What About Us? A friendship psychic reading.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LEFT (1-3)
RIGHT (2-4)
The friendships we create are the ones most needed in our time of growing up and finding who we are in this world. For some of you, your new friendship group is coming. For a lot of you, current friendships need relearning, reshaping, and refocusing. There may be something going on under the surface, and will prepare to bloom soon come. Since this is the summer months, I would like to do something for friendships as love is always on our minds, but a platonic love that touches the stars is always certainly going to be harder to find <3
Anywho, without further a due. We can get started. So I hope you picked which one you feel the most called too. Lets begin ;)
Group 1 : This is for us. The beginning to the End.
If you have picked the one, its time to start a new friendship with someone new. You could be getting ready to go back to school in august, you could also be in groups (text chats, social media groups, volunteer groups, etc.) and this will be how you meet this new friend. You guys could go to the same school, university, job, career, or you could have found them when you were going to a concert, a park, event. you get my drift. This new friendship is going to cost you the old one, because they need time to figure out for themselves what they are lookin for in love, romance, friendship etc. and you could also be in a romantic partnership but also needing more platonic love to hit your corner.
All in all, this new found friend could be a soulmate of some sort. you guys just get it. Y'all know what y'all like and you guys pat each other on the back from time to time. It seems like you guys have known each other for ages, but its only been a few weeks/months.Plan a date with this person and see where things lead! Go shopping, go out to eat, go to a flower shop. Being spontaneous is how you'll meet.
Keywords: 111, Santa's Hat, 333, Bunnies, Awareness groups, Veterinarians, Poem, Talent shows, Concerts, Zodiac signs, Remember, Museums, Poetry nights, Sculpting, Movies, Fun nights, 666- Venusian pleasures, More life, Jumping for joy, Leo, Moon, Flowers, Pottery & Puppets.
Number sequences, 111, 333, 666, 717, 999, 1010
Group 2 : Crossroads, More to come in the Future.
So with this group, there is going to be a need to explore out of your home state, or maybe you may go to their home state. If you guys have been feeling bored this summer, then maybe its time to plan a trip somewhere like going camping, going to the river, or simply finding joy in new spaces. I feel a rekindle coming up for this group as well. Some of you may have to forgive somebody and vice versa. There could be a familiarity with this group, and the type of friends you want for yourself can come in the near future if you act more confident and free.
The more bold you are, the more the right people notice you, and then a friend group can commence.
Keywords: Crossroads (movie), Tumblr girl, Pizza dates, Online buddy, Road trip!!, Computers, Classroom, Video games, Anime, Donkeys, Cheetahs, Dragons, Beyonce.

Group 3: Where the wind goes, I'll become of you.
This is a beautiful connection! It's like a hippie type of love between the two of you. Just vibing with the waves, and not carrying where it takes you next.
You guys have a capacity to know what each other is thinking, a type of telepathic connection. A long lasting platonic energy between you and them. Gifts, talents, and abilities skyrocket when your with them because they boost your self esteem and help you along the way. This friendship group needs no reshaping, just simply being able to enjoy each others presence every time they meet.
Keywords: 1111, dream reality, riding around town, enjoying each others company, mountains, hike trails, forgiveness, compassion, 'im having the time of my life', 19 years old, cannabis, margaritas, dancing the night away.
Number sequences: 111, 222, 1111.
Group 4 : Let's have a girls night !
This group really needs to let go and let there hair down. Its time for a nice night with the ladies. You may need to get something off your chest, and thats what friends are for! You gotta get up out your comfort zone, and try hanging with your friends a lil while longer, you never know what can happen when you guys are together!
Keywords: Luxury dates, Club hopping, Sleep overs, Wine, Boy problems, Pajamas, Girls trip (movie), Cabin trip, Banquet, Movie nights.

hello!! same person as the read more opddmh ask, off anon now (accidental click hiding my identity permanently. alas) and wow you have fed me so well oh my god. ive been rereading really focusing on that lens and im going absolutely NUTS!! hope you don't mind if i ask another question im just so hooked. r there any dynamics youve especially enjoyed exploring, or hope you get a chance to explore further/introduce?
KOZUELOVEMAIL !!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU.
referring to this post talking about this fic :]!! again going to put this under read more LMFAOO
ohhhhhh my god ok so first of all i know its probably the obvious answer since they are like. the very first people to get introduced in the fic but ive loved writing makoto and miu hgfdbshfjbg i think it started when i was writing lgowab and there were a couple of scenes between them in that fic?? i just remember makoto being this sort of calming and influencing presence to miu, who if youve read that fic definitely needed somebody calm around her lmfao. writing miu in THIS fic im always trying to keep in mind how she would act around adults rather than kids her age and i thought it was important for her to have somebody """""""stable""""""" (worlds BIGGEST asterisk on the stable part) that's able to empathise with her. and on the other hand, i thought it'd be neat for somebody that's wild as hell like miu to be interacting with this version of makoto, since he's sort of lost a lot of his youth to the company he works for :] in a way theyre able to balance each other out. theres still a lot of learning the both of them have to do, miu has a long way to go in terms of trust and makoto is still unable to prioritise his own feelings rather than everybody elses, but theyre certainly getting there!! :] never thought one of my favorite dynamics would be rowdy teenage girl picked up off of the streets interacting with jaded "ultimate hope" but here we are....
very excited to keep going with mikane SOOO excited for them. theres this unspoken codependency that both of them have with each other even if they refuse to admit it. mikan is the ONLY person akane talks to from her class and seems to be the only person she interacts with at all. but on the other hand, mikan relies on akane to be that stability for her, and has to believe in akanes act because of this. i make sure to frequently reference how mikan is worried about akane in her pov and vice versa, because even if they aren't together they're still thinking about the other :] they care about each other so so much, but both of them have this unexpressed reliance on the other for their own personal wellbeing that, again going back to the danganronpa of it all, has a lot to do with their own personal traumas. im trying not to make it super duper heavy handed or anything just yet but it will be explored later on when they finally reunite!!!!!!!!!!! :] writing for mikane can be so funny sometimes especially with akane who is constantly like "yeah mikan is the only person i think about most of the time lol. platonically tho. im not gay"
AND honestly this unspoken dependency sort of applies to naegiri too, even if it is even less stated-- even if makoto and kyoko have other people to turn to in the rare event they DO want to talk about their feelings, theyre still relying on the other for some kind of stability. so even if they are both extremely aware that the other is lying to them in some capacity there will always be worry coming from both sides, which hopefully will get elaborated on later when we get to the peak of makotos arc :D
OHHHH MY GOD BYAKUYA AND MIU TOO. OBSESSED WITH THEM. both of them are such assholes i loooovveeee writing about their whole deal. they are both so so aware of their morality in comparison to somebody like makoto who is just so objectively good that its difficult not to question their standing and why he would want to hang around them. but they are so funny together because miu can not stand how uptight he is and byakuya would actually for real rather kill himself than admit he wants to be friends with her they are everything 2 me
gfshdghgfs as im writing this im realising there are SO MANY i want to explore but i dont want to keep you here forever and ever LMAO so ill try to make this quick first of all. i love exploring angie and kirumi's dynamic. theyre both in different stages of denial, even if kirumi tries to pretend like she isnt. soooo much of kirumi is driven by guilt it is insane, guilt that now EXTENDS to angie because of the whole riot thing. and angie oooughhgh angie. ive got scenes for these guys already written out that i cant waiiiitttttt for
both rantaro and ryoma mirror akane in different ways so im looking forward to their moments as well!!! don't know if i should be elaborating on that because it's very very possibly a spoiler LMFAO but just know things are going to happen. they are definitely going to happen
makoto and junko are also very fun :] still foils to each other but at the same time grossly similar in the way they are exploited by the company. also they hate each other. love writing them
alright im practicing restraint. going to stop now THANK YOU AGAIN SORRY THIS IS SO LONG!!!!!!!! I JUST LIKE TALKING ABOUT THINGS THANKS AGAIN :]] <33

Hiya! I'd like a matchup for Genshin Impact. My name is April and I use she/they pronouns. I don't have much of a preference on gender. I would prefer not to be matched up with Childe & Zhongli (I've always viewed them more familial than romantic).
As for my personality, I'm a very quiet individual unless I'm comfortable around the person (then I have trouble being too loud at times). I am very socially anxious, so it takes me a while to open up around someone and not second guess my every move around them. I also get anxious about things in general (especially important phone calls and other things involving talking to people).
I'm also very imaginative (I'm an INFP if that helps). I also really like caring for others and making them happy. My hobbies include writing, singing, playing music (piano & violin), baking, reading, and cross-stitching.
My love languages are physical touch and gift giving and I am a hopeless romantic. I am a sucker for romantic picnics, especially paired with either cloud watching or stargazing. (So I guess that'd be my ideal date :3) I'm also a sucker for pet names (particularly darling).
I collect candles and stuffed animals (my bed is mostly stuffed animals at this point). I love painting my nails all sorts of colors and think it'd be really cute to paint your partner's nails and vice versa.
For dislikes… It's a little hard to think of them. I don't like alcohol much (though the character drinking doesn't bother me). Beyond that, I don't really know what to put…
I never know what to say for these, so I hope this is enough! Thanks!
This is totally enough info!! Hope you enjoy your match up!!
Tumblr media
Your match is Kuki Shinobu!
i’m gonna refer to shinobu as kuki in this because as partners i’m assuming you two would be on a first name basis
kuki likes how you aren’t a super loud person, it’s extremely refreshing considering who she hangs out around *Itto* but she likes to listen to you talk too
kuki is a very caring person too though she doesn’t care for their happiness as much as their safety. you two are the cute couple that’s always ready to help somebody out
she really likes how creative you are, she especially enjoys listening to you play/sing after she’s had a stressful day
kuki’s has similar tastes when it comes to romance, some cute and fluffy one on one time where you can just look at the sky and basks in each other’s presence
kuki would never admit it but she would love to have her nails painted by you, she thinks it’s so cute!!
“Hey. I tied Itto up so he shouldn’t give me trouble for a little while, let’s go do something fun.”

Hiya! I just saw your recent post about the dorm leaders finding mc attractive. Could you do the vice housewardens (specifically Jamil)?
well, normally I wouldn't be able to do Jamil, but for you nonnie, I can make an expection.
so, the count will be (vice housewarden of my heart) ruggie, jade and Jamil.
🍉 Ruggie Bucchi 🍉
Tumblr media
he knows you, the ramshackle prefect. a' course he does. after you ruined the entire plan of his dorm, it's expected for him to get a little pissed at you, don't you think?
and he does, for a while, but when he sees how hard you work- be it for Crowley or Grim; heck, even for the unruly Heartslabyul duo. truly, sometimes he sees you do things he can't and he's all '...huh.' in an 'I'm impressed.' tone, but you won't see it for a while.
nay, these glimpses of unexpected dedication turn into once-in-a-while feelings, and slowly but surely, Ruggie's admiration for you grows, well enough that he can now casually talk to you while doing his own thing. it's become commonplace for you to either drop into Savanaclaw just to help/hang with him or vice versa.
this is the turning point for Ruggie, and he both hates and loves it. he loves it 'cuz it gives him such a tingle, like electricity courses through him and it gets him so fizzy about you. bad thing is, it's NOT the ideal state to work, combined with his now constant thoughts of you.
still, the love outweighs the hate. the things your crush does to you...
🍉 jade leech 🍉
good luck ever finding out when he starts noticing you because this man's poker face is always game 24/7. seriously, will you ever find out? no.
Tumblr media
jade's already noticed you at the beginning of book two when you were doing interviews with the Heartslabyul members. a magical student, now tasked with finding out the mystery behind the injured students? Crowley makes great use of his authority over you.
he's fully expecting you to fail, but when you don't, and instead you foil Leona's plans? now he's intrigued. a magicless student, with mediocre talents, able to combat Leona's wits... a sight to behold.
he actively seeks you out when you're nearby, striking up a conversation when he can to watch your facial expression twist and turn. like his twin, jade enjoys seeing how people react- especially when they wear their hearts on their sleeve. however, unlike his twin, jade is far more sadistic.
his words cut deep, and the eery grin that's always present on his face makes a great combination in scaring people, but... even if you're scared, you say things that amuse him.
what's that, you're interested in his terrarium hobby? he wastes no time bringing you to his room, fully in the belief that you'll try to budge out of it... and you do, but once you're in, you're submerged and get genuinely curious about it- and to an extent, about him. doesn't that just thrum your heartstrings right?
hoo boy, he's going to be all up on you now, in his calculated way. have fun~
🍉 Jamil viper 🍉
Jamil doesn't have time to be interested in somebody- he's on a job 24/7 and school to boot, you think he's got the time to be into someone?
