OMG HOW AM I SO STUPID NETVERSE HORROR SHOULD BE A PARK RANGER AAAAAAA
ok ok so it should still work. like, it's farmtale. they should have protected parks/forests near an agriculture town right? horror can be a park ranger there it would be so cool honestly. he can apply his skills in to combat poachers and trespassers. he used to live in a town near a forest, he would know some stuff for sure.
also horror's a vegetarian because i said so.

hm. realizing now that the fluffy hood thing on. fluff. is definitely his defining feature. but the thing is i love a good fur trim so i'm gonna have like at least 3 other characters with the same idea and he's not unique at all. god dammit
#rambling like hell in here time yall know the drill#the majority of the Other furred skeletons only rlly have that design after / rlly close to the end of the main arc#so like. i Could just redesign him as defurred at that point so he'll still stand out#but like no the fuck i cant are you kidding me HIS NAME IS /FLUFF/#AAAAGH BUT I HATE HAVING REPEATED KEY FEATURES ON DIFFERENT DESIGNS............#WHY DO YOU THINK I ALWAYS CHANGE THE HELL OUTTA ANY BATTLE BODY I DRAW#cries and screams and wails#the inciting incident for this is me recently deciding that karma should get him a fur trimmed cloak#because he deserves it and it would be sick but also as another good callback to underfell to go w/ the gold tooth#however. that makes him . counts on fingers . number Four#one of them is at least another swapfell papyrus but only if you squint really#when you give characters details as big & immediately identifying as furry hoods you don't wanna use those for more than a few at once#or else it gets harder to 1. tell the characters apart from each other & 2. discern what the design itself is trying to communicate to you#(aka the reason half of vivziepop's character designs blend together despite /technically/ being diverse)#but. but its so fucking fun to draw and it can COMMUNICATE different THINGS#maybe i can defur that one king guy. its not really relevent to anything he's got going on anyway its just a lil more unique/regal#but. sniffs. i can go with something else. its fine. bites lip

Alright, I’ll be honest. I’ve been searching ao3 for an Undertale fic where the main character is a human and falls to the underground, yadda yadda, but once they make it out of the ruins (because really, who dies in the ruins??), they die. However, instead of resetting (if they even can, as their soul may not be very DETERMINED), they just decide willingly(? I mean they were murdered, but they agreed post-mortem, probably because dying hurts like a buttcheek on a stick) to be used to help break the barrier. However, to make it more interesting, they absorb themself(?? I cannot think of a better way to word this) into the monster who killed them, or a monster they just like good enough, and refuse to be absorbed by Asgore.
And actually yeah I’m staking my claim on this idea, I’m just putting it out there because I wish it to be so
My brain kinda took it in the direction of ‘the human is terrified, but also a Sneaky Snitch and makes their way through the entirety of the ruins without running into a single monster (excluding maybe Flowey, but they’d definitely run away from him), and run through all the way to the pre-Snowdin area (does that area have a name? It’s not Snowdin, but it’s snowy). However, we are going on the assumption here that in the game or original timeline or whatever, Toriel asked Sans to make the promise to her after Frisk met her and stayed a while. This is important because after the stick on the ground breaks, the mc snaps around, and then they fucking die. Since they rushed through the ruins and dodged meeting Mom.
So now that they’re dead, soul light blue, displaying their Patience (which was already shown, since it took for-fucking-ever to solve the puzzles in the ruins without help, while also avoid encountering any monsters safely). They freak out for a while, and when they regain composure, Sans is looking at them weird, talking to them about how ‘I knew that human souls stuck around after death, but I didn’t realize they kept their consciousness,’ and explaining what would happen to them to calm them down, making at least three puns during his whole spiel.
So the human, deciding ‘fuck it, I’m already dead and this guy’s fuckin hilarious,’ absorbed themself (still cannot think of any way to word this better) into Sans, granting him a fuckton more power and dodge time, because patience doesn’t mean you can take hits. Sans, very confused and vaguely distressed, does not know what to do, and just takes a shortcut to Undyne.
