Chapter 6
Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt
In the blink of an eye your relationship with your neighbour changed.
None of you were too sure as to how it happened, or when exactly it happened. But after that fateful day, in which you had played the part of a hero, you and Wanda engaged in a game of playful and deep conversations over the chat in your phones. For more than two weeks, you would seek your mobile while your heart skipped a beat, your lips curling into a strange smile that was not missed by those around you.
The changes had been so slow, and so deeply engraved in the idea of a new friendship that you and Wanda missed the signals.
The questions about the twins well-being turned into questions about preferences in music and movies, it became conversation about current events or what you usually do in your free time. At some point, even the friendly banter you two shared in the chat made you think of a juvenile adventure, but the thought was soon dismissed by your rational side telling you that friendships were supposed to be like this. A friendly chat, and a bickering friendship whenever you saw her right outside her home with the twins.
Whatever game you had entered into, for America and even Carol it was pretty obvious something had changed, and while Carol was trying to figure a way to reach out to you and not lose you; America had seen in your eyes, in your behaviour, in your phone who was behind the sudden changed. But whenever she tried to delve into the subject your quick dismissal and tangled explanations told your sister you were not ready to face reality. Much like Wanda, whenever America was to ask about the growing friendship between the both of you.
Of course, that didn’t mean you were not allowed to make questions or seek the answers eating out at you. So, when America couldn’t answer your questions about Wanda’s relationship status, or where was the husband and the father of her children, you went after the next best source of information you had.
Natasha Romanoff sat right in front of you, with her power suit on and a playful smile on her lips. The restaurant was packed, and the muffled conversation around you two was enough to bring relief to your mind that no one would be able to snoop into the conversation you would hold with the other woman. Natasha leaned in, her chin resting on the back of her hand, while her eyes gleamed with a knowing glint you had always hated on her.
“Now, this is quite surprising.” Natasha Romanoff leaned back on her chair; she tilted her head with her full lips drawing a tantalising smile you had come to know too well. “You either want to reignite a flame, or you are looking for something, Y/N.”
“Can I invite one of my oldest friends to lunch?” You retorted sounding slightly offended, Natasha snort signalling with her hand to the waitress.
“You hadn’t invited me to dinner since you broke up with Shuri.” Natasha had always been straight forward, you could always count on her to be direct and honest with you, and her brutality had saved you any trouble to not face the truths right in front of your face.
“So, what is going on?”
You shifted on the chair, the waitress taken the order from Natasha and then from you, he smiled bowing his head while giving Natasha a quick glance before walking away. The older woman tilted her head, resting her cheek on the palm of her hand while her eyes twinkled mischievously at you.
“Is it your new girlfriend or…”
“Oh, god, does everyone know about Carol?” You inquired frowning deeply. “She is not my girlfriend…”
“Someone should tell her that.” Natasha rolled her eyes leaning back. “So, what is it?”
“Wanda.”
Now this got Natasha’s full attention.
The older woman leaned forward again, her single eyebrow lifting slightly while her eyes twinkled with interested. Her lips quirked upwards, and you could tell she was trying to figure out what were your real intentions behind such a question. You pressed your lips together, tapping the table with your fingers drifting your eyes around the restaurant before settling them on Natasha.
“So, Wanda…”
“Now, stop right there, Tasha! I know that tone of voice and it’s not what you’re thinking.”
“It’s not?” Natasha chuckled, tilting her head. “I heard you went nurse on her and her kid a couple of weeks ago, and that you even brought Christine to her home to make sure the kid was fine.”
You rolled your eyes, of course Natasha would know about that. The freaking woman had a special ability to know everything that happened around her friends and the people she loved.
“Come on, Y/N, what is it you want to know?” Natasha finally inquired; you pursed your lips leaning forward lowering your voice as you did so.
“Her husband, the father of her children…what happened to him?” You didn’t beat around the bush with the question, Natasha scowled at you waiting until the food was served and the waitress had gone to speak again.
“Why are you asking this?” She finally asked piercing you with a deep stare, you shifted on your chair scrunching up your nose contemplating the real reasons for your question.
The truth was you hadn’t stopped thinking about Wanda since the day of the school event. The fact you got to see the glimpse of her family and a part of her you didn’t know was just a plus of what you were looking for. Why did you want to know that? Why was so important to know if the father of the twins would be back? If he was in the picture?
The answer to that question scared you.
More than you care to admit.
And thus, you decided to change the answer in your mind, it was not so much about Wanda, but the twins and what little you had discovered about them (and her). With that in mind, asking about the father, about Wanda’s status as single or with someone would be easier to handle.
The lies we told ourselves could go beyond the unimaginable, and you had learnt to lie to yourself a long time ago.
“I just…well, I was wondering if he is in the picture, why wasn’t he with her and the twins. I mean…”
“He is alive.” Natasha cut off your babbling, her posture never changed but her eyes were now analysing your every move, your every word.
“Oh, that…that’s good.” You replied frowning at your food, you pressed your lips tight while lowering your head.
“You don’t sound so happy about it.” Natasha replied after a few bites, you lifted your head offering a bittersweet smile.
“Oh, I’m just…I mean, are they divorced or…?” You trailed off clenching your eyes closed, Natasha snorted taking a sip from her glass before speaking.
“It’s not my story to tell, Y/N.” She straightened up and made sure you could not take your eyes away from her. “But I do want to make something very clear, Y/N, I won’t let you play with her the way you’re playing Danvers. Wanda doesn’t need, nor does she deserve to be played at by anyone. Not that Carol does, but with Wanda it is a little different.”
“I’m not playing with Carol or Wanda, that’s not what I was asking you this.”
Natasha shrugged gauging your reaction as she kept talking.
"Either way, Wanda is not gay, not even bi so…"
You placed a single hand on your face, hiding the growing blush on your cheeks. Natasha stretched her hand to grab her glass of water, her deep blue eyes seizing you up quite surprised by your sudden interest in Wanda.
"I'm not interested in her, not in that way." You stated with a straight face, trying to convince Natasha as much as yourself of the veracity of your words.
Natasha hummed, not really believing your words but not ready to start a discussion that you were obviously not ready to have.
"Then, what is your interest in her? Last time I checked you two didn't get along because you decided to be a bitch on your first encounter."
Natasha chuckled just as you rolled your eyes making a face.
"I wasn't being a bitch, she was being overly dramatic, that's all." You straightened up, lowering your gaze as you continued. "Anyway. I just noticed something the day I helped her with Tommy, I was just curious, that's all."
Natasha wanted to add something else, she could only imagine what you had discover to trigger the curiosity. Afterall, Natasha had accessed to the medical file of the twins and Wanda, she knew exactly what you had found that day. But for the moment, she would not dig further into your real intentions, and would play along with you while also finding her own way to know exactly what your intentions with Wanda were.
"Well, as I said, that's not my story to tell, perhaps you could take a chance of this newfound interest and ask her yourself."
You were very tempted to press the topic, and for a brief moment Natasha thought you would do it; but soon your interest drifted and the conversation changed into one of pure business and plans for the future. The questions you were left with, however, never left your mind, and you were already trying to devise a way to get the answers you were looking for.
Natasha or her part smiled to herself, you had played right into her hands and she had a plan for you already in mind.
‘This ought to be fun…’
_________________________________________________________
Winter had come early that year.
The rainy season had given way to low temperatures, piercing winds, and white, teasing snowflakes that would come from time to time to tease the inhabitants of the city Wanda now called her home. She glanced out of the window, with her eyes following the twirls of wind and snow dancing in the streets while the school offered a protection and warmth she was grateful for. She placed her chin on her hand, her green eyes softening slightly as she remembered the recent conversation she had been holding over the phone with Y/N.
Her lips curled slightly, she knew you were stubborn, but she never thought you were such a petulant child. The discussion had been quite foolish, and you had stood your ground quite firmly by sending her papers written by people Wanda could hardly recognize. It amused her to not end knowing how easily you get riled up whenever you knew you were in the right but someone tried to tell you were wrong. It had been quite some time since she found herself so relaxed by talking to someone that wasn't her therapist or Natasha, and the fact she didn't need to discuss her life and the problem plaguing her mind was a refreshing situation. It made her eager to continue talking to you, to allow the small glimpses of friendship to sprout so easily.
Wanda quite enjoyed contradicting you and whether she knew it or not, she was starting to look forward to those hidden conversations on her mobile.
“You seemed quite content over there, Wanda, good day?”
Wanda jerked away from her position, turning to see Natasha Romanoff standing by her desk, her head tilted to the side and her blue eyes twinkling with amusement just as Wanda felt her cheeks warm up at the sudden intrusion.
“I…yeah, you could say that.” Wanda straightened up trying to organise the paperwork laying on her desk. “Is there something you need from me, Natasha?”
“My, Wanda, can't a friend come over and see how you are doing?” Natasha sat down on the desk, crossing her legs while leaning forward, her eyes following Wanda’s gaze to the world outside just before she settled on the mobile the young woman had on her desk.
“Of course, you can.” Wanda replied, lifting her head to stare at the older woman. “I'm sorry, it’s just I thought perhaps you need something or…or something had happened?”
The unasked question hung heavily above their heads; Natasha shook her head glancing at the mobile on the desk vibrating under the pressure of a series of messages. The young woman went to grab her phone, but Natasha was faster than her, her red, puffy lips curling into a smile. Wanda felt her cheeks burning with embarrassment, and her heart hammering against her chest as if she had been discovered doing a naughty deed.
"Y/N? I thought you hate her." The statement rolled out with a hint of amusement and inquiry; Wanda looked down with her hands wriggling around a piece of paper.
"Hate is a strong emotion…"
"You said, and I quote, I hate that bitch." Natasha chuckled watching the mortified stare crossing Wanda's face at hearing her own words thrown back at her.
"I was mad that day." She defended herself by stretching her hand to the other woman wiggling her fingers in request of her phone. "I don't hate her, but I do think she is annoying and sometimes stubborn and quite frankly she is a spoiled brat."
"Ah, so you like her." Natasha was enjoying this conversation far too much.
The older woman raised a single eyebrow, her eyes studying every reaction that Wanda was experimenting. From the way those green eyes open wide, to the pinkish colour of her cheeks and the sudden trembling on her lower lip. Natasha was not a fool and she suspected something was happening, but she didn't dare yet to put a label on the sudden relationship between Wanda and Y/N, it would be far too early and far too foolish to jump to any conclusions. What Natasha did know was that this newfound friendship was helping Wanda with her mood, so the older woman considered that a winning situation.
"I wouldn't say I like her, more like I tolerate her." Wanda replied with a small voice. "She did help me with Tommy, and she is America's sister so…"
"Of course, it's not a matter of liking her but of putting up with her."
"Exactly." Natasha rolled her eyes but decided to not press the situation any further.
Wanda grabbed her phone, her eyes falling on the screen and her fingers trembling lightly just before she put the gadget away.
"Anyway, I came here because I talked to Y/N today." This seemed to grab Wanda's attention, Natasha narrowed her eyes before continuing. "Every year, just before Winter break we have a celebration for the seniors and really for the whole school. Y/N was supposed to be the organiser this year, and as our newest addition I also proposed you to be part of the committee."
"Me?" Wanda felt dizzy at the proposal, this could mean a lot of things for her.
She knew such an important position would require time and dedication, but most importantly she would be working right alongside you and that was something that was making her feel slightly anxious.
"Yes, it has been a couple of months since you got here, Wanda." Natasha softened her expression standing by the window before turning to Wanda. "You have done amazing work with the students; they love you and it is about time for you to make a name for yourself. Get notice and get credit for the amazing ideas I know you have, let everyone else know you and… Who knows? Perhaps, this is what you need to start healing."
Wanda nodded tentatively, she knew the responsibility she was being given was Natasha's way to empower her and get her more familiar with the world she had been introduced to.
"What about the press…" Wanda started and she was quite shocked to see the smirk on Natasha's face.
"Now, that's where Y/N comes in, she also needs this, and the press would be busier with her in the spotlight." Natasha winked at Wanda. "I've already spoken with Tony about this, your name would be hidden by everyone but the board, and you can work marvels without fearing your name would go out there and put yourself and the twins in danger."
Wanda knew she was given too much, but the old fears came rushing in. She remembered the old wounds on Tommy's back, the overprotective nature of Billy, her own weakness and incapability to form new bonds, to allow others closer. Wanda crumbled under her fear of Vision finding her again, and this time around, of Vision keeping his promise of destroying her and the twins.
"Natasha…" The name left Wanda's lips with a quiver.
The older woman stepped closer, wrapping a comforting hand around Wanda.
"Don't worry, Wands, Vision would never find you out in here, I made sure of it."
"I just… I know it's s a great opportunity, but he threatened me… Billy and Tommy… And he has money, and…"
"It's gonna be fine, Wanda. I know it is."
Thunder rumbled right outside the classroom, the silver light of thunder ignited the darkened hall and America jumped slightly with her eyes wide to the door of her classroom. Soon the two women engaged in a conversation America was not ready to hear, a conversation that would be far too intrusive to listen to.
Stepping back, she turned around and left the hall before she could be discovered. The information she had just gathered out of chance store in her memory while her hands moved swiftly to write to her friends and call on an emergency meeting.
Now, more than ever, they needed the help of Kate's company to know the truth hidden behind Wanda Maximoff’s sudden appearance in the Academy.
_____________________________________________________________
The supermarket was full.
Everyone seemed to have chosen that day to fill up the pantries back home to prepare for the long weekend. Wanda winced when Tommy and Billy ran to the section with sweets and packaged goods she knew she would fight over with the twins. However, watching them ran free, with smiles on their faces and not a single sign of sickness or fear in their eyes was enough for her to allow them to pick something up to enjoy after dinner.
Wanda glanced at her phone, the notes app had the list of what she would need to make sure to spend some time with the twins and, perhaps, to repay the help you and America extended to her weeks ago. This last thought made her hesitate, she chewed her lower lip, with a crease of her brows at the sudden summersault her stomach experiment at the thought of having you back in her home.
“Let me guess, you are ready to fight over a box of Mac & Cheese and a yoghurt?” Your teasing tone was not missed by the young woman that turned around wide-eyed and flustered.
“Y/N!” She exclaimed, putting her phone away rather quickly, you tilted your head with an amused smirk playing on your lips.
“Wanda!” You exclaimed back, chuckling, walking closer to her, your eyes danced up and down her body before focusing on the cart she had behind her. “Ah, you already have the Mac & Cheese…but you are missing this!”
You put from the supermarket basket a six pack of your favourite yoghurt; the same one you had taken from her on your first encounter. You winked playfully, chuckling when Wanda merely rolled her eyes, clicking her tongue while shaking her head.
“Right, are you gonna take it from me like last time or…”
You opened your eyes in mock shock, leaning over and placing the pack on Wanda’s cart. Wanda shivered lightly, your close proximity letting her catch the smell of your perfume, and the warmth emanating from your body.
“Never, please allow me.” You straightened up but never bothered to put some distance between the both of you, you were enjoying the nervousness coming off from Wanda and a part of you was tingling all over to perhaps do something rather dangerous and daring.
“I…I...Uh…” Wanda was trying to say something but your eyes on her, and the teasing smirk on your lips made her lose her words.
“I’m pretty sure there is an intelligent thought behind those beautiful stutters, though I think you’re a lot smarter when you write to me than when you talk to me…”
“Oh, shut up!” She replied slapping you playfully on your arm, your laugh made her blush and stepped back to put a safe distance between you and herself. “I was just…I was just thinking that I never thought I would find you here.”
You nodded, turning to the sound of laughter coming from down the closest aisle, in there you could see the twins that had found America strolling around. You smiled at the sight, soon finding the figure of Wanda all the more comforting at the foolish scene the five of you played inside your head.
“I came here for some groceries, and something for tonight's dinner.”