Tumblr media
yeah, he does... you. Jamil swears he isn't a masochist, but here he is, pining over you when he neither has the time or energy to pursue it further.
let's rewind a bit. he's only started noticing you after his OB, and wowwww have you always been this cheery? seriously, one happy-go-lucky person in his life is enough, he doesn't need another one.
except, you take your time to understand him. except, you offer genuine help even when he refuses; you're very persistent. except, you force him to relax and take care of Kalim for a bit to let him chill out. except, except, except... the list starts turning into maybe's, then yes's.
And now we're back in the present. woo! congrats, he now constantly feels nervous when he's in your presence and there's not a thing he can do about it! he's never been so glad for his hoodie to hide his face anytime he blushes (which is often, btw).
he gifts you his food and even his help with the limited time he has, but even that gets his heart racing, 'cuz you just end up spending time with him instead.
he can't risk Kalim knowing, so read him, just like you always do, okay? he doesn't just do this for anyone, after all.

I'm gonna hit you with two....
I'd like to request a love languages for:
Nix/Roe (I dunno it just speaks to me)
Lieb/Grant
Ok, so I had a bit of a Think and I came up with some stuff-- under the cut, though, because it got long.
Nix/Roe (truly a rare pair, though I'm not mad at it, just pleasantly confused)
The thing is, love languages don't change just because you're with a new person. Not right away, anyway. Nix's giving love is very much still gifts and his receiving love is still quality time. And Roe's giving and receiving love is still acts of service.
But Nix has always been somebody who compromises quite easily-- with Roe, his love languages become quite malleable. He isn't stubborn at all, despite what he likes others to believe. And he does take care of people a lot, though he never makes a big show of it and doesn't like it when others call attention to it.
He takes care of Roe (acts of service) and is very subtle about it. Roe sees it all the same, and even through the haze of being needed by everyone, he sees it.
His gift giving also kind of takes a different form-- instead of gifts that remind him of Roe, he gives Roe gifts that would help Roe take care of everybody else. Which are the gifts Eugene prefers.
And he wants to reciprocate, he really does, but like I said before-- he's a little clumsy in love languages that don't come naturally to him.
Which would be so funny, oh my god, can you imagine.
He tries to words of affirmation. It comes out awkward. Even in French. "You look... nice," is not as romantic as you think it is Eugene.
He tries physical touch. Nix is confused because? Sorry, you want it now? Here? No, Nix, he just wanted to hug you but if you're offering--
He tries gift giving and... oh it's so funny. Nix is so so confused, what is he going to do with a porkpie hat in the middle of a war? He can deal with the occasional cup of rationed coffee or maybe a stray piece of chocolate, but Eugene tries so hard to make it grand because Nix comes from money and he's got it in his head that maybe Nix misses that somehow? No, Eugene, he doesn't, but thanks for the hat.
He tries quality time but is... so so jumpy. And that's where the road gets bumpy, because quality time is Nix's receiving love language and it leaves him a little sad that Eugene doesn't seem to enjoy his presence as much.
That's not true, of course, it's just that Eugene is so used to being called on or being needed all the time that when he gets some peace and quiet, the repressed anxiety just... bubbles up.
Luckily for them, when Nix finds that out, he switches to caretaker mode, which is their compromise.
Nix takes care of him by helping him forget the world for a bit, and Eugene gets to spend time with Nix.
Lieb/Grant (honestly, idk why there isn't any more of this pairing. personally, I prefer them as friends but they make more sense ship-wise than the crackship that is Webgott (don't come for me ya'll you know it's true), so this wasn't difficult)
They are inseperable.
Like seriously.
Quality time is their receiving love language. It's Lieb's giving love language (alongside acts of service and physical touch, but out of the three, quality time wins), and as I said before, Chuck's giving love language is malleable.
But because it is malleable and because Lieb thoroughly takes advantage of this fact, they just are... never apart.
If you want the Lieb, you look for Chuck and vice versa.
And like. Alright. So I know this post is a love language post so we should talk about what the love languages of the boys are but I'm going to go on a tangent and talk about what Chuck's receiving love languages aren't and I'm telling you it's acts of service.
Which is hell when Lieb comes back to him to take care of him after that bullet in Austria (shhhhh Lieb doesn't disappear after the war what're you talking about he's fine)
So they fight a little bitterly about it because Lieb wants to take care of Chuck, not because of some selfish need to feel loved or feel needed, but because Chuck actually needs help. Chuck refuses to see that, though, and would prefer to be let alone.
They manage to find a compromise but... by accident?
Like, Lieb found that if he disguises taking care of Chuck as quality time (i.e. talking to him while he exercises Chuck's paralyzed left arm, gladly dragging Chuck to the store to run errands and sneaking in his prescribed walking miles, or getting in the bath with Chuck to help him wash and then play it off as wanting to have shower sex), Chuck actually lets him do whatever he likes.
Chuck is none the wiser. And if he is, he doesn't care because he feels very loved and very comfortable and would rather not move from this weird ass hostage situation Lieb has somehow orchestrated. It makes me laugh.

obi-wan kenobi fluff alphabet
based off of this original post! if you guys want to see another star wars/marvel character, drop a message in my inbox :D
Tumblr media
a - activities - what do they like to do with their s/o? how do they spend their free time with them?
obi-wan would sit and watch paint dry for hours if he was with you. he doesn’t care what you guys do, as long as you’re together. however, he does particularly enjoy training with you, especially when you both get competitive. he also loves going for long walks, particularly at sunset, when you guys can just talk about everything and nothing.
b -beauty - what do they admire about their s/o? what do they think is beautiful about them?
as a jedi, obi-wan automatically admires things like patience and understanding, but especially passion. he loves when his s/o has a fiery passion to do something, whether it’s for a cause or to complete a task.
c - comfort - how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
obi-wan can usually sense your emotions through the force, so he’s very aware of what you’re feeling. if he’s not with you, he’ll reach out to you and try and talk to you - it’ll be calming words, sometimes ones of advice. if he’s with you, he’ll sit you down and hold you. if you want to talk about it, he’s all ears, but he’s also more than happy to just lay with you.
d - dreams - how do they picture their future with their s/o?
this is a tricky one because given the circumstances, obi-wan can never plan any definitive - his job is unpredictable and he barely knows what he’s doing in the next week. with that said, the one thing he is certain of is that wherever he ends up, he wants you with him.
e- equal - are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
your relationship is definitely one of equals. obi-wan is so big on communication and talking and being on the same wavelength as you is very important to him. with that said, he is a jedi master and spends most his time instructing other people so he can over-step a little sometimes, but he’s very quick to notice and act on it.
f - fight - would they be easy to forgive their s/o? how are they fighting?
again, obi-wan is so big on the communication front and he urges you to talk things out rather than argue. with that said, fights are kind of inevitable in any relationship and they do happen; if he’s in the wrong, he’ll always apologise quickly and if you’re the one he feels is in the wrong, he’ll explain why and it’s not long before a compromise is reached.
g - gratitude - how grateful are they in general? are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
he is the KING of gratitude. he is so aware of everything you do for him and obi-wan is so focused on making sure you know it. (side note: some of his methods of appreciation™ belong in the other kind of alphabet)
h - honesty - do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? or do they share everything?
obi-wan would never lie to you. he hardly has a reason to, and even if he did, his guilty conscious would make it impossible for him to do so. your relationship is your safe space and it’s an open book. you know each other better than you know yourselves (which works out quite nicely).
inspiration - did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
you turned his whole world around. before you, he’d completely shut the door on love and locked it behind him. you made him realise that he could be a good jedi and still love you.  in fact, obi-wan probably credits you for making him a better jedi; the presence of somebody else in his life made him much more rational and self-aware.
j - jealousy - do they get jealous easily? how do they deal with it?
obi-wan tries not to get jealous but he’s a human being, and it does happen. you guys can’t be open about your relationship in certain places, and that does lead to situations where somebody gets a little too close, but it’s his trust for you that trumps his jealousy. he knows that you love him and would never hurt him, and that’s enough to get him through it.
K - kiss - are they a good kisser? what was the first kiss like?
obi-wan kenobi is one hell of a kisser and nobody could convince me otherwise. he’s definitely had enough experience with it, and that only increases when he starts to learn what you like in particular.
l - love confession - how would they confess to their s/o?
it would probably take a lot for him to tell you - like, obi-wan is risking a lot and going against the very code he practices. but, once he’s convinced himself to do it, it’s full steam ahead and it’s a simple declaration.
m-  marriage - do they want to get married? how do they propose? what would the marriage be like?
it probably depends on the situation. if it was after order 66 (ouch) and you’re both adjusting to life on tatooine, he’d definitely be down for it; after everything, he’d want to settle down and you’re the only constant in his life. if you were both still at the temple, he’d be pretty content with just being with you. your relationship is extremely dedicated and important to you both, so it’s not all that different from a marriage.
n - nicknames - what do they call their s/o?
obi-wan probably uses darling, my love and my dear the most.
o - on cloud nine - what are they like when they are in love? is it obvious for others? how do they express their feelings?
he’s in a permanently good mood. anakin is probably the first to notice it; when he messes up and obi-wan is oddly pleasant about it, that’s when he realises. he’s normally an upbeat person most the time anyways, but when he’s in love, he’s like a literal ray of sunshine.
p - pda - are they upfront about their relationship? do they brag with their s/o in front of others? or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
for obvious reasons, you and obi-wan have to keep your relationship completely secret. with that said, if you guys are on a far away mission where nobody you know can see you, he’ll put on small displays of affection like intertwining your fingers or putting his hand on the small of your back.
Q - quirk - some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.
obi-wan’s connection to the force works as a connection to you (and vice versa if you’re also a jedi). it’s never in an overbearing way or a protective way, but it means you guys are intertwined in a way that’s beyond your average earthly relationship.
r-  romance - how romantic are they? what would they do to make their s/o happy? cliché or rather creative?
for obi-wan, his love for you is hidden in every day gestures. he remembers the exact way you like your caff, he’ll take note of every tiny detail of every conversation ever and he listens to you in a way you’ll never quite get over. for example, one time you mentioned you liked a type of flowers that can only be found on one specific type of planet, and six months later, he happened to be on a mission there. he returned with the flowers, which by then, you hadn’t even remembered mentioning.
s -support - are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? do they believe in them?
the man is like your own personal cheerleading squad. whatever your goal is, however big or small, he will support you through hell and high water.
t - thrill - do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? or do they prefer a certain routine?
because there’s a lot of sneaking around, you’re both kept on your toes pretty much all the time. with that said, you and obi-wan do fall into your own kind of routine together after a few years; neither of you mind. as long as you’re together, you’re happy.
u - understanding - how good do they know their partner? are they empathetic?
obi-wan knows you better than anybody. he knows your tiny mannerisms and habits and he never fails to surprise you with how much he gets you.
v- value - how important is the relationship to them? what is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
you’re literally the most important thing in his life. everything he does, he does it for you.
w - wild Card - A random fluff headcanon.
obi-wan loves to hold you at night, and sometimes it’s not even a conscious decision. there are times when you fall asleep on different sides of the mattress and wake up to find your legs tangled and his arms clinging onto you.
x - xoxo - are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
in private, hell yes. when you guys are in your quarters, he loves to hold you and kiss you. it was surprising at first because before you were together, you never would have predicted it but it’s one of your favourite things about him.
y - yearning - how will they cope when they’re missing their partner?
thank fuck for force bonds, amirite?
when you guys are apart, you can easily stay in touch because of your connection via the force. it’s nothing compared to physically being with you, but it helps tide him through the longer missions.
x - zeal - are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? if so, what kind of?
obi-wan would literally cross the galaxy and back ten times over for you. the man would do anything to keep you safe and protect you.

Anonymous asked… What is your take on Bruce Banner's love interest? Whether we’re mutuals or not, feel free to ask me about Bruce!
Tumblr media
Oh, this is a good question, and something I haven’t discussed in months. Thanks for asking it!
This version of Bruce is hopelessly in love with Betty Ross. He’ll always love her, even if they’re miles apart, and both of them have moved on and dismissed the hopes of seeing each other again. Even if Bruce were to meet someone else, his feelings for her would remain in perpetuity.
I’ve written some headcanons with someone (she's no longer on tumblr, sadly) where Bruce and Betty met in a library during their university years, and the whole dynamic was very much a friends-to-romance one. Their earlier interactions were essentially the "study buddies" kind, and I imagine it was the combination of their shared work and interests, and the comfortability in talking about that stuff, that snowballed into other conversations and ultimately, a romantic relationship. And it continued up until Bruce's accident.