And then it continues escalating from there, probably

'Caledonian Forest'
" Written by Titus Ursus, Primus pilus of Legiō IX Hispana, in the third year of Hadrian's reign (* 120 AD). This will probably be the last entry in my diary. Our legion was ambushed in the wild realm called Caledonian Forest and was almost completely annihilated. Half of my first cohort is all that was left of the IX legiō. We were pushed into the marsh and we will probably die here, fighting bravely to the end in the name of Rome and the Emperor. We were attacked by a demonic pack of the barbaric Picts. They looked more like wild beasts than humans. Some of them were dressed in animal furs, painted with strange runic signs... others seemed to be two-legged wild beasts. They tore us apart as if we were made of paper! I saw our legatus and my brothers in arms being eaten alive, I will never forget their screams. The barbarians attacked us unnoticed, quickly and with wild fury, then disappeared in the fog. Mainly at night. Our shields, swords and armor were no use here. The enemy we face seems to be the ancient wrath of some dark gods we have awakened. We should never invade these lands. I hear demonic howls, they're coming! They're coming! "
Scrap of the papyrus written by Centurion Titus Ursus. Found in October 120AD in the Caledonian Forest. Taken to Rome, where it was presented to the emperor and then burned. Two years later, Emperor Hadrian ordered the construction of a wall on the border of the land called Caledonia, in north Britannia. Coincidence? I don't think so :)) work process: https://jrozalski.com/projects/Ke94zG

What if their s/o just yelled "Come here, pretty boy!!" before grabbing the sides of their face and covering them with kisses
THAT'S SO CUTE FUCK YEAH!!!
Mafiatale Sans: You've never seen Sans so blue! He's going to be stupidly flustered, both from the kisses and the nickname. He'll try his best to play it off, make a stupid pun, but you can very clearly see the effect you had on him. He's going to be blue for several minutes.
Mafiatale Papyrus: This is a dream come true!!! He's wanted to wake up to a shower of kisses, but this is better than he ever could have expected!!! Getting countless kisses from his loved one, and getting called pretty??? You can guarantee that he's going to repay the favor once you're done!
Mafiaswap Sans (Lucky): He's heard a lot of flattery in his life, but pretty boy is new! The only thing more unexpected than that is you immediately covering his entire face in kisses. He'll laugh and blush until you're done. You should be honored, it takes a lot to fluster him! Don't worry though, he'll make sure you're equally flustered later~
Mafiaswap Papyrus (Slim): Poor Slim is practically going to shut down. He has no idea what's going on, why are you kissing him so much? Because you love him?? What is this madness??? He's not going to recover for at least an hour, but the good news is that now you know a foolproof way to see his adorable blush!
Mafiafell Sans (Butch): Like Lucky, he's been called a lot of names, but never this one. He...kind of likes it! Or that could just be the countless kisses. Either way, he's going to melt, loving all the attention. As soon as you're done though, he's going to go crazy trying to make you feel just as good~
Mafiafell Papyrus (Noir): Pretty? Him??? Wrong, he is great and terrible and very handsome! Wait, he didn't say to stop! He's going to relish in every single kiss you give him, he never thought he would ever have a partner as wonderful and sweet as you!
Mafiaswapfell Sans (Scar): He'll freeze for a moment. For a second, he thought you were attacking him. Which, you kind of are. Attacking him with love! As soon as he realizes what's happening, he's going to melt into your arms, but refuses to admit how much he loves your treatment. How did he ever manage to find someone as perfect as you?
Mafiaswapfell Papyrus (Hound): Pretty boy? He's your pretty boy?? Fuck yeah!!! He'll laugh a bit and happily accept the kisses, but I hope you're not wanting to go anywhere anytime soon. If you treat him so nicely, he's going to want to hold you for at least an hour. Get comfortable, angel!

[experiment]: {2/2}
(I will refer to the Undertale versions by their names—Doctor Gaster, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne—and the Othertale versions by their nicknames. Shade, Color, Ivory, Sage.
I have the first part linked in the numbers if it’s hard to see.)
Sans rushes to tell Gaster, but he is not as excited as Sans thought he would be. He tells Sans to immediately go back and extract “the energy” before it does anymore damage to her body.
When Sans protests, confused because he thought this is what Gaster wanted, a frustrated Gaster explains nothing. Just tells Sans to go back and do as he’s told.
Sans can’t bring himself to tell Undyne the truth and ruin her happiness—so instead he tells her to get some sleep.
