911 season 7 episode 4!! we've arrived!!
the only reason that i understand this long opening section is playing on the bachelor is that i've watched jarvis johnson talk about it before. thank you jarvis johnson.
the i'm taken but he's not scene. buck has a rule. eddie looks confused. hmmm.
fjdkf "hey joey." while watching the previous episode i said buck was bisexual character number 2 this season (after norman) but i may have been wrong. he's number 3, after norman and chimney.
Tumblr media
i mean, admittedly i've never seen a single episode of the bachelor firsthand, but it seems to me like they'd LOVE for something like this to happen. nobody got seriously hurt, it's extremely dramatic and big, lots and lots and lots of free press - what could be better for reality tv?
buck is so pumped to be getting the tour!!
"i guess that night was the most fun i'd had since getting struck by lightning." "you need to raise your bar, kid." fjdkfd. lines that could have worked word for word in a katherine hepburn/cary grant screwball comedy.
fjdkfjdkfj he's just using getting struck by lightning as a point of reference! "ah." is the right response, i think, tommy.
he could give buck lessons if he wants!! honestly i could quote every line of this conversation as notable and fun. i'm having a ball watching this actually happen with audio, instead of looping chunks of a few seconds. (not that there's anything wrong with looping chunks of a few seconds. i love looping chunks of a few seconds, looping chunks of a few seconds are tumblr's liveblood.)
tommy has "something" (a person) "that" (who) should be arriving right now, actually. fjdkf. early practice for when eddie ends up crashing their date next episode
Tumblr media
also, dear god, eddie's giant truck. forgot about that thing.
fjkdf. this poor man, watching his best friend and unknown crush fly off together. admittedly not into the sunset, but to vegas nonetheless
Tumblr media
waffles!!! bobby and athena made it through a cruise on a sinking ship and now there's someone breaking into their home making waffles
harryyy. i was just thinking about him during the last episode!
Tumblr media
ohhhh. he didn't just shoot up into the sky, that actually is a harry recast. interesting
okay, so apparently (x) marcanthonee reis was "sort of ready to move on". assuming that's true, fair enough - for anyone, but especially for a kid playing a role on tv.
ravi's "who's tommy?" is totally fair, and then he gets rewarded for his patience in being totally excluded from buck and eddie's weird jealous bff conversation by getting sent down a sewer. rough day, man
"both like watching half-naked men pummel each other" is certainly a set of words. it certainly is.
not for nothing, but is eddie blind, or is he just enjoying winding buck up a little, being at the center of some (as he would probably assume) friendship jealousy? because buck is. not being normal about this. at all.
buck thinking he's getting invited to the bar trivia thing and being asked to babysit.... i fully knew that was coming, but it's painfully awkward either way. also, dear god, eddie has already asked his girlfriend to babysit his kid twice this week. hmmmmm.
the AIR QUOTES. had to replay that three times, it's excellent, i adore this. the way he says it is SO good
Tumblr media
the little WIGGLE at the second set of air quotes. GOLD
Tumblr media
"get this! [star wars opinion]" jfkdfjk. possibly the funniest 911 has ever been
on his fridge! eddie has a day calendar! underatakeoutmenu
IT'S CIRCLED. WHAT DON'T YOU GET, MADDIE.
maddie's "with a little heart around it?" line is exactly as good as it seemed in all the gifs. wonderful, amazing, life-changing stuff
uh oh, harry in trouble!
yeah. so. the woman on this home break-in call absolutely shot her son, didn't she?
she did. we needed a nod to athena's recast son subplot.
that's athena's cop side coming out when she tells her son in a weird roundabout way that people are going to pee on him in jail. if buck and eddie sounded like a classic screwball, this is more tango & cash.
OH. we ARE getting into the athena-is-a-cop part of it.
oh my darling. you are being SO weird about this (affectionate).
Tumblr media
insane amazon prime sponsorship just right in the middle of jealous bisexual weight lifting. what is happening
oh my god. oh boy. oh no
Tumblr media
i mean, oh YES, but there's just oodles of secondhand embarassment to go around here. love you though buck, go for it, don't let me stop you
chimney innocently asking what that is buck is heartbrokenly cuddling..... and getting roped into this insane musclebound love triangle. poor chimney, you did nothing wrong.
also though. eddie giggling on the phone and fully and blatantly ignoring buck for that entire scene? there's just so much going on here. everyone's in love with tommy and his cool helicopters.
i was genuinely sort of hoping the athena-breaking-the-news part of this woman-shot-her-son case would remain implied. very sad. only misery here.
buck bullshitting his way into pretending this is totally just his attempt to bond with his future brother-in-law is very funny. nice try, my boy
the face of a chimney realizing he's been tricked :(
Tumblr media
chimney calling himself a basketball beard...... chimney is cleverer than he even knows, i think.
i saw the post @redgoldblue reblogged pointing this out, but. yeah. that IS a whole montage that's just a very long top gun reference. playing with the boys!!!
also, in light of that...... buck & eddie's infamous "you can have my back any time" was also a top gun reference. (specifically, a reference to "you can be my wingman any time."/"bullshit. you can be mine.", as in, this right here.) we all agree on that, right? i've never seen anyone mention it, but that might just be because i only really see 911 content when it happens across my dash, so. we do agree? because. buck&eddie first bonding moments related to top gun.... buck&tommy arc starting with top gun basketball..... i'm just saying. i am. just saying.
sitting here open-mouthedly indignant that buck dragged chim along and then doesn't even let him play. chimney deserves better even in the middle of a dramatic understandably self-centered sexuality crisis
he bucked that up!! oh my god
big sister maddie is Good. i like that
a few minutes to go in the episode and there's a knock at buck's door! who might that be? maybe he ordered something else off of amazon prime (which is canonically really quick and convenient and you don't even need to sign anything).
the way tommy says "evannn." is so good
the fact that it's the terrible fake mouth static over the radio that got buck's attention is amazing. meet cute: we fly into a hurricane and you badly pretend your radio isn't working when someone tries to talk sense into us
🌈🎉🌈🎉💖
Tumblr media
yes 🥺 he is free 🥺
gifs are good and wonderful but there are some things they just can't possibly do justice due to the limitations of the medium and just. seeing buck's quiet wide-eyed response to tommy kissing him and this Big Revelation he's having is definitely one of those things that need to be watched as a full scene with audio. oh gosh
saturday!
just lovely lovely good very sweet stuff! it's nice. but, like, nice - in a wonderful, good, heartwarming sort of way. god. the distance we've come - incredible.

The witchling and the god [Loki x Witch!Reader] Chapter 27
Summary: The Avengers were looking for someone to help Loki fit in with the team. To become socially acceptable, so to speak. He had been given the choice of sitting in a cell in Asgard or serving some sort of community service probation on Midgard. The Avengers and Shield both felt that as long as Loki was on Earth, he should be under supervision. This is now your job. Why? Because you’re a witch. You’re not sure why this qualifies you, but here you are, giving it a shot. What could possibly go wrong?
Tags: Witch!Reader, Magic, Witches, slow burn, everybody lives in the tower, character development, Loki‘s redemption, Stephen Strange is a friend, Loki and Stephen are frenemies, Tony Stark is a good bro, kids love Loki, Tony has stupid nicknames for everybody, eventual smut

Chapter 27: Old Wounds
You hum softly to yourself as you stand in your garden and pick berries. Normally you wouldn't bother with it and float magically to reach the high branches. But since the witch hunters attacked Gabriel, you've become wary of showing your magic in public. Even if it's in the safety of your own garden and you have no direct neighbors. You never know who may be watching.
The harvest of berries is unfortunately meager. You missed the right time and most of them have been eaten by birds or are already starting to mold. There won't be enough for jam, but maybe you'll bake a pie with them.
Since you spend so much time in New York, you've neglected your garden. The pumpkins and zucchini are doing well and promise to grow big again this year. They also need less care than berries.
You've already weeded to give your important plants more room. Because of your absence, everything is a bit more overgrown than usual.
After you’ve raided the bushes, you go into the house with the bowl and put it in the kitchen. Eloise has placed an order for potions, but you decide that it can wait a few more days and that the pie is more important. With a flick of your hand the berries start to wash themselves in the sink and fly back into the bowl. In parallel, you open a book where you collect your recipes and flip through until you find what you're looking for.
You have two of these books, one for regular recipes and one for magical ones. It's important to keep the two strictly separate, otherwise you may have some unpleasant mishaps, as you've learned.
Your phone rings with a message that you ignore for now. Only when a second and a third message arrive shortly afterwards you do pick it up.
It's Tony, there are a lot of exclamation points and it sounds urgent.
"Alarm! Code: Dangerous Jazz Hands"
You have no idea what that means, but you put your work aside and touch a rune on your doorframe before stepping through.
"Jarvis, what happened?" you ask, after barely setting foot in the compound.
"Thor has returned from Asgard. He and Loki are currently on the thirty-fifth floor."
You hear a loud crash that sends a vibration through the building.
"On the thirty-fourth floor,” the A.I. corrects.
Cursing softly, you run. The elevator takes you up and as the doors open, you hear loud yelling and more crashing.
"...he never cared! It does not matter what I do! I could die and he wouldn't even bat his eye."
That is Loki's voice – furious, hurt – and you rush in that direction.
"You know that is not true." Thor is more collected and firm. He tries to reason with his brother.
"Really? Did he even ask about me? How I am doing? If I'm fine?"
The pause that follows speaks for itself and you hear another crash as something is thrown against a wall and breaks. You turn around a corner and see a hole gaping in the ceiling with metal struts peeking out. The path in front of you is blocked with rubble, which you climb over. You are now very close to the voices and hear the brizzle of raw magic. Shit, that's not good.
"That's what I thought." Loki's words are cold with venom. "I am just an unpleasant thorn in his foot and he has finally found the perfect way to get rid of me."
"Brother, please!... Stand back, Rogers. It's fine. I handle him."
"I do not need to be handled!"
You meet Tony, who is in his Iron Man suit, but faceplate open. "Good, you're here," he greets you, "Tell him the sun is getting low or whatever helps to calm him down."
You nod, but otherwise acknowledge him no further, instead pushing past Steve into a room. It's one of the lounges, but half the furnishings are destroyed. Pictures have crumbled from the walls, a table lies in pieces and the couch is overturned.
Loki's hands glow with magic, his whole body seems to be radiating it. He glares angrily at his brother. Thor has Mjolnir in his hands and the cracks on the wall testify that he has already used his weapon.
Thor puts a hand on Loki's shoulder to calm his brother, but Loki shakes him off and a hand to hand combat fight breaks out between the two. It doesn't look like they truly want to hurt each other, but the two Asgardians are inhumanly strong. A normal person's bones would break over this.
"Loki."
He pauses at the sound of your voice. Thor too, waiting to see what his brother would do, how he would react. Loki doesn't turn to face you. "Leave."
As if! You don't move an inch, not wanting to risk getting too close to him, because you don't know how much control he has over himself right now. But you don't back down, either. "No. This is about Odin, right? Screw him! You deserve better."
That makes him look at you. He sees you standing in his corner, even though you have nothing to do with this. But he also sees Tony standing in the doorway in his suit and Steve on your other side, without his shield but ready to step in if necessary. He feels Thor's gaze on him behind him. The men look at him with a mixture of waiting, wary and pity. Loki hates it. This is exactly what he wanted to avoid. He doesn't need to be handled.
You notice the shift in his aura, similar to when Felix died in the hospital. With your next words you get his attention back on you. "You want to smash things? Sure, I understand that. There are canyons we can go to. Just let's go together, okay? You promised me." Grasping at any straw, you reach out your hand for him to take.
Loki remembers and hesitates only for a brief moment. He prefers to be with you alone over being with these oafs of Avengers. The glow of his hands goes out and he slowly steps toward you. No one else dares to move, but the tension in the room is almost palpable. Only Thor suddenly looks much more relaxed and smiles.
Loki grabs your hand and the next moment you're both gone.
Tony breathes a sigh of relief. The witch still got it. "Jarvis, where did they go?"
"They are currently on the roof-deck," chimes the A.I.'s voice.
Thor steps up to him, his hammer leaning casually over his shoulder. "Stark, I take full responsibility. This has nothing to do with my brother's rehabilitation." He gestures to the resulting mess, but Tony waves it off while retracting his suit.
"I get it, Thor. I've never thought I'd say this but I understand Loki. Your father is really a dick, huh? I know that feeling all too well."
"Howard wasn't-...," Steve starts, but falls silent when he notices Tony's look.
"Let's not open that bottle, Cap, shall we? And don't worry, Manowar," he adds, turning back to Thor. "My insurance got that covered. But for the sake of my beloved tower, next time you want to talk about family with him, please go to that canyon."
He leaves the room to call construction and orders Jarvis to inform him in case Loki did something funny.
~~
Meanwhile Loki and you are standing on the roof terrace, still hand in hand. It's a beautiful day, sunny, but not too hot. Just the right amount of clouds in the sky and with a light breeze in your hair. And of course the noise of the city below you.
You're surprised that Loki transported you up here, but you don't ask about it. Instead, you turn to him and look up at him.
His face is turned away and he is looking at a point in the distance. You know what it looks like when old wounds cut open, relieving the same old fights.
You press a kiss on his cheek. "Hey, you with me?" It's a cautiously, gently question and he snaps out of his spiral of thoughts.
"Yes." His answer is as short as it is cold and he takes a step away from you. He's still angry, a mess of emotions. Loki was expecting it. He knew what Thor would tell him when he returned. Still, he would have liked to be taught better, had still had hope. After all, he is still the little boy who wants his father's approval. A snort escapes Loki. The recognition of his surrogate father. His biological father had abandoned him to die.
You give Loki his space, but squeeze his hand as a sign that you are there for him. "Family can be tough," you offer.
"You have no idea what it's like to be an outcast from your family. To not belong, no matter what you do. No matter how hard you try to please or get even a little attention." Loki's voice is venomous, his eyes narrowed like a snake's, ready to bite. It's defensive, you know he doesn't mean it. Or maybe he means it, but he'd be sorry for his tone later.
"You're right," you relent, looking at your intertwined fingers. "I'm glad that no matter what, at least I could always count on my family. On my siblings. But you have Thor. No matter what might have come between you two in the past, he's there for you now, supporting you."
"That's not the same thing. You don't understand. Your humans' lives are too short to understand some things. You are just too dull."
You inhale sharply by his rude words and your tone gets somewhat colder. "I'm not just a simple human," you remind him, but he laughs tonelessly.
"Of course you are. You just live a bit longer than the average human. But you're still one of them." Loki realizes he's derailing, but there's nothing he can do about it. It's like an out-of-control steam engine hurtling at high speed toward an abyss. And he's not only sitting in the front row, but shoveling coals into the fire to speed it up. It's absurd. He knows better. But he can't help it.
"You're adopted and that's bad, it complicates your life. But if you would just look out of your little shell of sulking, you would find that there are people who love you. Even within your family. And as for the rest: you are a prince. After all, they have to respect you for that. They don't hunt you down and kill you," you say more harshly than you intended, thinking about what just happened to Gabriel.
"I'm sure that they would just love to do that," growls the Asgardian.
"But they don't!" you exclaim and something snaps inside you. Loki seems a little surprised, you have never raised your voice to him like this. His expression darkens a bit more, a reflex whenever someone uses a tone towards him he doesn't like. But before he can even open his mouth, you continue speaking, angrily. "In the past, it wasn't just witch hunters we had to watch out for. I couldn’t stand out and I had to be careful who I trusted. So I know what it's like to live in a world where you're not wanted. They got me once and I pray I don't have to go through that again!" Your fingers slip from his and point accusingly at him.
"These witch hunters don't look like much of a threat to me," Loki says dismissively. "After all, here you are, standing before me, alive."
You stare at him. This is not the Loki you know. This one is cold, heartless with a total lack of empathy. Nothing suggests the kind and charming Asgardian you've become so familiar with. You don't know which of the two is the real one, how much of both is him.
You want to yell at him, you want to shake him, to get him back to his senses. But would that do any good? You're no longer responsible for him, you've quit and you're only by his side as a friend, as a lover. And this part of you is deeply hurt, and it shuts down. You don't feel like dealing with him at the moment. If he really wants to be an asshole, he can do it without your presence.
You open your mouth, but you don't know what you want to say.
A cruel smile creeps onto Loki's face, barely preparing you for his next, devastating words. "Cat caught your tongue? I thought you were so quick-witted. Or did those witch hunters damage your brain in the long run?"
You clench your hands into fists to stop yourself from smacking him. "Do you think your mother would be proud of you right now?" It may be a low blow, but you don't care. You don't even wait for an answer, you wouldn’t get it anyway. Instead, you turn around and swallow your tears as you walk away.
Loki's eyes follow you, the shock of your words bringing him back down to earth and leaving a sour taste in his mouth. He is aware that he has made a mistake. He just doesn't understand why he let this happen.
For quite a while he just stands there, shoulders slumped. The anger is gone from him - he gave it space, unfortunately against the wrong person.
With slow steps he starts to move, his eyes silently fixed on the floor, and returns to the prince's suite.
Thor is there. He is sitting on the couch with the television on. Nothing about his demeanor suggests that just twenty minutes ago he was destroying half a floor of the tower by fighting his brother. Next to him is a bowl of popcorn he made. In the microwave, of course. He wouldn't be stupid enough to use his lightning powers inside the tower for that. There wouldn't be much left of the corn afterwards.
He hears the door and Loki's footsteps. "Did you get it out of your system?" Thor looks up from the TV, but then sees his brother's expression and his face falls. "Oh no, Loki..."
"I made a mistake," the younger Asgardian mutters and drops down on the couch next to Thor.
Thor turns off the TV and turns to his brother. Loki has his head buried in his hands and Thor waits silently until he begins to speak. There is a pause, but Thor knows to be patient with his brother.
"How does mother put up with father? With everything he has done and is still doing?"
The question surprises the elder, but he thinks about it. "I guess she loves him and understands him, even if she doesn't approve of everything."
Another pause.
"How is she?"
"Good." Thor smiles gently. "She misses you, but she said you found something more dear to you since you don't write as often as you used to."
That is true. Since the Lunar Convergence, Loki has taken to pen and ink only sporadically. He has spent most of his time with you. A fact that makes him sigh. "I said some horrible things to her."
Thor frowns. "To mother?" Finally Loki looks at him and it clicks with Thor. "... Oh, I understand. Your Witchling." He says the word with a smile because it's Loki's nickname for you and he talks about you a lot. "So...?" he asks.
"So?..." Loki retorts.
Thor looks at his brother waiting, but nothing more comes. Loki has no further retort, but merely stares sadly at a point somewhere between the wall and the floor. Thor knows this look all too well, knows that a lot is going on in Loki’s head right now. It's a look that is often followed by a long self-isolation, because the younger Asgardian has never learned any other way to deal with the emotional chaos inside him. One would think that Asgardians would be wise and clever due to their long life, but the truth is that they are stubborn and take much longer to learn a lesson.
Thor is willing to nudge his brother in the right direction. By force, if necessary. "You said you made a mistake. So go, fix it." He reaches for the remote again, turns back on the TV, and grabs the bowl of snacks. Leaning back, he puts his feet up on the table.
Loki gives him a sour look. "It's not that easy."
"Good. Then it’s a challenge for once. You're always complaining that everything is so boringly easy here on Midgard," Thor replies nonchalantly. He has averted his eyes from his brother and watches the animated characters on the screen as if they were more interesting than what Loki is telling him.
Loki is gobsmacked by his brother's behavior, not used to him being so dismissive. "You seem to misjudge the situation."
"And you seem to be forgetting something important." He says this like it's something pretty obvious and throws a handful of popcorn in his mouth. "You're Loki, Prince of Asgard, worshiped as a god by Midgardians for centuries. Use your magic, use your silvertongue. Or don't. Maybe it's not worth it. You can watch the time of adventures with me." Thor gestures to the yellow dog on the screen.
Furious, Loki jumps up and glares at his brother. "There's nothing more worth it! I'll show you what I-..." He notices Thor's smirk and realizes that he stepped right into his brother's little trap. That sneaky bastard. He learned a lot from Loki. "Fine," the younger prince sighs, "You are right. There, I said it. Are you happy now?"
"I was happy to see you blossom at her side in these past weeks." Finally Thor is looking at his brother, his face nothing but honest. "It would sadden me if our family quarrel drove a permanent wedge between you. So, I mean it: fix it."
His brother's nod is enough for him as answer. "Do you want some of my popcorn? It's buffalo wing flavored." Thor holds the bowl out to him, but Loki makes a face in disgust when he sees the sticky brown texture. "Absolutely not."
"Your loss." Shrugging his shoulders, Thor shoves another handful into his mouth.
Loki steps up to the large panorama window, hands clasped behind his back, and ponders what he can do. He realizes he has gone too far. Normally he is a master of words, and knows how to use them in his favor. He made a mistake, but he'll be damned if he can't make things right again.
It's a sensitive subject for you, and Loki feels that it's not just the attack on your brother that's the reason. It must be something else. Something older.
Loki thinks about who he could talk to, who could tell him more about it. Because he is sure that you are not interested in talking to him or even seeing him at the moment. He has no contact with your siblings. Loki knows that he can get to your sister through the door portal in your room, but he doesn't want to use it. The risk of him stumbling over you is too high.
He can only think of one other person who might know something, and he doesn't like the prospect of that. Loki straightens his shoulders. It doesn't matter. If it will help him, he will do it. With renewed determination, he turns and strides with a "Thank you, brother" as he passes Thor, out of the room.
Thor smiles softly. "Anytime."

