been rereading svsss soooo combining my current hyperfixations here
everytime there's a reader isekai au it's always them loving the universe they've transmigrated into but what about a reader who's a borderline HATER (me) of black myth wukong or lego monkie kid
(tdlr: this does not represent how i feel about either video game and show, because i like them both, the fandoms are just...eh...but i do think it'll be funny lmfao)
i'm talking a full time hater. they've read jttw and fssy and of COURSE they love those books, they're a huge myth nerd.
then they take one fucking look at the adaptions inspired by them and immediately go "oh fuck no"
a reader who DESPISES lmk's portrayal of sun wukong because what the fuck do you mean he's not a buddhist after his journey? what do you mean he didn't kick the jade emperor's ass and fucking isn't badass and cool? what the fuck do you mean the six eared macaque is his 'best friend' and people SHIP them?? what do you mean no one likes tripitaka and apparently the three other pilgrims were reincarnated when that isn't factually correct??
a reader who positively despises the plot line in lmk because WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN NEZHA'S DEMOTED TO SOME CANON FODDER WHEN HE SHOULD BE BADASS?? or...or AZURE LION BEATING THE JADE EMPEROR?? WHO THE FUCK EVEN IS THE BROTHERHOOD EWWW!? what do you mean this dragon girl has the samadhi fire ew ew ewww what is this plot...
reader who fights with fans because of their (barf) mindset and also shut?? up?? about nezha being a 12 year old?? gross ass??
reader who watches the show religiously but only to find every flaw in it and when people argue about the show being a children's only audience they fight back with "idgaf if it's for kids they should teach it properly dumb fucking cunts gtfo my dms before i doxx you"
same thing with black myth wukong tbh. reader who hates black myth wukong because...no...no, sun wukong most certainly wouldn't do that. graphics are fine whatever but but this is?? inaccurate??
reader who's tearing into fanboys too because shut the fuck up about this character pingping bring sexy and also why the fuck does she exist?? why is red son not actually pif's son?? why is there some fucking random monkey tryna collect those whatchamacallit (relics) NO THIS IS WRONG
reader who's gagging cause...sun wukong wasn't in love with nobody and why is there a brief fucking romance plotline with the monkey 2.0 wasn't this a fighting game ewew get it AWAAAAY
reader who hates and then...uh oh. too much dumplings is making them choke....guys...guys i think they're dying??
reader who wakes up in bmw or lmk as some... rabbit spirit? (so weird) but absolutely SEETHING at being here because oh fuck this bitch ass god awful plot suck my cock we are NOT DOING THIS
reader deciding that avoiding the obnoxious characters would definitely be better for their sanity....only for some blasted loud ass obnoxious stupid cunt fucking google translated voice pings in their head... telling them if they don't participate in the plot they'll be executed
reader thinking they'd rather die but then the system goes "oh, you thought we were joking?" and gives them the worst experience ever that by the end of it they have to swallow their pride and participate in the plot....☹️ Unfortunately
reader who accidentally wifes up the characters and has to deal with everyone forgetting their roles...and the system threatening them about the plot too like bro how is this my fault these bitches are dumb? fuck you mean you're gonna kill me ag- no, no, you're right uh i'll fix it i'll fix it.
Anyways I'm gonna write a fanfic with an OC like this cause it's too funny to pass up and also I'm 100% gonna die with my wipes hahahaha fuck..

