Summary: Jason Todd getting feelings for someone he just met. In a flower shop of course.
Word count: ~2840
A/N: Well, well look who finally posted another piece. I am so sorry. Might be sort of character accurate, might not be - all I know is I'm doing this instead of a speech I'm supposed to be writing. Oops.
Warnings: strong hints of spice

The door had barely creaked open when the bells tied to the entryway alerted you to a new presence. A stifled sneeze made you look up from the bouquet you were cutting, towards a head of curly black hair glowering as he wiped his nose. Keeping him on the edges of your vision, you leaned back down to your flowers as he started to mill about, gently fingering the colorful blooms. After crossing in front of your workspace for what was at least the fourth time you sighed, cleared your throat and spoke. “May I help you?”
The boy spun around, hands in the air, and sauntered over, placing his hands on the counter. “Yes.” He looked at you intently, eyes almost seeming to shift from blue to green and back. “What kind of flowers scream I hate you, and I don’t plan on forgiving or forgetting any time soon?”
You tried to fight a smile as you turned to evaluate your stock, nodding. “Sounds serious. Let’s see what I have here. Ah, petunias, orange lillies, butterfly weed-”
“I’ll take all of them.”
“Do you have an hour?”
The boy looked down at his watch, then up at the flowers, back down, then at you. “Yeah, yeah I got time.”
You hummed in response, already in motion. Choose. Cut. Prepare. Working in near silence, a tinny speaker letting out strains of a somber piano was the only accompaniment. He watched you as ten minutes ticked by before uttering a single word. You had expected him to leave, but you had to admit you appreciated the company.
“How long have you been doing this?” He asked, leaning over the counter.
“Almost four years now. I learned from a older lady in my building when I first moved, and haven’t looked back.”
“Well, your arrangements out front look incredible.”
You looked up, finding him staring at you with something that resembled a smile on his face.
“I'm Jason.”
“[Name].”
Greenery. Focal. Fill. The space filled with silence again, but ever so slowly, over the next forty-five minutes, you found yourself opening up to each other, laughing the most you have in months, telling the safe pieces of your stories, until begrudgingly, it was time to hand off the bouquet. The time, however fleeting, was refreshing. Wrap. Finish.
“Well, here you are.” You pick up the flowers, extending them to Jason, a shy grin on your face as your eyes meet. His fingers brushed your hand, startlingly cold. “I hope whoever’s getting them is properly accursed for their wrongdoing.”
“I’ll make sure to tell my brother that. Just for insurance purposes, I’m going to need your number. Can’t leave you without an update can I?” He grinned cheekily, ripping off a small piece of the bouquet’s wrap paper and slid it across the counter.
With a sigh, you picked up your pen, tapping your chin.
“And collateral, for the allergies,” He whispered.
A small chuckle escaped, and with a flourish, you handed the paper back to him, number, name, and all. “Don’t keep me waiting.”
Almost out the door, bells ringing again, Jason paused, lifting his hand in a wave. “See you tonight!” he called. Before you had a chance to react, he was gone.
It rang through your head the rest of your shift, a reoccurring distraction as you gathered arrangements, watered flowers, and helped customers. A timer rang somewhere in the back, shaking you out of your reverie, a violent reminder to start closing the shop. Finally.
Humid evening air greeted you, clouds parted for the summer evening. The walk home was pleasant for once, the smell of the city no longer trapped in the now-absent layer of grey, the sun’s glow casting a spell on everything it touched. The light framed in your apartment window warmed a spot on the wood floor, and gladly you sunk down, curled into it. The shorter, colder days always came too quickly for your liking. Peace settled into your bones, your eyes growing heavy.
A phone somewhere vibrated. Again. Closer this time. The buzzing danced along the floor til it reached you, waking you up. A hand, your hand, brushed the edge of the vibrating box, yours. Oh. OH. You became alert, fingers scrambling to grab the phone, hoping the call wouldn’t be missed. Unknown number.
“Hello?”
“Hey, this is Jason.”
“Long time, no see.”
“I don’t know if you’re free tonight, but I highly suggest you make it so because I’m inviting you to my favorite dive bar where you can enjoy some live music, my company, and most likely a free drink or two. And if that’s not enough, just know I’m extremely stubborn.” His voice came through tinny, but just enough you could hear the tease in his voice.
A beat passed. You bit your lip. “Okay. Count me in.”
“Great. See you there. Seven.” And with that, he hung up, leaving you once again in silence. Dang. It’s a date.
30 minutes later, you found yourself seated in front of your closet, practically every article of clothing you owned on the floor. By the time you grabbed your keys, you had settled for something slightly more than what you'd usually wear. Your phone buzzed again with an address. It was just a short walk. You weren’t worried. Living in Gotham for almost all your life greatly shifted your classification of dangerous.
The bar was in an older building, dilapidated in a sophisticated sense. You could see the orange glow through the windows, shadows moving about to the light thrum of music. Your nerves stirred in your abdomen, slowly climbing into your throat. Just open the door and step in. Inhale, exhale. In you went. The wood paneled interior gave warmth to the space, various stained glass lights hanging about the space. Booths and few tables decorated the space about the bar, a constant buzz of conversation barely discernible above the live band playing from a corner stage. A saxophone caught your attention, crooning as the drumset hissed in response. Everyone seemed in their own world. Watching the music so closely, you didn't notice the someone coming up behind you until they had placed their hands on your shoulders, bracing as you flinched.
"Hello, [name]," the voice, Jason's, whispered into your ear. A knot forming in your stomach as he barely brushed the back of your hair. Shifting, an arm was slung across your shoulders as he steered you gently towards an empty pair of barstools. Seated, you were able to look him up and down for the first time that night. He had changed, but He looked good. A simple black tee, arms tensed, the rest of his clothes the same.  An appreciative look on his face as he took in what you were wearing.
"So, what'll it be for you two?"
"An old fashioned for me, and for her.."
"Wine. Red, please."
The bartender nodded, drifting to a waving patron, leaving you two staring at the counter. Jason shifted towards you, leaning onto his leg, a conspiratorial gleam in his eye. "Loser of the pool game gets the first round."
So there you were, in a hidden corner away from the din of the bar, lining up your break. It had been awhile since you played a game, and you knew he let you go first to size up his competition. Five, four, three, two, on one you let the cue fly, the chain reaction hitting the triangle of balls into a thousand different directions. A striped ball made its way into the pocket, leaving the cue ball in a compromising position. Huffing, you took a sip of your wine, and leaned, ball ricocheting off the side of the table, knocking into stripes and solids with a clack. His move.
Jason paced around the table until he found an ideal angle, testing his shot, eyes peering through his shaggy hair. With the utmost precision, his target found its way into the same pocket you landed your ball in. Clack, another one off the felt. "What can I say? Beginner's luck."
You bumped him forcefully, rolling your eyes. "In your dreams."
He was always one up on you, an aggravating dance of hope and loss, and the table was looking bare. Focus. A brief moment of consultation opened a possible shot, one you had to take. Practicing with your cue, you stared the no. 13 ball down. Line it up, pull back, and release.. It sailed into the pocket, the cue ball aligned beautifully with another striped one. Jason looked on approvingly as you hit another into the pocket. The eight ball was all that was left. Your cue slipped, scratching the felt, causing you to hit it from the side, barely moving.  Jason's turn.
Jason's smile was burning through your back; you didn't even have to turn around to know he was already celebrating. Or so you thought until he slipped his arms around yours, adjusting your hands until your shot was perfectly positioned. His breath tickled your ear as he said something about your almost victory. He was steady, still as he played the shot through in his mind. You felt him shift, drawing the cue back, and as you both exhaled, the tension released, the ball rolled neatly into the corner, disappearing from view. Nobody dared move, staring at where the white ball remained. Jason's arms seemed to twitch, tightening around you as he whispered, "I owe you a drink."
Nodding was the only command your brain seemed to transmit as you were released from his grasp, his hands retreating, leaving a trail of goosebumps on your skin. He came back, another drink in hand, another smirk on his face. Giving it to you, he gently grabbed your arm with his free hand, leading you toward the band you saw earlier. The space was hazier, the lights dimmer, and it was harder to keep your balance, even ignoring the wine you had already consumed. His grip transferred to your hand as you approached the throng of dancers, pulling you into it, disappearing into the thick of bodies.
Surfacing in the middle of the mass, fresh air was a welcome commodity amongst the sickly-sweet mix of sweat and alcohol. Jason didn't seem to be perturbed, wholly focused on you, the music swelling back into existence. You stared right back at him, the red lighting bouncing off your surroundings, casting a soft glow on his face, transfixed. His hand extended, and once again, he pulled you, this time into a dance.
Back nestled into his chest, your hand was around his, resting on your hip, his fingers barely brushing under your shirt. A compromising position, but oh, it felt so good. The buzz was starting to hit you, and it heightened everything. Swaying, you fell into rhythm amongst the others around you, a steady pulse from the bass seemingly keeping time to your pounding heart, trying to ignore how he pressed into you, lips floating over your shoulder, the crowd moving around you.
Jason seemed to respond immediately to your growing tenseness, his hands hovering over your skin, forehead leaning into the back of your skull. The song ends right on cue, and in the resulting silence to applause, he turned you around, looking directly into your soul. His tone dips softly as a new riff fills the air. “Are you okay?”
A beat passed, and you finally found the courage to return his gaze. “Yeah- I just needed a moment.” Breathing deep, gathering a smile, normalcy returns. You tugged him into a spin, and in response, he dipped you, a squeal escaping from your throat.
The hours passed in a liquid haze, the end dancing closer and closer, until finally, you stumbled onto the street, the cool air shocking sobriety into your system. A glance was shared through the neon haze, another look, nothing was said, but a conversation, a dialogue, deeper than either of you were aware, had just begun.
Fingers slipped through yours, drawing you in a direction you didn’t want to go. Your place was closer. Your place was safer. Let’s go there. A gentle pull from you was all that was needed, and there you stood, in front of your door. No memory was formed of entering the building, standing in the elevator, walking down the hall, but none was needed. He was here, in front of you, and that was all that mattered; the quiet want in his eyes as he crept closer and closer, the struggle with the door handle as he pressed his lips to yours, the tumble into the entryway as the door gave, and the catch as his hands stabilized your bodies against the nearest wall.
The hunger built, space was no longer a concept. One of you ended where the other began, feeding into each other, caresses turning to grabs, mumbles turning into gasps, never staying in one place for long. The agony, the ecstasy of it all. A single thought lingered, questioning the sanity of this decision, but you pushed it back, trapped it in a box, and simply gave in.
Coming up for air, chests heaving, you had tucked into Jason’s arm, oblivious as he slowly surveyed your apartment, taking in the 400 foot studio you called home, warm light filling every inch of the space from a corner lamp, a portable chess set on a nearby table. It wasn’t much, but he could tell you had poured your heart into making it comfortable, safe. It was an abrupt, welcome change of scene from what the man laying beside you knew. This could be his safe place.
Your breath evened out, and he just listened, occasionally shifting his gaze to your figure, back to the ceiling, reaching out to trace a path down your sheets. With his heart keeping steady, with the rhythm of your inhales, he felt his eyes growing heavy for the first time in a long, long time.
Jason shot upright, head pounding, struggling to focus in on the unfamiliar room around him. Oh. His eyes shot to where you lay, peaceful and still, relieved the outburst was ineffective. What am I doing here? Shifting to the edge of the bed, he ran his hands through his hair, exhaling firmly, forcing himself to reprocess the events of yesterday. Maybe he was flirting with this girl, maybe he saw a friend, but all Jason knew was he didn’t know what he needed. Not a relationship. Anything, anything, but that. He dared to look back at you again. You would hurt and suffer for his actions, and that would be irreparable.
With practiced stealth, he picked up his scattered clothes and slipped them on, not daring to use the bathroom, minimizing his presence. He hoped you would forgive him. Then forget. That was best. Cramming on his shoes, he took one last look at the space he would think about for many more nights in the next sequence of life and quietly closed the door behind him.
The boy’s mind was already whirring, solving the next problem before it could happen. The entire house would ride his ass for this. He was sure he looked ridiculous, for sure jogging back to his car. And running up his front steps. And trying to inconspicuously unlock the side door. He was halfway to his room when-
“Jason!”
As slow as humanly possible, he turned around, peering over the stair rail at a one, very interested Dick Grayson.
“Dude, did you actually hang out with a girl? Wait ‘til Bruce gets a load of this.”
Before Dick could take another step, Jason was flying down the stairs, grabbing his shoulders, staring him dead in the eyes. “Do not mention this to anybody. I know where you sleep.”
“Master Jason, you’re home-” Alfred stops in his tracks, analyzing the situation before him, deciding a simple nod and a dismissive bow would be sufficient for pretending he never set eyes on the situation in the first place.
Waiting until Alfred finished rounding the corner, Jason finally let go of his brother, firmly dusting Dick’s shoulders. “Sorry.”
Dick sighed, looking at him suspiciously. “I won’t let it slip if you tell me the details of your outing. Scout’s honor.”
“That’s– illegitimate. You? A boy scout?”
“Ha, ha. Very funny. Okay, I’ve changed my terms. Just make me a sandwich.”
“Fine.”
Dinner that night proceeded to be filled with Dick offhandedly chuckling to himself while everyone just offered questioning looks at Jason, afraid to ask. The scraping of cutlery was the only noise in the dining room, as he ignored them, stuffing another bite of chicken into his mouth. Every so often, a lighthearted comment was exchanged, but his heart wasn’t in it. All he kept coming back to was you as he stared at the bouquet on the table. His mind had convinced himself you would be fine, but his heart was telling him otherwise.
He knew he had to see you again.

Call My Name Masterlist
---
The nerves were racking you and you can't help but feel guilty about your actions.
Your darling boyfriend Charles seems to notice your nerves, but chalked it up to nothing more than nerves over your upcoming exams. It was more than that; it was the fact that you had left him with a good intention of going home and somehow ended up in the bed of his teammate.
There's a bit of a break between the races in Monaco and Monza, you and Charles spent the majority of the break in Monaco, relaxing and unwinding - at least Charles was.
It's eating away at you, swallowing you whole every time you look at your boyfriend. You felt guilty just thinking about Carlos, let alone when Charles brings him up - you push away the thoughts, shutting the conversation down.
You love Charles or at least that's what you keep telling yourself.
Forcing yourself to think that you were in love with him and in some ways you were, but you knew that it was never going to be the same way it was with Carlos.
Now, if it was love you felt for Carlos? You weren't sure.
All you knew was that Charles never - in the 7 months you've been together - ever made you feel the way that Carlos did.