Lets assume the reason why Jason Voorhees keeps coming back is because there really is a death curse. You're in charge of the next movie(if it ever comes out) how would you break the death curse of Crystal Lake and bring peace to Jason's soul?
I have a couple of suggestions
Happiest Day. I am taking inspiration from Five Nights At Freddy's for this. Imagine Tommy tracks Jason down again and has a plan to kill him, but he's stopped by someone long thought dead. Alice Hardy. Alice points out no matter what happens, he keeps coming back. Crazy Ralph always said Crystal Lake had a death curse and Alice definitely believes it. So they're going to give Jason what he's been denied his whole life. The happy Camp Crystal Lake memories he was denied his whole life and reunite him with his mother. Jason's Happiest Day. I think a "Happiest Day" scenario could work because at the heart of things, Jason was a child who was bullied for being different and came back to see his mother murdered.
The lake is the source. Tommy Jarvis took it upon himself to answer that very question back in 1986. He decided that turning Jason's buried remains to ash would be the only way to send him to hell and break the curse. Unfortunately, he made the terrible mistake of failing to account for poor weather conditions, and he unwittingly resumed the curse all over again. A desperate last-ditch attempt to break the cycle by "sending him to the bottom of the lake" held the curse at bay for 7 years. But it wasn't until Jason was displaced from the lake entirely that the curse was broken. Jason knew this, and he knew he would never get back to the lake again and that the end was near. After one final round of carnage, Jason Voorhees finally surrendered to the element of Water and reunited with his mother.
Jason witnesses justice being done. Camp has already started when Jason comes back and through some reason (haven’t thought it out fully), another kid is in the water and struggling to stay above surface. Either one of the main characters or even Jason himself maybe saves the kid, and that’s enough to break the curse, since what should have been happened with Jason has finally happened.
Jason and Pamela's remains are cleansed by holy water while Tommy and all the survivors hack Jason's zombie form
Necronomicon. This Scenario would require a direct crossover with the Evil Dead. Because the Necronomicon appeared in IX, I think you could use that to explain the Death Curse. All the lives Pamela killed to bring him back wrong. Now Tommy and Ash team up to end the nightmare

do not read this if you are triggered by blood or suicide, ive been having issues lately and needed to vent-write
disclaimer: i love tony and all of the avengers and do not think he or they could ever be this mean but i needed to write something
tw: sh, suicide, bad parent, bad friends, steve is kind of a creep
my head hurt. bad. i walked out of my room and headed down the stairs in search of the tylenol, my gel knight encased in a plastic capsule. i paused, noticing that all of the avengers save sam and bucky were in the kitchen. i crept into the room quietly, hoping they wouldn't notice me, but i'm not exactly morgan. i'm tall. my dad's head whipped around. "what are you doing in here." i tried to swallow the dry lump in my throat as he glared at me. "just getting some water and tylenol. my head really hurts. i don't feel good." i wrung my hands behind my back so he wouldn't see, he didn't like it when i showed any feelings. "who's that tony?" i heard steve's voice float leeringly from his seat at the bar. "your daughter?" "actually, i'm--" "yeah, sadly. she's a worthless piece of shit. didn't really want her, but her mom dropped her off and here we are. she's really only useful for getting me things." tony replied casually. "dad!" i cried breathlessly, shocked at his nonchalance. i felt my eyes swim, the room becoming blurry as i angrily wiped the tears from my face. steve and nat snorted, clint turning away to hide the shaking of his shoulders. bruce was grinning widely as thor spoke to me. "aw, is the lady crying?" i looked at rhodey, wondering if even he hated me. the soft smirk on his face told me all i needed to know. "she looks so sad! tony, you should give her a hug!" nat said mockingly, sending the avengers into fits of giggles all over again. "you wanna know something i didn't?" i asked quietly. "sure, what is it? that the avengers could hate someone?" steve's eyes flicked over me, making me shift uncomfortably. "or that you're simply nothing to us?" bruce chimed in. i stayed silent for a few more seconds before i looked up at them. "when a heart breaks, it actually makes a sound." nat looked taken aback and tony looked mildly uncomfortable. i pulled off my sweatshirt, throwing it at him. "bury this with me, will you?" his eyes scanned me, amused. "this is your fault." i whispered, pointing at all of them. "you are the reason i died." they paused for a second, then started laughing. "you really think we're going to believe you? jeez tony, did your kid inherit any of the brain cells?" nat cried out. while they were all laughing at my expense, i left the room. i went downstairs, grabbing my shoes, my favorite leather jacket, and whisked out the door. i knew where i was going.
avengers pov: "wait. tony? where'd she go?" nat had been the first to stop laughing, now with a pit of anxiety brewing in her stomach. tony looked over at her, then the spot where his kid had been standing. "probably back up to her hermit hole. she rarely leaves it." he took another sip of the gin and tonic he'd mixed before glancing back over at her. "why so worried? weren't you just laughing at her threat?" nat shook her head, red hair bouncing. "but what if she was serious? tony, i know you dislike her but that's still your daughter." her leg was bouncing up and down, only to be calmed by bruce's gentle hand. "nat, leave it. it's nothing." suddenly, JARVIS sprung to life. "sir, i think there's something you may want to see." "throw it on the tv, JARVIS." tony replied to the AI. the tv in front of them sprang to life, showing the tracker he had on his kid. "she seems to be heading for the train tracks, sir." tony looked at the screen, confused. "let's go get her. it's probably nothing, but...yeah. it's probably nothing." the avengers grabbed their things and filed out the double doors.
your pov: this is it. this is the end. my end. i knew my dad didn't care enough, but to think the avengers, the heroes who protected this damn world, hated me too? it was too much to deal with. sighing, i pulled out the small switchblade i kept on my person at all times. flicking it open, i pressed the cool metal to my cheek and relaxed against the familiar feeling of the blade on my hot skin. i made a small incision on the side of my face, biting back tears at the burn it brought with it. all the sudden, i heard my name being called. well, not exactly my name, but i heard tony yelling, "kid! kid!" over and over again. i wanted them to watch. so i stood, facing the bright moon that lit up my soft skin, the harsh wind whipping my hair around. i gripped the knife, pressing it to my throat. i had one chance with this: i could leave and go with my father; or i could make him suffer with seeing the loss of his eldest daughter. either way, i was in a spot they definitely couldn't reach in time, even being the avengers. as i was about to make the cut, my dad stepped into the clearing, nat and clint at his sides, bruce, steve and thor standing behind them all. "kid? what are you doing all the way up there? get down, it's cold and i want to go home." i took a deep breath and shouted back over the wind. "i'm not coming home." "what do you mean you're not coming home? of course you are, let's go!" "i told you once, i can't do this again. i'm done dad. i am done." i held the blade up so they could see it shine in the moonlight. "i want to end it." my voice, strong and confident, cracked on the last syllable. "kid. stop playing games, it's not funny anymore." i could hear the panic in his voice, and i found a guilty pleasure in it. "no. you don't even know my name."
avengers pov: tony threw his hand out to stop clint from scaling the rocks and grabbing them. "you won't get to her in time." he stepped back, looking mildly upset. "well what do we do? she's not gonna come down!" he exclaimed angrily. "i'm gonna try and talk her down. if that doesn't work--" tony's breath caught in his throat as he saw the shine of the blade leave his field of view, most likely going for his kid's throat. "please don't!" he called out to her. "it's not...worth it?" he said, questioning his own sentence when he saw nat roll her eyes. "what? you try!" "gladly." she stepped forward. "hey, honey. please come down. we need you here with us." she pointed to tony. "how would you feel if you left your dad here all alone?" a chill went down nat's spine when she saw the smile that fell from their lips, dripping blood down the side of your face. "i'd feel amazing."
your pov: they couldn't possibly think that i'd listen to them after everything they'd done to me, could they? as i was contemplating it, i saw my dad usher clint forward out of the corner of my eye. the blade was to my throat and i had slashed it open no sooner than he'd taken four steps towards me. i heard a shriek as i fell, not sure if it was nat or possibly my dad. i let my body go limp as everything else went dark, i thought one thing before i hit the ground. "watch my heart break.."
avengers pov: tony tried sending clint while nat distracted her. it didn't work, since the second she saw him moving towards her, she'd slit open her throat and let herself fall down, trusting the wind to take her down safely. tony yelled at the same time nat did, knowing that she died before she hit the ground but also convinced that somehow yelling for her would somehow stop her from dying. he bolted towards her, racing to catch her before her body slammed into the earth. "nonononononononononono, pleaase no," he cried. "you can't leave, no!" his voice tapered into a whisper when he caught her, seeing all the blood spilling from the wound on her neck and staining his clothes. "oh my fuck. no." the rest of the avengers crowded around him, all of them in some state of disarray. "jesus tony." nat whispered. there was no response from stark. he simply curled himself around his daughter's body and cried harder than he ever had in his entire life.

Mine Truly - Part Three
Mahi’s POV
The rest of the day went by without seeing or hearing again from him. I hurriedly packed my things in my purse and left the small room when my mobile rang. It was Aryan’s call. “Hey Mishti, what’s up?”
I smiled at the nickname he gave me. “Ari, I am fine. Just leaving the Stark building. Why?” “Thank God you haven’t left yet. I will be there in 5 minutes and then we can go for a few drinks.” I thought about cancelling but then changed my mind and said yes.
I walked out of the building and as soon as I was out, I felt someone watching. I turned around but there was nothing. But suddenly someone grabbed me from behind and screamed in my ear. I couldn’t help but I screamed too. My heart almost jumped out of my chest.
In panic I moved my head backwards and hit the person on his nose. “What the fuck Mishti?” I stopped and looked back. “Aryan? What the hell is wrong with you.” He let go of me and moved his head back, holding his nose.
I was trying hard not to laugh. “Mishti, did you break my nose? Am I bleeding? Oh god, I can’t have a broken nose. Please no.” Okay I was laughing my ass off as he was being such a drama queen.
“Oh, nothing happened and no you are not bleeding. Ari, you should have thought twice before trying to scare me. That’s what you get when you try to be mean.” I stuck my tongue out at him and before I knew he picked me up. My hands landed on his shoulders. “Ari let me down. I swear if you let me fall I will…” “Oh come on Mishti, I would never let you fall. Have you seen my biceps?” I playfully slapped his cheek. “Okay mister strong, now let me down. I am hungry, I need food.”
He laughed because he knew food was my life.
No POV
Tony was in his lab, working on a new device, but his mind drifted back to Mahi. The way she spoke and looked at him drove him crazy. She was always so disrespectful like he is a nobody.
He didn’t want to be mean and rough to her, but her attitude always got the worst out of him. Tony wanted to date her like a nice guy and give her beautiful gifts and lavish dinners but every time he only got rejections.
Never before in his life had anyone rejected him, and the first time he let it slide, but she did it again and again.
The rock music was blasting in the lab, and he was working without any shirt only in his black wife beater. He took a big sip of his now cold coffee when one of his Iron man suits sent him some messages.
“Jarvis, get them on the big screen.” “Yes Mr. Stark.” Said the monotone British voice.
Within seconds many pictures popped up on the screen. Some were from the morning and the others were from this evening. Tony tapped on the screen and one of the photos became large. It was the one where a guy picked Mahi up in his arms and she had her hands on his shoulder.
She was smiling so carefree and beautifully at him. It made Tony’s blood boil in jealousy. The coffee mug was smashed against the wall.
He looked at the other pictures and she was mostly smiling or looking shyly at that boy. “Who the fuck is this? Jarvis, do you have any information about this fucker?”
Tony was breathing very hard, trying to control his rage. “Yes sir! He is the same person from Ms. Sharma’s Instagram profile. He is Aryan Khanna, a 25-year-old male. Both grew up together and have been childhood friends since kindergarten. From their social media accounts and the comments on their posts it is believed that they are dating. But neither had confirmed the rumours. Sir there is a video from him on his account where Mr. Khanna was openly declaring his love for Ms. Sharma. The video was made 3 months ago at a friend’s wedding.
Tony hit the table with his fist “Bloody fucker. How dare he look at her. She is mine and I will not let her be anyone else.” Tony watched the video of him proposing to her but somehow, he was a bit glad she didn’t say yes, but she didn’t even say no to him and that irked him more.
He enlarged another photo of them. It was from this evening. Both were having dinner in an Asian restaurant. She looked happy in the pictures. Tony was pissed, he was the one who should be with her right now and should have a wonderful evening. She should be smiling at him. He should be the only man who looked at her that way. “It’s time to learn the hard way love. You will come to me on your own. I am going to make you beg.”
He caressed her picture. “Jarvis, open her family’s file.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aryan walked in silence with Mahi. They were just a few metres away from her building. Mahi looked at him when she felt his eyes on her. Aryan took her hand in his and caressed her knuckles softly. Her heart was beating faster as he pulled her hand up and kissed the back of her hand.
“Mishti, you know how I feel for you, don’t you? I know you are worried that if it doesn't work out between us, our friendship will be destroyed. But I promise you no matter what your decision is I will always be your best friend, and nothing is ever going to change that.”
Mahi looked away from him. She wanted to tell him yes, but now there was the Stark problem, and she didn’t want Aryan to get into the line of fire. Mahi had a feeling that it would not end well for anyone.
“Aryan, I ... you are an amazing human being, and any girl would be lucky to have you as a boyfriend and partner in her life. But it scares me to think of what if it doesn't work out. I can’t lose you and...and Sweetu, she looks up to you. You are her big brother, after Papa you are the only one who she really listens to. I don’t want her to lose you if it doesn’t work.”
Unknowing to her a tear rolled down her cheek. Aryan softly wiped the tear away with his thumb. “That is the reason why I love you, you always put your family before anything else. You would do everything in your power to keep your loved ones happy. That's how I know it will work, because we both will make sure that this relationship will turn out perfect.”
Mahi was conflicted about whether to tell him or not to tell him about Tony Stark and his harassments. After thinking about the pros and cons she finally decided to tell him about Stark.
Before Mahi could say anything, the door opened, and her little sister came out running and hugged Aryan tightly. “Aaaarriiii, I missed you so much. You are now too busy to visit us.”
Aryan hugged the girl back, but his eyes were still focused on Mahi. He knew she was going to tell him something important. “Come on in and meet Mom before she leaves for the hospital. Mom will be happy to see you.”
The young girl pulled him inside, but he looked back at Mahi, and she nodded her head at him.
The next day
Mahi was somehow surprised not to see or hear from Tony. She was sure he would be lurking around the corner, but there was no sign of him the whole day.
His absence made her think about his warning, the more she thought about it, the more she was sure he was planning something.
The way he behaved with her in the past days, showed her that he was not going to leave her alone. She pushed all of his thoughts out of her mind and packed her things and left the room.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
She reached her home without running into Tony. She somehow felt a bit relieved that maybe now Tony will leave her alone and find someone who wants to be with him.
She opened the door and called out for her mother, but there was no reply from her. Even her sister's room was silent. As Mahi locked the front door and walked up to the living room. Before she entered, she could hear someone softly crying.
“Ma what happened? Why are you crying?” Mahi stood in front of her crying mother. Her baby sister was clinging to their mother. She took her mother’s hand in hers. “Tell me what happened?” Her mother pulled the scared girl's arms from her.
“The hospital reported me, because they found prescription drugs in a large quantity in my locker. They believe I took it from the stock to sell it on the street. The management terminated me without notice and they will report me to the authorities.”
Mahi hugged her weeping mother tightly. “Mom, we will find a way out. Please don’t cry. I will talk to Aryan, maybe he can help us. You have to be strong, we both are with you. We know you would never do anything like that. Sweetu, stay with mom, I will talk to Aryan.”
Mahi hurriedly took her mobile out of the purse and went to her room. It was ringing but he didn’t pick my call. Tears welled up her eyes as she sat down on her bed.
After a minute or so her mobile rang. “Ari I... I need your help. My mom, she got...”
“She has a drug problem, and the hospital will press charges against her, right love?” She snapped for air like someone had thrown a bucket full of ice water on her.
“Tony ... Tony what did you do?” That bastard just chuckled at her, like it was just a funny prank.
“Really, what did I do? No, what you made me do. You forced my hand, because you had to be stubborn and now your family will pay. First your mother, poor her. She will spend a good amount of her life in jail. Then there is your sweet sister, so innocent and young. Hey if you need money, you can always send her to the red-light districts. Your sister will make good money there and with the right pimp, she will ...”
“Shut up, shut up ... just shut the fuck up, you bloody pig. I will kill you.” Mahi hissed in her mobile. Tony only laughed at her outburst.
“I know a very exclusive brothel with many elite customers. She will be in good hands, and this is only the start. Wait till I start with your friends.” “Stop, just stop, please. Tony, don't do this to my family, please I beg you. You're Iron man, you’re supposed to be a hero and a good man.” She held the mobile tighter as she sobbed.
“Mmmm, yes, I am Iron man and a world known hero and you still disrespected and rejected me, like I am a loser.”
“What do you want?” “YOU. I want you tonight in my bed. If you don’t come, then I have to ...”
“No, I will come.” “Good girl, wear something sexy for me and be here by 9. You already tested my patience and I am done playing nice. If you are late tonight, your mother will be in jail and your sister will vanish without a trace. Am I clear?” Tears were running down her cheeks, her legs wobbled as she tried to suppress her cries with her hand.
“Say it!” She flinched, it took everything in her not to scream and throw her phone across the room.
“Yes, Tony. Please, just leave my family out of this. I will do anything for them. Just don’t hurt them.”
“Good girl. I can’t wait to have you in my bed. Oh baby, it’s going to be a very special night for us. I am waiting.”
With that the line went dead.
If you like it, leave comments and reblogs are highly appreciated!!!

[SteveTony] ’ you’re the best at anything and everything you do. ’
| Muse interaction
Tony felt like his brain was pulsing and just begging to break out past his skull. His eyes were dry and lids heavy craving to even blink because the few second his eyes stayed closed when doing so was enough of a rest for his poor blood shot eyes. Scratching at his chin as he finally needed to lean back in his chair. Leaning back over the back of it paying enough mind to make sure and ground his heels so he didn't tip back to far. Reaching to rub at the side of his head a moment letting his eyes close for longer than a blink. It slightly burned but it soon soothed over as he took a moment to rest. Hoping to massage his brain back into place.
"Jarvis run another diagnostic test okay?" When the artificial dry tone of Jarvis started to speak up ready to point out the results had been the same Tony was quick to snap in and interrupt "Yeah, I don't care i said do it again didn't I? I've been looking at this for as long as you been run the damn test now run the fucking text." Moving to sit up now he waits for it to start left to stare at the screen clearly not pulling it up he sighed and rolled his eyes. "Why did I make an AI with a attitude" he simply mutter under his breath as he drags his hand over his face. Before drop it to clap against his free hand deep breath taken in to better watch what he says next as he moves to speak.
"Javis, pal, amgio, buddy old pal? Please run it again?" when he sees the screen pop up he drops his head into his hands mumbling to himself about Jarvis being the one between them that seems to need some rest. When the doors to his lab seem to slide open. It goes ignored.
He's not all to sure how many from the team came to do a 'check in' on him lately but he also didn't care. Until he had this mattered sorted he was pretty much refusing to budge from his lab. If anything was wrong with any security of the tower well then Tony needed to fix it. Running through his mind of who he had dealt with so far he can easily wager a guess that they saved the best for last. Steve. The one of few people on the planet who seemed able to speak any sense into Tony.
"Blue wonder if the next words outta ya mouth have anything to do with taking a break save it." Moving to turn his chair so he can at least look at Steve right now. "I have heard it from everyone else, so don't go thinking it'll be any different just cause you flash those gorgeous blues my way. I've had much more flashed my way and ignored it just as easy." he simply groans after as he leans back to give his head some rest. The soft fabric against his head was nice "Steve you of all people should at least understand my side here." He tries to reason with them a little bit. "I make these security systems myself, why? Because I got kicked in the ass way to many times. So I gotta handle the stuff I trust only myself to do, so when those fall apart I got to find the problem!"
Tony clearly stresses on here. "I can't just sit around and be all well it was a one time thing won't happen again! I dine thar and guess what happened?" He pauses as if waiting for Steve to answer him. "Things went to hell! So no I can't rest and no I won't rest not till I get this so don't you start in on me too Steve." He really didn't mean to snap so much part of it clearly triedness wearing on him as caffeine was turly the only thing he was running on. Well, and his determination. And maybe a bit of hos ego was at stake as well. Not fully there was more going on in his head that he wasn't willing to nudge and express on why this security breech had rattled the man of iron so deeply.
’ you’re the best at anything and everything you do. ’
"Thank you!" Tony exclaims before dropping his head to the surface of the table. It did actually help a lot to hear as he rubbed at his tried eyes. "But not enough if someone got around my systems. Sure it was just the tower but I use these same systems everywhere. This was the best place to had thar issue at least in the towers there's always an Avagener or mini Avagener near to handle it." He gose on to express "it is the easiest system to get through because that's my fail safe. I don't have fail safes else where if they break through here..they can break through anywhere else."
Tony sighs a moment, "I'm the best uh blue wonder?" He asks back of course he only really noted it because of what Steve said as he moves to sit up looking more closely at the current loading bar Jarvis had running as the 100th diagnostic was currently going. "Got it!" He suddenly moves to stand up now. "Jarvis cut the diagnostic were heading down stairs." Moving to pat Steve's shoulder a moment "I owe you dinner on me clearly wear something nice. Love to flunt the arm candy around a bit" Tonynthrows out before taking off only really him and maybe Javris with a cule as to where he was running to now. But hey he seemed to have an answer meaning sleep would be soon.

