North East Ska Jazz Orchestra feat Dj Tubet - Piazza della Libertà

Il 15 Marzo è uscito il nuovo album della North East Ska Jazz Orchestra intitolato Sulla Rotta dei Venti in occasione i suoi dieci anni di storia.

L' album contiene 10 canzoni originali costruite attorno ad una ritmica di forte matrice giamaicana, con melodie contaminate da musiche tradizionali, talvolta etniche, ed elementi pop.

Sono onorato di essere presente in apertura del disco con un parlato in stile Dub Poetry in lingua friulana all'interno del brano "Piazza della Libertà".

Il testo è una fotografia dei movimenti migratori attuali, che hanno come sfondo Trieste, con le loro rotte e i loro approdi.

While we’re on the topic of black artist (prev posts I reblogged about why people dismiss rap & hip-hop as a genre), the artist that has been living in my head the last few days on literal repeat is Jhariah. I found one of his songs under a hard rock playlist, but his slogan is literally “no genre, all drama.” He’s an incredibly talented singer, writer, visual artist, animator, and director and yall should go check him out! My faves are To Take for Granted, Pressure Bomb, and Sunsets (Resilience)

It's Friday again, which means unbelievably, I get to do yet another song wizard new music Friday. For a 5th week! Somehow you're all still here. I'm not out of music, so let's do this!

For the uninitiated, Song-To-Go is a weekly song poll to take a lesser-known song along with you as you scroll!

one thing about alt stuff is that the barrier to entry to being "goth" is truely so fucking low and yet people constantly limbo under the bar instead of stepping over it and wonder why they get called posers. like we're not asking you to move mountains here we're just asking you to find even one band under the umbrella that you like and to engage with the community a little bit. The fashion has truely so much overlap between goth punk and emo so very few people will care which one you call yourself based on your look and you just have to find a band you like. Dashboard Confessional screams a bit too much for your taste and Dead Kennedys is too loud? Guess what you're in luck the goths listen to something a little softer and weirder they call it dark wave or ethereal wave depending on the phases of the moon. Try out Clan of Xymox or Switchblade Symphony. Like truly the alt music scene is so fucking diverse there's gotta be something in here that you like. If not and you truly are a pop girlie then don't call yourself punk it's very easy.
