I was thinking about "real head" Dante yesterday and about the fact that we don't know basically anything about them...
When I first started Limbus I thought it was odd to keep Dante's gender hidden. Look at him! He's obviously a guy right? 🤔
But actually PM is really respectful in how they draw their female characters. In their uniforms especially they don't show off their "feminine curves" nearly at all. Even beautiful Rodion isn't showing anything off and Outis looks the same as the men if you hide her face.
So yeah, I reconsidered!! Dante could totally turn out to be a woman if they wanted!!! Here's a self indulgent fem presenting Dante design!

hi everyone
first and foremost i want to apologize for disappearing with no warning or explanation. ghosting you guys wasn’t my intention - i felt guilty about being online while still not having updated sckl and tried to be less active because of it, but around the end of september my life took an even bigger nosedive than before and i completely forgot about checking in on here. when i realized just how long i had been completely inactive, i checked tumblr and got super overwhelmed by the number of notifications, messages & inbox submissions to the point where i impulsively deleted the app from my phone because i was so anxious. i wanted to have the chapter ready for you guys when i came back online and therefore put immense pressure on myself to make sure it was “perfect” and what everyone would want it to be. i’ve lost count of how many times i tried rewriting this chapter only to go with my original plan in the end. lesson learned.
anyway, with that being said, chapter 25 is ready and i’ll be updating sckl right after i post this. this chapter is ridiculously long and and i’m honestly nervous about it since it’s been over a year now, but i really hope you guys enjoy it!
i’ve said it a thousand times but it really and truly means a lot to me that you guys not only enjoy my writing but have stuck around despite all my bullshit. again, i am so sorry for disappearing and i want to thank you all for the kind and patient (and even impatient!!) messages. i’ve only looked at a few inbox submissions right now because it’s quite overwhelming to have so many but i’ll try to respond over time. anything i’ve been tagged in is almost certainly lost in my notifs by now so if there’s something i’ve missed that you want me to see, please tag me again or dm me!
i gave a brief summary of what’s been going on in this chapter’s end notes, so on here i’ll just say that i’m perfectly fine and safe. to put it most simply it’s just that i have a lot of people in my life to take care of and got extremely overwhelmed and burned out from it this year.

#vanilluxe#having to double check on all of these to make sure i'm getting all the names right#i honestly just forget this line exists most of the time. i feel like i remember it mostly as “that one ice cream cone line that everybody#hates for some reason”#i do hope i see lots of vanillite line fans in the notes of these. it's become rather refreshing to just about always see that every#pokémon has its fans#even if i dislike them. which surprisingly i don't care that much about the vanillite line one way or the other#i am Neutral on them. though now that i genuinely think about it#they're called vanill-whatever implying they're vanilla flavored ice cream#and so i thought. well would they taste like vanilla? but i'm like. no they're pokémon. it's probably just snow. or part of their body#but then i realized that their cones are made of ice and the thought shook me to my core#here's a fact about me. everybody has their autism textures‚ right? both good and bad textures#good textures are great but less common and bad textures feel like they cause physical pain to touch#i think for most autistic folks on this site‚ i've heard silk a lot. silk being a very bad autism texture. or cotton#lucky for me‚ i have a rather uncommon autism texture. and that's ice#ice and frostbitten things. snow is fine‚ but like. when you get an ice cream in a drink cup and the outside condensation#starts to freeze a little?#holy fucking shit i will genuinely drop something if you hand it to me and it has that texture. it has happened before#you HAVE to wrap that shit in a napkin‚ THOROUGHLY‚ if you want me to touch it#so i thought about holding the vanillite line as though they were regular ice cream cones and i genuinely wretched#so now i will not do this

something about denki as a character that i am very fascinated by is that he is a Normal Kid. a normal cheerful energetic kid who loves his friends and gets scared and who hesitates and tries his best. people complain about how he doesn’t utilize his quirk to its fullest potential, but also. he’s a kid. a student. who attends UA specifically to LEARN how to properly use his quirk to save people. he’s not a prodigy or crazy smart or reckless or overly passionate like his other classmates, and he doesn’t need to be
in particular i really think this part of his character doesn’t get explored enough when it comes to his relationships with other people. like, he has a powerful quirk, he’s attending his dream school, in the class that is constantly in the limelight, and no one doubts that he’s exactly where he should be or that he should be anything other than a hero. is that not everything that midoriya or monoma or shinsou wanted? is that not what makes denki’s acceptance of shinsou so impactful?

