Champion Frolic Funfacts/Lore Master Post

Here's a Master Post on Funfact/Lore about my very first experience in Sword And Shield!

1. I named the player character Frolic because of Hop's name. I just thought it would be adorable if the rivals had somewhat matching names.

2. I stared Shield as a Nuzlocke, but quickly got bored of playing the game when I finally got to the first gym, so I set the game down for a few years.

3. Once I returned to the game and remembered I was Nuzlocking it, I lost my dearest Yamper in the Water gym and decided to cancel the Nuzlocke and play normally. I didn't want to lose my sweet puppers </3

4. After removing the Nuzlocke conditions, I found myself enjoying the game far more, and quickly fell in love with the story and characters.

5. I ship Gloria/Victor with Hop, Postwick Shipping is beautiful.

6. I do not really ship Leon and Sonia, I'm a soft-core shipper of them. I can appreciate artwork/fanfics of them, but I don't think I'll create much shipping content of them. I'm more of a Leon X Raihan shipper, and will def make shipping content of them. However, I also have my own ship with Leon. I ship him with my first ever Pokemon Oc, Oleander. I will post lore/backstory on Oleander in another post after I finish their design!

7. Scorbunny was my starter of choice, and their name is Scorch and they have an amazing nature that ups their physical attack power, which in turn makes their Pyro Ball attack a deadly force to be reckoned with. It says in their summary that Scorch loves to battle, and honestly, rock on lil Bunny Man!

8. I one-shotted almost all of Leon's Pokémon, save for his Dragapult, I sent out Frostine, my Frosmoth, to ice-beam it. I didn't realize it had flamethrower. I one-shotted his Charizard with my Vaporeon named Mistral.

9. I completed the post-game in like 3 days.

10. I actually love the fact that Leon, for the most part, keeps the player and Hop out of the big and dangerous stuff. How he goes out of his way to handle things, like FINALLY! Adults doing their jobs! I honestly didn't mind the fact that the player wasn't going around beating down some evil team or something. Because I was honestly getting bored of that rinse and repeat plot. I actually enjoyed the fact that the player and Hop were just allowed to be kids and enjoy their journey, and the only reason they get involved is because they choose to do so.

In most games, the protagonist is kind of just pulled into the conflict just because they exist. But here, it's because the player and Hop want to help Galar and Leon. I know a lot of people really disliked how disconnected the story was, what with how the game didn't show you a lot of the stuff happening behind the scenes, but I didn't mind it, personally.

I was just happy running about doing trainer things and beating gyms, and connecting with my Pokémon through camping and eating curry. I've never felt more connected to my Pokémon in any other game than I do with my Pokémon in Sword and Shield.

11. I have many questions about how Leon survived getting blasted by Eternatus's power after it broke out of the Pokeball. Like how the fuck is he not dead? I even have a Youtube video I made discussing my confusion-

SERIOUSLY HOW IS HE NOT DEAD?! I LOVE HIM, BUT WHAT?! POKEMON, EXLAIN.

12. It took me so many hours to finally get the berry sweet to evolve my Milcery into Alcremie. I kept getting rare candies, and the same sweets over and over, I think it took like three to five days in total to evolve them into the Alcremie with the blue berries in their swirls. Whose bright idea was it to LOCK all of the evolutions for Alcremie behind such a WHACK system anyways? Like if they're gonna do that, then at least make it so you can battle the cafe twice a day, and one victory gives you a guaranteed sweets prize!

13. The Water-bike kind of sucks, like even with the upgrades you're still kind of slow in the water, I hate when I'm riding the bike and accidentally hit the water and all the momentum just... stops. It's a buzzkill, like let me go FAST!

14. I feel as though I understand Leon, I easily get lost in the game, and forget where shit is. Honestly, I don't blame him for getting lost. Without being able to fly from place to place, I think it would take me hours to figure out how to get back to where I wanna go.

15. Leon is the first ever character to make me read character x reader fics. I am not ashamed of that.

16. I noticed while playing that Leon and Hop have such an interesting dynamic with one another and their family members, and I wish it had been explored more. Like, their mother and grandmother seem to really only talk about Leon, and there's no pictures of Hop to be seen, and well it just seems Hop is put on the backburner, while Leon is at the forefront of the family. I really do wish that this Leon and Hop and their family aspect was explored more, because it's obvious Hop really feels pressured to be just as great as Lee, and to not drag his name through the mud. In the game it's really obvious that Hop has some complicated emotions when it comes to Leon. He loves and adores his brother so much, but he also feels lesser than him, feels like he'll give him a bad name if he doesn't become just as great as him.

17. Hop made me feel for him in the game, never before have I ever felt so conflicted in defeating a rival and crushing their hopes and dreams right in front of them - Wally is a close second-. Like, fuck me, this poor boy cannot catch a break. To be honest, him wanting to become a Pokémon professor didn't hit right with me. I feel like he would be more suited to a Pokémon Ranger type, it just seems more his style. Going out and saving People and Pokémon, still battling, capturing Pokémon, and filling up his Dex. Being a Pokémon Ranger would allow Hop to go out and journey far and wide, and help People and Pokémon in a more Hop like style. I feel like him being a Ranger would have been a much better choice for his character. Pokémon Ranger Hop was a missed opportunity.

Lonely Without Friendship

Raihan x F! Reader Angst/Fluff

Growing up you were always bullied. You didn't do anything to cause the bullying. It's just that kids are mean. You didn't have any friends because of this, so your parents ended up giving you a Glaceon and a Leafeon to help and protect you. They were your only friends throughout all of your school years. That was until you moved to Galar to continue studying.

So far your only friends were Hop, Milo, Marnie, Gloria (Fairy Gym Leader), Nessa, Melony, Sonia, and Bea. Your two Eeveelutions didn't like men all that much since boys were the main bullies from your younger years. Hop and Milo were the exceptions since Leafeon and Glaceon could tell that they had good intentions and wouldn't hurt you in any way. There were some people in Galar who would bully you and they would either wake up to a yard full of leaves or a yard full of ice that was covered in snow.

Raihan wanted to befriend you, but your two friends wouldn't allow it to happen. You would always have to put them into their Great Balls in order to talk to him. You couldn't blame them because Raihan is an intimidating-looking man. Towering over you and his fangs were a little scary at first. Leafeon would give him cuts by using razor leaf and Glaceon would purposely make the surrounding area cold by using snowy terrain.

It has been two years since you came to Galar and your two partners have eased up a little bit. They now like Kabu, Leon, Bede, Gordie, and Piers. Raihan was close to giving up on becoming friends with you entirely because he still isn't liked or even remotely close to being liked. That was until he was sitting with you on your bed while you were crying. You were crying because your boyfriend of three years broke up with you over text. Leafeon and Glaceon were laying their heads on your lap trying to comfort you. You were leaning your head against Raihans chest in a way that he couldn't see your tear-stained face.

"Y/N, I am going, to be honest with you and you may not like what I am about to say."

You sniffle and hiccup before responding

"What is it, Rai?"

"Your boyfriend was a complete jerk. He didn't deserve you."

You remove your head from his chest and look up at him.

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that you deserve someone who will treat you like you are the queen of the world."

You giggle a little bit before sniffing again

"I am no queen, Raihan. You know that."

He gently takes your hands in one of his and puts his other hand on your cheek.

"You are a queen, Y/N. You may not see it. But you are a queen to your Leafeon and Glaceon."

The two Pokémon nuzzle against you making happy purring noises agreeing with Raihan.

"And if I am being honest. You are my queen. I would do anything to see you smile. I will embarrass myself in order to make you laugh."

After telling you that he kisses the top of your head and you smile.

"Thank you, Raihan. I appreciate that. I really do."

"You are very welcome. Now, why don't you lay down with Leafeon and Glaceon and take a nap because I bet you feel tired after letting out all those emotions."

You nod and lay down. Glaceon and Leafeon lay down by your feet. Raihan gets off the bed and heads towards the door until you grab his hand.

"Could you cuddle with me, Raihan? Please?"

He looks at you and then at the two Pokémon for their responses. They nod their heads, yes and he lays down next to you putting your head on his chest. You and Raihan smile knowing that Leafeon and Glaceon finally accept that he would never hurt you. Ever.

Synopsis: Being a pokemon contest idol wasn't easy, it's even harder when you've been an idol since your childhood. Being raised in the Hoenn region and being forced to travel around to participate in contests made it impossible to make any friends since you never stayed anywhere long enough, this all changed in the Kalos region. After making a name there and finally separating your name away from your overbearing parent you decided to move to the Galar region looking for a different life but of course rumors follow and the internet is cruel 

Chapter 1: Gossip is old news

My morning photoshoot went well, luckily leaving me with extra time to enjoy the Hano Grand Resort till my final photoshoot of the night. Hopefully I'll have some left over time to enjoy the Alola region for the few days left in this beautiful island, maybe even catch some new pokemon. After saying my goodbyes to the other models and crew, a girl grabs my attention by calling out my name, “Well if it isn't my favorite pretty girl” I turn to see none other than the gorgeous Galar model Nessa. “Nessa, it's been ages! Are we set for a photoshoot tonight?” 

After catching up with the famed model and finished our last photoshoot for the night we agreed to get dinner and catch up more in the restaurant of the Hano Grand Resort. “I’ve decided to move to the Galar region actually, im looking for a change and hopefully a better life, the Kalos region is nice but is just a never ending life of fashion, and of course as you know my mother still lives there and I’d much rather be as far away from that woman as possible.” I explain to Nessa who is as excited as a yamper upon hearing the news of me moving to her home region. “Have you already found a place?” I nod showing her the location and pictures revealing a cute and comfy cottage on the outskirts of Wedgehurst. “Ah that's not so far from Sonias, I’ll introduce you two when you move. maybe I can even set you up with someone when you move.” Nessa laughs as she makes this joke knowing I don’t focus on relationships, always thinking about my pokemon or work.

 After a few drinks and laughter later we decided to call it a night but just to my luck Nessa was never the best at holding her alcohol, leading the drunken girl to her room which luckily was just down the hall from me since the modeling agency had booked them for us all in advance. As I walk up to her door and drag the card from her handbag and help her change out of her dress and heels and place her on her side and put a glass of water and ibuprofen on the bedside table, “You know Y/N I feel like you’d like my cousin he’s a nice guy” Nessa slurs out right before passing out I giggle at the girls interesting commentary and turn the lights off and head to my room. As I walk out of the room and down the hall I run into a tall man wearing a dress shirt “I’m sorry miss im in a bit of a rush” and leaves before I could even apologize, I watch the man walk away. I turn my head to the sound of several camera snaps, dismissing the sound knowing this resort is filled with models for this event and paparazzi is inevitable whether I like it or not. 

Waking up early was a given sinceI had more shoots in the afternoon and an interview at 10 AM but at the time my phone was blasting I can’t help but think it’s much too early, ignoring the constant buzzing was almost impossible. I grab my phone to see my PokeGram being tagged in a post from the Galar Gossip gram, at first I think they must have been posting about Nessa and I drinking together last night but then I see the picture and see the man I ran into last night. The caption saying the Dragon Gym leader Raihan and I are dating, the post even calls itself out stating that the two of us have never interacted. After quickly finishing getting ready for my interview that was still two hours away, I make my way over to Nessa’s room to try and get an understanding why I’d be suddenly paired with her colleague.  

As I go to knock on Nessa’s room, the door suddenly opens to reveal the very man I'm rumored to date. Before I can process what's happening the male looks around and drags me into the room where I see a very amused Nessa watching the scene in front of her, “I was just about to call you, I need to introduce you to as you've probably heard of your rumored boyfriend and my cousin, Raihan.” Nessa immediately starts laughing at my dumbstruck face, I hear the male besides me sigh as he scratches the back of his neck. “Y/N right? Nessa told me a bit about you sorry about this whole mess, I should have found it a bit suspicious when I received an anonymous text about Nessa being black out drunk in the hall. Thanks for getting her back here last night.” he reaches out to shake my hand. “It wasn’t a problem, definitely wouldn’t be the first time, though knowing that someone planned this makes me curious what would a gossip blog get out of starting such a rumor. I mean most people by now know that while short my love life has always been transparent.” I state as I go to sit down next to nessa. “Exactly why choose Y/N out of all models she's basically untouchable, everyone knows creating false rumors about her will lead you to get blacklisted from any big social events.” As the conversation continues my alarm informs me that I have 30 minutes before my interview. “Sorry Nessa I’ve got my last interview in 30 and my last photoshoot after and I still have to get Gara ready, I can probably set the story straight about this whole rumor situation.”  At the mention of Gara’s name my Garchomp comes out of its pokeball curious and noisy as always, I see Raihan immediately intrigued and pull out a pokepuff and hand it to the ever food motivated Gara. “A dragon type? I never would have taken you for a dragon type of girl” Raihan says showing full interest in me. After saying goodbye to the two I head to my interview on the way to the location provided in Konikoni city, I see a woman with purple hair holding what looks to be a shiny alolan Vulpix and a young blonde haired boy. The woman immediately notices my presence and calls out to me, “Excuse me miss i'm sorry to bother you but would you happen to have anything to heal this pokemon she’s in critical condition and we can’t bring her to the poke center out of fear that moving her will cause more damage.” I immediately pull anything that can help the small pokemon out, the woman introduces herself as Wicke and she voluntarily introduces the young boy as Gladion. Once the vulpix starts to wake she curls into my lap, the sight saddens me thinking of the ninetails I used to do competitions with that my mother retired stating that she was “getting aggressive” which was a total lie the ninetails only ever defended me from her abuse. “I think she likes you, she’d definitely be safer with you than anywhere else.” Wicke said, handing me a premier ball to catch the small fox-like creature, before I could ask the Vulpix if it wanted to come with the pokemon nudged its head clicking against the ball to catch itself. The two said their goodbyes and left as I rushed off to go to my interview now with a new friend in my team.

