PUT MORE BROWN GIRLS IN DCTV: Kiran Singh/Solstice in Supergirl

If you would like to read my dream storyline for introducing Kiran and a background into my version of her character on the show, click the read more.

In the comics, Kiran Singh is the daughter of two Indian archeologists and is also a superheroine named Solstice. She has powers of photokinesis, energy projection, energy manipulation and flight.

My Supergirl version of this character will also be the daughter of two archeologists, however her parents die when she is very young on an expedition. In this expedition, they are the first people to encounter/come across the Kryptonian pod that Reign (the new Big Bad for Season 3 of Supergirl) came to Earth in and die when it gets opened. For her entire life, Kiran is trying to find out what happened to her parents and studies not only archeology but also alien technology since there was an unexplained nature to her parents deaths.

One fateful day, through tracing her parents steps on their last couple of days, Kiran comes across the remains of the Reign’s Kryptonian pod. Buried under the rubble is her mother’s necklace and her fathers pocket watch and she realizes that this was where her parents got killed. While investigating, Kiran cuts her hand on one of the sharper pieces of debris and some of the blood that Reign travelled to Earth with (seen in the last scene in 2x22) mixes with her blood and gives her powers.

Through her studies, Kiran realized how many times the DEO were present when something unexplained happens and put two and two together and was actually able to find the DEO itself. At first the DEO was going to wipe her mind however when J’onn realized the skill set Kiran had as an archeologist with a specific focus on artifacts of alien origin, he decides to take her on as a DEO agent to help identify alien tech.

She and Kara get along very well and since both she and Kara have such happy-go-lucky personalities and effervescent smiles, their friends have dubbed them “the sunshine twins”.

Kara, Kiran and the DEO often team up to fight alongside each other and since one of Kiran’s powers is harnessing and using energy similar to sunlight, she is able to help Kara out if they find themselves on a planet with no yellow sun and also when they are on Earth or any other planet with a yellow sun, she is able to give Kara a power boost. Other than that, her powers are still very helpful and get the team out of many sticky situations.

At some point, Kiran and Winn will start dating because I think that Winn needs someone positive and good in his life since he pined after Kara and she rejected him, he dated Siobhan, a literal supervillain and he dated Lyra, who totally fucking abused him so like no. Kiran/Winn all the way lol