I think a lot of the sentiment about severance being boring now comes from people that wanted it to have this Big Sci Fi Reveal of epic proportions. All while ignoring how much the show parallels reality.
Of course ms. Huang is just a child and not some devious genetic experiment. Of course the severance program comes down to a teenager designing it as a reaction to being a child labourer. You see the town Lumon built itself of off and then immediately abandoned it and the repercussions of that. The biggest sci fi plot twist being Gemma's kidnapping and forced experiments, but even those are reflective of the exploitation and fetishism that asian woman experience (esp in the workplace)! This season we've been given more context about Mr. Milchick and Natalie, two people of colour also being exploited and manipulated into exploiting others. Even Helena is indicative of this charcater heavy plot as we find out just how little control she has over her own life.
The Bad Guys are given nuance. The Good Guys are given nuance. And the setting is fleshed out.
None of these things are exclusive to science fiction, but the sci fi setting allows the story to explore the concequences and realities in a new and interesting light.
All these bits are just reflecting the reality of our own capitalist infrastructure. You know, the one the show has been critiquing this entire time. The show was never going to be the Matrix or Tron or whatever people expected. Just a weird, slightly dystopian science fiction black comedy that keeps you guessing.

james vowles about lewis on the track limits pod:
"(...) so i'll go into lewis and i'll answer that one, but it isn't just lewis; niki lauda, ross brawn, david richards, you'd be a fool if you didn't take everything out of everyone that you can at any stage that they provide it to you...michael shumacher, as well, all the drivers that I've ever worked with. so with lewis, he has a desire to win that will (btw every champion that i've worked with have exactly the same sort of traits (...) his are very toned, very skilled. he will do what it takes, either to his body, to himself, to his training, to his life to win races. there's nothing that will stand in his way to get there. and it's that dedication that is enormous. every millisecond matters, and what it does is it drives you forward to go: i don't want to let him down by being the one that holds back a millisecond or two of that. every development matters, every moment that he can extract the performance matters as well at the same time, and he brings you on that journey with him.
"the next thing about him is that he's not...engineers can be constrained often by what you believe to be correct, so you don't push outside of those boundaries...he's not. he's constrained by 'let's go and explore all of that again and you never know what you might find', and that's often led to some of the biggest developments i remember actually on f1 cars, the innovations to a certain extent were accidents. you sort of went down a different direction and something happened. and he's very good at pushing engineers outside of comfort into new areas where you think 'there's no point going there, there's nothing there' and all too often you find something and again, that's one of his skills.
“but the final one is, and i am very privileged and i know i am very privileged but i have spent (...) he and i went motorbiking together lots on track, and a lot of the times you wouldn't have known he was there and i remember once actually, we were having dinner together in a restaurant in spain and we had to run, we had to run out of the restaurant because we were being chased by about a thousand people because someone caught on that he was there. i think that mistake was that he tried to pay with a 100 euro bill and that gave it away. but my point to that is that i've had the privilege of knowing him as a human and as a friend and he is a caring human who...think about it: how do you know who in your life to trust because you are lewis hamilton? and the fact that he opened that up for me, to be alongside and as a part of his life meant a tremendous amount to me. and he's an individual (...) i already told you, he will change his life to be there. he goes back to an apartment by himself in monaco and trains. dedication to the absolute level of winning a championship."

