Medieval Save 2.0 (with CC)

Welcome to my Medieval save for The Sims 4.

I've dedicated a considerable amount of time and effort into crafting it, and the work will continue with more worlds to come. As an enthusiast of this kind of Sims 4 world, I've created something that I myself would eagerly enjoy playing. I wish you a wonderful gaming experience with this save. Don't forget to familiarize yourself with the instructions.

Main Information:

1. Remade cities: Willow Creek, Newcrest, Magnolia Promenade, Windenburg, Brindleton Bay, Moonwood Mill, Sulani. More worlds will be added in the future.

(for convenience, you can download this file and place it in the Mods folder. It will highlight the remade cities).

2. The following hidden lots have been remade: Police Station, Laboratory, Hospital, School + Classroom, Magical Realm, Movie Studio.

3. How to install the save:

Place the .save file at the following path: C:\Users\username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

Lifespan is set to high.

4. This is not a mod! It's a save file. Look for it in the game through "Load Game." Changes will only affect this save.

Any eating utensil preferences? Depends on what I'm eating, but I have strong opinions about big fork versus small fork based on what I'm eating.

A genre of music you love? Very much mood dependent. Lately, when I'm at home, I've been listening to lo-fi and Star Wars soundtracks (shocker, I know); Kneecap and Irish rebel songs while walking to and from my bus stop for work. Also a big fan of metal, punk, EDM, hip hop for when I need heavy doses of dopamine for something.

A type of seasoning/condiment that would make anything edible for you? Very cuisine-dependent, but I love zhoug.

Pens or pencils? What kind? Sometimes the sensory input of pencil on paper is super satisfying, but I usually use pens. Zebra F-701 metal ballpoint pens are up there as a favorite, even though I hate most other ballpoint pens. The weight of the pen and the smooth glide are A++, especially since I write in cursive and need something that moves smoothly.

What's your weirdest/most interesting hobby? I have ADHD-C, so I have a ton of hobbies that cycle through. I used to box before my most recent serious spine injury. Doing realistic and sci fi builds in Sims 4 is a recent fav. I also have a lot of late iron age/early medieval reproduction stuff from Scandinavia/Baltic/Irish cultures.

Favorite real person that you don't personally know? Motaz Azaiza, Bisan Owda, every medical provider who has risked their life to provide care for Palestinians trapped in the Gaza death camps. May Allah be pleased with them and grant them mercy.

How many alarms do you have set? Seven on weekdays, five on weekends

Do you have any pets? Do you want some? I have a very bossy elderly kitty. He's my child.

Favorite drink, alcoholic or non? I don't drink alcohol. Big fan of zero sugar Canada Dry. I also love karak chai.

Favorite shoes? The Prada combat boots I've worn every day that they're a reasonable option for four years now. I also recently got a pair of Adidas Sambas in cream with olive green stripes and laces (my fav color)

Favorite smell? I'm a perfume collector - like I've lost track of how many I own - and I lean toward smooth, spicy ouds or dark florals

How do you feel about bugs and spiders? Nopenopenope. My partner is the designated bug removal person.

Outdoors or indoors? Indoors most of the time but I do love being in nature

Sunny or rainy? I have arthritis that can get really bad when it's rainy. Seriously, my spine can predict the weather. I grew up in a place that gets huge thunderstorms that can go on for hours, which I miss.

Where would you really like to visit? Would you move there? Mecca and no. I am trying to move to another country, though.

Are you a people person? lol

At what temperature do you keep your home (or would if you could?) Roughly 20C, prefer colder at night so I can be a proper blanket burrito. Can't stand air on my skin sometimes.