“Now Miss.Y/N on your social media you posted that you’d be taking a break from modeling and pokemon contests?” The interview processed exactly as I thought it would, I sat across the interviewer with a very comfortable Lila on my lap. “Yes, after this trip I’ll be moving to the Galar region and working on myself for some time, of course I’ll get back into the modeling scene in Galar after some time to adjust.” At the mention of the Galar I see the reporter sit up in interest. “So does this move to Galar have anything to do with Galar Gossips' post about you and Gym leader Raihan allegedly dating?” Even if I expected this question, it still shocks me to hear it out loud. “Sadly I’ve only met Raihan recently though I believe he is a fine gentleman. We don't know each other, other than our mutual connection with Nessa. Maybe if fans really want it we could do some collabs but other than that Raihan and I have no history. The picture of us that the Gossip post posted was simply a picture of Raihan in a rush and accidentally running into me” After finishing the interview up and heading to my final shoot, immediately after I get on a plane heading to my new home in the Galar region.

MOVIES I WATCHED THIS WEEK (#189):

Starting with some re-visits ♻️: That Obscure Object of Desire was Luis Buñuel last erotic film. Old businessman Fernando Rey falls in love and becomes mortally infatuated with a young flamenco dancer, who leads him astray. It's a story of uncontrollable obsession, and a dysfunctional power struggle between them. On the one hand, it's a straight-forward tale of murky motivations, told in a masterful, fluid style. On the other, there are little nuggets of dissonant surrealism: There's some old man carrying a burlap sack, going in and out of scenes without explanations. Or, Conchita, the elusive tease, is played interchangeably by two different actresses, Etc.

RIP, Gena Rowlands X 2 - (Incredible photo Above).

🍿 "You, banana, you..."

A Woman Under the Influence, hers and husband Guy Woodhouse's most acclaimed work together. A painful tour into the mind of a lonely housewife whose behavior is just a bit eccentric, and who maybe suffers from a bi-polar disorder. Peter Falk, her simple construction worker husband, loves her, but lacks the skills to deal with her, and her existential anguish eventually turns into a nervous breakdown. The general understanding of mental health in 1975 wasn't kind to 'differently-behaved' women, so no wonder she was misdiagnosed, committed and underwent electroshock therapy. A powerful performance that was hard to watch.

🍿 After this early clip of the taxi shoot-out, I also had to see Gloria. One of John Cassavetes' more commercial attempts, it was a strange neo-Noir bland of 'Running from the mob' action thriller, and Gena Rowlands as a bad-ass ex-girlfriend of Tanzinni the mafioso. The backstage of Late-70's NYC is fascinating to observe.

2 Bizarre Buck Henry-related shorts:

🍿 Buck Henry had an amazing career. In 'Gloria', he's playing the mob accountant whose killing jump starts the plot. I only discovered Kiss Kiss Fingerbang (2015) because it was the 85-year old Buck Henry's very last (cameo) role, and I only watched it because of the unusually-provocative name. But this erotic story about a girlfriend who likes it 'that way', was just plain stupid. [*Female Director*]

🍿 I miss Sonia Henie was a strange 'Yugoslav New Wave' diversion from 1971. Eight directors, including Dušan Makavejev, Frederick Wiseman (!), Paul Morrissey, Miloš Forman and Buck Henry were each tasked with coming up overnight with short avant-garde segments. Each was to be less than three minutes of film footage inside a bedroom with static shots that contains the phrase 'I Miss Sonja Henie'. The results were, as expected, experimentally-weird. The best part actually was the ending clip of the fabulous Norwegian ice skater dancing to the tune of 'The Blue Danube'. Still it was worth watching. (This is my second film by Slovenian Carpo Godina).

Close - The sad story of two 13 year old boys who love each other, but break up their friendship when their new classmates call them a "couple". Incredibly sensitive acting by the two boys. A subtle story, where nobody's able to express themselves in words, and in spite of the obvious affection that everybody has, nobody tells anybody 'I love you'. There are two themes that repeat: The flower fields, and the long bike rides home. And the breaking point, when one of the boys learns that tragedy struck, is at 44:00 min. in - exactly one hour before the end of the movie. 10/10. Re-watch ♻️.

I've watched Hot Fuzz a dozen times or more in the last few years, but it's never enough. Everything I felt and wrote about it before is still 100% accurate. So now I notice new, tiny details. F. ex. how cute is "Tina", the Supermarché announcer - "Mr. Skinner to the manager's office. Mr. Skinner to the manager's office." But really, every single actor here is absolutely perfect. The bloopers. I can't wait for Edgar Wright's 2 new films. 10/10. Another re-watch ♻️.

🍿 In Innocence (2019) Alice Lowe stars as a policewoman investigating a suspicious falling death, but except of the fact that it's a facility for patients with Downs Syndrome, and the main actor is one, it's doesn't stand out.

🍿 Big boys is a surprising coming of age story with a different twist. A shy, overweight 14-year-old boy, who's both ordinary and self-conscious, falls for his cousin's older boyfriend, while on a camping trip in Lake Arrowhead. It's told in a careful, hesitant, nearly European tone. Awkward and heart-felt, sweet and wholesome. 💯 score on Rotten Tomatoes. 8/10.

🍿 I could only watch Àma Gloria in the original French-Portuguese without subtitles, so I missed some of its subtext. Still it was powerfully sad and deeply moving. A 6-year-old girl, who lost her mother to cancer, is being taken care of by her Creole nanny. The nanny must return to her native Cape Verde, and the girl is allowed to come and visit her. The little girl who plays the part is truly incredible in the role. The trailer. 9/10.

It's another of the sub-genre of 'Domestic Workers' ('Roma', 'The second mother', 'The maid', 'Oli Ilo', 'Lina from Lima', 'The chambermaid', so many others.) [*Female Director*]

Ali Abbasi was born in Iran, and moved to Denmark about 15 years ago.

Holy spider is his grim police procedural based on a true story of an Iranian serial killer. It's like Fincher's 'Zodiac', except that the location is the dirty, primitive and oppressive "Holy city" of Mashhad. The killer is a family man but also a fanatical religious nut, who takes on a mission to cleanse his city of poor, drug-addicted prostitutes. The murders are chillingly ugly, but the rest of the story is captivating. 8/10.

While waiting for his anticipated Trump biography 'The Apprentice', I am going to watch the 2 other features he directed, 'Shelley' and 'Border'.

Let's Go with Pancho Villa (1936) was long considered to be one of the 'greatest Mexican films of all times'. It's a different anti-authoritarian and epic view of the 1910 Revolution. But it didn't speak to me. ¡VIVA MÉXICO!

Shoes (1916), my 2nd by silent pioneer Lois Weber (after ‘Suspense’). A poor young working girl, struggling to support her family on her meager salary, desperately needs a new pair of shoes, as her only pair literally fall apart. In desperation she 'sells her body', just to survive. A strong feminist message in a sad, realist settings. It was added to the 'National Firm Registry'. [*Female Director*]

🍿 "The men are coming! Cover up, everyone! Cover up!" My first film from Saudi Arabian, The Wedding Singer’s Daughter (2018) by Haifaa Al-Mansour, one of the first female filmmakers from over there. Set in 1980, separated from the men, a group of female guests prepare the music and dance for a fancy wedding. Lovely.

🍿 Brigitte (2019), the only Lynne Ramsay film I haven't seen before. It's not the best of the bunch, but still fabulously artistic. A documentary portrait of portrait photographer Brigitte Lacombe in her rustic, cavernous photo studio.

🍿 Le Donne della Vucciria (2013), by my favorite Palestinian actress Hiam Abbass ("Marcia Roy"), and featuring my favorite Lebanese actress Lubna Azabal. An impressionistic Mediterranean mood piece about a dressmaker and a puppet-master, a group of singers down at the Piazza, a Vespa ride by the promenade when the morning comes. 8/10.

🍿 Shangri-La, a poetic confession of forbidden love between a Filipina woman and her white farmhand lover, (who's disguised as a catholic priest). Set up during the Depression, when such relationships were illegal. So-so. [*4 Female Directors*]

Timor's show (2016) is an interesting Israeli documentary. Timor is a 37-year-old naive emigrant from Russia, who works as a lowly dishwasher. In Baku he studied music at the academy, and he has a lovely baritone voice. But then he decides to put up a recital in a real concert hall, where for the first time in his life, he will sing in front of an audience some of his favorite arias. [*Female Director*]

2 horrible stinkers:

🍿 "Good luck, shithead"... First watch: Stupid B-monster survivor film Tremors (1990). I did finish it, but with difficulties. Why was it so awful, when all it wanted was to copy Jaws-5 but with Sand Worms instead? 1/10.

🍿 "Who wants some head?"

I can't believe that by now I've seen two movies with John Cena (The first one was 'Barbie'). What is wrong with me?!

But really, the only reason I watched the new "near future dystopian" Jackpot is because it was made by Paul Feig, who directed 'A simple Favor', my all-time favorite Anna Kendrick guilty pleasure. However, this one-note "action-comedy" was spectacularly dreadful. I hated myself for watching it. 1/10.

And now I read that 'Favor 2' is already filmed, and everybody of the original cast, including 'Darren' to 'Detective Summerville' are repeating their roles, and that fills me with dread. I hate sequels!

4 short westerns by Michael Brian Rawlins:

🍿 Michael Brian Rawlins specializes in writing, directing and starring in light Western shorts (?). His The Dentist (2020) is the better one. Here he plays a traveling broke dentist being held up by a highway robber with an infected tooth. A perfect meeting.

🍿 The Deputy (2017) is more of a one big action scene, told in modern style.

🍿 In Two outlaws, a marshal forces two outlaws to play Russian Roulette against each other. It ends when they are both hanged by their neck, while Lakmé 'Flower Duet' is playing in the background.

🍿 Rivals too is in a similar vain, a romanticized vision of kids playing 'cowboys'. The whole thing is like a clean Disneyfied tourist version of what a modern western should be.

None of these though is as good as The Gunslinger!

🍿 Dizzy Dishes (1930), the very first cartoon with an appearance by Betty Boop. Primitive line drawings, still trying to figure out that new media.

🍿 Any Rags (1932) about a garbage man, collecting anything he can, then selling it.

🍿 Hold it (1938) is one of the Fleischer Studio's 'Color Classics' early use of Technicolor in animation. A bunch of cats against one sleeping dog.

🍿 Viewfinder (2023), an excellent impression of precise memory packs of what it meant to be a teenager in the 90's.

🍿 In Eli (2020), a boy is being interrogated at the City of Providence Psychiatric Hospital as to why he's there. The answer has to do with magical raccoons, meteor craters, government secret facilities, music and the evolution of all matter. 8/10.

🍿 Tank (2012), a simply-drawn story of a boy who finds a giant salamander. One of his 9 Vimeo Staff Awards film winners.

AN INTRODUCTION TO MY PAGE!

Hi, my name is AJ, but you can call me whatever you feel like! I’m 19, and I’m trying to garner enough writing experience to maybe some day open up commissions. This blog is centered around Pokémon, so if you want to see something, leave an ask!

ASKS are always open, for any requests! It could be headcanons, a oneshot or maybe something a bit longer.

I specialize in writing ficlets on the fluffier side of the spectrum, but sometimes I will take up angst. Smut is out of the question, because I’m uncomfortable with writing that kind of content.

I have some boundaries I would like to set for my ASKS/REQUESTS. You can request the following without incident: CHAR x CHAR, CHAR x READER, CHAR and CHAR, CHAR and READER.

So... I remembered my scrapped Galar fic story.

Just to let you know, please do not expect anything to come of this, this is just an incomplete framework for a scrapped story. And nothing more.

a variation of these events occurred in the pasio fic, which release has been delayed, but will be here shortly, I promise.

things of note: the twist initially was going to be that Rose was Ash's dad, which I changed because Peony is more fun. Also, the story was going to reveal that 2 years had passed since Ash left pallet town, hence all the hints towards it, and Ash just forgets his birthdays.

What if Ash got a genuine Galar journey, without ‘hey remember this?’

Galar, and like in every pokemon anime timeframe is non-specific (for now heh heh heh)

Main characters

Ash - 10(?) years old, similar to how ash is in the X & Y anime, not immature but still young, has lots of experience (Spoilers: About 2 years worth), and is willing to pass it on to others.

Gloria - 12 years old, forced by her overbearing mother to wait a couple of years before she can start her journey, so naturally, she's very passionate about the sport, starts out iris/misty-like before character evolution hits and becomes the in-between of Serena/dawn and iris/misty character types

Hop Dande - 10 years old, young, and very similar to Ash when he started, but even more headstrong if you would believe it, he let being the champion’s little bro go to his head and thus thought he was champion material himself. Leaves at some point to truly learn how to battle and makes his return during the Galar conference.

Allister Nion - replaces Hop after he leaves, his arc is just to build confidence in himself.

Secondary characters

Marnie Nezu - ash’s rival (14) is pretty much the same in-game, the only difference is she and Gloria were once friends. 

Bede - Gary but worse, belittles Ash any chance he gets 

Leon Dande - is less stupid than his in-game counterpart, and is quite similar to Ash. 

Sonia Magnolia - introduces him to Gloria and hop

Prof. Magnolia - a wise old lady that gives our heroes their starters.

Rose Patak - is near 1 to 1 but seems like he’s hiding something. 

Oleanna Olive - fakes being motherly but is very very rude and angry underneath

Team Yell - is just a bunch of street punks that interfere with anyone they perceive as a threat to Marnie.

Gym leaders

Milo Yarrow - the stereotypical kind farmer’s boy 

Nessa Ruina - ash’s cool big sis in a metaphorical sense

Kabu Hibana - gives ash a mentorship program (tony stark peter parker-esque)

Bea Saito - antisocial but very kind also being mentored by Kabu (might become ash’s companion during the isle of armor)

Opal Poplar - kind old lady who mentors bede (being his reminder to be kind)

Melony Makuwa - kind and motherly off-field, an ice-cold battler on the field.

Gordie Makuwa - overconfident almost to a fault and really rude sometimes.

