Winter: Secrets.
Tumblr media
player: kepa arrizabalaga words: 932 request: kepa arrizabalaga  |  You  |  500 – 900  |   you're pregnant with your second child and you already told your first child but she has a bad reputation of keeping secrets but ends up keeping this one and kepa is skeptical everytime you guys whisper at each other and finally finds out on christmas with your daughter blurting it out the exact same moment he opens his gift
-
Christmas had always been special for you, and it was the time of year you were most looking forward to when the positive had shown up on the pregnancy test several years ago. You couldn’t wait to see their little face light up at the sight of the decorations and bring yours and Kepa’s traditions to life.
But this year was different. Sofia now understood who Santa was and school was building up to the Christmas festivities. Every week she was coming home with paper chains, paper snowflakes and snowman Christmas cards and what felt like the school’s supply of glitter that would always fall from the makes. She, like you, marked off each passing day and week with excitement, though hers was for a very different reason and yours would take much longer than just 4 weeks to get to your due date.
Sofia, who has never been able to keep a secret in her short life, has so far remained silent. She’ll hop from foot to foot until Kepa leaves the room and waits long enough to hear that he has gone downstairs before rushing over to you and whispers, “hello baby,” and gives your belly a small rub. There’s no bump there yet, not really. The swell was nothing more than a belly full of food but still smaller than if you had period bloat. But the two of you knew the difference and soon, so would Kepa.
-
Kepa kneels beneath the tree, surrounded by the presents that he sorts into piles for each person. Sofia, naturally, has the biggest pile, though he’s slightly confused by one present which is carefully wrapped with a label in Sofia’s writing that has B.A written on it. He saves his confusion for when you enter the lounge with the first caffeine drink of the day, Sofia rushing ahead of you with the black trash bag ready for you to take all the wrapping paper and clear it away.
“I couldn’t work out who this one was for?” He says over the sound of Sofia squealing with happiness at being able to finally start unwrapping, lifting the package which squeezes softly under his grasp.
“That one needs to be the last present to be opened.” you look away, turning your attention back to your daughter in the hope that you can keep your calm throughout this and that he doesn’t ask you anymore questions which may inevitably cause you to break the silence that Kepa doesn’t know you’re holding.
The two of you alternate between opening a present each while Sofia rips through hers with glee. You try to gather up as much of the paper as you can before she sends further flurries to the ground once more. Excited squeals of THANK YOU!” fills the room as she hugs each of the toys and clothes and holds them at arm's length before moving onto the next quickly. Kepa and your collection of gifts are much smaller but far more meaningful and wanted.
He’s grinning at you as he speaks and you’re trying to take in his words but Sofi appearing excitedly beside the both of you with the last present held tightly in her hands distracts you.
“Last present!” she says, thrusting it at her daddy and grins before she begins dancing on the spot, unable to keep her excitement now the truth is so close to being out in the open.
“So, I’m B.A?” Kepa asks with amusement as he reaches out to take the present, once again feeling its squishy contents through the paper and wondering what it contains.
“No silly!” Sofia giggles, and the nerves that have been building the moment since the date turned to the 20th takes over. More so because you know she’s about to ruin the surprise before he’s able to open it. It’s too late, her lips are already forming the words and before you can stop her, she’s saying “that’s the baby!”
Kepa’s fingers pause, the wrapping paper now partially open as he looks between you both, waiting for the “only kidding” line to be verbalised but instead, he’s met with awkward silence. Your heart pounds against your ribs, the nausea that builds is for a reason other than morning sickness this time and your instinct to touch your stomach protectively tries to take over.
“Open it daddy! Look what we got the baby!”
Sofia, unable to wait any longer and Kepa was clearly taking too long, begins to rip into the gift until all that is left is a small babygrow and scan picture resting on top of it. The fingers which pick up the scan shake a little, his adam’s apple bobs as he swallows and you can hear the change in his breathing as he stares at the tiny window to your womb. “You’re pregnant?” He whispers, turning to look at you with a look you didn’t think you’d see again. Only this time, he knows what parenting enables and the difference that a small human can have upon your life and so this time, dare you say, it has more meaning.
