The Renaissance wing of Beaufort Castle, Luxembourg

The building of the wing started after 1539, when Bernard von Velbrück became the Lord of Beaufort.

Together with the older castle, it is open to visitors and I really recommend one of the tours, also because of the delicious Cassero liquor they produce on the estate!

The church is located in the heart of Thessaloniki's historical district, just a short distance from the city's famous White Tower, and is situated on a hill overlooking the city, providing visitors with stunning views of Thessaloniki.

The Church of Saint Pavlos has a rich history that dates back centuries. Built in the 15th century, the church was created to honour Saint Paul, one of the most influential figures in the Christian faith. According to legend, Saint Paul visited Thessaloniki during his travels and preached in the agora (marketplace).

Two of the most exciting things about the church are its unique architecture, intricate mosaics, stunning frescoes, and elaborate domes. Secondly, it is that it is two churches in one. The lower church, which is located underground, is dedicated to Saint Paul and features stunning frescoes and mosaics. The upper church, situated above ground, is dedicated to Saint George and features intricate carvings and sculptures.

Over the centuries, the Church of Saint Pavlos has played a crucial role in Thessaloniki's history. During the Ottoman period, the church was converted into a mosque and underwent significant renovations. The church was transformed in the early 20th century, including adding a museum.
