Maybe it's just that I have exquisite taste in followers and only follow people with exquisite taste, but in 2023 I see lots of Elementary and posts about how great it was and BBC Sherlock only comes up as a punchline. The arc of history truly bends towards justice.

a list of explicitly sexual things that have happened on the gay pirate show to date:
pete and lucius talked about how they like an audience after walking out of a doorless room where they had clearly been having sex (while wee john just chilled nearby)
jim and olu cuddled naked in bed and were inevitably walked in on by a crew that doesn't understand sock on the door language
stede heard mary and doug loudly having sex. like mary was very enthusiastically moaning go ofmd defend the importance of female pleasure
izzy's brain malfunctioned and he started moaning oh daddy in front of a very shocked audience
ed moaned so explicitly when stede stabbed him that izzy literally thought they were fucking
the lovely rendition of fang's cock (that was sexual lucius meant it to be)
(this one isn't sexual but it does pertain to the human body) buttons runs around bareassed every other day. like, you have seen his ass on screen. we have all seen his ass. the british navy has seen his ass
honorific mention to jack outright mentioning to stede that he and ed banged. it wasn't graphic but it established that this show is cool with men having sex with each other (in case it needed to be spelled out)
why on earth wouldn't the show where all of this has happened show a scene of ed and stede in bed (or elsewhere) together and explicitly indicate that sex was had/is being had/will be had (and most importantly, physical and emotional intimacy is being shared between these two people who have been deprived of and so desperate for it their entire lives, as the show has said and shown repeatedly)

Mr. Holmes! Wallet anon here! Thank you so much for the advice. The wallet and my ID have been successful recovered. Whew!
My plan was to go through every rubbish bin and dumpster around the location with your advice. At one point I had a row with a bloke who said, ‘my dumpster, my rule!’. So I mentioned your name and his attitude changed immediately. He summoned some friends out of nowhere and the wallet was found within a couple of hours. Well, Bill and I are friends now and he invited me to join ‘the network’.
Thank you again Mr. Holmes. If I could be of any help to you in the future, Bill knows how to get hold of me. Please say hi to the good doctor!
Hello.
I am glad I could be of help. Please give Wiggins my regards.

I don't think theres any evidence that Ben had been to this club recently. Hes just been exposed as a member (along with a dozen other actors and lots of high profile people)
Seems v unlikely that the exposure is about him
It's just unfortunate hes getting caught up in it (and obviously this wouldnt have happened if he avoided dodgy institutions like that)
You know how I know it was you? Because you all enjoy trying to lay traps, months and years in advance. It took seven years of arm twisting, huh? Well, I distinctly recall one of your crunchy little fake black, UK activists, declaring on Twitter, and I quote:
"I've been waiting nine years to get this fucker!"
So, you also got some steam started to go after Ben, for this bit of stupidity, and just sprung it. And don't even try that. 'Others were outed'. You all play this game; get some names to throw into an article for deflection. Those other tools know damn well that they will be left alone.
But...Ben is the ONLY person you trolls are concentrating on...aren't you?

The concept of queerbaiting annoys me. I was told that it refers to a work of fiction pretending to cater to a queer audience but then pulling back from it to avoid alienating homophobes, which is an incredibly specific thing. But a lot of people seem to think that it instead means "any time there's any gay subtex, metaphor, or ambiguity" or "whenever something from 1995-2012 was being a normal amount of homophobic for the era."

I noted this yesterday but couldn't form any thoughts on it until now.
Cos here we have Holmes outright going "Well first I'm going to eat, I've been out all day and I'm not going to have time later", while in following stories and common perception it's 'Sherlock Holmes forgets/refuses to eat when he's on a case'. Adding him 'devouring sandwiches at irregular hours' in the Second Stain - which is a much trickier case with arguably much higher stakes - it starts to seem like he?? Gets worse about food over time???
Maybe it's a consequence of Watson no longer living with him...

'The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes' Book Review By Ron Fortier
THE DAUGHTER OF SHERLOCK HOLMES
By Leonard Goldberg
Minotaur Books
303 pgs
When we breeze through a book of 300 pages swiftly, it is a sign that it is not only well written, but that the story itself is totally captivating. And both those elements are clearly present in this wonderful book. Of course it helps if you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan as we are.
The plot opens quickly in 1914. Sherlock Holmes has been dead for several years. His companion, widower Dr. John Watson, has made 221 B Baker St. his permanent resident and often enjoys the company of his son, Dr. John Watson the second. Watson senior occasionally sees people seeking assistance based on his time with the Great Detective. Such is the case when Miss Mary Harrelston arrives seeking their help in proving her older brother, Charles, did not commit suicide by hurling himself out of a two story downtown office building. The father and son amateur detectives soon learn that there were three eye witnesses to the man’s tragic demise; a Gardner working across the street at the time and a young widow taking a stroll with her ten year old son. They begin their investigation by interviewing the woman, a Mrs. Joanna Blalock and her son John.
Young Dr. Watson is taken not only by Mrs. Blalock’s beauty but also by her keen intellect. The attractive widow is immediately intrigued by their inquiries and begins to express her own misgivings as to the police’s verdict and what she witnessed. She volunteers to assist the two doctors in their quest for the truth and proves herself most adept in the role. Whereas Watson senior is already familiar with the woman and her lineage and when he reveals it in confidence to his son, the story’s narrative shifts into high gear.
“The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes” is a pure delight and Joanna Blalock is one of the most endearing detectives to inherit the legacy of Sherlock Holmes. Oh, that someone in Hollywood would latch on to this book. We can always dream.