Never Meant To Be | SVSSS Fanfic
- Nonbinary Reader
When you found out that you were reincarnated as a wandering orphan, forcing you to steal to survive. You lost count of the times that you would get beaten up upon getting caught by the villagers. The looks of disgust from the villagers upon seeing your raggy clothes and dirty face were imprinted on your small mind. Intelligence was nothing in this world; all that mattered was the ranking of an individual. There were times when you ended up starving on the streets or almost freezing to death.
It wasn't even surprising that, soon enough, the human traffickers found you. The original owner of the body was found by the human traffickers before you were even in the body. The human traffickers make weekly visits to the orphans, demanding that the orphans give them the taels that the orphans gathered from begging on the street. The ones that weren't able to give any received a beating. All the good spots in the areas were taken by the other orphans, while you were left with the crappiest area, which is mostly deserted.
The income was so low that you even decided to leave this village and beg elsewhere. The traffickers caught you again, and you received another beating. Only then did you learn that the orphans are only allowed to beg within the village.
Every week of the first few months, you have received a beating from the traffickers.
The orphans could hardly fend for themselves, so they didn't even bother sharing any of their stuff with you. Resorting to having to even fight them for some ointments. Yes, there would always be some additional bruises after the fight; however, you did get your ointment. You know that your life is miserable the moment you even have to fight a dog for a blanket. Even the white cat from the village council’s madam gives you the disdainful treatment. Hissing at you whenever you look at its pearly white fur.
You were envious of the white cat. It gets better treatment and is cleaner than the combination of you and the other orphans. You remembered watching out of the village council madam’s window, drooling at the lotus cake being fed to the white cat daily, who later licked its paw.
One day, in the village, there was a huge fire that ended up spreading out to the borders of the village. Everybody was evacuating, while you stood confused and helpless. Almost accepting the new path of death, ending this misery of yours. You would have never expected that a cultivator would rescue you. Your memories of his appearances were blurry. The only thing that you have left of him is the ripped-off piece of his light green robe.
Away from the human traffickers, your life was somewhat peaceful. You would be found stuffing your mouth with mysterious berries that you found in the forest. The stomachaches taught you which berries to pick and which berries not to pick. Cleansing the filth off yourself in the rivers.
You find yourself in a new village and hear from the villagers about Cang Qiong accepting new disciples. That would be a good chance to turn your life around.
There was something familiar about that name, but you were not able to find out exactly what it was.
——-
You watched the large crowds of hundreds of people. There were some other orphans, some kids dressed in rich silk robes, and some kids from the casual village household. The task was plain and simple; it was just digging holes. A few of the rich folks were complaining of dirtying their robes: “This is too filthy!”. “I can’t handle this any more!” “I’m telling my mommy and daddy about this!”. “This is so unfair!” “Why am I doing the work of a slave?!” so many complaints.
So they ended up ordering their servants to do it for them, resulting in the rich folks getting disqualified. “Wait until my parents hear about this! They’ll shut this mountain completely down!” but as expected, those complaints were all barks and no bites.
The sun beat down on your back as you hunched over the earth, your long, pointed nails digging into the clay. Untrim nails for months, maybe even years; you were not sure since you only occupied the body a few months ago.
Each thrust of your hand was met with gritty resistance. The earth, dry and stubborn, yielded only grudgingly. Tiny particles of clay, fine as dust, clung to your nails, causing a gritty discomfort that snaked up your arms, sending chills through you. Regardless of your gender, the sensation was maddening, a constant reminder of the tenacity of the very ground you were attempting to conquer.
There were some smart kids who dug platforms stacked upon each other like stairs from the soil. That is to make it easier to get out of the hole.
However, that also wastes a lot of time, and time is precious.
Your brow furrowed, and you bit your lip, the scent of nature mingling with the dust that clung to your clothes. The discomfort was a constant, a nagging reminder of the futility of your task. Yet, you dug on. It was more than just a hole you were creating; it was a statement, one that would completely change the turn of fate.
Each inch dug was a battle—a slow, agonizing victory. The earth, unforgiving and relentless, fought back, the damp clay clinging to your nails like a tenacious parasite. But you pushed on; you drew in grim concentration, your eyes burning with a singular focus.
You knew the pain and discomfort were necessary parts of the process. It was the price you paid for the freedom of creation, for defying the expectations of practicality. The discomfort was a reminder that you were pushing boundaries and challenging the very fabric of reality.
Finally, with a groan, the earth gave way. By the time the ending was announced, the hole, deep and narrow, was complete.
You looked around, and that's when you saw him. You identified him from the crowd by his green robes. The feeling of familiarity and nausea hit you like a wave.
Your survivor, your angel, is the one that’s going to drag you out of this hellhole.
He noticed you; his paper fan spread out, covering half of his face. He narrowed his eyes at you indifferently.
—-
Being a disciple of Qing Jing Peak Lord was not that bad; your life clearly improved. You don't have to fight other orphans or animals for anything. All living expenses were provided for you. You shared your daily tasks with the other disciples. During your free time, you’ll spend time watching your Shizun from afar. Aside from that, the looks of admiration and gratitude were obvious.
The wind carries the rumors.
It has only been a few months since you became a disciple, and you have already heard your share of the rumors surrounding your savior.
The rumors surrounding your savior were outrageous; you would never bring yourself to believe them, even if there were doubts surrounding them.
in the following months. You have always kept a safe distance from your savior. You can’t deny that there were desires of wanting to have physical contact with your savior. It was pure nonetheless, but it still felt wrong. Even after you left behind your past of being an orphan, you still felt filthy and tainted. You were disgusted by yourself. It wasn’t long before you realized that you had romantic feelings for your savior.
But you never have the courage to confess. Your savior was close, yet felt so distant at the same time.
——
A young disciple named Luo Binghe had just arrived, and he was taken in as your Shidi. From the start, he showed himself to be a hardworking and persistent teenager, always displaying politeness towards everyone. However, despite his good nature, your savior began to treat him unfairly, burdening him with an excessive number of tasks compared to the other disciples. This sudden change in attitude was puzzling.
Witnessing Luo Binghe being disciplined unjustly, you found yourself tending to his wounds and gradually forming a close bond with him. Despite the mistreatment, he never blamed Shizun for his hardships. As time went on, the male disciples following your savior joined in on the unfair treatment, directing their animosity towards Luo Binghe by assigning him all the unwanted tasks. Despite this, Luo Binghe continued to fulfill his duties without complaint.
Nonetheless, it pains you to see your savior acting like a monster.
——
You were unsure how it turned out this way. One day, your savior’s personality completely changed. It was almost like they were completely different people. It was also the first time that your ‘savior’ approached you willingly, apart from missions. You were happy about it, but something felt horribly wrong at the same time.
You have always had that feeling since you first became a disciple. It was wrong for a disciple to have romantic feelings for their Shizun.
This was different; it was almost as if this was an imposter living in your savior’s body; their aura was different. The imposter gives out a more outgoing and calm vibe, while your savior gives out a more indifferent and cold vibe. There is no possible way that one person could change in the span of hardly one day.
But how is it possible that somebody would look exactly like your savior? Did your savior have a twin brother? If yes, where is your savior right now? There’s no possible way that your savior would just abandon his disciples and his title without a single word.
The imposter attempted to mend your relationship; however, it didn’t work. The longer that the imposter stayed, the more hatred that you grew for him.
At the same time, you were glad that he’s now nicer to his disciples and Shidi Luo Binghe. But you simply can't get over the fact that the imposter is using your savior’s body without any permission.
Months turned into years, and your hatred toward the imposter grew numb, just like your feelings. There was no use for it anymore. You ended up leaving the peak and becoming a wandering cultivator.
When your Shidi Luo Binghe married the imposter, they invited you, hoping that you would come. Which you did.
As you watched the smiles imprinted on both your Shidi Luo Binghe and the imposter, Only then did you realize that you had officially lost your savior. Forever.

beta reader(s) yearned for ( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡
hello, I am an AO3 author, who after sailing the fan-fiction seas without a beta reader, has finally hit bedrock. my current work is one of dedication and I want to ensure it is as it should be. over the weeks of my writing I have been longing for a beta reader to share the same devotion with my work.
my name is meda, a young adult who is currently working on an svsss fan-fiction involving a character study of shen qingqiu throughout his youth. I am a firm believer in shen yuan and shen jiu combined make shen qingqiu, so the story is about how he traverses the world and the weights placed on his shoulders to better it before it can fall into ruin.
this includes his time with wu yanzi, and his disciple years.
fan-fiction should not be contained to canon, which is why I am embracing my multi-shipping roots, as seen in the tags below.
this will be a long-fic story with slow-burn and hurt/comfort. thus this story will be demanding in its complex relationships and world building. so if anyone is willing to beta read for this humble writer, I would be most pleased.
requirements include...
access to discord
access to google docs
history in writing, reading, or beta-ing fanfictions
compassion for small writers 。゚( ゚^∀^゚)゚。
honesty (if you don't like something, let me know and we can work to make it better)
willing to listen to this poor authors rants ヾ( `ー´)シφ__
teamwork skills (there may be multiple beta's)
story includes
violence and dark theming
romance and relationship building
world building and mystical creatures
complex relationships (love alone doesn't make something healthy)
the svsss brand of fluff and comedy
multishipping/polyamory (tianlang-jun/yue qingyuan/liu qingge/shen qingqiu)
adventure and action ! many cool sword fights
mayhap some nsfw theming in the future, however accommodations can be made to ensure everyones comfort and boundaries (ie. no working on those chapters)
down with huan hua palace !!!
shang qinghua & shen qingqiu bromance
previous gen peak lords
demon realm lore and culture building
if anyone is interested in beta reading for this work, please comment or contact me privately and we many discuss. questions and concerns are welcome!
well wishes to all ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