Piers Nezu - snarky but somewhat kind, and very protective over Marnie, but still her brother.

Raihan Kibana - I can't put his personality into words but he live-streams his fights.

Ash lands in Galar and is introduced to Sonia and Leon

Sonia then takes ash to Professor Magnolia to get his starter and he meets Gloria and Hop

Leon then takes him to Motostoke to announce the start of Galar’s gym challenge

Our heroes go to budew inn and meet Marnie.

Battle against some team yell grunts.

Our heroes than just hang out and bond

Milo gym fight: ash wins, Gloria wins, and hop needs a rematch.

After hop’s rematch milo teaches ash how to cook curry.

Gloria and Ash get into an argument over methods of travel.

Team Rocket gets the focus in this chapter James catches a galarian Weezing and Jessie catches a sandaconda 

Hulbury but Nessa’s gym is closed.  

As it turns out Nessa's prized Drednaw is very, very sick. Which ash cures with some herbs.

Nessa Gym Battle: Ash wins, Hop wins, Gloria rematch.

Gloria catches a Yamper.

Gloria's rematch.

Our heroes then go to motostoke

Before any of them fight Kabu the first team rocket clash happens

It's a near standstill, but team rocket blasts off due to Gloria’s Yamper and Ash’s Pikachu.

Kabu introduces himself to Ash and the two have a “Queens. Brooklyn.” moment 

Grooky evolves into Thwackey during Kabu’s fight. 

And ash loses but he’s not upset given both Thwackey has evolved and that Kabu is really respectful to him.

Ash goes and trains with Kabu and the two bond a lot.

Ash accidentally calls him dad and kabu is kinda flattered.

Rematch! 

And a great surprise occurs Pikachu can Gigantamax!

Everyone looks on in aww.

Ash wins and Kabu gives him the most dad-esque interaction ever.

“That was some real fighting, ash, great job!”

Love Doesn't Do Encores Ch35 Going Home

(When this story is over, how many people would be interested in seeing a Melli x Reader story? Also if anyone is interested would anyone be interested in seeing Piers defend reader? If so how?)

"Piers?"

Standing before you in the Slumbering Weald was in fact, Piers. The guy looked as bored as usual..But what was he doing here?! Next to him was in fact also those two bloody thieves. And next to them, was Leon. Wait...What were ANY of them doing here was the better question but before any of you could say anything Sordward spoke.

"Well, well, well. Now that certainly was a refreshing back and forth, Eh wot?," he asked hands returning to his sides.

"That really touched my heart," his brother added.

"Huh? Sordward and Shielbert?," Sonia asked clearly dumb struck and not sure how to react as you other three either stood there or looked at one another not sure what to say. Her eyes trailing the men that stood before her. "With Piers? And even Lee?" She shook her head not quite believing what she was seeing. "What are you lot doing here?!"

"No need for noisemakery, Young Lady," Sordward scolded her by lifting a finger and wagging it at her (now) scowling face. "We have come to meet with the young party."

"They didn't get the chance to properly apologize yet," Piers explained and you gawked at him as it still confused before he sighed again. "As a part o' their punishment, they're being forced to properly apologize to everyone they wronged in person. We're only half way done. Jus' figured we'd stop by 'ere and get all you lot out o' the way. Magnolia sure gave 'em an earful."

"And I'm here to keep an eye on them," Leon confirmed crossing his arms and giving the two brothers a look. "They did technically descend from the original kings, but that doesn't give them any excuses for what they did." The two nervously fidgeted under the Champion's gaze before he looked back to Hop with that bright smile. "But it seems you lot have been up to all sorts of things while I was stuck in Rose Tower trying to help take care of what Mr. Rose left behind." ..he reached behind his head and rubbed his neck. "And something that's going to be revealed next year. It's still a work in progress."

"You've no idea!," Hop frowned pointing an accusing hand at the brothers. "Those two were forcing pokemon to dynamax all OVER the place!"

"AND!", Shielbert raised a hand cutting Hop off as he glared at the two of them. "For that we are really, truly sorry. Look at our sorriness." He pleased holding a hand to his chest dramatically. "We thought only of ourselves and brought harm to innocent pokemon. We have truly caused a large amount of trouble. You helped us even though we did those awful things. You are so worthy of the throne, you could say it's a dynamax sized amount of worthiness!"

You just...stared. Beside you the guys gave each other a look and you heard and saw Piers give an eye roll and groan.  These guys were sure uh....dramatic with their words. But you guessed getting a dramatic apology was better than none..Maybe?

Sonia sighed and literally facepalmed. "I already told you two. Zacian and Zamazenta are the real royalty."

"Incorrect!," Sordward objected, "We have abdicated the title to them! There are no other rulers!"

Sonia only groaned more into the palm rubbing her temples. Honestly if you weren't so confused and surprised still that probably would've been your reaction too-...Hang on a minute. You gave the two a suspicious look. How'd they get here in the first place?

"Hey. That reminds me." You successfully gained all the attention. So you pointed at the two brothers. "How the heck did you two know where the grave was in the first place?" Everything fell silent and the brothers' eyes went wide before they both looked at one another in surprise. It was like no one else ever thought of that before. "Hop and Gloria was lead here by Zacian and Zamazenta, Sonia found it by accident because she's allowed to be in here, and this is the first time Victor or I have ever been here. And I'm guessing you two also lead the way for them too since Piers wouldn't even know about this place, and Leon gets more lost than a blind magikarp in the desert. No offense, Lee."

"None taken," Leon replied.

You crossed your arms staring at the surprised brothers raising a brow. "You two don't give off the vibe of adventures so I doubt you two found it by accident, and Sonia didn't put the location in her book so you couldn't have figured it out from that either." You said knocking out any other possibilities. "So how did you two even know where to look to find this place?"

"Yeah." Hop frowned deeper at them crossing his arms. "How DID you manage to find this place? Are you like some super evil geniuses or something?"

Again both brothers looked at one another again before Shielbert spoke, "Should we tell them, Older Brother?"

Sordward hummed, face gaining a thoughtful expression, before he nodded with a sigh. "We might as well. After all this question was bound to be asked of us sooner or later. We'd be in more trouble if we didn't supply an answer to the question."

Shielbert nodded and you all watched as he reached his hands up. One grabbing his red suit jacket and pulling it open to reach his other hand into the jacket and after a moment, pulling out what looked like a small ...book? When Shielbert held it up it was indeed a book, but a very old one. The brown leather cover looked a little wrinkled and hand a tear or two from so many years of being handled and the paper looked yellowed from age, and it looked no bigger than just a small novel from the bookstore. All of you stared at it for a second before again Hop asked. 

"A book?"

"Not just any book, Young Man!," he scoffed sounded just a bit offended Hop would refer to the book as what it was..A book. "It's a precious family heirloom! One that's been passed down in our family for generations!"

"Also conveniently for us, found tucked away in our attic in a large chest during spring cleaning."

"...Ok. But like WHAT is it specifically?"

Sordward sighed reaching a hand up to rub his forehead. "Oh I guess we have to be specific for the likes of others." A few people looked annoyed at his comment but he replied bluntly before anyone could say anything. "It's a journal written by the first King of Galar of course!"

"Our very own great, great, great, great, great...another dozen or so greats grandfather himself! Passed down by his descendants for generations until it somehow became lost and ended up in the attic locked away for safe keeping."

"That is until we just happened to find it clearing out everything to turn the attic into a luxury suite. Who knew we would uncover such a lucky find?"

"Yes," Shielbert agreed, "It has everything from the location of the hero's last resting place to Zacian and Zamazenta's appearance to the names and family tree of our kingly ancestors entire family line."

"Stopping at our dear Great Great Grandmother Swordenia. After her passing, all of her old belongings were just stuffed away in the old family mansion. We believe the journal was lost during that movement and forgotten somewhere between her and grandmother, but we'll be happy to fill in the rest of the blanks in our noble family tree later."

There was silence as everyone just stared at them wide eyed. Because...well what were you supposed to say to something like that? You all just continued to stare at the book being held. Sonia especially seemed to be staring at it in interest and newfound excitement. But this time it was Victor's turn to comment something.

"But I thought there was two kings," he said..before shaking his head. "No. Scratch that. There was definitely two kings  accordin' ta the ancient tapestries an' the statues hidden behind the mural n' Stow-o'-Side."

"Ah! You would be correct about that," Sheilbert confirmed before wagging the book in his hand, "The two original heroes did go on to be crowned the first kings due to their bravery but only one went on to marry and continue the royal lineage. According to the journal his other royal highness resigned himself to a small town to hide and guard the sword and shield of the ancient pokemon."

"How do we know that's the truth?"

As if to answer them one of the brother's pointed to the singular grave stone popping up from the ancient structure. "One stone for one person. The answer to your question is literally feet in front of you. And of course, it's literally written in here. The two were great friends after all."

"Can I-.." Both the brothers paused when Sonia, mesmerized held her hands out towards the book half way. "C-Can I look at it?"

There was silence again as the brother rose a brow towards one another as if telepathically talking to one another before they looked back to her. "...You want to just look?" She excitedly nodded making them hum. "Wweeell....I guess you may. It would be the least we can do after stealing your research material. But I'll have you know this is a precious family heirloom! If there's so much as a tear on it from you be prepared to be sued for damages!"

"That's a risk I'm willing to take!" She excitedly held her hands up to take the book, and there was a silence. The brothers looked at each other for a long silent moment before Shielbert slowly held out the book towards Sonia's eager hands. You watched as she took it excited glee washing over her face as she immediately opened it. And flicked a few pages over eyes sparkling more with each passing page she flipped. "This...T-This is incredible!" She announced stopping flipping through a few pages. "A written document by such an important historical figure....I so want to investigate this further!"

"Hey, hey!," Sordward pointed, "Historical document or not it's still our property! You can't just take it."

....She gave them a flat look. "Says the ones who stole from us?"

"...Erm. W-Well *ahem* From a logical point, Ma'am. You can't examine someone's property without their permission. It's something, whether you believe us or not, is near and dear to our family. Just as your lab is important to you. You wouldn't let someone just come into your lab and just tamper with your research would you?"

"Again. You guys DID tamper with my research when you stole those Wishing Stars." ..She took a moment looking between the book and them. "But I would still like to examine this. Would you two be up for a compromise?"

"Hhhmmmm...Well I suppose we may be able to work something out. But we want it in writing!"

"...You mean like in literal writing?"

"Yes," both answered her.

Sonia blinked before sighing and shaking her head. "Fine. We can go to my lab and write an agreement up real quick."

"Yeah." Leon cleared his throat before motioning to Piers who through all of this remained silent. "Hey, Piers. Why don't you go ahead with Sonia and escort them to the lab? I'll catch up with you later after I take care of the other reason we came here."

Piers sighed but nodded. "Sure. I can do that real quick." Before he paused, taking a chance to side glance at you. "...But I hope I get a chance to speak too 'fore we leave."

"Of course you will. If we divide and conquer it'll make things much faster."

Piers nodded again before he turned to you and you blinked when he asked a request of you. "Y/n. Walk with me."

The way he said it didn't sound like a question, but you assumed he was requesting you'd walk with him so nodding you started forward towards him. What ended up happening was the two brothers and Sonia walked in front of you two as Sonia bombarded them about the journal in her hands and the two were more than happy to (brag-) answer her questions. And you two followed behind. You had to pick up your pace to keep up with Piers's long strides as he followed but you managed to catch up with him with Silver chirping and easily keeping up behind you. Starting to walk, you took one last chance to look behind you at Leon who looked to be taking a chance to speak to Hop and Victor for a moment. He must want to talk to them about what happened you supposed. With a raised brow you turned your head back to Piers who seemed to have been patiently waiting for you to notice him because he paid attention to you as soon as you looked at him.

"What are you doing here?," was the first thing out of your mouth. Which made him sigh and gesture to the three in front of you.

"Just as I got back ta Spikemuth, I gotta call from the new Chairman,'' he explained with a long sigh, "Since I was one of the ones ta stop the bloody punks, she wanted me ta tag along with Leo an' make sure they didn' get up ta any trouble while he made them carry out the first part o' their punishment."

"No offense but making them personally apologize is a pretty small punishment compared to what they tried to do."

"That's what I thought. But then I learnt what else that woman's makin' 'em do." he huffed a chuckle. "They're bein' made to personally fund Sonia's research here on out as well as payin' damages for the roof in Hammerlocke to be fixed."

"....That's it? Just apologizing and paying for damages?''

"There's more." He smiled just a bit wider. "Sonia's research costs a pretty penny. Worth it but the Chairwoman doesn't really have the resources ta give her what she needed ta fund the entire thing properly after fixin' Rose's escapades." He chuckled a bit more much to your confusion. "They're going to have to hand over some o' their own company ta pay for it. Turns out those blokes own a whole lotta businesses in Wyndon an' a couple other places. Ya should've seen the looks on their faces when the Chairwoman said she was gonna turn their own beach house in Hulbury inta a loading deck for freighters.'' His hand came up to cover his mouth. "And their mall in Wyndon into an affordable c-community college."

You blinked. "Really?" He nodded and you smiled. "Wow. I haven't met this woman and I already like her."

"I-It gets better." He smirked back at you. "They're also paying for the reconstructions for the places out of their own pockets."

"Ok. Now I REALLY like this Chairwoman. How come I've never met her before when I saw Rose?"

He shook his head. "While Rose was busy with his 'rescue mission' he kept her on the back burner by givin' 'er mountains of paperwork and petty work no one else had to do but had ta be done. Poor woman was worked ta the bone. " He shook his head again with a grunt. "Then havin' to play clean up after Rose n' Oleana. No wonder she had to call Leo to help her. Everything was a right bloody mess topped with dirt. But this works out for her since it fixes a few of the minor problems while she tackles the big ones."

"Poor woman. No wonder you agreed to help. How many people do you have left to make them apologize to?"

"Jus' one other," he assured you. "Thankfully. You all were the second ta last stop then it's off ta see Rai rai an' then it's back to the Chairwoman for her to decide if anything else is gonna be added to their long punishment list."