4. A character you rarely talk about?

shoutout to: Firi of the Red Scarves, a would-be dnd roguelock turned dnd npc turned. Tav maybe. when I get BG3

his thing is that he's a high elf born with a disability that makes casting magic painful, and his parents, who were dead set on having a wizard son, tried to Fix Him by any means possible, and when he realized they were going to do Unethical Science on him he ran away from home. on his way out he grabbed an expensive-looking necklace off his father's desk, planning to sell it, but that necklace turned out to contain an imprisoned friend that was supposed to serve the wearer of the necklace for a hundred years. Firi went "sweet", put the necklace on, became a warlock and used his newfound powers (which, being borrowed magic and not his own, aren't painful for him to use) to get out of the country and start a new life Elsewhere under a new name. the problem is, the fiend also swore to kill the wearer of the necklace as soon as the hundred years are up, buuuuuuuut maybe Firi can endear himself to it enough that it won't do that! we'll see! <- he is: coping in the best way he can

12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot

@curiouslavellan's Aurelia and Helaine are both on the brain quite a lot. and yes it's because they're in AU worldstates with my own characters but also just. I Care Them. they both have this. I don't know. sincerity?? and determination?? to them?? even as the world throws progressively horrible stuff at them?? like you just want to see them succeed and also get a warm meal and a good night's sleep (and some therapy/Reflection Time) because really it's not their fault the world is going crazy around them and they're trying their best

(also I've put Aurelia in my Sims Medieval as the physician and it's been really funny)

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

WELL. Pyrrha Thorne (who I'm still rotating) started out as a Dalish character, and then I came up with a different backstory that I also like and. might fit Veilguard's entire deal better, tbh. but we'll see if I go back on it because her having a Dalish background does also have its own crunch (but also I'm really attached to her very non-Dalish name, SO. and we have one Dalish Grey Warden on the team already)

29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?

....see many of them would go investigate, but not telling anyone... I'm going to say Adina (she does what she wants), Kyana (none of your concern.), Secret (it's going to be FINE, guys), Pyrrha (why?? would anyone need to know she's going there?? she's just checking it out real quick) and Inquisition-era Neilar (honestly he probably SHOULD have said something but. he just didn't feel like it)

44. Something you like about your OCs in general

Every time I make a character I try to center them around a Concept or Idea that's appealing to me personally, and as a result of this they all have struggles/conflicts that are REALLY fun for me to observe and to play with. Each of them has at least one ThingTM that I'll get emotional about if I think about it for too long, and that's what keeps me invested.

To start things off, I thought I'd share all the wips/ideas I have in bad summaries (yay!)

These are the wips that are partially published: a. At Thy Will - D/s AU, inspired by medieval marriage laws in the area that would later become Germany. I've talked a bit about it here before, it includes abusive relationships and fantasy sexism and also religious trauma b. The Tower Must Fall - unfortunately a bit neglected (but I plan on picking it back up, I promise), including assassin!Martin and witch!Jon slowburn enemies to lovers (Gerry is there, too!) c. A Treatise In Balance - basically just Jon getting snatched and turned into an avatar by each of the Fears. Includes art d. The Crackling Sound Of Magic - these are small fics where Jon is a mage in training under his cruel father Elias Bouchard and Martin is a kitchen hand in their household. also technically slowburn and lots of hurt/comfort because Jon keeps getting hurt

wips in my wip folder a. faerie!Jon - he's a faerie, Martin is human, he gets lost in the Otherworld's fog, Jon saves him. Oh, and soulmate AU, too :) b. Nothing But The City - inspired by UDAD, where Jonah (while wearing Elias like a suit) performs a series of cyborg-like surgeries on Jon to use him to take control over the City that once had a name that is now long lost to time c. another fantasy au with magic, inspired by occudo's art (that I still want to eat. so pretty). including apprentice!Jon, reluctant bodyguard!Martin, and exasperated and probably evil (but hot) long haired Elias d. Archive AU - Jon is a fully developed Eye monster, way beyond human. Nobody but Elias knows. Martin joins the Archive crew, accidentally makes friends with the monster via tea, and falls in love e. teacher!Jon in Scotland - you've read it before, you love it as much as I do: Scotland Safehouse Period forever, nothing bad happens and Jon gets adopted by a bunch of nosy teenagers f. nurse!Martin AU - Martin is a nurse who deals with Jon's worm wounds (gets section 31-ed) and keeps meeting him while Jon is injured. Features the good ol' anonymous online kinky relationship (and so much research because i don't even know how German hospitals work let alone British ones) g. Magnus Academy - more teacher!Jon, but in dark, with magic, murder, abuse, blackmail, discrimination, etc. h. The Fourteen Hauntings of Jonathan Sims, Librarian - more AUs! this time it's medium!Jon time (and medium!Martin). There's ghosts, and the town is called Nevermore :) i. Vampire Stuff - loosely based on The Fearless Vampire Killers (but the German musical, not necessarily the film), featuring vampire!Jon, vampire!Elias, human Martin, Tim, Sasha (yes, Jon is Herbert) j. Martin Knife Blackwood - established jonmartin, Jon wants to propose, Martin used to be in organised crime and the mob boss Peter Lukas comes for him, drama, blood, guns, etc. k. magical bookshop - more magic. including season 4 levels of sad Jon, a traumatised mute teenage kid who is accidentally adopted by said sad Jon. Jon has a bookshop that shows up at random. like the tardis but with less control even than the Doctor has l. toxic JonElias with endgame JonMartin - this one's not fleshed out at all, but basically Jon gets to make friends and escape Elias' clutches (no Fears AU)