Days to Monza turned into hours and into seconds; now, there you are, at the home of Ferrari with your boyfriend. You find yourself, surrounded by Charles and Carlos, their faces plastered everywhere, the crowds chanting their names; you can't escape either of them.
It wasn't Charles you wanted to escape, but Carlos.
He was everywhere you didn't want him to be.
It was easy to pretend with Charles after a while. You ignored everything Carlos related, you and Charles lived in a harmonious little bubble without a thing in the world to bother you. Now that you've left, it was hard - so hard. Every single second you had a gut wrenching feeling that you'd be caught. That someone, somewhere, would know what you and Carlos did in Monaco.
They'd find out that you weren't a loving girlfriend but instead a cheating slut.
While you were battling your moral conscience every day, Carlos seemed perfectly fine.
You never understood how he managed to go on with his days as if you two hadn't done anything wrong. It was wrong, so fucking wrong but god, did it feel good. The guilt was eating you alive, you needed to talk to Carlos - you didn't need to be around him, you really should stay away but you needed to get this off your chest.
Charles was in the media pen and you had maybe half an hour before he came back. So you took that as your chance to go speak to his teammate.
Finding your way to his driver's room, you knock on the door. You were expecting Carlos, not Rupert. "Hey, y/n." The ginger smiles, "everything okay ?"
Rupert wasn't expecting you, his brows furrowed as he sees you peek behind him. "Is Carlos here? I uh.. I need to speak to him."
"He had to grab something from his car, he'll be back in a few."
"Oh," you nod, "I'll come back."
"No no, that's okay. You can come in and wait for him, he'll be back in a few and I have to go prep his stuff for quali anyways."
"You're sure?" You asked, hesitantly stepping into the room.
"Absolutely," Rupert steps to the side, letting you make yourself comfortable before shutting the door behind him as he leaves.
You sit by yourself for a while, taking in the surroundings. You had never actually been in his driver's room - you had no reason to be in there. There's a Spain flag hanging on the wall, a few family photos here and there, a terrifying comparison photo of him and his father; something of nightmares but to each their own. The pillow behind you had the Spain flag printed on it, your finger traced over the patterns when the door opens.
"You're not Rupert," the voice calls, shutting the door behind them. Setting the pillow down, you look up to see Carlos. "Would you like me to call him back?" You asked, standing up before you fixed the pillow.
Carlos smiled, shaking his head. "No."
"And why not?"
"Rupert won't kiss me the way you do," he admits, making you roll your eyes. As much as you wanted to scream and fight, he was so charming and you couldn't help the smile on your face.
"If you paid him enough, I'm sure he'd probably kiss you."
Carlos took a step towards you, his hand resting on your lower back. "Still won't be as good as you."
You give him a soft shove, creating some space between the two of you. "Do you not feel guilty, Carlos?"
"Guilty?" His brows furrow, the faintest of head tilts as he looks at you. "What for?"
You scoff; you're not sure if you're more mad at yourself or at him for not knowing what you meant. "Monaco." You say quietly, eyes fixed on him.
Carlos shrugs, sitting on the little couch in his room. You turn to face the man, his eyes wandering up and down your body. "Stop that." You say, rolling your eyes yet again.
"Need I remind you that I'm not the one in a relationship?" His arms crossed as he looked at you.
"So it's all on me?"
He hums, shrugging. "Could have walked out that night, y/n. You didn't have to stay and you definitely didn't have to do that thing with your-"
"Stop." You cut him off, pointing a finger at him. Carlos smirks, pursing his lips as he clears his throat.
"You texted me, you kissed me, Carlos."
"You didn't have to come, y/n. You didn't have to kiss me back, I wasn't holding you hostage."
"Might as well have been."
"Oh please, you loved it." He smiles, raising his eyebrows. You scoff, unable to believe the nonsense you were hearing from the man. "Fuck you, Carlos."
He leans back, his arms behind his head. "You sure did, y/n."
You groan, unsure if you wanted to punch him, strangle him or suffocate him with his stupid Spain throw pillow but instead, chose to walk out of his room; just as you did, you bump into one person that shouldn't have seen you up there.
"You okay, babe?" Charles's hands rest on your arms, steadying you after you bump into him. You smile, nodding. "I was just coming to look for you."
He notices Carlos's door open, the Spanish driver watching the two of you. "What were you looking for me for?" Charles asks, his arm over your shoulder as his glance moves from his teammate back to you.
"My sunglasses are in your room." You smiled, leaning into your boyfriend.
"Were you just with Carlos?" Charles asks, curiosity getting the best of him. You nod, "I just walked up with him, I was waiting for you to come up so we were just chatting."
"Yeah," Carlos pipes up from his room, smiling at the couple; y/n's a quick thinker, he thinks to himself - that'll come in handy.
You look at Carlos, the man locking eyes with you and you look away but his eyes stay fixed on you. Something about the way he looked at you rubbed Charles the wrong way and being the good boyfriend he was, notices the uncomfortableness of the situation.
"Did you get your sunglasses, love?" He asks, walking you towards his driver's room. "No, the door was locked." You tell him, "Andrea must have locked it."
Charles nods, towards his door before unlocking it for you. "Go on," he lets you walk in, shutting the door behind you two.
The two drivers' rooms shared a wall between them, everything could be heard, there was essentially no privacy when it came to them. Carlos could hear when Charles asked if you were okay. You tell him you're fine, Carlos is certain you've got your signature reassuring smile on your face as you tell him you're okay.
He hears the door open and shut again, the footsteps approaching his driver's room. It's Charles, "meeting starts in 15 in the garage," his teammate tells him, leaning on the doorframe.
Carlos nods, glancing at the woman behind him. "I'll be there."
The Monegasque driver nods, reaching for his girlfriend's hand, the two of you interlocking fingers as you make your way to the stairs. Carlos gets up, walking over to the doorway and leaning on the doorframe as he watches you make your way down; red skirt bouncing with each step, your sunglasses pushed into your hair - no one would ever think that you were anything other than Charles' loving girlfriend.
Carlos knew you were so much more than that.
---
No matter how much you tried, how you tossed and turned, sleep would not come. Charles was already in dreamland, his arm over your waist as he snored quietly.
Usually, it'd put you to sleep - even if you did find it annoying at first but now, it's a reminder of your constant guilt.
Unable to sleep, you find yourself getting out of bed. The stirring wakes Charles and the man sitting up as you put your slippers on.
"Where are you going?" He asks, rubbing his eyes.
"For a walk. I have a headache so I just want some fresh air." You turn to face him and he nods. "Do you want some company?"
You smile but shake your head, "it's okay, babe. Stay and sleep, I'll be back in 20 minutes."
Charles smiles, laying back down. "Be safe," he mumbles, eyes already closed. His hand reached out for you, something he did when you left before he did - the different time zones he travelled through often left him in bed for longer than you.
You hold it, walking around the bed to his side and leaning down. Charles opens his eyes for a moment, his free hand cupping your jaw as he smiles sleepily at you.
"You're sure you'll be okay?"
You nod, "I'll be back before you know it." The man smiles, pulling you down slightly to give you a kiss. As horrible as it was, the thought crossed your mind; it didn't feel the same as Carlos. The passion wasn't there.
You pick up your room key, stepping out of the room and shutting the door behind you quietly. You took the stairs, making your way outside through a back door.
You end up by the pool and you're certain no one was going to be out there, it's nearly 2am.
Much to your surprise, there was someone there.
You can't see the person just yet but you can see the figure in the pool, the outline of their body. As you walk closer to the edge, the person comes up to the surface, causing you to freeze in your tracks.
Carlos.
"Seems you keep finding me," he says, floating around.
You shrug, "just needed some fresh air, what are you doing up? Should you be getting your beauty sleep for the race tomorrow ?"
"Swimming helps me relax; Rupert is sleeping and the gym is closed so here I am." Carlos tells you, watching as you left your slippers by the table, walking over barefoot and sitting at the edge of the pool. Your legs hung down into the cold water, your face twisting in momentary displeasure before you relaxed slightly.
You always seem to be on edge these days.
He swims up to the edge, leaning on it. His tanned arms rest over the edge, water dripping off his muscles as he looks over at you. "I don't feel guilty." He says.
"I do."
"You shouldn't." He whispers and your brows furrow. "Charles isn't that great of a boyfriend."
You scoff, unable to believe his audacity. "How could you even say that?"
"If he was such a great boyfriend, if he really knew you; he'd realize something was off by now and considering that you two are still happily in love, he hadn't put two and two together."
It takes you a minute to gather your thoughts; unsure if you should drown him or cuss him out but you bite your tongue and hold back the urge to drown him.
You get up, pulling yourself up from the pool. "I think I'll be going back to bed."
Carlos nods, getting out of the pool himself. You had brushed the water from your legs, putting your slippers back on.
Just as you go to walk away, Carlos grabs your hand. "You shouldn't feel guilty about something that feels right."
Again, you don't answer the man but pull your hand away instead.
"You know exactly what I mean, y/n." He calls out to you as you walk away, you stop to look back at him before you walk into the hotel, half minded to turn the lock on the door and leave him outside.
Once again, you find yourself on the stairs, walking up to the 15th floor. You stop by your room door, feeling your pockets for the key as you catch your breath.
The lock clicks when you slide the key into the slot.
Charles had his back to the door, you set your key down and took your slippers off as you made your way to bed. He feels the mattress dip as you get into bed, his arms wrapping around you before pulling you into him.
You settle into his chest, the tip of his nose brushes against your ear. His brows furrow, the man half asleep when he asks, "why do you smell like that?"
"What?" You look at him, "smell like what? I showered, you know."
He chuckles, "no, like.. the pool, chlorine."
"Oh," the image of Carlos shirtless and wet crosses your mind and you push the thought away. "Ended up by the pool when I went for my walk. There were some teenagers splashing around."
"So late?"
"Yeah," you shrugged, "I can change if you want-" "Just stay," he whispers, arms tightening around you.
The room falls quiet, Charles is snoring again and you pray that sleep comes as you close your eyes for the second time that night.

spaces between us - christian pulisic
summary: Y/N and Christian's relationships has been strained lately due to conflicting schedules and minimal effort to spend time with one another. Y/N's plan to talk to Christian about it goes awry and drives the couple further apart from each other.
pairing: Christian Pulisic x reader
word count: 5.3k
warnings/tags: angst and arguing (but it turns out okay in the end don't worry), Christian is a little bit of a dick, Y/N is a little bit overdramatic, but also sickening fluff, Christian is a lovesick twat, use of the phrase "whooping and hollering" (I'm sorry, I'm painfully American), hasty proofreading (because I’m posting this at 3 am and I have classes tomorrow morning), and like one suggestive comment
requested: yes!!!
notes: thank you so so much to @chelseagirl98 for sending this request in!! I had so much fun writing it, and I hope it lives up to your expectation! I tried a little something new with the text messages, so let me know what you think of that! Also, I think this is my first time writing a fight/make-up fic like this, so it might not be very good, but I welcome any constructive criticism! :)
As always, requests are still open! Send any ideas my way! 💙
Tumblr media
You moved quickly around the kitchen, juggling bowls and ingredients as you did your best to prepare a homecooked meal to surprise Christian with when he got home from training. It wasn’t anything all that special, and you weren’t a five-star chef by any means, but you were trying your hardest—and that had to count for something, right?
For the last several weeks, you had sensed a distance forming between you and Christian. With his busy life as a footballer and your inconsistent work hours, it had been difficult to find time to see one another. On the rarer days that you were home together in the evening, you were both exhausted, quickly finding something to eat (often some takeout delivery that you ordered online) before setting things in order and going straight to bed. You couldn’t remember the last time you and Christian had just sat down to spend time together, sharing a conversation with any amount of substance.
After a particularly bitter morning where the two of you had moved around each other in the kitchen and bathroom without sharing a word or interacting almost at all, you had miraculously gotten out of work early. Deciding that enough was enough, you ran to the store to pick up some ingredients, resolving to cook a nice meal that you and Christian could sit down and eat together. You hoped it would give you a chance to catch up after the last few weeks of simply living in the same house but not truly being together.
It took you about an hour, but you completed the recipe successfully. As you turned off the burner on the stove and began dishing the food onto plates, you heard the jingle of Christian’s keys as he walked through the front door.
“Babe?” you called out. You listened for his footsteps as they rounded the corner into the kitchen. He was looking down as he came into your view, eyes locked on something on his phone screen. “Hey,” you addressed him uncertainly, wiping your forehead from the heat that had built up in the kitchen from the hour you had spent cooking. Your voice cause his head to snap up to look at you.
“Hey, babe,” he smiled, glancing back at his phone quickly before he turned it off and shoved it in his pocket. He walked around the kitchen island and pulled you into his side, kissing the top of your head. “What’s all this?”
You couldn’t help but feel a little bit disappointed, hoping for a little more than a side-hug and a kiss on the head from your boyfriend after not seeing him all day. You tried to brush the feeling off.
“I made dinner!” you replied, a hopeful tone to your voice. You pulled from his side to grab his plate, handing it to him.
“Oh thank goodness,” he took a whiff of the food before walking to the other side of the kitchen island, sitting down in one of the tall chairs. He mumbled a quick, “thanks so much, babe,” before he began devouring the food swiftly.
Again, you tried to brush off the weird feeling that washed over you. You knew he must be hungry after a long day of training—they had even gone a bit late today. You tried to focus on the short expression of gratitude instead as you picked up your own plate, choosing to stand across from him, leaning on the countertop so you could face him while you ate.
The two of you remained there in silence, him scarfing down the food like it was his last meal while you just moved the food around the plate as you stared at it, still feeling uneasy.
You opened your mouth to ask about how training had gone that day, hoping to spark a conversation between the two of you, but movement from the other side of the counter caught you off-guard before you could speak. Having cleaned his plate already, Christian stood from his chair, stepping around it before he pushed it in. He moved to the sink, dropping the empty plate in. He walked behind you, pressing a quick kiss to your temple.
“It was really good, babe. Thank you.” He walked behind you, pressing a quick kiss to your temple. “I’m gonna head up to shower.” He stepped to walk out of the kitchen and down the hallway.
“Are you serious, Christian?” You felt the anger finally spilling over in your chest, the heat rising up your neck an into your face. You were beyond frustrated that all of the effort you had gone to had lasted in a five-minute shared silence before he rushed upstairs to shower and go to bed.
Christian turned back around to face you, eyes wide with confusion. You could see him obliviously wracking his brain for what he had done wrong.
