QuinObi Week
Part 2/5 - First / Next
Day 2: Knighthood/Raising Padawans
Track: 'How Bad We Need Each Other' - Marc Scibilia
(Spotify / YouTube)
"I'll grab the bags."
"And I will grab the Padawans."
"But they're already-"
The sound of excited squealing from Aayla and Anakin echoed throughout the halls, Obi-Wan unable to stop his own laughter from joining in and Quinlan smiling broadly at seeing the joy return to his friends face.
Kind of just a fun moment for the group, one of their first missions all together, pretty early on in Anakin's journey to become a Jedi. I have a whole little fic thought up for this that I am so sad I didn't get the chance to write but it is the one I am most tempted to work on and publish later anyhow, because it is just an all around bit of fun for the little family XD
Enjoy!

Someone send u an ask that a part of shinigami forgiveness might be finding value in someone else's life, and if we consider undertaker = cedric theory true, undertaker did probably find some meaning in life and laughter from meeting claudia(and he probably went a bit too far ) ...
Undertaker finds meaning in life but isn't forgiven
I'd say that's true -- that he finds meaning in life from meeting and interacting with her (and that he goes too far).
It's just that he misses any opportunity to save her from death, and there probably isn't any such opportunity while he is still an active reaper. By the time she dies in 1866, he's already deserted his post as an active reaper, so he has no proper "pass" to give her. If he can't use a "shinigami pass" to save someone from death, I doubt the "meaning/value in life" he finds would count as a reason for forgiveness or salvation/redemption.
It seems to me that every mourning locket he possesses could represent a lost opportunity to save someone that holds a special meaning for him, starting with Molly/Mally G., back on December 10, 1837. Which is shortly after Victoria becomes queen (but before her coronation, the following year). Seems to me that if he could have saved them, he would have. Otherwise, why would he mourn those losses so much? He mourns those losses because they are truly lost.
So, if finding meaning in life -- specifically finding meaning in the life of another -- is what leads to forgiveness/redemption/salvation of a reaper... it has to be an official part of an active reaper's duties. Right?
If not, then Eric could be redeemed as soon as he wishes for Alan to be healed... Alan could be redeemed as soon as he feels regret for the souls he's collected. And I consider their basic story to be canon, ever since they were shown in ch105, apparently depicting the scene where Eric has just lost Alan (Alan having just been struck a fatal blow with Eric's death scythe). Alan might be forgiven when he steps in and gets killed by accident. Honestly, if Eric had just let Alan succumb to the Thorns of Death, that might have been another path to forgiveness... for Alan, at least, though not for Eric.
In that case... Undertaker could be redeemed as soon as he no longer wants to collect souls....
But Eric instead stoops to collecting souls that aren't even listed for collection, then he's begging for Sebastian to end his reaper life. Eric has lost probably the one person he cares about, and he knows he will be severely punished if he's retrieved by the reaper organization. Alan suffers the Thorns of Death until his untimely, unplanned death at Eric's hands. Alan's and Eric's ultimate fates, after their second deaths, are as yet unknown.
Undertaker has to fight for any right to no longer collect souls, and he apparently ends up failing... then "sneaking out with his death scythe".
So, this -- forgiveness simply when you find meaning in life -- is clearly not the case.
If finding meaning in the lives of others -- if finding a reason to keep another person alive -- is how (or at least one way) a reaper earns forgiveness, it would have to be through using a so-called "shinigami pass". Because the reaper organization is a bureaucratic institution... requiring anything official to be done through "proper" (not always so proper, as Ronald has suggested, but definitely) documented procedures. The only other "proper" methods I've been able to consider are: 1. (Slowly) dying from the Thorns of Death and 2. What Sascha says about collecting souls (for a really long time) until you are forgiven. Both of these other methods can easily be documented, and both take time. Heck, even the method Sascha's talking about might invariably eventually end with contracting and dying from the Thorns of Death.... 🤨
There must be other ways, since not every reaper is tasked to collect souls, but those methods probably take even longer. I mean, if we consider Lawrence "Pops" Anderson to be a canon character (and I do, at this point), then there's a reason he's been there, making spectacles 👓, long enough to (look decidedly older and) be called "Pops"!
The "shinigami pass" -- this official method of saving someone from death -- is probably the only acceptable way in which a reaper can interfere with the lives of humans. So, if (when 😏) it becomes canon that Undertaker is Cedric, then he definitely takes his interests in Claudia/Cloudia too far. Either way, he's taking his interests in the Phantomhives way too far, according to reaper rules.
Hell, even before then. The first time he ever manipulated cinematic records, he must have broken a rule... even if it was an unwritten or unspoken one. We don't know all their rules....
Then again, I must say this: Undertaker asks our earl what does it matter if real Ciel is alive or dead.
So, I have to ask this: What has Undertaker truly learned? 🤔

My Tumblr has decided not to give me notifications for some reason. It’s been days without notifications even though there is still new stuff cropping up unannounced in the notification tab.
So, just in case anyone feels ghosted, I’m not ignoring you, it’s a glitch! Probably some misfire between my Imparter and the human tech.
Buuuut… you all better try real hard not to have any medical emergencies while contact seems to be a little on the haphazard side!

Tumblr seems to have forgotten why we're here:
No, I don't wanna hide the post on a fan fic because it has 'sexual themes.' That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for in fan fic!

Atlus: We’re doing a survey again!
Me: Oh I’ve been waiting for this. >:3c
Atlus: How did you like the P4G/P3P remake?
Me: Hmmmmm, pretty good, P3P had some issues, but for that price it’s not horrible.
Atlus: Oh cool, what about P5/R/S-
Me:
Atlus: Oh....hmmm....I see. Well then, thoughts on P5T?
Me: I’m liking the art style, looks promising, guess we’ll wait and see.
Atlus: Huh? Oh, ok. And P5X?
Me: I’m not really a fan of gatcha games, but I do like the vibe of this so far! I hope you implement more chars, even if they are cognitions.
Atlus: ???? O-oh I see....I thought you didn’t like P5-oh...well, nvm. P3! You like P3. What are your thoughts on P3RE? :D
Me:

Hmmm... something may have gone slightly awry with that first post, so if it showed up twice we'll just have to put it down to teething trouble... 😅
At least all the GIF-sets will be linked in my pinned post...