The Journey Begins - Marvel Roleplay
Previously:
April chuckles and shakes her head, “I’ll just stay a wolf, it will be fine,”
“Maybe if they question it then I’ll just say that I tamed you,” Zöe said, slightly grinning, “Although this means that you can’t speak, you’ll have to… Woof?” She tried not to laugh.
April rolls her eyes and shakes her head, “Very funny,” she thought for a moment, “I’m not sure, I'll just have to stay silent.”
Zöe chuckles and shrugs, “I thought it was a pretty good one,” She smiled, “That works too, up to you though, I mean you could always just freak them out by being a speaking wolf,” Zöe laughed.
April shakes her head and sighs.
“We’ll see,” Zöe smiled, leaning back and laying down on the cave floor, her magic marks growing brighter.
Tumblr media
“Jarvis, what the heck is going on? What is that infuriating beeping?? It’s giving me a headache!” Tony Stark said, looking through a few different screens.
“It seems that someone has sent an emergency rescue signal by tapping through our firewalls,” Jarvis, the Al said.
“An emergency rescue signal? Bring up the location,” Tony said, slightly glancing behind him on the Helicarrier where Bruce Banner was watching what he was doing.
Bruce looked up at Tony, “Sorry hang on,” Bruce pressed a button and a screen popped up with the location.
That minute Steve Rogers had been pacing around when he heard the beeping, he walked into the other area of the ship and stood at the door. “What is that terrible sound and why won’t it stop!?”
“Thanks,” Tony said, slightly nodding at Bruce. He focused his attention on the location, “Oh, I know where this is,” he muttered. When Steve came in and spoke Tony slightly rolled his eyes and looked at him. “Oh, nice of you to come to help us,” Tony said with a little sass, “It seems that there is someone trapped inside of a mountain that collapsed about 30 minutes ago and they somehow sent us specifically a distress signal. Those rocks are gonna be hard to try and move, we’re going to need Jolly Green here’s strength, and you, Capsicle, are going to stay here on the ship and watch the live satellite footage and warn us of anything unnatural.” Tony said, already making up his mind about how this was going to be done.
Steve rolls his eyes and sits down in a chair, “Whatever you say, boss,” He replies in a sarcastic tone.
Bruce nodded and narrows his eyes, crossing his arms, “Jolly Green…?”
“Yes, Jolly Green, you’ll get used to the nicknames,” Tony said with his usual business tone to his voice, “Now, get suited, or should I say, get green- we’ve got people to save,” he said, turning around walking over to the door and down the Helicarrier’s hallway, he pulled up a screen in front of his face and called one of his many suits to the landing pad on the top of the Helicarrier.
Bruce stood there and looked at Tony, “You want me to turn into the Hulk, right now?” He asked, crossing his arms.
Tony slightly rolled his eyes, “No, if you do it now then you’ll set the entire place to lockdown,” He frowned, “It’s a figure of speech for let’s get going,” Tony smirked and tipped his head towards the door, “Shall we, Jolly Green?”
Bruce shook his head and followed Tony, “Let's get this over with,”
Tony nodded and went out the door. Before getting far he poked his head back into the doorway, “Oh, and Cap- Don’t break anything, I know that you’re pretty technology illiterate so,” he slightly snorted and then left, walking to the Quinjet and getting in. A random agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. was in the front.
Bruce follows Tony and looks outside of the ship, “So how do you plan on getting over there?”
Tony thought out his plan for a second, “Well, we’re going to on this plane, fly over the area, I’ll get into my suit at that point and I’ll lower you to the ground and then we’ll assess the situation and then you’ll get green,” He summed up, “Sound good?”
Bruce crosses his arms and sighs, “I suppose so,” He said following Tony towards the plane.
“Do you have a better Idea?” Tony asked, cocking his eyebrow and looking over his shoulder at Bruce.
Bruce rolled his eyes and looked at Tony, “No,” He said, opening the plane door and getting onto it.
Tony smirked, “See, that’s what I thought,” He lightly chuckles, “Let’s get rolling people!! Or should I say flying?” He smiled and waved a hand in the air as he got onto the plane. The pilot nodded and started clicking the buttons on the dash.
Bruce rolls his eyes, “It’s literally just us,” He said, closing the door of the plane and taking a seat up front.
“No, there’s a pilot, you have to acknowledge the pilot, you might hurt his feelings,” Tony said looking at the cockpit, at the pilot, “Actually I don’t think he can hear us anymore, but that’s fine.”
Bruce crosses his arms, “Let's get this over with.”
“Ooo, So grumpy,” Tony said, giving a slightly lopsided grin.

.:Now is Not the End:.
This is chapter one of my Jack Thompson fanfic Titled 'jack, get your gun' which was originally posted on Ao3 then Wattpad
fugitive.
by definition a fugitive is a person who flees or tries to escape in order to avoid arrest.
so in all honesty y/n’s brother, the howard stark, was in fact a fugitive. well was about to be.
his sister can understand why he was running, it wasn’t looking good for him, but now he just looked even more guilty.
everyone was looking for him. which inevitably meant in the near future all of them will look for her, his sister y/n. the hunt wasn’t working out too well for them because the whole time the two were with his loyal butler, who happened to be one of y/n’s closest friend, brainstorming ideas on how to get the attention of a certain SSR agent without getting caught.
for a genius howard could be extremely dense every now and then.
finally a plan was agreed upon:
write a note, give said note to person while she was distracted in a diner, wait with the knucklehead of a human in his car, and finally talk to the agent and get help with the sticky situation howard had somehow gotten himself into.
it seemed simple enough right ?
well apparently howard hadn’t accounted for the fact that this agent was on the suspicious side and that she can pack a good punch. or maybe he had and just decided not to warn his sister or his friend.
all this being said y/n now found herself stepping out of the passenger seat of one of howards many cars. a smirk that could give james barnes mischievous lopsided smile a run for its money played on the womens bright red-orange lips as her older brother said,
“i know. i should’ve called first. you miss me ?”
a soft scoff escaped the siblings lips.
“heya peg,”
hearing the soft brooklyn drawl and receiving the now trademark stark wink from the other female caused a soft smile to creep up on peggy's face even though the situation she was in called for anything but smiling.
in a few swift and smooth strides y/n was helping jarvis up to his feet while peggy and howard slid briskly into the back seat in case there was someone coming. with the same smirk on her face she raised a brow at jarvis as she helped him up.
then she opened her mouth to ask if hes okay however he beats her to it.
“we will not speak of this.”
he brushes some dirt off his jacket and then with his head held high he takes prideful strides towards the car.
“oh don't be like that jarvis,” the female stark take a few strides herself till she was at the passenger door looking over the car at her friend, “its not like that was your first time getting knocked to the ground by a women,” with that she opens the door with ease and sits in the seat.
a soft annoyed scoff could be heard outside of the drivers door followed by jarvis getting into the car and driving to the docks.
the very tense silence in the car was broke by peggy, who was still confused as to why she was here,
“they’re calling you,”she takes a sharp inhale and looks to the passenger seat,
“both of you a traitor,”
her voice was tight which gave away the fact that she didn't believe what was being said. which caused the other female to tilt her head ever so slightly towards her friend but she quickly turns back to look at the road.
“im calling it a setup,”
silently y/n looked to the driver, who was trying to act very concentrated on the road, but yet again she promptly looked back to the road.
“i have a vault-”
not even thinking twice about it the other stark corrected him.
“-had,”
“right right i had a vault. sub-basement of my office,” he paused for a short beat,
“Triple-thick, lead-lined. it was where i kept my bad babies.”
“bad babies ?”
that single question caused an almost transparent smile to tug at y/n’s lips.
“inventions too dangerous for anyone. even my friends.”
“which begs the question, why invent them at all.”
“i cant help what i think of, but i can damn well control what i sell. at least i could until last month.”
subconsciously the younger siblings jaw clenches which makes the barely visibly smile disappear.
“i was in monaco,” he takes a beat as hes always been one for the dramatics, “with a lovely tax advisor. when i got back, i found a hole under my vault, all the way to the sewer. a couple of weeks later, my bad babies, they start turning up on the black market.”
“but why run ? why not tell the senate the truth, ask for their help “
she had a point.
in fact a couple of hearings ago y/n thought the same exact thing.
“apparently, its not too big a jump to see me cutting a hole in my own vault and making some money on the sly,” after a second his voice is filled with disbelief  “really ?”
peggy had obviously made a face or nodded for him to react that way. which made some more of the tension in the car evaporate. it also allowed the other female to realize that if she clenched her jaw any harder her teeth might break. so while peggy said something about angles  y/n let out a soft breathe through her mouth to somehow allow herself to relax.
“now thats the peggy carter we need.”
for what ?”
“to clear the stark name.”
“you can’t be serious.”
“i try not to be but sometimes it slips out anyway,” he must have realized that his so-called charm wouldn’t get him out of this one because less then a second later his tone changed completely, “oh, come on, peg. you know darn well y/n or i didn't do this, which means the ssr is looking for the wrong guy. i want to find the right guy. but im gonna need someone on the inside, someone i can trust. and, peg, theres no one i trust more than you.”
ouch that bruised my ego.
nevermind its all good i’m over it already. y/n thought.
“howard, you’re asking me to become a traitor in order to prove the both of you are not one. you do see the irony ?”
“she's got a point,” finally the other stark interjects and looks to the back seat to see her brother flash a glare directed at her but then look back to peggy his face etched with desperation. this causes y/n to look back at the vast city and road in front of her.
“oh, come on, peg. i know they’re not using you right over there. you want a mission that  matters ? this is it. my technology in the hands of some nut that wants to be the next red skull. you have no idea how bad that could be. right now, you’re the only one that can stop that.”
finally we arrive at the docks and jarvis slows the vehicle just as howard raises his voice ever so slightly.
“here’s good,” just as instructed jarvis parks the car, “kill the lights.” once again jarvis complies.
all four of the passengers get out. however howard and peggy head to the trunk to get his bag. quickly howard walks down to the actual dock where his boat is with peggy trailing behind him. y/n and jarvis decide to stay back a little to give the two friends privacy. plus the two had already said their goodbyes.
crossing her arms over her chest y/n looks out at the city that is now light up like a christmas tree. out of the corner of her eye she sees howard glance up at the direction where her and jarvis stand. slightly confused by this she looks to jarvis and he attempts to give the women a comforting smile. though y/n could tell he was just as upset over howard leaving as she was. she attempts to return the favor though her smile was more convincing and visibly eased his nerves.
when she looks back to where peggy and howard stood she sees that howard was already in the boat riding off into the distance. y/n takes this chance and walks down the ramp and stands on the end.
“nice to see you too, howard.” peggy's soft voice barely reaches the younger starks ears.
the comforting smile plays on the woman's lips once again, “i swear our parents raised him in a literal barn. he has absolutely no manners.”
peggy turn to her friend with a smile of her own,
“i think hes just used to you going around and making amends for him.” she starts walking up to y/n as she  move out of her way with an obvious fake shocked face.
“miss peggy carter,” she trails behind her up the ramp, “are you blaming me for my brothers lack of manners?” she puts emphasis on me and my to lighten the mood and to sound more dramatic.
“oh no, i would never even dream of it.” both women chuckle at her sarcastic tone but it quickly dies down when the two are at the top of the ramp facing a very nervous jarvis.
“the next time you approach a woman in a dark alley, you might introduce yourself.”
the younger stark hums softly in agreement and gives jarvis a sly smile.
“well, i shall endeavor to remember that, provided my concussion isn’t too severe.”
y/n walks around the car and gets into the passenger seat as jarvis hands peggy a card with his phone number. a few seconds later the back door is opened for peggy by jarvis as he asks,
“what now, miss carter ?”
then with her natural grace she says while getting into the car,
“now i go to work.”
a peaceful car ride, with y/n and peggy chit chatting the whole way through, later the car is now parked outside of peggy's apartment building. y/n turns and looks to her a smile on her face that jarvis hasn’t seen in a long while,
“see you around, peg. if you need me call jarvis he’ll put you through to me.”
“will do, y/n/n.” with that peggy gets out of the car before jarvis can open the door for her.
shaking her head at the nickname and her actions she turns back around to jarvis.
he sighs and raises a brow at his friend ,“will you be staying at the house, miss stark?"
“i don't see why not. scratch that. i do see why i shouldn't, however i don't  care.”
and with that jarvis drove back home with a small smile on his face as the two listen to the radio.

(if this is allowed) I wonder how Avengers (and Loki) would act if they were yandere for the reader?
The Avengers disappeared and were replaced by their evil doppelgänger (the Downfallers) which seem to be obsessed with you and you're the only one who knows…Enjoy. (I couldn’t imagine the true Avengers as evil/yandere, so I just decided to take their doppelgängers from another universe)
Tumblr media
Your tormentor and very demanding boss was out of town for Valentine's day and you decided to give yourself a very much deserved break by going to a nightclub/library/the theater/what's fun for you..However, you didn't plan on receiving a text at midnight from said boss saying he was back at Stark tower because his trip got canceled and beyond pissed not to see you there..You quickly gathered your things and ran as fast as you could, not fast enough considering the face that your boss showed you the moment you got out of the elevator.
"Where were you ?"
You held your head high and confidently replied.
"With all the respect I owe you, sir..That is none of your business. I had plans tonight and told you 2 months ago, but you still insisted on me doing extra hours tonight.."
However, unlike what you had previously thought, Tony didn't snap at you and the only warning you got was a slight twitch of his jaw before he grabbed your throat, not tight enough to actually choke you, but enough so you couldn't move as he smirked.
"Yeah…No. See ? You’re only making things harder for yourself, sweetie. Now, tell me. Who is it ?"
You opened your mouth to speak, but you couldn’t seem to form one sound as Tony’s gaze almost pierced through though, leaving burning ice wherever his eyes travelled. He sneered.
"I waited..I’m a very patient man, sweetheart. But, I am not going to let that pretty face get out there and make Bambi eyes at whoever shows a little interest.."
Your breath hitched as he sudden crashed his lips upon yours. Your eyes widened and you tried to get away, but he wouldn't let you. You finally bit his bottom lip harshly and he hissed. You took your chance and ran for the door, but the door closed on you.
"Jarvis ! Open the door !"
You yelled, but the A.I didn't answer and you started trying to open the door manually, but then felt someone carry you off the ground and no matter how much you kicked and screamed, Tony wouldn't let you go. He finally threw you on the couch and caged you between his arms before you could sprint off again. Tony's smile seemed so cold it sent shivers down your spine as he looked down at you and you tried to slap him instinctively. However, his reaction to the slap was unexpected as he addressed you a dark smile and ordered Jarvis :
"Jarvis. Close the doors..All of them. Mrs/Mr Y/N and I have a lot to talk about..They will not leave this room without my permission. Total lock down."
"Yes, sir. Total lock down engaged."
At his command, you finally gave up, knowing that there was no way you could escape the man..not when even Jarvis wouldn't listen to you. Tony seemed almost disappointed by your lack of fight, but he asked again.
"Who were you with tonight, hmm ? Some boyfriend or girlfriend I should know about ?"
His voice had a dangerous edge to it, like an invisible knife pressed against your throat and his eyes turned to dark pools where you could see your reflection. One wrong word. One wrong word and you would be trapped in that tower forever..You gulped loudly, you chest heaving rapidly as you tried to find your words.
"I..I was at f/p.."
You finally answered and Tony tilted his head to the side to have a better look at you. He then gently tucked back a strand of your hair and licked his wounded lip, the metallic taste reminding him of that savage part in you, that dark side which pulled him in each time and turned him into this mess of a man..He smiled at the bitter pleasure he felt rise in his chest as your eyes stared at his lips and something shone in them..something dangerous. He sighed before taking a step back and, to your surprise, asked Jarvis to open the doors. You stared at the open doors, but your feet were stuck as your eyes came back to Tony who smirked knowingly.
"I knew it. You don't really want to escape, do you sweetheart ? After all...You don't have anywhere else to go. No one would believe you if you said that I wasn't the real Tony Stark of this world..And, even if they did ? I would kill them"
He demanded you come closer by flexing and unflexing his finger and suddenly, your legs seemed to work again and you were soon in the arms of the man you wanted so desperately to escape from, a smug smile forming on his lips.
"See ? You're already mine, Y/N..I should actually thank the other one ? He did all the work and I got the reward.."
He tilted your head upwards, his mesmerizing and magnetic black eyes pulling you in as he kissed you again. You knew it was wrong. You knew you should resist. But...You missed Tony. Yours was gone and you wanted to feel good again. He teased you by remaining close to your lips, but not closing the gap, wordlessly asking you to do it for some sadistic personal reason: to humiliate you further. You closed your eyes and finally indulged and kissed him. He hummed appreciatively before pulling away.
"Finally..I have everything."
He said with a large grin and best part was ? You were the one who gave it to him. He was glad his flight got canceled..because otherwise, we would have missed the opportunity to witness your defeated expression. The Tony Stark of this world had been foolish to seek after the wrong woman for so long and had waited too long for his reward with you, but he wouldn't make the same mistake. He was a wolf and he would take everything the other one had been too afraid to ask for. He would take over this city, and most importantly: you.
Tumblr media
Bruce was unhappy, and it showed by how his eyes were piercing holes at the back of your head as you were talking to Tony. Tony noticed and decided to leave you two some alone time..As soon as he was out, you felt two arms wrapping themselves around you and smiled before turning around, expecting to find the kind eyes of your husband, but your smile suddenly fell when you saw the obvious bulging green veins and the flashing green eyes. Okay..He was upset. He suddenly took you by the back of the neck to crash you lips together and you squealed in surprise, but it only added to his pleasure as his other hand came to rest on your hip and gave it a light squeeze, delighted to hear another squeal from you.
"I'm going to make sure you forget all about Tony Stark after I'm finished with you..The only name you'll remember will be mine.."
You wanted to protest but he trapped your lips in a searing kiss and thrusted his hips against yours, earning a small moan from you. He chuckled.
"Glad to hear you, but I don’t think Tony heard you ?"
Your eyes widened as you understood what he intended to do and another type of scream was about to leave your lips, but he muffled any sound of protest you could have uttered by clapping his hand firmly against your mouth, ignoring the tears.
"Hey hey…Ssh…None of that. You don’t want to make me angry now, do you ?"
You had no choice but to accept and Bruce smiled, satisfied. He would never hurt you, not his little angel..But, the other one ? That was another story. He gently ran his fingertips over your thighs and smirked almost devilishly as he saw your dark green stockings.
"My my..Were you expecting this ? You truly are a tease.."
You tried to escape again, but his hand gripped your thighs, making sure you wouldn’t try anything and he started kissing your neck. He was still your loving husband under all this anger, you had to remind yourself. You closed your eyes and braced yourself for pain or being crushed by the giant, but you opened them when a sweet fragrance reaching your nose. You looked down and found a rose in Bruce’s hand.
"But first..A little bit of romance."
Your heart jolted as he suddenly took a step back and gave you a little box which you opened and your eyes widened at its content. A lock. Your lips trembled as you knew what it meant, what it symbolised. When you raised your eyes to meet his, he gave you a wide grin, the green sparkle of insanity flickering in his gaze.
"Well ? Aren’t you going to thank me ?"
He asked expectantly and you closed your eyes, a single tear rolling down your right cheek as you opened your mouth to answer him, but the words felt like acid in your throat.
"Th…Thank…"
You couldn’t.
"You’ll be with me forever, Y/N..Wasn’t that what you wanted ?"
Your dearest dream turned to a nightmare. He wasn’t the Bruce you had fallen in love with, he would never be..This was whatever thing was inside of him.
"No..The man I loved died the day you arrived."
His eyes darkened at the mention of his other him and he gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing green as the voice of the other one mixed with the man.
"Pathetic man…Pathetic hero..."
"Dont you dare say he was pathetic ! He was my hero !"
He glared at you before grabbing your jaw to force to look at him in his eyes. That was it. He would transform at any second and crush your jaw and bash your brains out..You closed your eyes, but the feeling of rough lips against yours forced them right open. You hit his chest repeatedly to make him let go, but he only deepened the kiss and bit your tongue. Your hissed and finally succeeded in shoving him off you. However, he only chuckled before licking the blood off his lips, panting in rythm with you as he breathed out.
"This way..You'll never be able to speak his name again. Remember. He's gone. I'm here."
You just wanted to hold your old Bruce back. You wanted him to tell you that everything would be alright, but he would never come back. You let out a shaky sigh before finally succumbing.
"If I..We do this..I want you to promise me not to hurt anyone else..Deal ?"
Fake Bruce looked at your extended hand before shaking it with a victory smile.
"Deal."
Tumblr media
You waited for him, you knew he would find you, especially today..He never failed to find you to declare his undying love for you on the day your Stephen had disappeared..It was only a matter of seconds before you felt the familiar whoosh of his cape behind you. It was over…The game of cat and mouse would end today. You felt his arms encircle your waist from behind. Then, his voice made its way to your ear as he kissed the side of your face.
"Hello darling..Missed me ?"
You did, you missed your old Stephen everyday..This Stephen was too scary. This Stephen was not the one you wanted to see today..but, it was the one who showed up and when you turned around, the realization only hit you harder as Stephen's eyes looked so sharp and desperate..You whimpered, but Stephen shushed you and gently ran his fingers along your cheeks soothingly.
"Ssh..You knew I would find you eventually. We’re going back home, darling."
You kept your tears to yourself, as it wouldn’t help you. You knew that you couldn’t say no and no one was stronger than Stephen Strange.
"I'm sorry..I was just so worried. I searched everywhere for you.."
He kept kissing your face, your neck, your collar bone..Your shivered at his touch. Even after everything he had done, he was still your husband.
"Don't do this, Stephen..I can't do this anymore."
Suddenly, he stopped his kisses and tightened his grip on you almost painfully.
"You don't love me anymore ?"
He asked with such desperation that it took your breath away and you couldn't help but shed a few tears, knowing that that would break his heart, but to lie was the only solution for him to finally set you free.
"No. Stephen. I don't. I'm scared of you."
He groaned and turned you around, in order to face you as he yelled.
"WHY ARE YOU LYING TO ME ?!"
"I'M SCARED OF YOU ! You're not the man I fell in love with ! You'll never be him !"
You shouted back and Stephen shook his head before grabbing you by the shoulders to force you to look him in his eyes, these two beautiful blue eyes that used to symbolize love and hope.
"But, I could ! If only, you would let me ? I am as powerful as him, I have the same physical appearance, the same personality..What does he have that I don't ?! What more do you want from me ?!"
He asked, frustrated. He had done everything to be with you, to be the person you wanted him to be. And, even though ? Everytime you looked at him, he was painfully reminded that he wasn't who you wanted him to be...He would probably never be. You then cried out.
"I want my Stephen !"
"I am your Stephen !"
He yelled back and immediately regretted raising his voice at you when he saw tears running down your cheeks, your breathing quickening as the realization hit you. He wanted to be your Stephen back, to be the hero you wanted him to be. But, it was too late. You sobbed and covered your nose and mouth to stop the miserable sad whimpers from coming out. Stephen embraced you and it was warm and comforting. You buried your face in his chest and couldn't find the strength to push him away any longer. All of your futile attempts to make him disappear had failed and you were just too tired of fighting.
"You'll see..I'll be a better Stephen than he ever was."
He whispered his promise to you and it only fueled your love and hate for him, because even though he wasn't your Stephen, he still reminded you of him...and that he would never come back. You didn't even fight when he tilted your head upwards in order to kiss you tenderly on the lips.
"You'll be happy..I promise."
You wanted to believe him so badly that it almost convinced you. Almost. You got out what you were hiding...a small empty vial. Stephen frowned in incomprehension until the realization hit him. He smiled sadly before tenderly stroking your cheek.
"Oh darling...You know that that won't work. I will bring you back. I always do."
It was true. It wasn't the first time you tried to end your life..Every year. At this exact moment. The day your Stephen disappeared. But, each time, this Stephen came to save you. He wouldn't let you go. Never. You closed your eyes and a single tear ran down your cheek, you felt the poison taking effect as your vision blurred.
"I know...but, just for a moment, I can pretend that my Stephen will come and save me. I can hope.."
You could see the clear hurt and guilt in his eyes, but it didn't matter. He kissed your temple lovingly before whispering in your ear.
"One day. One day, you will learn to love me.."
You smiled bitterly at him before replying wistfully.
"Maybe...but not today."
He smiled back sadly before using the eye of Agamotto, his last word floating in the air like a promise.
"Soon..."
You closed your eyes, waiting for what you knew was to come. When you opened them again, the pain was gone, and so was Stephen. You let out a shaky breath and slumped into a nearby chair. His last word repeating inn your mind. Soon, soon, soon...Soon, you would betray your Stephen. You broke into tears.
"I'm so sorry, Stephen. I'm not as strong as you.."