“I’m sorry, I can wash my plate,” he spoke quickly as he took two steps back toward the sink before you stopped him with a hand on his chest.
“It’s not about the stupid plate, Christian.” You rolled your eyes at him, and he took a step back from you, surprised by the anger you were displaying. “I went to all this trouble to go get the ingredients and spent all this time to make a home-cooked meal, and all I get is five minutes and ‘it was good, thank you’?”
Christian’s eyes were still wide, taken aback by your reaction. “I’m sorry, it was a really long day. I’m just pretty tired.” The way he said the words made them seem like more of a question.
“You’re always ‘tired’, Christian!” You put air quotes around the word, feeling yourself get more and more worked up about the situation. You felt like now that you were finally voicing your frustrations, all of the emotions were starting to spill over. “You’ve barely spoken to me in weeks! We never see each other anymore, and I’m sick of living in the same house as my boyfriend, but never seeing him!” You began raising your voice without meaning to and you felt your eyes burning with tears. You mentally cursed yourself for crying so easily when you were angry.
“Y/N, I-“
Sensing another excuse coming on, you cut him off. “You didn’t even kiss me goodbye this morning!”
Interrupting Christian and not allowing him to explain himself was a sure way to irritate him, and it immediately put him on the defensive.
“Well, you didn’t kiss me before I left either!” He knew it was a weak defense, but in his frustration, it was the only thing he could come up with. “I’m not the only one in this relationship, Y/N! You could afford to put in a little effort once in a while, instead of just pointing fingers.”
Your mouth fell open in shock at his words, and Christian instantly wished he could take them back, not having meant them at all. “You are unbelievable, Christian. Unbelievable.” You scowled, pushing past him to walk out of the kitchen.
He grabbed your wrist to keep you from walking away, and you shook your head, pulling your arm from his grasp. “No, stop. Come talk to me when you’re ready to act like a half-decent boyfriend.”
You stormed down the hallway to your shared bedroom, slamming the door to the bathroom closed and locking it in case Christian tried to follow you and take back what he had said. Moments later, you heard the doorknob jiggle softly, confirming your prediction.
You felt the tears rolling down your cheeks as you glumly went through your nighttime routine, brushing your teeth, combing out your hair, and washing your face. You tried to ignore your red and swollen eyes from crying as you looked in the mirror.
Once you had finished, you unlocked the door and walked into the bedroom. You did your best to ignore Christian sitting silently on the side of the bed as you walked over to the closet and changed quickly into your pajamas from the night before, scoffing quietly as you realized that it just entailed one of his bigger T-shirts. Nonetheless, you slipped it over your head and flipped the closet light off, closing the door behind you as you exited.
Without a word, you walked to your side of the bed, pulling the sheets and comforter back, crawling in, and covering yourself up, facing away from Christian.
His heart had broken at the sight of your tear-streaked face before you had climbed into the bed. He knew that it was probably best to give you some space for now, so he stood to collect his things and go take his shower. You didn’t miss the soft sigh that left his lips before he stood.
You heard the sound of the bathroom door closing, then the rush of water as he turned the shower on.
You finally allowed yourself to let go, crying out all of the hurt that had built up over the last several weeks. You felt the pain physically in your heart, a hollow feeling in your chest—you were a part of a whole, missing your other half.
It didn’t take long for Christian to finish his shower, and you heard the water turn off. You tried to calm yourself before he left the bathroom, not wanting him to see you in such a weak state after your fight.
A few minutes later, you heard the sound of the bathroom door opening and Christian moving around the room. You did your best to silence your sniffles, but he still heard them, and he felt the painful cracks in his heart tearing open a little further.
You felt the mattress dip behind you as his weight settled into the bed. His arm appeared in front of your body for a moment and you felt him leaning over you to place a soft kiss on your temple.
“Goodnight,” he whispered softly. “I’m sorry. I love you.”
“I love you, too,” you mumbled. As petty as you wanted to be, you knew you wouldn’t be able to sleep if you didn’t say it back to him.
His weight settled into the bed behind you, not daring to pull you into his arms. The light in the room disappeared with the click of the lamp turning off, and the two of you lay there in silence.
A thousand thoughts were running through both of your heads, but you remained on your side with your back turned to him. You wrapped your arms around your torso, attempting to hold yourself for some sort of comfort against the foreign feeling of falling asleep without being tucked into Christian’s side.
*****
Since it was the weekend, the sun was already peeking through the curtains when you awoke. By instinct, you rolled over, reaching toward the other side of the bed, but your hand only landed on the cold, empty sheets. You snapped your eyes open, finding no sign of Christian’s presence, and the memories of your argument from the night before flooded your mind.
You let out a long, frustrated groan, pressing your face further into the pillow. The uneasy feeling that you always had when you and Christian fought settled in your chest, and you spend a few moments staring at the wall, allowing yourself to give in to the self-pity for a moment before getting up to face the difficult situation.
A buzzing sound coming from your bedside table pulled you from your thoughts, and you rolled back over, lazily grabbing your phone from where it was charging. As the screen lit up, you saw that you had a text from Mason.
Tumblr media
You dropped your head back on the pillow for a moment with a sigh. Fighting like this wasn’t doing either of you any good—you both knew it, but this was the main problem you two seemed to face. You didn’t fight often, but when you did, you both struggled to get over your own pride and make it up to each other.
Tumblr media
You sent the message and threw the sheets off of your legs, deciding to make yourself a cup of coffee and try to wake up. The tiles of the kitchen floor were cold on your bare feet as you walked across them.
You placed your mug under the coffee maker and started it, leaning against the counter. The cold marble touched your back through the thin material of your—well, Christian’s—shirt and the feeling sent a shiver through your body. You tucked your arms around your stomach, trying to find some sense of warmth and comfort in the otherwise bitter morning.
As your thoughts wandered, you found yourself missing the mornings that you and Christian had previously shared in this very kitchen. Lately, you had barely interacted as you moved around each other, making your coffee and packing lunches, barely mumbling a few words to one another. But before all of that, when you had first moved in together, you couldn't get enough of each other in the mornings. You would always find yourself in his arms, standing between his legs as he leaned against the counter. His large hands would run up and down your sides, sometimes finding their way under his shirt that you wore to stroke the bare skin of your back gently. You would nuzzle your face into his neck, inhaling his scent while he pressed a kiss into your hair. The only audible noise was the coffee maker and the steady drip of coffee into the mug as the two of you waited for it to finish brewing. It was the perfect start to every day, and frequently you found yourself getting out of bed earlier than you needed to just so you would have more time to waste, wrapped in Christian’s arms. Even on your days off, when he would still have training, you would get up with him so you could share those brief moments together before he left for the day and you crawled back into bed.
You snapped back to reality, shaking your head to rid it of the daydream you had nearly gotten lost in. The lights seemed to be more dull now that you were left standing in the kitchen on your own, no lover to hold you close and share his warmth.
You rubbed your hands over your arms, attempting to rid them of the goosebumps that has risen up. Your phone lit up with another notification.
Tumblr media
Your eyebrows knitted together in confusion for a moment. It was then that you remembered—Chelsea had a game today. You sighed, rubbing your hands over your face in frustration with yourself—the game had completely slipped your mind.
Clearly, you weren’t completely innocent in the fact that you and Christian hadn’t been spending time together recently.
You grabbed the finished cup of coffee, pouring a bit of creamer in it before you hurried back up to your bedroom to get changed.
Tumblr media
You turned the phone’s screen off, tossing it onto your bathroom counter before turning on your shower and stepping in. You tried to move as quickly as possible, hoping to make it to the stadium and set things right before the game began. You knew that Christian didn’t play as well when he was upset, and the last thing you wanted was to be the reason Chelsea’s golden American had a poor performance.
Plus, you selfishly just wanted to be rid of the empty feeling that came with any separation between you and Christian.
When you stepped out of the shower and onto the soft mat, having completely rinsed off, the room was stuffy and the steam had fogged up the mirror. When you checked your phone again, Mason had texted you several minutes before, right after you had jumped in the shower.
Tumblr media
You finished getting ready in record time, running out of the front door with your hair still slightly damp, and you prayed that no one noticed how hastily your makeup had been done. You tapped your fingers nervously on the steering wheel as you drove toward Stamford Bridge, the minutes creeping closer and closer to the time for kickoff as you sat in the London traffic.
When you finally arrived, you rushed to the private entrance, sending Mason a short text as you walked to let him know that you had arrived. The face that greeted you was not Mason’s, but one of the security staff that you recognized from your many trips to the Bridge over the last couple of years. He greeted you with a warm smile, explaining that Mason had sent him to fetch you since they were already beginning to leave the changing room and line up for the tunnel walk when he had gotten your text.
The security guard led you through the winding halls of the stadium and up to the box where the family and friends of the team would sit together. You found your way into an empty seat next to Sophia, Kai’s girlfriend, and she greeted you with a warm welcome and a quick embrace.
When you turned your eyes to the pitch, your heart sank as you realized the players were already standing on the field, in position and awaiting the starting whistle. You realized you would have no chance to try to wave to Christian to get his attention before the game started. Unless Mason had told him, he likely didn’t have a clue you were even in the stadium.
You were, however, thankful to see that Christian had still made the starting lineup, despite his run-in with Potter earlier in the morning. But as the whistle sounded out and the boys began moving around the pitch, it quickly became clear that he wasn’t playing up to his usual standard. He seemed to be two steps behind on every play, making sloppy touches that would give possession to the defender. He was in his own head, and it was affecting every move he made on the field.
Sophia and you didn’t talk much through the first half. She knew how intensely you typically watched the matches, but she noticed how quiet you were compared to the lively and rambunctious cheering you usually brought on game day.
When the whistle blew to signal the end of the half, Chelsea was trailing, 1-0. With Christian on the front line unable to focus enough to make a proper play, the entire offense struggled to create opportunities, and the whole team seemed to be lagging.
You watched as Christian walked sullenly toward the tunnel, head hung low. You knew he was frustrated with himself for his performance so far in the game, and you resented the part you had to play in that.
Sophia, noticing the solemn way you looked at your boyfriend, knew that something was off. She draped her arm over the back of your seat, asking you about your somber mood as soon as your attention had shifted away from Christian since he had disappeared down the tunnel. You sighed and began recounting the former night’s event to her in a quiet voice, hoping none of the other family members in the box were listening in. You told her about how Christian had come home, barely eating the dinner you had prepared before trying to leave the kitchen. You told her about the foolish words you had both let fly out of frustration, stupid accusations that neither of you meant. You told her how you were afraid that you and Christian had lost your “spark,” that feeling of never wanting to let the other go that every couple felt when they first got together. You told her that you were afraid that you didn’t know how to get it back.
You hadn’t even realized you were crying until a teardrop splashed on your hand. You used your fingers to wipe carefully under your eyes, trying not to smear the makeup you had hastily put on only a couple of hours before.
Sophia opened her mouth to address your concerns when something caught her eye over your shoulder. You turned to see that the boys were walking out of the tunnel, and you waited impatiently to try to catch a glimpse of Christian.
When he finally emerged, Mason’s arm was slung over his shoulders, holding him close as Mason seemed to be trying to give him words of encouragement. His head was still hung low. Mason squeezed his arm around Christian, turning him to face the stands once they were standing on the pitch, and pointed in your direction. A frown creased his eyebrows as his eyes followed where Mason’s finger was pointing.
When his eyes landed on you, his face softened immediately, the frown vanishing from his expression. His eyes grew big, his arms falling to his sides as he took you in, wearing the blue jersey that he knew bore his name across the shoulders. Mason ruffled his hair with a grin, walking away to let him have his moment, but Christian didn’t pay him any mind, only focused on you.
You raised your hand, giving Christian a shy wave. The faintest of smiles curled his lips, tainted with a hint of sadness. He brought his fingers to his lips, blowing you a short kiss before he moved further onto the pitch. He walked backward for a few steps, still looking at you before he turned and jogged to his starting position for the second half.
Sophia drew the arm that had been draped over the back of your chair back to her side, nudging you gently. She had a grin on her face when you looked over. “Yeah, that spark is still there. Don’t worry,” she reassured. You covered your face with your hand, trying to hide the blush that you knew was covering your cheeks. “You’ve just hit a rough patch. It happens to every couple, especially after you’ve been living together for a while.”
“Really?” you asked hopefully.
“Really,” she smiled. “It happened with Kai and I, too. A few months after he transferred to Chelsea and we moved to London, there was about a month where we barely ever saw each other. It took a screaming match and then us both crying on the floor of the kitchen with a bottle of wine for us to get past it.” The two of you laughed at the story, and you wiped another tear from your face. “But we were stronger after we got through it. And you and Christian will be too, I know it.”
She took your hand in hers and squeezed in an effort to comfort you. “Just remember to be intentional about spending time together. Life will get crazy from time to time, but if you keep pursuing each other, you’ll be okay.”
“Thank you, Sophia,” you smiled genuinely at her. “You really give the best advice.”
“Don’t mention it.” She pulled you into a side hug, over the arm of the stadium seats. As you pulled away from each other, the sound of the whistle rang through the air, and the second half was under way. You took in a big breath, letting it out slowly and praying silently that this 45’ would go better than the first had.
In a matter of minutes, it was clear that Christian was a completely different player than he had been in the first half. He was positioning himself well to make runs, taking much more controlled and calculated touches, and beating his opponents to the ball. Chelsea had made several great plays, pressing up the field and creating several breaks that resulted in near-goals. The whole stadium seemed to be holding its breath, hoping that it was only a matter of time before one of the presses ended with the ball in the net.
It finally happened in the 54th minute. With renewed fervor, the back line moved the ball around the defensive half before Thiago played the ball up the field toward the left wing. Christian broke through the opposing defense, carrying the ball up the line with players right on his heels. With quick feet, he came up to the side of the penalty box, crossing the ball toward the center.
A hush fell over the crowd as the ball floated through the air, toward a mess of players from both teams in the box. You and Sophia leaped to your feet, along with the rest of the audience, watching as the ball landed at Kai’s feet. With a quick touch to settle it, he shot the ball through the maze of defenders into the top corner of the goal. The keeper’s fingers just missed the ball, and the entire stadium erupted in a roar of cheering as the net shook with the ball’s impact.
Kai ran towards the sideline, embracing Christian in celebration, much the same way that you and Sophia clung to one another, jumping up and down as you yelled and cheered.
As the game resumed, Chelsea seemed to have hit their second wind, the game-tying goal driving them in their desire to get another. Several chances were created in the following minutes, the crowd letting out groans at the barely-missed shots that held the potential to propel Chelsea into the lead.