This pairing has always been very special to me because, unlike the others, Betty was the first person to see a far more vulnerable side of Bruce. Bruce has always been an extremely closed-off and reticent person; he hates revealing too much about himself because he feels this information could be abused somehow; that somebody would take issue with what he was telling them, just like how Brian would react vehemently whenever he watched educational children’s television shows, or played with certain toys. Betty was the first person that Bruce felt comfortable enough to open up to, in multiple manners. Not only would he discuss Brian with her (granted, sometimes he didn’t say much, but even dropping a few tiny mentions of Brian was huge for him), but he also felt like he could simply be himself around her. He didn’t need to keep his guard up around Betty like he did around other people. He was still sky, awkward, and nerdy around Betty, but he could voice his opinions more confidently in her presence. And the adaptation I've been writing with; she’s a slightly more modern version of the character — soft and gentle, but she has a temper of her own and a tangible boldness in certain situations, and it can be a subtle juxtaposition to Bruce’s own personality at times. It’s quite lovely.
There are other aspects of the relationship, here and there, that I also love. In "The Incredible Hulk" (2008), Betty could swear that she saw some aspect of Bruce in the Hulk, and Bruce refused to accept such a possibility at first, because he believed the Hulk was a sentient and autonomous being — a belief that had grown over the years, predominantly because of his immense guilt and an unconscious desire to reduce his sense of culpability. If the Hulk somehow wasn’t him, its destructive actions were no longer entirely his fault. But after the Chitauri invasion, at which point he was able to remember his actions as the Hulk, and self-assess his behaviour in that state, Bruce realized she was correct about everything. If it wasn’t for Betty and the statement she made, he may not have fully accepted the Hulk as a part of himself — as himself, and he would’ve been stuck in denial for years. Lots of his development can be attributed to Betty, even if they aren’t in touch anymore.
Not only this, but Bruce met Betty during a time where he hadn’t experienced all his hardships with Ross. He was nowhere near as world-weary, and while he didn’t trust people much back then, either, it was better than his tendencies nowadays. In that sense, Betty is one of his last few connections to the past, and a time when he was more hopeful and innocent.
But while Bruce can control his condition now, he hasn’t reconnected with Betty. She's been in the dark ever since the Harlem incident, save for glimpses of him on the news here and there.
Bruce does want to see Betty again. He would love to see her. But he’s made some personal discoveries related to his condition that convinced him he’s not a good fit for her, or anyone in general. He doesn’t see himself as completely human anymore, which has become even more of a tangible sentiment ever since his transformations became a typical and even daily occurrence. As a result, there are some philosophical quandaries that prevent him from resuming a romantic relationship with her, or with anyone else. Given his current development trajectory, he would be the Hulk almost constantly in later verses. It’s not an ideal scenario to create a potential relationship from — especially with Betty, because he’s unable to meet some of her needs when he's the Hulk. Additionally, he cannot guarantee Betty’s safety with Ross still around, because he doesn’t know if Ross is still looking for a way to capture him. He suspects there were times in the past when Ross backed off temporarily, like after the Chitauri invasion, because capturing the Hulk at that time would have caused a huge public outcry, but nowadays, he’s unsure where Ross’ intentions lie. He's unwilling to take the risk.
All this being said, Bruce doesn’t expect Betty to remain loyal to him, or vice versa, because he understands the necessity of moving on and not dwelling on the past. It would be melancholic if Bruce discovered that Betty had met someone new, yes (this was certainly the case with Leonard Samson), but ultimately, he would be happy for her, and he’d tell himself that his own feelings don’t matter if it means she’s content and safe. Of course, there is always the possibility that Banner could reach out with letters, or another kind of communication channel. And it's possible that if Ross was gone and the world was more settled, he would meet her in-person, even if he didn't intend to restart a romantic relationship. At that point, there’s nothing stopping them from sharing their work and collaborating professionally, too. This kind of interaction could eventually become the norm. But I don’t really see their relationship shifting to a romantic one again.
So I suppose in the end, I don’t see their relationship as having a cliché happy ending, in the sense that they end up together, are happily married, and are living in their own little cottage somewhere. I see it as a mature progression from young love, to a failed effort to make things work in a terrible situation, and then an acceptance of knowing, while their situation has improved, it’s still not going to work out. And they both have the courage to run with things and make the best of it. Betty would be understanding of Bruce’s situation, as she’s always been, and in concurrence, Bruce would be happy as well, because he knows Betty can have a romantic relationship with someone who completely presents as human. They can still work together too, which is a callback to how their relationship first began in the library. And it continues to build on all the trust and confidence they initially showed each other, and continued to show each other, over the years.
So it’s very bittersweet.
I’m also going to mention the pairing of Bruce and Natasha, because I need to assert that I do enjoy this ship! As a matter of fact, it’s something I’ve enjoyed for years and years. I was one of the wierdos who was shipping them soon after the release of The Avengers, earlier than most to the point where the tag was completely blank. I guess for me, there was something unique about their dynamic in The Avengers that stood out from Bruce’s other interactions. Natasha was ordered to approach the doctor in Kolkata, and at that point, she had seen the Hulk's capabilities in-person during her involvement in the Culver University incident. Her distrust of Bruce and his alter ego was justified, especially given her personal experiences with everything, and while it may (or may not) have lessened over the course of the film, Natasha clearly came to respect Bruce at the very least, and she understood the benefits of not only putting his intellect to good use, but the Hulk itself. During the final battle, Bruce had come on his own volition and was fully prepared to transform, but she still made the active effort to tell him the Hulk was valuable. Given her past experiences with the Hulk, this meant a lot coming from her. And it's clear this wasn't just a "tactical" choice on her part; if she didn't say anything, the outcome wouldn't have been any different. This was a nice way to end the film and create a foundation for their future development between them. If their relationship continued to open up, I could certainly see them developing feelings for each other.
But the next film... Eugh. I was gravely disappointed by the sudden schoolgirl-crush syndrome that Natasha was demonstrating, which was unrealistic in itself (I'll explain my reasoning in a bit), and the total handwaving of everything that led up to it, which ultimately did nothing but break Natasha’s character and make it difficult for most of the audience to accept what was happening. Because... What initially made Natasha go from having a reluctant admiration for him, to downright falling for him? We did not see the process, or the catalysts. They had jumped from Point A to Point Y, and we saw nothing of the points in between. So the whole thing immediately fell apart for me.
A common argument I see in defense of Natasha’s behaviour is, simply put, she’s in love, so it’s natural for her to act a little kooky. However, love doesn’t have the effect of completely negating deeply-ingrained character aspects, especially fundamental traits. And Natasha has many traits that are the complete antithesis of how she was behaving in that movie. It’s the same as seeing Christopher Nolan's Bruce Wayne, a normally close-mouthed and subtle character, gushing, nudging up to, and grinning like a little boy around Rachel Dawes. It doesn’t make sense... So why is it suddenly acceptable for Natasha?
In that sense, I could also presume that Natasha’s behaviour was Joss Whedon’s misogynistic projection of how he, himself, believes a woman in love should behave. There’s a real possibility, given how Natasha was characterized in earlier MCU films, versus how she was acting in this movie, that Whedon threw out her characterization in favour of playing out a fantasy; a stereotype. And unluckily for him, that stereotype (as the word itself implies) does not fit all people or characters. So it was noticeable, and not in a good way.
And honestly... I’m disappointed that this disaster has caused so many people to discount the ship as a whole, even though that film was simply one poor adaptation of it. People also tend to dismiss the pairing because they believe Bruce and Natasha are too different. But they both have trust issues. They both have experiences where they’ve been used for other peoples’ goals. Natasha has seen a very vulnerable and intimate side of Bruce that most people never have (that look he gave her before he transformed on the helicarrier, honestly, was completely unlike the self-composure he obsessively tried to convey in all their prior interactions)... And frankly, I'm sick of hearing about the “age gap” between them, because my aunt and uncle were twelve years apart, and they were happily married for decades. Not to mention, Bruce and Natasha have been through countless hardships, and they probably have a lot more common ground than many people with an “age gap”.
So if things were properly written? That would have been phenomenal, I think. The potential was certainly there in the first movie; it’s just a shame those foundations were ignored and not directly built on.
But that’s enough salt from me!
As for this Bruce in particular... I can see him having a relationship with Natasha in the earlier part of his timeline, before the Sokovia incident occurred. There would've been a lot of opportunities for their relationship to develop, especially because Bruce wasn't just working with the Avengers; he joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and was working on the same helicarrier as Natasha for around a year, too. He would've avoided her a lot, but I can easily see Natasha approaching him eventually, or them running into each other and trying to reconcile. Especially once Bruce remembers everything that happened during the helicarrier incident, and how scared Natasha was. He had offered Natasha a brief apology during the Chitauri invasion, but after those memories were dredged up, it would suddenly become insufficient.
But during or after the Sokovia incident, I doubt they would start a relationship with each other. This is simply because Natasha caused Bruce a lot of turmoil around this time, and afterwards. She betrayed his trust during the Sokovia battle by forcing him to transform, which also worsened an issue that Bruce was currently having with his condition. Her support of the Sokovia Accords didn't help either, because Bruce was vehemently against them from the very beginning, having seen Ross’ wish to exploit the Hulk’s abilities, and he feared this would continue on a much greater scale if the Accords were ratified, with hundreds (if not thousands) of identified superhumans now vulnerable. I hesitate to say Bruce will never trust Natasha again, but while he could probably reach a tentative comfortability around her, a romantic relationship might be asking too much. There’s simply too much negative history between them, a lot of which entails broken trust. And once Bruce’s trust in someone is broken, well, it’s monumentally difficult to restore.

I saw you had a character limit, so I hope this is alright. What kind of person do you think that the RFA+Saeran (if that's alright, if not just the RFA members) would look for in a person?
Hm, well one of the things I love about MysMe is that I honestly think that any of the RFA members have the potential to fall for…well, anyone.
For example, I can see Zen with an enthusiastic genki-girl ish type, but I can honestly see him with a cool, serious girl too~
But I’ll offer some suggestions, because often in the game, aiming for certain routes means pandering to the characters, and I don’t think that’s the only personality our bois (+baehee) would appreciate.
Personal opinion, yo.
Zen
The number one quality he’d look for? Probably, he’d want someone supportive. Not necessarily someone who would always agree with him and gush over his appearance, but someone who would cheer him on and support his dream.
I don’t think Zen wants a damsel in distress. Remember, he considers himself Cinderella, not the other way around.
This doesn’t mean that he doesn’t like girls who might need more emotional support. He’s 10/10 boyfriend material – supportive, handsome, and kind. He doesn’t hesitate to provide emotional support for others.
But he’d probably admire/hold high respect for somebody independent; someone confident in themselves and willing to help other people.
He’d definitely want someone who can look past appearances. Zen, for all of his selfies, is more than just a “narcissistic model.” He’s hardworking and kind, and he would like somebody who can appreciate that.
Yoosung
The number one quality he’d look for? N/A. Yoosung’s the sort of person who doesn’t have a checklist of attributes; he’s a pretty open individual.
He would probably like someone patient, though. Someone who can listen to his troubles and offer advice.
In the same way, though, Yoosung would also be 100% alright with providing a listening ear to them, too.
He’d love someone who he could game/geek-out with. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that he has to be with someone who plays LOLOL. Yoosung appreciates traits besides gaming ability, tyvm.
Yoosung doesn’t need someone particularly smart or particularly attractive. Sure, those are always a nice bonus, but he’d just want somebody who he can feel comfortable around enough to be himself. (And vice versa. He’d want to be with someone who he can put at ease, too.)
Jaehee
The number one quality she’d look for? Kindness.
Jaehee just wants someone with a nice personality. Someone who cares for others. She doesn’t really mind if they have a hot temper or are super shy; she just cares about what’s inside.
Standing up for her to Jumin? I mean, that’s amazing; she would completely respect that. However, that’s not something that she needs: Jaehee’s a strong individual. What Jaehee needs isn’t a knight in shining armor, but a companion who might offer her hot chocolate or a hug when she’s feeling down. Once again, kindness.
Jumin
The number one quality he’d look for? Sincerity.
Jumin’s tired of the harlots who only flock to him because of his money. He doesn’t need somebody who panders to him. He doesn’t need a “yes sir,” or so to speak. He just wants somebody who acts out of the desire to act rather than out of necessity.
Even better if you can sass (throw some shade ey)
Liking cats? Yes, once again a heavy bonus. Shared interests are great. However, Jumin is the kind of person who would find or create shared interests for his significant other. They don’t have anything in common? Alright, fine; he’ll schedule some sort of activity they can do together. You don’t need to like cats for him to like you, dammit.
Saeyoung
The number one quality he’d look for? Versatility. Saeyoung is super flexible and would appreciate someone who can match his level of craziness and ups and downs!
But he probably needs someone who can see the positive things in life.
Humor would be a plus. Even better if they’re totally down for pranks as long as everyone gets a laugh out of it at the end.
He wants someone who can be laid back and make the best of life yet responsible and serious when they have to be.
Words they often say may be “Hey! Everything will be okay as long as you tried your best!”
He won’t admit it, but he certainly needs someone capable of taking care of him and his...diet (someone please give him a full meal)
Jihyun
The number one quality he’d look for? Strength. By that I mean inner strength.