"L…Loki ? W..What is going on ?"
You looked at the lifeless body of Thor at his feet with horror and Loki turned around, his eyes glowing with manic glee and addressed you a wide grin, shrugging as if it was nothing.
"I got rid of dead weight…"
In an instant, he was on you and started kissing you passionately.
"I wasn't going to let this pathetic excuse of a brother marry you. Odin be d*mned !"
Your breath hitched as Loki uttered these words...words that weren't his. They couldn't be. This wasn't the man who read to you when you were sick, who shared your pain in your darkest hours..He couldn't be.
"W..Who are you ?"
The mischievous grin he addressed you next made you shiver in fear, you then understood that your assumption was correct as he took a couple of steps back and cackled, his arms wrapped around his middle as his laugh became louder and louder.
"I fooled everyone ! I fooled everyone but you ! I knew I couldn't fool you, my sweet sweet princess.."
He attempted to touch your cheek, but you slapped his hand away, hit tears running down your face now à you understood that you would probably never see your Loki again.
"Y..YOU MONSTER !"
You screamed and started crying as your eyes then fell on Thor's body. You fell to your knees and shook him desperately, hoping that the god would rise up again, but you had to face the truth: he would never stand up again. However, hope still made its way into your heart as a thought passed through your mind that it was maybe one of Loki's trick and you whispered.
"I'm sorry, Thor. Please. Wake up."
You implored him, but when your touched his cheek, it wasn't an hologram that came to meet your touch, but the cold lifeless skin of your dead friend. You kissed his forehead lovingly and stood back up with your fists clenched, glaring unforgivingly at Loki.
"H..HOW COULD YOU ?!"
He kept his cruel smile on his face, not even pretending to care as he only shrugged.
"It was only fair..He took everything from me..He was also going to take you away and I just couldn't let him. You're mine, Y/N. You've always been."
Suddenly, he closed his eyes and raised his arms, his blue complexion replacing his human one and fiery red eyes replaces his beautiful green ones. You took a couple of steps back in fear and he narrowed his eyes before closing the gap between the both of you and grabbed your jaw, forcing you to look at him in the eyes, his eyes glowing with fury and, for a second, you also saw pain. You had to remind yourself that this wasn't your Loki, that you couldn't help him or even feel sorry for him, or it would be the end of Asgard. He seemed to read your thoughts as his grip tightened and the expression in his eyes hardened.
"The king is dead ! They can’t keep us apart anymore ! I'll kill Odin if he dares keep us apart and with Thor gone..This kingdom is mine. As much as you are.."
You didn't satisfy him with an answer and only gritted your teeth, the sword at your hip glowing as if she knew you would soon have to use her..Then, Loki's next words froze you to your core.
"Kneel to your king.."
You closed your eyes. Here it was..Your Loki would have never asked you this. Undeniable proof that this stranger would never be able to replace him.
"What am I to kneel in front of the king of blood and sorrow ?"
You grabbed your sword and used the hilt to make him let go and even cut him. He hissed in pain and held his bloody hand before looking back up at you, his black strands not hiding the hurt in his eyes.
"I did this for us..I thought you loved me ?"
The desperation in his voice made your heart squeeze in your chest. He looked so sad and he used your moment of weakness to try to attack you from behind by using his magic against you, but you knew better. You turned around swiftly and raised your sword just in time to stop the real Loki from stabbing you. Your weapons clashed and you both struggled to keep your balance under the strength of the impact.
"I do..But, this ?! This is madness !"
You finally answered his earlier question and Loki didn't answer, only screamed in rage before attacking you once more. You ducked his attack and rolled on the ground before standing up again. However, he was fast and you barely had the time to dodge his next blow, which left a cut to your cheek. You were now both panting and Loki shouted.
"I don't want to do this ! You left me no choice, my love ! I will have you and Asgard at my feet !"
He then multiplied and your eyes couldn't keep track of all his clones. You were cornered, your feet hitting the end of the bridge, the endless void behind you and Loki in front..You were trapped. You knew you couldn't win against him and his magic and threw your sword to the floor. He took your action as an act of submission and smile, but his smile faded when you took a step back towards the void. You then threw your final ultimatum at him.
"You can't have both, Loki ! It's me, or Asgard ?!"
Loki seemed to be thinking of a solution to have both, you wouldn't let him. You closed your eyes and finally, let yourself fall backwards. Suddenly, Loki's clones all disappeared, leaving only one to grab your arm before you could fall to your demise.
"YOU ! I CHOOSE YOU !"
He cried out and you smiled. Finally..You finally got to see your Loki. His expression of genuine fear at the thought of losing you and tears of relief fell down on your own face..He chose you. He then pulled you up and embraced you tightly.
"I choose you..I'll choose you every single time."
He repeated and you burst into tears of joy, tightening your grip on him.
"Me too.."
Tumblr media
"Peter..What did you do ?"
You asked, horrified as you saw the shattered glass on the floor from where Mysterio was more than likely pushed through..
"He was going to steal you away..Please. You have to understand."
Peter said in a weak voice, imploring you to stay and understand, but when he raised his hand to touch you, you cowered in fear from his touch. Something snapped. His eyes that were so gentle and begging for forgiveness a moment before became hard and tears of rage ran down his cheeks..
"He was going to betray us..Why can't you understand that I'm the one who loves you the most ?! Nobody will love you like me !"
You took a couple steps back, but he used his spider web to trap you. You started shouting for someone to come and help you, but he also gagged you with the same sticky substance. He then stood up in front of you, close enough to see his cold smile and you couldn't believe that they were right, they were all right..Peter Parker was a monster. A villain. He gently traced the side of your face before whispering.
"I really wanted the illusion to last..I wanted you to see me as your Peter forever. The love you gave me ? I'm addicted..I'm addicted to this life of happiness the other Peter had..I was so jealous of him."
The other Peter ? Your eyes widened as the realization hit you. He wasn't the Peter of this universe ! This was why he was acting so strange..But, then, where was your Peter ? Cold sweat ran down your spine as the worst case scenario ran through your head. He seemed to understand your fear and crouched in front of you with a knowing smirk.
"You’re thinking about him, aren’t you ?"
Peter then looked at the mask in his hands before answering your silent question.
"Truth is ? I don’t know what happened to him..I just woke up one day and found myself in this universe."
He seemed genuinely lost and you couldn’t help but feel bad for him, knowing that he probably missed his universe and was just searching to get back, just as much as your Peter surely was ? You wanted to offer your help, but his next words left you paralysed. He looked up with a small grin and shrugged.
"I thought it would be a pain to pretend to be a hero ? But, truth is ? I kinda like it. I got friends here. I got a family..But, most importantly, I got you.."
He tenderly stroke your cheek, his eyes making a mental map of your face as he couldn’t stop marvelling at the only thing that didn’t exist in his world…You. You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath. For all this time…You had been sharing your life with an imposter. He wasn’t your Peter and had just killed Mysterio just because he had talked to you..Peter then saw your urge to speak and decided to indulge by removing the spider web from your mouth. Your first instinct was to cry out.
"Why, Peter ?! I could have continued believing…You just had to keep doing good. You said you wanted his life ? What do you think will happen when they catch you ?"
He shushed you by bringing his finger up to your lips and gave you a twisted smile, a smile which wasn’t at all like your Peter’s.
"He tried to kill me…I wasn’t going to kill him but, he then threatened you. He was going to kill you. I wasn’t going to let him hurt my angel.."
Your saliva got stuck in your throat at the news and you leaned back, tired of being disappointed by heroes…by everyone. You should have known that this Mysterio was too good to be true and it made you reconsider your opinion towards the new Spiderman standing in front of you, waiting patiently for your next words.
"I just…want to go home."
He seemed to lighten up at your suggestion before taking you in his arms.
"Sure thing ! We're going home, darling."
You closed your eyes...You didn't mean with him.
"Please. Just, let me go, Peter."
He pressed you even closer against his chest and shook his head.
"No. Never..I will never let you go, Y/N."
You then both fell into the void and Peter used his spider web to jump from building to building. You unconsciously kept him close and buried your face in his neck. He may not be yours, but he was still Peter..Your treacherous heart kept beating for him and he knew..He tightened his hold on you and whispered in your ear.
"I'll keep you safe. Forever."

"I love you.."
It was the third time Bucky was telling you that today and you could feel that something was terribly wrong with your partner.
"Bucky..What's going on ?"
He sounded like a helpless puppy and you wondered where your fearless Bucky had gone to ? He held his head low and looked like he was about to collapse. You approached him and tried to touch him and this is when you saw it...The fear. He was afraid of something. You gently put your hands on his shoulders and tried to comfort him.
"Hey..What's going on ?"
He didn't answer and you decided to cheer him up by kissing him. He tensed up, but slowly relaxed against you. You smiled and raised your hand under his chest, only to be met with a set of scars that weren't there before..
"Bucky ? What happened ?"
He suddenly scooted away from your touch and repeated, shaking so much that ulule could feel it.
"I'm sorry..I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry..I just..I just wanted to have someone."
He looked so distressed and on the verge of tears and you decided to get answers, so you asked firmly.
"Bucky ! Slow down ! You're not making any sense.."
He then raised his blue eyes up at you and burst into tears.
"I..I killed the captain !"
Your eyes widened at the news.
"W..What ? Why ?"
He started crying and fell to his knees.
"He hurt me..I..I thought it was my Steve, but..He wasn't. I..I thought he was going to hurt you and I..I couldn't let him. I'm so sorry."
Your heart thumped in your chest as you took a couple steps backwards. He raised his eyes, terrorized at the idea that you would leave him too and extended his hand towards you.
"No ! Please, stay ! Don't leave me !"
"You’re sick, Bucky !"
You replied and attempted to leave, but he was faster and tackled you to the floor.
"I’m sickly in love with you..You make me sick, Y/N..I love you so much..I left everything behind to be with you."
He tried to touch you, but you slapped his hand away.
"You're not Bucky..My Bucky would have never killed Steve."
He gritted his teeth and you felt tears fall down on your face as he backed away frown you and hid his face behind his hands.
"You don't understand..My Steve is not like this one. If he finds me and sees you ? He will kill you."
You stood up and looked at the door. You could go and leave him behind..You could warn the other Avengers and make him rot in a cell forever..But, when you turned around to face him, his eyes staring at you and begging..You realized you couldn't do it. That he was your Bucky or not; he was hurt and needed help.
You finally crouched in front of him and sighed.
"Why ? Why were you so worried about me ? You're not my Bucky. We barely know each other..So, why ?"
He looked away guiltily before finally admitting.
"I felt as if you were someone important to me right away..I felt this need to protect you and I..I just didn't want to be alone. You felt good and I..I just wanted you."
Your eyes softened at his confession. He was maybe crazy, but he was still your Bucky in a way..You then took him in your arms.
"I'm sorry..It must have been tough."
He opened his eyes wide before sobbing and nodding before gripping your sides and burying his face against your shoulder.
"I'm sorry.."
He kept apologizing and you tried to soothe him by gently running your fingers through his hair.
"Ssh..I know. I know."
He sounded so miserable and broken, deep down, you hoped that maybe, with time, you would be able to put the pieces back together and get your Bucky back..

Everyone was there for Sam’s funeral and they all gave you their condolences, Scott refusing to leave your side and acting like a true friend during your period of grief. He brought Cassie to cheer you up and brought you everything you needed while you were too weakened by sorrow to even go outside. He was so sweet with you that you quickly got used to him and, little by little, even grew feelings for him. However, one day that Cassie was here, she jumped into your arms and pretended to hug you before whispering in your ear.
"This isn’t my dad.."
You thought it was a joke at first, but when you looked at her distraught face, you realized she was serious. You then looked up at Scott who still had a bright innocent smile onn his face while his own daughter was hiding behind you. Scott tried to get to her, but you stood between them.
"Cassie..Go upstairs."
She quickly did as told and ran upstairs, Scott following her with that same innocent smile on his face which almost looked too perfect to be real...It was as if he was wearing a mask.
"Scott..Is there something you'd like to tell me ?"
Scott turned towards you and giggled. He giggled like a mad man and then stepped forward until he was so close you could see your reflection in his green eyes. You held your breath and he tilted his head in an almost childlike manner.
"I was wondering when you would finally realize ?"
"R..Realize what ?"
You stammered and his grin enlarged until you thought it would split his face in two.
"Come on, "honey". You know that that Falcon accident wasn't really one, right ?"
Your eyes widened and you gasped at the realization.
"It...It was you ?!"
He clasped his hands behind his back and nodded before giggling again and raising his hands towards the sky with his index fingers raised, as if you had just answered right to the question of some game.
"Bingo. Yup. It was me. Pathetic and poor friendzoned Scott. My God..The Scott from this universe really was a chicken, wasn't he ? Let you marry someone else because he didn't have the courage to do what was necessary..I mean..Did you really expect me to just let you marry that captain America wannabe ?"
You felt tears at the corner of your eyes as your best friend turned into a whole other person in front of you…a monster. You fell to the floor in shock.
"B..But why ?!"
He crouched in front of you and shook his head, as if the answer was just obvious.
"Poor poor Y/N..Still haven’t figured it out, have you ?"
He gently stroked your cheek and his smile made you shiver as his eyes shone with that crazy glimpse that made your heart beat a thousand times faster. He was insane.
"I was there."
His answer confused you and he seemed to notice as he stood up and explained with that scary smile still plastered on his face.
"I was there when you needed a shoulder to cry on ! I was there when you first met Cassie and I saw how you two got along so well ! I was there when you were injured and needed someone to patch you up. I was there when you were lost and confused..I WAS THERE, Y/N ! Not him ! ME ! My other me. The Scott who was too pathetic to ask you out ? He was in love with you. Fortunately, it's not my case. I'll do everything he was too scared to do and kill whoever gets in my way !"
He never yelled at you before..What's going on ?!
"Are you okay, Scott ? Is someone making you do this ? I can help ! Just, tell me what's going on ?!"
However, he only laughed mockingly at your concern.
"You’re gonna help me alright. You’ll see. We’ll be the perfect family you, Cassie and I.."
He suddenly kissed you and you tried to push him away, but he was too strong and when he pulled away..You noticed Cassie looking at you both from the stairs. She seemed scared and you couldn't do anything..Scott noticed her and smiled again.
"Peanut ! Come down here !"
Your eyes widened and you shook your her vividly.
"No ! Stay where you are !"
Scott turned back towards you and his smile faltered a bit.
"Please, sweetie. Don't get into this. My little girl and I need to talk."
You couldn't let him have Cassie. You closed your eyes and then felt something under your fingers. You opened your eyes to find a pair of scissors and used all the courage you had left to stab Scott in the back. He screamed in pain and you then quickly opened the door. Cassie quickly got away, but unfortunately, not you. You felt his arms encircle your waist from behind.
"Going somewhere, honey ?"
He brought you back inside and closed the door. You tried to get out of his grip, but to no avail.
"You shouldn't have done that..You know that I'll have to punish you, right ?"
You squirmed and even bit, which made him finally let go, only to grab your neck to crash your lips together. He looked like Scott. He sounded like Scott. He even smelled like Scott..But, he wasn't him ! You had to remind yourself. Truth was, you had always liked Scott. You even waited for years for him to finally make the first move, but it never came. Then, Sam asked you out and tired of waiting, you accepted..
"I love you.."
You whispered and Scott tilted his head curiously.
"What ?"
He asked, not having properly heard you the first time and you gritted your teeth. Why did it have to be this way ?
"I love you, you idiot ! But, you ruined everything !"
You finally yelled at him and Scott seemed dumbfounded by the news.
"You..do ?"
You nodded and looked away.
"I was never going to marry Sam. I just..I just didn't know how to tell you and..then, the funeral arrived and I..I thought it might be our chance to start again, but you just.."
You didn't get to finish that sentence as he embraced you.
"I'm so happy.."
You closed your eyes and, unable to resist any longer, gave in and hugged him back. It felt good to have him in your arms, even if he wasn't your Scott..
"I promise..I'll protect you. I won't do anything to hurt you ever again. I was just..I wanted you to see and understand how much I love you."
His words made you feel slightly better and when you closed your eyes, you could almost pretend it was your Scott you were holding.
"I love you.."
You heard yourself utter weakly, desperate to just hear him say it back and Scott smiled, a genuine smile.
"I love you too.."

"Nat you're not going to believe what I just saw! It has single handedly made my week- whoa!" You exclaimed as you threw your hands up and backed against the nearest wall.
"Who are you?" Demanded the blonde from the other end of her gun. You glanced frantically between her hand gun and her stone cold grey eyes, not knowing which you should be more afraid of.
"Y/n." You answered shakily, your mouth and throat suddenly feeling like sandpaper.
"Yelena!" Natasha shouted as she came into the living room. "Put your gun down you сумасшедшая сука (crazy bitch)!" Yelena hesitated as she gave you the once over and slowly lowered her weapon. You didn't fail to notice how she kept it in her hands until Natasha snatched it away.
"Hey!" She argued and tried to grab it back.
"You get gun privileges back when you stop pointing them at my friends." Natasha said as she put it in the safe under the kitchen counter.
"She didn't knock!" Yelena defended with a thick accent.
You were still stood awkwardly against the wall as you watched the interaction. You had no idea who the blonde was much less why she had acted like a paranoid guard dog. Not that you were offended, being friends with someone who had a lot of protective friends and coworkers meant this had happened more than you wanted to admit. JARVIS actually had some very over the top weapons pointed at you twice.
"I don't knock when I go to her place." Natasha pointed out. You smiled nervously at the blonde when she looked over at you again.
"Well as your new roommate it seems like something I should know."
New roommate? Natasha hated the idea of a roommate and had always been very vocal about it. It was why she insisted on having her own apartment rather than living in at the Avengers compound.
You glanced around and couldn't see any moving boxes or suitcases or really anything that indicated anyone else was living there. Either Yelena had already packed or she just wanted to keep all her personal things to herself.
"Temporary roommate." Natasha corrected making the blonde huff. "Who still hasn't gotten the groceries." Yelena mumbled something under her breath in Russian as she trudged towards the door. She glanced your way once then looked back as if second guessing you. She narrowed her eyes slightly and you fidgeted on the spot, feeling nervous under her gaze.
"What did you see?" She asked.
"I'm sorry?" You replied, not knowing where the question came from.
"What did you want to tell Natasha about." You stared at her blankly for a second before you suddenly realised what she meant.
"Oh! I saw a man walking seven ferrets." You said with a fond smile as you remembered the way their leads were getting caught up as the scrambled over each other. Yelena stared back at you. "Seven is a lot." You said. She still didn't seem to get it. "I like ferrets." You mumbled as you felt embarrassed.
She didn't say anything as she looked you over one more time and opened the door to leave, shutting it firmly behind her. You released a breath you didn't know you had been holding once the door clicked shut.
"Seven?" Natasha teased with a smirk as put some toast in the toaster. You grumbled as you walked over to the kitchen island and leant against it.
"She's intense." You commented and whipped your head around to the door, afraid she would walk back in.
"She's my sister." Natasha said casually.
"Sister? What?! Since when did you- Sister?!" Natasha chuckled at your reaction and shrugged simply.
"It's complicated."
"Everything with you is." You fired back. "Look I'll tell you our life story later." She waved off. You had known Natasha for years and considered each other your closest friends. You told her everything but you understood early on that there was a lot about her life she couldn't talk about. Whether it was because it could endanger you to know or it was simply to painful to recall, there would always be something.
"And I'm sorry about her wanting to shoot you. She's a lot." Natasha sighed, clearly tired. She had been away for months and you guessed she had found Yelena at some point during that mission. She had only been back a week and clearly needed a break. You wondered if she would finally take Fury up on his promise of a vacation.
"She's just protective." You shrugged. "Like someone else I know." You eyed the redhead with a smile. Yelena honestly seemed nothing short of terrifying to you, but you weren't going to admit that to your friend who would remind you of it every chance she got.
"Trust you to defend someone who put a gun on you." Natasha rolled her eyes and pushed a hot drink towards you.
"She seems nice." That wasn't the right word and given the look Natasha gave you she agreed. "Witty?" You tried. Natasha pulled a face in disagreement and you sighed in defeat. "Whatever, she's cute though." You thought aloud. Natasha shot you a warning look.
"Don't go crushing on my sister, y/n." She said with a serious edge to her tone. You laughed at her sudden shift and fell down on her sofa to grab the remote to start binging the shows Natasha had missed with you.
"I wouldn't dream of it."

