I have said this before and I will say it online:

MY PROBLEM IS NOT WITH SLOW SONGS. MY PROBLEM IS WITH UNDERSTIMULATING SONGS, WHICH TEND TO BE SLOW.

Slow song w/ lots of instrumentals & lyrics: good

Slow song w/ very few instrumentals & lyrics: too understimulating for me to like

Seriously. Jishoumushoukou, Meru, Kimi no yoru wo kure, Nomad, Reborn, & Kanadetomosusora are all genuinely good songs that I really like. Y to Y, however, is so understimulating I can't stand to listen to it. You know what they all have in common?

Vocaloid They're all slow songs.

Fellow Tumblr users, I urge you: is the song bad because it's slow or is it just understimulating?

If anyone is looking for new music, check out The Happy Fits. They are one of my favorite bands and have music for everyone. They have rock songs, pop songs, beachy songs, slow songs. Some of the best harmonies, and to top it off one of them plays a cello.

i love 25ji’s slow songs so much because its all very very emotional and it makes people feel the emotions so viscerally. ESPECIALLY SAISEI. that shit is top tier

and the fact that slower songs are rarely seen in games like project sekai and are more focused on more upbeat, fast ones. that makes a difference in my book tbh, a huge differentiating factor between 25ji and literally any other rhythm game bands.

it fits 25ji’s image of “not caring about popularity but about how it will affect those who need it” kudos to the many songwriters and composers who compose slow songs you are my world

isn’t the music you discover when you’re sad so beautiful? the way you can feel your pumping heart with every beat of the song, you can feel your throat starting to hurt because you’re resisting the urge to cry, you can feel your breathing deepen and your surroundings blur out. All of a sudden, you look around, look out your window to see leaves glistening in the after-rain sun, see dogs chasing each other and people walking around leisurely. you’re feeling every lyric, even if you don’t understand the language. a light smile. you feel bad for yourself. but you’re happy you’re able to be in that moment and witness how slowly life moves. ah, is this what romanticizing feels like? the song ends and somehow you’re feeling a little better. the pain in your throat stays though
