imagine prideshipping but it's something like:

seto kaiba -> atem -> priest set

seto wants to be ~💖rivals💖~ with atem and atem thinks he reciprocates at first but then he remembers priest set and suddenly the question of projection comes up. like, does atem actually feel attracted to respect kaiba, or are his feelings for someone else and kaiba is the closest thing to that person?

and yeah you can argue that one is very heavily implied - possibly outright stated - to be the other's reincarnation and therefore they're "the same person", but yugi is also implied to be atem's reincarnation and ryou is implied to be thief king douchebag's reincarnation (hence similar appearance and host compatibility), yet their spirits exist within and alongside their hosts, and a major aspect of the plot is that yugi and atem aren't the same person, so it wouldn't be a very strong argument.

and in any case, kaiba isn't familiar with priest set (in the manga at least; i haven't seen anime memory world), so from his perspective the above point is moot anyway. as far as he's concerned, the one person he wants most to acknowledge him his superiority will always be looking at him and seeing someone else. he's not sure who, but on some level he senses it, and i don't think i need to explain the effect that would have on him.

yeah Kisara was a self-banished wanderer, guilt ridden and afraid of her dragon but also like. who made the dragon. lol. theres always ALWAYS this quiet rage and grief, which claws at her skin trying to escape, just barely kept down at any given moment, and when her loyalty, therefore the dragons loyalty is bound to Seto there is not only no guilt, she surrendered completely, theres also relief and satisfaction. is he her enabler or is she his enabler trick question the answer is yes both

For the Vampire AU, is it an urban fantasy setting where there's sorta widespread knowledge of vampires? Or is it more of a masquerade situation where Jou is now pulled into an extraordinary new world that he hadn't been a part of before now?

Also I will take any other thing you wanna yap about for this AU.

this fic a convulsed mess on a single mindless thought of mine that suddenly has three separate outlines bc every arc (yes ARCS) got too plotty.

i would say is a mix of both situations? because jou has no idea of the fact that vampires exist —but the whole thing with the vampires and other magic creatures it’s not a recent thing. it’s old. like really really old. Seto is actually a two centrury old vampire in this and before him, there’s lore.

jou gets pulled into all this because he’s too good and doesn’t know danger and he helps seto when someone (cant reveal who bc this is relevant to the plot) tries to kill him. this is actually what kicks starts everything.

like i said. this got complicated, because it wasn’t enough for me to find a way to explain vampires existence, i had to go and mix both the vampires diaries and twilight’s magic system with my own insanity so everything fits in here.

just so know, there’s a lot of beef, seto is Problematic (with a capital P) and there’s a lot a people who wants him dead, and the people that are actually on his side. don’t like him very much. jou is in the middle of this: doesn’t quite like him (can’t stand him) but is kinda protective of him (yeah, he wants to protect the century old vampire). this bit i shared earlier is actually something that’s supposed to happen at the beginning of the second part.

also. gozaburo is here too. as a vampire.

To Siegfried, Seto Kaiba might as well make up the entire world. But it's not like he's ever had a choice in seeing it that way. The shadow he casts is so long and so all-consuming that Siegfried never had a chance of escaping it.

And it's not even really Seto's fault - at least, in a theoretical sense. Seto never asked for the Schroeder family to obsess over him, to destroy themselves trying to destroy him. As a child, Siegfried had hated him - the boy who made his father suffer so much - his father, with the bags under his eyes growing darker each day as he fell deeper and deeper into misery and exhaustion. When he grew older, there was a brief time when he directed his hatred at his own father, instead, and decided he would free himself from the shackles that Seto Kaiba had on his life.

But in the end, fate had laughed at him mercilessly, and Siegfried finally grew to understand what had kept his father up night after sleepless night. Because whatever he did, Kaiba was always, always one step ahead. Perhaps Siegfried should've left it, should've let himself be satisfied with what he had, but... in the end, he just couldn't do it.

Without defeating Kaiba, what was the purpose of his existence? After all he'd suffered trying to get to the top, everything he'd done - had it all been for nothing? A total waste of time? ...No, Siegfried is nothing without Seto Kaiba - it's always been that way. ...But not any longer.

"Mister Seto." When Siegfried greets him, it's with a smile on his face. He's the very picture of elegance and composure, even if the smile he wears is a cold one.

"I never thought we'd meet again somewhere like this. Is something wrong? You're looking rather... troubled."