Before Wanda could ask about the dinner, she heard her name and yours being called from two different parts of the supermarket. Wanda turned to see her children running towards her with America smiling sheepishly, you turned to the other end to see Carol Danvers coming with a satisfied expression on her face and the can of goods she had been looking for. Your stomach dropped, remembering the reason you ended up in the supermarket after work, and a sudden wave of guiltiness came over you when you realised the blond-haired woman had been really excited when you invited her over for dinner that day. You dared a side-glance to Wanda that was now engaged in a discussion with the twins, and a pang of affection mixed up with your guilt for the whole situation.
Something absurd, if you think about it, since you shouldn’t be feeling guilty about anything at all. You were not doing anything wrong, and whatever mixed up emotions you were experimenting, it was the mere confusion that Wanda had come to create in your mind by being herself.
“Hey, I found it!” Carol exclaimed happily, stretching her hand with a proud stance, she drifted her attention from you to the redhead talking with two children and her eyes opened in surprise, though another emotion flash in her eyes. “Oh, Wanda!”
Wanda turned around and she too was highly surprised at the sight of Carol in there, her eyes went from Carol to yours then back to Carol. You could see the realisation flashing in her green eyes, and your mind pressed over for you to speak and clarify the situation.
“Eh, Carol, right? Hi.”
“Yes, the very same.” The woman stretched out her hand, and Wanda soon found herself under the firm grasp of the woman. “How have you been? I never got a chance to ask Y/N how you were feeling after that night, I hope everything went well.”
Wanda shifted uncomfortably, shooting you a quick glance before returning her attention to Carol.
“It did, I was just…not feeling myself that day.” She retorted softly.
“Mom! Can we?” Billy stepped forward putting the pudding box up, pouting and putting on his best puppy stare to make Wanda give in.
Carol stepped aside, she was surprised by the sight of the kid but pleasantly so as she stood beside you, her hand sneaking in to entangle around yours. You tensed, grabbing the offering hand without actually looking at the blond standing beside you, Tommy stepped forward moving past his begging brother to look up at you with a shy smile.
“Hi, Y/N.” You knelt down letting go of Carol, while smiling back at the boy.
“Hey, Tommy, how are you feeling?”
“Better, thank you.” You ruffled the kids' hair winking at him.
“Nah, it was all on you, kiddo, you were a real superhero.”
Tommy smiled please, and you stood up to see Wanda about ready to burst under the begging of Billy and the sudden tension in the group.
“He is quite persistent, eh?” Carol commented amusedly, Wanda winced tilting her head.
“You have no idea.” She replied while lifting a single hand, Billy clamped his lips close while Tommy grabbed his brother dragging him away.
“Mommy said no more desert, Billy put it back.”
“It’s my fault, Professor Maximoff, I told them I could also make pudding for them next time I babysit.”
Wanda shook her head, her lips curling tiredly, “that’s okay.”
“I didn’t know you were so good with children.” Carol stated in a faint voice to your side, you turned to her eyebrows raised at her sudden change of tone and the close proximity with you.
“Why not?”
Carol made a face, shrugging, “you never seem the type and…I just thought it was cute.”
“Humph, I’m not cute.” You replied slightly offended, the woman rolled her eyes before leaning in to steal a kiss from you.
The kiss was supposed to last a few seconds, or so you thought.
But soon it became evident that Carol’s intentions were totally different. She put a possessive hand around your waist, pressing her body closer to yours while her lips danced sensually against yours, her tongue teasing around before she pulled away rather breathless and flustered. Whatever her intentions, Carol smirked satisfied, her eyes found those of Wanda that was shifting uncomfortably on her spot.
“Right, I think we better keep moving, there is going to be rain and…and the twins may catch something.” Wanda started talking fast, moving back while placing the pudding box on her cart. “It was nice seeing you, Carol, Y/N, America. I may need you tomorrow but I will text you the details…bye!”
You had never seen the young woman move as fast as she did at that moment, the twins waved good-bye and soon they were following their mom towards the other end of the supermarket. America stood there with a frown, her eyes found yours and the both of you had the same questioning glance on your faces. Carol on the other hand was tensed, her eyes flashing something cold with hints of sadness in them.
“Shall we go?” She asked, you turned to her frowning before nodding.
“Yeah, are you okay?” You stepped forward but Carol stepped back.
“Yes, just tired and a little hungry.”
“Okay, yes, let’s pick something else up and we go home.” You mumbled slightly confused, your heart hammering against your chest and your mind a twister of emotions, memories, and thoughts involving the woman you hadn’t stopped thinking about ever since you met her.
______________________________________________________________
Dinner had been a quiet event.
Something had been bothering you all afternoon and part of the night, and Carol had long lost the battle to try and regain your attention. She and America spoke most of the night, with Carol speaking about her adventures and the long process that led her to be the most decorated Captain in the air force and the newest commander of the base.
America had enjoyed the conversation, she asked questions about life in the force and the possibilities that could be opened for her. But as the conversation took a more professional note, you couldn't help but drift away into your own thoughts.
By the time you and Carol were left alone, you were even more confused than ever, and this only made the breach between you and Carol that much bigger, deeper and almost impossible to cross.
"You had been awfully quiet all night, is something the matter?" Carol had not missed your mood, and a part of her continued holding onto the hope that your relationship would turn out to be something meaningful.
"I'm just tired, and thoughtful." You replied offering a small smile. "Today was a long day at the office, and I followed your advice so tomorrow I will have lunch with Hope."
"You do?" This time around Carol was completely surprised, her face relaxed at the news and she took this chance to come closer to you.
"Yes, I think it is time to just rekindle that friendship and…" You shrugged, leaning back to face Carol. "I did miss her, you know?"
Carol knew.
The last year had been a complete roller-coaster for you, Carol had been there the moment you broke up with Shuri and your inner circle took sides without knowing the full context of the fight. Carol had found out by chance, but Hope had heard both sides of the story and had stepped aside by trying to balance her friendship with Shuri and with you. The breakup, as well as the weight of the daily business and raising a teenager had left you in an emotional state you wished to never experiment again. It was in the midst of such disarray that Carol and you made a deal.
Carol never imagined she would want more, and you never entertained the idea of falling in love again. And while you had been firmed in your resolution, Carol had been breaking the silent deal she had made the first night she spent in your bed.
Now, after almost six months of the affair, Carol realiser she had been a fool.
"I was offered a new position." Carol stated all of a sudden, she placed a hand on your shoulder and her fingers started a game you knew well enough.
"A position? Where?" You shivered as her fingertips brushed against your skin, her lips wrapped around your earlobe.
"They are renewing the security plans in the base of Eastern Europe." She whispered, her hand moving down your open shirt, your hands already positioned on her lower back pressing her closer to you. "They want me to lead the new training drills, and be in charge of the whole operation."
The blond-haired woman trembled with her legs spread and her clothed crotch pressed tentatively on your thigh. You lifted your leg applying more pressure, a soft moan leaving Carol's lips.
"What are you trying to say, Carol?" You asked softly, this time around you leaned in kissing the woman on her lips tearing out of her a needy moan just as you pressed her closer to you.
"Come with me." Carol finally stated, breathing hard, her hips rolling to get more friction.
She fluttered her eyes open, and as soon as she did she knew the answer to her question. Her face fell for a moment but a spark of determination ignited inside her chest. She offered a mischievous smile and without any warning she knelt down, her trembling hands playing with the zipper and the buttons of your pants.
"Let's just talk about this later." She finally mumbled, lowering your pants and underwear and digging right in your already wet pussy.
Your thoughts leaving your mind as soon as her tongue came into contact with your pussy. Your hand pressing her closer never once did you notice the tears in her eyes.
______________________________________________________________
Hope had chosen a nice restaurant right outside her office. The place was small, cosy and filled with sweet aromas of homemade food. The music was a remembrance of your teen years, and you couldn't feel more relaxed under such an atmosphere.
"So, you like the place I chose?" Hope asked amusedly, you snorted tilting your head with a shrug.
"It is nice." You played the nonchalant card, but Hope was not having any of it.
"I knew you would like it." Hope took a sip from her glass glancing around the place before letting her eyes rest on you. "The food in here is amazing, and actually this is a good place to think and have private conversations."
"Private, eh?"
Hope shrugged leaning back on her chair, "it's been a while and in my office we have the risk of one of my patients coming over without knocking, like Wanda did last time."
At the mention of the young woman you felt your body tense, your eyes diverted their attention from Hope to some unknown spot in the restaurant. Hope narrowed her eyes with some interest, filing this reaction away to bring it over later.
"Right, like last time…" You grabbed a napkin facing Hope with some trepidation. "How is she?"
"Who? Wanda?" Hope opened her eyes until the face you made told her the other woman was not the one you were talking about. "Ah, she is doing fine. After her brother's funeral she and her mom took some time off work and now they are back. It's just that she is not overly fond of coming back to the States."
"I see, that's good."
"And you? How are things with you, Y/N? What about America?" Hope was being honest in her questions, she had lost contact with you but she never stopped loving you like a sister.
She listened attentively as you evaded the topic of your life and instead focused on America and the family business. The conversation about your sister made Hope smile, she knew you adore the kid and your life decisions had been made around her well-being but she also worried that after your break-up with Shuri America had become your only focus.
"Right now she is just… Trying to decide what to do." You shrugged, shaking your head. "I just have a feeling that they would end up in the same University…breaking havoc as always."
Hope chuckled, America and her group of friends had been like that ever since they were little children. Everyone was expecting great things from them.
"Okay, that was a long storytelling about America, her friends, her future, school, and about your business and Tony, and Strange, and…"
You rolled your eyes, making a face you busy yourself with your fork. Hope tilted her head softening her stare.
"And you, Y/N? How are you, really? What about Carol? I heard you and her were a thing… But…"
Hope could see the topic become personal for you, your whole stance changed and soon your eyes dropped. The woman waited for a moment, her eyes never leaving your form and you knew she was just analysing your every movement and your every word.
"We were just fucking." You let out a heavy sigh after that, Hope winced at your crudeness but was really not surprised about it.
"I met her the other day, you know?" Hope pursed her lips before continuing. "Are you sure it is nothing else…?"
"I know she wants more." You replied. "But I made it clear to her, I cannot…"
"You can't or you don't want to? There is a difference in there, Y/N."
You fixed your position on the chair, grabbing the glass of water before speaking.
"I don't want to, Carol is amazing. She really is, but my affection for her doesn't go deeper than friendship." You took a long sip from your water, Hope offered a sympathetic smile. "I know she wants more, but I can't give her that. I don't want to hurt her."
"Well, it is inevitable, she has always had a crush on you and you just gave her something she wanted."
This revelation came as a surprise for you, Hope could tell you didn't know that detail about Carol.
"She never said anything."
"You are hard to crack sometimes, Y/N, and you were so absorbed in your pursuit of Shuri and all that you missed her feelings." Hope shrugged. "But now it's your time to make it right, if there is nothing else you can offer than a night of sex then you better end that right now."
You nodded furrowing your brows for a brief moment. Hope narrowed her eyes at you, and the next question almost made you choke on your own spit.
"And what's your relationship with Wanda Maximoff?"
"What?!" You exclaimed, changing to different shades of red. "There is no relationship whatsoever! What made you say that?"
Hope raised a single eyebrow, waving her hand away pointing at you.
"That reaction."
"This is nothing but me thinking how ridiculous you are being, Hope." You huffed indignantly, finishing your glass of water while looking away. "That woman is insufferable, and she has two kids, and really I find her quite dull and… And…"
"Insufferable?" Hope chimed in when you seemed lost at words.
"Exactly!" Hope rolled her eyes and you clicked your tongue aggravated by the suggestion. But there was something else, you grabbed your phone putting it away protectively while you made sure to never look Hope right in the eye.
She was very tempted to press the conversation, but she had a better idea.
"Right, sorry I ever asked." She stood up putting some bills on the table. "Walk me to the office, I have an appointment in five minutes."
You let out a sigh of relief, standing up you left a generous tip before going out of the restaurant. The day was cold and dark, but people were enjoying the Saturday afternoon with long walks and shopping for the holidays. Hope started talking about her own family, and how she had spent her last eight months away.
You listened carefully, always enjoying the presence of one of your oldest friends in ways you never thought possible. For a moment, you entertained the idea of telling Hope about your recent confusion, but voicing your thoughts would give a form to something you didn't want to face at the moment. Besides, it was nothing! You were confused because you had found in Wanda a kind heart and two amazing children, it was nothing more than sympathy.
The theory you had played inside your head crumbled the moment you found yourself staring into a pair of deep, green eyes.
"Wanda! I'm sorry to take this long, this slowpoke was just entertaining me after lunch." Hope let go of your arm coming towards Wanda and giving her a warm hug.
You stood there mouth hanging open as Wanda turned to Hope.
"Don't worry, I just got here as well so I didn't have to wait…" She trailed off, hesitant at first before turning to you. "Hello, Y/N, I hope you are doing fine."
Her tone was quite different, detached and almost cold. You furrowed your brows but soon shook away your head and offered a half smile.
"Yep, more than okay, Princess." Wanda tensed at the nickname, and Hope was having the time of her life observing the interaction. "What about you? Did you have a good night?"
"Not as good as yours, I bet." She replied icily, you opened your eyes with your lips parting with  an answer at the ready but before you could say anything Wanda offered a strained smile to Hope. "If you don't mind, Hope, I think I will go inside. I need the bathroom. Y/N have a nice afternoon, give my best to Carol."
And with that she left in a hurry. You stood there slightly hurt by this reaction, but you concealed your expression as soon as you felt Hope's knowing stare on you.
"Right, she is crazy, I tell you no wonder she is seeing you."
Before you could go, the voice of your best friend stopped you.
"Don't judge her too harshly, Y/N, you don't know the whole story." Hope approached you giving you a long hug. "Stop running, Y/N, and start living, you fool. We will talk about that next time. Don't be a stranger."
"I won't."
Hope lifted her face to the building, a spark of curiosity awakening in her. This session promised to be an interesting one.
______________________________________________________________
Wanda hadn't stopped pacing around the room.
She had served tea twice, and her purse was left forgotten on the sofa while she babbled about the progress she had made, how empowered she felt at the moment. She talked about her job, about her family and her brother, she told Hope about the photo album and about her children. And just like that, her conversation went down a path she had tried to divert for more than thirty minutes.
"I have never been so scared before." Wanda dropped her weight on the chair, her hand resting on her forehead, covering the rampaging emotions going through her at the memory.
"I can't imagine what that might have felt for you, Wanda. Your children are your main motivator, and finding that one of them is suffering…"
"I thought I was failing; you know?" Wanda finally revealed. "I couldn't stop his voice from drilling mocking words inside my head. It was as if his predictions became real."
Hope scrunched up her nose, she let out a huff that Wanda answered with a crooked smile.
"Habits are difficult to break, his voice may be there as a memory but not as a compass to your actions." Hope softened her gaze. "But how did you overcome such hardship? Is Tommy doing better now?"
This time around Wanda leaned forward, her elbows resting on her knees and the wrinkles around her eyes and the bridge of her nose softened considerably. Hope observed with a twinge of interest the reaction, she didn't miss the body language and much less in the words Wanda was using to talk about what happened next.
"He is so much better now, I actually received help from my neighbour."
"Y/N?" Hope straightened up, her eyes going wide at this revelation.
"She and America, they came in and…" Wanda trailed off looking away from the knowing glance of her therapist. "Can you believe they are sisters? God, America is like the sweetest, smartest and kindest person I have ever known and Y/N…"
"What is it? Hope finally asked after a minute or so, Wanda shifted, crossing her arms and clicking her tongue.
"She is just… Infuriating!"
"I agreed though I believe you and I have different reasons for thinking that." Hope stated amused, Wanda winced leaning forward again.
"I know she is your friend, and she did help me with Tommy, but she is just…"
Wanda trailed off again, Hope waited for a moment and soon Wanda let out a heavy sigh.
"She is confusing." Wanda finally said, frowning at her own words. "And this thing she has with Carol, showing off as if…ugh, can you believe she was showing off last night? It's just…"
Wanda trailed off leaning back, "it's confusing."