“11 weeks.” You nod. “I wanted to tell you before now bu-” you’re cut off as he moves the announcement and closes the small gap between you both. One hand holds you lightly at the waist, the other cups the back of your neck and he kisses you gently.
“We’re having another baby,” he rushes his words out before placing another kiss on top of the last one.
“And I’m going to be a big sister!”

"'Special snowflake'? Unique? Do people really think that there's only ever one kind of snowflake in the world? Out of billions? Truth is, for every one snowflake there's about four or five copies out at the same time. Finding a matching pair would be the world's biggest game of Match.
The Snowflake Makers make one original snowflake, then it's copied however many times needed to make the quota. If we feel one's been used too frequently, we go into the archives and take out one from a decade or two ago, dust it off and send it out.
---'Special snowflake', I love it. Snowflakes aren't unique... people are."

@dimension20alphabet prompt fill #3: crown
title: Morning Glow - campaign: the Unsleeping City - 960 words - set shortly after s1
Esther and Sofia help Rowan pack away her old closet.
Some brassy old standard plays off Sofia’s phone, connected to a shitty little speaker with an aux cord. It provides the background music to set the scene: three young women rummaging through a dusty old storage room, attempting to make progress on a Saturday morning.
“You’ve got a lot of clothes down here,” Esther comments as she’s handed lavish dresses and ostentatious coats to fold and pack away into boxes.
“Well, you have to keep something from every show you do,” Rowan replies, dramatic as ever, rummaging through the clothes. “How else are you supposed to remember them all?”
“You’ve been in a lot of shows,” Esther continues, raising a brow.
“Well, I’ve been working in the biz for a long time.” Rowan glances back at the wizard curiously. “Not much one for the theater?”
Esther shrugs. “I’ve never been, until recently.” Too risky, she almost says. “And I’m guessing it’s not normally supposed to go down the way it did at Midsummer Nights?”
Rowan laughs. “Not typically, no. Although you’d be surprised.”
“So these were all your costumes?” Sofia asks, drawing in a breath with awe. She holds up a dress, slightly faded and very old-fashioned. “On Broadway??”
“Only some of them,” Rowan answers, shimmying her shoulders and smirking. “Some of them are -- ooh! Originals,” she says, noticing the dress Sofia holds and running the fabric of the skirt through her fingers nostalgically. “This one’s from the 1870s.”
Sofia smiles and nods, folding it very gently to pack away. “How many are from shows then?”
“Maybe a third? It’s so hard to keep track of them all.”
Esther snorts. “They just let you take the costumes like that?”
“Oh, I didn’t say that.” Rowan laughs, mischievous.
“What’s this one from?” Sofia asks, rummaging through the closet and pulling out a dark, glittery dress.
Rowan holds her chin and takes a look. “Cabaret,” she says after a beat. “Ooh, what a fun one! That looked so good on me in ‘66.” She grins and takes the dress from Sofia, holding it up against her chest to admire it again. “I wonder if it still fits.”
“I bet, you’d look great in that,” Sofia says, nodding and taking a seat on one of the packed boxes. They were already labeled with sharpie, all ready to move to Rowan’s new apartment. Much as she loved her penthouse, it would be too suspicious if she just moved into the late Misty Moore’s apartment out of the blue. “I wish I could pull off a dress like that.”
“Sure you can!” Rowan says, folding the dress and handing it to Esther.
“No, no, I couldn’t,” Sofie shakes her head and smiles, albeit a little sadly. She sets the dress aside. “I don’t have the--”
“The what, darling?” Rowan chuckles. “The zazz?”
“The confidence,” Esther fills in, shrugging.
“The joy,” Sofia adds. It sits in the air among them for a moment, silent save for the showtune on the shitty little speaker.
“Darlings, all you need is to get into character,” Rowan counters gently after a beat. The mischief returns to her smile. “And all you need to get into character is--” she pauses, snaps her fingers with a flourish, and in a puff of smoke and spark, appears in a deeply-low-cut black vest, shorts and garters, with a bowler hat and striking makeup up top. “--a good costume!”