"Maybe you should tell her to tell them to let Sonia keep that book for as long as she needs for her research."

"Ooh. I knew there was a reason we get along so well." He smiled and then his eyes lit up as a thought hit him. "Oh. I also wanted to mention." His hand came up to grab his choker as he spoke. "I spoke ta my friend who's rentin' out an' put in a good word for ya. She's says you'll have to pay a hundred fifty a month and work extra to give her seven hundred for the security deposit as soon as possible. You'll also be havin' a room mate but she said they're pretty nice. Hope you're alright with that."

"Are you kidding me!?" You smiled wide. "That's great!" A hundred fifty? That's what you were paying Mrs. L to begin with while staying with her so that's good it won't change. And seven hundred for a deposit? You could work that off and save extra money to give it to the land lady...Only- "But...I don't have a job yet. I don't know how I'm going to pay for it if I don't have one."

"I know a couple places in Spikemuth that's still hirin'," he assured you with a small smile. "There's still a lotta o' people not back yet or not comin' back so a bunch o' the local businesses are short staffed and 'n need of people. I can show ya a few places and help get you settled."

"Really!? Man. I don't know what'd I do without your help. Piers, you're a life saver. I'll still have to talk to my old land lady though and let her know I'll be moving there once I'm ready. ...Oh. That reminds me. I have no way of contacting you when I'm coming."

He fumbled with his choker more as he cleared his throat. Suddenly finding the now visibly sky interesting. Oh. You just noticed it too. You both were nearing the gate and almost out of the Slumbering Weald. "'S no big deal. Jus' call it even for helpin' me keep Marnie safe from those two...An' when you're ready-" he turned to you. "-head ta Hammerlocke."

You blinked. "Hammerlocke? But that's not Spikemuth."

"Yeah. But I can pick you up from there," he explained, "Before you leave just tell Sunny ta ring me up n' tell me. She has my digits."

You smiled wider and gave him a small playful nudge on his shoulder. "You're a big help. You know that?"

His cheekbones flushed just a light shade of pink and he cleared his throat again. "I-I've noticed. Boy Nessy is neva gonna let me hear the end o' it."

"Nessy?..." You rose a brow at him. "You mean Nessa?"

He nodded not looking at you. "Y-Yeah. Hitched a ride with us from Hulbury. Wants ta talk with your mate back there? Speakin' of which." You watched confused as Piers reached into his small jacket and pulled out two small league cards before holding them out to you. "'Ere. I know he's been collecting 'em so as a thanks for the hero Marn-Marn n' I wanted to give him some rare cards for his collection."

You slowly took them from him before nodding. "I'll make sure Victor gets these. ..Oh. By the way, how did the talk with Marnie go? Did you have the chance to talk to her about everything?"

Surprisingly he nodded with a smile. "Y-Yeah actually. ..Turns out, she actually wants to be a gym leader. But we agreed to slow down her training and ease her into it for a while. Just because she's able to run it herself and did a good job takin' care o' it while I'm gone, doesn't mean she's ready to just be shoveled the responsibility yet."

"So you're going to continue to be the Gym Leader for just a little longer huh?"

Again he nodded. "Yeah. But not for long. M' plannin' to officially retire in a year or two. Should be long enough ta let Marnie get ready for the full time job."

When you all finally exited the gate separating Postwick and the Slumbering Weald, you decided to stop and wait by Mrs. G's home to wait for the others as Piers left to finish escorting Sonia and the doofus duo back to her lab. Plus you were interested now. What was Nessa doing here? In fact where was she? You certainly hadn't seen her with any of the others, and you didn't see her lingering around anywhere here now. Well you didn't have to wait long because Leon and the two guys showed up just a few minutes later. You handed Victor the cards, surprised to see he already had two others from Hop and Leon, while Leon closed and secured back the gate to the Slumbering Weald. Having a free moment, you mentioned to Leon what Piers had said about Nessa and you weren't the only two who knew she was here. Apparently Leon had explained to the two boys that Victor had a very special visitor wanting to see him waiting at his mother's house. And you had a good idea of who it was. So, you all walked right up to the house, Victor opening the door back and inviting you three in, and who else would be waiting inside to greet you all but Mrs. G who had a bright smile on her face as soon as she saw the four of you....And someone with blue highlights in her hair. Both boys stopped and stared wide eyed at the woman who sat there and calmly stared back at them, a cup of tea was placed in front of her at where she sat at the table most likely given to her by Victor's mother. Mrs. G looked please with herself at seeing everyone there. The smile only a proud mother would give. And there was already so much Mrs. G had to be proud of. Her two children saved Galar (twice), one was endorsed by the Champion himself and almost made it to the top, and on top of that both were beautiful human beings who were going on to become successful people. Gloria was officially a gym leader in training now and Victor already established a future photographer career for himself thanks to how popular his blog had gotten. But again. Why was Nessa here? And why to see Victor of all people? Well you were about to find out when Mrs. L invited you all in.

"Honey there you are!," she beamed at Victor motioning for him to come in, which he did slowly, still staring at Nessa in awe. Mrs. G also gestured towards the younger woman. "Leon told me this nice young lady is a gym leader you helped."

"Uh.." Victor finally shook his head and rested his hands in his pockets. "A-Aye. I met her once or twice. I-It's uh..N-Nice to see ye 'gain, Ms. Nessa."

Nessa nodded once. "Please. We're all friends here. Just call me Nessa."

"Um- I-...O-Ok."

She gave him a warm smile and gestured to the seat in front of her. "Please. Have a seat. There's something I'd like to discuss with you. If that's alright."

"Uh. S-Sure." He hesitated for a moment before shuffling himself slowly into a seat across from her as she smiled at him. "Um.." His cheeks lit up in embarrassment before he was able to blurt out. "I-I dunno wait ye would want with me b-but I j-just wanted to say I'm a big fan of yours! I-I mean your crew's dedication ta your shoots! They always come out amazing lookin'!"

Nessa blinked..before she busted out in a little laugh, but it wasn't a mean laugh at all. "Well, thank you. I'm happy to know I can still inspire people." She nodded. "And I can say the same for you. It's why I'm here." After staring at her for a long moment, Victor gave a small huh and she chuckled. "Leon's mentioned you to us quite a number of times."

"I...H-he has?!"

"Uh huh. He's mentioned you had a rare talent for capturing the beauty in everything. But I wasn't really sure what he meant until he showed me." Her smile turned into one of knowing. "You're the one who actually runs  the'Vic's Pics' blog on the net right?"

If it was even possible Victor's reddened even more in embarrassment and cleared his throat. Hand reaching up to rub his neck. "A-Aye. I am. S-Silly title huh?"

"I like it."

He blanked staring. "Wait..R-Really!?"

She nodded. "Mm hm. It rings a bell, and it's nice to have a name for something you worked hard on.'' She shifted in her chair to lean forward a bit a bit more serious tone to her voice. "I've seen a lot of the pictures you've taken." She nodded her head towards his neck, and it took Victor a second to realize she was gesturing to the camera dangling around his neck. "Is that the camera you used to take them with?"

She watched patiently as he blinked following her nod to his camera. "Oh! This?" He asked hands coming back to hold it. "Nah...W-Well, I me-mean yes. I had an' ol' camera that was the model before this one came out I used 'fore I started using this one since last Christmas. I actually gave away me old one."

"Really?," she asked and..Why did she look so surprised? Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at him. "That's just what you've been using? No lighting techniques or fancy digital enhancements?"

"I-...N-No?" He trailed off gaining a nervous look at the stare she gave him. "W-Was I supposed ta?"

"Hm? Oh. No, no," she assured him holding up a hand. "I'm just surprised is all. A lot of your photos look so professional. From what I've seen and what Leon said, I thought you were older with an entire editing system for these. I've seen you a few times but I never realized who you were until I saw the photos of battles from the gym challenges last year. That girl who challenged me was your sister wasn't she?"

He nodded. "Aye. Me twin." And he smiled. "She was amazin' battlin' against ye. I couldn't help takin' them photos."

"I see." There was..something about her look this time as she asked. "Victor right?" He nodded. "Do you mind if I ask you a question?" He nodded again. "Was there a reason you take these photos? It seems a bit more than just a hobby by the looks of things. I'd like to know why."

And the room again fell silent. Surprise washing over Victor's features like you've never seen him before and even he didn't seem to believe it at first. Because he looked around at everyone in the room, (you and Hop surprised as Leon and Mrs. G just smiled) before his look turned to his camera. His fingers running across it's smooth surface....before he sighed through his nose.

"...You'll think it's silly."

"Try me. You might be surprised."

There was definitely hesitation before he answered. "It's because my sister...is an amazin' person. And I jus'...w-wanted to show the world it too." He looked up and with a shaky inhale held up his camera. "An' I think everything's beautiful too." Nessa blinked surprised by his answer. "S-Sometimes it's just...People don't always notice it. Or sometimes." Brown eyes blinked down into the lense of said camera. A darkened reflection of him staring back. "Sometimes it just needs a little help to be noticed. And sometimes that beauty needs to be remembered. An' if someone never helps it be remembered, it'll be lost forever or it'll never be told at all...." He looked back up to Nessa. A face of certainty given back to her. "That's why I do it. I'm not as confident as Gloria is an' Hop's way smarter than I'll ever be. But if there's one thing I can do to help them then it'll be to show the world what I see. That they're beautiful."

And in that moment followed more silence as Nessa took a long moment to stare at him. Before she gave a small huff followed by a smile closing her eyes. "Leon was right. You're not like your sister or his little brother." Victor's face frowned a bit by her words but he wasn't given a chance to react before she smile back at him. "But you're still perfect. Seeing the world in such a positive light and wanting to show that so others can tell their stories and never forget what the old has to offer. That's what I strive for and what exactly I'm looking for as well."

"I-.." Victor looked unsure. "M' s-sorry but I don't follow you."

"Victor. With your permission, I want to train you to be my successor to the gym."

And his jaw DROPPED. As did the camera, dropping from his hands and thudding back onto his chest. Thank goodness he still wore it under his chest. Brain short circuting. And it took him a long moment to respond. "I-...HUH!? B-But WHY!?" He gestured with his hands. "M' n-not gym l-leader material."

"Oh I beg to differ." Victor jumped at the new voice and looked up as Leon's form suddenly appeared next to him with a giant smile. "You'd make a great a gym leader as Hop would make a great Professor."

"B-But-.." he looked between the two of them. "I-I...M' not like Gloria."

"And that's WHY Nessa chose you instead of anyone else," Leon spoke a softer tone to his voice. "That's what sets you two apart and makes you special. You're right Gloria's confident and takes pride in what she does, which makes her a great choice for someone like Kabu to train. But she can be a bit ..um.." He tried to put it nicely. "Brash and jumps to things too quickly. Which might work for someone matching Kabu's and hers fighting style but obviously that doesn't match your own. And not what Nessa's looking for. She's been looking for someone who pays attention to details and can think off them. Like you do shown by how you perceive things."

"That's right." Victor yelped again when he turned further to look behind Leon and saw Hop smiling. "You always keep a level head when things go wrong and spot the little details when no one does. That's how you saved us. Remember?'' Victor stared. And Hop quietly shuffled on his feet. "I got carried away in the moment and let my emotions get the better of me. I put everyone at risk because I jumped rational thinking and sped away. You were the one who thought of them trying to come back and take the ancient sword and kept it safe. And if you didn't, there was no way we would've been able to summon Zacian to stop Zamazenta and save everyone. Victor...You saved everyone that day by yourself. And you didn't even realize it!" Hop smiled wider. "So now on top of being rivals and best friends, we're heroes too! Thanks to your thinking!"

They were all right. Gloria and Hop were both strong and heroes in they're own right, but if Victor hadn't done what he did...Well you'd rather not think of what might've happened if Victor wasn't able to summon Zacian. But none of you cared to notice all too caught up. Gloria was a little..ok. Maybe a bit more than a little oblivious to things, but Victor caught all of that.

"But...I-I'm still not as g-good as battlin' like everyone else."

"That's because you lack confidence in yourself." Nessa said gaining his attention back to her. "But I've seen the way you fought when helping me take back my gym and have heard other gym leaders give similar stories. I personally like the way you fight, and with just a little help I think you can see that too. I know what it felt like at one point to not believe in yourself when it comes to something, but sometimes all we need is a little help from someone. So...What do you say? Want to take a chance with me?"

Victor stared at her for a long moment, as if not believing something as well special as this would happen to him. Before a sound left him which you thought was a sob at first but it was in fact a choked laugh because he gave a shaky smile reaching a hand up to rub at his eyes.

"I'd really like that a lot." He sounded like he was trying not to cry tears of joy.

Well ...everyone couldn't but smile. Including Nessa who nodded. "Well then Victor. I look forward to working with you."

"Oh. That reminds me. Before I forget-," Leon took a moment to hum, patting his pockets for something. "Let's see. Where did I put that pass?" Before he ended up fishing something from his side pocket and smiling at the small ticket like object in his hand. "Aha! Got'cha!" He held it out to Victor who blinked at him and with a sniff slowly took it from him. "I got it since I had a feeling it might help you."

he looked at the ticket embroidered with a small crown on it before looking back to Leon. "W-What's this?"

"A Crown Pass." He pointed at it. "I won't say too much since I have a feeling it'll help you if you go."

"Ye mean you're gonna have me train with someone like Gloria?"

"Not exactly, but I do believe the experience will benefit you...Buuut it does take place somewhere cold all the time like Circhester. I know you really don't like the cold but I think if you're willing to give it a try it'll be a great experience- OOF!"

Leon jumped from something latching onto him making him blink and look down, only to find Victor hugging him. ".....Thank you for believing in me."

The Champion stood there frozen for a moment before ruffling the boy's hair through his beanie hat. "I've always believed in you three. And I always will. And I'm so, so proud of you all. You're all growing up to be amazing people just like I knew you would be."

You smiled at them. At the family you saw before you. It was a pleasure to get to watch them grow so much. And it looks like they're going to continue to grow and experience things.