The Cunning Cat and Lazy Fox
Updated here first at AO3
I wrote this at work and I’m hella tired so sorry if a bit of my unhingedness bleeds in this
Might change the chapter title later
Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 (Here) | Chapter 5
Chapter Four | The Hamster’s Polar Bear Meeting the Fox and Fighting the Cat
Your date with Shen Jiu went well. The banquet at the village chief’s home was delicious and everyone in Peony village was so kind and generous. Shen Jiu ate a lot on the insistence of the kind aunties and you were able to encourage him to dance with you. Currently, both of you are sitting at “Lover’s Lake” which is a short walk from the village chief’s house and it is a popular spot with couples as there is a tradition of couples releasing boat lanterns with their names written together onto the lake. And even though the lantern sunk once it reached the middle, it is said to be a good thing and not a bad thing as it means the lantern will stay at the bottom forever which means the couple’s love will remain forever.
“A very typical couple spot,” You commented after releasing a lantern with Shen Jiu on the lake and then sitting at a bench nearby.
“Agreed,” Shen Jiu replied.
“At least the boat lanterns are made of peony petals instead of paper and the candles are made from soybean so the land’s balance isn’t thrown off,” You added. “And it is interesting that as long as the boat lantern sinks in the middle, it is not a bad fortune for the couple,”
“And our boat just reached the middle,” Shenn Jiu stated.
“Yeah,” You replied. You and Shen Jiu watched intently as your boat lantern floated in the center of Lover’s Lake and slowly sank to the bottom. There was a brief ripple of light from the center of the lake. You and Shen Jiu remained quiet as the both of you stared at the lake as other couples’ boat lanterns arrived at the center, sunk, a rippled of light appeared, and repeated again and again. “I guess this is what makes Lover’s Lake different from the water couple’s spot,”
“... A-Duzhe,” Shen Jiu called out after a moment of silence.
“Yeah,” You replied.
“A-Duzhe must… better stay with Jiu-er or he will imprison you, A-Duzhe is after all responsible for Jiu-er,” Shen Jiu stated after grabbing your right hand.
“Ahahah alright, A-Duzhe will stay with Jiu-er till he no longer needs me,” You replied, locking your fingers together with Shen Jiu. The two of you sat at the lake till the banquet came to an end.
—
After returning to Cang Qiong Sect then Qing Jing Peak and giving your report to you Shizun. You gave him his herbs and a bag of white peony tea leaves as a souvenir from your trip with Shen Jiu.
“Has disciple Shen Jiu seduced you enough?” Your Shizun teased.
“Is that rumor still going around?” You huffed.
“Getting caught by disciple Liu Mingcheng and the gossip spread by disciple Qi Ziyuan and her martial siblings has done large damage to his reputation. Head Disciple A-Duzhe should have nipped it in the bud,” Your Shizun stated.
“This disciple understands his wrongdoing, this disciple will collaborate with Shen Jiu-shidi to strategize scheme to make that rumor disappear,” You bowed to your Shizun.
“This master is looking forward to it,” Your Shizun smiled. Tomorrow you will have to be more proactive in getting Shen Jiu the reputation, achievement, and skill to surpass you into becoming the head disciple of Qing Jing Peak.
—
What started out as a normal day. Waking up with Shen Jiu in bed with you, training your junior siblings, doing your errands for your Shizun, tense tea time with Yue Qi, and trying to hang out with Shang Huaisang. When you went to hang out with your hamster of a junior brother to talk strategy for fixing Shen Jiu’s reputation at a small house you had built just for your rendezvous with Shang Huaisang, his wet dream of a man happened to be there. It did not end well, in fact, you just fucked yourself to the demon world and your one-way home is ready to kill you. The future Mobei-jun is glaring at you as the two of you are cramped in a small cave hiding from his uncle. Just your luck, at least you know you will at least get something noteworthy at the end of this.
“For fuck sake, Xiao Bei, did you really think you would not be discovered when you visit my Shang-shidi?” You cursed in English before glaring at the chest in front of you. The cave was really small as you were pressed right up against Mobei-jun, you have started to call him Xiao Bei since he is not the northern desert king yet and to be a little menace, as well as the irony because of his demon heritage he was really tall. Your face is inches from his chest, no doubt Airplane-bro will whine when he hears this from you.
“Yours?” Xiao Bei questioned.
“Yes mine, Shang Huaisang is my Shidi and friend,” You tilt your head up with a challenging glare at Mobei-jun. “You better listen to my Shidi well, he is overworked as it is,” You felt his demonic qi swirl around you.
“And why should this prince listen to a lowly cultivator?” Xiao Bei questioned, you felt a claw hand at the back of your neck.
“This one is no lowly cultivator nor are they a righteous one either,” You replied, aiming your sheathed dagger at Xiao Bei’s family jewels. As you and Xiao Bei had a tense standoff, you both heard the sound of footsteps and looked over at the opening of the cave.
Appearing at the mouth of the cave was one of Linguang-Jun’s henchmen, you quickly unsheathed your dagger and launched it at the henchmen with far too much strength, the dagger sliced the henchmen’s head clean off. As you crawled out of the small cave, Xiao Bei following you, you carefully looked around for any more of Linguang-Jun’s henchmen. As you heard steps coming closer you ready your dagger but you were grabbed by the back of your uniform and dragged into a portal as you felt an arrow scratched your arm. Despite the scratch being small, you felt as if your whole arm was lit on fire and spread to the rest of your body. As you blackout from the pain, you feel cool hands on your back and under your knee.
—
As you awoke to a wail, you slowly opened your eyes. It’s really cold, you thought. As you sat up, the first thing you saw was Shang Huaisang sobbing and pacing.
“Shang-shidi?” You groaned.
“Duzhe-shixiong!” Shang Huaisang yelled and in the blink of an eye appeared by your bedside. “Shixiong! Are you okay? You no longer feel poisoned are you?” He asked.
“Ah…” You recalled an arrow grazing you as you presumably Xiao Bei pulled you with him through his portal and the feeling of being burned. You circulate your qi “No, I’m fine now,”
“Great,” Shang Huaisang sighed in relief then stared at you with dread “Now please calm down Shen-shixiong as he is in the Northern Deseret Palace, arguing with my prince and is very much about to fight him,” As you stare into your junior brother's eyes, a part of you did want to see what would happen but you can see how stress he is and you promised Shen Jiu that you would be there for him.
“Lead the way,” You sighed.
—
As you entered one of the gardens of the Northern Deseret Palace, you heard swords lashing.
“Oh no!” Yelled Shang Huaisang and he grabbed your wrist to hurry you along. In the middle of a destroyed patch of frosted willowing silver wisterias was Shen Jiu attacking Xiao Bei while Xiao Bei was just defending himself. You quickly notice that Shen Jiu now has a spiritual weapon.
“Ooo has Jiu-er gained Xiu Ya sword?” You questioned.
“YES! After accidentally entering the demon world with my prince and then getting poisoned, you were in a coma for…”
“Ah,” You can guess the sequence of events that happened while you were recovering. “I assumed I was in a coma for a concerning amount of time and you had to go to Jiu-er to help me?”
“Yeah, you were in a coma for almost three weeks. After a week of your poisoning and I as well as my prince having no idea what kind of poison it was, I went to Shen-shixiong. He was not happy, at all, but since it came to you, he agreed to cover for us and figure out the antidote.” Shang Huaisang paused for a moment and spoke more softly. “However, after giving you the antidote and still not waking after a week. I accidentally stumbled upon Shen-shixiong during a private emotional moment as he was screaming and sobbing for you to wake up as well as other things,” He sighed. “I was, of course, caught and somehow was able to comfort him, and he isn’t angry at me anymore but since you are awake now, please calm him down before he rips off my prince’s head,”
“Alright, I’ll go save you dream man,” After digesting Shang Huasiang’s info dump, you agreed to stop the one-sided battle.
—
Thinking back to this time, you were glad to be poisoned as it was the start of Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu getting closer and later sworn brothers, as well as Shen Qingqiu being comfortable in his role as a senior brother. You were pretty sure Shen Qingqiu was friends with Mobei-Jun by now, even if neither wanted to admit it, as Mobei-Jun would spend time with Shen Qingqiu when neither you nor Shang Qinghua was available. Or it could just be Shen Qingqiu threatening Mobei-Jun to come to learn politics and strategy so that Mobei-Jun won’t rely heavily on Shang Qinghua and overwork your already overworked junior brother.

