Me: is working on writing a story that is extremely personal to me and literally could not be separated from my identity and self even if you had a knife

Creator (Not a specific one): Is an abuser, a transphobe, a racist, is someone who actively encourages hate crimes, enjoys hurting children and so on

Audience: Just separate the art from the artist!

Me: my work could literally never be separated from my life experiences. Even any harm that comes from my work could not be separated from the fact that I am a flawed person and I've made mistakes and bad choices. If you find bigotry or hatred of any kind in my work, it is because of me, the author, not some all knowing writing demon. If there are flaws in the writing, it is because I am not a perfect writer. If there are good points, it's because those were MY ideas. Everything in my work is connected to ME. One day I will publish it and I will go on and change and grow and the work will remain as a time capsule of my identity at the time. It is literally impossible to separate me from my work. Even if it was plagiarized, their words would ring hollow, as they did not have my life, and they could never truly understand.

Audience: Just separate the art from the artist!

People will really have the most unhinged, absolute end of the spectrum takes online, and then have the audacity to harass and threaten anyone who tries to point out how problematic their behavior is. What even is social about social media at this point anymore.

At this point “critical consumption” and “separate the art from the artist” has fully lost its meaning and has just become a way for people to convince themselves that what they choose to support and what media they consume exists in a moral vacuum. No, you’re not practicing critical consumption, you’re being intellectually lazy and you don’t want to find a different book to read/movie to watch/game to play/exc. regardless of who made it or how their influence affects people and you just want a nicely regurgitated excuse for it. It is truly deeply concerning how nowadays convenient media consumption is more important than not supporting people who actively hurt others (up to and including influencing legislation that harms entire groups of people) and that people are SO attached to pieces of media (over people, mind you) that it is borderline taboo to say this. It is not even the bare minimum to avoid media made by predators, for one, it’s the entire floor.

Doctor Matteo Frosini, I imagine him as a fiftysomething Bracco Italiano from Florence. He has a dignified and collected look to him, but he can be surprisingly jovial and good-natured as well. Above all he's pragmatic, confident in his abilities and unflappable in a time of crisis.

I think the craziest thing about TTPD as an album is that I think a lot more people would like it if they actually just sat and listened and applied to it their own lives and didn’t just focus on the muses. Like. It’s so obvious she doesn’t want us to just focus on the muses. The manuscript even said the story isn’t mine anymore, this story is over and she’s moved on and it’s ours now and we’ll find new and different meanings in it. And I think writing the whole album off as ‘her worst album and it’s all about her obsession with 1 man’ just does the album such a disservice even if it’s not their kind of album.