Hope lifted a single eyebrow, her lips twitching fighting over her obvious reaction to such a declaration.
"Whatever you mean by that, Wanda? I mean, what does Carol and Y/N, for that matter, have anything to do with your confusion?"
Wanda pressed her lips together, her heart hammering against her chest and her cheeks tainted in pink. The young woman opened and closed her mouth before dropping her defences.
" I didn't know she… I mean that Y/N was into… I mean… " Wanda stuttered trying to find the right words, Hope waited for a moment before talking.
"Into women?"
"Yes!" Wanda exclaimed wincing, she had heard something of course, but to actually see you with the blond-haired woman, shared such a deep kiss, it had ignited inside Wanda an emotion that made her heart twisted with a painful thud.
Seeing you today, after what Wanda had seen, what she had imagined you and Carol were doing back in your home, it was almost ridiculously unbearable for her. Wanda wanted to come onto you and slapped you, but as soon as that thought sneaked in, another stranger, yet familiar emotion came to the surface.
Sadness.
"She is confusing, sometimes.". Wanda hesitated before continuing. "Sometimes she is… She is this nice person and some others she…"
"She is confusing." Hope chimed in, Wanda nodded and the look of pure panic and puzzlement in her green eyes told Hope this was a topic she could not press any further without discussing other important points about Wanda.
"Wanda, before Vision, was there anybody else you were interested in?"
The question caught Wanda by surprise, she straightened up, tilting her head while frowning a little. The young woman was trying to remember her childhood and her teen years, flashes of people she had been interested in came rushing into her mind but most of them had been singers or actresses that called her attention.
Then, she stopped her trail of thoughts. Actresses. No, actors. There was this one actress that she had always thought was beautiful but that was admiration, not attraction.
Then, she tried to go back to the mirage of faces until she found herself thinking of you. Her heart leaped, and Wanda shook her head rapidly.
"I…I don't remember." She stuttered, glancing at her feet.
"You don't remember or you don't want to say?" Hope pressed but Wanda didn't lift her face, and Hope knew the other woman would say nothing else about the topic.
However, Hope had sowed the seed of doubt and that would be enough to press the matter on another session. For now, she was starting to see a pattern in Y/N and Wanda, a dangerous game that if executed incorrectly could leave the women involved more miserable than they already were.
"I think this is all for today." Hope stated and she could tell Wanda was relieved by this.
"Okay, yes, today was…" Wanda gestured with her hands but said nothing else.
"It was." Hope smiled and Wanda hated the fact her therapist knew more than she cares to admit.
There was a long silence in between, Hope could tell Wanda was in the middle of an internal battle but the contents of this battle were the myriad of emotions Wanda had allowed herself for the very first time. Independence.
Wanda was finally freed to make decisions on her own, to take the path she thought better for herself and her children. Wanda was finally freed to be herself, and that was something the young woman was discovering little by little with the ups and downs that this discovery might mean.
“I never thought this was going to be this…difficult.” Wanda wrapped her arms around herself, she lifted her gaze to the ceiling pursing her lips.
“You are discovering yourself, Wanda, there are many aspects of your personality and even of your life that you hid in order to survive and to comply with what was expected of you.” Hope offered a comforting smile, her words washing over Wanda just as reality hit the redhead. “It can be difficult for as long as you fight it over, and this may happen because you are still fighting with the ghosts of the past.”
Wanda shifted on the chair, she never turned to Hope but the therapist didn’t need to see the expression on Wanda’s face to know she was struggling with the words and her thoughts at the moment.
“So, I could be…this could be…This is me?”
Hope tilted her head analysing the statement.
Who Wanda could be was more complicated than Wanda really knew, but certainly the little pieces that she had been revealing in the sessions and the little pieces she had discovered on her own were just a reflection of the amazing person that was hidden behind the masquerade of the well-behaved, quiet and mellow housewife that Vision had built from an early age.
“Isn’t it fantastic to start discovering what you are capable of? What can you really do? Who can you love?”
Wanda clenched her eyes close, feeling the tears rolling down her face. The last question made her heart jump and her stomach shrank with the sheer emotion of the real meaning behind such a question. Who could Wanda love…Who could be that one person she could love that would never make her feel the way she felt before.
The room drowned in a tense silence, without meaning to, and actually without thinking clearly about anything else Wanda lowered her teary gaze to the mobile she had dropped on the table. The screen popped up with a myriad of messages that had a single name on it.
A detail that had not escaped Hope at all, and that Wanda had evaded the moment the conversation turned to personal.
But now…Y/N’s name was a constant reminder that Wanda had been experimenting emotions she never thought possible.
And fear was still holding her back, and she was still denying herself the possibility of digging deeper into what she was feeling for the woman she had come across by chance. Wanda grabbed the phone in her hands, and with a tear rolling down, she put it away trying to hide the part of herself that Y/N had brought to the surface without meaning to.

Who is she?
Pairing: Shuriri x reader
A/N: so I know I said I was doing a fic for shuri but once I started it I could not finish it lol. This will be a series but I don't know how I feel about so we just gonna start with this first chapter and if yall like it then I'll keep writing for it. Enjoy
Tumblr media
Shuri knew about Riri's secret life
she knew of her dangerous lifestyle and the team she rolled with
she knew of the young avengers and most of all she knew about you. She knew of your beauty, your determination and the way you carried yourself. She also had heard of what you and Riri had been through.
She knew you two were close and about the kiss you had shared
well, multiple kisses
and how you guys had almost reached third base but Shuri didn't mind.
Riri and Shuri had talked about it
If the opportunity had came up where Riri and you were going to have sex then Shuri wanted Riri to take it
and obviously tell her all about it after.
Riri had never told you about hers and Shuri's relationship when you guys had first started out.
You guys weren't in a relationship and you guys still weren't
But now you and her were starting to get serious and you were starting to fall in love.
Which was your first time
But Riri saw this and she knew it was time for you to meet Shuri and hopefully expand your relationship
So that's how they ended up in this situation
Riri taking Shuri to meet you and her friends; people she had considered family
"Riri are you sure about this? What if they don't like me? What if she isn't open to it? What if-"
"Shuri, baby chill, they gonna love you, I promise." Riri reassures Shuri, she expected her to be a little nervous but she knew you would love her.
Tumblr media
Being the leader of the group of misfits you called family was the best thing that could have happened for you.
Well that and Riri
You had never met anyone like her
She was kind and gentle, she cared about you
which you couldn't say for a lot of people
You and Riri had been through a lot, you've fought for her, killed for her and she's done the same for you.
You wanted to take things slow, just so you could make sure it was real. You didn't exactly have a lot of good experiences with people.
You didn't have any family
well actually you kind of did
correction; you had family they just didn't know who you were, just how you had forgot about mostly everything but thankfully your memory was coming back and you were happy, you didn't have any unnecessary drama and things with Riri were great
They were so great that tonight you wanted to tell Riri you loved her
Tumblr media
You and everyone else were getting ready to train outside when your favorite person came into few with someone behind her, you recognized her face. The curly hair with shaved sides was familiar, her sharp jawline and charming smile was something you had sworn you had seen, same as the tribal tattoo that was adorned on her hand, you just couldn't put your finger on it.
Riri spoke up as she walked over to everyone
"Yo wassup" Riri exclaimed as she went to dap up Elijah, or better known as Patriot or more like a knock off of Sam Wilsons Captain America. "How you doing Williams, college life treating you right?"
"I guess, you know my professors be on something."
Riri walks around greeting everyone before she got to you last. "Hey ma." She wraps her arms around your figure and you bend your head down to stuff your face in Riri's neck allowing you to smell the lavender and amber she mostly wore.
Her butterfly locs pulled back into a ponytail which showed off her bare face, it was a little chilly in oregon, the place where you had been getting calls about a creature that would visit random towns at the same time in the night and wreck the place, even going as far to hurting a few people and even successfully killed two people.
Riri's cropped puffer jacket made sense, she paired it with a cropped black tee and gray joggers with a chain dangling down her neck, pulling the whole outfit together. She pulled away from you to walk back over to her friend, which is what you had hoped they were.
"Um who's your friend Ri?"
"You seriously don't know who that is?" You looked over to Kamala with a confused look, you had never met nor seen this person, or at least that's what you though. You weren't sure.
"There are sadly a lot of things I don't know."
"That's Shuri Udaka" You slowly shook your head, clueless. "She's the black panther and the queen of Wakanda" You gave an even more confused look. "Oh?"
You turned to Riri as she spoke up"This is Shuri, she's my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend!?" You realized how loud you got and corrected yourself as everyone looked at you. "I-I mean girlfriend? You never told us you had a girlfriend Riri" You looked at her with to many emotion to name.
How could she do this?
String you along as if she didn't have a girlfriend this whole time.
especially with someone as attractive as Shuri and she was a literal queen?
You couldn't believe it
Why would she bring her here?
"I do hope it's ok that I'm here, it's just- Riri talks about you guys all the time and-"
"Oh really? Cause she's never said anything about you." Even though you were talking to Shuri you stared at Riri the whole time. Maybe it was to see if her face would say something her mouth didn't but as you looked her blank expression didn't change.
As Shuri talked you couldn't help but interrupt.
"So Shuri how long are you staying?"
"Oh well I cleared my schedule so I could spend time with Riri and get to know all of you."
"Oh your staying overnight?"
"Well I hope thats not a problem"
"No its just- we kind of have an important mission that I've been working on for about a week, I'm surprised Riri didn't tell you knowing as she did help me on it a bit."
"Oh well I can always help if you guys need it."
"It's not that kind of mission, I worked really hard on it and-"
"Yo Y/N chill she just wanted to help, I'm the one who told her it would be cool" You turn towards Riri and scoff lowly. "That doesn't matter Riri, you can't just call the shots around here, your not the leader of this group." Riri steps closer to you as if you had said something wrong. "Since when has that mattered? It ain't even a big deal."
"But that's just the thing Riri it is a big deal, you can't just decide whether something does or doesn't happen." By now you and Riri were face to face. You had never gotten this upset at Riri but why wouldn't you be, she had lied to you and not only was she in a relationship, she brought her girlfriend to meet you and your guys friends.
Before Riri could say anything else you walked away but not before giving Riri the most dirty stare you could muster.
How could she just play in your face as if all of it meant nothing?
You just need to get your mind off of it.
what better way to get your mind off something than killing a bloodthirsty monster?
Tumblr media
A few hours had went by.
You and the team were all ready, Shuri would have to stay in the ship but she said she was fine with it.
You all had just arrived to the last town on your list.
As you and the team rode up, the air was still and everything was quiet, not a soul to be seen.
"We should split up and look around, if you see anything do not engage, just notify everyone on your comms. Alright?" Everyone nods and you all head in your own separate ways.
You walked around, the cold breeze sending a shiver down your spine. There was no one around, it looked like a ghost town.
But why would a creature with cruel intentions go to a place with zero people?
You had spent at least half and hour checking in on everyone, walking around and waiting but nothing happened, you looked at your watch, 7:00 on the dot. The sun was starting to go down and it became colder, you reach to tell everyone it was time to go but before you could the ground shook which didn't make any sense, it didn't feel like an earthquake. It felt as if someone was stomping on the ground.
But who or what would be big enough to do that?
You turn to see a big boulder hurdling in your direction but you moved out the way just in time.
You look around when you see it.
A 10 foot mucky green blob
or at least thats what you thought it was until its arms and head began to take form, the creatures body looked like a man but its head resembled that of a lizard. Its skin was made up of what look like slime and instead of feet it slithered around.
The creature didn't seem to notice you and to keep it that way you slowly backed up and as you did you heard it before you saw it. The sound of a twig being stepped on and the gasp that was awfully loud brought the attention of the slimy beast and as soon as it saw you it lunged forward ready to attack.
You draw out your shiny gold sword but before it reached you the sound of something else ripped through the air
or better yet someone else
Teddy or better known as Hulkling another version of the Hulk yelled out "Hey why don't you pick on someone your own size!?" His shapeshifting really payed off as he grew ten times his size
the creature took this as a challenge and began to shift over to Teddy, it reached into its chest and as it took its hand out, the once dark green color that was its skin was now lighter and it appeared to be glowing, its now neon green slimy hand began to drip down and as it hit the ground the once live green grass turned black and dead, you realized what was about to happen.
Before the slime monster came up to Teddy you yelled out, "Teddy wait don't let it touch you!"
He looked over to you but before the words could process a glob of slime was flung onto Teddys arm as he fell due to the burning sensation, his skin burned and it was evident in the way part of the skin on his arm began to melt off.
His cries and screams tore a hole in your heart as it gained the attention of everyone else.
of course everyone's first instinct was to charge forward but you stopped them. "Wait no! don't touch it!"
"How are we supposed to kill it if we can't touch it?"
"I-I don't know but Teddys hurt we have to get him out of here"
You walk up, hoping you can slip pass it and help teddy but before you can it turns around and without another thought it rushes towards you and you step back but not without tripping on a rock that you could have sworn wasn't there before.
You couldn't even get up before you had heard a voice, it wasn't anything familiar, it was deep and rough, you could hardly make anything out of what it was saying.
You froze, stuck in place as the monster inched closer to you. Its not like you could fight this thing, you didn't want to risk touching it but that wasn't the only reason why you couldn't move.
Its eyes, they were neon green, a light and vibrant color but the only thing in those eyes were pure darkness
It hypnotized you, it felt.... normal or maybe normal wasn't the word more like familiar, like the evilness it carried felt right.... it felt comforting
It was wrong but why did it feel so right?
It spoke, this time more clearly
Y/N L/N, you may think what your doing is good, that your a hero but you'll always be a killer. Its in your blood.
You had completely forgot where you were at, the thing in sight was the creature and its haunting presence, its words ringing in your ears.
That was until the entirety of the monsters essence was now all over you
you look over and you see Kate Bishop lowering her bow, you would assume she's the reason it blew up
It wasn't just you that got splashed, everything and everyone was now covered in sticky slime but at least the monster was gone and it was all over
or so you thought

The Young Avengers 🦅 | Marvel Headcanon
Takes place during Phase 4 of the MCU
Link to my marvel Masterlist
Requested 📨 yes/no
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Being a young former Black Widow and forming a team with Shuri, Kate, Elijah, Joaquin, and Kid Loki would look like:
To be honest you weren’t to fazed with the idea of forming a team with the younger crowd of up and coming superheroes. Sure you had been friends with Shuri since 2018 and met the others through Sam, Clint, and Thor, but the idea of creating a team like the Avengers never crossed your mind until Shuri proposed the idea. “Ain’t that Val lady forming her own team? Or Secretary Ross is, they’re calling them the Thunderbolts? Yelena was telling me about it—anyway, point is if there’s already a new team of heroes then why make our own?” “Calling them heroes is a little…far fetched if we’re being honest. They are more like the Dark Avengers—and no I was not trying to make a joke. You look at who she’s recruiting and it’s literally that. Think of us as their antithesis.”
It didn’t take much convincing after that with you literally going, “Fuck it. Let’s do it—might actually give me shit to do now that the world has gone to shit trying to get back to the way it was.” Within the hour you were pulling up to a hangar to meet the others. They all looked excited except Kid Loki. He looked rather annoyed being there—really it was Thor’s idea to have him join to keep him out of trouble. “It was either this or join him in his adventures across space. Frankly I’d rather stay in one place after escaping the Void.”
Considering you all are some of the most powerful and intelligent kids on the planet, there is bound to be some restrictions. Likely y’all would be staying at Avengers compound or create your own base camp but there would still be oversight. If Fury is not dealing with the Kree then he and Maria are who y’all report to. Other than them, the veteran Avengers tend to look after you guys—like Sam and Clint. “So since you’re now Captain America and you’re technically retired, does that make Torres the Falcon and Bishop Hawkeye?” “If that’s what they want to go by. You’re still called Black Widow aren’t ya?” “Touché”
So there you have it. Shuri: The Black Panther, Joaquin: the Flacon, You: the Black Widow, Kate: Hawkeye, Kid Loki, & Elijah: The Patriot.