On a mild winter day–not quite warm but definitely less chilly than it had been in days past–Oikawa and Iwaizumi are hanging out at the park. They’re not doing anything–for once, neither of them particularly feel like a round of volleyball. Iwaizumi is idly making snowballs. Oikawa would be worried, but so far Iwaizumi’s done nothing more than break the snowballs apart once he’s finished shaping them, so he’s largely unconcerned until the blue-clad figure of a certain pesky underclassman (former underclassman?) turns around the corner and starts jogging towards the park.
“You have got to be kidding me,” he grouses.
“What?” Iwaizumi asks, then he notices Kageyama Tobio jogging towards them.
“Be nice, Shittykawa,” he grumbles.
“I’m always nice,” Oikawa snaps.
Iwaizumi raises one singular eyebrow at him, and Oikawa shuts his mouth immediately.
“Kageyama!” Iwaizumi calls.
Kageyama’s eyes widen, and then he’s running lightly towards the two of them. He gives them both a half-nod.
“Oikawa-senpai, Iwaizumi-senpai,” he says. “How are you?”
“We’re fine,” Oikawa says.
“Congrats on making it to Nationals,” Iwaizumi says, and even gives Kageyama a fist bump. “We watched some of your matches. You played well.”
Kageyama’s cheeks turn pink. “Thanks. It was fun.”
“How’s number ten doing?” Iwaizumi asks. “I heard he collapsed.”
Kageyama scowls. “That idiot,” he says. “He’s fine. He didn’t get enough rest.”
Oikawa doesn’t want to sit here and listen to Iwaizumi and Kageyama talk about Nationals, when it’s a bitter reminder that he never got to play in it himself, so he blurts out the first thing he can think of that isn’t related to Nationals.
Which just happens to be, “Hey, Kageyama, do you think you can give me Mr. Refreshing’s contact information?”
Silence falls over the three of them as Iwaizumi and Kageyama process his words, then turn to stare at him with different expressions. Iwaizumi’s eyes are wide and his jaw has dropped slightly; Kageyama meanwhile looks incredibly confused.
Oikawa doesn’t know where that came from. Why would he ask about Mr. Refreshing? He hasn’t even thought about the silver-haired reserve setter from Karasuno since his defeat at the Spring Semifinals. Or, no, he was definitely watching Mr. Refreshing during the Shiratorizawa match. Okay, so he hasn’t thought about him since–no, wait, he was also watching him during the Inarizaki match…it seems like he’s thought a lot about Mr. Refreshing lately.
“Who’s Mr. Refreshing?” Kageyama asks after the silence has gone on too long.
“Your senpai?” Oikawa asks. “You know, at Karasuno?”
“Why do you want his number?” Iwaizumi demands. “What are you planning?”
“You don’t support me making friends? Iwa-chan!” Oikawa throws Iwaizumi a fake pout. Iwaizumi starts threateningly scooping up snow.
“I just want to talk to him,” Oikawa says, raising his hands placatingly. “Is that so hard to believe?”
“Yes,” Iwaizumi says, and starts shaping it into a ball. Oikawa surreptitiously starts moving away from him.
Kageyama shrugs. “I don’t know if…if…my senpai would want me to give out his contact information.”
That is a reasonable objection, Oikawa supposes. But when there’s a will, there’s a way.
“Hm, well, you have my information, right?” Oikawa asks, even though he knows the answer to this.
“No.” Kageyama is as blunt as ever.
Oikawa blinks. “You don’t? I thought you did?”
Kageyama frowns. “You never gave it to me.”
“I didn’t?!” Oikawa gasps in fake surprise (of course he hadn’t given Kageyama Tobio his number). “Really?”
“Why are you surprised,” Iwaizumi mutters, not loud enough for Kageyama to hear him, but he is leaning close to make sure that Oikawa hears the judgment in his tone.
He makes the executive decision to ignore Iwaizumi. And shifts even further away from his friend, because Iwaizumi’s almost finished with the snowball.
“Here,” Oikawa says, and starts rummaging around his coat for a slip of paper to write his number on. “I’ll give you my number, and you can ask if Mr. Refreshing if he wants it or not.”