You were starting to get nervous as the game approached it’s last 10 minutes, not wanting the game to end in a draw after Chelsea’s incredible turn-around. You anxiously bit at the skin around your fingernails as you watched.
In the 86th minute, as fans from both sides were beginning to get restless, Reece played a quick ball through the line, Christian sprinting to catch up with it as he broke through the defense and drove quickly down the field. It was a one-on-one between him and the keeper now. He approached the penalty box swiftly as the keeper came out to meet him, trying to force a mistake. But Christian kept his head about him, taking a calculated touch to curve the ball around to the right of the keeper as he dropped to the ground in an attempt to block the shot.
The ball bounced off of the goalpost and across the line. Once again, the fans erupted in a chorus of applause and shouting. Christian sprinted back up the field, coming to stand at the sideline in front of where he knew you were sitting. The rest of the Chelsea boys ran up behind him, embracing him or ruffling his hair in congratulations. Ignoring all of the chaos around him as his teammates whooped and hollered, Christian locked eyes with you, tapping his hand over his heart.
You raised your fist to your lips, pinky pointed up as you kissed your hand. Christian mimicked your action. It was a silly thing the two of you did that had started back when you were still only friends and continued throughout your relationship. You would link your fingers together in a pinky promise, kissing your hands, as a reminder of the promise you made to always be there for each other.
The boys pulled Christian away from the sideline, still thumping him on the back as they yelled in celebration.
The last minutes of the game passed quickly, and Chelsea fans voiced their approval as the final whistle blew, signaling the game’s end in a 2-1 victory for the Blues. The players and staff for both teams made their way onto the pitch, shaking hands cordially, offering words of congratulations to one another, and embracing their own players. You and Sophia moved down toward the barrier that separated the seats from the field, waiting where the boys would usually come to greet their loved ones.
It didn’t take long for Kai to come running over, leaning up to bring Sophia into a sweet kiss. They smiled at each other, sharing quiet words as she congratulated him on his goal. You saw nothing but adoration in their eyes as they looked at one another, and the sight warmed your heart.
Kai looked over to you after a few moments. “Your lover boy will be over here any minute,” he laughed. “As soon as he can get all the guys to stop hounding him for his game-winning goal.” You giggled at his words, eyes still searching through the mass of people for him.
Christian finally emerged, pushing through the crowd in your direction. As soon as he set his eyes on you, he ran the last few yards, arms outstretched to pull you into an embrace. Not caring about the layer of sweat that covered his body, you leaned over the short barrier, wrapping your arms around his neck as your bodies finally met.
Unsatisfied with the space left between you, Christian carefully pulled you over the barrier separating the two of you. You squealed in surprise before he set you on the ground in front of him, still holding your body firmly, refusing to let go of you for fear that you could slip away.
His face was buried in your neck and you brushed your fingers over his damp skin to soothe him. His arms still kept a firm hold on your waist when he pulled back to look at you. His eyes were moist with tears when as he gazed down at you.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry. I was being stupid, and I never should have—”
“Shhh,” you cut him off, cupping his jaw with your hand. You ran your thumb over his cheekbone as his eyes darted around your face, searching for any reassurance that the two of you were okay after the fight. “I know, Christian. It’s okay.” You saw the relief washing over Christian’s body as he pulled you into a gentle kiss, pressing his lips firmly to yours as he tried to communicate all of the things he was feeling.
“We can talk about everything when we get home, okay?” you asked softly, and he nodded, smiling down at you. “Right now, I just want to tell you how proud I am of you.”
The pink blush immediately painted his cheeks as he grinned sheepishly and hid his face in your shoulder. You giggled at his actions, knowing that he never took compliments well, yet you refused to stop telling him how highly you thought of him. You held the back of his head and felt him place a couple kisses to your shoulder before he stood up to look at your face again.
“I’m sorry I got you all sweaty,” he pulled the long-sleeved compression shirt over his hand, using it to wipe your neck off as you both laughed together.
“It’s fine,” you smiled at him. “You’ll just have to help me wash it off in the shower later.”
He raised his eyebrows, surprised by your suggestive comment as a grin spread across his face.
The two of you waved to Kai and Sophia as Christian took your hand in his, lacing your fingers together as you walked away from them.
He brought your intertwined hands up to his face, kissing the back of yours as you made your way toward the tunnel so you could leave the stadium.

Two Skeptics And A Believer Walk Into A Haunted Room...
❥ Back to the Control Center
❥ I'm so so so sorry for the shitty and abrupt ending on this one, I just got bored and kiiinda ran out of ideas on where to take the last 20 or so minutes of the video... who knows I might make a pt. 2 and finish the video at some point if I can think of something to add
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
Tommyinnit x fem!reader
Summary: Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke right? But, it just so happens to be a very accurate description of you, Tommy, and Jack entering the Ram Inn for your guest appearance on the Sam and Colby youtube channel
Word Count: 2.3k
Warnings: creepy stuff, hauntings, demons, language, probably an inaccurate spirit box session, inconsistent capitalization, shitty writing.. this is definately not one of my better ones
Dialogue Key:
Y/N
Tommy
Jack
Sam
Colby
James, the tour guide
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
The group of you began in a courtyard of the Ram Inn, Jack to your right and Tommy to your left while Sam and Colby stood before you.
Tom had originally just asked Jack to come with him for the video, assuming you'd want nothing to do with it after how annoyed you seemed during the entire 'uncle nasty' situation. He quickly realized his mistake when you followed him around the apartment for an hour begging him to ask Sam and Colby if you could come along.
"And what about you?" Sam asked, eyes trained on you.
Jack had finished telling the story of his experience on stream and Tom declared his adamancy that ghosts aren't real, but you'd yet to speak.
"Oh I believe 100%" you spoke with a smile, completely ignoring your boyfriend perched beside you staring at you as if you were insane, "I've always wanted to try something like this, I just couldn't justify spending all the money on equipment."
"Yeah" Sam drawled out scratching the back of his neck, "it does get a bit expensive."
"Exactly!" you chirped, gesturing to the two older boys before you, "but since you already have it... now I get to do it free of charge!"
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
You quickly noticed, that despite his insistence that everything was fine, Tom was starting to get jumpier than normal inside the building.
Usually, whenever a camera is around, your boyfriend became a hyper-sugar-high-nighmare that would be bouncing off the walls and jumping all over the place. Now, however, it seemed he barely registered the camera being on at all.
Instead, he seemed dazed, taking special care to analyze every corner of the room and register every individual item placed in the general area. If you didn't know about the demons that were said to call this place their home, you'd say the scariest thing was the way Tom was acting.
The guide soon gathered the group in the center of the room to begin the tour, "There's two main demons, One's an incubus and one's a succubus. John, who owned the building, he was attacked by them quite a lot."
You closed your eyes, lowering your head slightly in embarrassment for what was to come. You'd been dating Tom long enough to know exactly where his mind was at.
"So was he like... into demon..."
You didn't expect that though.
"Why would you ask that?" you hissed slapping his shoulder, before looking back to your guide, "was he though? I am kinda curious now."
Jack mumbled, shaking his head similar to that of a parent watching their kids doing something they shouldn't, "Children."
"No." James responded, drawing out his answer as if deliberating in his mind, "No, no-no."
Tommy looked down at you right as you looked up at him. The both of you stared at each other for all of two seconds before nodding in conclusion.
"Yeah-"
"-he definitely did."
As the rest of the group continued talking over the specifics of the demons in the Inn, it took all of your strength to keep from laughing at your boyfriend.
"So like" Tommy cut off the guide, "what are the boundaries sexually? like I'm not trying to be immature... this is just like really freaking me out-"
"Tom!" you gasped through laughter, "it's a demon! Love, I dont think it has boundaries."
The rest of the group began laughing, everyone but Tommy.
"Well what about my boundaries!" he complained hands splayed across his chest, only making you laugh harder "Don't laugh at me! I'm being serious!"
James, the tour guide entered the conversation, "No, is not no."
Toms's facial expression dropped, one hand going for your wrist while the other continued gesturing out before him as he spoke, "I- Well, mate that's not how that works!"
By now, you were practically on the floor with laughter, the only thing keeping you up was your arm raised high above you in Tommy's grip.
"They're a demon, I don't think they care."
"Well, I care!"
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
"This room by far is the most... decorated?" you spoke, looking around at all the creepy items placed around the room.
"Yeah, it's like theyre trying to make this place scary" Sam agreed, looking down at a dusty mirror desplaying the words 'help me' at the back wall of the room.
Jack took the singular chair in the room, while the rest of the group stayed standing, listening as the tour continued.
Well, continued for all of a few minutes when a candle fell from the table behind where Jack sat.
You jumped, grabbing onto Tommy, "I didn't like-"
You were swiftly cut off by a girl's voice coming from the window, "Nope. I really didn't like that."
The group began freaking out, Sam moving closer to investigate the noise and Tommy tugging your arm behind him, shuffling in front of you. Creating as much space from that general area and you as he could.
"Hello?" he shouted, one arm holding you behind him and the other holding the Minecraft sword before him, "Hello? Can you check the window?"
Everyone began deliberating what was going on, trying to figure out an explanation for what was going on. By now, you were burrowing yourself into Tom's side, one of his arms securely wrapped around you, swinging the sword before the both of you as he tried to get the group to go check outside.
Sam tried to bring up the candle, but Tommy had his mind set on figuring out what was going on. The candle could wait, but if there were people waiting outside messing with you all, they could easily leave at any second.
However, after checking around several times, it became obvious that whatever you heard wasn't outside the hotel.
It had to have been inside.
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
You all decided to cut the tour short and begin the investigation due to the amount of stuff you all seemed to be experiencing.
So, you all began the night in the witch's room with the spirit box.
"Is there anything here that wants to talk to us?"
"Please just say Hi or something" Tommy spoke bouncing anxiously on his feet, "I'm really just not having a good time-"
Ooh
Sam pointed down at the box, a smile growing on his face "Was that just a hello?"
Jack, on the other hand, wasnt as easily convinced, "Eh... it was a very faint something."
"Can you tell us a name? or who you might be?"
After a few moments of silence, Tommy and Jack made up an impromptu rap for the ghosts, and despite a few other unintelligible noises, nothing else seemed to happen in the room.
However, before leaving the room, you set up the REM pod on the bed just in case.
"I just remembered something" Sam spoke up when the REM pod began to go off in response to Jack, "The witch only likes respect..."
"Oh, thats right!" Colby shouted, "That's why we got the offerings-"
You whipped around, facing the tall raven-haired man behind you, eyebrows raised high, "I'm sorry... the what?"
"Yeah! The witch will only talk to people if she wants to. because like, if you're being disrespectful or too stupid she's like 'I don't wanna talk'"
You turned back, clicking your tongue and shrugging with fake sympathy as you faced Tommy. "You hear that?" you sighed, resting a hand on his shoulder, "Looks like we're gonna have to kick you out of this investigation."
Tommy sputtered looking around, "Wha- Why?"
Jack stepped forward, knowing where you were going with this, "Yeah mate," he added shaking his head sorrowfully, "You may have to wait outside for this one."
You and Jack looked at each other with a smirk,
"Ya know," you continued, "to keep you from acting-"
"-too stupid"
"-Too stupid"
Tommy looked at the both of you, mouth agape. "Common now, that was just mean."
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
For the first Estes method run of the night, Tommy volunteered to go under as you all investigated the first floor. The rest of you now stood huddled around him as he sat in the rocking chair with the headphones on.
"Is there anybody here with us? you were just making the REM pod go off earlier"
Get Down.
"Were we being disrespectful upstairs?"
Me and You.
"Is anyone upstairs?"
I need you.
You furrowed your brows at that. Both Sam and Colby brought up the succubus, but neither directly asked the question, so you decided you would.
"Like the succubus? O-or Incubus I guess? I dunno one of the demons?"
silence.
"You said you needed something? What do you need?" you asked again, but still received no response.
You laughed a little to yourself, "Welp I guess it doesn't like me then." your eyes widened, "Actually, uh, ghosts, please do not confirm or deny that statement... I think I'd rather you be silent on that one, I don't really want to know."
The rest of the group, except for Tommy obviously, laughed a little under their breath at your words before continuing the investigation.
"Is there something evil here? something that's keeping you here?"
Going on.
"Something evil going on"
"That makes sense" you agreed, "It's the most haunted place in England right?" you asked looking between the two, "It has to have had something evil going on at some point"
"Yeah" Colby nodded, "this place has had "Evil" for around 5,000 years."
"We hear there's demons here, is that true?"
Earth Under.
"Like... buried?" you asked.
Jack nodded at your words, adding another question for the two boys, "Yeah, because a lot of shit was like, dug up here as well, right-"
Tunnel to the left.
"oh my god," you breathed out, "Isn't that where they dug up that grave?"
"Oh yeah!" Sam exclaimed running over into the next room, "this is where they found the tunnel that used to be a grave, which would've been-"
"-to my left."
The three of you scurried back into the room where Tommy and Colby stayed to continue talking to the ghosts.
"Are you talking about the tunnel in the other room? where did that lead to?"
no response.
Just as you were about to ask a question, Tom yelped, quickly grabbing the headphones and ripping them off due to a low, loud, and deep voice suddenly coming through the speakers.
next under, was Jack.
"What's your purpose here ghost? What do you want?"
The child
You and Tommy both began freaking out at that while Sam and Colby stood to the side somewhat confused.
"Everyone used to call me the child!" he yelled, a vice-like grip on your arm as he spoke to the other two and the camera, "Everyone would call me the child!"
"Woah... whats even weirder" Sam explained, "was the bones they found underneath here were a child's."
"Well, uh, that's good" your voice shook slightly, "that means it might not be referring to you then."
"Do- do you mean tunnel child or- or Tom child?"
no answer.
"ya know," you spoke nervously, "I kinda wanted to try, but now I'm not too sure."
Yes.
"oh no." you laughed, "I-uh, I didn't like that at all."
"Are you sure you do not want to try?" Sam asked, laughter in his tone, "I think they want you to"
Yes.
"Well..." you drawled, "I don't really uh, I don't really know... we seem to be getting a lot here without me doing that.."
"We are going back to the witch's room next to give her an offering" Colby mentioned, "you could do it there if you'd like. We didn't get much activity up there."
"True" you trailed off, thinking it over, "Yeah sure, I'll do it there."
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
Not too long later, you were now sat in a different chair up in the witch's room, getting ready for the Estes method after giving the witch her new Minecraft creeper and scrub-daddy offerings.
"Nah" you spoke, waving Tom over near you, "You sit right there and give me your hand" you demanded pointing to the floorboards to your side.