As expected you’re a rambunctious group of heroes. Sometimes y’all find yourselves in trouble when you weren’t planning on it. Trouble just finds you guys 90% of the time. Agent Everett Ross has a whole supply of advil because keeping track of you all gives him a headache. “You’re job was to get it, get the intel, and get the hell out of there. What went wrong?” “Well…….as you can see um….yeah I have no explanation. Shuri you got anything?” “Nope. Torres, you?” “I can’t even remember what we were doing there.”
One time on a mission you guys actually ran into the Thunderbolts and it was quite the scene. First of all you and Yelena were like, “Hey sis! What are you doing here?” Meanwhile Bucky was scolding Elijah & Torres and Walker was getting annoyed with Kid Loki’s tricks. Kate just looked out of place while Shuri was trying to calm everyone down, “It seems there has been a misunderstanding. Unless….it was the plan for all of us to be here.” “What are you saying, Shuri?” “I believe our teams were set up, white wolf. Why else would both of us be called to the same place, for the same exact thing, on the same day?”
Having a genius like Shuri on your team meant you guys were equipped with some of the best technological advances than anyone else. Even the Thunderbolts were envious of y’all’s artillery. Not only did Joaquin get an upgrade on his falcon wings, but Kate got high tech trick arrows, Elijah a vibranium shield, kid Loki with a scepter and you got some additions to your Widow’s bite and suit. “Shit, I feel like I could take down even Thanos with these.” “Try not to show them off to much, Widow. Secretary Ross is still trying to get me to develop stuff for the Thunderbolts and i’ve given him the impression I’m not even advancing our weaponry. So..keep it on the down low.”
After some time as a team, you guys would recruit Kamala Khan, RiRi Williams and Cassie Lang as y’all’s Ms. Marvel, IronHeart & Stinger. Peter Parker would eventually join, bringing in his buddy Ned and America Chavez who were Masters of The Mystic Arts. The team grew so large y’all could actually split you guys up when multiple missions came in. With their initiation, Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, and Scott Lang joined Sam, Clint, Fury, Ross, and Hill as ‘chaperones’.
“So what do we call ourselves?” “The Young Avengers.” “Isn’t that a derivative?” “Yeah, but it sounds less menacing than Dark Avengers or the Thunderbolts. I mean we are Avengers…just we’re young so it fits.” “True…”

I Got You // Riri Williams
Tumblr media
Request: Can I get some Riri Fluff? Pretty please with a cherry on top. - Anonymous
Summary: You’ve been plagued with nightmares ever since the princess of Wakanda came to your dorm in search of your roommate who indirectly got herself in some trouble. You go to the library to clear your head to sort your feelings for her not knowing she feels the same.
Pairing: Riri Williams x Ex-Avenger!Fem!Reader
Warning: Fluff // PTSD // Violence // Wakanda Forever Spoilers //
Word Count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
The rain hitting your window was enough to lull you to sleep a couple of hours ago. It was a Friday night and you finally got to rest after a hectic week of projects, papers and exams. That was until you began tossing and turning. The nightmares that plagued you started to become too much and you could barely sleep these days. Its nothing you are not used to. Being an ex-Avenger and all. But after all the shit you and your roommate turned best friend went through last month, shit was tough. The Fishman Namor was out to kill her. You got kidnapped and taken to an underwater kingdom. You helped Wakanda fight. So much had happened and you couldn't shake the thoughts of all the what ifs running through your mind. The nightmare was an occurring one. He had gotten his wish. When he attacked the throne room the queen died but so did she. You woke up in a silent sob as you did for the past week and sat in your bed for a couple of minutes, watching her. She slept peacefully and you let a small smile appear on your lips before quietly throwing on some clothes and pulling your braids through the back of your cap. As you went for the door you heard her shuffle and turned to see her looking up at you.
"Girl it's, 12:30. Where the hell are you going?" She questioned and you grabbed a notebook and your umbrella.
"Library's open till 3. Go back to sleep, I'll be back." You shut the door before she had a chance to say anything else and made your way to the library. It was usually quiet and the place you went to in order to clear your head. Finding an empty table you let out a long sigh with your head in your hands. You wouldn't have this problem if Shuri didn't help you realize your feelings for Riri.
You watched her as she worked on her Ironheart suit and found yourself in a trance. She worked intensively with "Alone" by Burna Boy playing in her airpods as you prepared the weapons you were going to have on your person. The Avenger in you refused to back down from this fight. You had found a friend in Riri when the two of you met freshman year. She was a genius and you were a book nerd. A year after knowing her, you confided to her that you used to be an Avenger. Trained under Natasha and Steve, more so Black Widow and Captain America. The two have since passed but you remember the skills they passed onto you while under their teachings. She still accepted you and you vowed to rough up anyone who gave her problems. You felt a light tap on your shoulder and turned to see the princess. She gave you a small smile before looking at your weapon and suit designs.
"That looks brilliant. Are you sure she's the only genius between you two?" She laughed and you gave a soft chuckle.
"She's the brains, I'm the brawn." You told her and she looked over at the girl.
"She's the reason you're fighting right? To protect her." She said as you added the finishing touch to your suit. "Yeah I guess you can say that."
"So when are you going to tell her about your feelings for her?" She continued and you froze. Had you been that obvious? Your eyes found the princesses curious orbs and you let a laugh leave you. "It wasn't that hard to see. Even for an ex-avenger, you've slipped up a couple of times.
"Never. She's better off not knowing." You replied and she sat down next to you. "I'm an ex-Avenger. I have enemies out there and I can't risk her getting hurt." You looked down at your designs as if there was something else to be done. Just to get out of this conversation.
"And yet she's going into a fight with a mutant merman who wants to kill her." She laughed and your shoulders shook as you couldn't hide your own laughter.
"You're right. But I'll keep my secret until the time is right." You mumbled and she nodded.
You didn't even know you had let a tear roll down your cheek as the memory played in your head, clear as day. A hand landed on your shoulder and you turned to see Riri standing next to you with concern on her face. You couldn't even take the time to wipe your face as she pulled a chair next to you and did it for you.
"What's got you all upset ma?" She asked and you opened your mouth to speak but no words came out. You were really trying to hold it together and Riri could see that written all over your face. She grabbed the back of your head, bringing you to hide in the crook of her neck breaking the dam. You silently cried into her shoulder and she rubbed your back with her other hand. She held you until you stopped shaking and your sobs turned into small sniffles. She slowly pulled you up before swiping her thumbs under your eyes. "Talk to me Y/N."
"I've been having nightmares. They all end the same, I lost you. After the whole Namor thing, I just. I can't help but think he's still got it out for you. It scared me when you were in danger and it still scares me now." You mumbled not meeting her gaze and she remained silent. Urging you to continue before you took a deep breath. "So many what ifs running through my head and I can't get it to stop. If something happens to you, I won't be able to forgive myself. Ex-Avenger or not, I still care about you." You cautiously glanced up to meet her eyes and she leaned a bit closer.
"Yeah I know I should be used to stuff like this. But it is different because it's you and I care about you and your safety. You're this amazing person who doesn't nothing but help people and I love that about you." The word slipped out before you could stop yourself and you suddenly felt the need to go hide under your sheets. She noticed your sudden nervousness before grabbing your face to make you look at her.
"I love you too idiot." She announced and you could practically hear your heartbeat in your ears. "I'll admit I was scared too. Not just because I was basically on this guy's hit list. But because you followed me. Blindly." You felt all of your worries melt away when she brought you in for a tight hug. You wrapped your arms around her and shut your eyes. The weight of doubt lifted off your chest and you placed a single kiss on her temple. You pulled back and her eyes flickered to your lips. You slowly leaned in to kiss her before a voice stopped you. You could practically feel her breath on your bottom lip but turned to see the librarian.
"Sorry to interrupt ladies but the library is closed for the night. Head back to your dorms." She told us with a bright smile and you felt your cheeks heat up. Riri grabbed your hand before grabbing your umbrellas.
"Come on. Let's head back. We can watch a movie until we crash." She grinned and you felt her intertwining your fingers.
"Okay." You probably had the biggest smile on your face as you left the library.

Planning a wedding with the man she loves and working small jobs with SHIELD seems like an easy task, but now that Jonathan is dead, Maggie and Steve have to continue tracking down HYDRA and cleaning up the mess left behind- which is easier said than done when the Winter Soldier has returned.

Masterlist Buy me a Coffee
Bucky shifts a bit, feeling a bit like a caged animal in his suit but grateful they allowed him his metal prosthetic, at least being able to use both hands again and doodle on the spare memo pad Tony’s lawyers gave him to ease his nerves. “How much longer until they’re ready?”
“Soon, White Wolf,” T’Challa smiles a bit, watching Bucky’s nervous pacing in the hall. Though they’ve already done their openings, the recess the prosecution requested has done nothing to ease Bucky’s nerves. “I’m sure you’ll do well. Between Tony and me, you have the best defense team money can buy.” He glances at his watch. “The girls should be on their mission by now; they will let you know once they find something.”
“You also have a reason, Buck.” Steve steps in to block his best friends’ path, squeezing his shoulder and not even reacting to T’Challa’s confirmation. “What happened to you, what you did… That wasn’t you.”
Bucky’s silent for a moment, looking past Steve’s shoulder to see Ross’s smirk as he heads back to the stand. “But I did it.”
“Damn it!” I curse, shooting into gunfire from where I was hiding behind the metal shelves. “Nat, Wanda, it’s an ambush. I need backup on the lower floor, I already have the data, but it won’t mean a damn thing if we don’t make it out of here.”
Red light swirls, and I hear cries of pain before it falls silent again. “I think I’ve subdued most of them,” Wanda grabs my hand, helping me back to my feet. “I’m grabbing a few more files before we go, in case not everything is in the hard drive. Between Stark and Shuri we should be able to-”
“Move!” I shove her hard, gasping out as pain floods my senses, making me stumble back and grip my side. I feel something warm and wet, and I wince as the added pressure only makes the pain throb. I glance down to see more pooling between my fingers, and I curse, gripping the shelf as Wanda knocks them out with her magic. “Fuck, the drive…”
Wanda uses her powers to help close the gash, using her other hand to grab the drive from my pocket. “It’s fine, what you should be worried about is you.” She uses her powers to help me walk, keeping her eyes out for more. “Maggie is hit, we need to retreat to the van and stop the bleeding.”
“FRIDAY, get Tony and send a ride,” I manage, wincing as I try to focus through the constant throbbing and feeling more and more dizzy as the seconds pass- a bad sign, but not one I want to distract from the goal. “The safe house is likely compromised if we were ambushed.”
“I’m on it,” Natasha says calmly, though I hear a strangled scream from her side of the comm.- thankfully not hers. “Just make it to the van, we’ll get you help.”
I nod weakly as the dizziness becomes harder to ignore, releasing a trembling breath when Wanda’s magic releases me and I collapse onto the seat, unable to do anything but try desperately to hold on. “Steve…”
Wanda and Nat share a look, Natasha looking uncharacteristically concerned as she works the controls. “Message him, FRIDAY. He should know the mission was compromised.”
“Your crimes against America, the world, are insurmountable.” Ross’ voice carries across the crowded room, full of reporters and families of known victims of the Winter Soldier. “You’ve single handedly caused a majority of the world’s most influential crimes, all at the hands of HYDRA.”
Bucky adjusts in his seat at the stand, looking uncomfortable. “I did,” He swallows, unable to look away from families with tears in their eyes. “I did, and I remember all of them.” The jury whispers amongst themselves, and he continues. “I remember them all because I relive them over and over again.” He closes his eyes when he hears the break in his voice, thinking of Howard’s stunned face. “Every night, I just see their faces… It’s gotten worse since I remembered. I know how out of control I felt. I remember feeling helpless, like I was watching someone else hurting everyone around me. Then the pain of being frozen back up like a piece of meat,” Bucky shakes his head, swallowing but determined to be as strong as he can. “I hated it. I hated thinking or feeling, because it hurt too much. It hurt to think about who I killed, what I left behind, if someone had a wife or kids they wouldn’t see again. And I- I tried to run, tried to wrap my head around what I did and make amends by staying away from everyone.”
“And you ran, instead of facing the consequences.” Ross shakes his head. “You ran because you knew you were guilty.”
“I am guilty.” Bucky watches Steve shift in his seat, the king placing a hand on the blond’s shoulder to keep him under control- the Steve he knows well. “I ran because I needed time to understand what happened in the gaps they iced me, and I wanted- needed- to understand the crimes I committed so I could work on atoning for them. I don’t deserve to be treated differently from anybody else.”
“Your Honor, the jury has reached a decision.” A voice from the stands calls, rising with a sheet of paper in his hands. “We do not need further time to evaluate.”
“Your honor, I’d like to say something,” Bucky clears his throat nervously, but he forces himself to make eye contact with everyone who was related to a victim- to someone he hurt or killed. “No matter what these results are… I want to apologize. To the families and friends of those I- I made suffer under HYDRA. It’s not enough, and it never will be, but I am truly sorry for what I did and I will always try to atone for what I did. Your family and friends didn’t deserve what was done to them, and I take full responsibility for what I did as the Winter Soldier.”
The judge clears his throat, the jury’s paper in his hand. “The findings of this court and jury are as follows… James Buchanan Barnes is hereby cleared of all charges, and pardoned for his war crimes under the torture and exploitation of HYDRA.”
Bucky blinks back tears, seeing the room erupt with cheers and questions, but what makes his tears fall is the sight of the family and friends standing and clapping, nodding to him in at best acknowledgement and acceptance of HYDRA’s influence on his acts. Ross looks peeved, but says nothing as he returns to his sear and Bucky is guided through the exit by security, T’Challa and Steve on each side as they ignore the flashes of cameras and questions the press is shouting at him.
For better or for worse, Bucky Barnes is a free man.
“How long do we have until we’re back at the safe house?” I wince at the sharpness in Wanda’s tone, her using some of her powers to help keep the wrap secure on my side. “I can only do so much before she’ll need medical attention.”
Natasha curses in Russian, and I feel the engine push as she speeds up, the rough terrain hard on the large gash on my side. “We’ll be there any minute, I can stitch her up before Tony’s jet gets here.” She curses again as the van hits a hard bump, making a strangled noise escape my lips where I’ve tried to be silent. “FRIDAY, have Tony speed up the jet and contact Steve. We need him home.”
“Captain Rogers has not answered any messages since 3pm,” The AI chirps, and if I didn’t know better I’d think she sounded apologetic. “Would you like me to contact King T’Challa?”
“No,” I grind, tensing as I try to fight through the wave of pain. “If he’s not answering it’s because he’s busy.”
Nat frowns, not bothering to hide the disapproval on her face. “Maggie…”
“Right now I care more about not bleeding out,” I manage weakly, crying out a bit when we hit another bump and nearly blacking out. “Nat-”
“Damn it,” Nat curses, stopping and jerking the gear into park as she nearly leaps over the seat. “Wanda, I need you on standby. We don’t have much time, I need to- Maggie, stay awake! FRIDAY, get Bruce and Tony on the line!”
It’s too late; the darkness sweeps over me, and I finally rest in sweet relief from the pain.

can you do an okoye x fem!reader where okoye claims that she is always doing missions but in fact she is just abusing her time outside of wakanda... y/n says the line in prompt #43 - angst... thank you!
|•|Lie?|•|
You laid on your empty duvet, you missed Okoye. She’d been gone quite a lot lately and it confused you, she kept telling you she’d be home soon but she was not. She had lied to you so much already and you felt hurt, she told you she was out of missions but when you asked Shuri or T’Challa they both denied.
When Okoye arrived home this time it had been weeks since she last saw you, she didn’t expect to see you covered by the covers with tear stained cheeks. “Sthandwa” she whispers as she walks over “What’s wrong my love?” She says as you stirred awake and looked at her.