I have more plot bunnies, but they're just that, so I won't list them here or I'd be here for hours. Feel free to ask questions about the wips above if you like, I'd be more than happy to elaborate (it will contain spoilers tho)

Hi! I just found your empty save file and I’m intrigued. I was wondering if I had a save already and added this empty save file, will it also empty out my other save? Thank you!

No, the empty save file just creates a world with no houses or sims, it does not affect other saves. They stay the same. Use this if you want to start all fresh, for a new challenge maybe? If you mean the Blowtorch mod, its a another thing. Blowtorch changes the game files in C:/Windows (or same in Mac) and stops all the decorations from loading in the worlds (you can pick what worlds that should be included, one, some or all). This affects all saves. The houses, sims and decorations you placed yourself in the world outside lots will still be there, but the Maxis deco houses ect will be gone. You can easily get all back though, if you repair the game or use the backupfiles provided with the mod. Then you have everything back. Read the instructions carefully!

So.......

I have been working on a project where I’m updating strings (only) to have my game “sound” more old-timey and brainstorming some medieval traits for my simmies.  For instance:

I replaced the “take bath” interaction with “draw a bath”. It literally does nothing except change the verbiage, but it makes me happy. If this is something you’d be interested let me know and I’ll share. I’m trying to make changes a little at a time and am not doing everything, obviously. One thing I’d like to change is “woohoo” but i’m trying to figure out what sounds feasible, medieval-ish and not crass lol :)

I have updated a few common strings so far: 1) replaced Feed Bottle interaction with Feed through Cowhorn/Chamois ( if you don’t know what the heck a chamois is like me, here’s where I got it from https://www.contemporarypediatrics.com/view/concise-history-infant-formula-twists-and-turns-included) 2) Brush teeth is Brush teeth with mint and twig.

Bath important parts quickly replaces Take a Quick and Tepid Bath LOL 

I am clearly not a modder, but I really enjoy immersive gameplay.  For example, wet nurses were a thing and the whole birth experience for upper-middle class women was very ritualistic so I’m working on a royal midwife trait (snips below) that will essentially nag and helicopter the preggo sim and can accompany the sim during home birth. SuperDuperPooper Important: I’m not trying to overhaul the childbirth mod because it’s already amazing! Go do yourself a favor and download ALL of Ingeli’s wonderful cc; I’m playing with the Royalty Mod by LlazyNieph and admittedly haven’t really experienced all of the wonderful perks the mod offers. I am so looking forward to continuing to play with it and highly recommend!

Again, not a modder, don’t have a patreon, don’t know what the heck I’m doing really but thought I’d share in case there’s already something like this on the granular level and/or there are others you all know of! I’m just HAVING FUN, y’all !!!! :)

after scrolling through your posts i felt complelled to send an ask (i wonder why)

This kinda? relates to all the languages posts you've been making (was giggling and kicking my feet while reading them, and got inspired) but because I only speak English, I wanted to put a twist on it.

Creator who has audio processing issues and doesn't realise that Teyvat DOES actually speak the same language as them for a good while.

Because as a person with very good hearing, i sure don't fucking understand what people are saying most of the time, especially in big crowds. (its like listening to the sims sometimes man, i'm fighting for my life trying to understand😭)

So imagine a Creator getting dropped into Teyvat and getting found by a group of hunters or treasure horders, who instantly start panicking and talking all at once because 'omg our god is here' and all that.