Undyne is disappointed because Gaster isn’t there, and worries about what if he comes back and she’s asleep—to which Sans assures her he’ll wake her up if Gaster comes back.
(It really seems like Undyne was attached a lot to Gaster. Wanting him to share in her excitement, feeling safe when he’s around.)
And then, of course, Sans extracts the energy from the girl’s eye when she’s sleeping.
Tumblr media
He does it with just a hand. Painless and quick—the energy goes easily back to him before Sans dismisses it.
(If hands can give and take magic energy—perhaps also as a tie into to Gaster, the man with holes in his hands and “speaks in hands”—then perhaps that explains why Color needed physical contact with Ivory to reopen her eye.
He just chose to punch her lmao. Such as difference from their interactions in this short.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This what we see if we slow it down the moment that the screen glitches. Because Gaster fell (jumped?) into the Core.
We see that what happened to Color also happened to Gaster—possibly creating a different version of Undertale the way Sans’ erasure created Othertale.
And above see Color over Sans. Perhaps this is him immediately after absorbing the souls. He appears to be bleeding from the eye and mouth—and the look on his face seems dizzy with pain and shock.
The glitch is enough to cause Undyne to wake up, confused and in pain. She asks Sans what happened, and he replies that he needs to check on someone—but when she asks who, he says he doesn’t know.
It appears the process of forgetting Gaster was immediate. After this, we get this scene where Sans finds a picture/drawing in the Core:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This makes me think that Gaster jumped.
Don’t forget written, his frustration and shame about his perceived constant failures, Sans seems concerned about him and him being alone, the way there’s this mystery mistake that Gaster did.
The way Gaster still seems to keep a distance from Sans even when the other reaches out, the seemingly increasing arguments between them, the way Gaster claims that the energy in the eye would damage Undyne’s body and Sans should remove it immediately—yet doesn’t go to do it himself or check on Undyne despite being shown to be an attentive doctor whose patients feel safe and comfortable with him.
The way he refuses to explain himself or what he wants to Sans, shutting down any attempt to connect or understand—ordering Sans to do as he’s told. The way the world glitches and Sans’ immediate thought is that he needs to go check on someone, despite not even knowing who he has to check on.
I don’t know. It seems to me that a stream of constant mistakes tore down Gaster with shame and guilt, one he couldn’t pull himself out of even when his experiment finally succeeded.
A lot of the relationship between Gaster/Shade and Color/Sans seems to be driven by anger and guilt and a sense of responsibility.
Sans seems to feel a responsibility to keep a look out for Gaster, but also seems to not want to intrude on his space and Gaster seems likely to avoid and snap at Sans—possibly because he may be a reminder of his failures.
It seems opposite in the Void. Shade seems to feel a responsibility to look after Color’s mental, physical and emotional health—and Color just seems too drained and at the end of his rope to even be able to attempt to reciprocate.
Gaster may have committed suicide (or intended to) by jumping in the Core, and Color has almost killed himself trying to escape the Void and only survived because of Shade.
It gives me the vibes that Shade is putting Color on suicide watch, and Color is irate about it because—unlike Shade—Color isn’t trying to die or wanting to die, he’s trying to escape. Or at least that’s what Color may be telling himself, and is lashing out verbally at Shade for stopping him.
Which adds yet another parallel to Color and Stage 1 Killer. Having their choice to die or attempts to self harm or attempts to escape taken away from them by others (Killer because someone still wants to use him, Color because Shade feels responsible for him and guilty and probably also doesn’t want to be alone in the Void and forgotten if he truly did write the “Don’t forget.”)

Wait I'm still trying to get it all right- ((Disappointing ik 💀))
SO
UF Bitty sans name is Edgy, UT Bitty is Sansy, US bitty is Baby Blue, whats HT bitty?
And, the basics nicknames?
Do the baras go by nicknames too? (Wait that's dumb ofc they do-.... Probably)
Their name isn't technically Edgy, Sansy, Baby Blue. That's the type of bitty they are, but if they don't have a name yet, they can go by that type. (They usually get names later) HT bitties are Sansy bitties so they don't have a type name.
Some of the bitties have names in my comic. UF Sans named his bitty, "Little Shit". Little Shit wasn't going to accept that as his name till US Sans complained it wasn't appropriate, and then did a 180 saying it's a great name. Horror Sans named his "Snack" Classic Sans doesn't give his bitty a consistent name, he uses nicknames like "little buddy" or "mini me," that sort of thing.