He would admire someone who can stand up for what they believe in and do things that no one else would dare to do. Like doing what’s best for Jihyun despite what he wants.
“If you’re going to cancel your photo exhibition for my performance, then I’m gonna cancel my performance, so you can do your photo exhibition”
He needs someone who’s assertive enough to change him for the better and show him his worth
He wants someone whose strong and independent enough to support the both of them, so they can share their burdens together
Saeran
The number one quality he’d look for? Reliability.
As much as Saeran might need reassurance or love, the one thing that matters most would simply be the fact that someone is there for him.
He wants someone that’ll let him be himself. So no over-protectiveness or excessive pampering.
Instead, someone patient, thoughtful, and sympathetic would be a comforting presence, and Saeran will be more likely to open up to them. But even if they’re none of those traits, as long as they’re willing to listen and understand him, he’ll love them just the same.
With his past and all, the one of the things he needs to build back up is trust, so it’s best if he finds someone who follows through their words with actions
Bonus if they’re an animal and food lover (I can see the documentary marathon dates already)
Mod Camellia and I hope you enjoy these headcanons, anon! Keep in mind these are our own personal opinions, and we would love to hear any feedback from you guys, so feel free to comment ;)

Your name: submit What is this?
_______________
You’d been talking to Sam Winchester for over three months in preparation for your trip to America. The two of you had met in an online chat room for people interested in the supernatural, and soon after it had been discovered that both of you were hunters. You, of course, had heard all about Sam, but he’d been eager to learn all about you. Simple questions had grown into long conversations, and soon the two of you were sending messages back and forth at all hours of the day. It wasn’t long before your discussions had turned into a full-blown friendship.
Now, however, you were nervous to finally see Sam in person. He’d seemed nice enough online, but anxiety filled you as you walked through the enormous terminal towards the airport’s passenger pickup area. Sam had promised to be waiting for you when you arrived, and the thought of him being one of the first people you spoke to in America was terrifying. What if he thought your accent was funny? Or what if he was disappointed in how you looked or how your English was better when you were writing, rather than when you were speaking?
The meeting area was full of people clamoring to find their friends and family, and you frowned in frustration when you realized that you had no clue how to find Sam. He didn’t say if he’d have a sign with your name on it like so many others seemed to have, and you only had a general idea of what he looked like. Plus, it wasn’t like you just ask someone where Sam Winchester was. Nobody would know who he was, and if they did, that wasn’t somebody you’d want to meet.
“Y/N!”
You looked up, confused. Did someone just call my name?
“Y/N, over here!”
Turning to your right, you smiled wide when you saw a tall, shaggy-haired man waving at you from behind one of the metal barriers. He was smiling from ear to ear, and you laughed when you saw that he held a piece of white computer paper with your name printed on it. It was slightly crumpled from his tight grip, but the letters on it were legible nonetheless.
“Sam?” you called as you started walking towards him, rolling your suitcase behind you. He nodded, and as soon as you were close enough, he reached out and pulled you into a tight hug. The metal fence between the two of you dug into your hips, but you couldn’t help but smile as you settled into his embrace. Hugging Sam was like being wrapped in a warm, safe blanket, and you didn’t want to let go.
“It’s great to finally meet you.” He grinned as you reluctantly stepped back and moved around the barrier.
The woman nearby gave you a strange, tight smile when you inadvertently caught your eye, and you felt your cheeks flush in embarrassment.
Does she think I sound funny?
Sam reached out and took your suitcase before you could object, then began leading you towards the parking garage.
“You too,” you replied, smiling nervously. He glanced over at you as you spoke, and you self-consciously tucked a piece of hair behind your ear. Does he think the same thing as that lady?
“How was your flight?” Sam asked.
Shrugging, you answered, “Alright. I’ve never been on a plane. I’ve never been out of my home country.” You paused. “This plane was better than the one to New York. There were many less bumps.”
Sam nodded in understanding as he stopped by a sleek black car. He unlocked the trunk and lifted your suitcase inside, then gestured for you to go around to the right side. You followed his instructions without a word, and a few minutes later, you and Sam were pulling out of the airport garage and onto a busy highway.
“Dean’s excited to meet you,” Sam told you after a while. He glanced over at you as you gave him a small, non-committal smile. As much as you wanted to talk, you really wanted to soak in as much of America as possible. Plus, the strange looks you’d received from the woman standing by Sam had made you embarrassed about your accent.
“You’re staying for a month, right?” he asked.
After slowly tearing your eyes away from the cityscape outside your window, you nodded. “Maybe.” Sam’s expression turned quizzical at your reply, but you didn’t bother to clarify your reply. “How long until we get to your home?”
“Uh, about three hours,” Sam answered, still somewhat confused by your vague answer. “You can sleep if you want. I’ll wake you up if I stop for food or gas.”
You nodded and pulled out the small travel pillow you’d bought for your flight, then positioned it between the car window and your head. You truly were exhausted, and though you normally didn’t sleep in the presence of strangers, Sam made you feel safe.
I can trust him, you thought as you closed your eyes. He’s good, and he’ll wake me up if anything happens.
Soon after, you found yourself being shaken awake by Sam. You opened your eyes again only to find yourself in a dimly lit room. There were other cars parked along the gray cement walls, and you blinked in confusion.
“Hol vagyunk?” you mumbled, rubbing your eyes as you pushed yourself up into a sitting position.
“What?” Sam asked.
It took you a second, but you realized that you’d slipped up and forgotten to speak in English with him. Sam didn’t speak Hungarian like the people you normally spent your time with.
“Where are we?” you repeated.
“We’re at the bunker. This is the garage,” Sam explained.
You looked over at him, even more confused now. The bunker?
Sam picked up on your reaction right away. He gave you a kind smile as he said, “This is where I live. It’s not a military bunker. It’s a, uh…” He held up a finger for you to wait as he pulled out his phone and quickly typed something into it. After a moment, he continued, “It’s an óvóhely. An underground shelter. It’s the safest place in the world.”
Slowly, you smiled. “Óvóhely,” you repeated. “You’re learning Hungarian.”
Sam blushed. “Not quite. I have a translation app. I figured that some things won’t translate into English and vice versa, so I downloaded it while I was waiting for you to get off your plane.”
“Thank you,” you said, leaning across the seat. You pressed a quick kiss to Sam’s cheek, then climbed out of the car and went around to the trunk. You unlatched it and pulled out your suitcase, and by the time you’d closed it again, Sam was waiting for you off to the side. His cheeks were flushed pink, you noticed with a small smile.
“Are you ready to meet Dean?” he asked.
You nodded, then hesitated. “Will he like my accent?”
Sam chuckled and held out his hand for your bag. You handed it over, watching him carefully.
“He will,” he replied. “I promise. Now come on, you’re probably hungry. When was the last time you ate?”
As if on cue, your stomach growled, and you grinned up at him. “A long time ago. Do you have food I like?”
“Probably,” Sam laughed. He tilted his head to one side, gesturing for you to follow him, then began to walk towards one side of the garage.
You followed in silence, trying to absorb all that you could. There were beautiful, old cars that you knew from Sam’s messages were a favorite of Dean, and as soon as you walked through the door that had separated you from the rest of the “bunker”, you smiled wide. The place felt like home, even though it was over five thousand miles away from your where you’d spent the entirety of your life.
“This is extraordinary,” you murmured as you followed Sam to the kitchen. He glanced over his shoulder and caught your eyes, then smiled. “I love this place!”
“Me too,” he agreed.
Still smiling, you sat down on one of the kitchen chairs Sam pointed at. He began to pull out various food items from the refrigerator, and you watched in interest as he began to make you something to eat. Something about the way Sam moved was mesmerizing, and you couldn’t force yourself to look away.
Sam was just turning around to bring you his creation when another tall man walked into the room. He looked a lot like Sam, except he had sandy, light brown hair and green eyes.
“You are Dean!” you gasped, getting to your feet.
Dean, startled, whirled around to face you. A gun was in his hands and leveled at you before you’d even had a chance to blink, and you quickly glanced in Sam’s direction, your heart pounding in your chest.
“Dean,” Sam started, “this is Y/N. She was coming to spend time with us, remember? From Hungary?”
It took a moment, but Dean reluctantly lowered the gun and tucked it back into his waistband. You let out the breath you’d been holding as soon as it was out of sight.
“I’m sorry to scare you,” you breathed, licking your lips. “I thought you would know me.”
Dean blinked. “You thought I would know you already? Why?”
You frowned, confused. Sam didn’t show him my picture? You glanced over at your friend, who pointedly looked away, and you found yourself becoming even more confused.
Dean looked between the two of you, but after a moment, he seemed to decide that whatever was going on wasn’t his problem. He shrugged and grabbed the plate from Sam’s hand, then headed out of the room, leaving the two of you alone again.
“Hey!” Sam called after him. “That was for Y/N!”
Sam’s brother’s reply was unintelligible, but you giggled anyway. It was nice to see Sam is his natural environment, where you could learn about him from the little things he did, not just from what he typed into a computer.
“I can make food, Sam,” you laughed as you got to your feet. “I’m not a… háziasszony.” You frowned, searching for the right word. “I am not a wife of house? Is that what you say?”
“A housewife,” Sam corrected, smiling.
You nodded. “I am not a housewife, a háziasszony, but I can make sandwiches! Do you want a sandwich?”
“I would love that, Y/N,” Sam replied. He leaned against the counter as you walked over and rifled through the ingredients he’d pulled out. Most of them you recognized, with the exception of a few sauces, but within a few minutes, you’d managed to make something that you could enjoy. Sam seemed pleased with his meal, as well.
Once the two of you had finished eating, Sam asked, “Do you want to get some rest and then I’ll show you around the bunker? You’re probably still tired.”
You thought about it for a minute, then nodded. You’d been travelling for almost two full days, and you’d been stifling your yawns ever since you’d arrived at Sam’s home. ‘Tired’ was an understatement.
“I’ll take you to a room,” Sam said, picking up your plate and putting it in the sink with his. “Just follow me.” He grabbed your suitcase from its spot by the door and started down the hall again, leaving you to catch up before he could get too far ahead of you that you wouldn’t be able to easily follow him.
“Are you live here alone with Dean?” you asked.
“Sometimes Cas is here,” Sam answered. “He’s the angel I was telling you about.”
Frowning, you made a mental note to look through Sam’s old messages when you weren’t so tired. You couldn’t remember a single thing about their angelic friend.
“Thank you,” you smiled when Sam finally stopped outside a door.
He nodded in response, rubbing the back of his neck. “Of course. My room is right down the hall and the bathroom is two doors to your left.”
“I’m glad to be here,” you told him. “I’m glad that we are friends. I want to become your nagyon jó barát, Sam, which is why I am here.”
“My…?”
“Very best friend,” you translated. Sam’s cheeks turned pink. “Is that okay?”
“Of course that’s okay, Y/N,” Sam quickly replied. “I’d love to be your nagyon jó barát.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at Sam’s pronunciation, and you could tell that he knew it was terrible as well. “Jó éjszakát, Sam. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he said, his voice softer. “I’ll see you when you wake up.”
_______________
Three months had passed and you were still staying at the bunker. You and Sam had grown closer and closer with each day, and four weeks after you’d arrived in America, the two of you had decided to stay together in his room. Dean had teased you mercilessly for it, but you’d never been happier.
You’d been going on hunts with them, too, and both boys had been impressed by your skills. The three of you were working like a well-oiled machine from the very start. It was like you’d been hunting together your whole life.
“Sam!” you shouted, sticking your head out the bedroom doorway. “Sam, can I come to you now?”
“Not yet!” he replied. His voice echoed throughout the hallways, as did the sounds of him moving things around in the library, and you sighed as you slumped against the doorframe. You’d been waiting for him to finish your surprise for almost half an hour, and you were getting sick of waiting.
“Türelmem fut vékony,” you muttered. Crossing your arms over your chest, you stared at the wall opposite you.
“Mit mondtál?”
You looked up to see Sam coming down the hall, a broad smile on his face. You couldn’t help but smile back; his smile was infectious and it always made butterflies stir up in your stomach whenever he spoke in your native tongue. He’d been trying to learn it, and so far he’d only picked up on a few important phrases, but Sam was a fast learner and you knew he’d catch up sooner or later.
“I was complaining, but they say, ‘Ez van, ezt kell szeretni.’”
Sam reached over and grabbed your hand, tugging you out of the doorway and down the hall to where he’d been working.
“I don’t know what that means,” he began, “but I can promise you that you’re going to love this.”
“I will?” you asked, raising an eyebrow. “What is it?”
“I can’t tell you, then it wouldn’t be a surprise!”
Laughing, you shifted your hand in his so that your fingers were laced together. You didn’t fail to notice how the corner of Sam’s lips twitched up even farther.
Only a minute later, Sam announced that the two of you had arrived at your surprise. He stopped just outside the entrance to the library and freed his hand from yours.
