It is kind of funny how much I've detached myself from appearance directly correlating to gender actually. When I design a character I go. Okay. What would they wear that reflects their personality and surroundings? And I make a character who is a 30 year old divorced man who looks like this:

#He is dressing more femininely than he'd prefer because his whole thing is that he is a closeted transman who is overperforming his assigned #gender for social reasons. BUT even after he starts dressing how he wants it's still the same amount of pink and frills because now he's #doing it because he LIKES it not because he has to. Once he feels more secure in himself.#Like appearance and clothes is important to gender expression no doubt about it but also the world is so beautiful once you go:#Wait I don't have to perform in any particular way if I don't want to. I can do whatever I want forever.#Anyway welcome to my blog where I ask one question: What if a character was repressed? But then gained a support system? And they felt safe #to explore aspects of their identity they'd been ignoring in favor of conforming for safety's sake?

Kinda haphazardly throwing things together and probably overthinking it but I'm wondering if the god Avgins worshipped that is independent of the aeon system might actually be Ena the Order, an aeon who no longer exists and was absorbed into the Harmony.

This might be baseless but Ena's form included what looks to be a puppet and a giant eye behind them, which counts three eyes. Most notably the eye looks familiar

Aventurine has the same eye color. He was born on a day of rain and is considered to be blessed by the goddess. If this is the case, it's interesting that his eye color matches Ena's eye.

But Ena is also gone. We don't know what happens to aeons when they are absorbed into other aeons but i wonder if even after their disappearance, their existence still affects the universe. Much like how stars still shine millions of years after their deaths.

Here's some more info about Ena

The planet Aventurine is from has a harsh environment, constantly at threat of asteroids and solar winds. If at some point, his planet worshipped Ena then their decline and eventual collapse would align with what happened to other civilizations that worshipped them.

And if Aventurine is indeed blessed by Ena, his good fortune would come from the Order.

Another interesting thing

Ena was by no means a small or weak aeon. How Xipe devoured Ena is still a mystery. Being so enormous, I think that is why Ena would still have influence on the universe. It would also explain what's happening in Penacony; the Family suspects that the Harmony is being tainted. What if that's Ena? Bits of the Order are slipping through and affecting the dreamscape.

I also wonder if this is why the Harmony affected Aventurine like it did. Of course, I have no other instances to compare to so Aventurine experiencing hallucinations and talking with his past and "future" self could be how the Harmony punishes.

I'm excited to learn more about the aeons, especially the ones that no longer exist. Again this is mostly baseless speculation but i thought it would be an interesting concept to explore.

If we get a scene of Arya crowning Jon, it needs to parallel the scene of Jon gifting Needle to Arya for me. A personal scene between the two of them that's about their unconditional love for each other. It isn't about Jon becoming King but about Arya supporting him in the same way he supported her. "Girls get the arms but not the swords. Bastards get the swords but not the arms" come full circle with two outcasts supporting each other occupying spaces that society says they can't

It fucking blows my mind how so many men will just see a picture of a woman and feel compelled to publicly announce whether he finds her fuckable or not. This happens on basically every social media site and also irl. Like, did you ever consider that maybe she's not desperate for the approval of random men and she doesn't care if you think that she's too fat or her nose is too big or whatever?

It just gets really disheartening running into this time and time again because it really hammers in the point that far too many men only value women for our looks. Like they have the capacity to comment literally anything and somehow it always comes back to whether a woman makes their peepee hard or not.