I don't do the tumblr thing where I give them each a nickname, they're all Sans and Papyrus, respectively, cause that's their name.
However in world, they often don't refer to each other as such because a lot of them consider themselves to be the OG and therefor the other Sans should be the one to change their name. (Bitties don't know their true name is Sans, they think that's a bitty variety because all their souls state that their name is Sans)
In my comic, UF Sans calls Classic Sans different things along the lines of, "dumbass clone number two" or "Sans the Skeleton number two" or just two, depending on how he's feeling at the moment. This is because Classic Sans is in his universe and so from his perspective, Classic Sans isn't the original. Classic Sans knows he is the original but doesn't care to correct anybody. Blue think's he's the original because clearly all the other Sans have something wrong with them! (lazy) HT Sans knows his ending is fucked up and wrong and he's probably not the original and would prefer that he wasn't the original anyway. HT Sans also calls Classic Sans "Baby Face" or "Baby Cheeks" referring to Classic Sans being his younger self without the uh... beauty mark. UF Sans calls HT Sans names such as "Freak" or "Freak Face" to be both aggressively rude, and because the guy does creep him out. Blue usually calls them some kind of description that makes them stand out + me, and likewise Papyrus does this with other Papyrus.
Oh, one final one. HT Sans calls Outertale Sans "Sparkles" and sometimes "Sprinkles" like he's the tasty pretty toppings on a cupcake.

I don’t know if I subscribe to the ‘sans is from Deltarune’ idea, I don’t think I do, but I think anyone who does should embrace feminism and accept that if he is from Deltarune, Alphys is, too.
People note the fact that sans and Papyrus don’t have a specific backstory in UT as evidence that they came from DR, with QC simply saying that they showed up one day and asserted themselves into town. Well, in Undertale, Alphys also doesn’t have an early history either. We don’t even know how old she is in comparison to other characters, like Undyne who speaks about training with Asgore in childhood, and Toriel and Asgore with their hundreds of years old history. THIS is the earliest bits of info we have on her.
Tumblr media
She sought out Catty and Bratty… and then she sought out Mettaton… weird, huh? Almost like she’s trying to find things that are familiar ;)
People also bring up Sans’s crossword puzzle with a picture of Ice-E printed on it. A very strange thing indeed, considering we don’t see Ice-E’s Pezza mentioned anywhere else. Or… or do we? Because there’s a silly little fun value event you can get in Snowdin, in which a character with a familiar sound to her text tries to prank call a pizzeria. A character who is like. Absolutely, obviously Alphys. But there is no pizzeria in the underground as far as we know, right…?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sans has al Ice-E, Alphys has a pizza… the fact that both moments, and the chance to speak to Clamgirl about Suzy and find the ‘Don’t Forget’ note, have fun values assigned to them is very telling. Wether it actually adds to the tinfoil hat theory I’m pitching or not, I’m gonna stay convinced that this event IS meant to be a Deltarune joke from Toby
And this is not the only secret Sans and Alphys share. The two are connected in a way that is never explicitly discussed or revealed. Most people brushed it off as them having maybe worked together on the amalgamates, but there is nothing in Alphy’s entries that could indicate this aside from some of them being written poorly.
and yet, they know each other so well, Alphys can predict his jokes before he says them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But how can I prove that they know each other from Deltarune, specifically?
I can’t lol that’s not how these theories work
But the reason ‘Sans is from Deltarune’ became so wide spread and believable in the first place is because it answered the question of what he had hidden in his lab, and where it was that he wanted to return to. It solved the secret of his machine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, my theory explains why Alphys had her name written in barely legible handwriting all over said machine’s blueprints. They were trying to return to Deltarune.
Tumblr media
Wake UP ‘Sans is from Deltarune truthers, Alphys stocks are higher than they’ve ever been- even when compared to Undertale’s popularity peak in 2016. It is time to capitalize on it.

The Court AU has me DEAD!!! If you’d be willing, what sort of outfits would they wear? I’d love to draw them!