“The library?”
“You’ll see,” he promised. “Go on inside.”
Hesitantly, you stepped inside the library, then smiled wide. The entire room was decorated in red, white, and green, and you let out an incredulous laugh when the speaker system Sam had installed shortly after your arrival began to play traditional folk songs you remembered from celebrations as a child.
“Sam!” you laughed. “What is this? Did you make this for me? Did you make the library like this?”
He came out from the other side of the wall and entered the room with a smile of his own. “Of course I did, Y/N. I wanted to bring a part of your home here to Kansas, since you seem so dead set on staying here with me. I found out that today was a holiday back in your home country, so…”
“Nemzeti ünnep is more than part of home. It is part of me,” you replied, unable to shake the grin from your face. “Thank you, Sam. I love it. I love you.”
“Én is szeretlek,” Sam answered. He didn’t hesitate when saying the words, even though neither of you had admitted your feelings, and the realization made butterflies stir up in your stomach.
“Sam Winchester,” you murmured, stepping closer to him, “You are too…” You stopped, searching for the word.
Sam chuckled. “I’m too what?”
Shaking your head, you continued, “Kenyérre lehet kenni. It is a saying we use to say your heart is good. I love your heart, Sam. I am staying here because I love your heart.”
“My heart?”
“Home is where the heart is, yes?” you asked. He nodded in response, his smile broadening slightly. “Well, then my heart is home with you. You are my home, too, Sam.”

Yay! Analysis is back! Titanic: In Concert went well!! And yes, I am thinking up an Ed, Edd n Eddy/Titanic crossover. It’s needed!
Tumblr media
Anyway Ed grabs the cul-de-sac kids attention tearing up the football field and catapulting everyone into the air.
The football coach won’t be happy about that? Speaking of which isn’t Kevin an assistant gym teacher? Or is that only in Hanky Panky Hullabaloo. It’s implied that Kevin does not get the best grades. Like Eddy, he doesn’t see the point in school. He cares about football. It’s his passion. In order to stay on the team he has to keep a steady grade point average which stresses him out. Kevin will do anything he can do boost up his grades.
Tumblr media
I love this screenshot!
Jonny’s reaction wins! Jimmy comes is second.
Tumblr media
Ed hands out missing posters to everyone. He even places a sign on a coffee mug.
I just thought of a sad connection. In a few episodes from now Smile For the Ed takes place. Billions of copies of Eddy’s embarrassing school photo will be made and passed around to the whole school. The picture of Eddy that Ed draws is almost similar to how his school photo comes out.
Kevin and Nazz are the only ones who are in pain. And they tend to hide their pain as they don’t know how to express themselves.
Ed: I have lost my Eddy. Trip you might over him, as he is short and squirrels like to pelt him with nuts.
Do squirrels like to pelt Eddy with nuts because he stole them back in season 1? How come we never see this happen? It adds to the uncertainty regarding why all the characters dislike Eddy? Even Ed and Edd don’t understand Eddy. Big Picture Show finally clears up lingering questions if they have thought about their secretive friend.
This subject was recently brought up today regarding that Eddy’s parents know more about Eddy than anyone else. That’s understable. The family has hit a lot of rocks in the road. Eddy is still hurting from Bro whether he knows it or not. Eddy’s parents have cut off all communication via Bro.
Speaking of Bro, he is lingering the shadows of Eddy’s mind during the episode. When going back to rewatch the series after the movie I like how the creators had subtle scenes where viewers could feel his presence. He is an important part of Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Bro made Eddy feel like a nobody. By turning into somebody else Eddy believes that he can get rid of all the curel accusations Bro has either said or thought about him. Or maybe Bro has never said anything to hurt Eddy. It’s all in Eddy’s mind.
It’s not healthy to keep your thoughts locked inside your head.
Okay, you know what I just realized? Rolf didn’t take part in the dog pile!! A subtle sign that he doesn’t feel one with the cul-de-sac kids!
Also, I made a remark that Rolf is the character who never states anything negative about Eddy. Nazz and Jonny don’t say anything mean, either.
Tumblr media
Jimmy is beyond excited that his wish came true.
Weren’t you disturbed you believed your wish came true in season 3? Jimmy is a very dark character.
And Sarah quips, “Good riddance.”
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this detail but Sarah has known Eddy her whole life, most likely since she was a baby. Every Which Way but Ed reveals that Ed and Eddy have known each other since they were babies. So, Eddy has hung around with Ed only deal with baby Sarah.
Eddy has always bothered Sara, and vice versa. Unlike Kevin, Eddy wants to be on Kevin’s good side even when he knows that Kevin doesn’t like him. Eddy sees Kevin as Bro. In a way Sarah is Bro. She bosses Ed around and gets her way. That’s what turns Eddy off from Sarah! She reminds Eddy of the person he idles but had a abusive relationship with. Eddy is still trying to comes to means with his past.
In Big Picture Show Eddy and Sarah never interact! I find that strange, and yet it works pretty well. Eddy is congratulated by all the cul-de-sac kids and is accepted. Sarah hugs Ed and is seen having a conversation with Edd. Witnessing this brutal event changed Sarah. It overwhelmed her too. And she’s only a kid.
Tumblr media
I love how Eddy runs in front of Kevin to stop him. It’s so cute!
Tumblr media
I headcanon the real Eddy to be very nervous and shy. He’s not actually loud. Eddy has not yet recognised himself behind the Bro mask. It’s easy to deduce that Eddy will go through an identity crisis post BPS. The guilt chews him up making him feel angry, upset along with the many other emotions he’s kept bottled up for years. Eddy will most likely attend therapy to help cope.
Tumblr media
‘Carl’ asks who this good looking Eddy kid is.
Eddy will either disguise himself or fake his own death just to see how people really feel about him. And that is very disturbing. Eddy is not in the best mental health. Especially after growing up with Bro. It’s heavily implied that he’s a sociopath who enjoys hurting others for a laugh.
Eddy grew up very differently from Bro. His parents were mature while they may have still been teenagers at the time of Bro’s birth. Eddy is a more emotional person. Although he will go against authority he still follows it understanding right and wrong.
Side Note: Is anyone else obsessed with that little string of hair sticky out from ‘Carl’s’ attire. Eddy doesn’t care about the outer appearance. It’s all about inner. Himself. Who he is.
Wardrobe means everything to Eddy. Just look at his closet! Eddy is all about outer. He doesn’t want anybody to catch on to who he’s hiding on the inside. Nobody can know about the struggle. They won’t understand because Eddy has yet to understand.
Tumblr media
Kevin crumples up the drawing.
Tumblr media
“Don’t sweat it, Carl! Something you’ll never be! A dork!”
Who else is love with this Eddy pose? He’s so vulnerable. It does not look like a post Eddy would stand in? Again, watch the way Eddy moves once he’s Carl. He doesn’t walk with that bounce or with his hands in his pockets. A few months ago an anon pointed out that walking with your hands in your pockets reflects someone who is uncomfortable or unsure.
Eddy has always followed Bro in his shadow.
Speaking of which, we never see Bro walking in Big Picture Show. He only stands or walks offscreen. I want count the spinning around all dizzy part.
Tumblr media
Oof, the artists are amazing when it comes to expressions.
Tumblr media
“Thanks, guy!”
This delivery is similar in tone to the way Eddy masks his embarrassment in Your Ed Here. Eddy masks humiliation with a smile.

Walter McCarty has put Evansville back on the map
Tumblr media
Evansville Aces basketball was once a small college powerhouse. Walter McCarty is working on bringing that energy back.
With a little over four minutes left to play, the only fans making noise in Rupp Arena are wearing purple and orange. They have plenty to celebrate: Noah Frederking had just drained a three-point shot to extend the Evansville Aces’ lead against the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats to 61-55.
Evansville has been the better team for the entire game. A small contingent of Evansville faithful made the trip to Lexington, strategically seated in sections 36 and 236, off in the corner of the arena. As the game reaches its climax, those sections are loud enough to overpower the home crowd: “Aces! Aces!”
After Kentucky’s Immanuel Quickley’s missed three-pointer, Keion Brooks Jr. grabs an offensive rebound and lays it in to make it 61-57. But Kentucky isn’t supposed to be satisfied with trimming Evansville’s lead to four. Kids around the arena look worried, and their parents do too, even while trying to act like everything is fine.
With the score at 63-60 and Evansville in possession, the crowd wakes up, desperate for a stop. They’ve been working hard all game to try to get their team back into the contest, a testament to how good Kentucky fans are and how much trouble they’re in.
The Aces’ K.J. Riley goes in for a contested layup, misses, grabs the offensive rebound with two Wildcats over his back, and tips it in to give his team a five-point lead with 1:41 to go. The hopeful Kentucky cheers die down, replaced by a booming roar from the corner of the arena. The noise is both shocking and impressive, coming from such a tiny group of fans. Walter McCarty, Evansville’s coach, claps twice and doesn’t lose composure, immediately looking to the other end of the floor to watch his team play defense. He knows he has the Wildcats right where he wants them.
And now things are starting to feel very real: Evansville might beat No. 1 Kentucky at Rupp Arena.
McCarty, his assistants Bennie Seltzer and Terrence Commodore (better known as T.C.), and his best friend Troy White are eating Mister B’s pizza and wings in the players’ lounge on the University of Evansville campus. Their final practice at home had just wrapped up, and the team takes off for Lexington on Monday. On the TV, the 1-7 Falcons are playing the Saints.
“God dang, he’s slow,” Seltzer says of quarterback Matt Ryan after a scramble. Everybody in the room is laughing.
“I might be able to beat him in a race right now,” McCarty replies.
“Look at Matt Ryan’s face, look at the determination!” Seltzer says after a replay is shown.
Even the ability to gather in the players’ lounge, watch some football and eat in peace is a testament to the work that McCarty has done at Evansville. His players and staff enjoy being at the facility. They can relax there. It’s not rare for players to funnel in and out of his office. Their practice facility is a home for everybody involved with Evansville basketball, and McCarty wouldn’t have it any other way.
The 6’10, salt-and-pepper bearded McCarty was raised on the south side of Evansville, just on the western side of Highway 41, which runs north-south and splits the city in two. He grew up with one brother, two sisters, his mother and a stepdad who came around when he was in early elementary school.
Walter’s mother Joy worked at Eaton Axle in the assembly line across the river in Henderson, Kentucky, and would pick up waitressing at the American Legion or at a bar to make extra money for the family. His stepdad, Steven Lindsey, worked at Alcoa, an aluminum producer, and went to sleep early, having to start work at 4 a.m. When Joy was going into work, Steven was coming home, and vice versa. “[My siblings and I] weren’t alone,” McCarty says. “We were stable. But you know, they weren’t really strict.”
In sixth grade, he met Troy White while at Plaza Park in middle school, an East Side kid. The two bonded over basketball. As they got older, their relationship developed, and now they’re damn near inseparable. McCarty and White aren’t like peanut butter and jelly. Peanut butter and jelly are like McCarty and White.
”We kind of know how to play off each other,” McCarty says. “You know how they say like twins have a certain connection? It’s not like that, but we’ve been around each other so long, we’re almost the same.”
Basketball started clicking for McCarty at Harrison High School basketball camps. “I went from 6’3 in eighth grade, to the start of my freshman year at 6’7. It was crazy, but at the same time, it started clicking, and that’s when I knew right there, I wanted to play. Then like, when you grow to be 6’10, to me, I was like, ‘Man, this is my way out. I gotta do it. This is my way out.’”
It was. Basketball took McCarty to Lexington and the University of Kentucky, where he won a national championship in 1996 under Rick Pitino. While at Kentucky, McCarty forged a bond with Tony Delk so strong that he describes him as another brother.
“When I think about Kentucky, and I think about Lexington, I think about that brotherhood and the connection we had with each other,” he says. “I don’t think about Kentucky as the basketball mecca; it’s about the brotherhood that we had when we were there. Kentucky’s always had great teams and will continue to have great teams. But it’s about the relationships that I built there.”
”One of his nicknames in college was ‘Mr. Personality,’” White says. McCarty cracks up, adding that the nickname was “given to me by Jamal Mashburn.”
It’s an accurate nickname. When McCarty is in a room, he radiates an energy everybody feeds off. He has a deep voice, booming when it has to be, soft when he sings. He’s good about being kind to everybody, introducing himself to people when he gets a vibe they might be too shy to talk to him. If he senses somebody is having a bad time, he takes it upon himself to fix it.
”He knows how to work with people, he knows how to develop relationships,” White says. “He knows when he develops a relationship, how to maintain it. Never has his success gotten to him in such a way that he has forgotten who he is at his core.”
McCarty was taken by the New York Knicks in the first round of the 1996 NBA Draft, selected 19th overall. White followed McCarty to New York and spent his rookie season with him there. Just two kids from Evansville, taking on New York City.