Her eyes widened and tears welled up when you pushed her away from you and stood up “You! This is the third time you’ve broken a promise to me, I’m starting to think you are doing it on purpose.” You growled at her “Sthandwa what are you talking about? What is this madness?!” She growls but you only pushed away from her “I did no such thing as lie!” She yelled, but you already knew the truth. “I’m done Okoye! I’m done being treated like a piece of shit that you can use whenever you’d like, I’m done sitting around while you go and loligag in America!” You sneered.
Her face was filled with hurt when she looked at you, tears filling your eyes once again and you shoved your stuff in your bag and made your way out. “Fucking, I’m on a mission and shit!” You grumbled under your breath as you made your way out, you went to Shuri’s room. She’s been your best friend for years so that’s the one place you felt safe, when you reached her room she welcomed you with open arms as you explained what happened.
After a while you fell asleep, a knock lightly coming through the door about a hour later. “Y/n?” Okoye’s voice mumbled through the door “Please let me see her” Okoye spoke again and Shuri slid out of bed, her nimble fingers were quick to open the door. Okoye let a sigh of relief leave her lips when she saw you laying down asleep, Shuri looked at her and raise a brow and Okoye quickly rushed over to you. “Sthandwa” she whispered, your eyes fluttered as you looked at her “I’m so so sorry” she mumbled as she gave you a kiss on each of your knuckles.

I have this fic idea even though I have never wrote a fanfic in my life but it’s a little something like this:
As we know shuri and okoye go to mit to get riri but not only is riri in the room, also her roommate/best friend. Nothing too crazy right? Wrong.
During the whole confrontation with only shuri and riri, when riri goes to the bathroom her roommate is watching the whole time (obviously) gauging what the hell the princess is doing (but also kinda checking her out, you know) but things start to escalate when okoye comes out the bathroom, riri throws her speaker, okoye pulls out her spear. Guess who also has a spear, the best friend.
You may be wondering “how does this random girl have a spear, specifically a wakandan spear?” This is because my characters parents are from wakanda, her mother being a former Dora milaje during King T’Chaka’s reign. Her parents left wakanda and went to America. My characters mother has been training her like a Dora, she is a pretty skilled fighter but she could be better.
Anyways, okoye pulls out her spear, my character pulls out her spear and now everyone is surprised because wtf does this random mit student have a wakandan spear. Then the story goes from there.
I don’t think that’s too crazy of a plot or anything. I should try and write it but, maybe not as a fic, more as a one-shot and see how it goes from there.

a/n hey yall this is a lil cute lil drabble its like 1k if you enjoyed show luvvvv thankyouuuu also if you see any typos.... no u didn't
*
the sun sits high, lighting up the courtroom. the regularly monthly meeting is in play. all counsel members sit in the 8 chairs. jabari tribe, golden tribe, border tribe, river tribe, mining tribe, merchant tribe.
riri and shuri sit in the middle of the throne circle, okoye stands behind them. using her kimoyo beads, she pulls up her notes.
“so as for the golden tribe we do have a couple of renovations, we are sending kids to the river tribe to learn future crop skills. riri will have a designated full lab, it's scheduled to be done tomorrow. the queen's room is having renovations. also, the trade route with tribes is changing due to treaties from last month. we the golden tribe are amping up the number of orders from the merchant tribe and the mining tribe.”
okoye finishes speaking, all the member shake their heads in agreement. but confusion is planted on the two youngest faces. riri is the first to speak up.
“im getting my own lab?!?” riri strains her neck to look up at okoye. the general giving a warm smile at her reaction.
“yes, we all see how cramped you two are getting in shuri’s lab. plus, with the new tech you two have put out, you deserve it” the general finishes with a smile, pearly whites shining.
“ cool… why is my room being changed? and what’s up with riri getting a whole new lab, she's fine where she's at” shuri turns to look at okoye.
“your room is too small” the general gives a quick lipped answer back.
“it’s just me and fine” shuri continues, ignoring okoye’s wishes to dead the topic.
“the room isn't big enough for the two of you” she leans down into shuri's ear
“welllll i’m just saying that’s a lot. also, she stays in america… and we are just friends” shuri finishes
“wow! uyaxoka!(you're lying!)” okoye break from the faint whispering, to yelling. her eyes pop out of her head at shuri. said girl springs out of her chair, she claps her hands.
“ meeting’s over! thankyou!” shuri hurries and bids her goodbyes to all tribe leaders. sensing the tension filled room, they quickly file out. a few noisy ones (m’baku) sicking around. shuri reaches for riri hands, and they start to make their way out of the throne room.
“friends! think you're slick… and you're not.”
“what” they say in unison
“ms riri i truly don’t fault you, i put all the blame on shuri.”
“MEE?!?”
“yes you! must you always lie to us. YOU THINK I AM AN IDIOT???! HUH?”
“bast, no, no i don’t” shuri pleads, while nakia, ayo and ankea walk into the room.
“whats all the nois-” nakia starts, but m’baku stops her, “sshh shhh its getting good”.
“ oh i’m gonna go to haiti, i’m not looking for love, riri pshhh that’s just a sister” okoye continues in her best shuri voice.
“i didn’t lie” shuri answers in a monotone voice. riri peels the panther's fingers away from her wrist. she goes to sit down, knowing this conversation is going to be long. nakia jumps in the conversation
“ you lied about going to haiti and went to riri- by the way i’m not mad! i think it sooo cute-
cute?” m’baku stands up from the chair. a strong finger raised at riri he yells
“CUTE? that small! puny! big headed! girl isn’t cute. she yelled at me on the phone! AND FOR WHAT?”
m’baku says to nakia, shuri and okoye break at the big man's yelling.
“ what are you going on and on about” okoye whines, walking into the room further.
“ i think the two were in bed” he starts by whispering. shuri takes her seat next to riri, they sit in the middle of the room. a small look is barely exchanged when m’baku continues his story.
“i called shuri, because she dumped all her work AS A QUEEN on me.” he turns his head to look at riri
“ and this little gremlin answers her beads. talking about ‘she said she busy, don’t make me get up’.”
m’baku finishes, silence filling the room. nakia is the first to speak up
“really that’s it, it’s not that bad” she says with a shrug
“THIS RIRI THREATEN TO BASH MY HEAD IN”
“NO I DID NOT” riri finally springs up from the seat.
“MIGHT AS WELL! ‘don't MAKE YOU GET UP?’ those are fighting words!” he screeches throughout the courtroom.
“you were bothering us” shuri shrugs, reaching up to riri’s wrist to pull her back down to the seat. as she plops down, okoye damn near loses her mind.
“ EWE! (yes!) EWE!(yes!) seee that” okoye shakes nakia while pointing at the interaction
“ that right there and then what about the dates?” okoye starts with shuri
“nope that's normal”
“…friends don’t do that, what about sharing clothes” okoye walks closer to shuri, anger and disbelief all over her.
“okay that's even superrr normal for me” riri justifies with a smile.
“oh wow riri the trader”
“im sorryyy”
“yeah but friends don't miss work, leaving their county in the hands of her incompetent brother, to rush home to the other one because they caught a cold.” okoye was in shuri’s face, they entered a battle of excuses and passive aggressiveness.
“really good friends do that, yes they do!” shuri defends.
“oooo this is getting goood” a loud smacking sound breaking the argument as nakia and m’baku snack on a bag of chips.
“...friends don’t have to carry the other drunk friend out while trying to shush them- because the other is spilling the DISGUSTING….stuff they wanna do to them” the general ends with a disguised look at riri.
“ nope! key word drunk.” shuri springs up making okoye back up.
“waking up in the others clothes”
“that still doesn’t mean”
“DAMNIT SHURI WE SAW YOU TWO KISSING” okoye cries out. seconds pass and nothing comes from shuri.
“dang that's crazy” riri breaks the silence with a loud cackle nakia and m’baku following
“oop” “that is so embarrassing”
“like… we have cameras, and we can hear a lot from the entry at the dead of night. so you and drunk riri we heard it all.” okoye sighs, finally sitting down on one of the many chairs.
“ like i don't know why you are keeping it a secret, if anything im going to be the first one to know.”
“um actually no, i would be the first thank you!” m’baku argues
“oh right which is why you saw drunk riri getting carried through the door, or when our shuri needed riri when she could eat or sleep, or when shuri first got hurt she went to riri's dorm and not here… even when wakanda was hours closer…. you knew all of that?”
“ummm-” “right that's what i thought”okoye brushes him off.
shuri pouts “okayyy jikelele (general), but in my defense we have been taking things slow”
“yes very slow, and we JUST kissed” riri chimes in
“and i asked her to kinda keep it on the low because this is my relationship and i don't like people (m’baku) in my business” riri finishes glaring at him.
“yeah so just be chill, and stop acting like that! we aren't even married yet” shuri pleads as she gets up to leave the room.
“ehh who’s fault it that? hmm so we are supposed to act like your wife isn’t your wife- why isn’t she your wife ? she even helped with your paper work! she sits on our council meetings, she is VERY involved with wakanda. and she literally sits on the throne next to you, that girl is married”
“right like all of a sudden she cares about traditions and rules” nakia adds as they exit the courtroom.

Comfortember Day Three : Warm Food
Fandom: MCU/Captain America ♡ Main: Steve and Bucky ♡ Ship: Stucky ♡ Features: Domestic super-soldiers, Depression-Era Reminiscing, sneezing, losing voices, chilly autumn gardening, and love in the form of cooking.
Read on AO3
Somewhere, in an undisclosed stretch of land in upstate New York, two super-soldiers embarked on the task of harvesting vegetables from their garden. The chill in the autumn air indicated that it was time to begin pulling carrots up from their safe cloaks of soil and dusting off beets to prepare them for pickling later on.
Maybe Bucky will have developed a taste for them this year.
Usually, this would be a simple feat. As previously mentioned, they were super-soldiers after all. How hard would it be to pluck an apple from their tree when you could literally rip the trunk in half with your bare hands?
Well, today, that aforementioned autumn chill was catching up with the pair. The change in the seasons, specifically from summer to fall, usually left them feeling achy, with a wide range of other symptoms including Bucky’s raw throat and Steve’s unrelenting congestion.
A few of their more scientifically inclined friends, namely Tony, Bruce, and Shuri, came to the conclusion that their enhanced immune systems were just overreacting to the new strains of influenza and rhinovirus that peak in the fall and winter in the northeast…
Bucky and Steve usually stopped paying much attention after that, the explanations getting longer and longer each year. All that they knew was that they felt terrible, and it was best just to hole up in their home for a while and ride their illnesses out together. This proved infinitely more beneficial than being laid up in some technologically advanced medical facility where microbiologists would come in to steal their used tissues.
Yes, the home that they had made their own a few years back, was a much better place to recoup. The pair had been fighting off fevers for the past few days and were finally starting to get out of their fog, allowing them to do something a bit more active today. They decided that a bit of light gardening and collecting some fresh vegetables for a warm stew would be an appropriate use of their time and somewhat renewed energy.
Steve, sinuses still riddled with pressure, found it painful to smile, but couldn’t help himself as he watched Bucky. The other man was haphazardly bundled in a crewneck fleece and a knit scarf, the fringe at the end dragging in the soil as he reached for the herbs in front of him.
“Who knew that James Buchanan Barnes would have such a green thumb?”
Bucky kept his gaze down, letting out a barely audible chuckle followed by a few weak coughs. He continued to pluck sprigs of rosemary off of the plant.
“Well technically, it’s a vibranium thumb…”
Steve rolled his eyes, but looked on in adoration. He placed his chin on Bucky’s shoulder and snaked his sweater-clad arms around the brunette’s waist. Brushing the dirt off of his scarf, he kissed Bucky’s jaw, noting the warmth of his skin.
“Very funny… I guess I’m just jealous.”
Bucky tipped his chin up and to the left, catching a glance at two warm, half lidded blue eyes and stringy flaxen hair. He flashed Steve a smirk.
“Jealous?”
“Yes, jealous! Look at these baskets!” Steve, keeping his head on Bucky’s shoulder, thrust his hand forward to emphasize the bountiful harvest before them. “You planted the carrots, and the parsnips, and the herbs. You even grew that funny looking squash.”
“Okay, well you really impressed me with those potatoes…”
“I better have! If I didn’t I’m pretty sure Sarah Rogers herself would have come to haunt me.”
A few breathy chuckles were punctuated by a sniffle from Steve. A solemn silence then fell over the garden.
“I miss your mom.”
Bucky lifted his flesh hand, warmer to the touch than the other, and placed it on Steves, still resting on his abdomen. Steve threaded his right fingers through Bucky’s, pulling his vibranium hand in with his left.
“Me too”, Steve and Bucky began gently rocking side to side, “I think about her a lot when I’m out here. She would have loved this garden.”
“Hey, remember when she would take us to the gardens in the city when we were younger? The ones they made in old lots?”
“So people could feed their families, of course I remember. Sometimes that’s the only way we’d get food that week. Ma also made me pick tomatoes just to feel useful for once.”
“Yeah, and I got stuck trucking your full wagon up the hill. You were always running up behind and sneezing your ass off because you were allergic to the flowering vegetables. And the trees… and the sun.”
“Alright alright, I get it…”
As if on cue, Steve stifled two harsh sneezes into the crook of Bucky’s neck, barely scrambling out of his embrace with the other man before a third overtook him, let out forcefully, but ragged.
“Yeah! Like that! Bless you, doll.”
“Thangk you…” Steve ran his sweater sleeve delicately under his nose, his voice rounding out with congestion. Bucky frowned.
“We should get you inside, it’s not getting any warmer out here and your cheeks are getting flushed again.”
Steve softened his features, supplying a pathetic sniffle. His shoulders dropped and his head tipped to one side, looking at Bucky with a mix of fondness and sentiment.
“I also remember you talking to me like that when we were younger. ‘Oh Stevie, your cheeks are flushed’, ‘have you got your handkerchief, Steve?’, ‘Oh doll, did you forget your gloves?”, the blonde nudged playfully.
“Are you kidding me? Have you thought about your old self lately? Its a medical miracle that you made it through the things you have. Those concerns were warranted.”
Steve stepped back, throwing his hands up in feigned surrender. With a wet chuckle he clapped a hand on Bucky’s back.
“I know, angel” Steve reassured, “You know I know. I kid because you don’t have to worry anymore. Not in the same way, at least. I can take care of you now, too. Especially when your voice sounds like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like a lawnmower!”
“Alright, alright- let’s get inside and both get warmed up.”
The pair gathered the baskets, brimming with a colorful harvest and made their way up the path toward the house. They maneuvered through the door and into the kitchen, where they began the process of sorting and washing the vegetables for their stew.
Bucky took the job of chopping, as he argued that his knife skills were superior. Steve wanted to refute, but realized that using a sharp blade while managing fits of sneezing was probably not a wise choice. Instead, Steve sautéed carrots, onions, and celery in a pan while also bundling sachets of herbs, stealing adoring glances at the man accompanying him in the kitchen.
He wasn’t used to this much abundance, and he knew Bucky felt similarly, but was pleased with the way they could use this meal to come together and share their love. Each of them contributing flavors and skills, stealing swift kisses and gentle touches as they warmed the bread and set out bowls and spoons. Bucky’s laugh inaudible as the steam from the pot made Steve sneeze again.
They mutually agreed to eat their meal on the couch in front of the fire, while shrouding themselves in thick flannel blankets. They recalled more memories of their childhood, swapping stories that made their eyes shine with nostalgia -finally feeling comfortable enough with their presents to look back on their pasts.
As the night stretched on, and Bucky’s voice faded from an abrasive rasp to a painful whisper and Steve’s aching sinuses made it hard to keep his head up, they slowly came to a silence. Empty bowls of stew lay on the coffee table and the fire died down to only embers, leaving the pair of super-soldiers entwined on their sofa- finally able to just relax, to just be ill. To finally be together, and to be home.
To finally be human.