Eventually Leon did have to leave with Piers and the brothers after a tiring battle and discussion, and lots of writing on Sonia's part by flying taxi. Nessa leaving by the next train assuring she'd be in touch. You saw them all off with Piers pausing to look back at you and saying something before climbing into the taxi behind them.

"Remember. Call me."

You assured him you would before they took off which left you with the most difficult part. Telling everyone you would be moving. Which you did...The next day. Not wanting to take away the attention from Hop and Victor with their families gushing over them earning an apprenticeship from Sonia an already established professor (working for the Chairwoman no less) and becoming a student to Nessa who was already famous being a model and gym leader. They deserved to have the spot light for a while. But when you did eventually break the news to anyone it was shocking to say the least especially for the guys, but they all seemed understanding. Mrs. L seemed happy you found somewhere for yourself. But you definitely weren't going anywhere yet. Not until Victor left off for ...Well wherever Leon was sending him. You weren't sure where but you trusted Leon's judgement. It took nearly a week. Victor hesitating, and packing things and procrastinating. But eventually he gained enough willpower to go through it and like with Gloria it was certainly one you would remember. You all gathered at the station as he timidly handed the station master the pass Leon gave him and pointed him in the right direction as the train arrived. Many a tears were shed and many hugs were exchanged. But for some reason Victor paused when he looked at you before boarding the train. And you were confused until he spoke. 

"Thank ye."

...And you blinked. "What?" 

"I said..Thank you. I-I.." he shuffled nervously. "I never got to thank you for helping me back in Hammerlocke. B-Before ye got knocked out n' sent ta the hospital."

....You smiled. "Hey. There's no need to thank me. We were all doing the right thing right? You just go and enjoy yourself. After all, it's your turn to have an adventure."

He smiled and nodded. "Yeah. Thanks, Y/n. For everything."

"Anytime."

And you all watched him board the train. Going through the gates and up onto the train. Pausing to look back at all of you and smiling and waving. Until the doors closed. And with a couple rattles and horn blasts, the train moved moving away and down the tracks. Taking Victor with it as he went off.

"Hey, Y/n," Sonia asked leaning forward to look at you, "You ok there?"

...You nodded still smiling. "Yeah. Yeah I am." Before you turned to her smiling. "Hey, Sonia. Can you call Piers? Just tell him I'm coming to see him. He'll know what I mean."

Sonia blinked but nodded. "Sure. But what do you mean by that?"

You smiled wider. "It means I'm taking the next train home."

A Champion Time For The Heart Ch31 Through Golden Eyes P1

(WARNING And Disclaimers: Character death implied and mentioned and Flashbacks to when Reader was knocked out by a roof along with the mentioning of Leon having been slightly hurt from his encounter with Eternatus! The backstory isn't cannon except for just the story. This chapter will be Leon's P.O.V during the duration of reader's time with them so far. He could still remember it like it was yesterday to him.

He was just eight years old when it happened. The day his father passed away. It was so clear yet so blurred at the same time. He was there one moment smiling at him and kissing his mother good bye before heading off to work, and assuring he'd be back in time for dinner and then the next thing he knew everyone including himself was crying once the news were broken too them. The bad news. The news about the tractor accident. No one could've seen that it would've tipped over when the wheels came loose and that his father would be standing so close by it-...No one could've known he would've-..No one could've known it would-...I-It would-..He-....

He still cries to this day whenever it's brought up or he thinks about it.

But maybe what hurt the most to him was that Hop would never be able to know him. He was too young to remember when it did happen. Only two months old at the time. Everything after that happened so fast it was almost blurred together by a godly fast forward button, or maybe it was because he was so young at the time, but so much happened in so little time after that. His mother started working longer shifts at the local supermarket often leaving him and Hoppy with his 'Auntie' G and her husband or his grandparents to be babysat and not return until much later looking so tired and sad but she didn't let that stop her from smiling at them and loving them as much as she could. Around that same time other things started happening around him as well. Auntie G's husband left leaving her with the two crying newborns that weren't older than Hoppy was. His grandparents sold their home and moved in with them to help his mother with watching over them and the bills. Auntie G and his mother began to hang out more often than they previously did, most likely helping each other through the loss of both losing their spouses just in different ways. He always thought this was the reason he saw Gloria and Victor as other little siblings. Victor another brother and Gloria the little sister he always wanted, and G as a second mother and vise versa with them and his family. It helped him heal a little knowing he had another family just across the road from him but it still was a struggle. So he vowed to help his family in any way he could. He'd start to help look after the babies and try to do more chores around the house to get the strain off his grandparents and mother. And he'd try to put a smile on his Auntie's face whenever he saw her. ...His Auntie started having to work so much harder as well, his grandparents ended up babysitting both Hoppy and the twins which strengthened his idea of having to help. But what could a child do to help them? His answer came all thanks to Sonia. He remembered how excited she was mentioning that the next gym challenge would fall upon them in a couple years soon and that she was so excited because her grandmother was making her a dynamax band for the journey ahead she would take. And it hit him! THAT WAS IT!! The gym challenge was the PERFECT chance to get a place to help them! Although it wouldn't be that easy. Becoming the Champion wasn't really something he was likely to do but it was a chance, and if he did a good enough job he might catch the attention of a gym leader who could make him their apprentice! That would make tons of money and he'd be able to help everyone! But it wouldn't be that easy. It needed work. And boy did he work hard. Having Sonia help him study battles strategies and dynamax effects, getting up early every day to train, and taking notes of what worked best for him and what was most effective in which ways. He was even able to catch a charmander that wondered out from the Slumbering Weald. He put so much work into building that special bond with his team knowing they could trust him and he could trust them. It sure took him a while to convince his family it was a good idea and thanks to Ms. Magnolia he was able to get a sponsorship and dynamax band of his own and set off on his own gym challenge with Sonia when he was around nine and a half. It was scary at first but he trained harder, made friends, and after a long grueling fight he came out victorious against the old Champion. If you think that's where the hardships stopped you'd be wrong. So much responsibility...so much-..stress...At only ten. If someone would've asked him now if he regretted becoming Champion, he would be honest and say no. Because he loved being Champion and all the things that come with it, including the stress now that he was an adult but he wishes things weren't so forced and stressed at the beginning. He would forever thank his friends and family for being his rock during that time of his life and to Mustard for being his mentor throughout the entire experience.

But it wasn't all bad. He was able to make sure his family weren't struggling and later his mother was even able to buy more land she was able to rent out to the local farmers to make enough to take care of herself and Hoppy and both his grandparents with no problem! He was also able to help his Auntie by referring her to a good local farmers market she could sell all her crops too to make enough to live comfortably with the twins! He was proud of himself, and vowed to do everything he could to make sure his family lived as best as they could. Which meant keeping his title as Champion in tack for so long and giving his little brothers and sister the best upbringing he could provide. So it wasn't too surprising to see the champion coming back to Postwick just to hang out with them all and giving the three children pointers to how to take down someone in battle and giving them advice. He didn't mind becoming a prominent male figure in their lives, and he had already been planning on sponsoring all three of them for the gym challenge anyways but made it clear he wanted them to wait until they were older than he was before they took on anything as challenging as a journey this big. So on the ripe old age of fourteen when the next Gym Challenge was approaching he finally decided they were ready. He couldn't put this off from them forever no matter how worried he was for them but it wouldn't be fair for them if he didn't let them go. So it was only a matter of time when he had Sonia send him some starter pokemon for the three of them and went off to go meet them. And that was also the first time he had ever met Y/n. He had just arrived on charizard to get to Wedgehurst Station and Postwick. Guess word must've gotten out he was visiting because a crowd was waiting for him.

"Hello, hello, Wedgehurst!!,'' He greeted the crowd with a smile and wave, "Your Champion, Leon, is back!! I promise I'll keep doing my best to deliver the greatest battles for you all to watch!!."

"It's our unbeatable champion!" "Leon, you and charizard are the best!" "WE LOVE YOU LEON!!" "SIGN MY BOOK!!" "THAT'S THE MAN MY DAUGHTER WENT TO SCHOOL WITH!!" "LEON!! MR. LEON!! PLEASE LET ME GET A PHOTO OF YOU IN YOUR VICTORY POSE!!" "LEON!! LEON!! LEON!!" "WE'RE ON IT!! We've all been working on our battle skills just like you've taught us, Lee!!" "But that charizard of yours is to strong for the likes of us to take on!"

The poor champion hadn't even noticed the figure of his younger brother through the crowd as he smiled and tried to answer the crowd as best as he could. "Well thank you for that! I hope you all carry on training up your pokemon and never shy from battle!....Oh! Of course Ill sign it for you little buddy!...Then come challenge me for the Champion title!...Too true Charizard is blazingly strong. But other pokemon can be strong as well! That's why I want the strongest of challengers to fill the Gym Challenge and come battle me! My wish is for Galar's Trainers to work together to become the strongest in all the world!....OH! Yes! Of course! I'd love to have a picture with your daughter!"

He hadn't even noticed Hop and Gloria was there in the crowd until you had comically helped to lift Hop above the crowd high enough to wave his arms.

"LEE!!" Hop shouted at the top of his lungs and waved his arms around just as Leon turned back forward.

He blinked for a moment surprised to see his little brother so high up, before he smiled widely. "Hop!" He called back and made his way towards his little brother. Charizard in tow.

He'd gone through the crowd and right up to the three of you smiling and instantly hugged by his little bro.

"Leon!" Hop shouted into the hug. "I missed you!"

"So, my number one fan in all the world has come out of his way to pick me up!" They soon pulled away from each other with Hop absolutely beaming up at his older brother. "Look at you, Hop!" He hummed eyeing him a moment. "I reckon you've grown....exactly an inch and a quarter last time I saw you!"

"Bingo! That's the sort of sharp eye that's kept you undefeated for so long, eh, Leon?"

"Hm. Well it's funny because for a moment I could've sworn you got a growth spurt and grown taller than me," he teased back and Hop shook his head turning to you and Gloria.

"Nah. They helped me out in getting your attention."

Leon turned to the two of you and Gloria smiled widely when his smile landed on her with another hum. "And these bright eyes over here...I've got it! You must be Gloria! Am I right?" He asked in the same teasing voice which made Gloria playfully roll her eyes. "I've heard LOADS about you from my little brother."

"Oh knock it off, Lee! You know it's me." Her response from him was him ruffling her hat and hair playfully.

"Oh y'know I was just teasing! It's good to see you too, Glory! How's your Mom and Victor doing?"

Gloria giggled before shaking her head at the ruffling and reaching up to fix her hat. "Fine. Pretty sure Mum's helping with the barbecue dinner and Victor started his journey earlier this year."

"Wow. He did? I must've missed a lot since being back."

You were standing there too but you seemed to space out thinking about something until Gloria rose a brow and spoke making you blink back at them.

"There you go again." You blinked at Gloria again as she rolled her eyes. "You were staring off at nothing again, Y/n."

"Oh..Uh sorry. Just thinking about something....Again." Gloria rose a brow but you looked up past her when Leon stepped beside her.

" Oh. So you're the other one that helped Hop, yes?" He asked in a friendly tone and smile.

Before you could speak tho, Gloria chimed in proudly. "YEP! That's right! Not only did Y/n help but she agreed to be my traveling buddy for my upcoming journey!"

"Is that so? Good for you Glor! But I don't think we've properly been introduced." With a swish of his cape Leon proudly pointed at himself and smiled confidently. "I'm the Galar Region's Greatest ever Pokemon Champion!...And a massive charizard fan, too! People call me the Unbeatable Leon!"

And you had chuckled which made him smile more! That's good! He always loved making people smile! Everyone should get a chance to smile. But you didn't get to say anything else when Hop spoke again.

"Come on, Lee! And you two, Gloria! Y/n! Bet I can beat the both of you back home!"

"You're on! And this time I can finally catch up with you!"

Hop smirked with a challenge. "Oh yeah!" Gloria opened her mouth- Hope turned and bolted back up the dirt road. "LAST ONES THERE IS A SMELLY SKUNTANK!!"

"NO FAIR!! YOU NEVER SAID GO!!" Gloria shouted running right after him.

Leon laughed out loud watching the kids run off and shake his head. "That Hop...Always wanting to be the best, isn't he? With a proper rival of his own, I bet he'd push himself to become something truly special..."

"Oh he will. I know he is-..." You had froze up as he turned to you in surprise. You..thought Hop was special too? "B-Because he has such a great role model! H-H-He r-r-really looks up to you y'know! You're a really kind person and good brother!"

"Thank you!".....You blinked staring at his smile and made a 'Huh' sound and he chuckled again. "I said thank you. " He was happy you thought Hop was special! He thought so too and at the time happily returned that nice compliment. "That's honestly really nice of you to say so. I always try to be the best person and role model I can be for Hop and others like him. It's just one of the many duties as the best Galar Champion."

"Uh...Your w-welcome."

He smiled and turned back to the watching crowd with another cape swish. "Well, everyone! I bid you farewell for today! But don't you fret..." In a sudden blur he struck a pose with his arm pointed towards the sky and the crowd cheered loudly for it! Giving the same hand signal back. "I'll always be around to make sure everyone in Galar can have a Champion time!" You couldn't help but smile as he did so. Yep. At least this Lean was pretty spot on from the vaugue memories you have of when you played the game. He turned back to you with a smile. "Hey. Since the kids already ran ahead why don't you race me there? It'll be fun!"

He wasn't expecting for Gloria to get a traveling partner but you seemed nice and that sobble he gave- Oh. Silver Veil. He forgot you named him Silver later. Silver seemed to love you a lot. Although he couldn't believe you never had a pokemon before and how you met his family certainly was one of the strangest stories he'd ever heard. He decided to ask you when his curiosity peeked during dinner.

"You're Y/n right?," Lean asked and you blinked back up at his smile. He chuckled and pointed a hand up. "I don't think we had the chance to talk since you all met me at the station. You helped my little brother stand a little taller-"

"And give Lee an ego boost," Gloria teased.