”To grow up in Evansville, and to be able to have a friend that thinks enough of you to put you in a situation that could ultimately change your life, like,” he pauses, collecting himself, “Those experiences that he’s given me have changed my life. It’s not something I take for granted.”
After enjoying their pizza and wings, plus a surprising Atlanta Falcons’ victory, McCarty, White and Seltzer make their way to Mo’s House, a bar in Evansville’s Haynie’s Corner Arts District owned by Moriah Hobgood, one of the city’s most influential entrepreneurs.
The men enter, and head for the outdoor area that opened in April. It’s a beautiful day, 66 degrees with just a few clouds. McCarty and Seltzer have their cigar boxes, spark a couple, and ask for coffees with bourbon cream. White gets a hot chocolate, because he’s not a drinker.
McCarty pulls out his portable speaker and lets some Babyface play. There are hardly any people at Mo’s right now, but it won’t stay that way for long. For now, McCarty is letting the music ride, and is singing along. Conversation among the three floats all over the place, from college hoops to Lamar Jackson’s latest eye-popping touchdown to Dion Waiters having a panic attack over an edible. At times they let things pass in silence because they have the type of relationship where nothing needs to be said. Everybody is perfectly fine enjoying each other’s physical presence.
This bar is where McCarty wants to be if they beat Kentucky. “We going to come back here and tell Mo, ‘Mo, you’re opening, Mo. We’re going to Mo’s right now, off the bus!’”
As the bar gets busier, a fan comes up to McCarty, shakes his hand, and wishes him luck against Kentucky, but in a way that implied he had no confidence in McCarty’s team.
McCarty ignores the slight and replies, “Yeah, we’ll get ‘em.”
The University of Evansville has a rich basketball history. A small college powerhouse under Arad McCutchan, they routinely beat Division I schools, and even had an undefeated national championship season in 1965. Coached by the man they called “Mac” and powered by legends like Larry Humes and Jerry Sloan, the Aces won five national titles.
When the program moved up to Division I in 1977, a smooth transition seemed likely. There were talented players on the squad, and in Bobby Watson they had a fresh face who looked like a worthy successor to Mac after his retirement.
But on December 13 of that same year, as the team was traveling to play Middle Tennessee State, their plane clipped trees in the Melody Hills neighborhood on Evansville’s north side, and fell into a ravine. All 29 people on board Indiana Air Flight 216 died. More than 40 years later, the accident is still known as “The Night It Rained Tears.”
There’s no telling where Aces basketball would be today had it not been for that tragic night. The program’s most successful coach since the crash has been Jim Crews, who made four NCAA tournaments in 16 years and has a banner hanging in the rafters at the Ford Center, where the Aces play today. That’s fine for a mid-major, but because of the success the school had as a small college program, there’s always been a nagging feeling that Evansville could do better.
The legacy of the plane crash is a generational gap among Aces fans. Most that show up to games nowadays are older than the average college hoops crowd. They’re the ones who remember when the Aces were a must-see. For the past four decades, that hasn’t been the case. Evansville has long had the type of crowds that mostly cheer when a player is subbed out and had a good performance, or when the fight song is playing. But that’s changing.
When McCarty was hired in March 2018, Evansville immediately felt his presence. He is the most important hire that the university has made since Mac called it quits. The university needed a young, energetic, intelligent basketball mind, and now they have one.
McCarty, then an assistant with the Boston Celtics, had interviews with other schools, but Evansville ended up working out perfectly, even when it may not have seemed like it to him. The recruiting process went fast. After a phone interview, Evansville’s athletic director Mark Spencer had a chat with Celtics head coach Brad Stevens. Stevens later told McCarty, “Man, I don’t know what you did, but this guy, he loves you.”
After a second interview, boosters were lined up to call McCarty. McCarty was in New Orleans, with the Celtics set to play the Pelicans.
”I’m waiting on these boosters to call, I’m trying to find the Kentucky game, and go somewhere and smoke a cigar,” McCarty says. “I found a place, turned this game on, and a booster calls me and it goes great. The next booster calls me, and it goes great. The next booster calls, goes great. All I’m thinking is, ‘They hear all this shit in the background, this ain’t the guy.’ Because I’m watching Kentucky basketball, it was just like, ‘I blew that shit, I blew it.’ Not knowing that I did a great job.”
A day later, Spencer hinted to McCarty, “When you come home on your trip, I might not let you leave.”
But despite the reassurance, McCarty didn’t have high hopes. The Celtics were about to go to Portland to start a two-week road trip, so McCarty sent his bags on ahead with the team. He was planning on going to Evansville, doing his interview, and joining the Celtics in Portland afterward.
As Spencer drove McCarty back to his hotel in downtown Evansville with then-senior associate athletic director Lance Wilkerson in the back seat, Spencer showed McCarty just how badly the university wanted him there.
Tumblr media
“Mark hands me the contract, and he’s like, ‘I told you I wasn’t going to let you leave. I don’t want you to leave,’” McCarty says. “He was really emotional about it.”
The trio went up to McCarty’s room where he signed the contract and became the eighth head coach in Evansville’s history.
McCarty was an easy choice, not only for the school, but for the assistants who have joined him along the way.
”Everything that our guys are trying to accomplish, our coach has already been through it,” Seltzer says. “So why wouldn’t you listen to him? Why wouldn’t that be a focal point of, ‘Hey man, this guy really knows what he’s talking about’? And I think that really translates to our guys. He’s done it in a way where – you know I’ve coached with guys that curse the kids out, talk shit to them and talk crazy to them. I’ve also coached with guys where once you leave the gym, you’ll never see them. You gotta talk to the secretary to schedule an appointment, that’s crazy. That’s crazy to me. And here, Coach is — he’s accessible as any coach I’ve ever been with and I think our guys appreciate that. That’s different; that hardly happens anywhere.”
The comfort the players have with coming in and out of the coaches’ offices is great, but can be a little much sometimes, as T.C. jokes, “They here so much we gotta run them off sometimes, like, don’t you got something to do?”
McCarty’s personality and energy are consistent, expressed in the culture he’s instilled at Evansville, his style as a basketball player, and his attitude as a head coach.
“I am a true kid that grew up across 41 and didn’t have a whole lot. And, shoot, I never thought in a million years I’d be the head coach at the University of Evansville. I used to pass this university every day, you know? I love sometimes on game days, I’m driving down to the arena, and I’m thinking, ‘Man, I used to go to church there,’ you know what I’m saying? It’s one of those like, ‘Damn. Good shit happens when you work.”
“I wanna be here for a long time,” he says very seriously. “That means we’re kicking ass and doing a good job. I’m here to create a program that’s going to be sustainable for a long time. That’s my goal.”
McCarty’s status as Evansville’s head coach is also significant because he is a black man. Evansville’s history as a city is complicated. Situated in a midwestern state, it also has many southern qualities. The city’s location in southwestern Indiana meant a quick trip across the Ohio River for Kentucky residents, who may not have always been as hospitable towards blacks as northerners.
When McCarty was hired, Evansville lost some big boosters. Was it because he was the university’s first black coach? “From hearing from other people in this program,” he says, “I felt that way.”
But he hasn’t let the defections faze him.
”I thought about this, coming here and being the first African-American head coach at this university. Our people here in Evansville, especially people of color — what leaders do they see, other than a parent, a pastor, or an insurance guy or something? There’s not a lot of people they can look up around and be like, ‘He’s really doing his job to bring his community together and people can look up to him.’ I gotta own that, and I got to make sure I do good by that.”
He’s not worried about the lost boosters. “Just like music, sports — those are things that bring people together, right? We’ll get ‘em back. We’ll get ‘em back. We win, we do the right thing, they’ll come back. They’ll come back. That’s what we’re betting on – building the right program, building this culture.
“If you’re an Aces fan, you love basketball, we’re going to win you back.”
White comes in through the side door around 11 a.m., just in time for practice. His arrival is timed perfectly: McCarty is making his way down the hallway right where he’s entering.
“You guys got film?” White asks.
“Yeahhh, man,” McCarty drags out in response.
White knows the drill, and goes to the practice court while the team looks over film of the Wildcats in the players lounge. Nobody is intimidated by the thought of playing against the country’s top team.
“After I got the job, I saw [John Calipari] somewhere. He comes up to me and just says, ‘Man, tell me what I can do. I’ll do anything for you, but I’m not coming to Evansville,’” McCarty says. “So I said, ‘Let’s get a game.’ He didn’t even hesitate, he’s like, ‘Let’s do it.’ And it got done.”
Film ends at 11:50 and the Aces are coming out onto the floor. Sam Cunliffe is the first one out and comes to White’s end of the court. He says something to White, who laughs and responds, “Get focused, get focused.” A couple of other players join in as the team is warming up with stretches from the baseline to half-court. White also encourages them to focus, and they do, because they respect him as much as anybody else in the building.
The pace picks up when McCarty comes out a couple minutes later decked in a gray Nike sweatsuit, a teal Jordan Brand T-shirt and some Air Jordan 3s in the Knicks’ colorway. He turns on “6 Man” by Drake, the music soon accompanied by the frenzied squeaking of sneakers on the basketball floor.
The practice court has changed since McCarty was hired. There are now banners on both ends of the gym, one with pictures of current players and the other bearing the names of Evansville Aces legends. The championship banners that once hung on the far side of the gym have been replaced by “EVERY POSSESSION MATTERS.” On the other end: “PLAY WITH A PURPOSE.”
Seltzer and T.C. walk over and start making conversation with White about the Aces win against Ball State the night before. White wasn’t able to make it because he was in Louisville at an Anthony Hamilton concert.
“I saw the score at half and I said, ‘Oh shit, they must be playing today!’” Troy tells them with a laugh.
And they were playing. Evansville jumped out to a 40-18 halftime lead, but nearly surrendered it, ultimately winning 79-75. Today, the coaches are going to try to iron things out, because a second half like that won’t fly against Kentucky. Seltzer and T.C. work their way over towards the team, which is done stretching and ready to get to work. They’re also joined by assistant coach Logan Baumann, who has been at half-court with Isaac McGlone, the director of basketball operations for the team.
Baumann takes the Aces through a play, giving very specific instructions not just on where to be, but the angle they should take, hand placement, everything. Baumann was a part of Louisville’s 2013 national championship winning team, and by the way he handles the Aces players you can tell he’s going to be a Power 5 head coach one day. On the floor, he’s a spitting image of a top-level coach, serious and meticulous.
Baumann seems pleased with how the guys are responding to what he’s telling them, and says, “If we can get this right, we’re going to be in good shape,” which was the overarching message of the practice. They know they can win the game. McCarty adds encouragement.
“After that, it’s just about effort plays. Who wants it?”
“If you do what we tell you to do, you will make baskets.”
McCarty’s coaching style is all about trusting his players. He puts them in the right spot and gives them the tools to succeed, and then it’s up to them. He’s taken bits and pieces from the men he’s worked under, but he’s his own guy.
He learned Xs and Os from playing all five positions throughout his career. Having learned the basics as a player, once he became a coach it was mostly about fine-tuning. “For me, I’ve always made it a point to figure out and ask, ‘Well why are you successful?’ Whether it was with Coach P (Rick Pitino), Mike D’Antoni, Jeff Van Gundy, Mike Dunleavy, Jim O’Brien, Brad Stevens, I’ve always done that.”
McCarty is confident in his players, and confident in himself too. He has to be. “In practice sometimes, I may go off script,” he says. “I’ll be like, ‘OK, board,’ and just start working. So I have that command and attention, but that confidence in the game for whatever I’m doing. Because if there’s any hesitation, if there’s any sign that you don’t believe it or whatever, shit, they see it. And then it really ain’t gonna work.
”I tell my guys, ‘Go make the right play. Just go have fun, go make the right play.’ We’re starting to build that confidence. What you’re doing is you’re letting them know that you trust them, but what you get out of it is, they’re going to run through a wall for you.”
That confidence and calm was still present as the team prepared to go to Lexington. On a cold and drizzly day in Evansville, it was business as usual for the Aces. Popeyes three-pieces awaited the team on the bus, though some players opted to go to the student center across the street and grab some Chick-fil-A.
McCarty was the last one on the bus, and looked like he had just walked out of his barber’s chair. McCarty knows when you look good, typically you do good: there’s an invincible feeling that comes with a fresh cut. He put off his haircut just so he would look his best for his return to Lexington.
The next morning, the team is at shootaround at Rupp Arena around 11 a.m. The guys are warming up, and McCarty is looking up into the rafters, where Kentucky’s old-timey banners hang displaying Final Four appearances, runners-up and national championships. He says, “It’s a great day to be a Purple Ace.”
The warmup line gets down to the baseline where he’s standing, and he says, “You see that?” to a couple of Aces, pointing to the 1996 championship banner. “I did that.” The players get a kick out of it, and keep on going about their business.