"Why?"
"Because I know how you are. No way I'm letting you float around this room to scare me and tap on my shoulders and shit- sit down."
And with that, Tommy sat on the floor, hand folded in yours as you put the headphones on and pulled down the blindfold.
"Is anyone here with us?"
Nothing.
"Elspeth, are you here with us?"
You jumped in your chair, not quite ready to hear anything come through the headphones.
Yes.
"Have you found us disrespectful?"
One.
"One of us was disrespectful?"
"Probably fucking Tom." Jack scoffed, rolling his eyes.
"AY! Why'd you say that!"
"Oh I don't know, you're the one that has been yelling at her!"
"Have not!"
"you just were like two seconds-"
you squeezed Tom's hand, unknowingly cutting off Jack and Tommy's argument as you spoke,  "I don't know what it just said, but it sounded like laughing at the end."
Colby tilted his head, eyes furrowing, "laughing? why would she be laughing?"
'm not.
"What do you mean you're not?" Tom pestered, "You just did so-"
Him.
Toms's brow crinkled further, confusion settling into his expression.
"Him?" Sam asked, "Do you mean it's not Elspeth anymore?"
"Yeah, are we talking to someone else?"
your head quirked to the side, confused at the noise coming through the headphones, "It's like a bell?" you spoke, "Yeah like I hear a bell ringing."
"Oh!" Sam yelled, "Like ding ding, that's right!"
"Maybe"
"Who are you then? who are we speaking to?"
Bad.
"You're bad? Or is something here bad?"
Evil.
"What do you mean evil?"
The next.
Colby turned to Sam, realization dancing in his eyes, "The bishop's room. Thats our next stop, known to be a center for the demon-"
You yelped, tearing off the headphones when loud, evil laughter flooded your ears. You squeezed Tom's hand, yanking his arm to get a semi-awkward positioned hug from the boy.
"That sucked" you spoke, voice muffled by his sweatshirt.
"What happened?" he asked you, eyes wide and gaze quickly moving to each of the older guys in the group, attempting to calm you the best he can while freaking out himself.
"There was loud laughter." you explained, gesturing around our head, "it was like thousands of people all laughing all around my head."
Once again.... so very sorry for the shitty ending- I couldn't think of anything else to put...

chapter 1: patrol | ellie williams |
summary — You knew Ellie Williams. You weren't close with her by any means, but you knew her. You knew that she had been dating Dina for 5 months when you arrived, and you also knew that you were fairly interested in her. One night after a day of patrol together, the two of you talk during a get-together. And not just about the normal trivial things you'd say every now and then to break the almost comfortable silence during patrols. You actually talked.
pairing — ellie williams x reader
warnings — femme-based reader, slight violence? reader is a lesbian, dina & ellie are dating (she doesn’t cheat dw)
word count — 1.8k
author’s note — Hello Hello, I have not written since about middle school so i’m so sorry if this is just horribly written ( ゚д゚) Also I apologize if there are any mistakes/inconsistencies or anything like that. I was raised by an immigrant who’s English wasn’t perfect when he had/taught me so mine isn’t perfect either! So much for Eng being my first language LOL.
7:15 AM. The bright red numbers from your shitty alarm clock burned into your eyes as you decided to actually open them and make an attempt to wake up and start your day. You didn’t just wake up now though, you had been awake for the past hour or so; listening to the sound of Jackson slowly coming to life. Your body is still on its usual sleep-wake cycle from traveling on your own. Before you came across a few people and were welcomed into this community, your sleep wasn’t exactly a priority. Sleep was a luxury, you only got a few hours of sleep so you naturally woke up early even though you didn’t exactly need to. Which of course, was miserable but unfixable so far.
Deciding to actually function, you sit up with a sigh; and internally groan at the feeling of the frigid air compared to the warmth of your bed sheets. “Fuck that,” you mumble to yourself, and wrap one of the blankets around you and stand up. After dressing yourself in the appropriate kind of clothing for the mid-December weather, which was beautiful but fucking miserable, you head out to start your day.
Ellie’s coming with you on your patrol today, which wouldn’t be the first time. You two weren’t usually paired up, but you remember her from a few of your first non-group patrols. Actual conversation never really occurred between the two of you, you said hello when meeting up and all that shit; and talked about how to take out the infected that were in the area. But it was never more than that. Not a big deal though, it didn’t make a huge difference to you. Although, a part of you longed for more. Just a little bit more, even if she just asked you how you were feeling that day or if you had any plans. One time during one of your very first patrols you attempted to shoot and ride at the same time; which evidently failed as you got knocked off by a runner. Ellie took care of the infected that had knocked you off, but she had pulled you to safety before doing that. She was grabbing you by the arm, yanking you behind her. After that, for some reason, you couldn’t stop thinking about her grabbing you. Her touching you. You replayed that moment in your head over and over again, even after arriving back in Jackson that day.
But Ellie had been with Dina for 5 months at that point. You had just gotten there, you didn’t already want to tarnish your image with the idea that you’re going after a taken woman. That would fucking suck. That and the fact that it's just plain wrong. So you just took those feelings and shoved them deep down inside you so they would never see the light of day.
Tumblr media
“Hey {name}, you signing in? I grabbed Lady from her stable for you already! ” someone else getting ready for a patrol said as they saw you. “Oh, thank you! And uh yeah, just waiting for Ellie. Have you seen her, she's usually the first one here?”
Almost as if on cue, Ellie walked in. Her face was slightly red, and it looked as if she was frowning; her eyebrows furrowed as she mumbled something to herself that you couldn't hear. “Maybe she’s not a morning person,” you thought to yourself, “maybe we have that in common. God, I hope it doesn’t affect her attitude on this patrol, I really don’t feel like dealing with that shit right now.”
You gave her a small wave and a slight smile, and she gave you a nod of acknowledgment as she grabbed Shimmer from her stable.
“You ready? This shouldn’t take too long, this area never really has any infected.” She handed you a map of the route since you’ve never been on it before, and she didn’t want to deal with you getting lost along the way.
As you saddled your horse you took a quick glance over the route, “Hm, yep. Seems easy enough!”
She gave you a small smile, finally. “Alright, let's go then. I just wanna get it done quickly.” And with that, you mounted your horses and headed for the gate to leave.
Tumblr media
The ride was quiet for the most part, aside from a few comments about the weather or a random animal one of you saw. It was really pretty too, you were kinda upset you had never come along on this route before. No infected to take out and good scenery? It was perfect, completely serene.
There were, however, buildings you had to clear of course. And this one seemed rather large and broken down, it almost looked like some sort of gas station or store like that. All of the entrances were blocked by something so you had to figure out a different point of entry.
“Hey,” Ellie motioned towards an open window with her head, “over here. I’ll boost you up and you can help me get in.”
You silently nodded and jumped off Lady, patting her on the side once before jogging over to said window.
She bends down, links her hands together, and nods up towards the opening, “Okay, up you go.”
Stepping onto her hands, she pushes upwards and you’re able to grab onto the very edge of the window. “Fuck, I think I need a little bit more help—it’s a little too high for me to reach.”
Another touch. This time she grabbed onto your leg to help boost you up more. It wasn’t your lower leg though, it was like—The directly below your ass leg area.
Your breath hitched and you were finally up through the window; standing on what you assumed was some sort of storage unit. After helping Ellie up, you turn on your flashlight and start looking around. There wasn’t much really, you found a few extra bullets and some supplies. Plus an old corpse, which wasn’t too pleasant of course.
“So..” Ellie suddenly interrupted the comfortable silence that you two usually experienced during your patrols, “you coming to that party at the church tonight?” Oh. Oh. That's more than the usual small talk.
“Ah, yeah actually. I planned on at least stopping by if I wasn’t too tired. Why? Did you get ditched by Dina?” You said with a slight laugh.
Ellie bit her lip, almost as if that was partially true, “Mn no, was just wondering.” she shrugged and turned to open another door to see if the room was clear. You raised an eyebrow at her before turning to do the same and see if your room was clear.
It was definitely not clear. As soon as you creaked open the door, a clicker rushed out at you. You stumbled back, grabbing your gun from your leg holster and pointing it at its fungi-overtaken head. But you couldn’t aim steady, so much was happening so fast and you were shaken from being jumped by a fucking clicker.
“{reader}, watch out!” Ellie screamed as she ran towards you and the clicker, who was on top of you now. You were barely able to keep it away from your face, its mouth biting down on air as it failed to reach your skin; loud screeches disorienting you even more.
“Fucking— get it off!” Jesus christ this thing was fucking strong. You weren't weak but you’d have a hard time if you were rushed suddenly like this. Ellie grabbed the clicker off of you and shot it once in the head, and it fell to the floor beside you limply.
“{reader} , {reader} are you okay? You’re not bit are you?!” she said panicked, her voice urgent and unstable; and she kneeled down in front of you so you were face to face. “Yeah…yeah, I’m fine.” but you winced. Your face felt..wet? Reaching up to your left cheek you touched where it felt damp, and when your hand drew back you found your fingertips smeared with blood. Were you bit? Maybe you don’t feel it when it happens, and that's why there’s always that dramatic moment in the cheesy old zombie apocalypse movies where the side character realizes they’ve been bit later on.
“Shit, it’s just a scratch but you’re bleeding pretty heavy,” she paused for a second, “I have stuff in my bag for that, you’ll be fine.” She shrugged her backpack off and rummaged around in it before finding a package of first aid supplies. She grabbed cotton balls and hydrogen peroxide before she began dousing them in the liquid.
“Alright this is gonna sting a bit.” she leaned in close and started cleaning your cheek. You know how when you would fall and hurt your knee when you were a kid? And your parents would pull out the rubbing alcohol and tell you it wasn’t gonna hurt at all. But it actually ended up burning really badly? That’s what it felt like, the stinging making you flinch and almost whine.
“I’m sorry, I know it hurts.” she looked at you with sympathy and continued cleaning, apologizing sweetly every time you would wince or groan. A minute later she was done, and she threw the used cotton balls to the side. “Alright, you’re all done. Feel better?” She got up after pausing to stare at you for merely a second and grabbed her backpack from the floor. “You okay to continue? I wanna get through this as quickly as possible now, I don't want that happening again.” She laughed a little, before reaching out her hand to help you get up.
The two of you finished the patrol, not finding any other infected aside from a few runners that you took down easily.  It started snowing at some point while you were scavenging for supplies in some small building and hurried out of there before it would get any worse. She didn’t ask any more questions as she did before on your way back through the route, she was quiet and almost nervous. She’d glance at you every few minutes or so, and just as quickly as she would look she would turn away from you.
The entire trip back home, you dreaded that party. Pulling your horses into the stable, Ellie hesitated before finally speaking for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
“So uh… you said you are going to the party tonight, right?” She looked almost hopeful as if she’d be disappointed if you said no.
“Oh, yeah!” You smiled, a bit too awkward for your own liking, “Uh.. see you there?”
She smiled and nodded, before handing Shimmer off to the stable handler. As you watched her walk away, you felt that same anxiety bubble up in your stomach again. The same anxiety you felt when you first saw the girl before you were informed that she was in a committed relationship. It almost made you feel sick to your stomach, it was that kind of excited anxiety that made you so giddy you could jump up and down and scream. But you couldn't. "Man I'm delusional" you mumbled to yourself as you followed Ellie's actions and handed Lady off, "She's just being friendly. No need to get excited."
No need to get excited.
Right?

Azriel x Reader
Renewal | Chapter 5
Azriel x Female Reader
The LONG anticipated chapter 5 of Renewal! This is a big one y'all! I hope you like it! I took it in a different direction than I originally planned so I apologize for any inconsistencies! LOVE YALL
______________________________________________________________
Azriel had flown for hours, cursing himself for getting so worked up over nothing. He never lost it like this. In his centuries of life he’d perfected controlling his emotions and he’d be damned if he lost it over a human girl. A beautiful, kind, extraordinary human girl, but a human girl nonetheless. He was a powerful fae warrior, he couldn’t lose his cool over a little unjustified jealousy. He just needed a distraction.
Azriel dropped down along the Sidra, planning to find somewhere to drink his troubles away without the distraction of said human girl. He walked to one of Velaris’s more popular bars, not as famous as Rita’s by any means, but busy nonetheless, and immediately downed two drinks.
He was ordering a third when a pretty strawberry blonde female dropped down in the seat next to him. She was pretty enough, but not like Y/N. She was petite where you were curvy, blonde where you were dark, and she lacked all the little details that made you, you.
But, he was determined to distract himself, so he conversed with the female all while downing more and more drinks.
Before Azriel knew it, the female had him by the hand and was leading him to her apartment across the street. Getting into bed was a blur, and he couldn’t remember taking off his shirt, or whether she had starting kissing him, or he had started kissing her.
She was undeniably sexy, and her hands were all over him, but despite his best efforts to remain in the moment, he couldn’t help but feel that this was wrong.
Azriel gently placed his hands on her shoulders and pushed her off his mouth. She looked down at him, a small frown marring her pretty face.
“I’m sorry,” he began, “I can’t do this.”
Her face twisted in confusion before looking down at his decidedly un-excited groin, her lips parting in a soft “oh.”
She slid off him and he sat up on the bed next to her, feeling extremely awkward.
“Do you… prefer males?” She asked as she stared at him, her head slightly tilted to the side.
Azriel huffed a laugh, “no”, he said with a slight grin, though it’d probably be nicer if he did. He could’ve just married Cassian and been done with it.
“I’m definitely attracted to females, and you’re very beautiful, it’s just…” He trailed off, the female looking at him expectantly and he suddenly felt very sober. “I have someone else on my mind.”
“Oh!” she breathed, “I understand.” and she gave him a sweet smile.
“Really?” he asked, brows furrowed in confusion, he thought she’d have protested more, or maybe try to kiss him again, not give up in understanding.
She let out a laugh at his confusion. “Of course I am! It’s not like I was expecting a love match from this.” She smirked at him, causing a blush to rise to his cheeks.
“It’s actually good to know you’re in love with someone, I was starting to worry you thought I was gross.” Azriel’s face flushed even further at her use of the word “love,” but he was relieved she understood.
“No,” he began to reassure her, “you’re a lovely female, I just….I can’t sleep with you.”
“Honestly?” she said, “It’s kind of nice to know there are males out there like you, devoted enough to turn down a half naked and willing female in their bed.” He huffed another laugh before grabbing his shirt and bidding the female goodnight.
Azriel flew home feeling a bit lighter, with the word “love” bouncing around in his mind.