#this happens literally EVERYWHERE you can't escape it #like nobody is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to be attracted to people you aren't attracted to #so why do you feel compelled to proudly state that you think fat women or women with muscles or whatever are ugly #you're not some brave cultural warrior you're actually just conforming to standards of beauty that have existed for centuries #btw I don't mean to imply that women never do the same thing but I just feel like it's not as frequent #rant #misogyny #male entitlement #feminism

hey so I'm literally starting to hate the word "radical" in its political usage.

it is not radical to think that people deserve food and clean water.

it is not radical to think that people deserve safe housing, full stop.

it is not radical to think that bodily autonomy is a human right.

it is not radical to think that queer and trans folks should be allowed to exist comfortably and happily, be allowed to marry each other, and have access to medical care, gender-affirming or otherwise.

it is not radical to think that children shouldn't be going into debt over school lunches.

it is not radical to think that education should be free.

it is not radical to think that nobody should have to die of preventable/treatable illnesses.

it is not radical to think that poverty shouldn't fucking exist.

belief in basic human rights and dignities for everyone that exists is not a radical stance, we're a cooperative species, we are LITERALLY built to care for and help each other.

attaching the term "radical" to any stance that approaches compassionate and decent is a tool of the oppressor class, and we are literally 200 years behind the curve. we HAVE to re-frame the way we talk about these things and throw the fucking shackles off.

#in all seriousness it was trans women who made me finally get out of denial about my own transness #i kept writing off trans men from being Really Men bc i thought every woman hated womanhood and being female‚ and just suffered through #bc society brainwashes you into gender conformity #and ''well‚ i may as well deal with this horrible lot in life'' which is what i thought everybody else also thought #but trans women very obviously were NOT brainwashed by society into wanting to be and enjoying being female. so clearly there was something #wrong with that assumption i had made....#and also‚ with how much people insist you're ''saying women can't be masculine without really being men‚'' it was great to find out #that i don't have to worry about there being less butch women in the world‚ bc there are many trans women who actually love and enjoy being #masc AS WOMEN‚ and i don't need to force myself to be that bc there are people out there who really do want that for themselves‚ despite #everything society tells them #and ofc cis women can be and are butch as well but I'll always feel much more of a connection with masc trans women #bc we're both masculine and trans‚ even though they're obviously going in the opposite direction to me #mtf #transfem #transgender #transsexual #trans #o.

in MDZS the novel, the innkeeper in Yunping mentions that people are too scared to go petition Yunmeng Jiang for help because someone once walked in on Sect Leader Jiang whipping a guy in the main hall, supposedly because the guy was a demonic cultivator.

#mdzs #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #jc apologism #anyways as you can hopefully tell by now this is a jc stan blog.#so as a stan i will do my rightful stan duty and insist that my fave did nothing wrong #so. onwards. the “jiang cheng tortures demonic cultivators” claim is interesting on several levels #because we don't see it happen onscreen. and because thematically mdzs is a book about the unreliability of rumors #especially when said rumors conform to your preexisting understanding of someone. or what you want to hear about someone #it would have been so easy for mxtx to include a scene where jc tortures a demonic cultivator onscreen. i would love to read it too #but that doesnt happen. when jc actually corners wwx he just shoves a dog in his face and bullies him emotionally #smh jc get your shit together!! what is this lame ass display?? not living up to your reputation here loser #anyways. tbh i consider two things separately: 1. mxtx's intentions. and 2. what the text itself implies #for 1. i am legitimately unsure of what to think. mxtx relies on rumors/empathy/etc to give us info about side characters #in part because she's constrained herself to writing from wwx's perspective and has no other easy way of getting the info to us #does she intend for us to question the rumors? or are we supposed to take them as fact because of the narration limits described?#2. what the text itself implies is not necessarily the same as what mxtx intends.#for me mdzs is in part a story about the unreliability of rumors and reputation etc etc. other meta writers than i have explained it better #so for the work to go “all the rumors about wwx were exaggerated/manipulated/not 100% correct.”#“but the rumors about everyone else are 100% true!!!!!”#is peak stupidity. and shit-tier writing #and i actually like mdzs so i would like to believe the writer is more intelligent than that #thus. i conclude in part due to this emotional necessity of mine that there must have been something more going on #anyways. i have similar opinions about the “did jiggy kill rusong” business but that's a post for later #ill probably put my jc torture opinions in their own post some day #yanyan polls