It was a Friday night when you saw the blonde next. The bar you worked at was surprisingly quiet for the day but you didn't mind at all. Less people meant less chance of having to deal with a drunken fight. Not that that ever really happened there.
You worked in a small bar that had been running since long before you were born. It wasn't the most out there establishment and combined with it's location on the quieter, arguably more sketchy, parts of the city, it wasn't massively popular. In fact, everyone who showed up at the bar you recognised instantly, lest the rare groups of people who stumbled upon the building. No one who went there was all that talkative, but you had come to know each of them over the years.
It wasn't that the bar itself was sketchy. It wasn't involved in illegal gambling or drug dealings. It was just that it seemed to remind people of home. You had alcohols there that you just couldn't find in shops or other bars. Behind the bar was everything from Mexico's brightest palomas to Russia's strongest vodka. The latter was what had drawn Natasha to your worn down place of work the first time you met her. While she didn't like to be reminded of her past in Russia, like a couple other customers you had, she couldn't deny she missed the booze. So you guessed you shouldn't have been surprised to see Yelena joining her that night.
"Just give it a chance will you." Natasha scolded her younger sister in a hushed voice. You smiled at the encounter as the pair came towards the bar. Everything the redhead had been able to tell you about her time away was evident from the way the siblings interacted. It really hadn't taken them long to fall back into the squabbling sisters role, like they hadn't ever been apart.
Yelena grumbled something in Russian as she glanced around the bar, her eyes soon landing on yours and just as unreadable as the last time you saw her. The memory had been playing a lot in your head.
"Hi again." You smiled at her before turning your attention to your friend. "The usual?"
"For this one too." Natasha nodded to her sister as she sat down on a stall, soon followed by Yelena.
You took two shot glasses from the shelf and put them infront of the sisters and opened a bottle of Natasha's favourite bottle. You filled the both to the brim and put the bottle on the counter, knowing the redhead wanted it there. Natasha wasn't really a regular drinker, but when she did enduldge herself she didn't seem to have a limit. You had never once seen her drunk.
Natasha didn't hesitate in tilting her head back with the glass at her lips and didn't flinch when she swallowed the drink. Yelena rolled her eyes but copied anyway.
You carried on with drying some glasses and tried not to pay close attention to the blonde's reaction. You always loved the moment that customers realised they had found the drinks of their country. And as Yelena was harder to read, it took extra attention to detail to spot the moment of realisation. Natasha was watching for it too.
Yelena shrugged. She shrugged, clearly underwhelmed. "It's good." She commented. Natasha sighed dramatically and poured herself another shot as she grumbled about never being able to please her sister.
You went back to your duties properly and shook your head with a sigh. First time for everything. However when you risked a glanced at Yelena you saw a hint of a smile tug at the corner of her lips. You grinned to yourself, deciding then that you were determined to see a proper smile from the blonde at some point.
"What's got you smiling?" Natasha asked with a smirk.
"Am I not allowed to just smile, Tasha?" You quipped back.
"I take it your date went well." You groaned at the mention of the event.
"It actually really didn't." You huffed. It was actually one of the worst dates you had ever been on. You had been giggling like a school girl when Natasha told you a shield agent had eyes for you. The two of you exchanged numbers and arranged a date but it became clear to you pretty quickly she wasn't as ready to date again as she thought she was. "She's definitely not over her ex." She grimaced. Natasha hummed in thought.
"Okay, but do you want me to key her car?"
"She paid for my coffee!" You laughed, she always had to be dramatic with her protectiveness.
"Is that a no then?" Yelena asked. You honestly had no idea if she was joking or not.
"It's a no." You confirmed with a smile.
"I'm sure I can find you someone else." Natasha said confidently. You hummed in response and watched her pour another pair of shots.
"That's okay, Tasha. Maybe you should focus on yourself and a certain other redhead." You grinned. Natasha shot daggers at you as Yelena whipped her head around to stare at her sister.
"You have a boy..." She paused and scanned her sister quickly. "Girlfriend?" She concluded. You snickered and poured a drink for another customer, focusing on him momentarily as the pair bickered further.
"There is nothing going on with me and Wanda!" Natasha exclaimed.
"The magic one?" Yelena asked with interest.
"The magic one." You confirmed with a grin.
"What's she like?" The blonde continued as she leaned forward.
"She's better than you Сволоч (jerks)." Natasha mumbled as she rolled her eyes.
"And a total babe." You added and leapt back when the redhead went to hit you.
"Y/n!" You spun around at hearing a familiar voice. Joseph, your oldest regular, was making his way through the room towards the end of the bar, a fond smile etched into the deep lines on his face.
"Hey, pal." You smiled back and went to prepare his usual as he started to chat away at you.
"You never had anything with her?" Yelena asked boldly as she tilted her glass towards you.
"Y/n?" Natasha was surprised to say the least. She had never thought of you that way and no one else had ever asked about it. "No." She chuckled, thinking of all the times you had done everything in your power just to get her and Wanda alone in a room together. "Why'd you ask?"
"I just wondered." She said as she tapped her glass in thought, grey eyes watched you actively engage in conversation with the older man. Natasha narrowed her eyes at her sister.
"Right. Just don't crush on my best friend." She warned as she poured her sister another shot.
"You got it." She nodded and threw her head back as she downed the shot.
*
You ended up seeing Yelena quite frequently. Not only did she join Natasha in coming to the bar, but she seemed to always be there when you visited your friend too. She wasn't much of a small talker, you learned that quickly, but the passing moments you happened to be alone in each others company stopped being awkward quickly.
Yelena was surprisingly easy to get along with. Once you had found a common ground of interest (making fun of Natasha) you could easily carry a conversation with her, but she was still closed off - something you were expecting given her past. There was one evening that made that as clear as it could be.
"I'm just saying the Avengers would be very happy to have you!" Natasha exclaimed with a smile as you sat giggling next to her.
"I'm not going to be a hero." Yelena waved off. She had quickly began agitated when she had nothing to do. There had always been something. Some mission. Some test. Some important training. Anything. And now she was free from the Red Room Yelena was struggling to know what she could do. You could tell she wanted to have a meaningful role, you just doubted she was going to admit that.
"There's always bounty hunting." You suggested as you flicked through the thin file in your lap. Sometimes when Natasha was struggling with a particular case file she gave it to you for a new insight. You never got a name or any big details in the files and it still wasn't entirely within the rules, but sometimes you actually helped.
"He bled to death from the stabbing, then he was shot." You muttered to the redhead as you passed the file back. Turns out being a drop out med student was good for something. While Natasha was the best of the best, she was still human and there were things even she overlooked from time to time that you picked up on.
"That's a good one." Yelena agreed as she sipped on her beer, pondering the suggestion.
"But why even go for something like this at all?" You said. Natasha and Yelena gave you a confused glance.
"I'm sticking to what I'm good at." The blonde said slowly.
"I'm sure you're skill set expands beyond all...this." You waved your arms around aimlessly. "Was there anything you remember enjoying before?" You asked curiously and Yelena instantly stiffened.
"No." She said bluntly and put her bottle down on the table. "Bounty hunting sounds good, I'll look in to it." She said as she left the living room area and headed towards her room without a second glance.
Your throat felt dry suddenly as guilt washed over you. What kind of a question even was that? She was only a kid when it happened, part of you wondered if she even remembered the part of her life before the Red Room.
"She's okay." Natasha assured, as though reading your mind.
"I shouldn't have asked." You muttered.
"Probably not, but for what it's worth" Natasha started as she went to put the shield file away "I thought you were onto something."
So you never asked about her past again, but that didn't stop you from thinking about it. You wondered if it was something she and Natasha talked about, only able to confide in one another about the nightmares they shared. Or was it an unspoken thing, something that they kept in the deepest darkest parts of their minds? You didn't expect to ever get an answer to that question.
Not so deadly assassin: THERE'S A FUCKING RAT IN MY ROOM
Not so deadly assassin: come deal with it!!!
Not so deadly assassin: Y/N
Not so deadly assassin: oh NOW you have a life
Not so deadly assassin: if you don't come over in 5 minutes I'm killing it
You huffed as you took your phone out of your pocket to see who had been blowing up your phone. You skimmed over Natasha's messages and sent a quick threat telling her if she ended the rat's life you would end hers and sped up your walk.
Luckily you were only a few minutes away from Natasha's apartment and after running up the stairs a few at a time you knocked on your friend's door and licked your partly spilt drink off your hand with a curse.
Yelena opened the door and motioned for you to come inside, seeming unfazed by your arrival and no doubt knowing why you were there. "Is she okay?" You asked as you looked around frantically.
"She just got called away for a mission." Yelena said as she led you through the apartment to Natasha's room.
"I meant the rat." You mumbled and spotted it in the corner. Yelena snickered at your comment and leant against the door frame as she watched you slowly approach the rodent.
"How did it even get in here?" You asked as you cooed and held your hand out to the rat that considered you curiously.
"Came in through the window apparently. I think Natasha wants to tear down the fire escape now." Yelena deadpanned.
"Like either of you need it anyway." The rat came closer to you and sniffed your hand before walking onto it. You picked up the small creature and placed her down gently on the fire escape before shutting the window.
"Was that so hard?" You said with a smile.
"They carry disease, you know?" Yelena fired back.
"So do we!" You exclaimed and paused when Yelena gave you a side eye. "Okay some of us." You corrected as you washed your hands.
"I hope she didn't call you away from anything important." Yelena said as she glanced at the hot drink you had left on the counter.
"I was just about to go to the pharmacy." You shrugged.
"It's your lucky day, I need band aids." Yelena declared as she picked up her satchel bag.
"Band...aids?" You questioned with a shit eating grin as you grabbed your drink and headed for the door with the blonde behind you.
"Yes, y/n. I need band aids. You're as bad as Natasha, she doesn't seem to think we need them either. We have everything in that bathroom except band aids!" You giggled as you watched her ramble in exasperation, finding it undeniably cute when she got lost in her own world about something.
"So if you're bleeding to death you'll be fine but if you get a papercut then things are gonna get bad?" You teased as you left the building. Yelena rolled her eyes at you but seemed to not be able to stop the small smile fighting for it's appearance, tugging at the corner of her mouth.
"It's a pretty big papercut." She mumbled as she inspected the cut on her forefinger.
"Well I think you're very brave." You grinned.
You walked in a comfortable silence for a while until your eyes landed on something that spiked every happy hormone in your body. "Yelena!" You grabbed at her arm and pointed across the street. The blonde was understandably alarmed at first and you noticed her reach into her back pocket for something until she saw what you were pointing at.
"Seven ferrets." Yelena muttered as she watched the small animals half run down the street infront of their owner.
"Seven adorable ferrets." You corrected as you watched them continue to scurry along.
"I can see how that could be the highlight of your week." Yelena recalled and you couldn't help but blush slightly. "I think this is the highlight of mine." She admitted.
"You're only human." You sighed as you turned around to keep walking, a content smile on your lips.
"Why don't you have pets if they make you so happy?" Yelena asked curiously.
"Not allowed in my apartment." You said gloomily. It was probably for the best, you would have a lot of pets if you could, too many to handle.
"If you think about it, rats are just small ferrets and you see those everyday. You could go find some more." Yelena teased and you chuckled.
"Haven't you heard? They carry disease." It was Yelena's turn to laugh lightly at that. You smiled proudly at causing the beautiful sound and felt your stomach do a small flip.
*
It turned out all the Avengers were keen to have Yelena on their team. Tony and Steve had introduced themselves to the new Russian one evening and bored (Yelena's words) her with stories of their latest successful missions and how great it was to be an Avenger. She didn't buy it.
Then she started getting emails and texts from the team, inviting her to different events and trying to get on her good side. Tony had even sent an extravagant gift basket to the apartment one day. Yelena had asked you to spend the afternoon sorting through it with her, snacking on all the expensive chocolates on the way as you told the blonde you thought she had a secret admirer.
It was early in the afternoon when she finally agreed to meeting the whole team.
"I just think it could be fun. I know they probably seem like annoying children right now, but at those parties they have to behave." You said into the phone as you balanced it on your shoulder.
"I don't think I own the right kind of clothing for it." Yelena said.
"I'm sure Natasha can lend you something, she is your big sister after all." You teased and heard her groan.
"You don't even have to stay long. But once you actually meet them they'll lay off about you joining if you still don't want to."
"It's just not-"
"Your thing." You finished with a smile. "I know, Lena. They'll get it." She hummed in thought and a silence fell over your phones until you cursed. "Shit." You muttered when the table leg fell down again.
"You need help putting that table together?" Yelena asked for the umpteenth time. You sighed as you sat back and glared at the parts sprawled out across the floor.
"Yes please."

Yelena Belova wearing a suit was something else entirely. Every outfit her sister offered her she turned down until Natasha grew frustrated and took Yelena out for a suit fitting, and god it paid off. The blazer hugged her body closely in a way you partly wished you could feel. You knew the blonde wasn't big on any form of affection, especially physical, but you loved it and Yelena had become a good friend. During late evenings when she was sitting comfortably in an armchair with a large hoodie on you thought she looked so soft and warm. You could only imagine how safe you would feel in her arms. You always had to put those thoughts aside quickly, not wanting to let your mind linger on things so intimate.
"Told you this place isn't so bad." You laughed nervously as Yelena approached you. She smiled and shook her head, her eyes looking so much brighter in the new lighting.
"I can't argue with that." The blonde shrugged and followed you to the bar.
"You um, you look amazing by the way." You said as she avoided Yelena's gaze, not wanting to let your eyes wander the way they were straining to. Unfortunately that meant you missed how she took in your attire and the admiration she struggled to hide.
"So do you." She smiled.
"Evening." Natasha said with a smirk as she came up to you and Yelena from the other side of the bar.
"This does not feel right at all." You winced making the redhead smile, more so when she prepared what she knew was your favourite drink.
"Yelena! You running away from me?" Sam grinned as he strolled towards the bar. You smiled into your drink when you saw the blonde shift on her feet in slight frustration.
"You gotta come meet Maria, you're gonna love her!" He exclaimed as he tried to steer Yelena away. She looked back at you with a face that was clearly asking for help but you just giggled as she left and waved goodbye to her.
"Has she met Wanda yet?" You grinned at Natasha knowingly and a slight blush appeared on her cheeks.
"She has." You hummed and looked across the room to spot the Sokovian in question. "And?"
"And they only just stopped talking when you arrived." You nodded with a triumphant smile, knowing the pair would get along. You missed Natasha's short analysis of your expression, trying to find the thing she knew you were hiding until someone else arrived at the other end of the bar and she rushed off.
You leaned over the bar to pour yourself another drink and started across the room. It didn't take long at all to find Wanda, or rather for her to find you.
"Y/n!" She exclaimed as she pulled you in for a crushing hug barely a second after you had turned around.
"Hey Wan." You laughed as you tried to hug her back.
"How are you, sweetie?" She asked as she let you go.
"I'm good, how have things been for you?" It had been far too long since you had seen the Sokovian and you missed her company a lot. She had such a calming presence that you always felt so comfortable around. You had told her that once, not knowing the fears she faced of her powers and the mistrust she had in herself, and she had teared up as she pulled you in for your first Wanda hug.
"So, I hear you met Yelena." You smiled after a while of catching up with the redhead.
"I was slightly terrified of her at first." She admitted with a laugh.
"She had a gun on me when we met!" You exclaimed as you remembered it clearly.
"So I heard." Wanda teased. "I also hear you guys are getting on like a house on fire." She continued as she watched you carefully.
"Yeah." You muttered as you spotted her talking to Maria. "She's pretty great." You said easily.
You spent a while catching up with various team members between drinks. You kept steeling glances at Yelena, mostly catching her in conversations she clearly didn't want to be in but a few times you caught her eye and paused to smile at her. She was always beautiful but you really couldn't get over how she looked in the navy suit.
You were sat by the bar when the party started to come to an end. You usually would have left a while ago but you wanted to be able to say goodbye to Yelena before you did.
"I'm exhausted." Came the familiar husky voice from behind you. Yelena leaned on the bar next to you and poured herself a vodka and downed the shot.
"Me too!" You said loudly with a slight slur. Yelena paused before letting a smile creep onto her lips as she watched you with an amused glint in her eyes.
"How much have you had to drink?" Yelena asked as she took your glass away from you.
"A few." You thought as you tried to calculate in your head but just shrugged in conclusion.
"легкий (lightweight)." The Russian muttered.
"Hey, come over here." Natasha called as she rounded a corner and spotted you and her sister. "We're putting a film on." She declared. You glanced around and noticed that everyone had gone. When did that happen?
"Let's go, Lena!" You called as you took her by the hand and led her through to where Natasha had gone.
"Are you sure?" She questioned as she looked down at your entwined hands.
"Absolutely!" You jumped up a few steps and saw the group sitting around the large TV on the comfy sofas.
"I missed these." You said to Yelena as you fell down onto the nearest sofa and pulled her down next to you. Natasha placed some snacks down on the table and eyed your joined hands without a comment.
You brought your legs up underneath you, not unlocking your fingers when the blonde's who didn't seem to mind. The other Avengers didn't seem to take much notice or interest in how close you were to Yelena and thanks to your slightly tipsy state you didn't bring much attention to it either. All you knew was that you felt comfortable sitting so close to the Russian that your bare arm was touching her soft blazer.
"Your hands are really soft." You whispered to her. She smiled to herself and tried to fight off the slight blush painting her cheeks that you, lucky for Yelena, didn't notice.
"So are yours." She whispered back.
What you didn't realise was that Natasha was still paying close attention to you both with Wanda smiling knowingly besides her, even when the film started and the lights dimmed. She finally stopped when she heard Wanda laugh lightly at something on screen, turning her attention to the girl besides her and then the film.
Barely 10 minutes in you found yourself growing sleepy. The dark room and the warmth of Yelena were certainly part of the cause but you found you really didn't mind, especially when your head fell onto Yelena's shoulder and she didn't shake you off.
Your eyes struggled to focus on the screen and really anything that wasn't the blonde when she shifted on the sofa to let you lean back against her. You smiled faintly as you let your eyes close and relax against Yelena, your hand still in hers.
*
You awoke when the main lights started to come back on and you felt Yelena stretch behind you. Her blazer was draped across your front and you smiled like an idiot when you realised. She had only worn it for a few hours and it already smelt like her.
"Hey." She husked and you felt a chill run through your body when her breath hit your neck.
"Hey yourself." You grinned back.
"Come on, let's get you home." She said as she sat up on the sofa.
"Can you get me a cab?" You asked as you rubbed your eyes.
"I'll drive you." Yelena stood up and held out her hand to help you up too. You took it happily and leaned against her for support for a moment.
You said goodbye to the team and made your way slowly out of the living area and eventually out the building in a concentrated silence. Concentrated for you, Yelena didn't have any issue putting one foot infront of the other.
"You guys okay getting home?" Natasha called from the entrance as Yelena helped you into her car. You gave Natasha two thumbs up and grinned her way as Yelena nodded. The redhead nodded back and folded her arms as she watched you carefully leave the building site.
It wasn't that long a drive to your apartment. Yelena drove in silence while you hummed along faintly to a song playing quietly on the radio, unaware of the smile playing on the blonde's lips.
When Yelena had parked outside your apartment complex she helped you out the car and up to your apartment, unlocking the door for you and guiding you through to your room where she lay you on the bed gently.
"You should change." Yelena said as she got some of your night clothes from the closet and went into the kitchen to get you a glass of water.
"You should stay." You grinned at her. She arched a brow at you in question but you didn't respond, only turning around on the bed. "Can you help me with my zipper?"
Yelena nodded and put the glass of water down on your bedside table and pulled the zipper down, trying to ignore the urge to see if the skin on your back was as smooth as it looked. She cleared her throat when she realised the zipper went lower than she thought, reaching your tailbone. Yelena took a step back and turned towards the opposite wall as she heard you step out of the dress and into your bed clothes.
"You should take some too." You said when you pulled the duvet back.
"You really want me to stay?" Yelena questioned, it looked like you were starting to sober up.
"Of course!" You grinned as you leaned on your elbows to watch her and patted the space in bed besides you.
"Okay." She smiled and got some clothes from your closet that she quickly changed into when you looked away to drink the water she had given you.
Yelena folded her suit on a chair in the corner of the room before hesitantly getting into the warm bed besides you. But she surprisingly felt a lot more at ease when you draped an arm over her stomach as you closed your eyes. Yelena sighed lightly at the contact. She never thought she was one for physical contact, but she had been wondering what it would be like to receive it from you for a while. Even craved it after you had held her hand earlier that night.
"Night Lena" You mumbled sleepily. Yelena put her hand on your waist to pull you closer to her and brushed a stray strand of hair away from you face.
"Good night y/n."
*
Despite the killer headache that greeted you, you actually woke up feeling pretty great. Your bed was warmer than usual and you didn't feel quite as alone as you always did in the large bed.
You rubbed your eyes and groaned but froze when you felt a hand on your bare waist where your shirt had ridden up. Yelena was sleeping soundlessly besides you and your breath caught in your throat when you took in her appearance. The sunlight seeping into the bedroom hit her face just right and you had to remind yourself not to stare, even if she wasn't awake to notice it.
You spotted a bottle of advil on the bedside table and a fresh glass of water that you took together. You tried to be careful not to wake Yelena but she started to move when you did, her soft hand slipping from your waist.
"Morning." You said after finishing the glass of water and wiping your mouth with the back of your wrist. Yelena groaned as she stretched out like a cat and looked up at you.
"Morning to you too." She smiled and you wondered if she knew she had her hand on your waist just a few seconds prior.
"Feel free to take a shower and borrow some of my clothes." You offered as you stood up from the bed and made your way across the room.
"Thanks." She hummed quietly. "Hey." You turned around by the door when she called you. "How did you sleep?" She asked curiously as she sat up to face you properly.
"Like a rock." You recalled happily. "You?"
"Yeah," Yelena smiled back, "pretty great." You nodded and made your way to kitchen as Yelena got out of bed with a content smile.
Yelena was in the shower when you started on breakfast. Usually you would have made something simple like toast or some fruit but you figured as you had a guest you should make something better and settled on pancakes. You also wanted to thank her for staying the night with you.
"That smells amazing." Yelena said with wide eyes as she trudged into the kitchen, still drying her hair. Your heart swelled at the sight of the blonde in one of your band shirts with some loose shorts. Your thought that your clothes probably looked better on her and you imagined how soft she would look in your favorite hoodie.
"Take a picture, it will last longer." She teased when you didn't respond. You snapped out of your daze and smiled sheepishly as you avoided her eye and continued to flip the pancakes. You put a plate down on the kitchen island and motioned for her to eat as you put some juice and fruit down too.
"No pressure, but what I think of you as a chef is going to be determined by these." She quipped as she started to cut the food. You smiled and turned around to watch the blonde's face change into a childish grin.
"Not too shabby." You concluded before shovelling more of the food into her mouth.
"No too shabby." You repeated with a sense of pride as you sat down next to her.
"That's what they used to say on the American shows I watched as a kid." She explained. You were about to tell her you had heard the expression before but paused when you realised it was the first time Yelena said anything about her childhood to you.
"Weren't they translated?" You asked carefully.
"No because they were copies from America. My father got them for us." She said and you noticed the far away look in her eyes, no doubt remembering that day as best she could.
"Well if you remember what the show's called we can try watch them again." You suggested with a shrug. Yelena considered you for a moment before she smiled at you softly. "Okay." She agreed. You opened your mouth to speak but there was a sudden loud thudding on your apartment door. You went to stand up to see who it was until Natasha opened the door and slammed it shut making you jump.
"I locked that door." Yelena said with certainty.
"I have a spare key." Natasha showed the metal piece before putting it back into her pocket.
"You want pancakes?" You asked as you stood up to put some more batter in the pan.
"What's going on with you two?" The redhead demanded, ignoring your question.
"What do you mean?" You and Yelena used in unison.
"You know exactly what I mean!" Natasha exclaimed as she raised her voice and looked between you and her equally baffled sister. "Are you dating? You could have told me." She continued as a hurt expression flickered across her face.
"We're not dating." Yelena said slowly but glanced at you. "Are we?" You could have sworn you heard her voice hold something hopeful rather than teasing.
"Not since I last checked."
"Can you quit fucking around and just tell me?" Natasha took a second look at the shirt Yelena was wearing before her jaw clenched.
"Oh no no no. We didn't- she just slept over!" You rambled as you started to panic. Natasha looked far from happy. You had been thinking a lot about what your friend had said the first time you met Yelena. You were never sure if she was really serious or not. All you knew was you that you started to feel guilty when your eyes lingered too long on her sister or when you felt the butterflies in your chest at her contact or really anything she did. You told yourself you kept your promise and didn't have a crush on Yelena, but it was becoming increasingly harder to convince yourself and now Natasha.
"You can tell me." The redhead said quieter as her stance softened. You looked to Yelena who seemed set on staying silent as she stared at her empty plate.
"Natasha I really don't know what to say..." You honestly didn't. You were baffled by the whole situation and Yelena was hardly helping. She really thought you were dating?
"Right, I just wanted to know." The older Russian sighed as she trudged towards the door. There was a heavy silence over the apartment until Natasha stopped by the open door to turn towards you both with a frown.
"I didn't mean it. What I said about..." She glanced around as she fidgeted in the doorway and searched for words. You and Yelena waited patiently. "Wanda said you guys are cute." A smile flickered at the corner of your mouth and you looked to the floor. "She's right." She left without another word and shut the door gently behind her. You exhaled heavily once you heard the click and leaned against the counter.
"Crazy, right?" You laughed nervously. Yelena didn't respond. "You okay?" You started filling the washing up bowl with water, needing to do something as you talked.
"She thinks we're dating." Yelena muttered.
"Yeah that's what I... that's crazy." You laughed more and scratched the back of your neck.
"Is it?" She questioned as she turned around to face you. You couldn't help but stare back at her light eyes that you struggled to read.
"Maybe not." You shrugged. The blonde looked back at the ground with a conflicted look. "No... no it's not." You concluded.
"I like spending time with you." Yelena continued. "Just hanging out, helping you put together that damn table, sleeping next to you. Even at that damn party with like one hundred people I still just wanted to be with you." She admitted and you exhaled a breath you didn't know you had been holding. "I just like being around you."
"I like being around you too." Yelena looked up and you held her gaze as your hands shook with nerves.
"Would you still like being around me if we were on a date?" She asked boldly. You couldn't contain the smile that grew at her words. You reached out and took her hands in yours as you took a step closer to the Russian.
"I would love it." Yelena smiled and stood up slowly, her eyes flickering to your lips as you licked them. You closed your eyes and leaned forward bravely, finding your hands were no longer shaking. Yelena's left hand left yours and came up to your neck to steady herself and close the gap between you, pressing her lips ever so softly against yours.
You snaked your hand around her waist to bring her somehow closer and deepened the kiss you realised you had been craving for so long. You pulled away softly and rested your forehead against Yelena's, suddenly feeling very dizzy.
"I have a huge crush on you." You admitted with a sigh, to yourself and Yelena.
"I have a huge crush on you too." Yelena laughed softly. "Can we do that date now? I think I've waited long enough." You giggled lightly and nodded your head as excitement rushed over you.
"Sounds perfect." You smiled and went to your bedroom to get changed but paused in the hallway. "You should call Nat."