"Hey! C'mon Glory. She just gave me a compliment." He chuckled and looked back to you. "I also heard you agreed to be Glory here's traveling buddy. Are you two friends?"

You opened your mouth to speak but Gloria cut you off as she pointed her fork at you two. "Actually we just met this morning. She was camping in the Slumbering Weald and was chased out by a flock of wild Corviknight." She shoved the food into her mouth and you wanted to sink into your seat as Lean blinked in surprise before looking at you.

"You went camping in the Slumbering Weald? Even I wouldn't get lost there, and corviknight are big pokemon. How'd you manage to get into that mess?"

"Uh-...It's actually a f-funny story. You see I'm n-new to Galar! I've been uh-...T-T-Traveling around and I guess I didn't know what I'd be getting myself into."

"Oh. Well at least you were able to get out of there alright by the looks of it. So...You're new to the Galar Region?" You nodded yes. "I see. So where are you from?"

"Uh...I-I'm from the K-Kalos Region actually..B-But I've been..Traveling around for a l-long time so...y'know I've been here and t-there."

He blinked. "Kalos Region huh? Wow. That's a long ways from here, across the ocean even. You must really enjoy traveling."

You smiled. "YEP! It's the best!"

Lean smiled at you. "I admire a free heart and spirit! So what brought you to the Galar Region? Was it just to see me?"

"She's here to see the Champion's Cup! And since she's going to be sticking around until everyone can finally battle you, I offered her to come along and BOOM! Instant traveling buddy," Gloria chimed in.

"Y-Yeah! That's right! It's not every day there's a big event like this! And who knows? I might just be eating with the next champion right now, or if you manage to stay champion that is."

"Oh. Well then you're in for a real treat! I have a feeling that this year is going to be full of excitement and powerful trainers like these two here," he gestured to the two teens who seemed to be proud-

"Lee." Leon froze as his mother pointed her own fork at him with a scowl. "I didn't slave away all day making your favorite lunch just so you would be too busy talking to eat it. Champion or not you're still my son in this house and what I say goes! Now hush and eat up!"

"Yes, Ma!"

He thought you seemed nice enough but you sure gave him a good impression later when you went to visit Sonia..and when you alerted him to the dangers that he failed to overlook-

"So, how do you know Sonia?,'' you asked to keep up conversation as you two walked over the bridge leading to the train station.

He was happy to answer. "Oh me and her go way back. Actually she was my rival when I first started my journey to become the Champion I am today. I think you'll like her actually. She's really smart and a great cook to boot! Not to shame my mom's cooking, but if I had to chose between hers and Sonia's dishes, I think I'd have to go with Sonia's." He chuckled smiling widely and reaching a hand up to rub the back of his neck.

You chuckled along as you both turned right at the train station and kept walking towards the research lab. Walking past you heard and noticed a lot of people stopping to stare at Leon as he passed with you pointing, and he just smiled and waved to them. A few women swooning and giggling like fangirls as he walked past with you.

"Heh. You must be pretty popular with the ladies," you teased and you were surprised when he got a bashful look over his face.

"Yeah..Well I don't really have much time for really thinking about dating or anything. Being the Champion means more responsibility for me to handle. I'm lucky the Chairman gave me a few days off to sponsor the kids. Now a days you need a sponsorship by one of the main benefactors to compete in the Gym Challenge, and I wanted to help those two when I had the chance." He felt a bit bashful at that but thankfully you both arrived at the lab at that time. "AH! Here we go! Looks like I remembered the right way after all!" You blinked and looked up to the building in front of you. A pokeball was painted above the doorway and it looked like a fancy old cottage home with a purple roof, and a few leafy plants hanging off of it. Leon grabbed the door without hesitation and smiled. "Let's head on in then."

Before you could protest, he had already walked into the home and left the door wide open for you to follow. You looked at your sobble for a brief moment and it made an unsure face. Ultimately you decided to follow him in since after all you had been there before in game, so it couldn't have been much different in person right? On instinct, you closed the door behind you with your foot and ended up finding Leon standing a few feet away looking around at the place. So you looked around too and slowly got a sense of the area. Next to the door was a small kitchen like area with a sink, table with chairs, coffee pot, and a tea set sitting on said table. The walls and floors was a simple white, with a few table and desks covered in books, equipment, and what you guessed was whatever 'research' they were doing here with all the books on the shelves. Literally. There was a LOT of books with a staircase leading up to even more, and of course a few houseplants here and there. A lot more like a library than a lab to you really. You looked back to Leon as he whistled.

"I've got to give it to Professor Magnolia. Everything in here looks fascinating."

You went to walk to stand beside Leon until you jumped back with a yelp as Sonia's yamper showed up.

"Hey there lil buddy!," Leon exclaimed kneeling down and reaching out to pet the small pokemon who gladly accepted his affection with a couple yips. "It's Sonia's Yapper. Which means she's in here somewhere."

And close she was. "What is it today, Leon?" You both looked up at the voice and the small Yapper turned around and barked happily seeing it's master. Hands on her hips looking down at you two. "Looking for info on another never-before-seen, super strong pokemon? I wish you'd stop with these outlandish requests."

He opened his mouth to say something- "ACK!!" He turned his head away as the yamper jumped up and licked his cheek like a dog, causing Leon to laugh and stand back up shaking his head. "Good to see you, too, Yamper!" He turned his head as the orange haired lady came walking down the steps. "Yamper here is a real champ when it comes to helping you find your way around." He pointed to the pokemon who barked. "He came to my rescue plenty of times back in the day, when I got lost on the road. Oh yeah, and that's his trainer, Sonia!" He pointed to the lady who by now was at the bottom of the stairs and walking towards you two. The small pokemon barking and running over to her feet. "What can I say about Sonia? Well I like the way she cooks. She makes food you can gobble down in a flash."

"Tsk." He turned back to the woman with a smile as she suddenly stood before him arms crossed. "What kind of an introduction is that? Did you forget we were rivals during our Gym Challenge? It wasn't just Yamper helping you out. I did, too! "

He chuckled and reached a hand up to sheepishly rub his neck. "Yeah. Can't forget how many times you had to drag me to the right gyms for my battles?"

She rolled her eyes. "I still for the life of me how you end up in the most random of places. Seriously. The only place you never get lost to is the kitchen for a snack."

"Oh come on, Sonia. You don't have to be so mean." he pointed to you. "I even brought a friend to wait while we get the pokedexes."

Sonia looked over at you and the Sobble on your shoulder peeking out from it's last spook. "Are you one of the trainers Leon's sponsoring?"

"Wha- Oh no! This is Y/n. She's actually going to be traveling with one of the trainers I'm sponsoring. She just tagged along to wait for them...aaand to make sure I didn't get lost on the way here. Ahehe."

"Oh I see." ...A smile came back onto her face. "Anyway, nice to meet you!" She pointed a hand at herself. "Name's Sonia. I'm the professor's assistant. It's very nice to meet you."

You smiled and waved a hand. "Hello. It's nice to meet you too." Your head did another look around the place ultimately landing on the glassed off area with plants. "This is an interesting lab you've got here.." You pointed at the area. "What's that?"

"Oh that?" She glanced to it quick before looking back to you. "That's the terrarium my grandmother and I sometimes conduct small environmental study tests with although it's not being used for anything at the moment." She pointed back to your Sobble. "Oh what a little cutie. It reminds me of the starter Sobble Leon was given by my grandmother for the trainers he's sponsoring."

The sobble chirped and Leon gave her a nervous chuckle. "Actually that IS the same Sobble Professor Magnolia gave me."

Sonia blinked to him faster than lightning and he gave an even nervous smile holding up his hands. "WHAT?! Lee! What's it doing back here then? Grandmother made sure you had the starter pokemon for three trainers!"

"Take it easy, Sonia. I'm not returning it." He held up a finger. "I-It's actually a pretty funny story."

She hummed. "Uh huh. I'm going to LOVE hearing about this." She started walking and you stepped aside as she passed one hand reaching up to rub her temples as the other one motioned for you to follow her Yamper at her heels. "Come on. I'll make you two some tea." You watched her go before looking to Leon who shrugged with that nervous grin and turned to begin walking towards where Sonia went, you following. "So. Mind telling me why the sobble we gave you is back here?" She asked grabbing the coffee pot and placing it on the small oven by the sink and reaching over to click it on as Leon and you came over.

"Well you see." He gave that nervous smile as she turned around to him brow raised. "Those three kids I told you about was reduced to two when one decided to go on a separate journey instead of doing the Gym Challenge with the others. So Sobble was kind of an extra." He took a seat across from her as she went to sit down, and pointed to you and the sobble. "But luckily Y/n here was in need of one too so it kinda worked out for the best."

The sobble chirped happily as you took a seat opposite of both of them and shrugged. "I mean...It's better to have one now just in case right? Still kinda getting used to it."

"Oh that's right. Hop mentioned you never had a pokemon before like Gloria."

Sonia rose a brow to you. "You've seriously never had a pokemon before?"

You quickly shrugged "I had more interest in traveling really. New to the region."

Sonia hummed but nodded. "Well I think you'll find the pokemon here very interesting. Especially the dynamaxing battles?"

"......Dynamaxing?," you asked confused. "What's that?"

"You DON'T know what dynamaxing is?," Sonia asked eyes wide.

"Oh boy. Here comes the professional speech," Leon smiled good naturedly and leaned back in his seat. Arms and legs crossed. You looked to him and was about to ask what he meant...only to get interrupted by a speech of intel by Sonia.

"It's known as the Dynamax Phenomenon. This phenomenon, in which pokemon take on gigantic forms, has only been observed in the Galar Region. Moreover, it only seems to occur in specific locations and under set conditions." You opened your mouth- "On the gigantification of pokemon, while the general principal holds that pokemon grow stronger and larger by evolving, it is also true that simply making oneself appear larger is another survival strategy with merit." You raised a hand- "But regarding the changes pokemon can undergo. Pokemon do not only change in appearance when they level up. They can also do so through the use of certain items or under the influence of the area they live in, in some cases. It is hypothesized that some factor within the pokemon itself is what allows for these changes to their form and biology, but thus far, conclusive evidence of such a factor has not been found by researchers."

She finished with a smile content with her eyes closed and arms crossed, her Yamper not understanding but barking in total agreement anyways as you just....stared. Leon seemed to be the only one to make a noise as he chuckled in amusement at himself for Sonia seeming to break you for a long moment of silence.

".....So basically dynamax-whatchamacallit stuff is just pokemon Super evolving for a hot minute?..Cool," you finally replied seeming to make some kind of sense of what she just spewed out to you. Sonia stopped and stared at you. Leon however snorted and quickly covered his mouth, turning away to shake as snickers escaped his body as you blinked. "Was it something I said?"

Sonia gave her laughing friend an annoyed frown before clearing her throat professionally and looking back calmly to you. "Oh no. But trust me when I say that Dynamaxing in the Galar Region is more than just pokemon with super evolving. We're the only region in the world who's pokemon is able to do so. We still don't know why, but it's one reason why our pokemon battles are so popular around the world."

"So you guys like to brag about your region of super hero pokemon evolving into bigger super hero pokemon to gain viewers??"

"PFFFT!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Leon couldn't contain himself anymore. Arms coming to hug his middle as he half leaned over the table laughing his lungs out. Sonia back to glaring at him annoyed and you raising a brow. What was so funny? Isn't this basically what is was?...Well from you're point of view yes, but now that you're seeing these two, maybe it's just that serious to Sonia. "I-I-..." He wheezed. "I-I-I'm so-o-orry! Ahahaha! I've just never heard anyone say something like that especially to Sonia! M-Most d-d-don't even question what she says. Hahaha!" He coughed a few times covering his mouth as he started to come down from his laughing high Sonia still scowling.

"OH!" You held up your hands catching Sonia's attention. "I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to make you feel bad I swear."

Sonia huffed but shook her head. " Nevermind. It's fine. Some people." She side eyed Leon with the stink eye as he wiped his eyes coming back from laughing. "Just don't get how scientific research is."

"So what is it exactly that you two do here?," you asked trying to lighten the tension. Luckily it seemed to work as Sonia smiled back towards you.

"Oh. Leon's a right amazing Champion, and I'm basically just an assistant. I'm not even Gran's official assistant, either." She looked down to the table with an almost sad look, "I've just been calling myself one. Somehow, it makes me feel a little restless. ...But to really answer your question." She pointed back towards the desks and tables covered in books, papers, etc. "We do research on ancient history of the pokemon and dynamaxing phemnonenon. We also supply starting trainers in this town with their first starter pokemon, although this is the first time Lee's delivering them personally. I just hope that whoever he decided to give them too aren't reckless. No offense."

"None taken," you replied, "But don't worry. I think they'll be in good hands with the new trainers." You smiled.

"Speaking of those two, where are they?" Leon hummed and gave the door a curious look as if Hop and Gloria would burst through it any moment, before looking behind him at the clock on the wall. ".....It's been almost a whole hour. Telling Mum can't take that long, and surely they couldn't have gotten lost. That's my thing."

He couldn't remember when the last time he laughed that hard was, and although he did feel kinda bad, the bewildered looks you made Sonia have was just too funny to NOT laugh at. You had a blunt but funny sense of humor about you. But it was after he said that last sentence did you stop being funny. Instead gaining a far away stare about you before you turned paler than a abomisnow. He would've asked if you were alright if you hadn't literally jumped out of your seat and slammed your hands onto the table-

Your hands slammed on the table and you desperately looked at Leon. "WE HAVE TO GO! THE KIDS ARE IN THE SLUMBERING WEILD!!"

"WHAT!?" Leon asked eyes wider than dinner plates as if you were far away and he didn't hear you.

You nodded. "They went there after this wooloo knocked over the fence leading to it by Gloria's house! We have to leave right now or else they could get seriously hurt!"