Y/N
“Get up” a harsh voice called as the curtains were ripped open. Unforgiving sunlight burst into the room, assaulting your half-asleep mind. You blinked, holding your head as you sat up from under the covers, you knew shots with Cassian were a bad idea.
“Amren?” The petite female was standing in front of the window, arms crossed, her usual look of boredom in place.
“I’ve made a potential breakthrough and I’m not letting your overconsumption stop me from testing my theory.” She tossed a small bottle at you with a smirk.
“What’s this?” you picked up the bottle, inspecting the odd green liquid inside.
“Hangover cure.” The female stated, as if it were obvious.
“Be down in ten minutes or I’ll come up and douse you in ice water.” And with that she walked out, shutting the door behind her.
You glanced at the window, trying to discern the time by the sun’s position, but winced as soon as the light hit your eyes. You have Amren’s green liquid one last look before popping the cork and downing it in one gulp. Almost immediately your headache was gone and most of your energy restored. “Fuck, I love magic.” You smiled.
You dressed quickly, less worried about your appearance and more worried about getting downstairs before Amren’s ten minutes were up.
You opened the library door to find Amren sitting in a circle of books, some so old the looked like they’d crumple at your touch. Rhysand sat in a chair by the lit fire, looking as bleary eyed as you felt when Amren awoke you minutes ago.
“Good, you’re here. I have a spell I’d like to try.” Amren looked up from the tome in her lap, looking almost giddy. You worriedly glanced at the High Lord, he merely shrugged.
“I’m here for moral support.” Rhysand gave you a tired grin, and you sat across from Amren on the floor.
“I need you to stay calm during this. Drop your shields and Rhys will help.”
“What’s going to happen?” You asked, eyeing the small knife Amren had procured seemingly out of thin air.
“I’m just going to cut your arm, nothing deep. Just a bit of blood for the magic.” She looked almost annoyed at your hesitancy. “Then hopefully the spell I read will work and we’ll finally have some answers.”
You nodded at the female and dropped your flimsy shields, allowing Rhysand into your mind.
The blade stung as it cut your skin, but Amren was honest, the cut wasn’t deep, just enough to make you bleed. You watched as she took your blood, telling you to close your eyes and focus on her voice.
You felt Rhysand in your mind, slithering through your thoughts.
Amren spoke in an odd language, the sounds flowing and light, but something about it seemed familiar to you. That prickling feeling in the back of your head started again, and you started to feel a pull in your gut, weak at first, but rapidly growing stronger, like the feeling of freefalling, gravity tugging at your body as you plummeted toward the earth.
Amren grabbed your hands, stinging the cut on your palm. Your eyes flew open, the pain intensifying at her touch, the once gentle pulling in your stomach growing into a ripping pain, and the room blurred around you. You distantly heard Rhysand’s voice, his prying at your unshielded mind, but all you felt was pain, searing, intense, pain.
You felt your mouth open but couldn’t hear your scream over the ringing in your ears. Images flooded your mind, so fast you couldn’t comprehend any of them, and soon your mind was so full of thoughts, images, and feelings, you were certain it’d burst. The swirling thoughts continued, spinning and spinning and trapping  you in a vortex of pain, mania, and confusion. Rhysand was in the background of your mind, witnessing your physical and mental pain but helpless to stop it.  Just when you couldn’t take it anymore, when the pain was so intense you could only see white and you were sure you’d die, the spinning in your vision stopped and the room came into view. You took a breath and felt it catch in your throat, you tried to cough and immediately turned to the side and vomited. Thick black sludge expelled from your mouth, choking you as it came out. You vaguely felt someone come behind you and hold back your hair. You felt cold and hot at the same time, like your body was ripping itself from the inside and reforming into something new. You felt different, sharper, clearer, and somehow more like yourself than you’d felt in a long time.
When the vomiting ceased, and the pain in your stomach dulled to an ache, you finally looked up at the room and fae surrounding you. You were still on the floor, covered in sweat and remnants of blood and your strange vomit. Azriel sat beside you, his hands still in your hair, his hazel eyes filled with concern. Amren stood across from you, a stern look on her face, the ancient book she’d smeared your blood on torn to shreds. Feyre and Cassian stood to the side, and for the first time since you’d awoken, you could feel the faint trace of magic emanating from them, as if they’d pulled it to the surface in case they needed to strike. You knew they were staring at you, noting the changes that had been made when the curse broke. They’d have questions, so many questions.
Finally your eyes found Rhysand, and the look on his face cut you much deeper than the shallow knife wound. Your vision was sharper now, and you could see the flecks of stars in his violet eyes, reflecting your own.
It was as if time was frozen, no one knew what to say. You could feel the confusion seeping off every fae in the room, its orangish tint flooding your senses.
Rhysand spoke, breaking the incessant silence, “Where’s Nyx.” he demanded, never removing his eyes from you.
“Mor and Nesta have him at the townhouse.” Feyre replied, her voice soft in the quietness of the room.
Rhysand nodded. “Everyone out except Y/N.” You held his gaze as everyone filed out. When the door shut, he let out a shuddering breath and tore his gaze from your own. He sat down heavily in the plush velvet chair by the fire. He remained silent as you pulled yourself up from the ground, aching and dirty, and gently lowered yourself into the seat across from him. The High Lord let out a deep sigh, “Do you remember who you are?” he asked as he stared into the dying fire before him. “I remember everything, brother.”

I Don't Miss You At All (ITA One Shot)
Loki x Reader Avengers The Office AU (Slowwwwww Burn)
Warnings: tears, trauma, therapy
Word Count: Thank you Tari for being such a nice friend. For reading all that I blurt out here. Thank you for being my reader and supporter even though I have been so inconsistent as a writer and as a friend.
MASTERLIST in bio, darlings. Tags are open (check bio)
"Looking for something?" Your attention is brought back by the gorgeous olive-skinned lady in her late forties sitting before you. "Hmm?" is all that comes out of you while you are biting the dead skin on your lower lip. "You were looking around for something on the ceiling and-" she points at the French doors opening to the porch outside with the pen in her hand- "the doorway." Your crinkled brows relax and go up a little. "Oh. Right. It was...I was looking for cameras." Now lady furrows her brows even though she is smiling at you. "It was on involuntary." You shrug casually. The lady does not react. "I am used to cameras in my vicinity." you try to summarise. She opens the notebook in her lap. "Nothing negative. Just a project my father has going on." Now her lips make that straight line and you suddenly feel like you've failed a test. "So there is an entire crew-" "Miss Y/N, breathe." she tries to calm you down.
You breathe in, hold the air and let it out slowly, taking in your surroundings again. The beige-coloured room is well-lit- thanks to the abundant sunlight coming through the French doors. You sit on a cream-coloured velvet sofa, wearing your oversized shirt with a happy Tony Tony Chopper eating candy on the front and a pair of blue mom jeans. "So-" the lady starts, seeing that your nerves seem better- "why did you come in today?" "Doctor I-" "Jane. It's Jane. Please call me Jane," she urges with a smile before settling on her cream sofa. "Okay...Jane." You nod.  "So, tell me why you are here today." Pressing your hands between your thighs and letting the warmth seep in, you feel your chest tighten. The air that goes in to help you form the words suddenly feels heavy in the lungs. Your eyes seem to betray you a little too. You smile, trying your best to let your facial muscles close your eyes as much as possible and wipe away the moisture by some miracle. But they fail. A tear falls down your cheek, falling right through the smile. "Because I'm not okay," your voice croaks. Your shivering hands try to wipe away the tears that now seem endless. "Sorry," you whisper an apology. "It's okay," Jane soothes you, pouring a glass of water from the jar sitting in front of you on her coffee table, "let it out. That's good. We're halfway there already because you are aware you are not feeling okay. So, no need to rush. Crying is also a part of it. It is okay to cry." You gulp down the water in seconds before pouring yourself another round. "Okay," you announce softly, nodding in Jane's direction. "Take a minute if-" "No, I'm good," you confirm and settle back down in your seat with a sigh. Jane's eyes smile their kindest smile at you. "Okay. let's begin."
"Yeah-" you nod- "so, it's been a few weeks now..."
Tumblr media
The six am alarm starts to buzz on your phone and before the alarm tone can even begin to ascend, your fingers are stopping the buzz. There is no point in the alarm when you lay wide awake in your bed in the dorm room, your eyes looking at infinity in the sky outside as they have watched it break from dawn to a proper sunny day. The constant throbbing in your head has become a part of your existence now. You lay in your bed for another hour and you would have laid there for two more had Yusuf not knocked at your door. "Y/N! We have a lecture in twenty minutes. Please tell me you are still not sleeping." You have heard him, but your body lays in bed, still looking at the sky. Yusuf knocks again. Silence. "Okay, I'm coming in," he shouts, "you better be decent because we cannot miss today's lecture." You groan and crinkle your nose when Yusuf pulls you up by your arms. You protest, not wanting to attend today's lectures. But Yusuf's begging techniques seem to be your weakness. Deodorant under your armpits and a change of shirt later you are sitting through the day's lectures, pretending to write in your notebook. Everything around you is on the move- the professors, the students, the assignments leaflets, the laptops, even the bugs crawling on the class's windows outside- while you sit in one place. Nothing seems to grab much of your attention. Except for that one whiff of jasmine, lily and a mix of spices that sometimes travels through the air and fires up the wrong wirings inside you. Some days it just makes your heart race up a bit, making you short of breath for a while. On other days, you sweat through your body, unable to breathe, looking for the washroom to run into before crumbling down in there. Today it makes your hands shiver. Your back can feel the cold sweats coming in. "I'll just come back," you mumble to Yusuf and rush to the washroom from the back door of the lecture hall. .
"All good?" Yusuf's concerns are always transparent. "Yeah. I think the dinner from last night was acting up." You smile at him through the lie.  More lectures start and finish before it is time for lunch. "Don't feel like it," you declare, "not hungry." "Have some juice still," Yusuf presses, already having brought you a glass of fresh pressed juice. "Dude, that shit's expensive," you state before sliding it back to him. "I can't. I don't feel so good." But Yusuf does not give up. You take three sips before your stomach begins to feel the nausea. You sit in the grass looking at the endless stream of students going about their day with no thought going inside your brain. And then you see those pair of green eyes. Your heart starts to race again. Only to find it is someone else. But it is already too late. The tears have begun to form. And it is starting to get hard to hide them. Taking out your earphones and plugging them in, you press play on a random tutorial on how to make rice in ten different ways and lie down on the grass with your eyes closed. Some days it works.
.
It's four in the evening and you have volunteered to get dog food for Yusuf's pitbull. You have your car now to drive you through the city, a second-hand ocean-blue Honda.  Your mind knows that dog food is an excuse. But no arguments are made. You sit in the city traffic, waiting for the light to turn green. Some random radio channel is turned on in your car. You have never bothered to set it up before. They start to play a familiar song.
Wind blows Blew me to where I belong It was you A home I came into the night
The cold sweats start again. It gets harder to breathe. The light has turned green but the vehicles in front of you are not moving. You shut down the radio and press the horn into infinity. Your car revs and breaks into a spree, only stopping at a spot where there aren't any eyes and you can finally hit your steering wheel as much as you want before you break down into an ugly cry. Two hours pass before you text Yusuf you cannot find the specific brand of dog food and return to the campus. Parking your car near your department building, you walk to the dorms. It's a thirty-minute walk.  Sometimes you feel like you hear the familiar soft British accent on your way. Your chest feels the heaviness again, but your brain simply makes it for another student on campus. You don't have any more tears left to shed for the day.
.
Back at the dorm, you stand under the shower for ten minutes doing nothing. The shirt and PJs you had on last night are what you wear again. You come down to the dining area to see if you have any appetite. You smile at the familiar faces that greet you. You know your smiles are growing weaker every day. But there is nothing you can do about it. Salad. Soup. Bread. Pasta. Fruits. Ice cream. A tiny leaf of lettuce. A finger-sized slice of bread. Two pieces of penne with barely any sauce on them and a slice of apple. That is all that goes onto your plate. Even the lady serving you is concerned for her favourite student who used to leave the dining hall only after stuffing down two huge servings of everything. You sit on the table in the corner right by the window. It is a cold spot so no one ever prefers to sit there. Even as you sit down to eat the contents on your plate, you are not able to finish the bread and the pasta.
.
Back in your dorm room, you sit in the dark on your bed for about an hour before your phone rings. It's Tony. You look at the time on your phone. It's time for the usual call. You switch on the study light to accept the video call but your fingers never touch the accept button. Finally, you accept the voice call, putting it on speaker. "Hey, sweetie," Tony's voice greets from the other end. "'Sup," you greet back, not truly matching the enthusiasm. "How was college today?" "It was fine." "..." "..." "Okay. Cool. How's that car doing?" "Doing okay." "Because I can send you a better-" "It's doing okay." "...okay," Tony's voice goes down an amplitude, "that's good to know. So...did they have anything good in dinner today?" "Same old." "Did you eat?" you can hear the concern in his voice. "Mm-hmm." Silence. "Are you in your lab?" you finally say, wanting to prevent any more questions that you did not have the strength to answer. "Yeah. Working on a special suit right now. For a special someone." There is a pause for a moment. "Can you...can I hear you work? I have to work on an assignment and I need some sort of background noise to help me get it done faster." "Oh, okay." The amplitude is a little better now.  You lie down on your bed, your legs bent close to your chest, keeping your phone next to you. Tony goes on with this work, chatting with Friday. You continue to listen to him, never consciously feeling the tears fall from your eyes, wetting your pillow. Bruce joins Tony sometime later. You don't know how long has it been since you've been lying there. But you can hear Bruce tell Tony it's two in the morning so they should call it a night. "Y/N, sweetie? You asleep?" Tony whispers through the phone. You say nothing. "I guess she's asleep. Good night, goose," Tony hums before ending the call. You do not wish for the sleep to come, for it has not visited you for quite some days now. But the fear of seeing a familiar face when you fall asleep is also the reason you do not want slumber to hit you. But it comes tonight. Bringing with it reasons you are going to feel the numbness, the hole in your chest, the cold sweats all over again tomorrow.
Tumblr media
Loki only visits your dorm when you are not there. You are gone early from the room because you have an eight am class today. The room reeks. Used tissues lie on the floor, below the study table, overfilling the dustbin. There are half-eaten packets of chips sitting on the desk along with half-finished cans of soda. Your hoodies, sweat pants, shorts and undergarments lie in a crumpled mess in the cupboard as well as the laundry basket. He opens the windows first- noticing the dead succulents on your window sill that Yusuf has brought as a 'dorm-warming gift'- before getting to work. He clears the trash, cleans the floors, disinfects the desk, changes the bedsheet and duvet, and replaces the dirty laundry with clean ones. Taking one last look at the room, he makes sure to leave your clothes just as he had found them to not raise any suspicion. He replaces your bottles and mugs with fresh water, praying that you will drink as much as possible. Then he leaves.