“But…” Kageyama’s mouth opens and shuts a few times, before he manages to say, “Who’s Mr. Refreshing?”
“Your senpai, you know, the pretty one.” The comment slips out, but Oikawa freezes as soon as the words have been said.
Since when has he thought that Karasuno’s reserve setter was pretty? Sure, he has interesting hair (a light silvery color, one that looks like it would shimmer in the sun), and his eyes are a really nice shade of brown (almost copper, if he was feeling fancy), and he had nice hands (setter’s hands, really) but that didn’t mean he was pretty. Just mildly interesting to look at.
“The…pretty one?” Kageyama repeats.
“You think Mr. Refreshing’s pretty?” Iwaizumi asks, and now he’s leaning back to regard Oikawa with a look that spells nothing but trouble. At least he’s stopped messing with the snow, Oikawa thinks numbly. “Really?”
“Well, I–” Oikawa sputters as he frantically tries to defend himself. He’s not going to back down on something he said, regardless of how much he may or may not have meant it. “He’s certainly not ugly!”
“Do you mean Shimizu?” Kageyama asks earnestly. “She really doesn’t want her number getting out. Tanaka and Noya told us that we should under no circumstances give anyone her number without her permission.”
“Shimizu?” Oikawa asks and starts mentally going through Karasuno’s roster (he really should have learned their names; he can only recall their jersey numbers) before he remembers the pretty girl with glasses who’d followed Karasuno around during their matches. “Oh, your manager?”
Kageyama nods.
“No, she’s cute, but I don’t want her number. I want Mr. Refreshing’s number.” Oikawa scoffs. “Besides, I don’t think she’d be a Mr. Refreshing.”
Kageyama starts frowning again. “So it’s not Shimizu? Most people want her number.”
“Eh, she already rejected me.”
Kageyama blinks. “She did?”
“Yeah.” Oikawa gives up on searching for paper. “Here, just put your number in my phone,” he says to Kageyama, and hands over his phone, a space for a new contact already opened. Kageyama willingly types his number in. Oikawa messages Kageyama immediately as soon as the contact’s made.
“Now you have my number,” he says cheerfully. “So you can go to Mr. Refreshing and ask if he wants my contact info, and if he says yes, you can send it to him for me!” He gives Kageyama his most winning smile.
“...I still don’t know who Mr. Refreshing is,” Kageyama says.
“I told you, he’s your pretty senpai.” Oikawa doesn’t stumble over pretty. He does not; he never stumbles over admitting whether or not someone is pretty. “Karasuno’s not that big.”  He pauses, then adds, “His hair’s grey, if that helps.”
“...right.”
It’s awkwardly silent after that.
“Ah, Kageyama,” Iwaizumi says, cutting into the silence, and offering Kageyama a smile when Kageyama turns to him. “That reminds me. Your captain’s really good at receives; do you think I could get his number? I want to ask him for some tips.”
“Oh,” Kageyama says, and actually visibly brightens. “I’m sure Daichi-san would be happy to hear you say that. Yeah, I can give it to you.”
Oikawa’s jaw drops, but Iwaizumi shoots him a glare that quickly shuts him up. Kageyama gives Iwaizumi Daichi’s number a little too easily, and then Iwaizumi is telling Kageyama to have a good run, and Kageyama’s jogging off in the opposite direction.
“Iwa-chan!” Oikawa wails as soon as Kageyama’s out of sight. “Why are you getting Karasuno’s captain’s number?”
Iwaizumi raises an eyebrow at him. “You don’t support me making friends?”
It’s such a blatant mockery of Oikawa’s earlier words that Oikawa gasps and scoops up a handful of loose snow to throw in Iwaizumi’s face. “Iwa-chan!”
Iwaizumi scowls and brushes snow from his hair. “You’re going to regret that,” he says, and picks up a snowball. Oikawa barely has time to plead for mercy before it hits him in the face.
He puts Kageyama Tobio, and the Mr. Refreshing dilemma, out of his mind after that, too busy trying to get as much snow as possible into Iwaizumi’s clothes.