The team is doing one last walkthrough of what to expect later on in the evening, and players and coaches remain focused and detailed. When going through a play, McCarty tells his team, “You gotta ask yourself, ‘What can I do for my teammates?’” he says. “You guys are going to have open shots all night.”
After they break the final huddle concluding practice, the team sits on the bench they will occupy later that night. They are still very loose for a mid-major walking into an environment like this. Kentucky has a 39-game win streak as an AP No. 1 team at home against non-conference opponents, and the empty arena has an ominous feeling to it.
Then, redshirt sophomore DeAndre Williams gets loud.
“Great day to be a Purple Ace!” he yells. He begins to clap, and clap hard. “Give me that shit, coach! Great day to be a Purple Ace!”
Evansville’s Shamar Givance brings the ball down the floor with less than a minute to go. Kentucky’s Tyrese Maxey is sliding down the court with him step by step. With a late, tight lead, McCarty makes his guys slow things down. Clock is burning. His guys are calm, and they can focus on executing, which is exactly what he stresses in practice. They’re prepared for this moment, and they know it.
After a handful of dribbles at the logo, Givance gets the ball to K.J. Riley, who drives and kicks the ball out to a wide open Noah Frederking. Evansville’s bench rises at the same time Frederking’s shot does, and you could feel the soul draining out of Big Blue Nation as the ball hung in the air. If the shot goes in, the game is done.
It doesn’t, and the Wildcats get a quick two on the other end thanks to Immanuel Quickley. There are 44.5 seconds left, and going from the near-dagger to a quick Kentucky basket could have spelled doom for the Aces. Had Frederking hit that shot, Kentucky fans would be walking back to their cars. Instead, the Wildcats have life.
Evansville drains some clock on the next possession, but aren’t able to get a shot off, and a shot clock violation is called. With 13.7 seconds left, Kentucky opts a quick two-pointer rather than a three, sending Maxey on a drive to the basket, to make it a 65-64 game with eight seconds remaining.
Everybody at Rupp Arena is on their feet. Evansville has been the better-coached team up to this point, and their players have played harder. The 25-point underdogs just need to be better than No. 1 Kentucky for eight more seconds and they will have pulled off the biggest win in program history.
Sam Cunliffe is fouled after an inbounds pass, and calmly walks to the free-throw line. He gives all his teammates five on his way to the stripe. At the line, Cunliffe gets the ball from the referee, takes a quick dribble, and wastes no time putting the basketball through the net. It silences the Rupp Arena crowd quickly, before it can even reach peak volume. He does the same on the second free throw. The Aces lead, 67-64.
Tumblr media
Kentucky’s Nate Sestina inbounds the ball to Maxey, who dribbles quickly down the Rupp Arena logo painted on the side of the court. He pulls up just to the side of the bottom of the K on the UK logo at mid-court while Evansville’s Artur Labinowitz carefully contests the shot, avoiding giving Kentucky three foul shots. The high arching shot falls short, and Riley dribbles the ball to safety. McCarty, cool as ever, walks down the court to shake hands with John Calipari and the Wildcats.
The Evansville Aces, under former Kentucky national champion Walter McCarty, have gone into Lexington and beat the Wildcats on their home court.
The elevator going down to the floor level is mostly Kentucky fans with mostly unhappy faces. But one older lady clutches her purse and says, “So Walter came into Rupp Arena and beat ‘em!? Look at that!”
Just inside the tunnel is White, who is jumping up and down, beside himself with excitement. “You come in this motherfucker and win!?” he yells. “That is fucking amazing!”
“I got to call my mom,” he says, pacing and jumping. “I got to call my mom.” He calls her. “Mama! I don’t know if you were watching the game, but Walter just beat Kentucky. Just beat them at Kentucky, Mom! They just beat Kentucky at home, Ma! Oh, my gosh!” He’s still jumping while on the phone.
Tony Delk makes his way into the tunnel and jokes with White, “Get off the phone, man! Get off the phone!” They exchange dap, and share an almost violent hug.
After doing his interviews on the court, McCarty is escorted to the locker room by Isaac McGlone and sports information director Bob Pristash. He daps up and hugs Delk, and starts to walk into the locker room, before seeing White. The two share a big hug, and as McCarty starts to walk away he turns around, leans forward a bit, and says, “What I tell you? I told you we was gon’ get ‘em.”
As soon as McCarty walks into the locker room, he’s showered with water from re-filled Gatorade bottles. He collects as many of his players as he can in his long arms, and hugs them with all his might. The white-and-blue checkered tile in the locker room is soaked, and it’s dangerous, but it doesn’t matter right now. Nothing matters. Evansville beat Kentucky.
The calm and discipline that led them into the game is long gone.
”We fuckin’ beat Kentucky! We fuckin’ beat Kentucky!”
”I’mma call you back!”
”A bunch, a bunch of notifications.”
”The best thing that happened to me since I come here.”
”I can’t even deal with it right now!”
”Is there a towel back there? Or all they all wet?”
”We’re probably trending No. 1.”
”We’re the No. 1 topic in the country on Twitter.”
”Who puts fuckin’ tile on the goddamn floor?”
McCarty’s first order of business is the press conference. He changes into an all-black team-issued sweatsuit. While he’s addressing the media, he lifts his hand to scratch his face, and the blue gems from his 1996 national championship ring seem to shine in the light with little more color than usual.
McCarty then goes out to greet the Evansville fans who stuck around. One of them waiting for him is Mo. They share a hug, and she agrees to open up the House when everyone gets back to Evansville late that same night.
He greets the others who have waited for him, a mix of Evansville fans and Kentucky fans who wanted to congratulate one of their own. He takes pictures, gives dap, squeezes out hugs, and signs autographs. One fan is standing in the bleachers just yelling, “I LOVE WALTAH!” over and over.
But McCarty’s just getting started with what’s about to be an overwhelming amount of media requests. He heads to the coaches’ locker room with Evansville’s sports information director Bob Pristash and director of media relations Michael Robertson. McCarty is seated in the corner locker, and finally has a chance to look at his phone.
The first person he calls is his wife Erin. Before he gets off the phone with her, he’s led to believe that he’s about to do the first of many national media appearances. Technical difficulties buy him some time, so he makes another quick call, then says to me, “Watch this.”
McCarty dials back a number, the tone rings a few times, and all of a sudden, somebody is yelling, “You bad motherfucker!”
It’s Patrick Ewing.
“Beast! What’s up, baby!?” McCarty replies with joy and laughter.
“I’m so fucking proud of you, boy!” Ewing yells back.
After hanging up with Ewing, McCarty turns his phone to me, showing off his 284 unread text messages. By the time his SportsCenter interview with Stan Verrett is over and he gets on the bus to go back to Evansville, there are 304.
”How stupid is that?” he says with a laugh that’s heavily coated with disbelief, “I really gotta go through that? I don’t even wanna do that!”
When McCarty finally steps onto the bus, and starts an impromptu speech with, “I thought we could do it. I knew we could do it. But when you do it.”
”Guys, we are the No. 1 trend in the world right now,” he continues. “Evansville’s the No. 1 trend right now in the world! Shit’s going crazy right now! Hey, we gotta keep building on this, man. Keep building! I know I say it all the time, we got enough guys. If we just play connected, man, we can do anything.”
Anything seems possible in the unreal moments after the game. On the bus, everybody buries themselves in their phones, absorbed by all the attention being thrown their way.
At one point, Charles Barkley calls to congratulate the team, so McCarty put him on speakerphone and walks towards the middle and back of the bus. Barkley tells them to enjoy the win but to get back to work. Once he gets off the phone, DeAndre Williams cracks, “Can we talk to LeBron now?!”
The coaches spend the rest of the bus ride reflecting, a perhaps-futile attempt to absorb the magnitude of what just happened. “Only time I’ve ever felt like that was when we won it all,” Baumann says, seated behind McCarty at the front of the bus. “That was crazy.”
Seltzer, who is across the aisle from McCarty, pulls up an old photo of himself while he was an assistant at Indiana. His hands are raised, and he’s running towards the court, and you can see a leg with blue and white shorts, socks, and shoes on. The picture was taken when Christian Watford and the Hoosiers sank No. 1 Kentucky in Bloomington in 2011.
Baumann tells McCarty that he just got word of a group of about 200 or 300 students waiting for the team outside the Carson Center, and that a pep rally is going to be held the next day to celebrate.
McCarty is incredulous, but Seltzer replies, “When you do something that’s never been done, you gotta do something that’s never done.”
The team is almost back to Evansville, and by now the bus is mostly quiet. McCarty looks up from his phone and shakes his head, smiling and laughing.
“Did we just do that?” he says. “That’s fucking crazy.”

Congratulations (Alexander Hamilton x Reader)
Summary: Being best friends with Eliza Schuyler meant the two of you took care of each other. When she fell in love with the same solider as you, you were heartbroken, but happy for her. Now, your back to help her through The Reynolds Pamphlet and you give Alexander a piece of your mind.
Warnings: mentions of cheating (Reynolds Pamphlet), a little bit of sadness
Time Period: Hamiltime
Words: 2670
A/N: Ahhhh, it’s been so long since I posted a story and I’m sorry! I have been buys, but I’m doing by best to get more stories out for you. Anyway, this is inspired by the song “Congratulations” that was originally supposed to be in between Reynolds Pamphlet and Burn, but it was cut from the show. After finding it on YouTube, I am obsessed with it!! If you haven’t listened to it yet you definitely should. I hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!
At a young age you were introduced to Eliza Schuyler, and to the two of you become inseparable. Everything she did, you were right by her side and vice-versa. The two of you laughed together, cried together, and grew up into beautiful, kind, independent women.
During the winter of 1780, a ball was being held as an attempt to let people forget about the worries of war for one night. When the event was announced, you and Eliza rushed downtown as soon as possible and found new gowns.
The night of the ball, Eliza was standing behind you, making last minute fixes to your hair. While this wasn’t your first ball, you felt nervous. Maybe it was because you wanted to meet a solider that would sweep you off your feet.
“Eliza, you do realize that every man in the ballroom will be throwing themselves at your feet just to dance with you.” you told her, laughing at her reaction.
She threw you a serious look, but quickly replaced it with a smile. “That is not true, most men will be going after Angelica, and the ones who do not will be flocking to you.” she explained.
You both let the subject dropped and stood side by side, taking in your appearance. Eliza looked stunning in her blue gown, hair swept out of her face. You looked radiant in your (y/f/c) gown, hair swept into an elegant updo, with just a few pieces of hair framing your face.
After linking arms, you both headed to the carriage that would take you to the ball. Once you walked into the ballroom, you smiled at the atmosphere. People were laughing, dancing, and just enjoying themselves in general. It was a pleasant break from the harsh atmosphere of war.
Just like Eliza predicted, men flocked to Angelica, begging for just one dance with the eldest Schuyler Sister. Although you knew she meant nothing of it, she amused each man by dancing then night away, going from partner to partner. You enjoyed joking around with Eliza while the two of you marveled how graceful Angelica looked.
Many men had come up to you asking for a dance, but you had only accepted a handful. None of them were sparking interest in you.
At least, that was until a man with dark hair, pulled back into a ponytail entered the room. He was accompanied by three other men, and you could tell by their uniforms that they were soldiers. You were instantly drawn to the shorter man.
Quickly, you found Eliza on the side of the room. You were about to tell her about the man you saw until you saw her own expression. Finally noticing your presence, she grabbed you by the arm and took you to a secluded corner of the room.
“Do you see the handsome man with the ponytail, with the group of rowdy soldiers?” she asked you, subtly pointing them out.
You nodded slowly and felt the fear creeping up your throat. “This one’s mine.” she whispered to you.
Instantly, you feel the fear rising even farther up your throat; Eliza was attracted to the same man as you. Now you had two choices. One, you could tell her that you saw him as well and were taken with him. If you did, she would back away, but you knew she would forever be longing after him. The other option, was to let her have him and stand by while she was happy, even thought that meant possibly giving up the love of your life.
After seeing her gaze off at the man, a look of helplessness on her face, you made your decision. You squeezed her arm and gave her a reassuring smile, before you strode confidently towards the man.
Clearing your throat, the man turned around and took a sharp intake of breath. He was momentarily stunned by your beauty before he regained the ability to speak.
“Hello, Miss.” he spoke, reaching for you hand and brushing his lips against your knuckles.
You could feel the blush rising on your cheeks, but you ignored it and continued. “My name is (y/n) (y/l/n).” you introduced giving a small curtsied.
“Alexander Hamilton.” he told you, proudly.
It took a few moments for you to try and recognize the name, but when you couldn’t you brushed it off and grabbed his arm. “Follow me.” you commanded.
Before you could drag him away, he stood his ground and stared at you questioningly. “Where are you taking me?”
“Just trust me.” you instructed. “I’m about to change your life.”
At this comment, his feet started to move and you marched him across the room to where Eliza was standing. As you got closer, she tried to calm herself down right as you stopped in front of her. You let go of Alexander’s arm and stepped to the side.