The other two women snicker and applaud lightly. Rowan smirks and rolls her shoulders, splays out her jazz hands, the spitting image of Liza Minelli while her Disguise Self spell lasts. “Really, you two should try something on! I can’t be the only one having a little fun here today,” she continues.
“I think it’ll take more than just a costume to get me in your mood, but thanks,” Sofia says. Esther nods and gives an “mhm” in agreement.
“What?” Rowan’s shoulders drop, but her smile doesn’t. “No, no, of course not! You just need the right costume,” she says, lighting up again and going back to rummage through the closet. In a moment, she pops back out, grinning and holding a crown and a cape. Turning to Sofia, she places the crown on her head: a shimmery blue-silver tiara, like snowflakes or starbursts. “For you, Miss Lee,” she says grandly. Then, turning to Esther, she whips the cape around with a flourish and drapes it over her shoulders. “And for you, Miss Sinclair! The Witches of New York!”
Sofia and Esther exchange a look with each other before bursting out into giggles. It was silly, but they had to give Rowan credit, it was kind of fun.
“Witches, huh?” Esther says, glancing down at the burgundy cloak around her shoulders. She stands and sways to watch it ripple around her.
“Yeah, well,” Rowan says, holding her chin again and regarding them. “That one’s from Into the Woods,” she points to Esther, then to Sofia. “And that’s from Wicked.”
“You played Glinda?” Sofia asks, gently taking the crown off and holding it so she can get a good look of it herself.
“In the 2000’s? No, darling, I was Madame Morrible,” Rowan laughs. “Although I suppose I could now…” She taps her chin in thought.
Sofia chuckles and stands, handing the crown back to Rowan. “That’s really sweet, Rowan. Thanks.”
“Hm?” Rowan says, glancing down at the crown. She gently pushes it back at Sofia. “Keep it, Sofie darling.”
“Huh? But it’s yours.”
Rowan smiles and shakes her head. She takes the crown back and gently places it back on Sofia’s head. “It suits you.” She glances over at Esther, too, with pride. “You too, darling. You’ll grow into it.”
The two witches smile and take turns giving their thanks and a hug to the faerie, who, afterwards, takes each of their hands in hers and gives them a squeeze.

CHAPTER 7 ✨ sneak peak
(requested by @wallymcflubberfins SPOILERS for my upcoming Treasure Planet fanfiction)
─────
On their way to the galley, Delbert marched furiously down the stairs, his suit causing his footsteps to sound loud and heavy with each step he took as he ranted angrily about the captain, clearly annoyed by her attitude towards him. "That woman! That... feline! Who does she think is working for whom?"
"It's our map," Jim said, gesturing to both Sophie and himself. "And she's got us bussin' tables?"
Sophie was about to open her mouth to speak, but Mr. Arrow beat her to it, making her quickly shut her mouth. "I'll not tolerate and cross word about our captain!" he spoke strictly, grabbing both Delbert and Jim by the shoulder, stopping them momentarily as their expressions of anger turned sheepish, and Sophie glanced down at the floor in a shy manner.
It was clear that Mr. Arrow was mightily devoted to the captain, most likely having known her a long time from what Sophie guessed.
"There's no finer officer in this, or any galaxy." he stated, letting go of the boys and allowing them to continue forward, but they only got a few steps before coming to a stop once again when the sound of someone whistling reached their ears.
In the kitchenette, they could see a silhouette of a large, unfamiliar figure at the counter wearing an apron and whistling to themselves. Due to the steam emitting from the boiling pot, the character was a bit hazy, making it difficult to properly make out what they looked like, only able to see their left side.
"Mr. Silver?" Mr. Arrow called out, catching said person's attention, making them pause their actions and redirect his attention to the captain's second in command.
"Why, Mr. Arrow, sir." the man said, his voice deep and a bit gruff, donning an thick Irish accent as he wiped his hands with his apron. "Bringin' such fine lookin' distinguished guests to grace my humble galley. Had I known, I'd have tucked in me shirt." he said, bowing in respect to Mr. Arrow, before tucking his apron into his trousers, ending with a chuckle.
Upon seeing his full appearance, he was revealed to be a male Ursid, most likely somewhere between the age of fifty to sixty years old from what the black haired lass could deduce. Only a little bit of his brown hair was hanging out from his red bandana. He also wore a golden hoop earring on his remaining left ear, similar to Jim's.