You wake quietly on a stiff mattress, sucking in a slow breath as you listen to distant mutterings and a slow incessant beeping near your ear. Without moving, you peer through one of your eyes and take in the scene around you.
Nat is asleep in a chair near your bed, arms crossed and chin dipped into her rising and falling chest. Further down the room, Stark is tinkering with a machine as he talks to Wanda, you can just catch a muttering of your name pass between their lips. Banner stands next to Steve who looks like he's drawing blood, a small squeeze ball in his hand. Wanda walks from the room and shuts the door behind her, quieting the room to just the beeping of the machine you're hooked too.
Quietly as you can, you close your eyes and suck in a deep breath, filling your lungs with air. Gradually, you feel the small twitches in your body as the beeping machine begins to slow. The machine clicks and the alarm blares out, your heart rate and respiration too low for someone who should be alive.
The chair Nat was in squeals against the floor, "Banner, hurry up!"
You can feel the presence of the crowd around you, someone checking on the machine as another grabs your limp arm to feel your pulse. You nearly break, feeling the need to smile but you hold it for just a moment longer.
"JARVIS, give me a look. Now!” You hear Tony say and know the ruse will be up if you don't act first.
Tearing your hand from Nat, you open your eyes to Tony who's leaning in and trying to scan you and yell, "Boo!"
Tony lets out a yell as he jumps back from you, leaning against the wall. Nat clenches her fists but slams her hands over her face as she squats to the floor. Banner nearly knocks over the machine as Steve stands in worry from his chair.
"If you weren't just stabbed, I'd punch you in the face!" Natasha yells at you, sliding her hands through her hair roughly, "I hate you so much."
You're trying to stop your laughter as it sends pain through your not fully healed wound. You can feel your face grow with heat from your fits of laughter, "It was too good to pass up. You should've seen your faces."
"I suppose we have the answer to how you're feeling, Y/N," Steve chuckles as Banner removes the needle from his arm, standing and rolling down his button down sleeve.
Nat throws the bed remote at you as she sits back in her chair, refusing to help you adjust yourself after what you've done. You grimace as you sit yourself up and point at the Captain,
"Are we having a blood drive? I might need to be excused."
Banner pushes his glasses up his nose, wringing his fingers from the fright you just gave him. Watching him, you give him an apologetic grin, glad you didn't scare the green guy out of him.
"Your body was rejecting Nat's blood," Banner starts as you glance at her.
Nat rolls her eyes, "You've always been picky."
Banner clears his throat, "You and Steve share the same type and a very similar mutation of the super soldier serum. So, his blood kept you from dying of blood loss." With a quiet nod, he takes the bag of blood and places it in a nearby medical refrigerator.
You raise your brows as he tells you this, quietly surprised that they went that far to save you. Steve sticks a straw in a juice box and empties it in one drink, handing you one as well. You're ready for some sugar, you can feel the lightness in your head every time you try to move.
"You're welcome," Steve grins at your silent thank you, watching you try to line the straw up with the foil.
You chuckle, "That was more than a cake, Rogers. You didn't have to do that," Nat gives up watching you helplessly fail at opening the juice box, ripping it from your hands and stabbing the straw in, "Thanks, mom."
She makes a disgusted face, shaking her head with a shiver, "Never, ever call me that again."
Smirking, you take a drink of the sweet apple juice and give her a wink. Tony, having recovered from his small heart attack, pops some almonds into his mouth, pointing at everyone.
"I'm sorry, are we just handing out thank you's to these three?" You give Tony your attention with a raised brow, "I let you use this high tech gear- that still had plastic on it - and I don't get a thanks? I told you Romanoff, we should've just dropped them off at the emergency room. "
"Always the modest one, Stark. I am humbled by your generosity," you tell him, watching him give a smirk, "I don't know if you guys meant to do this but this is starting to really feel like a team."
Nat reaches next to her seat as you see the chuckles from everyone, "The other two on the team got you snacks," raising her hands, you can see two boxes of your most favorite snacks in the world.
You crush your empty juice box in excitement to tear into those boxes, "Wanda poisoned them didn't she?"
Tony pats the mini fridge without glancing back at you, "I think she poisoned the juice boxes to be honest."
The clink of metal catches your attention, you peer over at Nat as she holds up a small circular can, "And she got you these?"
Vienna Sausages. You let out a soft chuckle as you take them in your palm. Slowly, you turn the blue can in your hands, clenching your jaw softly but feel the corner of your lip rise in a grin.
"Safe to say, she still hates you," Nat says, stealing one of your snacks and heads towards the door, "Get some more rest, I'm sure you'll be out of that bed from going stir crazy soon."
As always, Natasha was right. Your body sunk into your mattress and your mind was taken with a deeper sleep than it was accustomed to. There was a reason you sleep on the floor, it gave you an opportunity to wake up before nightmares plagued you. If you fell into a deep sleep, you'd be lost in them and wake in a tormented and panicked state.
The exhaustion in your body was too much for you after making the journey to your room with Steve's help. You told yourself just a short nap and you'd go down to the floor. You convinced yourself that you'd be okay. You were wrong, terribly wrong.
You wake with a start, your heart pounding in your chest as it sends unwelcome pain down into your side and thigh. Clutching your damp blankets, you try to roll to your side to keep sleeping, trying to ignore the visions in your head. You're terrified about what you will if you open your eyes, if what's you're seeing in your head will be happening on the outside.
All of the pain, the agony, and the blood. Your breath quivers in your throat as you feel the heat beneath the blankets grow with your sweating body. Slowly, your heart begins to calm and the images in your head disperse into blank darkness. Opening your eyes carefully, you release your bated breath as you can see the low light of the evening peeking from the curtains. Gently, you slide out of your bed, resting your sweating face in your hands.
Dull pain radiates through your whole body as you reach out for the pills left on your bedside table. Taking them as you chug a whole glass of water, you carefully push yourself up to your feet.
Holding a light hand to your side, you limp towards your dresser and pull out a new shirt. The one you're currently in is soaked through with sweat, reminding you of your violent nightmares. It takes you longer than you'd like to get it up and over your head, but you get it done.
Walking out your door, you guide your hand along the cold walls. Taking careful steps down the quiet hallways, you can see the radiating light of the conference room. You stop by the kitchen for another juice box pick me up and head towards the light. Peeking in, you count four people inside. Tony and Banner seem to have already left for the day. Nat is the first to notice you, watching you limp towards the room with the slightest shake of her head as she stands.
Opening the door for you, you slump into a seat with a sigh. Everyone is staring at you, wondering why the hell you're out of bed so soon. Nat's the only one who sits down and continues to work. She's seen you get back up and work with worse injuries. Though she’d like to patronize you and yell you that you don’t grow accustomed to gunshots and stab wounds, she saves her breath.
"You can continue, I'll catch up," you say.
Wanda lets out a scoff, "Are you kidding me right now?"
You glance at her, "Nope. I'm still this good looking."
Wanda shakes her head, nearly snapping the blue pen in her hand, 'You almost died and you think you can just waltz in here like nothing happened?"
"I was fine. I am fine. End of discussion."
"No, you dumbass!" She snaps at you, standing up sharply, "You lost four pints of blood!"
You raise your brows, "Wow, that's gotta be a record." Sucking the last of your juice, you notice the team is still carefully watching Wanda.
She stares at you, playing with the rings on her fingers. You look from her piercing stare, letting out a quiet huff. Nat glances at both of you gingerly as Steve and Sam try to stay on track but their eyes keep bouncing back to you two.
"I don't know why you keep getting pissed off. I didn't ask them to shoot at you! And it's not my fault you weren't paying attention."
"And I didn't ask you to jump in front of me!"
With a sigh, you rub your throbbing temples. The only thing you want to be doing right now is getting back to completing your contract, not arguing over who should have let who get shot. You throw your hands up, "Why didn't you move out of the way? You called me an idiot but I saved your life!"
Her head drops and you notice a look in Rogers' eyes, "That thing could've shot through you. I could have put up my shield if-."
"Well, it didn't. I'm not riddled with bullets on the side of the road, am I?" You shake your head as you stab another juice box, "Chill out, princess."
Sucking at the juice, the room becomes deathly quiet. Glancing up, you see her face contort as you finish your sentence, her knuckles turning white as she grips the chair she stands near. Rogers steps towards her, whispering something to her as your eyes catch her trembling lips.
Wanda shoves his comforting arm away and slams out of the room. She doesn't even try to insult you as she passes, you only heard the squeak of a sob in her throat. Nat rests her face in her hands, shaking it with a groan. Sam gives you a look that tells you that you just screwed up.
As Steve strides after Wanda you raise your brows, "What did I do?"
Sam stands, flipping through the datapad Steve left behind. Nat piles up her papers and speaks,
"Wanda had a twin. A brother. Pietro."
Sam slides the datapad across to you and you see a familiar face. Your throat dries as a sudden chill hits your chest with a heavy weight.
"He died the exact way you described. Trying to save his home from Ultron."
Swiping through the photos, you stop when you see a familiar lab. Strucker's prized pupils. They were related.
You lean your head back into the chair, your face pinching with regret as you let out a groan. Running your hands down your face roughly, you stare at the photo,
"Shit. I didn't know."
You glance up at Sam who has his arms crossed, a disappointed look on his face. He gives a little shrug, "We know you two don't see eye to eye. But, you two are going to have to learn to stop freaking yelling."
With a sigh, you pick at the dry skin around your finger, "You think she wants to rip my limbs off right now?"
Sam chuckles, "It's probably at a record high right now."
________________
You spent the rest of the day reading through the files. Reading about Strucker's experiments and not just on the twins. All of them, all of the volunteers and the horrors they were put through to only be discarded. You read about the mission the Avengers went on, their failure to catch Strucker. The creation of Ultron and the destruction of Sokovia. You read it all as you recovered in an arm chair in a quiet living room.
It was the first time you had been in the compound that it was actually quiet. Everyone was still resting from the mission and you were left alone. It was odd, you were used to a pair of eyes on you at all times. Yet here you were with free reign over the place. You could eat the snacks Sam thinks he hits so well behind the vegetables.
Nat comes around the corner, clutching her hoodie tightly as she yawns from the nap still on her brain. You adjust yourself again in the chair, unable to find a comfortable spot to rest. She stops, noticing your fidgeting state. Cocking a brow, you look towards her.
"What's wrong with you?" She asks, continuing to the kitchen and peering into the fridge.
You sigh, "I don't think I've gone longer than a day not being insulted."
Nat glances back and then around the room. Her face clenches with realization, "Weird. Wanda's door was open but she's not... I'm sure she's fine. You on the other hand," she starts to mix leftovers in a bowl, "need to go and rest."
You chuckle and slowly stretch against your stiff and protesting muscles, "Don't act like my mother if you don't want me to call you mom, Romanoff."
She sits near you, flipping on the television as you flip to the front of the files again. Her green eyes rest on it and you hear her sigh,
"Don't you have that memorized by now?"
You snap it shut, "How didn't I know they were related, Nat? God, that was a stupid thing to say."
Nat nods, "I wouldn't be surprised if she stabbed you and twisted the blade like you did next time she sees you."
"Ha ha," you glare at her," I thought we were friends. Don't friends make each other feel better?"
Flipping the tv on a cooking channel, Natasha lets out a scoff, "If you want to be my friend, you're getting bitter truth."
Sinking into the armchair further, you pull a blanket up and pop the footrest up, "I saved your sister. Give me some slack."
The two of you sat together for a while longer. Talking about the good old days that were really the worst days of your lives. Even through the rose colored glasses of nostalgia, you both laughed at the horribleness of being mere puppets for organization after organization.
At least with the Avengers, your opinion actually mattered. There wasn't an illusion of choice.
Eventually, you took Nat's advice to rest your eyes that were starting to droop. Laying on your floor in a sleeping bag, you wait for dreamless sleep to take you. As you listen to the clicking of your fan, there's a soft knock on your door. Slowly, you climb out from the cloth inside, taking a quick glance at the clock. It's close to midnight, your chest clenches as you hope there isn't an emergency as you turn the door handle quietly.
You're not sure what you expected but the redhead on the other side of the door was not the expectation in your head.
Wanda stands there, puffy eyes and hunched shoulders as she twirls away at her rings. You clench your brows at how small she looks in front of you. Usually so confident and purposeful when next to you, trying to constantly prove that the moment you provoke her you won't have any limbs. You watch her, wondering why of all the doors she stopped in front of yours.
She either hears your thoughts or realizes where she is because you watch her green eyes expand, "I'm sorry, I didn't... I shouldn't be here."
She starts to walk away, muttering something to herself. Everyone else is asleep or not in the mood to talk. You have nothing else going on and you know you're the reason behind her pain. Leaning out of the threshold, you quietly call after her before she can get around the corner. Wanda stops, glancing over her shoulder as you wave her back,
"Come inside. We can go back to hating each other tomorrow."
Both of you stare at each other in the darkness. Her eyes bouncing between the emptiness of the Compound and you. You don't move a muscle as you let her decide, you don't dare think a single thought either.
Eventually, her feet take her back to you and you step back inside of your room. As she closes the door behind her, you flick on a lamp and lock your eyes on her. Wanda holds herself carefully, glancing around your boring and nearly empty room, your bed covers tucked in tightly. There's nothing personal in here besides a journal that lays on your desk and the sleeping bag she gently toes. There's files from missions on your desk but your shelves are bare. Someone could easily mistake this room as empty with a quick glance.
Pulling out the chair beneath your desk, you push it gently towards her. You lean against your dresser, crossing your legs as you hold out your hand for her to sit. Wanda presses her lips in a thin line, continuing to scan the room again.
You grin as you try to lighten the air, "What's up, Maximoff? What can I, the mercenary who is a great therapist on the side, do for you?"
She closes her eyes with a heavy sigh, "You really think you're god's gift to the world don't you?"
You glance down at the floor, nodding a quiet apology. She's not here for your snarky comments. You've done enough of that. You've never been one to comfort another, though. That was never your job. There were times when something went wrong and you'd try giving solace but it wasn't your best ability.
You flick a glance to Wanda, "Is this about Pietro?"
Her eyes fling to yours as his name leaves your lips. Tears fill her eyes as you watch her hands clench tightly, chest rising against her rough breathing. Carefully eyeing her, you watch her head tilt to the side,
"What did you just say?"
Her scathing tone sends shiver down your spine but you point towards your desk, "I read the files. I know... I know Pietro died. From Ultron."
You realize the head tilt was a warning for you to shut up because the second mention of his name sends you backwards. Her palms slam into your chest, her magic rippling out as the red in her eyes darken against her scowl.
The back of your head slams against the wall as you grip at the invisible grip on your neck. She leans into you, her scowl shaking with anger and pain, the tears visible now,
"Don't ever say that name in front of me again, do you understand?" The magic around your neck squeezes as her words drip with her accent, "You do not taint his name by speaking it!"
Your back is lifted from the wall and slammed back with her yell. Your legs collapse under you as you fall to the floor, heat exploding from your wounds and a tightness in your throat. As the red glow in your room dims, you watch as Wanda crumbles into a tight ball in the middle of the floor. She grips her hair tightly, softly rocking herself on her heels as you hear the high pitched wails of her sobs.
You don't move, only watch from your pained position as you slowly breathe in and out. Pressing your palm over your lips, you watch with a weight in your chest that you had ignored for years. Wanda quiets as she wipes her eyes.
"You killed them. You buried them," she whispers as she stares at the ground, "You weren't there but all of those people who died, those volunteers, you did that. I blame you. If you didn't fulfill those goddamn contracts..."
Grimacing as you sit yourself up, you stare vacantly at the wall, "Someone else would've."
Wanda sucks in a breath, looking up at the ceiling as she shakes her head, "This is the part where you apologize."
"If I didn't someone else would have. Me apologizing doesn't change anything." You keep the cycle going, you push everything down. The guilt, the shame, the loneliness. The minute you apologize, the minute you think for a second that what you did was the wrong thing, you lose. You break.
Wanda shakes her head slowly, grinning to herself. She must've thought this would've gone a different way and now she realizes how wrong she was, how silly she was to think you'd apologize. Wanda stands, pulling out a piece of paper from her hoodie. Stepping towards you, she drops it into your lap.
"Then this is the part where you leave."
You hold the paper in the lamp light and sigh. It's the wire receipt.
"You're a waste of air. You are not one of us, okay? You're just some random asshole who got dragged into all of this!" Wanda breathes in carefully, rubbing her forehead. "So take your stupid money, get a taxi and leave."
Clenching your jaw, you hold the piece of paper up for her to take, "I signed a contract."
The laugh that comes from her lips sends shivers down your spine, "You're not even here because it's the right thing. You're just here because you signed on a dotted line. God! I'd say you're unbelievable but I'm not surprised."
"Hey! I didn't sign up for a lecture, especially not one from you!"
Wanda whips around as you slowly climb to your feet, causing you to flinch in preparation for another attack. She notices and takes a step back before yelling, "Then why are you still here!"
"Because I'm obligated to be!" you shout, balling up the paper and throwing it at the door.
"Why!" She slams her hands into your chest over and over as her voice cracks, "It's a piece of paper! No one will care if you leave and just die!"
You grip her hands as she tries to hit you again, "You're the first mistake that's come back!"
Your face falls as you realize the words you've spoken, dropping your eyes from her wide eyes. Clenching your jaw, you let her limp arms fall as you step away from her. Kicking at the ground, you rub your face violently as you try to calm your racing heart. There's a pit in your stomach that you haven't felt for years. All of these emotions are reaching their peak and all you can do is let out an involuntary laugh.
"I've been doing this for a long time," you say as you squint your eyes and find your words carefully, "My choices never caught me and looked me in the eye. I did my job and that. Was. It." You hit your thigh with each solid word, "I never had to think about it again."
Running your fingers along your nose, you breathe out a shaky breath before opening your eyes. Wanda is watching you, having stepped a few steps away from you. You raise your brows, waiting for her furious retaliation but she quietly sighs.
"It's too late to fix what you've done. My brother is dead. And now I'm this witch."
You glance quickly to her, watching her eyes flicker to your door. Your lips part but all you can do is shut it into a frown. Without another glance to you, she starts to walk towards the door. Watching her walk away, you place your hands on your waist and mutter to yourself. Wanda stops and looks over at you, at the haunted look on your face.
"I lied."
She turns to face you, arms crossed in front of her as she waits for you to speak. Sucking in a deep breath, you glance up from your hanging head,
"My choices have always caught me. I just... ignored them. I can't sleep because every time I close my eyes I see them. The ones I've killed with my own hands," you grip your waist tightly as you swing your eyes to hers, "The ones I've killed by my choices."
You wipe at your mouth, shaking your head with disgust, "You know, I almost died once. My fault, of course," you chuckle darkly and pinch the bridge of your nose, "But uh... I wished for a long time that they had just let me die. Didn't stitch me back up. Let my heart stop when it did. And then I went out on my first solo mission."
You bite down on your tongue, realizing none of this is going to do any good. Glancing up with a sigh, you're half expecting Wanda to have left already. Instead, she's sunk down on your bed and watches you with eyes that search for something. As your eyes rest on hers, you notice the slight raise of her brows, revealing she's waiting for you to talk. You oblige.
"It was a hit. No witnesses, so civilians weren't off limits," you clear your throat as you carefully sit down into your chair, "I did it. Not an ounce of conscience, there was only the job. And as I left, it started to rain."
Wanda contorts her face in confusion, watching you lean onto your shaking knees, "It was the first time I had felt rain in years. I just stood there, letting it fall over my skin. I had felt pain every day of my life but right then? All I could feel were those drops along my skin. Washing away the blood. Washing away my deeds."
You chuckle at how stupid you're sounding as you run your finger along the calluses of your hand, eyeing the scars on your arms, remembering the scars on your body.
"I know that didn't happen. I just... I had been told every day what to do, what to say, what to think, what to feel. That the moment I became a mercenary, saw the world for my own, I could choose my own life. I could choose my jobs. But I was lost without a moral compass," you glance up at Wanda with a soft grin that tries to hold the stinging in your eyes, "But, you know that already."
Wanda nods, silent as you stand up without another word. You slide your journal from the desk into your hands, opening your dresser as you pile some clothes in your arms. Resting your hand on the new dent in your wall, you can feel the tightness in your stomach, the flatness of your stare.
Clenching your brow, you turn to her, "I know you don't trust me. You've told me enough that you want to rib off my limbs. But, I really am sorry for what happened. Maybe if I had died that day you'd be better off."
You give a small grin but you can't hide the grimace on your face as you think of all the others you've affected. It overwhelms you just to even think about your repercussions. Stopping at the door, you peer back at her frozen state,
"You can stay in here if you wish. Trash the place, whatever. I haven't slept in the weight room yet."
As you grab the sleeping bag from the floor and toss it over your shoulder, Wanda lets out a breath, her choked cry freezes your steps. You glance back to see her quietly wiping her eyes.
"Just one thing," you say, turning as you hold onto the door handle. She doesn't look but you keep going, "what else did you see in my head?"
This grabs her attention as she gently looks at you, "I... it was hard at first. I wasn't expecting... so much pain. The regret."
You clench your jaw, all the things you wished to never give the light of day. To try to live blissfully in a perfect life where you controlled it. Everything was waiting like wolves at the door.
"Your desire to just... to stop everything."
You dig your toe into the ground, you shouldn't have asked. You bite down hard on your lip, stopping its trembling.
"How do you keep going?"
Her voice is so quiet you almost miss what she's saying to you. Glancing into her tired eyes, you quietly pat the clothes in your arms. You'd never thought about what keeps you going, let alone had someone ask. Yet, as you look at her, she's not asking just because she's curious. She's asking for herself. A question you know she's asked herself a million times, why keep going?
Nodding in the realization, you kneel down carefully next to her, grimacing at the dull pain that radiates through you. Sucking in a calming breath you look at her, "I spent a long time, I struggled a long time. I didn't want to keep going. But you just... no matter what happens, you just keep finding something to fight for."
Wanda's eyes linger on yours for a moment, hearing the sincerity in your words as your voice breaks. You swallow tightly, "I'm still trying to find something."
You bow your head slightly, hiding your pained grimace as you stand,
"Goodnight Maximoff."
As you begin to shut the door, the softest glow of sunset red warps around the door and stops it. You open your stinging eyes and peer back inside as Wanda slowly looks to you. There's a tightness in your chest as you know she can see your trembling chin and sagging shoulders.
"Goodnight, Y/N."