Anon, I had so many tabs open looking up medieval-type fashion and armor, we're talking like 30+, felt super awesome finishing this and closing them all 😌
Anyway--
Sans (Undertale): What’s black and blue and white all over? Why, him of course! His jester’s motley features a black-and-white diamond pattern, offset by bright, rich, royal blue—a mark of his service to the king. He doesn’t wear one of those silly hats, though…because he wears a silly hood instead! Less chance of falling off, you see. When not in costume he tends toward simple tunics, of decent material and often still in blue.
Papyrus (Undertale): Almost never out of full plate armor, even in downtime, he has to dress for the job he wants and that means being a shining metal bastion of knightly glory at all times! …Though he does often remove his helmet and hold it by his sword at his hip, or fasten it to his steed’s side. He’s a very handsome skeleton, it would be cruel to deny the people the chance to see their hero’s face!
Sky (Underswap Sans): Soft blues and yellows, as a squire only lightly armored—greaves and pauldrons, a mail shirt beneath his tunic if he’s expected to go into battle—but he considers even that much armoring to be overkill for what he’s doing. Still, his Captain insists, and it makes his brother feel better, so he takes care protecting himself. He has some nicer finery to wear about court, as a nobleman, but tends simpler for anything that might be dirtied or torn in training.
Paps (Underswap Papyrus): Rich green and earthy browns, his clothing tends to be without ostentation—no embroidery, no gold buckles or buttons, or anything especially elaborate. He may be noble but he’s a scholar and a recluse and prefers not to stand out much. Still, the fabrics of which his clothing is made are always fine, as coarse or stiff materials quite put him off. Mostly cottes—long belted tunics—with the occasional robe over, if it's cold.
Jasper (Underfell Sans): Blacks and browns, sturdy plain clothes which can stand up to considerable wear and tear. Often wears a short diamond-quilted gambeson and some leather armor (vambraces and greaves), but always has a sword belted to his hip and a cloak made of dire-wolf’s fur draped over his shoulders. If ever he should need to acknowledge his denounced family name, he does have some finer clothing stored away somewhere—in red—and a shiny gold signet ring with his family crest on it.
Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Usually in half plate armor, dark metal heavily scratched and scorched, dents meticulously hammered back out. He also wears a tattered red cape about his shoulders that billows quite majestically behind him when he rides or runs into battle. He will occasionally dress down in laced tunics and breeches, still in red and black, fine but not too fine as to raise suspicion about his heritage. Should all that ever come out, he does have a suit of pristine night-black armor he’s been dying to inherit and a silken cape to pin about it with a golden clasp of the family’s crest.
Mal (Swapfell Sans): Mostly black but flaunts his privilege and royal ties with purple accents wherever possible. Brigandine armor with a fine gold-plated gorget and pauldrons and a few other ornamental trappings—he is the Empress’ personal guard and must in some capacity be as elegant. Very fine doublets and tunics for his (rare) downtime, often with gold threading, but not fond of most jewelries.
Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): Dark colors and crisp whites, noble yet eccentric, he has a lot of fine doublets and other such court-wear but tends not to actually…wear them. He can mostly be found in loose-fitting cottes, baggy sleeves often penned up by leather armlets to keep them out of his paints. He has a fur-hooded cloak for travel or cold weather, but he rarely leaves his rooms, much less the castle, so he doesn’t don it often.
Slate (Horrortale Sans): Dark browns and off-white cream, simple rough-hewn clothing showing signs of wear and occasionally odd stains. He works in the stables, with animals, and being around animals so much makes it difficult to keep clean. He has a somewhat decent dark blue cloak that he’ll wear into town for errands, or in polite company—it has a hood to conceal the great jagged hole in his head that tends to make the squeamish or timid flinch away from him.
Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): Still hasn’t quite shaken the habit to be armored, even when it isn’t necessary, but he’s cut down from full plate to chain mail only, much lighter and easier to move around in—which is vital when hurrying to the training field for an accident, or running to meet a wounded knight at the gates. He wears a simple tabard over his mail, blue with red edging (the Queen’s colors), and keeps a pouch of bandages and other aid supplies belted to his waist instead of a sword.
Ash (Undergloom Sans): The livery of the king’s court, gray and gold, but dyed into fabrics suitable for common folk. He still wears gray when not performing at court, tunics so thickly woven they could pass as a gambeson and often paired with hooded cloaks, but he keeps his golds set aside until needed to keep them in good condition. He takes equal care of his shiny brass sackbut (it’s a horn, with a very funny name but an instrument nonetheless) so it always plays well.
Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): Off-white and tan linens, loose and breathable for hot work in the kitchens, sleeves rolled up and pinned at the elbows to keep them from getting in the way. Always an apron about his waist, occasionally with food stains after a long day’s work but these he quickly tends to as soon as he’s able. He has nothing in the way of real finery but tries very hard to make sure what he has is clean and presentable.
Brick (Horrorfell Sans): Fine brocaded doublets of rich red and shining gold thread, as a duke and brother to a king, he does have to dress the part a bit. He wears more jewelry, especially rings, but nearly always still has his dire-wolf fur cloak over his shoulders. When called for executions, he dresses down quite a bit, in simple black cloth with only a leather pauldron over one shoulder to help brace the weight of his axe before he swings.
King (Horrorfell Papyrus): Half plate armor essentially at all times, even formal or polite occasions—he’s the owner of a stolen throne and all too aware that it could be stolen from him the same way he got it. His breastplate is scaled and his pauldrons are elaborately spiked, but it’s all black. The only pop of color on him is his crown, the same worn by Asgore and Undyne, gold and sharp, with rubies inlaid.
Merc (Horrorswap Sans): Chain mail over a finely-made kaftan and beneath a traveling cloak, the latter two with signs of wear from a long journey. His head is notably absent of a crown—left behind in the kingdom he fled—but a new one awaits him soon, of flashing silver and blue stone, depicting the phases of the moon. When fully established in his new kingdom, he may begin dressing as a proper king again, draping himself in the blue and silver finery of the land that sheltered him.
Ell (Horrorswap Papyrus): Browns, greens, and blacks, he wears light leather armor—really just a breastplate and vambraces—and a thick woolen cloak about his shoulders. He has no need of greaves for his shins, legs lost to an accident in the wilderness, but supplanted by magical prosthetics, living blackened wood provided by his land when he called upon it for aid. …Not that he’s fully accepted that it’s his land, keeping his crown of twisting copper and emerald tucked away in a saddlebag instead of on his brow. Maybe someday…
Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans): Rich purple and verdant green, amidst a sea of black—he favors very fine fabrics with open lacing at the chest. Still not especially fond of jewelry, but wears considerably more decorative leather braces on forearms, shins, and even the occasional full-chest corset. (He has some chronic pain and the extra pressure and support in certain spots helps.) He wears considerably more plain clothes for knight-training purposes and when traveling wears a black cloak with a cowl that comes down over the hole in his face at a point, as the beak of a raven.
Nemo (Horrorswapfell Papyrus): Usually in half plate splint mail armor for his patrols along the wall, but favors rusty oranges, brown and black for the tunics and boots and breeches he wears out of it. Often carries a lantern, and always has tinder in a pouch on his hip. Beside his pouch is a war-horn in case an alert would need to be called, loud enough to make everyone come running if it’s ever sounded.
Sunny (Gastertale Sans): A cavalierly styled courtier, at first having made do with graciously lent clothing and now being able to buy his own in a whole variety of rich colors—yellow, blue, magenta, and on. His aim is to look at home in court, which means he must dress as other courtiers do, so he has doublets and fine tunics and many, many fashionable capelets with embroidery and stylish pins, as well as a few equally chic plumed hats. The other courtiers look to him now for the latest fashion trends and he couldn’t be happier.
Aster (Gastertale Papyrus): A bit more subdued in style than his brother…though only a bit. He favors black frocks, almost as a cleric would wear, but beneath them, elegant doublets in greens and yellows as vibrant as anything his twin wears, with fine silver filigree work in his buckles and pins and clasps. He’s the pinnacle of restrained class and taste and it’s no wonder at all that the king should respect him so highly if his care in thought is as his care in appearance.
Spectr (Transcendtale Sans): Deep, dark black from head to toe, most prominently a long hooded cloak with two eye-lights glowing in the darkness. He always wears gloves and never lets his hood down, as he’s not especially fond of his metal bones and doesn’t really wish to be seen. It’s difficult to see in the daytime, but at night he’s trailed by faint wisps of ghostly light in all colors of the rainbow, such a strange sight that many a drunkard who’s seen him has poured out their bottle presuming they’d had quite a bit too much.