Hey is anybody interested in my ideas for svsss/pidw?? You know those ideas that you seen on here between either shen yuan, shen qingqiu/jiu and sometimes other characters? Now what if there were those kind of ideas for the reader for the svsss/pidw fandom.
Example: what if instead of shen yuan it be the reader who reincarnates as Shen jiu’s baby (whether omegaverse or not) and try and save their mother.
Basically like the ideas and au’s you’d usually see on here but with the reader, Shen yuan might or might not be added, depends on the idea I have.
But anyway, anyone want to read my versions of them? Fair warning probably most of them would be crossovers but I have seen some crossovers with it so I guess it’s fine 😅

the Devil doesn’t bargain
Reader and Proud Immortal Demon Way
You were naive.
Died by the hands of a speeding car, you reincarnated into the world SVSSS…or PIDW you’re assuming since you found yourself becoming a slave with Shen Jiu and Yue Qi, with your slave number being Ba for eight. The slavers found you when you were a toddler, bringing you to where the other slave children were. There, you were raised alongside Shen Jiu and Yue Qi. You were quite happy because Shen Jiu was your favorite character, despite not being there in the three books.
He was human with many layers and sides. You didn’t see an evil scumbag or a bitter slave that became a Peak Lord, but rather a child that was molded by society’s cruelty. Having taken psychology, you knew the Nature vs Nurture theory and evidence of it. And it’s clear that Shen Jiu is the product of Nurture rather than Nature.
You three were inseparable, becoming the dusk of Qi-ge’s light and A-jiu’s night. You had no hesitation to steal if it meant that your friends would be fed. A-Jiu would scold you while Qi-he would fuss over you, checking for wounds. It was then you swore you would change their fates from the original plot.
Even when you three were sent to the Qiu Household and Qi-ge ran away with the promise of returning, you stayed with A-Jiu to share his suffering. You became a friend and kindred spirit.
Even when you burned the Qiu’s house, except for Qiu Haitang, the women and the children. You held A-jiu’s hand all this time, smiling at him. Shen Jiu asked, “Will you not leave me?”
And you only graced him with a smile while saying, “I’ll be with you, A-Jiu. Whether fire, water, or air. Through light and darkness, I’ll be with you. And if you die, I’ll burn the world that has wronged you.”
You watched his eyes tear up as determination roared in your chest, prepared to change his fate.
30 years later…
A-jiu’s dead.
You stared emotionlessly at the corpse of Shen Jiu, now Shen Qingqiu, who’s now a bound corpse in the middle of the Huanhua palace room where his trial was. Cultivators, especially the ones from the great four sects were either celebrating his death and those angered that he got out too quickly before he could be replayed tenfold.
You walked towards the corpse, ignoring any voice that spoke your way, they were irrelevant. You took A-Jiu in your arms, his cold body against your warm and alive one as you embraced him. You nosed into the crook of his neck as anger began to bubble like a pot of water on a stove. Shaking, you hold him tightly as you grit your teeth.
“What are they doing!?”
“A friend?”
“As if that scum has any friends!”
The last line broke any restraint as you screamed into the ceiling with unbridled anger, letting out the demon that resided in you unleashed.
BENDY!
The ink demon was delighted to be out.
A shrilling screech followed by a guttural roar resounded throughout the room before black inky tentacles shot out of you and latched themselves onto everyone within the sect building. No one could escape, even as they resisted and struggled, it was fruitless as the tentacles latched onto their heads, rendering them still and vulnerable.
As you fed them the memories of Shen Jiu, letting them watch the nightmare you and he went through, you began singing. Call you mad in grief and sorrow, it’s the last piece of sanity you could entertain before actually going mad with anger, grief, and sorrow.
Before you destroyed Jianghu.
The lyrics left your lips before you even noticed, broken with incoming sobs.
“ The moon will sing a song for me,
I loved you like the sun
Bore the shadows that you made
With no light of my own
I shine with only the light you gave me…
I shine with only the light you gave me…”
The voices from the puddles join in with your singing, comforting your loss. Tears fell like a waterfall from your eyes, only to be wiped by a grotesque and deformed hand. The hand itself was barely covered by a glove, which only protected the palm and not the three fingers it had. A deep and guttural voice spoke beside you, near your ear. “Angry, little human?”
You looked back at Bendy, whose human teeth were stretched into an inhumanely wide smile, his horns curved back, and his body disfigured and disproportionate. He looms over you, towers even, but you feel no fear.
“So much,” you replied as the tentacles slowly retreated back onto Bendy, you came out of your back. One by one, the cultivators in the room regain awareness of their surroundings, pale with horror and realization. You glanced at Luo Binghe, who at one point had sympathized with him and loved him, who looked at you with new realization, paleness, and something unreadable.
You moved on to the Cang Qiong sect, where the peak lords are white as a sheet as they realize what they had done to your misunderstood friend.
Qiu Haitang, whom you glared with disgust, trembled. “No…it can’t be..my brother—“
“Was a lecherous, greedy, scum bastard,” you spat out the words like acid. “Qiu Janlou,”’ you said the name like it was a bitter delicacy. “That’s what he was. And you were too blind to see it, stupid princess.”
“I thought you were lying!” She cried, so into her head at the revelation and revealed that she didn’t notice you walking towards her. It wasn’t only till you gripped her head with your fingers, squishing her cheeks painfully while digging your nails. “Do you also wanna know?” You said loudly for all of them to hear. “Your brother lusted after you! That man was not only a lecher but also an incestuous mutt! A pathetic human being so low to even live!”
Before the girl could say anything, you slapped her, nails scratching her cheek. “You spoiled,” another slap “coddled, “and another “weak mistress!” A final slap sent her to the ground, her pretty face marred with scars from your nails.
You flicked the blood of your nails, sneering in disgust. Her sobs didn’t deserve any sympathy from you.
You then looked at the Old Palace master, a smile so vile with anger that he would've melted on the spot. “And all you pathetic cultivators talk about scum, you aren’t aware that a certain scum hides amongst you!”
They all turn to the Old Palace Master, who tries and fails to put up a kind facade. “What evidence do you have—“
“Oh, we’re really going that route?” You smiled with teeth, Bendy as the Ink Demon laughed behind you. “How about we ask Tianlang-Jun that!”
At your words, demonic qi filled the room as the said demon lord entered with casual swag, Zhuzhi-lang by his side. They gasped at his appearance, disbelief, and anger as they tried to make sense of this.
Tianlang-Jun, for his part, smiles casually yet his eyes hold malicious anger. “My, it has been quite a while since I’ve seen some familiar faces,” his eyes immediately went to the Old Palace Master. “Especially you.”
“How!?” The old man cried, speaking the question everyone had in mind.
With dramatic flair, you looked at Luo Binghe. “Luo Binghe, I would like to introduce to you Tianlang-Jun, your father. Who loved your mother, Su Xiyan, with all of his heart. Unfortunately, her Shizun was obsessed with her and out of jealousy, lied to the whole cultivation world to get rid of Tianlang-Jun. Who poisoned Su Xiyan to kill the baby who is now known as Luo Binghe.”