(This has been on my drafts for so long that when I edited it, it's showing me old tumblr version. So I'm putting this out on the wild).
MCU Steve = Steve that went back in time Timeline Steve = The OG Steve at the timeline mcu Steve crashed
When Steve went back in time to Peggy, here's what he planned to do and did:
• Be with Peggy
• Made sure that the search for Captain America expedition was stopped. It was easy with him being there, no one suspected there's another Steve Rogers missing.
• Find Bucky (he was late by a few years and the damage was done but now, Bucky's safe in a secured location while in cryo. he plans to bring Bucky to Shuri one day).
• Destroy all the Hyrda bases, made sure Zola and other Hydra SHIELD agents were flushed out.
• That Obadiah was caught selling to the blackmarket, nipping the friendship between Obadiah and Howard. He also encouraged Howard towards clean energy business instead of war profiteering.
When all seems to be at peace, Steve had managed to convince Peggy to retire and moved to London. If he did that before Howard's son was born, Steve would say it's just a coincidence and regrets that they wouldn't be able to meet Howard Jr but they wish them all the best.
Because the truth is, Steve feels guilty. Here he is getting his second chance while the Tony he knew left his second chance for the universe to get theirs.
(If Steve looked deeper into himself, he's running away from what he feels for Tony, something he doesn't want to explore).
Thanks to being in the 1970s, it was so easy to disconnect from the others. Especially when you're overseas.
Steve and Peggy tried to lead a normal life. Tried to get pregnant but failed multiple times. The miscarriages took a toll on their marriage but they endured because they love each other.
What Steve didn't expect to happen, or wished not to happen but did happen anyways:
• that timeline's Steve Rogers was found. Fuck Global Warming.
That TimelineSteve was angry. Angry at MCU Steve for stealing what could've been his life. So MCU Steve gave Bucky to him. It's way too early but now at least, that timeline Steve got a purpose. To heal his (their?) best friend. He also gave that Steve permission to un-retire Captain America.
MCU Steve grew a beard and Peggy wasn't happy with the beard burns. They moved to another part of London with a new name. Grant and Peggy Stevens.
Now that timeline Steve is with SHIELD, Steve breathe a little easier knowing it'll be harder for Hydra to infiltrate it.
The other thing Steve didn't expect to happen but did happen anyways:
• In 1991, Tony Stark was kidnapped while doing a presentation to help Vietnam filter their water. That timeline Steve was busy with the Carol fiasco so MCU Steve volunteered to go save Tony.
The last thing that Steve didn't want to happen but happened anyways:
• Realizing how he really feels for MCU Tony. The reason he ran to this past was because he couldn't accept that Tony's gone forever. That what he felt as strong friendship to Tony was a hair thin line to a romantic one.
But it's too late. He's always late.
Seeing Tony again made him feel alive again. But he had to go back to his wife.
When he returned, Steve couldn't lie to Peggy so he told her. Without mentioning any names, Steve confessed it to Peggy. Peggy just smiled at him sadly, telling him that she’d suspected it for years. But she’s glad that Steve had finally showed her that part of him.
After that, Steve knows what will happen next but hoped it wouldn't:
• That Timeline Steve fell in love with Tony Stark.

Chapter 2 - New lives
Your eyes were still closed.
You could hear the muffled sound of music coming from the first floor, and the sound of America doing a mess on the kitchen. The light from the sun sneaking inside your room through the blinds until the soft hues of yellow light touched your face. Mornings had become harder ever since you lost your parents, the weight of responsibility settled right in as soon as you regained consciousness and your life choices started dancing right in front of you until you decided to stand up.
A heavy sigh left your lips, the mobile resting on your table was flashing with the couple of messages you were receiving already.
“Fuck.” The curse left your lips with a rusty tone, your hand grabbing the phone to see who wrote to you during the night and most of the morning.
After seeing at least four of them, you knew it would be one of those days.
With another sigh, you sat up ready to start the day.
“Fuck all of this.” You mumbled again before turning around and going to the bathroom.
*****
The taste of coffee on your lips was everything you needed to improve your morning.
That, and watching America danced around the kitchen while sorting the breakfast and her lunch for that school day. The both of you were completely different, yet you two were just the same; you father had married a young woman he met just after your mother died in a car accident. At first you were not so sure with the relationship, you were still a child and your mom was just gone and this woman was nothing like her.
Then, America was born, and you forgot everything about her not being your mom.
If America was your little Sister, then Elena could be her mother.
“So, I see that Carol texted you,” America started in a teasing tone, her eyes taking a good glance at you before going back to the pan on the counter, “are you two going out again?”
“You read the message Carol sent, you mean.” You replied rolling your eyes, America shrugged not really caring about the semantics in the conversation.
“I’m your little sister, and you’re not very good with passwords, I can do what I want.”
“You sounded like Loki.” You replied grimacing a little, America turned around arching a single eyebrow at you.
“You’re so not going to go out of this conversation.” America crossed her arms waiting, for a moment you played with the idea of just not saying anything at all, but America would not drop it and she would find out eventually.
“I am seeing her tonight.” You gave in, shrugging. “She has this thing back at the base and wants me there with her.”
“So, you two guys…” America made a gesture with her hands, you snorted shrugging again.
“No idea.” You played with the fruit on your plate furrowing your brows. “I’m not sure if I want to, you know?”
America softened at your confession, your last serious relationship had been Shuri and that didn't end well. Then you found yourself in several affairs that only bring distractions to your life but not real satisfaction, America glanced at the house that used to be the Romanoff household then she turned her attention back at you.
The last year and a half had not been easy, but whereas America had distracted herself with school and friends you had to take the mantle of big sister and heir to the small fortune left by your parents. She knew you had been under a lot of pressure and, any day now, you would explode under it.
Perhaps, going out with Carol Danvers was what you needed it, even though America herself was not so sure about the blond-haired woman.
"I think you deserve to have some fun, and go out for the time being before you decide to settle for something serious." America leaned against the counter offering you a rare smile, you smiled back at her shrugging again.
“We will see, little sister, we will see."
America winced throwing a towel at you, “don’t call me that. Aren’t you late for work?”
“Aren’t you late for school?” You replied back turning your wrist to see the hour.
“Nah, it’s still earlier, and I’m waiting for Kate.”
You nodded standing up and drinking the last of your coffee, the atmosphere change for a moment and you had to wonder if perhaps you were missing something. There was dust of pink on America’s checks, but otherwise nothing seemed amiss.
“Today I have a meeting about dad’s will, and the succession process.” You said softly, this was something you already discussed with America but the subject was still sore for the both of you. “I think we will need to talk about everything, but how about we do it during lunch tomorrow?”
America swallowed her questions; she nodded offering you a weak smile.
“So, you gonna be late today?” She asked and this time around you caught the tone she used.
“No parties, and certainly no sex in the house, is that understood?”
America almost fell down, her face this time around was completely red with her mouth hanging open. You couldn’t help the laugh leaving your lips at her expression, she was looking flustered and indignant.
“I’m not going to have sex!” America almost yelled, and soon she covered her mouth while glaring at you. “What’s wrong with you?”
“With me? What’s wrong with you? You’re going to have the house for yourself and you’re not going to bring Kate…”
“She is a friend!!”
The way America turned red, and how was tapping on the table told you otherwise. You arched your brow, though decided against any further comment seeing as whatever was happening between Kate and America had not been consolidate. Yet.
“Of course, your friend.” You pressed your lips together holding back your laughter, America pressed a hand on her face trying to hide away her embarrassment.
The vibration from your phone broke the moment, you made a face glancing at the name gleaming through the screen. America leaned in, her brows coming together in a familiar gesture that reminded you of Elena. Your face softened grabbing the phone and putting it away, your arms wrapping around the teen before placing a soft kiss on her head.
“Don’t worry about it, Tony is just…being Tony, and I bet this was actually Pepper messaging me from his phone since I didn’t answer her message of this morning.” You stepped aside grabbing your car keys. “Please, be careful and write me if you need anything, okay?”
“Yeah, don’t worry, I’ll be good, I won’t make any parties and…I won’t do anything you wouldn’t do.”
You chuckled shaking your head, if America did half the things you did at her age you would be in great trouble.
The morning was cold, but the sun was just sneaking around the heavy clouds gliding right above the suburbs. The music started inside your car, your mind already on the million things you would need to face once you get to the Stark Tower; a lot of things had to be sorted out and you knew the conversation you had pending with America needed to happen on that very weekend.
If you had been paying attention to your surroundings, you would have noticed the garage door of the house next door opening, and the red car coming out of the garage with a ruckus happening right in the back seat. But as fate might had wanted it, you were just as distracted as the other woman and, by the time you both realized was happening it was late.
The sound of metal hitting metal was quite evident, your eyes opened wide and you stopped just on time before the hit could be worse than it already was.
“Fuck, what the hell?”
The sound had been an exageration of what actually happened. The woman in the red car had hit the metal bin right sepparating your driveway to the one from your neighbour. In all reality, the hit had been worse for her that had a scratch on the back of her car whereas you almost ran the metal bin with yours.
Still, this only meant another delay and the fact that now you had an idiot for a neighbour. You made a face rolling your eyes when you caught the sound of a door closing and footsteps apporaching.
Nothing could have prepared you for the sight in front of you.
Last night, the woman had been a vision, and an afterthought. You never dreamt of meeting her again, and after being an asshole with her and what she needed it you wished you would never see her again.
Yet, her she was.
This time around she looked different.
Her suit was professional looking, and the light makeup with her hairstyle made her look beautiful. There was still a trace of something in her eyes, a lack of light and heavy bags under her eyes but otherwise she was looking so much different to the mess of a woman you had seen the night before.
The worry in her features soon changed to one of annoyance, and this time around her green eyes gleamed with animosity when they too recognized you.
“You!” She spat with old anger she held from your last encounter, you raised an eyebrow and the annoyance you felt at the moment rose inside your chest making you draw a smile that Wanda found equally annoying to the one you wore the night before.
“Damn, you decided to take revenge for the yogurt yesterday?” You let out a half smile, your phone at the ready taking the pictures. “Do you know this is my part of the street, so in theory is your fault?”
“Excuse me?” Wanda couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she stood there for a moment trying to gather her courage after the impact. "What the hell is your malfunction?"
She was still trembling, the cries from the twins resounding in her head and the bad night sleep taking its toll on her. You opened your mouth to speak when your phone started ringing, this time around Pepper was the one calling.
“Look, as interesting as this could turn out to be, I have cameras and everything to proof you fucked up.” You said walking backwards to your car. “Let’s not make a big deal of this, afterall I did not suffer any damage...but I can always point you over to a good driving instructor so this won't happen again? I would hate for next time you hitting my car in the safety of our driveways."
You glanced at your phone, then at your watch and without looking back to a dumbstruck Wanda you waved good-bye.
"Have a good day, Lady!"
Wanda was still trembling when you drove down the street, your mouth opening and closing while discussing with someone over the phone. Wanda clenched her eyes shut, her trembling hand resting on the side of the car while she repeated the same mantra inside her head over and over again.
It wasn’t him; it wasn’t him…it wasn’t him. He doesn’t know you’re here.
The muffled sound of crying made her stirred into action, opening the door she accommodated herself to calm down Billy while Tommy grabbed his favorite blanket closer to his chest. The tears were rolling down her face, she whispered sweet things to Billy while offering a shaky smile until the boy sniffed grabbing Wanda’s hand in his.
Wanda knew she would be late that day, her morning had not been better than her night but at least this time around there was no one around to scream at her, to drag her back into the house for her stupidity and her distracted nature. The car could survive, and she would certainly send the other woman to hell for being a complete asshole but for now the important thing was that she and the kids were safe.
What were the odds that the same stupid woman from the day before was the same one living next door?
Wanda shook her head making sure Billy and Tommy were fine, before going to the front and making her way to the school. That day, her new life would start and she wouldn’t let anyone, specially someone as incredible stupid as the woman next door to mess with her humour, or the new life she was trying to build.
*****
The nursery was filled with children form the faculty, as well as some of the younger siblings of the students going to the Elementary and the High School right next door. The institution was actually one of the few prestigious schools in the country, it had been built for the students with great minds but probably without the resources to afford the best education the country could offer. It had been stablished in the early 50´s and the school board was led by one of the most important women in the educational system in the country.
Natasha Romanoff wrapped her arms tightly around Wanda, the young woman dropped her shoulders and allowed the comfort this gesture brough to her soul. They had met almost a year ago, the last time Wanda had been at the hospital with a broken arm and a knife wound; that day Natasha had offered a way out and Wanda had taken it without any hesitation.
“How are you doing? How was the trip? The house, was of your liking?”
Natasha was beautiful, with a light makeup and red lips matching her hair many confused her beauty for stupidity or even for her being an easy piece of ass. On the contrary, Natasha was a shark amongst a world govern by men, her inner circle was made of great men and women that had been trying to build a better society in the midst of politics and difficulties. She was smart, and assertive with great ideas as how the things at school should be done and her side job had been of great help to women and men around the country that suffered the horrors of violence in their households.
Wanda offered a shaky smile, her eyes dancing around the small room before they settled on the twins.
“It has been…hard.” She replied in a soft voice, “last night I couldn’t help but look at the clock on the wall and…”
Natasha softened nodding; her hand placed on the woman’s arm before she too went to look at the twins that were playing together in a corner.
“It takes time, Wanda, don’t rush yourself.” Natasha then nodded at the twins. “They will get there, and you too.”
“Thank you for everything, the house was…it was amazing.” She then made a face, she wasn’t sure if she should mention the fact her neighbour was a bitch, Natasha noticed her expression and squeezed her arm softly.
“What is it?”
“Oh, nothing just…I have an encounter with this woman, she was a total bitch and…I think that’s the only bad thing that happen to me since getting here, you know?”
Natasha chuckled shaking her head, “well, I’m glad that’s the only bad thing so far, bitchy people are all around the world you just have to ignore them.”
Wanda shrugged nodding, she hesitated for a moment before following Natasha out of the nursery and down a long hall connecting to the main building.
“You will be with the seniors class, they are…special.” Natasha hesitated for a moment before laughing at Wanda’s expression. “Special as in they are in advanced levels but on different fields, not as in troublemakers.”
Wanda made a face shaking her head apologetically, “I didn’t mean…I mean, all children deserve a fair treatment, and being difficult is just part of their grow process or…”
“Oh, don’t misunderstand me, every single student in this place is a troublemaker.” Natasha commented, her lips never loosen up the smile adorning her features. “I think that’s the best part of this job.”
Natasha made a brief description of the building and the students, Wanda was listening attentively admiring everything around her. The students would come in greeting Natasha and herself before running down the halls or screaming or laughing, Wanda couldn’t help the smile adorning her features at the familiarity of it all. She remembered still the day she graduated from University and went right ahead to look for a job, weeks after having married Vis; her life had been amazing up until Vis stated he didn’t like her going out so much and always being late or working at home and much less being around so many kids and their parents.
Wanda’s dream of being a teacher soon came crashing down after a school meeting, it had been innocent enough but that day Wanda learned the true nature of her husband and weeks later she quit.
“This is amazing.” Wanda finally commented with a smile, Natasha nodded signalling the black door down the hall. “This will be your classroom, I know your specialty was English and Spanish, but I also know you have some knowledge of Cultural Studies and literature, that’s what I want you to do with them.”
Wanda nodded enthusiastically, she had received the lesson plan for the semester and the study plan for the whole year. These kids were really high advanced in everything they did and her classes would be a way to help them develop critical thinking and argumentation skills during debates; at least that was what Wanda would like to teach them.
“No one knows about your past, Wanda.” Natasha finally said opening the door and handing the key to Wanda, she walked towards the desk were she had organized the files the young woman would need. “You are here with your maiden name, and with a nice backstory, remember that.”
“I will, Natasha. I don’t know…I really don’t know how to thank you for everything you have done for me.” Wanda finally stated turning to the woman, her eyes gleaming with unshed tears. “I will do my best, I…thank you.”