Now that his right side was visible, Jim and Sophie's eyes scanned over the cybernetic peg leg and mechanical arm that clicked and hummed as he moved. Briefly glancing over at Jim and Sophie with a lazy grin, his cybernetic right-eye glimmered.
Jim gasped lightly but sharply, and Sophie's breath hitched upon making eye contact with the ship's cook.
"A cyborg." they both whispered simultaneously. The pit of Sophie's gut held a bit of dread and she felt an unsettling twinge in her spine, subtly grasping onto her spyglass in a protective manner for comfort.
Sensing her uneasiness, Jim quietly and easily took her arm, pulling her in closer.
"May I introduce Dr. Doppler? The financier of our voyage." Mr. Arrow said, prompting the Delbert to step forward.
"Love the outfit, Doc." the Ursid man said as his robotic eye opened, shooting out a beam of red light and scanning over Delbert's body. "Well, thank you. Um, love the eye." Delbert replied, glancing down and covering his lower area, before the light from Silver's eye disappeared.
"Uh, this young lad and lady are Jim Hawkins and Sophia Iris." Delbert said, tugging Jim and Sophie up closer for introduction and hastily backing away.
After briefly glancing back at the doctor, Jim and Sophie turned back towards the cyborg- Silver- to see that he'd approached them and held his robotic arm out for a handshake, the razor sharp utensils in place of fingers pointing out and making them jump back a bit. "Jimbo, Sofi. Ah," Silver greeted, chuckling once he noticed the mode of his hand, swiftly switching out the sharp knives for his normal skeletal-like hand with pads on the fingertips.
But neither Jim nor Sophie shook his hand. Jim glared mistrustfully a the mechanical prosthetic, then up at Silver. Sophie just glanced back and forth at the cybernetic limb, then up at Silver with a cautious aspect.
It troubled the ravenette to catch sight of a small glint of familiarity when she looked into Silver's organic eye, and he seemed to almost be examining hers for a brief moment.

Distance Learning Week 2: Quotes in The Lovely Bones BY Alice Sebold— Chapters 4-11
                                                                            Lilanie Montoya
1. “My mother’s eyes were oceans, and inside them there was loss (Pg 43).”
Susie uses this metaphor to compare her mother’s eyes to “oceans.” Like an ocean, she saw that there was something much more deeper and mysterious when you looked into them. Susie also describes how ”there was loss” in them, referring to how one can be lost at sea or mesmerized by its beauty. Susie’s father, Jack coined the nickname “ocean eyes” for his wife which the rest of the Salmon family find befitting.
2. “I stood alone in a sea of bright petals. On Earth, the snowflakes fell soft and blameless, a curtain descending (Pg 57).”
I found this quote quite beautiful because it allows me to imagine a scene similar to the end of a theatrical play when the audience has thrown dozens of flowers at the leading lady which cover the stage then the curtain finally closes, signalling the end. This quote is also a metaphor that compares the snowfall to a closing curtain. It can also be a metaphor illustrating the end of Susie’s life being like the ending of a movie or play.
3. “The guilt on him, the hand of God pressing down on him, saying, You were not there when your daughter needed you (Pg 58).”
This quote recognizes the theme of grief that all the Salmon family members experience over the death of Susie. Susie’s father, Jack undergoes feelings of guilt which weigh him down as a daily reminder of the fact that he is still living and that he was unable to protect his daughter. The metaphor used to compare his guilt to the pressure of God's hand on him also reflects how he continues to judge himself, similar to God’s judgement at the time of death.
4. “Nothing is ever certain (Pg 27).”
Although this quote is very short and simple, it carries a truth about life. The fact that nothing can ever be truly known refers to life’s inevitable change. Even if you assume that you won’t change, tomorrow or even within the next hour, your life may derail and follow a path you hadn’t thought of before. Ultimately, this quote allows its readers to recognize that no matter how much you prepare for something, there are millions of possibilities of how your assumed outcome can change.
5. “My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973 (Pg 1).”