Meeting the said young man’s eyes, you then stated. “And the reason why you became an orphan.”
You ignored the hitched breath as you looked at the cultivators gathered, “Pathetic cultivators, young and old, I have come to announce the destruction of Jianghu!”
Expectedly, this outraged everyone excluding the two demons and you. Yue Qi looked at you pleadingly, trying to negotiate or settle this peacefully, but you snapped your head at him with fierce eyes. “Don’t talk to me so familiarly, Zhangmen-shixiong.” You said mockingly, outraging his shidis and disciples in his sect. “He was your brother, your friend! And yet you sided with the majority when it came to rumors and accusations! Didn’t I tell you to stay by his side, to give the benefit of the doubt to these rumors!? Are my visits a waste of time if this is the result!?” You groused, fingers elongating and scales fluttering on your cheek. “What a poor brother you have been to A-Jiu, you pathetic excuse of a brother!”
With a snap of your fingers, shards of glass hurriedly gathered into the air to form a single shard. The reflection then changed to the entirety of the Central Plains, whose faces were horrified and angry. You laughed, “People of the human realm, do you judge these cultivators as unworthy protectors of you all!?”
“Yes!” The people in the shard answer.
“What’s going on…” a cultivator asked, losing sense of reality.
“They know?!”
“The common people were watching the whole time!?”
“Stop them!” The Little Palace mistress shrieked, outraged that not only her father was slandered but soon their reputation would be destroyed.
“Silence!” You growled at her. “You have your answer from the people,”
Deciding enough was enough, you looked up at the sky with arms raised at your sides. “You celebrate his death, I’ll only celebrate…”
“When your ashes fall.”
From there, like a broken dam, demons poured into the building with glee.
Years later…
The story of the ruler of the Human realm spread for millennia. The story of how they overthrew the Emperor and his courts, how they exposed the truth of the cultivator world and brought it down to rebuild it back up. The story of how the Ruler of the Human realm soon merged and traded with the Demon Realm’s Emperor, Tianlang-Jun, who had been wronged by the cultivators.
In return for freeing him, Tianlang-Jun handed his only blood son to them as payment for their loss of a friend.
Some may pity the half-blood, but others would say that he got what he deserved for being blinded by hate and anger.
There were stories of the Qing Jing peak lord, Shen Qingqiu, who was abused at youth, and climbed to the top to have security, only to be gifted with accusations and a trial by the cultivators he adored.
There were songs about the tragedy of the two friends, the death of Shen Jiu, and the loss of the Ruler.
Demons and humans soon assimilated into each other, and racism between them soon became little as they understood one another. Cultivators soon became not demon eradications but rather equal to demons when it comes to fighting. The ruler of the Human realm does not tolerate racism, nor do they tolerate slavery, leading to the abolishment of slavery and giving the homeless a place of food and shelter while giving children a chance to learn and adults a chance to earn.
Yet, despite the good they have achieved, the ruler of the human realm soon died afterward, leaving their head disciple as heir.
The son of Tianlang-Jun, Luo Binghe, soon returned to the Demon Realm and it was whispered that he had changed while under the human ruler. There are whispers from servants that he has mellowed down and soon became hard-working yet stoic, not taking any wives or husbands nor concubines.
There were whispers of the servants from his chambers that said that when he would think he was alone, he would clutch a fan and a stuffed toy in his hands, pulling them close to his chest.
No one knew of the Ink Demon that lurks in the Human Palace, following, and tailing the Ruler. No one knows of its inky abyss that had sent rats of pathetic beings down to become one of the monstrous creations or a Lost Soul. No one knows that once the Ruler has passed, it soon lingers in the shadows of their Head disciple who took on the mantle to rule.
———-
All was dark before voices invaded your ears, stirring you to the waking world. When you woke up to clear green eyes, you weren’t surprised to find yourself back in the past with Shen Jiu. And by the looks of it, the wretched Qiu shack they put the two of you in.
You snarled internally when you looked at A-Jiu’s broken legs, “No…”
You refused to repeat the past.
Manhandling Shen Jiu on your back, you broke down the wooden wall of the shack with your body before running with Shen Jiu.
You won’t let Shen Jiu die.
You won’t let him be wronged.
You will make sure he’s raised with love.
With knowledge.
You’ll make sure he’s living happily.
Away from Cang Qiong.
Away from other cultivators.
Away from Luo Binghe.
With your knowledge of the future and the teachings that you had learned before your death, you’re sure of things.
The sound of screams was music to your ears, watching in glee as everything was thrown into chaos. Bendy having his fun with tearing apart any foolish cultivator that tried to go up against you. You watched as those who had wronged your friend were thrown to the ground before being branded as property for the demons to claim.
That was your end of the deal, offering any cultivator in the designated place that catches the eyes of the demons helping you.
You clapped with manic joy as you watched the Little Palace Mistress wail at the hot brand being burned on her skin by a large demon, who looked at her with leering eyes. Was this wrong? Morally, yes. But then again, it was an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Hammurabi's code historically. You did say to A-Jiu that you will burn the world that wronged him to the ground, and you’re about to do that.
You in your madness of rage, glee, and vindictiveness, spun in the middle of the chaos. “Kings have honor,” your right hand flung to the side open-handed in the air “Soldiers have bravery,” your other hand reached to the other side, making you go in a wide arm stance with two of your hands up in the air as if praising the gods up above. You then brought your hands together before clasping at your chest, “And poets have heart.” You smiled even when you felt a threat going behind your back. “But all I have…” Even when they raised a sword upon you before bringing it down…
Swish! Clang!
Luo Binghe looked absolutely dashing in his demonic heritage when you stopped Xin Mo with a scythe you procured from your sleeve. You kept your smile even then, eyes wide with fury, ink dripping down your face as if you were melting.
"̵̧̛̻̦̲̮̱̻̰̱̰̰͊̊Ḭ̶̧̺̜̮͙̗̙͓̿́͊̓̏̑͐̔̍͒̉͂̈́Ṡ̶̞̣̹͓̻̣̝͚̾̎ ̵̨̨͚̤̗̓͗̐̌̉R̵̢̡̩̦̘̗̪͇̬̺̓͆̓́̀͜͠Ą̷̮͎͎͒Ğ̸̫͎̗̠͓̖͇Ę̵̧̺̹̣̫͚̹͔̞͋̂̈́̐̍̈́͐̋̚!̵̡̧̼̠͓̥͓̬̗͕̜̙̄̈́͋̈͑̒̉͆"̷̟͎͉́̒̚ ———————
Throughout the years, you’ve managed to avoid Cang Qiong and the other sects, even people that hurt you and Shen Jiu such as Wu Yanzi. (Although you killed him when you had the chance.) You taught A-Jiu everything you knew about being a cultivator, such as opening your spiritual sense and forming a golden core, and even stole some manuals that’ll help you.
You both lived out your days in a cave, which you redecorated to both of your liking. A-Jiu learned to sew robes for the two of you, the quality immaculate, as expected as the soon-to-be - now the former peak lord.
You taught him how to read and write, which garnered his suspicions. You told him the truth, how you knew the future, and how you retained your memories. At first, A-Jiu was in disbelief but soon believed you since you had knowledge that was above a slave.
You two lived happily…
Until people from the past came looking for Shen Jiu.