“Don’t need to thank me, Wanda.” Natasha offered another hug to the woman. “That’s what we’re here for, remember that part of the process is talking about it and you have a meeting with Hope tomorrow.”
“I know, I will be there.” Wanda then leaned back chewing on her lip with uncertainty, Natasha furrowed her brow tilting her head.
“What is it?”
“The twins, I mean…I can’t take them with me but…”
Natasha nodded understanding what Wanda meant, she pointed with her head to the classroom chuckling.
“You have at least twenty teens in this place, you can ask one of them to babysit for you.” Natasha shook her head before Wanda could reply. “You will need a babysitter either way, you can ask around and if you’re still unsure, come over later on and I will help you with that.”
Once Natasha left, Wanda was left alone in the classroom.
This place was like nothing she had seen before, the desks and the walls, the windows and the general decoration was relaxing and actually quite homey. Wanda sat on her desk, the laptop resting there had her name already and the password ended up being her employee ID. She started looking around the different files, the names of her students and what each one of them had been doing up until that point. Natasha was not kidding when she said all of them were gifted in some way.
It wasn’t only about Academy, most of them were either good at sports or arts, some of them were pretty good at politics and science. The good and the bad was included in the files, and Wanda realized that even if everything was looking pretty and organise there were internal problems that sometimes affected the overall performance.
Wanda learned that one of her students was a loner, not a single friend and with absent parents. Another one lost her parents in a car accident and her big sister ended up taken care of her. One of the kids was living with his uncles, and another one found recently he was adopted with a real father that almost killed him when he went to confront him.
Wanda jumped on her chair when the door of the classroom open and a group of girls came right in, all of them talking loudly until they realized the room was not empty.
“Oh, sorry I…we didn’t know there was someone in here already…” America hesitated for a moment, her eyes wide open observing the woman sitting at the professor’s desk.
“Oh, please!” Wanda stood up smiling tentatively at the group. “Come on in, we’re about to start.”
“What’s the delay, Chavez? Move it!” Yelena went right in pushing through the group until she stopped dead on her tracks, scowling openly at the woman standing in the room. “Who the hell are you?”
“Yelena!” Kate and America exclaimed at the same time, Wanda opened her eyes surprised, she took a breath trying to calm down her beating heart.
“I’m Wanda Maximoff, the new teacher.”
______________________________________________________________
Rain had started falling again.
This time around, it was a mild drizzle with low temperatures and strong winds. Wanda sighed looking at the time on her watch walking down the halls leading to the nursery. Even with the bad weather, and with the tiredness of the day, Wanda couldn’t wipe the smile from her face. She was back in the classroom, and she had enjoyed the class itself too much. Her students were smart, they would participate in every activity she proposed and in general the different classes she had given that day had been a success.
It was as if she was recovering a small part of her life she lost all those years ago.
With her body almost giving up, she turned around the corner noticing at that moment the loud conversation at the other end of the hall.
Loki crossed his arms glaring at the five year old boy that was glaring at him equally annoyed, America and Kate both hid their smiles behind their hands while Yelena and Kamala were just waiting exasperated.
“Now!” Loki barked to which the boy shook his head stomping his feet on the ground.
“No!”
Inside the room, Billy and Tommy were watching wide eye the scene, their eyes lit up as soon as they saw the familiar form of their mother coming to the room.
“MOM!” The group jumped at the exclamation; Wanda softened slightly kneeling down to receive the hugs from the twins.
“Professor Maximoff.” America turned slightly, softening under the scene. “Oh, we didn’t know you have children. Hey there, guys.”
America knelt down offering a half smile to the twins, the two boys glanced at her then back at Wanda that was smiling tiredly at everyone.
“Yes, they are Billy.” She said pointing to the boy wearing the green shirt. “And Tommy. Children, these are my students, America, Kate, Yelena, Kamala and Loki.”
Yelena crossed her arms, though she was impressed by the memory of the new teacher. Kate and Kamala did the same as America kneeling down to greet at the twins while Loki and the blond-haired kid were still in a glaring contest.
“Hi.” Tommy mumbled snuggling closer to Wanda, the young woman glanced at Loki then at the kid.
“Are you guys okay? You need any help?” She asked tentatively, America chuckled standing up while shaking her head.
“Nah, this is…like their bonding time, happens every time.”
“Balder refuses to use his jacket, Loki refuses to get him out of here without the jacket.” Continued Kate shrugging.
“And then, Loki would blackmail the kid, and everyone is happy.” Finished Yelena eyeing the woman in front of her.
Wanda lifted her eyebrows half amused and half confused by this, she glanced at Tommy and Billy both of them looking in disapproval.
“I see, guys go for your jackets, we’re leaving.” Wanda watched as Tommy grabbed Billy’s hand dragging him back inside the room.
“They’re so cute, Professor.” Kate offered shyly.
“Thank you, they can be a handful, though.” Wanda replied softening slightly. “Double the trouble, but quite worth it.”
America was about to speak when  Loki huffed lifting his arms in defeat.
“Fine! One ice cream and one chocolate bar, nothing else.”
Balder smirked nodding stretching his little hand to him, before running back to the nursery. Loki shook his eyes glaring at everyone lifting a single finger.
“Not a word.” Loki straightened up directing his usual charming smile to the older woman. “Professor Maximoff, glad to see you around, I hope you have a wonderful day?”
Wanda opened her eyes slightly, her lips curling slightly at the over politeness from Loki.
“I did, thank you, Loki.”
America rolled her eyes, and Wanda realized this was really something that happened on a daily basis. She watched as her children came back in, for a brief moment she hesitated with her eyes dancing around the room then back to the twins.
“Mom, we’re ready!”
“I’m hungry.”
Wanda leaned in putting some strands of hair out of Billy’s face, “I know baby, we’re going home and making your favourite today.”
Billy’s eyes lit up nodding enthusiastically, Wanda straightened up ready to say good-bye when something else pushed inside her mind.
“Well, I think this is it for today,” she smiled at the teens grabbing the twins on each hand, she hesitated for a moment before speaking again, “I hope you kids have a great rest of the afternoon and a nice weekend.”
“Thank you, ma’am, I wish the same for you.” Loki replied bowing his head, Kamala hit him on his arm shaking her head exasperate.
“Stop the theatrics.” Kamala turned to the older woman waving slightly. “Bye, Professor, happy weekend.”
“I didn’t know she had children.” Yelena finally said once she was sure Wanda was out of earshot. “Actually, we don’t know much about her, don’t you think?”
Kamala shrugged writing over her phone, “so what? She deserves her privacy, and I think her class was pretty cool.”
“I’m not talking about that, I know it was cool.” Yelena scoffed crossing her arms. “I just…Natasha has been quite mysterious about this new teacher, and now that we met her well…she didn’t say much about herself when she introduced to us.”
“Don’t tell me you’re suspecting her of something, Yelena.” Kate shook her head bumping into the other woman. “I thought she was nice, and quite smart.”
“And beautiful.” Loki chimed in, his eyes glassing over dreamily. “Did you see her eyes? Her hair? Her face?”
America nodded standing beside Loki, Kate shot her a quick glance rolling her eyes.
“I have to agree with Loki, Professor Maximoff is quite beautiful”
“She is hot, I agree.” Yelena made a face when Kamala and Kate glanced at her. “I’m Ace not an idiot, I can say she is hot without wanting to jump her bones…I’m not like these two.”
America and Loki made a face quite offended.
“I don’t want to jump her bones!” America defended herself. “I just think she is hot!”
“I wouldn’t say know, she doesn’t look that old, but she has children, ergo she is married.” Loki replied shrugging.
“That and Sylvie probably kills him if she finds out.” Kamala mumbled chuckling, Loki flushed ready to reply until Balder grabbed his hand putting on him.
“Are we ready, Loki?”
“Let us not discuss this anymore.” Loki glared at Kamala who was about to reply with a teasing smile on her lips. “I don’t have more money to blackmail the brat over here.”
“I’m not a braaat!”
The discussion went on between Loki and Balder, America stood right beside Kate making sure Yelena dragged Kamala down the hall with the arguing from the brothers filling up the emptiness in the building. Kate turned to America, her smile growing big when she noticed the other woman looking at her with some nervousness noticeable in her posture.
“What is it?”
“Oh, no, I just…” America hesitated for a moment, she had the whole speech prepare until her eyes fell on a small lump on the ground. “What’s that?”
Kate sighed rolling her eyes, she turned to see America standing up with what look like a blue blanket with cars and football balls on it.
“I think that’s a blanket,” Kate said chuckling while looking around the place then back at America. “Do you think this belongs to one of the kids from Professor Maximoff?”
America shrugged turning around before grabbing Kate’s hand, “come, let’s see if she is still in the parking lot.”
Kate flushed nodding, her hand closing tightly around America’s one.
Wanda massaged the bridge of her nose, Tommy was complaining and she just noticed his favourite blanket was not with them. She was trying to think of a solution, she couldn’t go back to the building without putting the children out of the baby seats the rain was starting to fall harder and faster, and she was already soaking wet from the effort of putting them protectively in the car.
Thunder broke into the sky, Billy opened his eyes with tears forming in his eyes. Wanda was about to say something when her name being called made her look back. She could see America and Kate coming over, one of them holding a familiar sight.
“Oh, God, you found it!” The relief was quite evident in her face, America stood there breathing hard passing over the blanket with a smile.
“I think this is yours.”
“You don’t know how much I love you right now.” Wanda exclaimed going back in to hand the item over to Tommy.
America blushed lightly smiling sheepishly at her new teacher, Wanda was a mess at the moment but she smiled tiredly at both teens.
“Thank you, really, Tommy…he can’t sleep without that.” Wanda then opened her eyes wide looking around then pointing at her car. “Do you guys need a ride? You can’t go around with this weather…”
“Oh, no, no, don’t worry, Professor, we just thought we bring you this and then…we…go back…”
“Are you sure? I wouldn’t mind, and it’s the least I can do…” Wanda started but Kate shook her head smiling politely at her.
“Don’t worry, Professor, really, my car is down the other parking lot.”
America furrowed her brows, then she too nodded at Wanda who smile at them.
“Okay, then, go. This rain could be bad for you guys.”
Before Kate and America could walk away, Wanda straightened up loosing her nervousness and her inadequacy with the situation itself.
“Kate! America!” the teens stopped turning around with questioning glances on their faces. “By any chance, do you know anyone interested in a babysitter job?”
America blinked a couple of times at the question, she could see the question in Wanda’s eyes as well as the small hint of desperation in her green eyes. Without thinking too much, America nodded with her lips curled into a smile.
“I am.”
Kate opened her eyes for a moment before frowning slightly, Wanda’s expression lit up and relief was quite evident in her eyes.
“You do, really?”
“Yeah, sure, when do you need me to help?” America said letting go of Kate’s hand for a moment before putting her phone out.
“Oh, well, if it is not too short notice, tomorrow at around 2pm?”
Kate crossed her arms looking everywhere but at America or their new teacher, she tried to scare her thoughts away. She tried to convince herself this was America being America and always ready to help everyone; but she couldn’t help but remember the conversation they held in the nursery.
She is hot.
So what? Professor Maximoff was off limits, right? First, she was a teacher, and second you was an adult, probably the same age as America’s sister so…Anyway, why did it bother Kate so much? It wasn’t as if America and her…as if anything was happening…
“Hey, Kate, you okay?” Kate jumped shocked, America was standing in front of her with a creased of her brows.
“yeah, you…” Kate shook her head noticing they were alone in the parking lot, under the rain of mid-afternoon. “You ready?”
“Yeah, Professor Maximoff said she will text me later for the details.” America said smiling. “You know? I just thought, she needed help and…”
“Right, and America Chavez jumped right into the rescue. As always.” Kate huffed stepping back and giving her back to the young woman. “Never mind the woman is hot as hell, right?”
“What? What are you talking about?” America was confused, Kate shot her a glare before shaking her head.
“Never mind, come Loki and the others must be waiting for us.”
Kate walked away without looking back at America, and America felt something was amiss with the sudden change of attitude from Kate but, for her life, that she couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
On her car, driving down the streets through the rain and the babbling from the twins Wanda smiled in relief. She had solved the problem for the babysitter, and her appointment with Hope Pym could take place without any issue.
Finally, it seemed as if the world was smiling at her, and her life was going back to what it should have been.
The incident of that morning completely forgotten.

7 Days Before Christmas
“You’ve really never heard of Rudolph?” Sam asked Yelena.
“She was a child assassin, Sam. Give her a break!” Bucky bumped Yelena’s hip as he reached over her for the bag of flour.
Yelena flicked a chocolate chip at Sam’s head. “Shush, I can’t hear.”
You turned the tv up and handed Sam a beer. You both watched Yelena kneading cookie dough with her eyes glued to the tv–adorable.
“Aw, why are these reindeer such dicks, though? This is happy Christmastime entertainment?”
“That’s what I said!” Bucky took the dough from her and rolled it out onto the counter.
“For former assassins, you’re both super sensitive,” you chuckled and emptied the container of cookie cutters onto the dining table.
“This coming from the girl who cried every time we watched this as kids,” Sam smirked at you as Yelena and Bucky laughed.
As you all baked and drank, eventually, you were all misty-eyed and ready to fight anyone with anything bad to say about Rudolph and his shiny nose. With your cookies rising in the oven and the movie coming to an end, you decided it was time to give Sam and Yelena their Christmas gifts.
“Guys, Bucky has a surprise for both of you.” You turned their attention toward Bucky, who sat two Wakandan boxes in the middle of the living room.
“You first, Sam.” Bucky pushed the first box toward where Sam sat at the dining table.
Sam’s head shot up. “Are you serious right now?!” He lifted the new Captain America suit and wings out of the box. “This is dope as hell!”
“There’s one more thing; look in the bottom!” You called from your seat in the one living room chair.
Sam picked up his new Redwing. “I knew it–I knew you loved him, Buck.”
“Don’t start,” Bucky groaned. “It–I don’t mind it. It’s been helpful every now and then.”
“Thanks, man.” Sam gave Bucky a side hug before packing everything away again.
“Well, I figured if you’re gonna be Captain America, you gotta look good. Plus, the vibranium will keep you safer.”
“So sweet–my turn!” Yelena declared from her spot on the floor where you were braiding her hair.
Bucky opened the second box and placed a vest in her hands. “Shuri and I thought you might want this.”
Yelena sat up straighter, her bottom lip sticking out slightly like it might start quivering. “I always wondered what happened to it.”
You wrapped your arm around Yelena’s shoulders. “It’s okay,” you whispered just to her.
Yelena nodded and looked up at Bucky. “I gave this to her the last time I saw her–thank you.”
Bucky gave her a short nod and handed her a cold beer. “To Natasha.”
“To Natasha,” Yelena said as she clinked her bottle against Bucky’s. “I did not expect to be crying so much at Christmas.”
You laughed and wiped your own tears. “It can be an emotional holiday.”
“Well, it’s better than spending it in the Red Room, brainwashed.”
“Yeah, I’ll drink to that.” Bucky downed the rest of his beer, making Yelena chuckle.
**
“What are you still doing up?” You whispered as you tiptoed into the bedroom. Sam was sitting up, a lamp on while he read.
“Couldn’t sleep,” he shrugged, “what’s up?”
You sat at the foot of the bed, careful to not disturb Yelena. “Nothing–it’s just been a while since we’ve talked. There’s so much–”
Sam sat his book down, opening his arms for you. You settled against his chest, letting his heartbeat calm you down.
“You don’t owe me an explanation for anything. Okay?”
That wasn’t true. Despite being your childhood best friend, Sam had not known anything about your secret life until very recently. You owed him a lot of explanations.
You tilted your head up. “But–”
“No buts. Nothing has changed, I love you, and I’m here for you.”
Your shoulders dropped as his words washed over you. Sam never said anything he didn’t mean. His kindness and love never wavered. “Thanks, Sam. I love you too.”