.
He disguises himself as another student to watch you from afar. Sometimes he catches you lost in a thought in the window of your lecture hall. On other days he sees you looking at the void while sitting in the campus grounds. It is visible you have lost weight. Your eyes have bags under them. Your signature smile that went up to your eyes is not there. Twice he has witnessed you rush into the washroom with great urgency, and both times he has stopped himself from following you, for multiple reasons. Both times he has waited outside in the corridor, pacing back and forth. Both times you have come out with a freshly washed face, red eyes hiding behind spectacles and a smile for whoever greeting you in the corridor.
.
He keeps a good distance whenever you walk back from your department to your dorm building. The way back is dimly lit and you prefer to walk alone, no matter the time. Sometimes he watches you stop abruptly in your path. Sometimes you sniffle and wipe something off your face. Other times you take your phone out and look at something on it for a long time before closing it and resuming your walk.
.
He avoids the nights. They do not bring the best of him. Because they are not the best for you.

"Jane, is it? You do realise I would not be here had those two baboons not tricked me into walking into your office on the pretext of an emergency." Loki huffs and rubs one hand on his face while the other rests on his hips. Jane purses her lips and shrugs in agreement before sitting down on her sofa. "Must have been an emergency for your friends to bring to a clinical psychologist, right?" Loki chuckles sarcastically. Jane is unbothered. "Oh, Miss Clinical Psychologist-" Loki's eyes have nothing but pity as he looks in the doctor's direction- "you are talking to a thousand-year-old being infamous for the art of manipulation. So, no offence, but I am pretty sure I can diagnose myself better than any doctor on this planet. Let alone this galaxy." This time Jane is the one chuckling. "I am two hundred per cent sure no one has the knowledge of psychology on this planet as much as you. And I take your word for all that you said. But-" she takes a tiny remote from the coffee table in front of her, points and clicks it to the opaque window separating her room from the reception outside, revealing Peter Parker and Scott Lang pacing the length of the reception hall- "for the sake of those two worried souls, why not humour me for...twenty minutes? Not to mention, even the best of psychologists need another experienced person to help them out in desperate times." Loki looks out at the two figures who have no clue they are being watched. He can't hear but Peter is saying something to Scott with a look of anxiousness, to which Scott simply keeps his hands on Peter's shoulders for a moment, telling him something, and finally taking him into his embrace. The window goes back to white. Loki comes back into the room. He is lost in a thought for a moment. "Well played, Jane," Loki announces in a mumble. "Had it been any other day, I would not give a damn about any of this." Jane simply gestures to the seat kept for Loki with both her hands. The God sits down and sighs.
"Why do you think they are so worried about you?" Loki raises his hands in defeat. "Beats me." Loki notices Jane has not touched the dairy kept in front of her. Neither her pen. She simply sits there for the God to elaborate. After a prolonged moment of thought, and the presence of zero judgment on the doctor's face, Loki gives in. "It's their friend. She...and I are not on speaking terms anymore." Loki's voice has gone soft. Jane nods. "Is their friend not your friend?" "...she was. Till she confessed that she liked me." Loki huffs the 'liked' part as if it were an insult. "Okay." Jane nods, adjusting herself a bit towards to edge of the seat, interested in knowing more. "Nothing more to it, Jane," he points out, averting his gaze, "she's gone...a bit far so we don't see each other much." "So, you do see each other." Loki takes in a long breath, furrowing his brows as if trying to push something away. "No. I go see her. She is staying in the city. I-" Loki's gaze goes down to his fingers that have started playing with the velvet on the sofa- "check in on her. Sometimes." "Why do you need to check in on her?" Even if that question is out of curiosity, Jane makes no effort to react in any way. Loki scoffs. "Because she is wasting away, Jane. A woman like her, who is capable of changing worlds is wasting away in a box half the size of the room we are sitting in because she was rejected by the God she fell for." Jane pours herself a glass of water. "You still haven't answered my question, though, Loki." Loki looks at her in confusion. "Why do you need to check in on her?" She picks the glass up. "What do you mean- I just told you she is-" "Wasting away, yes. That's the choice she made. Why do you feel the need to go there?" Jade sits back with the glass still in her hand. "Because I am the reason she is in this mess." Loki cannot understand what is so hard to understand. Jade turns her head a little. "So are millions of other women after a breakup. Why is it so important for you to go back to her? You have already told her how you feel." Silence. The glass is sitting in her lap. Loki can feel an unnerving feeling in his chest as he glares at that glass of water.
"Because I love her," he finally admits. "Because I cherish her. Because she nearly died because of me." Jade does not speak in the silence that comes after. "Because it is preposterous to think I could ever be with her." The confidence and anger with which Loki had entered the room has dissolved into the sea of certain new emotions; emotions that seem to be taking over his features gradually. The previously poised glare has turned into a fragile pair of eyes blinking a bit faster than before. "And why-" Jane's voice is soft as it stresses her words- "do you think you cannot be with her." Jane raises the glass to her lips, drinking the water, giving the room a good long pause. At that moment, the God feels the rush of tears in his eyes, the onset of a slight quiver building in his lips, the shakiness of his breath as his throat tries to bring out what has been sitting inside that little boy for ages. "Because I'm a monster." his voice breaks as he looks back at Jane. "Because I don't deserve that love." He tries to breathe in to compose himself only for his throat to shake. "Because I am scared of not being worthy. Because I am scared she will find out it is all a facade and I am nothing but a spineless pawn. Because I have only been loved on conditions and am afraid to get hurt again." Tears fall frantically through Loki's eyes. He does not bother to wipe them off. Jane pours Loki a glass of water and hands it to him. "Must have been hard to say it out loud," she states. "I can assure you if you choose to sit with me to figure it out, it will be a bit easier than it is right now. It won't be a smooth sail, but it will hurt less. And you just want the pain to stop, don't you?" Loki takes in a lungful of breath. "I want it to stop." Janes nods in reassurance. "Please make it stop."

Tait rhymes with Hate and Only rhymes with Lonely
I had a glorious, lazy Saturday (late brunch and witty geopolitical conversations on the terrace of the Byzantine Museum, lavender shrubs on top), yet somehow still fell on my basic evening procrastination thoughts.
Taiters, or the Cooperative of Domestic Bliss. They don't even like McSideburns and simply transfer to the Convenient Prop their North Korean homage reflex towards C. They simply hate S, with a thick, blind, ferocious hostility, and it dawned on me it's not just about thwarted love, but also complete failure to lie to oneself. That translates into perfunctory, almost whimpered, praise: 'we love the love' (it sticks out a mile, mhm), 'he has to be exceptional to have been chosen by C' (above all, never mention the inconsistencies, sugar plums), ' he was always by her side' (that seldom happened and only when absolutely required).
Onlies, or the Sisterhood of the Golden Dirk. They don't give a rat's ass about McSideburns, his life, his endeavors and his destiny. They are simply relieved he is there, somewhere, floating like an astronaut in the sidereal void, because that means that C is conveniently accounted for in their binary world representation. The main advantage of their position on the reality cursor is that they don't have to worry about that clear, present danger for their Fitness Harem vicarious fantasy. The main weakness is that they can never be sure: theories are like that, seldom watertight. All the digital stalking (let's not lie to ourselves: monitoring someone 24/7 and building timeline extravaganzas is exactly that) and policing (the French have a wonderful word for that: flicage) will never bring the grail of ultimate evidence. Face it, if you have a modicum of morality. And yes, I feel sorry for your empty, lonely, jejune life and the safety valve you built yourself against all this. I said 'sorry', not compassionate.
I am coldly analyzing all this and I am telling myself that Taiters are intellectually lazy and Onlies are control freaks. Their makeshift, opportunistic coalition against us is merely motivated by the existence of this bothersome Third Option, ironically their #bestofFans.
In the meanwhile, McSideburns carries on. A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside a... oh, well... inside a beanie, I suppose. And how can one hate a beanie? Nah. It's the symptom, not the cause.

Onwards to the Netherlands for a Just So story. Nope, it's not what you think: there are many more interesting things in that wonderful country than three laptops data mining round the clock in a basement.
[edited and changed gif, heh. Realized that it was not really what I had in mind. This one is way better.]

Fated to Fall ~ Sindri x Reader [PT7]
TW: Cannon typical violence
A/n: I think I'm gonna start a tag list for this book because chapters are so inconsistent (sorry about that). So if you want to be tagged for this story just let me know! [Or you can bookmark it on Ao3 here]
|Chapter selection|
|Previous|
"Sindri!" Atreus yelled in greeting, his smile wide on his face. You were too distracted to turn to the boy as you watched Kratos' eyes try to melt you where you stand.
"I'd return your surprise but I did know you'd be here!" Sindri returned the greeting with a tone more cheerful than a few moments ago. And, once the two had gotten closer, he continued.
"I've got something for you!" Those words seemed to peak Kratos' interest. At least enough for him to slowly turn his eyes away from you and to the dwarf.
"What is it dwarf?" He asked, his voice monotone in a way that you knew meant he was irritated. Looking back towards Sindri you see his hands fidgeting and nervous in his movements, especially as he began to walk away from the table and what you knew he was gifting them with.
"You know I'm glad I came back here at least once before Ragnarok" he spoke, turned away from all of you as he did. As if talking to no one.
"Oh, if these cobblestones could talk" he reminisced as he looked around longingly. It was clear he really did miss this place.
"Then they'd have mouths...filthy disgusting mouths" he glances turned much more stiff, almost like he was imagining what it would be like and being quietly horrified with the thought. Then suddenly he turned back over, pointing towards Atreus.
"Do you mind if I fiddle with your bow?" He asked and without hesitation the boy handed it over.
It was then that Kratos turned to you before motioning you away. You knew better than to fight the simple request, as bad as you wished not to speak with him, so you followed him.
"You should not be here" he started the conversation off on the worst note possible, though you knew him as a man of very little subtly.
"Given the way the entire city cowers away it seems neither should the two of you" you answered with the same energy as him. With a sudden movement he was looming over you again, this time his anger not so hidden as it was before.
"This childishness needs to end. This is reckless" he spoke in a poor attempt at a whisper through gritted teeth. You felt every inch of your body boil at him having put himself so close to you, his figure mere inches away. So much so that your glare turned snarl like with the sudden wave of rage that overtook you. You were sure, had you not gotten your cloak, that your eyes would be gleaming at him.
"I am aware you think so little of me that you believe I'm so unable to control myself. So I have taken precautions" you display the metal rings that you had placed in your satchel and gesture down at the white bear skin you had placed on your body lined in a magic hidden from plain view.
"I will have you know, though, that even without these my leave would have been anything but reckless, given that you left me behind with no clue as to what was happening. So my apologies for being so childish as to want to know the reason I was nearly killed the other night and why we must so suddenly search for a dead god" you spoke through your own set of gritted teeth and anger. You two remained standing for a long paused moment in utter silence as you stared at one another, as if waiting to see who folded first.
"Hrm..." he finally answered. Despite your growing anger his seemed to simmer and, thankfully, he took a step back from you.
"Uh, if I may cut in here a moment-" Mimir tried to interject.
"No" the both of you answered in unison. After that it seemed Kratos had finished whatever business he had with you as he went to return to Sindri and Atreus. You followed not so far behind.
"Skjálfa!" Atreus released an arrow into a nearby wagon, the medal there compressing the same way the gate did. The boy's smile widened at the sight.
"Cool-"
"Atreus, this way" Kratos called and the boy was about to follow, though not without a curious look at you.
"Are you coming?" He asked to which you gave a nod. To your surprise he looked quite excited.
"Awesome! Come on, I'll catch you up on the way" he waved you forward. You went to follow, though upon looking where the two intended on going you grew a little weary.
"It's a bit dark in there" you commented mostly to yourself. Right before you could take another step you heard Sindri speak up again.
"Oh! That reminds me! Hold on just a moment" Sindri stopped the two of you as he went digging around in his bag. He pulled out a few random things before he seemed to find what he was looking for.
"Since you all are currently lacking a light source, sorry, I went ahead and made these for you! I only made two, though. I didn't expect that you would need one. But I'll get right to it! It'll be done by the time you all make it back" he outstretched the glowing lights which you and Atreus gratefully took from him.
"I'll make due until then. Thank you" Sindri nodded and turned back to do whatever else he had come here to do.
"Atreus!" Kratos called again. You and the boy glanced at one another before quickly catching up.
-
Once the three were gone Sindri went about cleaning up shop, knowing that they most likely wouldn't return here for a long while. Frankly he didn't want to stay long either, not after what Odin had done to the place he once called home.
It only took a moment later he was off again, back through the Yggdrasil and to the home he now knew. However, whatever comfort he had been looking for evaporated the moment he opened the doors. He was hit with disgust, his eyes catching each tiny stain and out of place chair. He wrinkled his nose at the sight before quickly setting off to tidy the place up.
He zoned out while he was cleaning, for the most part. His mind was mostly on what his new project might be and how he would be able to keep up with the mess all the others seemed so keen on making. And soon enough the inside looked spotless and he was off to clean up the mess outside. That being the branch peices that had been shattered all over the ground earlier. So he swept and swept and swept. As he did, his mind wandered from projects and future messes and instead became caught on the stranger he had only recently met. He had to admit it stung a little, not knowing this person who seemed so caught in the lives of those he cared for. He knew it probably shouldn't, yet it did all the same.
He hardly had time to ruminate on the topic when he heard a set of feet he knew all too well, a glance behind showing his brother arriving back home.
"Brok!" He called, the blue dwarf turning his head almost immediately at the sound.
"The fuck you want!" He called back. Sindri took his opportunity to swipe away the last of the splintered branches before quickly making his way to his brothers side.
"I thought you should know the bow string worked! It was actually more effective than I had originally anticipated!" Sindri began his boasting, the project something he had largely worked on by himself. He got an eye roll in response.
"Well whoopty fuckin' do. Least I know yer done blowin' up all my shit" Sindri immediately regretted having said anything.
"It was one time! At least I don't nearly burn the house down every time I make something to eat!" He rebutted but Brok seemed hardly effected.
"If ya don't like my methods then you can cook yer own damn food!" Brok took a turn into the workshop to which Sindri didn't follow. Instead he stood annoyed on the other side of the workbench. Something Brok didn't seem to notice or care about either as he went to work on whatever he had planned.