Hello I actually want to give this fanfic recommendation to you since I've been a big fan of your SVSSS fanfic "The Untold Tale" and I also see you post that you are a fan of the "Cheating Men Must Die" Manhua, I feel like you will be interested in this fanfic.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/54680944/chapters/138576439
"PROUD IMMORTAL VILLAIN WAY TO SALVATION" Is a fanfic crossover of SVSSS X Cheating Men Must Die. In the first three chapter it told the story of the original "Proud Immortal Demon Way" and SVSSS from the original Shen Qingqiu or Shen Jiu. It also give the twist that Shen Jiu is inside of Shen Yuan system all this time watching him using his body. The context of the story is in the end of chapter three Shen Jiu self destruct to free himself from the system clutch, resulting in Shen Yuan identity reveal because he lost the scum villan glamour resulting in everyone seeing his real face. The SVSSS timeline becomes a chaos of the scandal someone impersonating a Peak Lord.
The rest of the story is about Su Luxia transmigrating to a new timeline of Shen Qingqiu world with him being her client to change his fate. It's an interesting story and it have a similar flavor of the Cheating Men Must Die Manhua, because it gives the call out to the original story especially the ending where Shen Yuan never confess his real identity to Lou Binghe which resulting in the Chaos. And the main plot is Shen Jiu character development and him making an alliance with Su Luxia. He also learning to trust someone again and it's very heart warming. Especially when he become fond of our beloved bamboo rat Zhu Shu.
There's also a cameo of my favorite redeemed scum Ye Xuan from "Take Me Out" Manhua. I hope you will check it out and see your thought of it!!
Thank you for the rec and thank you for being a big fan of The Untold Tale. Y’all, here’s a recommendation to readers for a Shen Jiu centric fix-it fic, crossover with our femme fatale transmigration agent Su Luxia assisting SJ.
#svsss#shen jiu#crossover#cheating men must die#take me out#Shen Jiu redemption/ fix-it story#SJ readers you WILL like this#Su Luxia is the femme fatale badass we know and love#I…might not recommend if you like Shen Yuan 🥲 the fic’s premise hinges on SY’s alias being exposed as a transmigrator#and the writer doesn’t shy away from being cruel to him for impersonating Shen Qingqiu#ask#cunningflower#ty for the ask! and the fic rec!#(alas I like SY so this might not be something I’d read but I skimmed through the chs & the writing style is 👌)

Concept art for the main cast + some lore

I made Reader an albino so it's easier for me to describe and it also makes a bit more sense story wise

I tried to (and continue to) make him as close to his cannon self as they have almost the same backstory

Similarly to Shen Jiu I tried to make his personality similar but there are some differences mainly he doesn't take kindly to other men but he is still polite to them

系统错误 | SVSSS Fanfic
CHAPTER 1
Yuhong, a typical daytime female who had just graduated from college, boarded the bus as usual after visiting her friend's home. She looked through her phones as she searched for anything to do to pass the time. Novels. She wasn't a huge admirer of novels, but she also didn't consider herself to be a hater; she only read them because they were fascinating. The protagonist of the book "Proud Immortal Demon Way" is a young male pupil who killed his Shifu as a result of ongoing harassment and hostility. After Shen Qingqiu's passing, the majority of the novel was just plain pornographic with no discernible plot, which made Yuhong lose interest in the book.
Yuhong doesn't seem to have been the only one who was unhappy with it, as numerous more complaints were posted in the main comment section.
Luo Binghe had the option of choosing to be happier without the urge to exact retribution, but resentment and anger dominated his thoughts. He ultimately turned out to be no better than the monster he had previously battled. That's why it has a "abused becomes the abuser" vibe. Shen Qingqiu doesn't show Luo Binghe the affection he craves; instead, he is met with hostility and glares. Perhaps this is why he had so many affairs. That, however, does not justify his nasty behavior.
Shen Qingqiu wasn't deserving of being turned into a human stick and placed inside a pickle jar. Or maybe he did. Everyone has a different way of looking at the scenario, and some people believe that Shen Qingqiu's difficult upbringing should not be used as an explanation for his mistreatment of Luo Binghe. Others could choose to remain impartial because they think that both sides have committed sins. Others would counter that Shen Qingqiu was just jealous of Luo Binghe because the latter had a happy childhood while the former did not, as opposed to the main character.
Shen Qingqiu was initially only known to Yuhong as the villain, a cold-hearted Shifu, and as someone whose death was merited for torturing Luo Binghe. There is no history at all. Why would Shen Qingqiu abuse Luo Binghe in that way? Perhaps Shen Qingqiu was simply looking for someone to use as a punching bag for all of his issues, and Luo Binghe was the one he ultimately settled on?
Before moving on with her thoughts, Yuhong scowled at the idea.
The novel centers on Shen Yuan, a misfortune guy who was reincarnated into the body of Shen Qingqiu, otherwise known as the antagonist of the original book, in "The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System," an alternate version of the book with more plot than "Proud Immortal Demon Way". It provides further Shen Qingqiu background information.
Shen Jiu never experienced his own happy ending, as the saying goes.
•••
Yuhong was startled awake when she felt something, or more precisely someone, pulling on her arm. She was unable to recall anything that occurred after getting on the bus, and the ringing in her ears wasn't exactly helping either. She tries to open her eyes, but it takes her a few tries before she is able to see a hazy dark figure and an unfamiliar setting. As her sights grew clearer, she was able to make out a long, silky brown haired woman with lovely gray eyes that had a mixture of innocence and worry in them. She is no longer in the bus; instead, she is in a medium-sized room that is furnished with items that resemble those in manga, where the historical period is set in ancient China. She was lying on what seemed like a western four-poster bed.
"Ah, A-Ji! Finally, you're awake."
Yuhong offers the other woman a bewildered expression in response to the strange nickname she was given. She doesn't recall ever meeting the woman, yet the woman calls her with a familiarity that suggests they have been friends for a long time.
"Sorry, ma'am but I think you confused-"
Her surroundings were still, and the other female was standing still. She was somewhat startled as a blue screen suddenly appeared in front of her before she turned to face the screen.

Yuhong was able to determine the name of the other female and her present body using the information the machine had provided. She was awakened and welcomed by a woman named Xiyin when she first entered the world of this tale.
"Why was Xuan Ji killed by Luo Binghe?" Yuhong enquired with the system in the hopes that it might provide her with some additional context.

