I really am not gonna get over Keyleth/Verin as a ship because like, they are WILDLY compelling for having come out of nowhere:

Verin will at the very least live another six hundred years, and is quite possibly functionally immortal via consecution.

They can commiserate about being thrust into the responsibility of commanding a force against extraplanar existential threats at a young age due to the (temporary) death of a parent in the role before them. This really does feel like a two nickels situation, if I'm being honest.

What are air magic and graviturgy if not different methods of achieving the same effect?

He's even a dramatic, long-haired goth with a complicated relationship with a fate deity and, if we're being honest, mommy AND daddy issues. Look at his Netherdeep art. Don't tell me Vax wouldn't approve.

I cannot bring myself to classify this as a crack ship because it is genuinely, bizarrely compelling in character.

(spoilers ahead) s3 finale legend of vox machina 10000/10 BUT

feel like they could've milked those last 3 episodes for at least double the run time.

It felt rushed compared to the rest of the season. I mean, each individual quest could've lasted just as much as the arc that led to Percy's death, but alas, Amazon and its season standardization is here to kill creativity and the arts.

The fact they rushed to tie up all the loose ends killed the emotional payoff they had set with earlier stakes. For example, Percy's revival and his reunion with Vex. Even Keyleth's declaration to Vax. Which btw, looking back, it's sad they put Vaxleth on the backburner. I'm a Perc'ahlia stan first and human second, but Vaxleth felt almost as a sidequest compared to how pivotal Perc'ahlia was to the season. I guess Vaxleth will have its moment to shine in the sun once...... the thing happens, but idk, I wish they had let us savor the moment a bit more for both ships.

I just wish, ya know, they'd given us a bit more brainrot.

Anyway both ships got to fuck this season and Vex still graced that pathetic, smitten sod with the best tits in Exandria ia so it's still a 1000/10 😌😌😌

Also! I gotta say I'm intrigued with how Percy will end up with Cabal's Ruin. I don’t watch the live play (shh don’t judge me i have a short attention span) but as far as I understood, the last fight with Ripley is where Percy would have gotten it?? I guess they're saving that for the Vecna arc.

Anyway, I still love it lol and I'm glad they did bring back best boy no mercival percival because his existence holds my sanity with the thinnest mf thread 😌 and when i tell you i was at the edge of my seat when we were halfway through the finale and there was still no sight of my favorite dumbest nerd.

tiktok cr fandom pisses me off because i saw a post saying that Vax being afraid of the future and rejecting Keyleth was 'misrepresenting Vaxleth' when their relationship is fucking WRITTEN BY VAXLETH. IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM TO MISREPRESENT THEIR OWN SHIP WITH THEIR OWN CHARACTERS.

Glintshore is going to mean something different in The Legend of Vox Machina than it did in the original campaign

At this point in campaign 1, Vex and Percy has not yet hooked up and had been dancing around their feelings for each other. Laura and Taliesin have both said that Vex and Percy would never have admitted their feelings for each other hadn’t Percy died and Vex made her plea to him (true love’s Nat 20).

In fact, Taliesin has said that he was ready to let Percy die permanently and move on with his backup character (fun fact: it was actually Mollymauk from Campaign 2 that was his backup C1 character) but Laura’s choice and the Nat 20 roll was too much to simply ignore (and thank god for that because Perc’ahlia is my prized ship and my Roman Empire).

The timeline of things being very different in TLOVM means that we’ve gotten a sort of sped up development of not only the relationship between Percy and Vex but the relationship Percy has with himself. As we’ve been seeing in the show, Percy seems much lighter, much less burdened by the weight of Orthax and revenge. In episode 6, we see him have a touching moment of with Vex about the future, talking about his hopes for Whitestone.

In the campaign, he was still carrying around this weight of guilt and shame in a way that wasn’t dealt with like it was in the show (with his self sacrifice in Ank’Harel, taking responsibility for inventing guns- bringing widespread consequences across all of Exandria). This never happened in the live stream. Glintshore ended up acting like this penance: Percy dying at the hands of the very weapon he created.

Since we’ve seen a more “carefree” happier Percy in the show, and he’s already had his moment of self flagellation, Glintshore is going to mean something else in the show.

Of course, we all know this is going to be a wake up call for Vex to finally admit her love for him and stop pretending she can just fool around with him -heart be damned. I think it’s going to mean a lot for Vax and Keyleth too.

Since they’ve set up plot line that Vax is the one concerned about Keyleth’s long life span, I feel like Percy’s death is going to wake Keyleth up tot he fact that everyone she knows and loves will die before her, and she’ll see a little bit more where Vax is coming from- and I think Vax is going to start to realize that Keyleth can handle herself around loss and that he’s being an absolute fool by pushing her away.

Like Marisha’s said in interviews, these upcoming episodes are going to deal with facing fears- and I think Percy’s death and finding a way to resurrect him is going to touch on a lot more of Vox Machina’s fears than just Percy and Vex. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

Vax´ildan X Keyleth

I had to get them out of my system. I watched The Legend of Vox Machina for its fantastic art and animation. I didn't care much about the characters, and Keyleth was the only one I kind of liked. I didn't think Vax was a good match for her because, in the animated series, he seemed overly attached to his sister and didn't do anything special for Keyleth.

So, I decided to read up on their story. As a sucker for tragedy, I ended up shipping them! It's a shame the animated series couldn't do their arc justice due to time constraints.

Death in DnD seems like a joke. When death isn't absolute, life loses its preciousness. I still remember the shock I felt when Drizzt Do'Urden's wife was reincarnated after he broke up with his lover. What kind of romance arc is that? Ugh.

In contrast, Vax and Keyleth had a more bitter-sweet romance, featuring undying love and years of pining, which only can be found in fantasy romance.

Of course, I feel sorry for poor Keyleth.

Some verleth headcanons because this ship has a hook in me and I need more content:

Verin and Keyleth become penpals and he learns how to press flowers and flora properly so he can send her little things from Xhorhas he thinks she’d like with his letters

Keyleth keeps them all in a book because she finds it cute (he blushes when he finds out)

Verin tries desperately to keep a plant in his home alive so he can proudly show Keyleth if she comes to visit. He calls it his “Keyleth plant” and talks to this plant about her (like the himbo he is) and when Keyleth finds out she thinks its adorable

Keyleth lets out her rage in sparring matches with Verin and finds it very cathartic, he’s a good sparring opponent but she always wins

When talking about Vax everyone in VM is too close to it all and she feels very free talking about it with Verin, who understands grief and offers a different approach and perspective on it as a drow

Verin really admires Keyleth’s leadership and becomes a better commander in Bazzoxan because of it

One evening during one of his visits to Zephrah they’re lying on a hill looking at the stars and Verin is telling Keyleth Xhorhassian constellation stories and she’s so peaceful she falls asleep on his shoulder. He keeps watch and it’s the best night watch he’s ever had