“Eliza Schuyler. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” she introduced herself, curtsying.
“Schuyler?” he asked, looking back at you.
“Yes, she is the daughter of Philip Schuyler and my best friend.” you informed him, your smiling dropping ever so slightly.
“Thank you for all your service.” Eliza rushed, trying to think of something to say. You could see the connection growing.
“If it takes fighting a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it.” he smiled, brushing his lips over her knuckles just as he had done to yours, moments before.
A forced smile down present on your face, you glanced at the two and spoke. “I’ll leave you to it.”
Walking away, you could feel tears prick at your eyes. It was silly though; you were crying over a man who hadn’t been yours. But when you looked at how happy Eliza was, you knew you had made the right choice.
A week later, Alexander had already written Eliza at least ten letters. They were poetic, romantic, and swept her off her feet. After reading his first letter, you gently warned her that he would do anything to survive. She just waved you off, too busy writing her response. Even though you tried to keep it check, your jealousy would peek through every now and then. Luckily, Eliza was oblivious and took it for playful teasing.
Just two weeks after meeting at The Winter’s Ball, Alexander had come to Eliza’s house to ask her father for her hand in marriage. You waited anxiously with Eliza outside the dining room, holding her hand and trying to reassure her that everything would be alright.
Once Alexander came out of the room with the biggest grin you had seen, you knew you had officially lost him. Eliza ran to him and they spun around, giddy, and full of love.
The wedding came quickly and you were, of course, the maid of honor. During the entire ceremony, you watched at how Alexander stared at his bride and how she stared at him. You knew deep down that you would never feel like that with anybody besides the man marrying your best friend.
When the priest announced the two as husband and wife, you finally shed your pent-up tears. Everybody believed that you were crying out of happiness for the newlyweds, but you were crying for the happily ever after you would never get.
A few months later, your parents had arranged for you to marry a man from Pennsylvania. You didn’t argue because you knew it was the way life had to be; this man would take care of you for the rest of your life and your parents wouldn’t have to worry about you.
Around the same time, Eliza announced that she was pregnant with her and Alexander’s first child. Even though at times you couldn’t stand the thought, you stuck with Eliza through the ups and downs of her pregnancy, and you were with her when she gave birth to a beautiful, baby boy; Philip.
Eventually, the war had ended and America had won. The British left, Alexander came home, as did your husband. Once he arrived home, he explained to you about a job opportunity in London. Putting on a smile, you nodded and played to part of a loving, supporting wife. However, on the inside you were screaming for somebody to save you.
When the day of your departure arrived, you cried. You cried because it would be the first time in years that you and Eliza would be separated; she cried with you. You cried because you would be sailing across the ocean to live a life where you knew no one. Finally, you cried because you would now only be communicating to Alexander by letters. Before you left, you made him promise to write to you.
More years passed and you lived only to read Alexander’s and Eliza’s letters. They both described their growing family so vividly, it sounded wonderful. There came a time about nine years after you had left that Eliza invited you to come home and spend the summer with her and Alexander and their children upstate.
Without hesitation, you packed your bags, and sailed back to America. The moment you saw Eliza, the both of you screamed and hugged each other like you were each other’s lifeline. Hearing a clearing of the throat, you turned to look a face that had plagued your thoughts and dreams the last decade.
“Alexander...” you greeted, a genuine smile plastered on your face.
“(y/n).” he addressed, happily.
Before you could say another word, Eliza crossed her arms and stared down Alexander while addressing you. “(y/n), tell this man, John Adams spends the summer with his family.” she almost spat.
“(y/n), tell my wife John Adams doesn’t have a real job anyway.” he countered, standing his own ground.
“Wait, Alexander you’re not joining us?” you questioned, voice barely a whisper. He shook his head no and you began to convince him otherwise. “But I came all this way. Take a break!”
In the end, Alexander ended up staying home, while you, Eliza, and her children headed upstate. It was nice to be back in the United States, and you thoroughly enjoyed your summer. Unfortunately, all good things end, and so did your summer. It wasn’t long before you were back in London, back to longing for Alexander over his letters.
It seemed as if the letters began showing up less and less, until you only received a letter every month or two from Alexander. If you were lucky. There was no way you could have known what was going on.
You stepped onto the dock and took in the sounds and smells of New York. However, you ignored everything, and set your sight on finding the Hamilton’s residence. It took some asking around, but you were finally able to locate Eliza’s house.
Quickly running up the steps, you knocked loudly on the door and waited for a response. A man with curly hair and freckles dotted across his face opened the door and looked relieved at the sight of you.
“Aunt (y/n)!” Philip cried.
He threw himself into your arms and you engulfed him in a hug. As you walked inside, you lead him inside and sat him down on the couch. You rubbed a soothing hand up and down his back until his sobs quieted.
“How could he do this, Aunt (y/n)?” he asked, looking completely broken.
“I-I don’t know, Philip.” you confessed, upset you couldn’t provide him with a better answer. “But I do know that I’m going to do all in my power to make everything right again.” you promised, squeezing his hand.
“Now how is your mother taking all of this?” you inquired.
Philip gestured upstairs. “She claims she is okay, but I know otherwise. She locks herself up in her room so we don’t see her crying, and she makes him sleep in his office.” he muttered, sounding disgusted at the mention of his father.
You gave Philip one more hug before telling him to entertain his brother and sisters. Once he left, you made the journey upstairs to Eliza’s room. When you stepped inside, there were books and papers strewn across the room; preassembly Alexander’s.
You found your friend cocooned under a mountain of blankets. Similar to her son, her eyes were red and puffy, and you could see fresh tears travel down her cheeks. In an instant, you were at her side, hugging her. As you helped her to sit up, she didn’t question your appearance, only murmured a small, thank you before she collapsed into your chest. After a few minutes, you wiped away her tears and promised you would return with a mug of hot tea.
Making the journey back downstairs, you stopped dead in your tracks when you saw Alexander standing in his living. He looked at you, shocked. He hadn’t seen you in years, but you looked as beautiful as the night he first met you all those years ago, at the Winter’s Ball.
“(y/n)!” he breathed out, taking a small step towards you.
Taken aback by his sudden appearance you gave a small smile. “Alexander.” you whispered. Shaking your head, your mind went back to why you were there. Instantly, your smile dropped and your attitude changed. “Congratulations.” you spat, sarcasm dripping from your voice.
He stared at you confused at your sudden change of demeanor. Before he could question it, you spoke again. “You have invented a new kind of stupid! This damage you have created can never be undone! you screamed at him.
“(y/n)...” he tried to speak again.
“You let a rumor that maybe two people knew about and refuted by sharing an affair when no one has accused you. I begged you to come with us and take break, but you refused!” you continued, screaming.
“You never think about the consequences, you only think about losing to your enemies. Well guess what? You’re the only enemy you ever seem to lose to. You want to know why Jefferson is ahead of you? He doesn't take immature taunts and throw back a response!”
“(y/n).” Alexander spoke again, sounding more desperate.
“Always obsessed with your legacy, you’ve redefined it now. Congratulations.” you snarled, so disgusted with him that you turned around so your back was facing Alexander.
In a last attempt to save his reputation in your mind, he finally had the courage to cut you off. “It was an act of political sacrifice!” he roared at you.
“Sacrifice?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper as you turned around the face Alexander. You had to fight the urge not to scoff at his response.
“You think that was sacrifice?” you inquired, accusingly. “I married a man I didn’t love because the man I fell for married by best friend. I stood by so the two of you could be happy and all because she told me ‘this one’s mine.’” you explained, feeling the tears coming to your eyes.
“The only true happiness I felt came from reading your letters. Seeing you now makes me think what have we done with our lives? Did it get us what we really wanted? That doesn’t change anything though; I’m back in the city and I'm here to stay.
“(y/n).” he said, trying to reason with you.
“I'm not here for you. I know Eliza like I know my mind, and I know you will never find anyone as trusting or as kind. I love her more than anything in this life and I will choose her happiness over mine, every time. Just like I did all those years ago.” you pointed out, punching Alex in the chest with each word.
“Eliza is the best thing in our lives, so you will not forget that you have blessed with the best wife! Congratulations, because every sacrifice you make from this point is for her.” you commanded, taking a few steps back.
“Congratulations, Alexander. I hope you are satisfied.” you spat one last time, glaring daggers at him before running back upstairs to Eliza.
Alexander stayed in the living room just staring at the spot you had been standing in. He tried to process what you just shouted at him and was shocked when he deciphered it all. He never knew that you had loved him. What had he done?

Evaluating a Performance - what makes a good performance?
In my eyes a good performance is a combination of many things, and they must be combined. Some artists have great songs but lack in stage presence (and vice versa), some bands can look as though they’re meant to be up there with each other, some can let their issues outside the band leak in causing an awkward atmosphere and some can try too hard to look like they’re surrounded by this chemistry.
Sound
The quality of mixing can cause some serious issues when on stage and directly affects the chemistry between the artist and the audience. In an ideal situation the band can hear the right mix of their own instrument slightly above the rest and the vocal is loudest so that the band have a reference to which part of the song they’re at. Taking interest in the live mixing not only allows a band to know what to ask an engineer to change but also allows them to work out what’s good for them and how they like the monitor mix to be.
In a situation where a band cannot properly hear what they are playing, the disorientation can show pretty opaquely. If the band do not feel in control of their sound, they can no longer focus on stage presence and enjoying the moment and the dissatisfaction can ruin the experience for the band and audience alike.
Practice
Practice is the most important thing a band or artist can do to ensure their live show will be worth seeing and remembering. A band that is not together is very visible to the audience and yet again it ties into stage presence. A tight band is a happy band, and this leads to a happy audience.
Having played gigs with well-practiced bands and no so well-practiced bands, I can easily tell you that the latter can be extremely embarrassing – and embarrassment is the opposite of what you should be feeling while performing. As a live artist you should be above the crowd, the dictator of what is to come and to a certain extent that come through the audience’s faith in the band or artist. Once that trust is gone and an audience becomes uninterested, it is very visible to the performer which only further increases the lack of confidence onstage. Lack of confidence and an uninterested crowd can affect the biggest of artists like “In 2016, [when Justin Bieber] made headlines for stopping in the middle of his concert to scold his audience for talking over him.” (Weaver, 2018)
Composure
Another big issue can be loss of self-induced loss composure. Although intoxication can seem like something that would keep an artist sturdy during a performance – as Damhnait Doyle said “somebody bought me a shot of tequila right before I went on stage and it felt like — tada! — I'm not nervous anymore.”(Goodyear and Jackson, 2019) – it can become quite the opposite. If a band have practiced and practiced a set and one member becomes too drunk to play it can create animosity within the band which (yet again) ruins the onstage chemistry and in turn the stage presence. Whether it is the whole band drunk or just one member, it screams incompetence – which corrodes the previously mentioned faith an audience needs to have in the act.    Another way artists can lose composure even when well-practiced is by letting issues outside that performance seep in. To perform to the highest standard, one must not only take part in the performance but become submerged in it. In a way, an artist’s onstage persona – no matter how similar to their real-life personality – should be an act they assume. Whether it be in band issues or something personal, it can be very obvious when a performer doesn’t want to be performing and completely ruins the show. As an artist you’re convincing the audience that what you’re doing is interesting enough to take them out of their homes and subject them to the beer prices of a venue. If the artist doesn’t look convinced the audience certainly won’t be.

...
I got messaged recently about a girl who's being forced to either open up to her boyfriend or he will simply leave her, no names since keeping things private is a big thing to me quite a lot more than to others but that being besides the point I've decided to address this issue with her permission...I did this because of how important I believe confidentiality is weather it be personal or about somebody you know. I was always asked why I never open up or speak to anyone about any problems occurring in my life or my past. People say things like why do you hide or what are you hiding from, to what...to feed their perverse desires, people like this don't deserve that type of knowledge about you. They never really care about your comfort they push you until you break and if you do not break honey they will always make it like your the bad person, like your all to blame if things between you and you partner don't work out but I tell you if he/she were really good people they would wait and wait and wait for the moment your ready,no questions asked no pushing. Relationships should not have authority they should be fun youse need to enjoy each other's presence weather one is willing to share what you won't or vice versa. Another point important enough to grasp is transparent people, people who lie, who do not tell the truth, who break your trust, people who even when they wrong blame you then blame you again stating you do the same, it may sound confusing if it does read read reread until you can lash onto the words easily because this is so usual now it's so hard to avoid. People will talk they will they will want you to abide by them to give yourself to them mentally physically and emotionally but will break your trust so unless this person allows you to be comfortable with yourself, who you are first and you can open up no pressure then it is something special. If he doesn't break that promise if his mouth is not too big then you know you've got a keeper...if he doesn't hate you when he wrongs then you can't let go of him...if he hates himself when he wrongs then girl you go ahead and marry him.