This simply serves to highlight how vicious and evil the actual Luo Binghe truly is! Just when Yuhong had a chance to settle down, become friends with the book's characters, and spend the rest of her days as a minor figure she had no idea even existed in the story. But since she couldn't recall how she died, she had to be reincarnated. Wait, does it even count as reincarnation? She must now live out the remainder of her days as Xuan Ji before dying at the hands of the main character, Luo Binghe. Oh wait, perhaps she could be more considerate toward Luo Binghe than the actual Xuan Ji, and one can only hope that Luo Binghe will remember her generosity and spare her life.
It as if the system could read her mind, the system immediately changed the word on the screen.
【ᴜsᴇʀ ɪsɴ'ᴛ ᴀʟʟᴏᴡᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴀᴄᴛ ᴏᴏᴄ ᴏʀ ᴇʟsᴇ ᴜsᴇʀ ɪs ɢᴏɴɴᴀ ɢᴇᴛ ᴅᴇᴅᴜᴄᴛ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛs ғʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ sʏsᴛᴇᴍ. ɪғ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴄʜ ɴᴇɢᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ 𝟷𝟶𝟶𝟶𝟶, ᴛʜᴇ ᴜsᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴄᴄᴏᴜɴᴛ ᴡɪʟʟ ʙᴇ ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ】
Terminated as in completely gone from existence? That seems like a bit of an overkill. For Yuhong, being slain is one thing, but having her existence completely obliterated... wouldn't that imply that her soul couldn't experience another reincarnation?
【ɪғ ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴘᴜᴛ ᴏɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜsᴇʀ, ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴇᴍᴏʀʏ ʟᴏɢs ᴏғ ᴜsᴇʀ's ᴇxɪsᴛᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴡɪʟʟ sᴛɪʟʟ sᴛᴀʏ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ғɪʟᴇs ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ sʏsᴛᴇᴍ. ʜᴏᴡᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀs ᴛʜᴇ ᴜsᴇʀ ʜᴀᴅ ɢᴜᴇssᴇᴅ ᴏɴᴄᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ ᴘʀᴏᴄᴇss ғɪɴɪsʜᴇs, ᴛʜᴇ ᴜsᴇʀ's sᴏᴜʟ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ɴᴏ ʟᴏɴɢᴇʀ ʙᴇ ʀᴇɪɴᴄᴀʀɴᴀᴛᴇᴅ. ᴅᴇᴄɪsɪᴏɴ ғɪɴᴀʟ】
Being too kind is therefore not an option. Yuhong let out a frustrated sigh that had a whiff of annoyance. She was not having any fun at all, and it was clear that the system was making things tougher than they needed to be.
"Wait, Xuan Ji is already a disciple of Qing Jing Peak?"

"Can I just avoid meeting Shen Qingqiu?"
Yuhong only needs to stay away from the setting of the plot and Shen Qingqiu in order to avoid seeing Luo Binghe, and if she did, she wouldn't be recommended for the disciple selection ceremony.

"A stream of other systems? So aren' t the only system around? Also I would gladly appreciated if you don't read my mind without my permission", Yuhong knew arguing with the system wouldn't work, but the fact that her every single thought is being monitored is basically a invasion of her privacy.

The blue screen vanished, leaving a frustrated Yuhong alone with her thoughts.
Clearly ignoring her inquiries, the system then abandoned her and left her to fend for herself. You crappy system, damn you!
She turned to check and noticed that the pause mode was still active.
"System, hey! You neglected to press the unpause button", the system stopped showing up, Yuhong yelled at nothing. She would be thought to be nuts for shouting at the air, if the environment weren't in pause mode.
Maybe she infuriated the system? Oh no, despite Shen Yuan cursing the system repeatedly, it continued to function. Therefore, it is implausible that the system actually abandoned her and put her surroundings on indefinite hold. Right??? Yeah, she wouldn't have to worry about being killed by Luo Binghe, which would seem good, but she doesn't want to live out the rest of her new life in a paused world!

Oh, thanks god...
Yuhong seems to have worried needlessly. She took a look around and saw that, as the system had predicted, there was a long, rectangular bronze mirror with lovely swirling curves on its sides. A beautiful woman with a slim build and dark black hair is reflected in the mirror. She is dressed in soft white fabric that suggests a clothing for a feminine cultivator.
She encircled a lengthy strand of hair with her thin finger. She was met with a long strand of black hair instead of her customary medium length straight brown hair. The hair was plainly considerably longer than Yuhong's typical hair length and had wavy ends without any broken ends. And finally she turned her gaze to the crimson eyes in the mirror. She noticed something dark near the wooden table in the backdrop out of the corner of her eye. Before moving toward it, she turned around with a her current body, spotting it was a black blindfold...

"This character deserves to be happy!" That is very rude of you to say. Have you considered that maybe that character thinks that they don't deserve to be happy? Have you considered the fact that they've become so used to being left behind, thrown away, and treated worse than trash that they've learnt to thrive when they're not happy? Have you considered the fact that when someone is used to having nothing, even a crumb of *something* makes them want to recoil into their own shell? Have you considered that the only form of roses that they want to receive are the ones that are withering away and covered in sharp thorns? That their hearts aren't just hardened but rather they've turned into something that only beats without purpose, just for the sake of moving forward with no expectations for anyone or anything?
Have you considered that they want you to wish happiness to someone who deserves it and not them, never them, the abandoned and rejected children, the soft pile of withering flesh that wouldn't dare to hope for more?

Shen Duzhe had no thoughts of being an older brother before, he didn't even know the concept till his younger brother was born. Despite their rocky beginnings, Shen Duzhe loves his brother and younger siblings very much.