And the Creator is still confused and diorientated, so all they're hearing is ✨words✨and they just assume that no one in Teyvat will understand them.

And then when they arrive in one of the nations and get to meet the vision bearers for the first time, the Creator makes a thirsty comment about one of them (probably would be Diluc in my case) and the entire crowd just goes SILENT.

So silent that the Creator can perfectlly understand what that vision bearer said in response.

So ofc Mondstadt brings you into the city and their planning a big ol festival, u came right in time for Windblume anyway, and by the time your done shaking hands and just waving and smiling (bc what else can u do u cant hear these fuckers, maybe u caught a "the" or a "hello" but you could've definitely been imagining it)

And finally you are free of the general crowd, but most of the Vision bearers (Allogenes) who were ur vessels wanna stick around, so u all end up in Angel's Share somehow

It's hella packed, and it's a bar.

So yeah u still can't hear shit, and now it just sounds like one of those fantasy medieval bar audios ambience videos

Ur just kinda kicking ur feetsies on a bar stool while like,, 4 or 5 differrent special character dishes are sitting in front of you

Diluc's behind the bar, and has been so sweetly attentive to you all evening, no matter how many tipsy patrons come up yelling for refills or drinks (or at least thats what u assume, bc u kinda end up just,, jumping and hitching ur shoulders up and trying to be lowkey about covering ur ears...)

He always comes and refills ur glass when it gets to even half-full, swiping away plates that have gone cold, and if you still want smth off of it, he's so perceptive no language needed bc he just sees your face and starts heating up the plate again with his vision with his hand :)

He's actually been the best thruout all this bc he already isn't super talkative, so ur pretty sure you've only seen his mouth open a few times, but otherwise u just communicated with him via actions/expressions

So ur chilling, well sorta, ur starting to kinda get overstimulated by the day and now this loud ass bar, and the fact that ur convinced no one speaks English here...

But hey!

Diluc's cool, u got food, and maybe u can charade to him u wanna find somewhere to retire to now for the night,,

You try and do that but he's pretty busy running around still,

"Damn, at least I get to see his ass though."

The Brothers and Side Characters Play the Sims

I don’t know what possessed me to make this but WHATEVER. I’ve been playing the Sims since I was a wee little girl, and I’ve seen my fair share of weird Sims stuff that I feel would fit these bozos perfectly.

My Sims have a Functional Family Life Because I Don’t (Lucifer)

God dammit Levi’s obsessed with another game... ugh.

Spends 5 minutes in Create-a-Sim and hops into a starter home.

Lucifer’s the type to start with all the average stuff and then build their stuff up as his sim gets promotions.

It’s just... so peaceful...

...he’s adopting a dog.

Look at his new little virtual family... his sim-kids are self sufficient and getting A’s in school, his Sim spouse MC or Diavolo take your pick loves his Sim-self, his sim-dog-

WAIT NO- THE DOG’S AN ELDER?!

AAAAAAAAAAAAA-

...

He’s fine. It was just a virtual dog. *sniffle*

He’s now spending his free time drinking Demonus and playing the Sims.

What’s a mod? Levi why does your sim have gun?

Behold, My Gorgeous Home... It’s a Box (Mammon)

Mammon, like the rest of the HOL, is mooching off of Levi’s Origin account.

“AW SHIT! This house looks awesome! I’m gonna build it for Sim-me to live in!”

Mammon proceeds to build a box with rooms. Yay...

He just picks the funnest sounding job if he picks any job at all for his Sim. That’s how he ended up making 9 dollars an hour in the criminal career.

Didn’t stop Mammon from buying that solid gold bathroom set from Get Famous... a box with solid gold bathrooms.

His Sim is broke send help-

“Leviiiiiii my sim needs money... the people my sim kidnapped and is forcing to paint aren’t making enough money...” “Ugh... press control shift C and type ‘motherlode’.”

...Levi made a mistake.

“FUCK YEAH! MOTHERLODE!”

His sim’s life is so chaotic, he has a piranha pool that his sim has almost died in twice, the sim is carrying on several torrid love affairs, his sim got struck by lightning, his sim has nearly died in a grilled cheese making accident twice... in the same day.

At least once Sim-Mammon and Sim-MC get married things calm down a little.

