zero plans to update it or do anything beyond letting it exist as a support account. I can only do so much, and I'm ALREADY overextended.

I 've also got a merch store- cue one batch of utterly random, weird, and aggressively queer graphic design.

Also, I enjoy self-tattooing and drawing up my own flashwork for it as a hobby, like Destiny 2 and a bunch of horror games, have leftist politics, engage in mutual aid where I can, love watching all sorts of movies, have 2 kids, am poly with a few partners, and am otherwise BUSY.

I'm back from the deep-end and decided to work on simpler things for now.

Somehow, I've lost my motivation since end term started (most probably cus the dread of needing to go to college soon and be a doctor).

Still tho, my hand is itchy to draw something anything in fact, but everytime I have an idea and tried to put it out my brain goes; yeah you've had enough serotonin. And that's how I've lost my motivation.

I'll be slowly drawing the ask-responses out. I'd really love to have a request of any kind, just know that I might refuse it if I don't feel inspired enough by your prompt, and I might just write it out instead.

Hi! I realized I never really introduced myself. My name is Inyxe (i-n-y-x-e, pronounced like Lynx but with an i (accidentally swapped the y and n once and didn't notice until it was too late)), but you can also call me Jay! Stuff I have (been diagnosed for all of these, but that doesn't rly matter, just saying that because I don't want to deal w self diagnosis discourse atm): Autism, Adhd, Depression, Anxiety, Gender Dysphoria and Insomnia Stuff I suspect (talkin w me doctor abt it maybe): Tachycardia, depersonalization/derealization disorder, chronic fatigue, possibly a lung condition (not asthma but my lungs are fucked), iron deficiency anemia, some other vitamin/mineral deficiencies most likely, panic disorder, OCD, uhhhh idk ill add more later? maybe. its 1am my brain slidey yeah m doing this when m more awake gah

i knew that there was a link between trauma and suicidality, but i don’t think it was ever clear to me how suicidality doesn’t always exist as a direct route to death. it’s sometimes just a niggling feeling that we don’t deserve to live a happy life. not being able to foresee a future where you have agency or are valued—that’s just as damaging as feeling outwardly suicidal.

i forget to be gentle with myself when i’m processing my emotions. or when i’m a few days out of meds and can’t stop crying. for other people, trauma might look like physical self-harm and actual plans. i forgot that for me, it looks like pushing my (wonderful) girlfriend away and idolizing my abusers. i forgot that for me, it looks like imagining a future where i can’t control my own finances or have a right to a stable job.

and just like those people who have suicidal ideation deserve to have someone sit with them and take the means of harm out of their hands…i deserve to have someone reassure me that i’m loved. i’m whole. i’m going to have a home and a job and i’m going to be okay.

!!OpenStarter:Bear Trap!!

Am…Am I gonna die here?

Everything had happened so fast. Even for him. One second, it was a normal run through Green Hills forest. The stars were so pretty tonight…The next second…was sort of a blur. The loud metal CLANK. The fall. The cracking sound. The blood. Tears streamed down the hedgehog’s face as he cried. The hedgehog’s ears were pulled back against his head, and his shaking hands hesitantly reaching out towards the fresh wound. The pain wasn’t like anything he had ever experienced. The bright moonlight shone in through the trees leaves, and onto the forest floor, illuminating the horrific scene that had taken place…

A bear trap was clamped around his lower right leg, right above his ankle. The poor thing was breathing irregularly, his choked sobbing probably making it difficult to breathe properly. The kids heartbeat thumping loudly in his chest. In his head. The pain was nearly insufferable. Fresh blood dripped down his leg, and had even begun to pool onto the forest floor. The crimson liquid was illuminated disturbingly by the moonlight, reflecting off the metal and creating sickening soft red gleam from the bear trap. There was a small trail of blood leading to where he had sat himself down, indicating that he had dragged himself over.

A shaking hand finally reached out towards the bear trap. Even through the soft fabric of his gloves, he could feel that the metal was cold. Take a deep breath in and out, he reaches his other hand out towards the awful trap. He places his fingers between the serrated teeth of the bear trap, his blood quickly soaking into his white gloves, staining them the familiar crimson color. It was a feeble attempt to open the thing, maybe even just loosen it. He lets out a soft cry as grinds his teeth, vision blurring from the fresh tears forming in his eyes. He isn’t able to get very far, only just beginning to pry it open maybe an inch. But the adrenaline pumping through his veins simply wasn’t enough, and his strength soon gave out, causing the bear trap to clamp down onto his leg once more. Immediately pain shoots up through his leg, and he pulls away his hands quickly in fear of hurting his fingers. Sonic letting out a pain filled cry. He could have sworn he had heard a cracking noise, and that thought alone made him feel sick. He slumps back over, gently closing his eyes and simply sobbing to himself. The pain was becoming too much. The bone might have even broken at this point…and he was losing so much blood. He was so tired…

I…I’m…gonna to die here…