This is the very first sentence and most important moment of the novel. As the readers continue through the book, it is a clear fact that the whole story revolves around Susie’s death which also ties the themes of grief, reminiscence, love, death and family together. This quote is straight to the point and is able to grasp the attention on the readers right from the start.
6. “What did dead mean, Ray wondered. It meant lost, it meant frozen, it meant gone (Pg 111-112).”
At this moment, Ray dawns on the true meaning of death which touches on the themes of grief, death and reminiscence. On the day of Susie’s funeral, in his own way, Ray lets her go. Referring to his definition, Susie is lost on Earth, since the location of her body is still unknown and in Heaven, she feels like she doesn’t belong there since her loved ones were taken away from her. Susie is frozen at the age of 14 resulting in her never able to grow old, she also remains as a frozen memory from the past by her loved ones. Lastly, Susie’s body has left their Earth— from the world of the living and is gone.
7.“...when the teachers asked Samuel what he wanted to be, he would say: “I don’t know. I just turned fourteen (Pg 114).”
I can personally connect to this quote. When I was going into high school, I got the question “what career are you going to pursue once you graduate?” from many of my relatives and in all honesty, I replied with “I’m not really sure.” Similar to Samuel’s response, I felt like it was odd to make a child barely over 10 years old to make such an important life decision so early.
8.“A father’s suspicion…” she (Ray Singh’s mother) began. “Is as powerful as a mother’s intuition (Pg 87).”
I chose this quote because I felt like it displayed the theme of love a parent has for their child. In this quote, Susie’s father talks about how he suspects Mr. Harvey is Susie’s murder to Ray’s mother. She supports his suspicion through this quote by hinting that a parent's connection to their child is the strongest bond that can never lie. This shows how they came to a mutual agreement considering the fact that they are both parents and are willing to do anything for their children.
9.“It was grandma Lynn who did the most important thing that day. During the final hymn, as my family stood, she leaned over to Lindsey and whispered, “By the door, that’s him.” Lindsey looked over… Lindsey thought she recognized him. Their eyes locked. Then she passed out (Pg 112).”
At this moment, Lindsey recognizes who the suspected murderer of her sister is. This is a pivotal point in the novel because now that Susie’s killer is known to Lindsey, she finally has a lead towards finding out what happened to her sister. At this point, we are able to sense that change is about to happen since Lindsey’s character is very ambitious and will likely take action after this point.
10. “This is just a temporary hell, not a permanent one (Pg 82).”
This quote contains a life lesson that can be interpreted in a couple of ways. This quote also reminded me of the Bible verse Romans 8:18. One way I interpreted it to say was that your present sufferings are only temporary. Another lesson I took from it is that all life on Earth/”hell” is only temporary (since everyone dies inevitably) and that by entering Heaven, you are released from your anguish.
11.“The possibility of my cutting first period and hiding backstage in the auditorium was, until that day, as remote as the smartest girl in our class being bawled out by the discipline officer (Pg 77).”
I chose this quote because it showcases a side of Susie, telling us that she always follows the rules. This is a clue that hinted her parents into realizing that something had happened to her when she hadn’t made it home before dark on the night of her murder. I can also relate to this trait because I believe it would also seem impossible for me to cut class.
12.“My father wrote, “Leah?” in his book. Then he wrote, “Sofie?” Though unaware of it, he began a list of the dead (Pg 66).”
I chose this quote because it was shocking to uncover this detail about the murders that Mr. Harvey has committed. I found the fact that he tells people that his wife has passed away then fakes her name and uses the name of a girl he has killed before to be very morbid. Even though, Susie’s father didn’t know this at the time, I felt like this quote foreshadows the possibility of Mr. Harvey being the answer to the unsolved missing/murder cases in their town.

-Look at this alien hands.
If there’s one thing you must know about me, is that I like to use my hands to make art, and I include them into my work a lot.