Mammon finds out what custom content is and proceeds to download EVERYTHING HE CAN FIND.

And now he’s asking Levi why his computer is running so slow.

Expansion Pack King (Leviathan)

He got into it back when the Sims 2 was new, he’s a veteran fan.

“Bro remember when Agnes Crumplebottom would show up and whack the shit out of your sims if they were flirting?”

“Remember when that witch would show up randomly on the lot you were on if you had Makin’ Magic?”

“Remember when Bella Goth was abducted by aliens and we just... didn’t question it?”

He whines about the Sims4 and how crappy it is but still buys every expansion pack, game pack, and stuff pack.

This boy watches like 40 hours of built tutorials and ends up sobbing over his weird roofs.

“WHY DOESN’T IT LOOK AS NICE AS THE ONE I’M LOOKING AT?! THIS ISN’T FAIR!”

The mod folder is so full istg-

Levi gets custom content for the sole purpose of making his favourite fictional characters.

This is why Henry and the Lord of Shadows are married and Ruri-chan and Sim-Levi are roommates.

Oh my god they were roommates-

Levi also added his brothers to the world and uh... Sim-Mammon died in a tragic pool accident F.

Levi then proceeded to befriend the Grim Reaper.

He’s anxiously awaiting the release of Paralives.

Wait Gameplay? In This Build Simulator? (Satan)

Satan’s here to build and leave. Gameplay who?

Our favourite bundle of rage is a master architect and the amount of followers on the Gallery he has shows it.

He takes up those build shell challenges and always ends up making them look positively perfect.

Asmo’s always using his houses, and Satan often takes requests when he gets bored.

No Mammon, he reserves the right to refuse to build a golden castle for you- YOUR SIM HAS 40 SIMOLEONS-

No mods, no CC, he’s building with what EA gave him.

...and EA gave him debug objects, and he’s not going to explain how to get them.

The one time he did actually play with a family... it was one sim and seven cats.

He tries to play without cheats... and ends up getting frustrated and turns on cheats.

All hail the Pets Expansion Pack.

Custom Content Soap Opera (Asmodeus)

Asmo spends 5 hours in Create a Sim then just... clicks out of the game.

That’s how it goes most of the time, buuuuuut when he gets super invested in a family he’s made, boy howdy is he INVESTED.

Sim A is carrying on an affair with Sim C who’s in love with Sim B who’s married to Sim A but Sim D wants to kill Sim A and C even though they’re the illegitimate child of Sim C-

When Asmo realizes that in the Sims 4 he needs to manufacture all the drama himself and he can’t just sit back with a glass of wine and watch the fireworks, he switches to the Sims 2 and 3.

“...why is this old lady beating up my Sim..?”

He immediately recoils in horror upon seeing how ugly the Sims are pre Sims4.

HE NEEDS TO FIX THIS-

Ah, there we go, perfect. Custom Content to the rescue!

He ends up remaking the entire world just so he doesn’t have to look at weird looking Sims.

Asmo is the only one to have finished a proper Legacy Challenge, but it gets crazy chaotic after gen 3.

“My sim just got abducted by aliens and now he’s pregnant- WHAT?!”

He has about 40 saves and only two he actually plays.

Just a Big Ol’ Happy Family (Beelzebub)

Beel found the game, proceeded to make everyone in create-a-sim to the best of his abilities, and made everyone get along.

That’s why Sim-Lucifer and Sim-Belphie are on a swing set together, they’re friends :D

“Hey Luke do you think you can make this?” “I-is that a cake shaped like a hamburger?” “Yes. Please make.”

He took one look at the cooking options and decided to max out his Sim’s cooking skill to unlock all the options.

Beel proceeded to drool all over his keyboard. Gross...

Boy howdy did he have some crazy dinner suggestions!

Overall, very wholesome Sim-life, except for the time Sim-Levi died because the toilet caught fire, don’t worry, Sim-Beel knows how to make ambrosia.

All is good in the Sim save...

...until Sim-Beel ate pufferfish nigiri and fuckin died-

Wait Did I Not Pause- (Belphie)

Huh, this game looks fine... I’ll play for a little- *SNORE*

Belphie makes some sims, plops them into a starter home, plays for an hour, then falls asleep.