He wasn't sure what possessed him to do that but too many panicked feelings were running through him and he only heard that Hop and Gloria were in danger and in the SLUMBERING WEILD of all places!! That place was so dangerous even an experienced Pokemon Ranger would think twice before going in there. So imagine his horror when he saw what you had said was indeed right and they had gone after this wooloo.

"No.." It came out so quietly you weren't sure if Leon even spoke but you looked to him regardless. A look of horror, panic, and absolute FEAR on his face. "No...NONONONO!!" He suddenly darted forward again and stopped right at the fence entrance darting his hands up to cup his mouth. "HOP!! GLORIA!!"

His only answer back was the echoes of his own voice which eerily and spookily echoed back to him slowly fading out into the woods before them and even tho breathing heavily for breath you forced yourself to walk up next to him and in an urgent voice said. "We HAVE to go after them! They could be hurt!"

"NO!" He turned to you a determined scowl on his face. "I'm going after them! I need you to stay here in case they come back before I get out or in case I get lost and can't find them! I can't risk you coming with me and getting lost too! And if they come back and notice Im gone they might just come right back in looking for me!"

"WHAT?!," you blurted out, "But won't two of us searching make it easier to find them!?"

"I CANT RISK THEIR LIVES OR YOURS, Y/N! Don't worry about me! I'll get charizard to fly me out if I need to! If none of us are back within an hour I NEED you to run back to Sonia and tell her what happened! She knows where to get the proper help!"

THANK ARCEUS THEY WERE ALRIGHT!! By some miracle he was able to find the two and got them back out ok but he still dreads to think about what might've happened if you hadn't figured out where they went. He was also curious to how you figured out so he asked.

"How was Sonia after you explained what happened?"

He groaned leaning his head back and crossing his arms, giving a closed eyed grimace as you two walked. "Not too good. She yelled at me about how rude it was to just run out like that without giving her a heads up, and then she got even more annoyed she's going to have to fix that fence. Hopefully no other wooloos get the idea to enter Slumbering Wield...." His eyes popped open for a moment before he turned to you with a look. "Speaking of which, how'd you know they went in there?"

"Um...Well like you said. I saw the wooloo earlier with the other two when it was trying to bust down the fence yesterday, and your little brother must really love wooloos by how much he talks about them....So it was just a lucky guess based off..wooloos??"

"I see..." He smiled. "Well that was a pretty good guess. I can't say how grateful to you I am for helping Hop and his friend."

He had to admit it. He would've never thought of something like that or put the two pieces together so quickly in the way you did. It's true Hop absolutely adored wooloos, especially his own...and going into Slumbering Weald to rescue a single wooloo sounded exactly like something Hop would do and Gloria going in right by him was something she'd definitely do too. He'd be forever grateful you were able to connect the dots quickly. From there it was just a matter of just getting Victor who arrived late set up with a back up starter and repaying you. He had felt you had done him a great favor helping to keep two people he cared about safe and he decided to repay that kindness in full by getting you all set up with a pack worthy of traveling. He was buying supplies for the other three as well and being Champion he could certainly afford it all, so helping you the same way he was helping them seemed like the least he could do to repay your kindness. He was absolutely NOT about to let those three go out there unprepared and with nothing like he first did. Better to be safe than sorry. He repaid his debt to you and he left and...well that was it for a while. He didn't see Y/n again for a long, long time after that. He saw the trio at the Entrance Ceremony but considering you were in the stands he didn't get a chance to say hi. He did see the trio throughout their journey on the league's official website. Watching them battle against his gym leader friends and through Vic's online photo blog with all the pictures he took. He saw you in the background of a few of them but he really didn't see you in person until much later when he agreed to meet up with the Chairman-..Well now Ex-Chairman Rose about a plan to put up some more wind mills to generate more power to the powerplant. So he went, got lost, had Raihan pick him up on his flygon, and arrived in Hammerlocke. Imagine his surprise when he saw both Y/n and Gloria there. He surprised you enough into giving a funny squeal sound and Gloria practically knocked him over from her hug. He heard from his earlier enounter with Victor and Hop (who felt down at the time-) that you had been helping to keep them safe-....You...Were? He wasn't sure what to think about that, but none the less he was just happy someone was looking after these three on their journey around Galar, especially when Victor told him about you defending someone from a couple of goons dressed as rockstars...Hmm. Sounded familiar. He made a mental note to give Piers a call later when he had the time. But he was grateful still all the same and made sure to thank you for it that same day he saw you..Until he was chased to the powerplant by a group of fans. Sigh. And then there was even more time before he saw you again too before he saw you at Hammerlocke yet again when he came around to visit Raihan. It was short, brief, and simple before he went with Sonia to see what that shaking in the powerplant was all about. Turns out it was just an 'accident with one of their machines exploding' but considering what actually happened with battling Eternatus he highly doubted that now, but when he parted ways with Sonia and caught up to Raihan he was...Well he was sure something. He found his friend sitting in the gym hands clasped in front of his face and staring off.

"Raihan!," he greeted with a giant smile and wave to his rival, "It's been a while! I came to see how the challenge was faring for you!" ...When Raihan didn't respond, the champion blinked and rose a brow at him. "Rai?" He questioned with a poke to the gym leader's shoulder. "Hey. Are you alright there? You look like you're thinking real hard on something."

And then Raihan inhaled. "You know that Y/n girl?"

His brow rose higher. "....Yyyeesss. We're friends." He considered you as a somewhat friend at this point. "Why do you ask?"

Silently Raihan patted the space next to him. "Sit down. You're gonna want to hear this."

He wasn't sure what he was expecting when Raihan said that but he was nervous since his friend was acting so serious, but when Raihan did tell him about yours and his first meeting-....He laughed. Not just laughed. But hugged his sides because they hurt so much laughing because he had never heard anyone doing that to him before. The poor fella seemed so flabbergasted when you so suddenly, but nicely turned him down on the spot before he even made any moves. First Sonia and now his Rival. Gosh. Already you shocked two people who were really hard to shock were shocked by you with expressions he'd never seen before and he wasn't the only one who laughed. Apparently Piers had done the same when Rai told him. Gosh you were really amusing. He again wouldn't see you again until much later again after the trio had defeated Piers, he had gotten called out to take care of a rampaging dynamaxed pokemon on Route Nine when he ran into all of you. Of course it was too dangerous to go to Hammerlocke that way so he had the four of you take the back roads back to Hammerlocke with the promise he'd meet you all there. He'd rather not see the four of you hurt if he could help it. He did end up keeping his promise to the four of you at Hammerlocke to talk to the now Ex-Chairman Rose about the strange dynamax pokemon he took down, but he unfortunately couldn't keep his promise of eating with the four of you. But he was able to give you all some money which surprised you-

"Hmhmhm. You're doing a great job capturing those shots on your blog! I know Hop looked so great in those pictures you took of him Battling against Opal! I'm so happy the camera I got you is working so well! I'm sure both our Mums are so happy you three are doing so well for yourselves." Victor groaned even after Leon stopped ruffling his head but didn't complain like he did with the snow in Circhester. You blinked when he finally turned to you. And your eyes bulged out of your head like those funny googly eye stickers when he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small stack of money!! And it was small. Only being around sixty dollars as you stared silently as he held it out to you. "Now I believe I promised you all lunch. I'm afraid I can't join you as the Chairman has called me as well, but this should be enough to tide you over."

".............Huh?,'' you asked.

"Wha- But Lee. We didn't get here before you remember?," Victor pointed out.

And you finally snapped out of it nodding and pointing to him. "Y-Y-Yeah! What he said. ...And why are you giving this to me?"

He smiled before placing the money in your hand using his other hand to close your fingers around it, and you looked between him and the money into your hands as he waved you off. "Take it as a thank you for looking after my little bro and his friend on their journey." You opened your mouth but he held up a hand to stop you. "No. Please. I don't give hand outs, but I also know it's a bit rough for you out there not having any money like the others. I can't give a whole lot but I hope this helps you. Go ahead and get everyone some lunch and the rest is yours."

It was the least he could do since you had your hands full helping to take care of everyone, and he was technically right. You probably didn't have a whole lot to spend compared to the money they earnt from the challenge and himself. So that made you both even now! He didn't like owing people much anyways. From there it would certainly be a long time since he saw you again. He laughed when Raihan told him the tale of you pulling the hood over him again but that was the extent of how much he heard from you until around September when he got a phonecall from his mother letting him know you four had safely returned home until the finals that years after defeating Raihan. Oh good. So at least he didn't have to worry about you all and he was sure they wouldn't just wonder into the Slumbering Weald again so for now he'd focus on his own duties until those finals came. Speaking of which, he needed to get his Christmas shopping done. He wasn't sure how much time he might be able to spend with them this year so he might as well send the yearly package to his family. He had gotten most of his friends and Family in Postwick something. Extra notepads for Sonia and Ms. Magnolia. Calling in a favor from said Ms. Magnolia to get Hop a special book he knew he wanted. Some cookies he knew his grandmother adored. A cozy sweater for his grandfather. Self pampering kit for his mother because she deserved it. A gardening tool set for his Auntie. A waterproof camera for Victor (it'd be helpful for underwater shoots or if he got caught in the rain-). And a whole bunch of curry and pokemon pictures for Gloria (since she was working on those dexes-). ...But...that also left one other person. Y/n. What would Y/n like? It'd be rude for him to not get you something especially since he considered you a friend by this point. He was having a hard time deciding what to get you when he saw it in a store window. A small matching pair of a blue hat and scarf with a small sobble face on the front. You liked sobbles right? It was getting cold anyways so that'd be a good gift! He ended up sending that along with a cookie tin over to you. There! That outta be a good gift. He was sure happy when he saw you nearly a month later wearing the set when the two of you met during the start of the semifinals. Mr. Rose and Olena were 'busy' so he was in charge of putting together the entire thing together and he finally got to thank you for all your hard work.

"I'd better go find a s-s-spot in the stadium," You added a little shaken because of the cold as Gloria grabbed her pale brother hand and started carting him off behind Hop,"So I c-can get a good view o-of their battles."

You blinked when Leon patted Your shoulder. "Don't worry about that." Leon smiled widely. "You're being treated to the V.I.P lounge and watching the semifinals with me this year!"

F/c eyes widened as you smiled. Ah. That's the Leon you know. "No way! You're serious!?"

Leon chuckled and nodded. "Yep! I've already promised myself to make sure you would experience a Champion Time and nothing can be more so than joining me to watch the matches. Besides, I couldn't let you sit out in the stadium knowing your stuttering worse than Victor with a cold."

"A-Alright! That sounds amazing!"

"Is this that Sobble I gave you?" With a giant smile he gestured his hand out to Silver in your arms. "Wow! I see you've been taking care of that pokemon real well! He looks like a real healthy drizzle!"

....You smiled and nodded back. "Thanks. But he has a name now. Silver Veil."

Leon blinked at Silver who chirped out an answer when you spoke his name. "Silver huh?...Hmm. I think that name suits him real well." he complimented you.

"Thanks. How have you been by the way?" Your eyes scanned back over the crowd. "Seems you really stirred up quite the crowd."

He chuckled and waved a hand. "Well I do try to make everyone as happy as I can as Champion. OH! But while I have the chance, I also wanted to thank you for all the help you gave Mum. It can be a chore for her trying to do everything herself since Gran and Gramps aren't always in the best shape to help."

Your face gave a look of surprise for a moment. "Wha- How'd you know about that?"

"Hop and I talk to each other on the phone all the time. Same with Mum and I. They've all said some really good things about you and how helpful you were!"

You stood there for a moment before chuckling bashfully. "Well it wasn't a big deal. It was the least I could do for how much she helped me out." You then pointed one hand towards the stadium. "Besides are you sure its ok if I join you? I couldn't ask that of you, you know that. It wouldn't be fair to everyone else around here." As if to get your point across you gestured to the crowd and Leon looked to where you were pointing. You didn't want to just take him up on his offer no matter how nice it was. It wasn't fair to everyone else who couldn't have this chance. "It's much appreciated though. It's fine really."

"But I insist." you paused as he turned back to you with a giant smile. You opened your mouth to protest but he held up a hand. "You've helped my mother a lot. You've helped to keep my little brother and his friends safe. And from what I've been told from the incidents in Stow-on-Side and Spikemuth, you've also risked your safety a few times as well to do so." You still stared at him as he returned his hand to his side. "Part of being a Champion is being able to know people. You've done a lot and haven't asked for anything in return or taken advantage of the fact you've been around my friends and family. That's the signs of a good person. And the least I can do to repay that kindness is making sure you have a Champion Time like the rest of us." He smiled friendly to you but there was something..Different about his face. It could've just been the snow and cold air adding a rosey pink to his cheeks but he almost seemed more affectionate as he smiled at you. "And... I-I can promise that none of the others would mind either."

It was really considerate of you to not want special treatment but he was glad when you took him up on his offer! But then when the matches started on more and he watched along with you...it was then that he started to understand a bit more when you both spoke.

"Y/n?" You yelped with a jump and whirled your head around to stare at the man who walked up behind you, only to find Leon smiling and holding up a hand. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." He then gestured to the window. "Going to watch the matches."

"Um..Oh! Y-Yeah. Thought I'd better get a good view y'know," you answered back voice a bit more shaky.

He nodded humming Gold eyes looking you over for a second. "...The snow's beautiful isn't it? It may be cold but it makes the perfect atmosphere for Christmas. I can't remember the last time I got to properly celebrate the holidays with Hoppy...What about you? What's your favorite thing about the holidays?"

....Your head shook before you returned your now crestfallen eyes downwards to the glass, not even able to look at your own reflection. The fabric of your coat felt rough as you ran your hands over your sleeves. Leon rose a bold brow, clearly taking note of the sudden change in mood so fast.

".....I don't remember. My mom never celebrated Christmas since I was just twelve." The champion blinked at you, fully turning his face to you now. "I never had any gifts or christmas tree or stockings...Yeah. I GET that's not what Christmas is about. It's about spending time together and stuff. " You scowled down at the glass your fists digging into your sleeves' fabric. "But would it have hurt her to at least get me a candy cane? A sweater? A small card?! I GOT!!...." Your body deflated along with your face. "....I never got anything from her." Leon stared as your arms flopped to your sides. ".....She n-never did want to celebrate holidays. T-There was a-always some k-kind of money problem..."