[Steve]
There are several gasps around the room as the rest of the team follows my gaze down to the faint blue glow clearly radiating off of Willa’s skin. Rolling backwards a short distance from the table, I take a deep breath, trying to figure out what the best course of action would be. Bruce and Tony rise to their feet; as soon as the scientist is up, Nat quickly follows, grabbing his arm to hold him back. With everything we just discussed prior to the kids arriving, the tension in the room has only amplified.
“Okay, okay sweetheart,” I begin to hum steadily, gently wrapping my arms around the shaking girl in hopes of calming her some. “It’s okay. You don’t have to hide, Willa. You’re safe.”
“Jarvis, status on 24?” Tony blurts out.
“The project is fully loaded in your laboratory, sir,” the robot responds. My eyes shoot up at Tony, glaring at him. Every other face in the room but Peter’s does the same.
“Shut it down,” I command, the tone of my voice causing Willa to flinch under my shirt. My hand finds her back through the fabric and rubs soothingly along it; I don’t want to scare her. But Tony needs to be put in his place. Against my bare skin, I can feel that Willa is unusually warm. “Bruce,” I turn to the doctor, “should we take her upstairs? Should we take her to medical? What do we do?” I ask, trying not to panic.
“I don’t want to move her right away. Can we get the room cleared out?” he asks, turning to the others. Clint, Wanda, and Thor all leave without a sound. Tony stands his ground firmly, Nat keeping her hand firmly on his arm.
“Tony, we’re leaving,” she states lowly.
“No,” the bitter retorts, “you’re leaving. I’m taking the kid to my lab and figuring out why the hell she’s glowing blue.”
At the word ‘lab’, Willa shrivels up on my lap. “Please, n-no- sorry, sorry. Please, sorry. Please,” she starts to beg, causing Natasha to tighten her grip on the genius’s arm, sending him a death glare for scaring the poor thing even more.
“M-Mr. Stark?” Peter squeaks from behind him. Tony turns slightly to face the shaking boy, who now has tears running down his cheeks.
“Pete,” I breathe, my heart breaking for the teen as his head hangs low. “You’re alright, son. Why don’t you go upstairs and find Thor? He was talking about wanting to watch movies with you earlier.”
But Peter doesn’t listen. Instead, he peers up fearfully at his mentor, looking like a cornered puppy facing a beating. “P-please don’t put Willa in a lab. She’s so scared of that stuff, sir- please don’t. I-I don’t know what happened; I-I’m so sorry. She fell asleep on the couch while we were watching The Backyardigans… a-and then all of a sudden she was awake and crying and glowing like that. Please don’t put her in a lab. Please,” he pouts, but not even the tearful words from his favorite spiderling can change Tony’s mind.
“Peter, we can talk about this later,” the man says quietly. “No one’s mad at you,” he adds. “We just need to figure out what’s going on with her.”
“We can do that without turning her into your living experiment,” Nat hisses.
The little girl’s sobs are growing louder from under my shirt as Bruce sighs heavily, stating, “You need to get out, Tony. You’re scaring the life out of her. Steve has primary guardianship, so any decisions about her health come down to his discretion, anyway. You’re just picking a fight you can’t win,” the doctor reasons.
Tony pinches the bridge of his nose, grinding his teeth together in frustration. “Fine,” he eventually grunts. “But this discussion isn’t over. You can’t keep the secrets hidden in her body locked up forever.” At this, Nat begins to drag him out, and he reluctantly goes along with her.
Peter takes one last sad look at his friend hiding under my shirt, sniffling. “I-I’m so sorry,” he sniffles once again, making it apparent that he truly blames himself for everything that’s gone wrong with the situation.
“Don’t worry about it, kid,” Bruce tells him warmly. Peter nods sadly one more time before turning around and leaving, closing the door behind him.
With everyone gone but Bruce, the room now feels much larger; finally, there seems to be enough space and air to breathe. The doctor steps over in front of me and kneels down cautiously, visually examining the glow through the fabric.
“Willa,” I murmur softly, causing the girl to wince in fright. “You can come out now, doll. Everyone’s gone but Bruce.” This, however, does little to comfort the child, and for a moment I wish I would’ve asked Peter to stay, given how skillful he tends to be at calming his friend down.
“No lab, p-please. Y-you- you promised, please- you pr-promised,” Willa sobs, clinging onto my torso as tightly as she can.
“Hey- no lab, sweetheart. That’s right; I did promise. I promised you, didn’t I? No one’s taking you to a lab, Willa. You’re safe,” I try, but I know that Tony’s words have done a great deal of irreversible damage. Up until this point, a lab hasn’t been mentioned in front of Willa since her rescue from Seoul. She had hopefully grown to trust that she would never be put in a lab again. Unfortunately, this fear has been resurfaced due to Tony’s carelessness.
“Please, sorry, w-will do better… will do anything,” the small girl implores.
“You haven’t done anything wrong, darlin’,” I soothe, heartbroken that she thinks somehow any of this might be her fault. “Tony’s the one who’s out of line here, but the rest of us will protect you. I promised you no more labs the very first day we met. And I’m gonna keep that promise, okay?” The child doesn’t respond; instead, she just sniffles, seemingly unable to believe my words.
Reaching down gently, I grab on to the hem of my shirt, trying to lift it up to uncover the girl. In response, I earn a frightened sob as she continues to hide her face away against my skin. “It’s okay, Willa,” Bruce begins to speak softly. “Steve and I won’t let Tony put you in a lab. He can’t; if he tries to he’ll get in big trouble. We won’t let anything happen to you,” he assures her. Though at this point, I don’t know how much any of what we say means to her.
“Willa-bug, you’re glowing,” I whisper mildly. The small girl cowers slightly in my lap at my statement, nodding. “I didn’t know you could do that; I think it’s kind of cool,” I admit, trying to lighten the mood and let her know she’s not in trouble for anything. At this, Willa glances up at me, almost in disbelief. I smile gently down at her, my hand finding her cheek and rubbing softly. She flinches at first, but after a few moments, she slowly starts to ease into the touch. Her eyes trail over to Bruce, and he smiles warmly at her as well. Gradually, I feel her relax against me, and I sigh, relieved. I’ve learned that when frightened, Willa is hard to communicate with; she needs to be reassured and comforted, both verbally and physically, before anything productive can happen. Once she’s settled down, she’s much easier to work with.
“Hey, did you know Wanda glows, too?” Bruce whispers, covering his mouth comically as if he’s sharing a big secret. Willa nods slowly. “I don’t think any of us can do that but you two,” he tells her, “I wish I knew how to glow like that.” This seems to calm Willa even more, and she turns again slightly so that she can see the doctor better, her eyes finally drying. Carefully, I pull my shirt back down, covering my torso again. “Are you able to control your glow?”
Willa shakes her head, looking down at herself. The blue radiates a few inches beyond her skin, the color reminding me of a clear summer sky. Not too saturated or vibrant, it’s a very soft shade.
“Does it have to do with your healing powers?” I ask, wondering if she’s possibly shifted.
The child shakes her head again. “Don’t glow for that,” she informs, causing Bruce to nod thoughtfully.
“Has this ever happened before?” the doctor asks her.
Willa nods. “One time,” she admits.
“Only once?” Bruce asks. “Do you remember how long ago?”
The girl furrows her brow, taking a few moments to think before finally shaking her head. “That’s okay, doll,” I assure her. Living with Hydra her whole life, it doesn’t surprise me that she has a hard time conceptualizing her timeline.
“Do you know why it happens? Or what it does?” Bruce questions. At this, the little girl shrinks down slightly. Before I can say or do anything to stop it, she’s begun quivering again. Her bottom lip trembles as tears build back up in her eyes, immediately sending me into a state of concern.
“Hey, hey, you’re okay,” I hum, rubbing my thumb across her cheek again gently. She gazes up at me warily, a single tear trailing down from the corner of her eye. I wipe it away softly, murmuring, “You can tell us, sweetheart. You don’t have to be scared.”
“B-bad,” she whimpers. “B-beat Willa for it.”
“The bad guys beat you for it?” Bruce asks to clarify. She nods.
“We won’t hurt you, pumpkin. You’re safe here, remember? We keep you safe; we would never hurt you,” I tell her. “Whatever this power is, whatever the reason for it happening, you won’t be in trouble.” Willa takes in a shaky breath, turning and burying her face back into my t-shirt.
“They were s-so mad,” she sniffles, her words slightly muffled by the soft fabric. “H-happens when Willa loves someone.”
Her words take me completely by surprise. When she loves someone? To be honest, up until now I wasn’t quite sure how much she knew about the word love or its meaning, to begin with. I’ve never told her I love her, even though I do with all my heart. Because we haven’t crossed the threshold of her identifying me as her parent, I just figured telling her “I love you” should wait. The last thing I want to do is make her feel rushed or pressured. So when she says she’s glowing because she loves someone… I have so many questions about what that could mean.
“When you love someone?” I repeat softly. The shaking child cowers at my words, but nods.
“P-Peter,” she reveals. “Fell as'eep on his lap, w-watching Backy-yard'gans.” I feel my whole body softening at her words; Bruce is noticeably affected too, his entire demeanor shifting as a look of fondness crosses his face. “Th-then had a dream about Steve,” Willa continues. Her eyes once again rise up to meet mine, the green glittering with tears. “Love Steve, too.”
I don’t realize I’m crying until I see a teardrop fall and drip onto Willa’s nose. My arms wrap around her tightly as I hold her up in front of me, wanting to look her in the eyes as directly as I can. Fear lingers in her gaze, as if she’s afraid I’ll be upset for what she’s revealed to me. But she couldn’t be more wrong. I didn’t know it until now, but I’ve been waiting for her to say those words to me ever since I found her in that tiny little room all the way back in Korea. I’ve been waiting for someone to say those words to me my whole life. For someone to trust me like this. For someone to need me like this.
“Oh Willa,” I breathe, my voice cracking as I brush a few stray hairs out of her face. “My Willa-bug… I’ve loved you since the moment I met you, Willa. My sweet girl. My best girl.”
“Best girl,” she repeats, her arms flying open and wrapping around my neck as I pull her in close to me, holding onto her for dear life. I bury my nose into her soft brown hair as we embrace, breathing in her familiar apple scent and taking a second to close my eyes. More than anything, I just want to remember this moment always. Even when it’s hard, even when it seems like there’s nothing I could ever do to make things better for her, to heal her brokenness; I need to remember this moment. I need to remember the way she feels right now, like a morning after an endless night. Like a soft sun finally rising.
“Willa?” Bruce asks, breaking us out of our moment. I open my eyes as Willa turns slightly back to look at the doctor. “You said this happened one time when you were with Hydra?” The girl nods. “Who did you love?”
“A man. H-he was… h-he took care of Willa,” she tells him quietly. “Came in sometimes and helped when she was hurt. But then one day, he- he changed. Became so m-mean, so scary.”
“Do you remember what he was called?” I ask, brushing the child’s hair back from her face.
After a moment of thinking, she opens her mouth again and speaks. “One time, think he said his name was Bucky.”

Thor x Daughter!reader - All a lie
Tumblr media
Hope your doing ok! I had an idea, Thor is raising Loki’s daughter and she calls Thor Dad one day Loki shows up at avengers tower and sees her laughing with Thor who is hugging her. Loki calls to her because despite everything that is still his little girl, R is confused when she is gently tugged away from Thor to face a man she doesn’t remember. Loki explains he is her dad and she should come with him but R turns to Thor and calls him dad which breaks Loki’s heart. Then when Thor explains she is Loki’s daughter but Loki was believed to be dead so Thor had raised her. R gets upset and runs away. Sorry if that’s a lot! - Anon 💜
Humming to yourself, you padded into the common room, bottle of water in your hand as you tossed it up and down.
Seeing your dad sat on the couch you grinned from ear to ear as you slowly crept over, standing behind him you unscrewed the drink and pretended to pour it.
Unfortunately you didn’t hear Clint coming up from behind you.
“(Y/N)!”
You screamed and dropped the bottle, pouring it all over Thor making him jump up and spin around to face you.
“Clint!” You laughed.
You turned to Thor and gave him a huge sheepish smile.
“Sorry dad, I wasn’t actually supposed to pour it.” You snickered.
“You’re in for it now.” He chuckled.
You ran across the common room while Theo chased you. Once he caught you he swept you into his arms and hugged you tightly, the pair of you laughing loudly.
Thor set you down and turned to the doorway so you did the same.
A black haired man stood there in shock looking at the pair of you.
“Brother?” Thor asked.
You looked between Thor and the strange man in confusion.
He walked over and gently took your hand making you even more confused.
“(Y/N)...” he said softly.
You frowned and pulled yourself away, backing up against your dad, looking up at him then back to the man who seemed pained.
“I... don’t know you...” you muttered.
He seemed even more hurt and looked st Thor hopelessly.
“You’re my little girl...” he said softly, “You’re (Y/N), my daughter.”
“No, Thor is my dad.” You snapped.
Thor took your shoulders and gently turned you around to face him, giving you a sad look.
“Dad..?” You asked.
“This is my brother, Loki.”
You shook your head at him.
“I don’t understand, so he’s my uncle then?”
Thor sighed and shook his head, giving your shoulders a little squeeze.
“No... Loki.. he’s your real father. I... We thought he had died, so I took you in and raised you myself.” Thor said gently.
You backed away, looking between the pair of them in confusion and sadness.
“N..no... you.. you’re...” You trialed off.
You glanced between Thor and Loki, both of them had the same upset and pained looks on their faces.
“I was belived dead when you were too young to remember me... but I’m back now, you can come with me...” Loki said gently.
“I don’t want too...”
You turned to Thor, everything was upside down, everything you thought you knew was a lie and you didn’t know what to do.
“Let us talk about this.” Thor whispered.
“No... I.. I.. can’t.. I don’t understand...”
Thor tried to walk closer but when you backed away he stopped and took a few steps away.
Loki tried to do the same but he got the same response and he too backed away.
“Why.. why didn’t you tell me...?”
“I could never find the right time, but now I believe you should know.”
You wiped a stray tear that had fallen, and shook your head once more, looking around the practically empty common room.
“Everything.. it was... everything is a lie!” You yelled.
“No, (Y/N)-“ “everything you said to me was a lie! Everything I was ever told by you Thor, none of it was true!”
You then spun around to Loki.
“You’re not my dad! You weren’t there! Neither of you are my dad!”
“(Y/N) listen to us!” Thor pleaded.
“No! All you’ve done is lie to me!” You yelled.
“Please!” Thor begged.
You shook your head, Thor tried to take your hand but you ducked underneath him and when loki tried to you ran around him.
“Leave me alone!” You screamed.
With that you ran, heading straight to the lift while tears clouded your eyes.
The doors shut quickly behind you and you started to sob.
“Would you like me to call someone?” Jarvis asked.
“N...no I want to be left alone..”
You were taken to the ground floor and without thinking you ran from the building, straight to the only place where you could find comfort right now.
You banged on the door until it was opened.
“(Y/N)? What’s wrong?!” May rushed out.
You shook your head and ran into the apartment, barrelling through a bedroom door.
“P..Pete...”
“(Y/N)!”
Peter ran over and wrapped you into a hug as you cried. Right now he was the only thing you knew was true in your life