He wakes up five hours later to absolute carnage.

Three sims have died because someone decided to make Mac and Cheese and the oven caught fire, the kids were taken away by social services, and the dog ran away.

“...heheh, holy shit everyone look.”

He doesn’t play often, but when he does, death occurs. He has found out every death method for every game from Sims 2 to 4.

And that INCLUDES the Sims Medieval! You guys remember that game?

Sometimes it’s not intentional, but Belphie got bored with the totally normal life his sims were living and decided to spice it up.

“Why are the ghosts breaking my showers..?”

Help There’s a Bug- (Diavolo)

The Crown Prince started playing when he noticed Lucifer was playing it.

He was immediately obsessed.

Dia mostly plays the Sims Medieval because he likes the feeling of achievement after completing a quest!

“Barbatos... why isn’t my Sim completing their task? The icon won’t show up.” “My lord it appears the game is bugged.” “:(“

No one thought to tell Diavolo that EA doesn’t plan on offering bug support to a game made in like... 2009

This doesn’t matter! Look at how great his kingdom is doing- oh no his hero has the plague-

He plays through the Pirates and Nobles expansion and manages to get the peaceful ending, he’s so proud of himself.

“MC! Look! My Monarch’s sword is permanently on fire and I’m fighting an evil wizard!”

When he does play the other Sims games he’s pretty basic, though, he does a great job at furnishing!

Dia gets crazy sad when his Sims die... he turns off aging.

Builder no. 2 (Barbatos)

Barbie doesn’t have time for this... but when he does, he builds.

No create a sim.

No playing the game as intended.

Just builds.

It’s relaxing, okay? A nice little suburban house he’s never going to play in, maybe a treehouse, maybe a big Hollywood Mansion...

The only time he actually plays the game outside of build mode is when someone needs his help to fix something in-game.

He does download custom content build items if he feels bored by the current selection.

Oh Crap What Am I Doing?! (Simeon)

Help him. Please.

He’s so confused.

“Luke, why is my sim upset?” “He’s hungry, Simeon.” “Oh, how do I fix that?” “...Simeon-”

There’s a toilet in the middle of the living room.

The fridge is facing the wall.

There’s no bathtub or shower.

The house is on fire- there is no god- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Okay, once he gets the hang of it he’s sitting pretty. His sims have good jobs, the kids are getting good grades, everything’s fine.

...

But Simeon won’t forget the nightmares.

What Even is This Save? (Solomon)

Solomon’s save is the definition of chaos.

One sim’s a vampire, the other is a spellcaster that really wants to fight the Callientes for some reason, there’s one normal sim that’s always sick for some reason,

It gets weird, confusing, and horrible.

Just how Solomon likes it.

His house makes no sense, like, what even is architecture?

Money cheats are needed because Solomon‘a goal of chaos and confusion is proving to be kind of expensive.

Square up Mortimer Goth, Solomon’s sims are here to steal your weird knight statue that’s worth a shit ton of simoleons for NO REASON.

He joined the scientist career for the sole purpose of getting to the alien planet and kidnapping adding an alien to the household via cheats.

The vampire ended up dying on their wedding day because Solomon forgot that he gave them the sun weakness.

Oh well, the ghost got added to the household! VAMPIRE GHOST!

The Child (Luke)

Before you say Luke’s too young to play the Sims, you should know that I was nine when I first started playing, and I turned out fiiiiiiiiiine.

He’s just happy to be playing.

Look, his sims are gardening :D

Look, two of them are getting married :D

Look, they had a baby :D

Look, his sims are building a rocket ship :D

Look, his sims’s rocket just crashed-

The concept of death hit the little angel right in the face that day.

“*sniffle*... my sims...”

Don’t worry, with tears in his eyes, Luke quit without saving and everything was fine!

Speaking of My Sims, Luke played MySims Sky Heroes and that was when Luke had his first bout of gamer rage.

MC came over to hang out with Solomon and Simeon, and in the distance they could just hear:

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY TIME WASN’T FAST ENOUGH TO CONTINUE THE STORY!? I’LL SHOW YOU FAST ENOUGH TIME!”

Okay, maybe Simeon should take the game away... just for a bit... he should take heed not to be bitten by the incredibly angry chihuahua.