The reader is called Dúzhě (读者) which means “reader”
Duzhe is male and the eldest Shen sibling here
There is some of my feelings as an older sibling
Shen Yuan’s younger sister will be called Hóng (虹) meaning “Rainbow”
Chapter 1 (Here) | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3
Chapter One
“Because you’re an older brother” are words that Shen Duzhe despised most. “You’re an older brother, be more mature” are words Shen Duzhe heard often. “As an older brother, you have to be responsible for your younger siblings” it was not like Shen Duzhe asked his parents for siblings and wanted to be responsible. “You’re siblings, you have to be nice” just because he shared the same blood as them does not mean he should automatically like them.
When Shen Duzhe first learned he was going to have a brother, he did not react much, after all, it was just him and his parents for much of his life up till his younger brother was conceived. And as a child of rich parents who worked so they could live comfortably and lavishly, Shen Duzhe lived without wants. He was more interested in the room his brother will be living in for the next two decades, as Shen Duzhe’s child brain thought it was a pleasant room to look at and the chair in there was very comfortable to sit in.
When Shen Jiu was born, Shen Duzhe was with his grandparents and when they drove to the hospital for him to meet his brother, he did think his brother was cute. As with most families, since Shen Jiu was a newborn he had most of their parents but Shen Duzhe was fine with it since as a rich family they had hired a nanny for Shen Duzhe and he was distracted enough to not feel resentful about it. And it was fun watching Shen Jiu as he wiggled around. It was when they were a lot older, when Shen Jiu started walking and talking that Shen Duzhe started resenting having a brother.
It was not because of Shen Jiu’s action though, it was the action of the people around them that made him feel a bit resentful. The constant words about having to be more mature, having to be more responsible, that if Shen Jiu was hurt or upset, Shen Duzhe was scolded for not keeping an eye on him. As such, the duty of being an older sibling. Such feelings of pressure and expectation of being the older sibling felt suffocating, that being responsible for another person’s well being felt unfair, especially when it resulted in their parents being upset with him. The day Shen Duzhe fully got what it meant to be an older sibling was when he encountered a terrified Shen Jiu after he woke up from a nightmare, a nightmare about his past life.
It was late at night and Shen Duzhe forgot to grab himself a bottle of water for his bedside. As he shuffled to the closest kitchen, out of sheer luck since he was lazily scanning the same old hallway, he spotted a lump huddle at the end of a window drape.
“Jiu Jiu?” Shen Duzhe called out as the lump was pretty small and no adult would hide in a curtain drape. All Shen Duzhe heard was a whimper in response. “Jiu Jiu, Fuqin and Muqin would be fine if you crawled into their bed,” Despite being resentful about the expectation of being a big brother, beside that topic, their parents do occasionally spend one-on-one or two-on-one with him. And Shen Jiu is still young enough that they don’t have to give him tough love yet. Shen Duzhe stood in front of the lump for a long awkward moment as this was technically the first time in a long while he was alone with his brother. “Jiu Jiu... did you have a nightmare?” Shen Duzhe can’t guess any other reason and he was right to guess as the lump flinched. “Again, Fuqin and Muqin will comfort you if you go to them,”
“Go away,” Shen Jiu finally responded, his voice muffled.
“...” Shen Duzhe, as smart as he was, was still a child, and as much as Shen Jiu was an adult reincarnated as a child, is a child with child level limitation now. So Shen Duzhe did what a child would do with a sibling, who in his mind was being unreasonable, and became aggressive. Shen Duzhe tried to drag Shen Jiu out of the drapes but Shen Jiu clanged onto it like his life depended on it till they both started crying in frustration. “Jiu Jiu! let goooooo!” Shen Duzhe sobbed.
“No.” Shen Jiu replied. As Shen Duzhe tugged on Shen Jiu, Shen Jiu started screaming his frustration out. “Why did I have to reincarnate with my memories! That stupid beast face keeps appearing when I sleep!”
“Jiu Jiu, no one is getting into our house without Fuqin and Muqin knowing or past Uncle!” Shen Duzhe replied.
“No! That beast is messing with me again!” Shen Jiu yelled. It was a miracle that the two have not woken up the entire mansion yet. After Shen Duzhe tugged Shen Jiu one too many times, Shen Jiu let go but then tackled Shen Duzhe and started hitting him. Surprisingly, to Shen Duzhe, Shen Jiu’s punch was pretty weak so he was not hurt that much beside his back as he fell on his back. As Shen Duzhe was distracted by his thoughts Shen Jiu started crying again which snapped Shen Duzhe out of his thoughts. “I can never escape! Always a slave! Never thought of!” As the fight left Shen Jiu, he sobbed on top of Shen Duzhe.
“...You would not be here if Fuqin and Muqin did not think of you,” As much as the word sounds sweet, Shen Duzhe is a seven year old child who was not a reincarnator so he was looking at Shen Jiu like he was stupid.
“Stop looking down at me! You hate me for taking your place!” Shen Jiu yelled.
“Huh? Why would I hate you?” Shen Duzhe asked.
“You hate me for taking your parent’s affection! You look down at me for being so weak!” Shen Jiu replied.
“That’s stupid,” Elegantly stated by the seven year old. “You are a baby, a baby could die from something simple like falling from your high chair. That’s not being weak, that is…” As Shen Duzhe tried to think what to say, Shen Jiu sobbed again and subconsciously clung to Shen Duzhe. Shen Duzhe awkwardly rubs his five year old brother’s back in comfort. “Uh, I don’t hate you, Jiu Jiu, I’m just annoyed with the grown ups telling me I have to be mature and responsible. And while I haven’t thought of having a brother, I don’t mind having you as my brother,” After a frustrating fight, the two sleep on the floor and as much as their parents wanted to be mad at the two for getting out of bed and ended up sleeping on the floor. They could see the two growing closer after their fight, especially since Shen Jiu now personally seeks out Shen Duzhe and Shen Duzhe spends time with him.
As the two got older Shen Jiu became an older brother too with the birth of Shen Yuan and later the birth of their younger sister, Shen Hong. Shen Jiu was put into therapy and Shen Duzhe now with a more developed brain had a better understanding of what Shen Jiu had said when they were younger and believed in him. After all, Shen Jiu was incredibly grumpy, unusually so, and Shen Duzhe saw far too many nights of Shen Jiu sneaking into his bed with haunting and terrified eyes. Shen Duzhe sometimes heard Shen Jiu begging someone called Yue Qi to not leave him.
—
“Jiu Jiu, you’re going to pop a blood vessel at this rate from how hard you hate-reading that web novel Yuan-er despises,” Shen Duzhe stated as he sat across the kitchen island from his brother Shen Jiu. After Shen Yuan showed Shen Duzhe and Shen Jiu the web novel that he thought was the trashiest of trash, Shen Duzhe and Shen Yuan noticed the change in Shen Jiu’s expression. The fact that Shen Duzhe’s beloved, pampered, spoiled, baby brother Shen Yuan, who can read a person like a brick wall also saw Shen Jiu’s change in expression was a concern. Was a concern for all of them. And Shen Duzhe connected the dots and when he looked back to Shen Yuan, it seems like he also connected the dots as when Shen Yuan and their baby sister, Shen Hong, was in their late preteens, Shen Jiu told them about his reincarnation.
“No. Don’t tell me, Gege, that Proud Immortal Demon Way… that Shen Qinggqiu-!” Shen Yuan started to yell.
“Yes…” Shen Jiu confirmed in a small voice. A voice Shen Duzhe has not heard since childhood.
“Yuan-er, call Meimei and get food,” Shen Duzhe ordered and Shen Yuan quickly left after yelling he will. Shen Duzhe closed Shen Yuan’s laptop and carried Shen Jiu’s to his room, in the apartment the two of them shared. Shen Yuan still lived with their parents and Shen Hong.
“And you’re ru-” Shen Duzhe cut himself off as he thought the word ruin might trigger Shen Jiu. “That is in the past, a past you cannot return to and a past that cannot reach you here. The you now is Shen Jiu, who is the treasured black jade of the Shen family,”
“Gege…” Shen Jiu stated after a moment of silence. Shen Duzhe stood up to stand next to Shen Jiu.
“In this life, you are a spoiled, pampered, rich second young master,” Shen Duzhe gently took the tablet, with Proud Immortal Demon Way open, out of Shen Jiu’s hand. “You have a good relationship with your siblings and parents so there is no need to fight for your position in the Shen family. You are in the modern world, so you're not restricted on how you act nor are you caged. You are free to do whatever and your family will support you in every way. You will never be hurt, our parents and your Gege will make any assaulter pay no matter what, no matter the price,” That might have sounded, as Shen Yuan would say, a bit Yandere at the end.
“... I’ll stop,” Shen Jiu said.
“Shall we catch a movie with Yuan-er and Meimai?” Shen Duzhe asked, hoping to brighten Shen Jiu’s mood.
“Can it be just the two of us?” Shen Jiu asked in reply.
“Alright,'' was Shen Duzhe’s answer.

Cool angst could totally be written about this because if we could make that connection why couldn't Shen Yuan? It could be the reason why he focuses so much on how much of a Villian the original is, makes it easier to live knowing the other person probably isn't. He would probably be terrified of the reactions of those around him too. A revelation fic could also be angsty too YQY maybe through interrogation/rough or not depends on how the writer is feeling, realizes the same fact.. Imposter Syndrome is not used often enough in the fics frrrrr, but the ones that do are immaculate
you ever think about how fucked up it is that shen qingqiu's first mission out of sect was him subduing the skinner, a demon who targeted and replaced people no one would really miss?
very fun how the skinner ended up getting killed and destroyed by someone else who took the place of a person no one really missed