Already dating
Word count: 1618
Genre: Probably fluff, idk really
Pairing: Natasha x gn!reader
Warnings: None (let me know if I need to add any)
Request: could you maybe write something with Natasha x male reader (if your comfortable, otherwise you can write it with female or gender neutral) where Natasha blushes when the reader compliments her in front of the team and the team immediately goes crazy and does everything in their power to get them together, only to find out they've been dating all along?
Summary: Steve and Tony (mostly Tony) lock you in an elevator to admit your feelings, not knowing you’re already together.
A/n: Thanks @mochamoff for the request, sorry it took so long to do it! I’m writing this authors note over a week before I’m posting the fic which is unusual because usually I post within twenty four hours of finishing. Anyways it feels nice to be on a break and this fic being posted means I’m officially back which I’m excited for. To be honest this fic isn’t the whole team, just Tony and Steve, but I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out so I hope you all enjoy reading!
Tumblr media
“Next time you have to listen to me in the field Stark.” Steve says as soon as everyone is settled into their place on the jet.
“Actually I don’t, you have absolutely no power over me and as much as you want to be the leader of this team you are not so stop acting like it.” Tony snaps back.
“Someone has to step up and lead.” Steve tells him. “It’s not like you could do any better, you would probably mess things up.”
“Maybe I would, but I would do a hell of a lot better than you are doing.” Tony says. “You like to pretend you’re all high and good and above us but who made you leader? Nobody. You crave control so you took it.”
“I did what needed to be done.”
You watch them snap back and forth at one another a few more times, rolling your eyes at Natasha. She gives you a small smile to show that she’s amused and turns her attention back to your two teammates whose argument has only gotten more and more heated.
“Y/n what do you think?” Tony asks, catching you off guard.
“About what?”
“About who would be a better leader for the team.” he explains. You think for a moment and they both stand as tall as possible (in Tony’s case it isn’t tall at all) and puff out their chests. You scoff, the male ego is so big, even in men who are good and try to do the right thing.
“Neither.” you decide.
“Neither- but the team needs a leader, you have to pick someone.” Tony splutters.
“Just because I don’t think the best leader is either of you doesn’t mean I don’t think the team needs a leader.” you tell him. How one of the smartest people in the world can’t figure that out for himself is beyond you.
“So who would you choose then?” Steve asks, confused.
“Natasha obviously.” you say, smiling at her. The corners of her mouth tug up slightly and even that small movement makes you feel proud.
“No offense, but Natasha???” Tony asks, seemingly outraged. “Why?”
“Well first of all she doesn’t have a fragile male ego like you dumbasses.” you tell them. “But it’s more than just that. She’s smart, both book smart and street smart. She can hack into computers and memorize information easily and knows how to blend in, or to get people to like her. She is more rational than the both of you combined but is also good at making decisions on the fly. She is an excellent fighter and can keep track of strategies and she has connections in and out of the government, with backup plans for almost every situation. Not to mention she has an amazing heart and don’t argue like some other people on our team tend to do. And of course she’s absolutely gorgeous but that doesn’t have anything to do with it.”
You wink at her at the end of your mini speech and are surprised to find her cheeks noticeably pink. She can’t help the smile that creeps onto her face when she thinks over your words.
“Abort mission, Romanoff is blushing and smiling, I think I might be about to die.” Tony states obnoxiously.
“Shut up, you’re just annoyed that she likes me better than you.” Natasha tells him, taking a breath to (mostly) collect herself.
“You’re scary when you’re happy. I haven’t seen you like that before.” he says. “Are you in love with Y/n or something?”
“Shut up.”
Tony smirks. “Make me.”
Natasha takes one threatening step towards him and that’s all it takes for him to back away, stuttering out apologies and mumbling under his breath about how Natasha is too scary to be a team leader. Natasha’s scare tactics do seem to work though because he doesn’t speak to anybody but himself for the rest of the ride home.
As soon as the jet touches down you and Natasha exit, heading straight to the room where you are supposed to be debriefed. Steve tries to follow but Tony grabs his arm to let him know to hold back a second.
“I know I joke but I honestly think they’re in love with each other.” Tony tells him. “I didn’t see it before today but there’s no way Y/n’s speech was platonic, who memorizes lists of reasons why they like their friends, not to mention their flirty wink at the end. And then Natasha, she’s scary but she was acting weird and happy around Y/n.”
“I hate to say this but I agree with you and they would make a cute couple.” Steve says. “But we should probably catch up now.”
Tony takes Steve’s words as an opportunity to stop being serious and become obnoxious again. “Onward dear captain, lead the way fearsome leader, how ever could I-”
“Tony I’m trying to be polite but you are making it very hard.”
---
“Tony no.”
“Tony yes.”
“That is a horrible idea.”
Tony opens his mouth in outrage. “I think it’s a pretty good idea actually.”
“I won’t work.” Steve counters.
“Well I think it well and need I’m the only genius here.” he says smugly.
“You can’t force love!” Steve tells Tony, running his hand through his hair in frustration.”
“Ah, ah, ah,” Tony says, “I’m not forcing love, they are already in love. All I’m doing is giving them a little push.”
“By locking them in an elevator?” Steve asks in a deadpan voice.
“Exactly.”
“You can’t just go around locking people-” Steve starts to say but he gets cut off by Tony.
“Shhhhhhh, hi Y/n, hi Natasha.”
“Hi guys, what are you up to?” you ask, obvious to what was going on seconds before you entered the room. Natasha eyes them suspiciously because they are acting weird, holding their bodies stiffly, which means they are hiding something.
“We were just about to head down to the training room, want to come?” Tony lies smoothly while Steve shakes his head in the background.
“That sounds good,” you reply, “you want Tasha?”
“Okay.” she agrees, still eyeing both of them, Tony in particular suspiciously.
“Great!” Tony says and starts to walk towards the elevator and the rest of you follow him, Steve trying to convince himself that going along with Tony’s plan is doing no harm.
“Ladies first.” he says, stepping off to the side and giving a big flourish with his arm. It’s weird but then again Tony is always weird so you don’t think too much of it, stepping into the elevator. As soon as Natasha follows you in he orders Jarvis to close and lock the doors and to prevent the elevator from moving and then pulling up a screen so he can watch you.
“You better run when I get out of here!” Natasha yells. “You too Steve!”
“You’re going to thank me later.” Tony says. “Steve, why don’t you explain why we locked them in.”
“Um,” Steve hesitates, not knowing where to start, “well we think that you two need to talk about, um, feelings.”
“Feelings?” you ask, confused, while realization dawns over Natasha’s face.
“Um, yeah feelings.” Steve responds, feeling very awkward and hoping this works so he didn’t do all that for nothing.
“They don’t know we’re dating and they’re trying to get us together.” Natasha leans over and whispers in your ear before straightening back up and talking to Tony again. “I didn’t take you for such a romantic Stark.”
“What? I’m not- romantic me? Pepper says I’m the least romantic guy she’s ever been with.” he splutters, trying to regain his masculinity.
“And that is not a compliment.” you tell him. “But for some reason even though ‘you aren’t romantic’ you wanted to get us together.”
“Maybe I did,” he says. “but you have to admit that my plan is amazing and it's totally working.”
Natasha snorts “What part of this conversation screams working to you?”
“Well you haven’t killed Y/n yet and neither of you have denied your feelings so it’s obviously working. I expect a thank you speech dedicated to me at your wedding.” He says arrogantly.
“There will be no speech.” Natasha tells him.
“But there will be a wedding?” He asks, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively and Steve has to look away because it looks ridiculous.
“Hopefully.” you say, teasing Tony with your vagueness but also making Natasha smile as she thinks about what that might be like.
“Told you my plan would work.” Tony brags to Steve before telling Jarvis to release you from the elevator.
“Your plan sucked.” Natasha tells him. “We were already dating dumbasses.”
She grabs your hand and pulls you out of the room as Steve and Tony stare after you, shocked.
“Did you know about this?” Tony asks, looking at Steve with suspicion.
“Not at all.” Steve answers, his mouth still half open. In hindsight it should have been obvious. Of course Natasha wouldn’t want to be open about her dating life right away, she likes her secrets way too much.
---
“You owe me fifty bucks Y/n.” Natasha tells you once you’re out of earshot.
“Seriously?” you whine.
“You said they already knew but they didn't, so pay up.” She holds her hand outwards expectantly and you both laugh.
“Later.” you tell her. “There are more important things to do now.”
“Hmm, like what?” she teases gently, taking a step closer to you. Your breath catches because you still can’t believe you are dating someone this beautiful. You match her halfway and pull her into a deep kiss, only pulling back when you need to breath.
“This.”

Previous / Next
Tony doesn’t enjoy fighting. Which is kind of ironic considering that he is seen as a hero that has to fight the bad guys for the greater good. But as much as he dislikes fighting he knows that ever since Yensin he can’t just stand by the side he has to help people and Iron Man is one of the only ways he knows how.
Flying to confront Ivan and Hammer was not how he wanted to spend his evening. In fact, he really wanted his evening to consist of eating crappy take-out and watching a movie with his personal assistant Liza. Is that weird? No, she’s one of his closest friends. Hell, the only reason she is still his personal assistant is so that he can have her around all the time, plus he would be lost without her. He tries not to dwell on the pit that opens in his stomach when he thinks of her leaving again. Tony is wrapped up in his thoughts the whole way to Manhattan, he is hoping that he will be able to reason with Hammer, but he has a sinking feeling that he won’t. That feeling is confirmed when Hammer acts like he has no idea what Tony is talking about. But it’s when Rhodey’s suit takes aim at him along with all the drones that everything goes to shit.
Tony flies away from the crowd, all of the drones and Rhodey following after him. He calls for Jarvis to break into Rhodey’s suit so that they can get back control but nothing is working. So, Tony does the only thing he can do: he fights. Luckily Natasha is able to override Rhodey’s suit and give him back control. They spend too much time arguing about who should have the high ground that they are suddenly surrounded. Having each other's backs they fight and destroy all of the drones. But as Tony is learning, nothing is ever easy and Ivan has outdone himself with the new electrical whips. Using the move that ended up mainly destroying his mansion, Rhodey and Tony fire their repulsors at each other, the resulting black fatally wounding Ivan. Before dying Ivan looks at Tony with a smirk. “You lose”
The drones begin to flash and all Tony can think about is getting everyone including Pepper out safely. Luckily Pepper is clever and had called the police when everything had started meaning almost everyone had already been evacuated. Everyone but Pepper who was standing right next to a drone. Barreling towards her as fast as possible, Tony gets ahold of her right before the drones detonate. Flying her to a roof out of the blast radius he sets her down.
“You just had to be a hero and stay back didn’t you?”
“I had to do something Tony you know that.”
“No wonder Happy is your soulmate, you are both way too self-sacrificing.”
“Tony”
“No you don’t get it Pep, I love you. I will always love you. But I don’t get to be with you just because some arbitrary higher power says you should be with someone else?” He is yelling now, angry at her, angry at himself but most of all angry that he will never get to have a soulmate. That he will never have that kind of love. A change in the display on his helmet distracts him. “Jarvis, what was that light that just went off?”
“Miss Elizabeth was watching from the house to make sure you were ok, she just cut the feed.”
He doesn’t have long to wonder about that bit of information before Pepper calling his name pulls him back to the conversation at hand.
“Tony, I know you love me. But it’s not romantic love, I have always been there for you and you have equated that devotion to love. But you don’t love me that way, not really.”
“How do you know that?”
“Because for a genius you’re an idiot. I’m not going to spell it out for you Tony, you will have to figure it out for yourself. I’m not the one for you, and who knows maybe one day you will get your mark and find the one. Just, don’t give up on love just because I don’t return your feelings ok?” Tony just nods, too tired to say anymore, too tired to think anymore. All he wants is to get back to his house and make sure that Liza is ok.
The whole way back to his house he is on autopilot, not really paying attention to anything around him. As always his thoughts are going a million miles an hour but the common denominator throughout is you. Tony tries not to think of the implications. Arriving back at the mansion Tony calls out for you as his robots remove his suit.
“Jarvis is Elizabeth here?”
“No sir, Miss Martin left shorty after cutting the feed to your suit.” Tony’s stomach drops. You left, again. Why would you leave? Did he do something wrong? You were watching the feed, did you leave just because you knew he was safe? Or did you hear what he said to Pepper? He shakes his head at that thought. Even if you did hear it shouldn’t be a reason for you to run away again right?
“Do you know where she went?”
“The location on her phone suggests that she is back at her apartment sir.”
Hearing that Tony’s heart rate slowed back down to a more normal speed. You hadn’t run away again you just went home. You must have been tired. But then why didn’t you just stay in the guest room here instead of driving all the way home? He would call Sarah in the morning to make sure that you were ok. Stepping into the kitchen he notices that there is food in Tupperware on the counter. Opening it he sees some jambalaya and cupcakes. You must have made them while you were watching what was happening. He sighs, why didn’t you wait for him to get back. He knew he wouldn't sleep well without the answer so he warmed back up the jambalaya and headed down to his lab to work out some of the kinks on his suit.
Tony’s first thought as he came back to consciousness was why the fuck does my back hurt so much? Followed quickly by my bed is way more comfortable than this. Prying open his eyes he realized that he must have fallen asleep at some point in his lab. Taking his time so as to not aggravate the crick in his neck that was making itself known, Tony slowly sat up. Wiping a hand at the drool that had collected around his mouth he took stock of the room around him. There was the barest bit of pink showing through the windows so it was still very early. The piece he had been working on had fallen off the table at some point during the night. He could feel a screwdriver-shaped divot on his cheek from where he had placed his head and his whole body ached.
“I really need to get into yoga or something if I’m going to keep this shit up.” Tony takes a moment to stretch out the knots in his back. “Jarvis, what time is it?”
“It is 5:30 am sir, you were asleep for 3 hours which is 30 minutes more than yesterday.”
Tony snorts at the extra information. Leave it to Jarvis to try to guilt him into sleeping more. Walking up the steps towards his room he starts to think out a plan for his morning. It’s too early in the morning to call Sarah yet and ask about Elizabeth, so I will need to waste a little time.
Tony spent 30 minutes in the shower staring intently at an inconsistency in the tile before he was able to shake himself from his thoughts. Washing his hair quickly he stepped out, wrapping himself in a towel he walked over to his closet. Deciding on a Black Sabbath t-shirt and a pair of jeans he grabbed his phone and dialed Sarah’s number. He knew for a fact that she would be awake considering she needed to be at work early that day to put some finishing touches on the project she had been working on. Sarah answered on the second ring.
“Hey Tony, I was wondering when you would call.”
“Then you know why I’m calling.”
“Of course I do, you’re worried that Elizabeth ran away again and whether she is ok or not,” Sarah states as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“And?” Tony’s impatience starts to show through his tone, no matter how much he was trying to hide it.
“She’s here, sleeping still, she had a long night.” She reassures, knowing that he won’t calm down until he knows that you are safe.
“I’d like to come by and talk with her.” Tony is pacing now, he’s not sure when it started but he isn’t sure that he will be able to make it stop. All he can think about is how much he needs to see you, to make sure with his own eyes that you haven’t left again. He is pulled out of his thoughts by Sarah’s voice through the speaker.
“Sure, I won’t be here though, I have to get to work, but I’ll leave a key under the mat. You should wait at least an hour before heading this way, I doubt she’ll be waking up anytime soon.” With that, the call disconnects after a hurried thank you.
Tony decides that he can’t stay at his house any longer all of his nervous energy is making him restless so he does what he normally does when he feels this way, he goes for a drive. He is able to distract himself for exactly 30 minutes before he decides to head to your house, grabbing you your favorite muffin and coffee on his way as a peace offering. Walking up to your apartment he takes a deep breath, he can’t remember the last time that he was this nervous but he doesn’t allow himself to dwell on why before finding the key and letting himself in. The size of your shared apartment is the first thing that he notices, it is much too small for you and Sarah especially when you do so much for him. He starts a list in his head of everything he needs to do in order to build the two of you a house closer to him and closer to Stark industries. It would have to have a large garage for Sarah and an equally large library for you, with a large window seat for you to read in. With his plans firmly in mind, he sits down and starts writing emails and looking at available properties. After all Tony Stark is nothing if not efficient.
He has just finished with one of his emails when he hears you start moving in your room. He forces himself to relax on the couch and school his face to disguise his nervousness. The door opens and he decides that this version of you has just become one of his absolute favorites. You are in a too-large t-shirt and comfy-looking short shorts, he may check out your ass for a moment too long, the shorts don’t help. Your hair is piled up in a bun on your head, little pieces escaping and framing your face. He can’t help the smirk that graces his face when he realizes that you haven’t seen him yet.
He watches in amusement as you step out of the bathroom with your toothbrush hanging out of your mouth before your eyes land on him. He can see the exact moment that you noticed him when your whole body freezes. He chuckles to himself as you let out a squeak and rush back into the bathroom, the water running as you clean out your mouth. He watches you closely as you step back into the living room, trying not to frown at your withdrawn body language.
“Mr. Stark, what are you doing here?” He isn’t able to hide the frown at the coldness of your voice or the fact that you didn’t call him Tony. He decides that being blunt is the best way forward.
“You left me.” He hears himself say, he is glad that there is no trace of how upset he actually is. He watches the confusion cross your face as you state that he left you first. He has to reign himself in from saying that it wasn’t the same and how much he wanted to see you when he got back.
“Yes, but I had to and when you told me to come back to you I thought that you would be there when I did, but you were gone.” He knows that you will be able to see how upset he actually is no matter how much he is trying to hide it but he can’t seem to let himself be that vulnerable right now. Not when he wasn’t sure how you would react. He tries not to get annoyed at the obvious lie in your answer, your bed at his house is just as comfortable, in fact, you had mentioned to him multiple times how much you preferred your room at his place. He hears the pleading note in your voice and decides not to call you out on it too hard.
“But you stayed long enough to make me dinner and cupcakes?” He raises his eyebrow and studies your reaction, his voice is taunting but he can’t seem to stop it.
“I stress bake.” is the too quick reply, followed by a small amount of truth, “and anyway I stayed until Jarvis told me that you were ok… I thought you would appreciate getting home and being able to go home… not worry about me.” He hears only part of what you say watching instead, the way that you are fidgeting and pulling at your fingers. He hears a trace of melancholy in your voice at the end of your sentence. Wait, you thought that he wouldn’t want to see you, that he wouldn’t want to see that you were safe. Oh no that just wouldn’t do.
“Sure I was tired but I definitely wanted to see you first.” He doesn’t back down, you have to understand how much you mean to him. He can’t help but feel a little agitated at your responses he can tell that you are lying to him but why? You never lie to him, you never hide from him like this so why start now?
He can hear the anger and sadness in your voice when you ask why it was so important for him that you were still there when he got back. His resolve begins to slip at this, why couldn’t you see that after the worry and adrenaline he had dealt with that night all he wanted was to see you?
“Because I was worried about you!” He cringes internally at the volume of his words, he didn’t mean to yell but he just couldn’t see why you weren’t listening, why you didn’t understand. Your answering question just causes his voice to raise a little more as the words that he has been trying to keep back spill out of his mouth.
“Because I thought that you would leave again!” He stops himself for a moment taking a deep breath before continuing with a softer tone. “I was worried that I would get back and you would be gone. I was worried that you would leave again, that you would run away again. Then I wasn’t able to get ahold of you this morning so I called Sarah to see if you were ok.”
He watches as your body seems to deflate at his words, your head dropping, and your gaze on the floor. “I’m sorry, Tony. Truly. Something happened while I was waiting for you to get back and I needed to have some time to collect my thoughts. Coming back to my apartment seemed like the best way to do that.” Your words and tone soothe the ache in his chest that he hadn’t realized had been there until it was gone. You were still here, you were safe. He allowed himself to relax a little bit but he still hoped that you would tell him what was actually bothering you, but he could be patient, for you he could.
“I’m not going anywhere, Tony. You’re stuck with me.” Your voice saying his name again allows him to release the rest of the tension that he had been holding onto. He smiles and walks over to you, pulling you into a hug and holding onto you just a little too tightly to be strictly platonic. He grins when he feels you hug him back before pulling back and clearing his throat, trying to act like it wasn’t a big deal.
“Don’t scare me like that again,” he says completely serious. You let out a small laugh before asking whether you should be saying that to him. He allows himself a large grin before turning on his teasing personality.
“Nope, only I get to make that request.” He can’t but reach out and grab your shoulder, enjoying the momentary contact before heading towards the door, calling back as he leaves “Enjoy your day off, I’ll see you bright and early tomorrow morning. I hope that you start to feel better.”
“See you tomorrow Tony, try to stay out of trouble for once.” You shoot back. He is unable to keep in a snort at your words before the door closes. He stands in the hall for a moment taking deep breaths, to calm himself before heading back to his car. Maybe he should just take the day off as well. This morning was enough for him to think about.