“How are you? Are you doing better with you know–Stephan?”
You shifted, tucking your chin as if to hide even more. “I’m fine.”
“Very convincing. How are things going with Bucky?”
“He’s great.” You laid back down. “We have fun, and I’m really trying to make this Christmas special for him. He’s been through so much, and I just want to give him everything he deserves, ya know?”
Sam squeezed your shoulder. “He’s lucky to have you. Just be sure you’re taking care of yourself too.”
“That’s the thing, Sam; I don’t care about myself anymore. I would do anything to see him smile, to make sure that nothing ever hurts him again.”
“Damn. Remember when you told me you didn’t think you would know when you were in love?”
You chuckled quietly, “it’s crazy, I know.”
“But it’s good. I’m so proud of you.”
“Proud?”
“For putting yourself out there, for taking a risk. I know this terrifies you.”
You hummed, snuggling deeper into his chest. “I really love him, Sam. So much that it’s overwhelming.”
“Then can I ask you something?”
“What?”
“Why are you here cuddling with me for comfort when he’s laying out there alone?”
Your silence told Sam everything he needed to know. Something was wrong.
“Are you gonna tell me what’s going on? I mean, the Tracksuit Mafia? That’s serious.”
“Сука,” you hissed in Yelena’s direction. “I can’t believe she told you.”
“We have a bond now–come on, spill.”
“It’s the Power Broker; that’s all I know. Yelena has some contacts; she’s gonna look into it for me. I swear to God if either of you says anything to Bucky and ruin his Christmas–”
“Calm down, we’re not gonna say anything. But I can’t just sit back and let you get yourself killed.”
“Please,” you snorted. “It’s gonna take a hell of a lot more than some idiots in tracksuits to kill me.”
“Yeah, well, I’m gonna keep an eye on things just in case.”
“Okay, big bird,” you yawned. “I’m going back to bed.”
“Stubborn, I don’t know how Bucky puts up with you.”
“I make it worth his while,” you teased.
“Gross, go to sleep.” Sam pushed you off the bed as you laughed.
“Both of you go to sleep,” Yelena groaned.
“Goodnight, Sam,” you kissed his forehead. “Goodnight, snitch,” you said to Yelena with a sharp flick to her ear.
You softly closed the door, quietly making your way to the air mattress in the living room. Bucky was snoring softly, his body taking up most of the bed. you gently lifted his arm and slid underneath him. Even in his sleep, his body reacted to yours–his strong arm pulling you close. You were reminded of the first time you had slept together in your bed in Berlin. You had waited for him to make a move, but he just looked so tired. He had slept so peacefully, his body clinging to you like you were the only source of warmth in his life.
Suddenly even forever, if you were that lucky, didn’t seem like enough time with him. You wished you could take back every moment that you had pushed him away, every moment that you had let him believe you felt nothing for him. What a waste.
You turned to wake him up, not wanting to waste any time asleep. “Bucky,” you whispered, shaking his shoulder.
“Hmm? What?” He mumbled, his eyes still closed. “Doll?”
You smiled as you watched his pretty lips move. “Nothing,” you shushed him, running your fingers over his bearded chin. “I just wanted to hear your voice.”
6 Days Before Christmas
"Samuel!"
Your shocked but scolding tone made Sam and Bucky jump and whip their heads in your direction—their eyes wide, knowing they had been caught.
"What the fuck are you doing?" You stepped further into the bathroom and ripped a pair of scissors out of Sam's hand.
"I was just gonna–"
"What? Ruin Bucky's hair?!" You ran your fingers through Bucky's locks, ensuring Sam hadn't done any damage.
Bucky tilted his head back to look at you. "I didn't think you would mind."
You rolled your eyes and kissed his forehead. "I don't care if you cut it, Buck. I care that you were about to let Sam cut it with goddamned kitchen scissors ."
"Gross," Yelena chimed in from the door, a bag of goldfish in her hands.
"Yeah, gross." You pushed her and Sam out of the bathroom. "I’ll take care of this. Can you please not get crumbs all over my floor?”
“It would have been fine,” Sam grumbled but followed Yelena back to the living room.
You dug through your stuff until you found a pair of haircutting shears. “Here we go, now put a towel around your shoulders.
Bucky did what you asked, holding it in place with one of your hair clips. You stood behind him, running your hands through his hair and smiling at him in the mirror. “What can I do for you today, Mr. Barnes?”
Bucky hummed as your nails scratched his scalp. “Are you trying to make me change my mind? Because it’s working.”
“No,” you laughed and started spritzing his hair with water. “How short do you want it?”
“Honestly, I don’t know–whatever you think will look good.”
“Good answer.” You combed through his hair, preparing a piece to cut.
“Have you done this before?”
You snorted and snipped the hair. “You were gonna let Sam do this, and you’re questioning my abilities?”
“I wanted it to be a surprise,” Bucky mumbled.
“I was very surprised,” you teased as you continued snipping away.
When Bucky didn’t lighten up, you shifted your tone. “What brought this on?”
Bucky shifted on his stool, making you swat his arm. “Stay still.”
“It’s nothing–just wanted a change.”
You studied his face—not buying his response for one second. “Since you asked, yes, I have done this before. A woman–Miss Dotty–let me hang out in her salon after school. So, I know when someone sitting in my chair has something they need to get off their chest.”
Bucky sighed, meeting your eyes in the mirror. “I don’t want you to think something’s wrong with me–it’s just when I was out with Sam today, there was a lot more attention than I’m used to. And on top of that–” Bucky trailed off.
“What is it, Buck?” You moved in front of him so you could work on the fringe around his face.
He refused to meet your eyes until you lifted his chin. “You can tell me anything, baby.”
“I’ve just felt like something is wrong with us–like you’re pulling away from me.” Bucky’s heart pounded in his chest, his palms sweating as he waited for your response.
This could be it, the end—why did I say anything?!
You paused your actions, dropping yourself into his lap and cradling his face. “There’s nowhere else I would rather be, Bucky. No one else I would rather be with. You have to know that. I fucking adore you.”
Bucky looked deep into your eyes, searching for any hint that you were lying to make him feel better. Simply going Christmas shopping with Sam had triggered so many memories that had been dormant since he had been with you. All day, as they were swarmed by fans and press, he felt like he was sinking deeper and deeper into quicksand. The public’s opinions, his own self-hate and doubts dragged him down as he desperately tried to fight it. Sam had made a joke about cutting Bucky’s hair, and Bucky had taken him up on it, foolishly thinking getting rid of the all too familiar long hair would somehow make him feel better. As if cutting the locks off would somehow transform him into a different person with a different past.
“I’m sorry,” Bucky whispered.
“No,” you brushed your thumb over his cheek. “Don’t apologize. I’m sorry you had a rough day, baby.”
“It’s better now,” Bucky pulled your hips closer, needing to feel you pressed against him. “So much better now.”
You let him hold you, gently rubbing his back and cursing yourself for making him feel this way. From now on, things were going to be better.
“Let me finish this, and then we can relax, okay?”
“Yeah, okay, thank you, doll.”
Bucky let you go, but you stayed in his lap as you finished his haircut, snipping and shaping and eventually drying and ruffling until his once shoulder-length locks were cut neatly into a fashionable mop of fluff.
“What do you think?” You handed Bucky a mirror and let him appraise your work.
He turned his head from side to side and ran his fingers through his hair. A small smile ghosted across his face. “I think Miss Dotty taught you well.”
“She did,” you kissed his cheek before standing up to dust him off. You watched him continue to appraise himself in the mirror, your core heating up quickly. How could a haircut be such a turn-on? You knew you were a good stylist, but you had never used your skills on someone as pretty as Bucky.
“You look damn good, maybe a little too good.” You squeezed yourself between Bucky and the counter.
“Is that so?” Bucky teased as he lifted you up.
“Are you still in the mood for cuddles or–”
“Hey, what do you guys want to–” Sam stepped back as Bucky slammed the bathroom door closed in his face. “—do for dinner,” he finished to himself. “Nevermind then! Come on, Yelena, the animals are at it again.”
“Bring me something back!” You yelled as Bucky pushed you up against the bathroom door.
No reply came, but you were too lost in Bucky to notice.
Don't forget to reblog! 😉

Fics With Titles That Start With H Masterlist 2
part one
haha, jk (ao3) - relenafanel steve/bucky T, 13k
Summary: (A tale of Not Unrequited Love)
Steve: I love you. Bucky: oh no. (and other fallacies)
Bucky learns to never say never when it comes to the effect his best friend can have.
Half a Minute and Thirty Seconds (ao3) - mrasaki clint/phil T, 18k
Summary: He's not hiding, he's on vacation. (and adopted by a dog.)
Hands of Clay (ao3) - Mhalachai steve/bucky M, 425k
Summary: James Barnes leads a busy life as a single working father in New York. But when his childhood best friend Steve Rogers falls back into his life, James will have to re-learn what love, friendship and family are really all about.
Happier (ao3) - capsiclewidow steve/natasha T, 21k
Summary: She’d done worse things, she reasoned. She’d murdered innocent people, ruthlessly and carelessly. All for the glory of the Red Room and Mother Russia and Hydra. This would hardly be the worst thing she’d ever done.
She was Natalia Romanova. The Red Death. The Slavic Shadow. The deadly Black Widow. She’d done terrible, unforgivable things. She was a monster and a ruthless killer. It’s what she did, who she was and who she’d always be.
So yes, she could do this. She could hurt arguably the most kind, noble, good person who ever lived.
She could break Steve Rogers’ heart.
Hate doesn't even describe it (ao3) - elcapitan_rogers steve/natasha E, 153k
Summary: Steve hated Natasha. Natasha hated Steve. Everything was fine until their parents decided to fuck shit up for them...
Heat of the Night (ao3) - Kellyscams steve/bucky, clint/natasha/sam, bucky/alexander M, 186k
Summary: Based on this prompt: Steve is a cop. Bucky is the kept boyfriend of the super rich bad guy. Bucky doesn’t really have any information because his sole job is to look good when they go out. But he gets Steve’s card and he calls him and Steve meets him for lunch and coffee and dinner and Steve knows this could be a bad thing. He knows Bucky could be a trap. But the way he talks, how he smiles at Steve, laughs like it’s a sound he’s not used to making...Steve thinks he could be worth it. Steve thinks he could be worth everything.
Heat Stroke (ao3) - cleo4u2, xantissa steve/bucky E, 243k
Summary: Captain America and the Winter Soldier meet for the first time in 2015. Now Bucky, after years of torture at Hydra's and more as a prisoner of S.H.I.E.L.D., is being given the chance to gain his freedom. All he has to do, is complete a mission with a team he can't stand while following the orders of yet another pompous, controlling Alpha. Steve thinks he can get his team through their most difficult mission to date, so long as he can get the smell of the Winter Soldier's heat out of his nose.
Here, There and Everywhere (ao3) - SailorChibi peter/tony, happy/pepper T, 4k
Summary: When Steve, Natasha and Scott showed up at the cabin to talk to Tony, he wasn't exactly there.
Heroes are Easy, People are Hard (ao3) - Halbereth, Lorien steve/bucky, pepper/tony T, 152k
Summary: Shuri and Wanda cleared Bucky's triggers shortly after Killmonger's attempted coup, and he and Steve went on the run. But it turns out there's more to "fixing Bucky's head" than "getting Hydra out of it." When a group of rogue scientists manage to neutralize the serum and make Steve very sick--pre-serum "this is bad" kind of sick--and they're cut off from contact with Wakanda, Bucky knows only one person with resources to help.
He calls Tony and surrenders on the condition that Tony tries to help Steve.
From there, it's basically three variously messed-up guys’ trajectories from "This Is Fine", "Reasonably Speaking I Know It’s Fine", "I Will Be Fine With It" to actually being fine, guest-starring a far-better-adjusted teenage boy who climbs walls, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird, two women with a keen sense of the absurd, and Bruce, the Zen master of “it’s fine that it’s not fine.”
Add in the fact that Bucky's been secretly in love with Steve since the thirties and things only get harder. Learning to be a person is the hardest thing Bucky Barnes will ever have to do--but he's got company along the way.
History's Gayer Than You Think (Or So MJ Says) (ao3) - lattely (orphan_account) steve/bucky T, 4k
Summary: Peter Parker has never witnessed a proposal. Until one day, he finds himself inches away from history building itself with the help of a ring box, when all he was up for was watching a movie.
Hit The Bottom (ao3) - The_Lady_smaell bruce/tony T, 11k
Summary: Tony is used to being able to get out of situations because he is 'Tony Stark: Billionaire,Genius, Playboy, Philanthropist.' But happens when all that is stripped from him and he truly 'Hit's the bottom? Will anyone be able to see beneath the mask before it's too late or will Tony succumb? And what the hell has Bruce been hiding from him? See inside for warnings. Eventual SciBF's
Holiday Spending (ao3) - isfan bucky/tony T, 70k
Summary: Winteriron collage au w/fake relationship; Tony asks Bucky to be his fake boyfriend, either to shake off some matchmaking friends or to piss off Howard. Turns out Bucky is all Tony ever wanted in a boyfriend. Too bad it’s not real (extra angst if Tony paid for Bucky to act as his boyfriend, now Tony wonders if it was all for the money). Happy ending?
Home (a place where you belong) (ao3) - casualwonderlust scott/hope T, 10k
Summary: After the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp, starts off right at that cute scene between the Langs and Hope. Before that horrible mid-credits scene.
Hope and Scott rebuild. They become partners; they become family. This is their story.
Home for the Holidays (ao3) - ellewrites, valiantbandit (blueringlady) bruce/tony G, 3k
Summary: There was one man who once claimed to love Bruce – monster and all. And he was currently standing on stage in the middle of Rockefeller Square, running a toy drive to impart some goodwill in the face of the wreckage the other guy had left in his wake. But no one deserved to be constantly responsible for cleaning up his messes – least of all Tony.
Honey Honey Rock the Boat (ao3) - HisaHiru steve/bucky T, 5k
Summary: A date at the amusement park, Steve and Bucky being lovey dovey... What could go wrong? Nothing. Except Tony (and friends) decided it was time for them to step in and play detective. Sam wanted to go home already.
honey, you're familiar (like my mirror years ago) (ao3) - yusufsmoon steve/bucky T, 9k
Summary: Or: Bucky comes back to Steve and somehow remembers everything but their relationship. Suspicious.
How can a loser ever win (ao3) - sirona steve/bucky M, 12k
Summary: The Soldier should not be standing here, in the middle of a crowded room with obstructed exits, risking discovery with every second he remains rooted to the spot -- but.
But. He'd had to know.
How Much Do You Need (ao3) - thebookishdark clint/scott E, 2k
Summary: “Hey. Check out what I made,” Scott rolls up his sleeve and there’s a small bracelet that looks extremely similar to the belt on his Ant-man uniform. “It’s made of the same material as the suit so it won’t break if I grow in it, but it works more like the particle gun. Cool, right?”
“That was fast.”
Scott shrugs. “I had an excellent motivator.”
Clint asks Scott a hypothetical question that’s not so hypothetical. It might be a sex thing. Okay, it’s a sex thing.
how to care for your calimiris: a guide by America Chavez (ao3) - DarkKitty1208 tony/stephen G, 5k
Summary: When an interdimensional being manages to slip into the Sanctum, what would America do? Make it her pet, of course.
And if that happens to result in uncontrollable chaos… How bad could it be?
(Very, very bad, as it turns out.)
Hubris (ao3) - romanoff steve/tony M, 18k
Summary: Tony would call it bad luck but, lets be honest, it was probably a long time coming.
Or: Steve tries to find Tony and realises some things along the way.

// Flashback //
You watched her as she worked on her Ironheart suit and found yourself in a trance. She worked intensively with "Alone" by Burna Boy playing in her airpods as you prepared the weapons you were going to have on your person for battle.
// End of Flashback //
She silently cried into her shoulder and she rubbed your back with her other hand.