I believe it’s the thing I have took more pictures in my life. More than my cat, I swear. I used to hate my hands because they were so skinny and bony, but from the moment I started taking pictures I saw that they were pretty photogenic. Since then, I don’t hate them no longer

Send me “OMG YES” if I’m one of your favorite blogs!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
@ustrinamor Mari. Mari listen. I’d been admiring you from afar before we started writing together and omgggg I love your writing so much! And the way you portray your muses, just *CHEF KISS*!!! You do such an incredible job, it’s breathtaking!!! Thank you for gracing my dash with your beautiful portrayals, and thank you for writing with me ;;
@movieactorcage Saraaa! *hugs and twirls* You’re such a sweetie! I love the way you portray your muses, especially Johnny, my poor hurt soul ;n; I’ve had a blast with our threads! Thank you for writing with me. Keep being awesome! :D
@rollingsnowsmasher Where do I even start with you omg. Beckowski, you’re a LIGHT on my dash. A light in my life. You have such a beautiful soul, so full of love! And the way you write Itsuki is just beyond amazing. Admittedly I don’t know much about her lore, but you’ve given me enough with your portrayal to make me adore her. You’ve been nothing short of a wonderful friend, and I adore you. Thank you for sticking with me all these years! ILYSM!
@enenraed DARK! You made me love Smoke so much? Like, to be honest, I never cared much for the character, but you gave him so much life and beauty, he’s become a definite fav. You took a character that had very little to work with and made him your own, and that’s honestly amazing. Not just that, but your Noob Saibot is so GOOD? I got goosebumps when you write him? Like damn! Keep up the wonderful work, Dark! And remember that ILY!
@pxlariis Sofi, my little snowflake! I’m so glad we’ve crossed paths again. I remember when you were first writing Frost: she was so good, but now? She’s beyond incredible. You’ve developed her so much, and given her so much depth. You’re so much fun to talk to, always making me laugh. You’re so important to me, okay? ILYSM!!!

Tanya Rakh: This Is Infinity Breathing
tap
(EXCERPT FROM HYDROGEN SOFI )
a spine to its forget-me-not fluid:
I want your every hurricane
I leave you piles of limestone
walk home in sheets of fog
I swallow all your waters
we intertwine silk and silver
in my thin-skin night twitches
we are the warm candy blood
this is infinity breathing
***
fate, princess, says the knight as he holds out his hand. princess takes that hand and eats all his jeweled enchantments, sings dew songs as she crunches. wraps her precious sunrise a blanket around his castle, dives from towers now and then, catches squirrels in the night trees
everything here smells like apple core
I’m dizzy and the sidewalks are wet paint and
I swallow my own lungs again
trying out the backstroke
warm, princess, warm days are fading fast don't deny it your lips are gonna split so deep this time. the clean razor shine of winter on our smooth necks, we walk through cold aquamarine cities, a cloaking dream. all dimensions in our footsteps, each snowflake an open galaxy
***
until the dead rains cloud over
and our mouths fill with crystal
let’s rupture these pitch caves
bloody and seamless
the shine, angel,
your feathered hands
tundra
my sweet bone socket
(my live firefly)
my salt,
I am a battery
(sweetest, ugliest yes)
I sweat in stitch and hemline
(your hemline jaw)
our lanterns all glow here,
fry up the dead girls
***
animals in our eyes
highways to
black horizon
(stone)
white forest
(moss)
a big river
always a big river and the serpent trees
don’t know how many crumble here, exactly
(exactly, Arachne)
gods require tender care,
the hands and impediments and
something else
the violet blood of something else
the stream,
river gutting through your
orange eyes
***
(all froth and steam, you lie in pieces on the riverbed,
newspapers swirl our winter streets)
every ice pleased with its perfect execution
every light watching (candle witness)
every crack in our metallic sidewalks
that vapor . . .
I spin you to your wind knees,
smooth arms
arms at least, moon,
whatever you call your lovers
light has never cared
dark only cares because it’s restless
you pierce through multitudes in a wash
***
crack me open underneath this winter
this thick, inescapable frost
chills bend my knuckles,
pulse my toes,
you always call me that thing
that stings most
incantations again
black gold and impossible
(a glowing record)
frost tangles
***
(never stop introducing
your live ghosts to your dead ones
they love each other and need to sleep)
never tell me your ghosts are sorry
they’re not sorry
they love every fall
Tanya Rakh was born on the outskirts of time and space in a cardboard box. After extensive planet-hopping, she currently makes her home in Wisconsin where she writes poetry, surrealist prose, and cross-genre amalgamations and works as a professional manuscript editor. Her writing often explores the interplay between the lyric and the visceral in imagery, form, and rhythm. Her poetry has appeared in the journals Bywords and Occasional Brilliance and is guest featured in the collection Used Wings by Tissy Taylor. Tanya has just finished her first book, Hydrogen Sofi, which she hopes to publish this year.