PapAIrus (Transcendtale Papyrus): Full plate armor, of course, but as he’s now some sort of spectral entity, it (and he!) glows and is slightly see-through. Being ghostly has washed out his colors quite thoroughly which is unfortunate—mostly all white with hints of silvery blue—but on the up-side he seems able to change his appearance some by will alone, donning or discarding his helmet at will, manifesting a majestic cape for himself out of the ether, and so on. It seems a fair enough trade to him!
Xanth (Ascendswap Sans): A man at court now, he’s donned an eye-patch and abandoned the trappings of prospective knighthood, fully embraced courtier fashion…if a bit ‘eccentrically.’ He favors bright yellows and spring greens, flowing garments of fine cloth layered beneath and over leather vambraces, gorget, and tasset. All these are elaborately, intricately designed and certainly make the similarly intricate gold jewelry (with multicolored gems) that he wears at wrist and neck stand out, but it’s hardly in fashion… Still, the mystic’s thinking is often inscrutable.
Piper (Ascendswap Papyrus): Unlike his brother, very fashionable and eye-catching, in rich amaranths and brilliant turquoises, with even the occasional lavender. He has many fine embroidered doublets, threaded liberally with gold, and wears many pieces of gold jewelry as well—necklaces, bracelets, pins, and brooches. When showing the birds of the crown at court or bidding them on a royal hunt, he wears the livery of the crown-proper—royal purple and gold—and always has a thick leather falconer’s glove on his left hand.
Carmine (Underfell Fruition Sans): What’s black and white and red all over? Well, newspapers haven’t been invented yet, so it’s him, of course! He’s no jester so he hasn’t a motley to wear to work, but he is a performer and does dress in the livery of the king, which is red and black. The material is a bit finer than he’s used to, but being that he’s no longer wearing rags and rotting in a hole, he’s quite pleased with it and doesn’t mind the bright colors that help him attract the eyes of many comely nobles at court. Off-duty, he sticks to loose, somewhat open tunics—red still very much preferred.
Tank (Underfell Fruition Papyrus): Laced linen shirts, not especially loosely fitting due to his largeness in the chest and shoulders but he hasn’t burst any seams in awhile so the measurements must be somewhat correct. He’s fond of white and a true connoisseur of red, all shades from dark to very light. He keeps an array of small carpentry tools—hammers, chisels, things for measuring—in a roll on his hip, a dedicated apprentice to the core.
Vi (Swapfell Fruition Sans): All black, pourpoint armor beneath fine silk doublets but almost disappointingly plain otherwise—no embroidery, no ornament, or stitched pattern, or brocade. Over this he wears a cloak, equally fine and with at least some ostentation, a bit of silver stitched decoration that matches the intimidatingly clawed silver gauntlet he wears upon his left hand—a symbol of his wealth, if not his status. These flashy items are for matters of court only, as he has a much more nondescript hooded cloak and less identifiable sharp implement which he uses for matters of stealth and misdeeds when it is important that he not be recognized.
Hunter (Swapfell Frution Papyrus): A prince in princely attire…mostly. He happily flaunts the color purple but proudly wears it with the black of his old family name, and drapes himself in silk tunics, fine (mostly decorative) pauldrons, capes and capelets. He tends to show off a bit more of his chest than seems appropriate for a man of his station, and seems to wear his elegant silver jewelry in ways such that the eye is drawn there, and…other places, but few question the whims of royalty. His pewter crown is heavy and inelegant and he’s talked much with his brother about how angry people would be if he had it melted and recast into something more stylish.
Kohl (Descendtale Sans): Plain, rough tunics, in black and dark brown. He wears a heavy fur-lined gabardine as it gets quite cold in the dungeons, though it’s uncertain where he managed to get such a nice garment. He keeps a knife on his belt, large and jagged-toothed, and though he hasn’t had need to use it yet, the threat of it tends to keep most prisoners from attempting to bring him harm.
Bram (Descendtale Papyrus): He’s traded in his full plate armor for a comfortably fit leather jerkin, accompanied by matching gauntlets to protect his hands and torso (inasmuch as they need protection, without flesh) from the thorns he trims back every day. He mostly wears black and white and brown, all things closely fit to his body, less they snag overmuch and need to be replaced too often. His clothing is simple but well-suited to his work, and he wears it nicely.