"She never wanted too...Or did she not just ever let you?," Leon asked softly and you froze, your reflection's face mirroring the giant bomb that was just suddenly dropped onto you by Lee as he watched you. But his head immediately lifted up high as he saw the telltale signs of your eyes becoming shiny, and not in the sparkly kind. More like the 'Im about to cry' signs showing. AW RAPIDASH CRAP!! Great going Leon! You just goofed up again as always. Some Champion you were for making a girl cry. He wanted to smack himself and groaned. What was he thinking!? Instead he...reached up a hand, hesitated for a moment when you didn't respond from the movements, and then gently grabbed your shoulder. Of course you jumped at the touch and snapped to him wide eyed to him. "Hey. You shouldn't cry. Look at this. Your mum's not here is she?" No..Of course she wasn't. "You can celebrate Christmas now however you please right?"

.....Sniffling you shook your head no and reached a hand up to wipe at your eyes. "I-I'd l-love to...But I can't?''

"Why not?," Leon asked genuinely confused blinking.

"B-Because you're spending Christmas with the guys," your gaze turned back down sadly. "As much as I'd like to spend the holidays with them, I can't just invite myself with them all the time. Besides they deserve a chance to just hang out without me being tagged along with them, especially with their own family. I can't invite myself onto something that I wasn't even invited too."

"What about your dad? Dontcha have any other friends to hang out with?"

"No!," you shot back at him but somehow no one noticed again. "I don't! Because of my mom all my friendships sort of just...faded when when I didn't hang out with them and then they went off after highschool to who knows where! My dad's gone and my mom is...a-also...gone. ...I don't know where they are. Heck! I didn't even have Silver until you gave him to me this year! I-....I haven't had anyone for a l-long t-time ok?" You let out in a shaky voice and looked back away staring back out the glass. "I'll be fine! I was fine then and I'll be fine now, Leon. Thank you b-but I'll be fine by myself for a bit."

You might've not meant to sound so harsh towards Leon but to his credit the man didn't even flinch when you had snapped at him. Another silence resumed where you two slacked and he went back to looking out the window himself. All of it clicked so fast in his head as he stared silently out the window as the current battle ensued. So...Your mom was controlling? Is-...I-Is THAT why you started traveling around and so far from Kalos? Well that would explain why you were currently crying. What mother did that? And your father left you too huh? Yeah. He could relate to that. Not having a father around was certainly tough. He should know all too well he was afraid. He felt a pang of guilt for having pushed the topic the bit, but he was glad he found out more about you although he did feel bad about you crying. SO he was gonna do what he did best, and that was making sure everyone had a Champion Time. Especially someone like you.

".....Hey. Y/n?" You hummed but didn't look away from the glass as Leon spoke your name. "You said you weren't invited right? Well how about I invite you anyways?"

You stared at him mouth agape suddenly and eyes blown wide at the sudden offer. "Wait...You want to invite me on your Christmas trip? But you already planned it."

Without looking at you still he nodded again. "Yeah. It'd be a nice change of pace to have someone like you around, and don't worry about it." He smiled wider at you making your face light up just a wee bit. "It's my job to make sure everyone has a Champion Time around the holidays. Especially my friends."

That Christmas had been one of the best ones he had ever had. Not only was he able to spend it with his siblings, but he also got to spend it with you too! It was full of fun and surprises. He managed to get you a pokeball through that game, Hoppy and the others had a good time, and he even got a small gift from you. A small metal Charizard key chain he still has attached to his regular keys. He...He couldn't remember the last time he was able to get a gift from someone too. He was usually too busy so-...S-So it really meant a lot when you did give it to him. But it was that one incident. The accident...that really made him question how he really felt towards you. You both were just standing there at the park exit waiting for the trio to finish making up their minds about a purchase when it happened. You squealed which startled him into looking at you and jumping when you slipped on some ice on the sidewalk and he dove to catch you on instinct, not wanting you to hurt yourself. Then IT happened-

You gasped as your foot slipped on the slippery surface with a loud gasp enough to catch someone's attention. Your arms reached out for nothing but balance which even escaped you. No balance and nothing to grab onto to stop you from slipping on the ice and falling and hurting yourself on the hard concrete-

But..

No hard concrete hurt you.

You had squeezed your eyes shut hard expecting to feel the cold hard concrete but instead you felt a soft but firm ..something around your shoulder and lower back, and on instinct your hands reached to clutch at the thing stopping you from falling. And your body froze.....Well you weren't fallen on the ground but then how were you suspended in ...air-...You body all but froze up as soon as you opened your eyes and stared wide eyed into just as equally wide eyed gold ones. Silently you both stared at one another registering why yours and Leon's faces were so close. Until it finally dawned on your buffering brain. GOOD GRIEF!! Leon must've tried to catch you when you fell but instead managed to catch you and held you in a perfect dip (ironically under that blasted mistletoe as if mocking you and your situation-) and his arms holding you. On instinct your hands had clutched onto his front jacket and the quick jarring had pulled Leon's 'disguise' (his scarf covering the lower half of his face-) down so his full face was looking at you as if equally surprised he caught you like this. The cold wind blowing over you was countered by Leon's warmer breath..before he opened his mouth to say something. Something like 'Are you ok' or something like that, but that wasn't about to happen. Leon moved but not by his own accord. Leon's foot, which was STILL standing on the same ice you were, squeaked as it slipped against the slick ice and sent him lurching forward until his face collided with something soft and warm...

And that something just so happened to be you.

His face from collided with yours. Both frozen as something soft collided with your own lips. Everything in time froze for the both of you that moment.

There you stood frozen as Leon stood above lips against yours but not on purpose. After all he did just slip on ice. But your body was frozen, numb as you stood there looking up at him like your eyes turned into those funny googily eye stickers. He did in the same. Seeming in shock, frozen in time as his gold eyes stared back in the same state at you. Both mind blanks and bodies not being able to feel anything but neither could tell if that was due to the cold or the fact you two were in more shock than if a pikachu had zapped you. Eventually someone did move. You did. Your brain finally processing what was happening enough for common sense to finally return to your thought process and you moved your head back. Freeing your lips from his that was thrown forward from the trip, his soft purple bangs that hung off him tickled your forehead as it brushed against it from the moment you pulled back. The action seemed to make himself overcome the shock as well, after a moment righting his weight and yours up and slowly retracting his hands from the you to rest at the front of his body.

And you both stared at one another.

And then your brains finally processed what really happened.

The snowflakes and cold air colliding with his face couldn't extinguish the fire that froze in his cheeks as they instantly lit up the brightest shade of pink you've ever seen. But it wasn't just his face. His ears and whole face was now a pretty primrose pink instead of the usual complexion they were every other time you've seen him. And he suddenly reacted. You jumped when a gloved hand of his slapped over his mouth and his face gained a flustered expression as you just stood there. And your face also heated up-

YOU TWO HAD BLOODY KISSED!!....NO! No. Stay calm. It obviously COULDN'T have been a kiss! Not really. After all he had no intention of ki-ki-kissing you and you probably absolutely had no intention of kissing him of all people really when both of you were clearly just friends! And one could hardly call accidently slamming his face into yours a kiss! It was just because he slipped on the ice too and lost his footing! YEAH! Definitely! So it absolutely was NOT a kiss! Nope!....R-Right? Well he didn't have time to think on that because the Eternatus incident happened. It was such a blur. Such a wreck. Such a painful experience. Quite literally. He just remembered racing to Hammerlocke on Charizard once he got the situation in Wyndon checked and came face to face with pure CHAOS!! The skeletal red and black creature-...This was Eternatus. A creature that lived to destroy until it was sent to the grave by the ancient heroes and then brought back to life by Mr. Rose's evil deeds. The battle was the most painful he'd ever been through. His team one after another was defeated, exhausted, and not able to dynamax until all that was left was himself and his trusty charizard whom was the strongest of all his team. The purple air around them was just full of wind blowing around and pieces of Hammerlocke stadium's roof floating around. It was like a tornado from the underworld! Some of that things moves even hit him, covering him in painful bruises and scratches and even a black eye. Then the worse possibly thing had happened while he had wore the thing down, or so he thought, they showed up. He just remembered hearing footsteps running behind him and snapping his head when a voice rang out.

"LEON!!"

He froze..before snapping his head around him in horror at what he saw. It was Hop. But not just him. Victor and Glora!! No...NO NONONO!! THIS COULDN'T BE HAPPENING!! THEY COULDN'T BE HERE!! IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS!! HE COULDN'T RISK THEM GETTING HURT FOLLOWING HIM!! THEY WERE STRONG BUT NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE THIS MONSTER ON!!

"You came to help me in spite of the danger?! Thanks, Hop. And you two too. You three have really grown tremendously." he gaze turned back at the monster. "But no need for you kids to worry. It seems like some power of Eternatus's was keeping my team from dynamaxing but we've had a champion time all the same. Charizard and the rest of my team have really worn it down. Now if I can simply catch it in a pokeball." He slowly reached for the most powerful pokeball he kept on him. Could he even catch a legendary!? Unlikely, but it was his only chance they had!! "We should be able to get this madness under control. Then everything should be back to normal. Watch! It's gonna be a real champion catch!"

It..didn't go that way at all. The pokeball didn't work. It completely backfired! It broke out of the pokeball and thrown him backwards landing with a giant thud to the ground. Thank goodness Charizard protected the trio on instinct so he knew they were protected from the blast. He was dazed. Head spinning and body numb until his body slowly regained feeling and focus as someone roughly shook him furiously.

"LEON!! *Hic* LEON!! P-Please wake up! P-Please be alright!," a younger male voice called out to him desperately and choking up, begging him to wake up. He was expecting Hop at first but instead was met with Victor crying with tears down his face scared and worried.

He wasn't sure how long he was down but by the time he was able to wake up, Hop and Gloria were in a furious battle with Eternatus along with two other legendaries. Victor had to help him wobble onto his feet and on instinct he had put himself between Victor and the battle going on, Charizard knocked out a few yards away from him. He could only watch in horror as the battle insued. They-...They looked like they were winning! Although no one could've seen what happened next. He was unaware of the danger he and Victor were it.

"LEON LOOK OUT!!"

He had barely turned an inch when something smaller but hard rammed into his chest and again sent him flying back, and in a domino effect he had knocked Victor over as well making the two hit the ground and there was a loud thud behind them as well. Like something fell just beside them.

"VICTOR!!," he cried out in a panic, despite the pain in his body he scrambled up and over to the boy who sat up with a groan rubbing his head, but yelped when Leon's two hands grabbed the side of his head in worry. A panicked look in his gold eyes. "ARE YOU ALRIGHT!? YOU AREN'T HURT ARE YOU!?"

Victor shakily shook his head no lip quivering and body trembling under his hold..Until light brown eyes looked behind him, and Victor froze in his grasp. Leon looked behind him following his gaze. And all at once his world shattered like glass. Tiny pieces falling around them all. There. Yards away from him. Was Y/n. Her body laid there limp as a ragdoll's. Eyes closed clearly indicating you were unconscious. And just a little bit away from you where he and Victor had currently been standing, was a decent sized piece of roof that could have hit them...If Y/n hadn't pushed them both out of the way.

"Y/N!!!"

His voice was loud enough to have been heard over the battle and make both Hop and Gloria look over their shoulders, the howling wind making the agonied voice echo out above even the winds. Gloria SHRIEKED! Hop's jaw dropped and Victor remained frozen where he was sitting on the ground shocked as the Champion scrambled on hands and knees towards her. She couldn't feel the shaking hands that gently turned her face towards him and she definitely couldn't feel the tears form on his face and land on her soft skin one after another.

Leon was crying, shaking. Begging you to silently wake up as he patted your face to no avail.

The battle was won when Eternatus EXPLODED to death in a ball of light and the other two legendaries disappeared. GOOD!! BACK TO THE GRAVE WITH IT FOR ALL HE CARED!! They all must've looked such a sight to Raihan and Mr. Rose. The Hammerlocke gym leader had stayed back to detain Rose so imagine it. Three young children were crying over someone's unconscious body, Leon all scraped and bruised up came hobbling out cradling someone's limp body in his arms. He was crying his eyes out making sure to carefully cradle your head as he wrapped you in his cake. His stomach did summersaults like he never imagined before. He never expected to see you of all people hanging limp in his arms wrapped up in his cape as the hurt champion struggled to take you to safety. Raihan had froze seeing his friend and the children crying and clinging to their big brother as he limped to them, even Mr. Rose standing next to him seemed absolutely speechless at the sight of you. Leon, looking more panicked than Raihan had ever seen him before, looked desperately at Raihan eyes widened and full of fear. Yelled three words at Raihan.

"GET AN AMBULANCE!!"

Raihan didn't hesitate. Leon all but sobbed when his friend took her limp form from his arms, no doubt to take you to help and the look he gave Rose was VERY clear. 'MOVE OR YOU DIE!!' Rose didn't argue or say a word when Raihan carted both him and you off back down the corridors. Leaving his friend to turn around and address another issue at hand.

Gloria's hands were wrapped around one of his as she cried, completely sobbing by this point. Victor was just silent. Not even making a peep, but he still stared off where you disappeared, fat tears rolling down his face. And Hop looked about ready to start sobbing as hard as Gloria was currently doing.

"...it's ok." It was BARELY above a whisper as his hoarse voice was forced out, arms shakily reaching towards them. "...it's g-gonna be alright-" Gloria didn't hesitate to throw herself at him in a hug Hop following suit. Victor had to be gently pulled into him but he didn't fight against it as the three all but sobbed into his arms. And he couldn't help but sob along with them. Rubbing their shoulders, and backs, and arms. They were alive. They were alright. They would be ok. "I-It's ok. B-Big b-brother's here. *sniff* B-Big brother's g-gonna make sure e-everything's o-ok.