What I know about Investing in 2022 in 60 seconds.
1. The stock market sucks right now. Inflation, war, rising interest rates = less investing, etc. Last year it grew ridiculously and now it’s coming down from the high.
2. Apps are where it’s at. Fidelity, Webull, Moomoo, etc. have promos to get free stock and other sign up bonuses. You can purchase, track, and research in most apps. Some fees from the platform and government may be good research fodder but are generally not a big issue under $5000. So far the best promos for me were webull (promo link:
https://a.webull.com/ga6a1t5e188t88Lok9) My free stocks wre about $60 worth but the app has the most high verification sign up options since it has the pro investor options. But cash app was the simplest and easiest to start with. SoFi was a nice middle ground and also has a robo advisor account option. Haven't been impressed with my robo advisor but I like the idea.
3. Don’t want to research = Purchase an ETF aka Exchange Trade Fund or Mutual Fund managed by pros to follow a group of products. Vanguard S&P 500 (VOO) = Vanilla. Top stocks indexed into a fund managed by a pro to match the top company growth. You won’t be a millionaire but you can keep up with market growth and leave it alone.
4. Do want to research = Follow Warren Buffet’s advice and invest in things you know. Companies you worked with, used their services or products, researched previously out of interest, etc. IPOs are the high risk/reward intro of a stock that could climb or plummet.
5. There’s all kinds of math to estimate growth and market value that the pros are using. Just get an app that tracks crap like the PEG ratio and if a stock is under or over valued to estimate growth for you and save yourself the headache if you’re that “invested.” See what I did there. Wink wink. I'm trying Simply Wall St app and so far I like the snowflake charts and breakdowns. Going to have to see how it does after the premium trial expires.
6. Invest early if not big. The overall market grows exponentially and even if the market is crashing, then it means a cheap buy in. You may lose short term but get some ETFS or a few companies you trust and leave it alone for a few years. It'll probably double down while you're not watching. It's like the investment version of finding laundry money after cleaning a lint trap but you were a filthy heathen that left it alone too long and the money reproduced itself.
7. Don’t cash out for a year or worry a lot about when to cash out unless it's a high risk investment and you want to live your life like that. Short term gains (aka less than a year) from selling a stock are taxed much more heavily. Waiting is the top stock strategy.

Snowflake Book Review’s
Title: Rescuing the Bad Boy(Second Chance #2)
Author: Jessica Lemmon
Pages:432
Snowflake Rating:❄❄❄❄(4/5)
Synopsis: For Donovan Pate, the lake town of Evergreen Cove is a minefield of tough memories—including the day he had to let go of Sofie Martin. Years later, he still can’t forget the taste of her lips and the feel of her killer curves. He knows he’s too damaged, that he should stay away for her own good. But what the head says and the heart wants are two very different things… Seven years ago, Donovan broke Sofie’s heart. Now her career depends on playing nice in order to pull off the charity fundraiser of the decade. She vows to keep things professional…yet working by his side every day doesn’t make it easy to fight temptation, and it isn’t long before she finds herself falling for this bad boy all over again. But loving Donovan means helping him face his past–so they can fight for a future together.

It’s been decades since Sofi stopped to smell the frozen roses. She’s so caught up in planning winters years in advanced that she forgets to actually exist in her season. Can she look at a snowflake and just admire its beauty and not analyze every detail of it? Who knows.

-The Fake Hat.
You may think this matching genuine range of colors was set up. Well I have to give the lie to that. I was walking around with my camera and some mates when I saw someone sitting in that table, and when they got up I saw this magestic magic hat. “IT FITS” I said, as I took their place, realizing that my clothes matched the architecture. So I guess I can call it a portrait of me, by my beloved progenitor.