For a while longer there was silence between the two. That was until Sindri found himself thinking about the stranger again. He found that his curiosity only grew the more he allowed himself to think about it.
"How long have you known them?" Sindri asked out of the blue. Brok's face twisted a moment, his eyes glancing towards his brother before back down to his work.
"Who're ya talkin' about?" he asked, striking his hammer once more.
"Y/n- you know who I'm talking about! You two seemed close" he asked again, this time Brok considered his words.
"What's got ya so curious?" Sindri took a moment to ponder exactly that. Surely it was just because of your shared company. But perhaps too it could be his intrigue in your work and his astonishment at your lack of care for it. Or even just the simple fact that he was curious for curiosity's sake.
Maybe it was that you just seemed so strangely familiar. Like the itch of a memory he couldn't quite grab hold of. A stranger he's somehow met before.
"Nothing in particular. I just find it strange that I didn't know about them until now" Sindri settles on the obvious answer but his tone was sharper than he had meant it. He wasn't sure if Brok noticed.
"I's told ya about 'em before. Just not in no detail" Brok explained which only brought more questions to Sindri.
"Why not?" Was the one he decided it best to ask first.
"'Cause it weren't nothin' your nose needed stickin' in" he answered flatly.
"Well it seems to be plenty of my business now" Sindri countered and Brok huffed.
"Ain't nothin' important to tell you" Sindri was growing unsatisfied with his answers.
"But why not just tell me anyway?" Brok  was growing visibly frustrated.
"S'this some sorta interrogation?" He was openly indignant by this point but Sindri most definitely wasn't backing down. So, before Sindri could try to push him again and further delay his work, he answered.
"I mets 'em when they's was half dead fightin' off some Draugr at the start'a Fimbulwinter. Didn't know they's was involved with the other two until a whiles after. Now if yer done sniffin' my ass like a dung beetle on date night, I would like to get back to work!" Brok's frustration became more visible the more he spoke until he was eventually fully turned to Sindri, his annoyance more than obvious.
"Well if you would have just answered my questions I wouldn't have to ask so many!" Sindri defended against the clear wishes of his brother, causing him to turn back to his work in a huff.
"If ya don't get yerself somethin' better ta do I swear ta whatever god'll listen that I'll jump over this table and lick ya-"
"Leaving!" Sindri didn't hesitate to immediately vacate the area, knowing damn well that Brok's threat was anything but empty. Yet now he felt his curiosity nearly burn him, Brok's words having only left him with more to question. But he tried to brush it off as best he could.
He had work to do after all.
-
The journey was longer than you had originally thought, but finally, after having met Durlin and walking yourselves through precarious machines, old maze like mine shafts and fighting frankly less creatures than you would have thought while looking for a maybe not so dead god, the four of you had made it to a final set of large wooden doors. Well, technically not so much the final door as it was the last one you all would be looking through, considering you could all spend weeks in here if you really wanted to search the place.
It looked pretty sealed, more than any other the four of you had gone through anyway. But it wasn't anything difficult for you all to figure out. A few shots from Atreus' new bow string took out the metal on the sides well enough and a good pull from Kratos' blades should-
"Hvat er at gerast!?" A voice yelled behind, your head immediately whipping to the sound and in so meeting the eyes of strangers. And oh boy, they didn't seem to friendly.
"We've got company!" You yelled, making sure the other two managed to pull themselves away from the task at hand. Thankfully, whether due to your words or the strangers yelling, they did.
Your movements were natural, planned. Kratos was quick to take his pick of the group and Atreus happily went to help, given that the two always did work so much better together. So you were left with the other. You didn't feel any need to complain though. As far as you were concerned you got the easy work. They had to deal with the bigger guy and you were pretty sure there were others heading their way.
"Alright, let's get this over with" you taunted your enemy, though you were pretty sure they couldn't understand you. Either way they didn't hesitate to charge.
The battle was as controlled as chaos got, as battles like this usually were. Every blow could have left you mauled, but such was the life you all lived. And, if you were being honest, they weren't really much of a challenge. A minor inconvenience at most.
Bodies dropped and it seemed that you all would get through this quickly. It lessened your hope that there was anything in the locked room if these were the people guarding it. Either way their numbers dwindled and soon only two remained. Given that you currently had your axe handle thoroughly wrapped around the throat of one of them, that would soon be only one.
You had thought to go through the effort of breaking his neck before a quick glance showed Atreus in front of you, his arrow waiting for a mark.
"Atreus! Over here!" You called. A second later the stranger fell limp, an arrow embedded in his skull.
"Behind you!" Atreus yelled as you dropped the body in your arms. You dodged at the last moment, the strangers weapon hitting nothing but dirt and rock. He hardly had a chance to look up before Kratos' axe met the back of his head. And so he dropped limp atop the other, the bodies piling up.
Then, finally, it seemed that it was over.
"Clearly they don't want us in there. This has to be it" Atreus proclaimed with all the confidence and hope that you couldn't have imagined clinging to by his age.
"Back to it then" Mimir encouraged, though you couldn't help but feel a little bad for the soon to be dashed hopes of the boy.
"I don't know. I feel like if Odin was going to hide away a war god, it would be with far more than a few Einherjar..." you tried to caution them. This all felt far too easy.
"Agreed" Kratos spoke, but his blades dug into the wood anyway and soon he was pulling the door from its hinges.
You had to give credit where was was due, if there was one thing Kratos did well, it was tear things apart. So it wasn't a surprise when he did so easily. The door collapsed in a way similar to a tree; its movement slow at first before quickly colliding with the ground.
Dust covered your vision, your hands trying to swipe the cloud away and coughing as it still made it to your lungs. But soon it settled, bits of light traveling through the remnants of it searching for a source other than the thin clouds to reflect off of. Your eyes squinted through the strange haze when finally you saw someone. Before a moment more could pass as the three of you approached, you heard Atreus call out.
"Tyr!" The name sent your stomach to your throat as you realized that you did in fact now stand at the feet of a once dead god. You couldn't find words. You hardly believed what you were seeing. By every sane metric it shouldn't be, yet here you stood, steps away from who you had long known as legend told in stories of great acts of kindness and mercy. A betrayer of Aesir, a god of war who fought for his mission towards peace.
"What trickery is this, Odin? What game do you play with me now?" His head hardly moved and didn't dare raise to meet the eyes of any of you. He only sat, unmoving, uncaring.
"We're not with Odin. We're the good guys!" Atreus, ever the optimist, tried to convince Tyr that this wasn't some sort of trick. An attempt you knew was in vain just from a glance at the fallen god. It was then you noticed he was far from what he once was. A broken man with the fading visage of a legend among many.
You placed a hand on Atreus' shoulder to hold him back. The boy glanced up at you as you shook your head slightly, warning him to keep his distance.
Kratos wasted no time in getting behind Tyr and grabbing the rope that clung to his neck. With a pull the rope grew taught and a swift swing his blades cut threw it easily.
Far too easily.
"This...Is the god of war?" Kratos asked the question, though by his tone you knew he was far from impressed. You gave him a sharp look. That was surely no way to address someone who had spent hundreds of years hidden away at the mercy of God's as cruel as the Aesir.
"Those blades..." Tyr spoke, his eyes transfixed on the red glow that had cut him free. But then the eyes fell again, acceptance covering him.
"I know you..." his tone was full of subtle disdain.
"God-killer" his disdain no longer subtle. His eyes finally met Kratos
"Have you come for me now?" He asks, his resentment clear. His words weren't empty; he knew of the ghost.
"Only to free you-" your father tried reaching a hand.
"Stay away!" Tyr quickly coward from him as he moved himself away, his tone a beg for mercy in its own. Atreus tried to step in but your hand held him back once more. His look to you was full of confusion that you cooled with a patient stare.
"Brother, let me try" Mimir spoke up and Kratos didn't hesitate to give the man a chance.
"Tyr- Tyr! Look...You know me, don't you?" Mimir's voice was jovial, friendly even. Like he was meeting with an old pal under far less dire circumstances.
"You...You killed Mimir!" Well that certainly wasn't the reaction you had hoped for.
"No, no! No, no no no!" Mimir frantically tried to convince.
"Yeah we- we brought him right back!" Atreus, in his own set of frantics now, tried to calm the situation in the worst way possible. You pulled the boy away from Tyr as you saw things quickly going south.
"You...stay away from me, you monsters!" Tyr cried out, whatever previous confidence he held staring down the god-killer now utterly evaporated as he stumbles his way to his feet, bumping the door frame on his way out.
"Stop!" Atreus pulled from your grip and began to run after him, taking only a glance back to the three of you as he went to catch up.
"We need him!" He justified before booking it after him.
"Wait!" Kratos called as he took a spot beside you. The both of you barely set to a run before more of the Einherjar came down from above and out of crevices. You hardly had the time to see one attempt a push and pull match with Kratos when you have two on you. You struggle against them a moment, shifting your weight around until one falls to your heel, a quick stomp knocking them out before you were able to throw the other to the ground beside them, your axe splitting their skull just in time for you to look up and see Kratos shoved through some unstable wood and out of sight completely. And worse yet, he left three more up here for you to deal with.
Great. Looks like you've got to figure this out on your own.

DABIXFEM!READER
yall dont come for me with my inconsistencies please i am literally not having a baja blast rn
but you know what i am having? too many thoughts, as usual
warnings: NSFW MINORS DNI, PiV sex, f!receiving oral, overstim if you look hard enough, i am sleep deprived lol not proofread im so sorry-
Dabi, who could care less for the lives of others. who kills without thinking twice about it and had never had a single person he would worry about, not even himself. that is, until he meets you. sweet, soft, but feisty. he was whipped from the moment you glared at him because he was staring too hard. and the moment you gave in and let him have you, he gave you everything he had.
he is a man of few words, believing actions were more important anyways. so although he never told you he loved you, you could tell. it was in the warm baths waiting for you at home after a long day, or the (most likely stolen) flowers that sat on your kitchen counter at least once a week. it was in the kisses to the bridge of your nose in the morning or his hand that always found your waist whenever you both were out running errands together.
Dabi shows his love in letting you in, seeing him for all he is. the monster he sees himself as when he turns his enemies into nothing but ash. he shows his love when he tells you his real name with a grimace, the letters seeming to burn him like acid. but when you repeat it. "Touya.." it sounds so sweet, so right coming from your lips. its like you covered the two syllables in honey and sugar for him, dripping with the sticky goodness for him and only him to indulge in.
he shows his love in private, as he pins you to your couch in your living room, mismatches lips peppering all over your skin, soft and gentle at first, slowly progressing into deep passionate bites and sucks on your soft flesh, turning the skin a deep purple to match his burns in a much nicer way. he shows his love in the way he tears your clothes off of your body like they are offending him with their presence, and they are. how dare the measly pieces of fabric hide the body of the only girl he will ever love.
he shows his love as he dives between your folds, large hands warm as they borderline engulf your thighs in his hold, thumb rubbing soothing circles as he laps and sucks on your sensitive clit. he moans at your taste, almost instantly intoxicated by you. he spreads you open further to leave long licks from your hole up to your clit, a deep sigh leaving his nose as you tremble beneath him. he buries his tongue deep in your soaking hole, pushing it in and out of you as one of his thumbs keeps your little bud sensitive. he doesnt stop until you've given him everything you can, shaking and crying beneath him.
Dabi shows his love in every thrust of his hips, slowing sinking into you, sadistic smile on his pretty face as he watches your eyes roll back. his eyebrows pinch together as he mockingly fakes a look of sympathy.
"i-its too big"
'i know baby, i know. you can take it for me, cant you? yeah, just like that, good girl."
he doesnt stop fucking into your weeping and abused pussy, just barely holding himself over you on his forearms. he keeps your mouth occupied, sucking on your tongue, biting and nibbling on your pouty bottom lip, prying it open so he can spit in it. the room is filled with the sounds of your high pitched and whiny moans, and the sound of his cock slamming into you. his fingers are laced with yours, holding one of your arms above your head as his other hand holds your thigh to his hip, keeping you nice and open for him each time you cum.
you're reaching that peak again, writhing beneath your raven haired boyfriend, hips weakly trying to meet his forceful thrusts in a pathetic attempt to reach that high, only earning a soft chuckle.
"you close baby? yeah?" "y-yea- oh fuck Touya, please! wanna cum for you! please-ah-pleasepleaseplease-" "shh doll, go ahead." he angled his hips to hit that sweet spot inside of you, reaching between your legs to rub tight circles on your clit. he barely parts himself from your lips, leaving just a hair between you both as his hips thrust into your harder. your eyes roll back slightly and he breathes in every moan you let out, clenching around him so tights you've got him on edge. "fuck doll, just like that, squeezing my cock so good. cum on my cock, c'mon, cum for me." his words send you over edge, your back arching against him, pressing your chest to his, your vision going white as you cum, a creamy white ring decorating the base of your lovers dick so prettily. Dabi is quick to follow you over the edge, holding you down and fucking you through your high and into his, spilling himself deep inside your warmth, filling you up and fucking his essence right back into you, his hips slowly coming to a stop. he keeps himself situated in you as he leaves sloppy kisses up the hollow of your throat, bringing you back to him.
he shows his love when he slowly pulls out, picking you up anc carrying you to the bathroom to clean you up, your brain too fucked out to think for the rest of the night. he shows his love with the hot shower and hoodie he lets you use to sleep. shows his love when he tucks you in and pulls you close, mumbling a quiet 'did so good for me' into your damp hair, letting you fall asleep.

NSFW! SUB!SVT BEING NEEDY Genre: Smuff (Smut + Fluff lol) A/N: No gifs or pics of individual members due to media limit but enjoy cute jeonghan as header hehet | GN!reader Warnings: Adult and suggestive stuff not gonna list them all cuz we'll take the whole day when I list all
{Now playing: Kiss Me More — Doja Cat ft. SZA}
+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★+ ⁺ ˳ ★
⩩ Seungcheol — He's very vocal abt it. end of the discussion. Although, sometimes he's quite hesitant when telling you what he really wants but most of the time he's comfortable just telling you what he wants. He's very polite too! He understands your reasons really well so overall, best boy Cheol </3
⩩ Jeonghan — Contrary to what I said about Scoups, Jeonghan is blunt like he would just straight up tell you what he wants whenever, wherever he wants. Like you could be in a subway full of people and he'd just whisper to you to jerk him off there without any trace of shame on him. Oh, and he will also brat the shit out of you if he didn't get what he wants.
⩩ Joshua — Even tho he's very extraverted in nature, he's very quiet and introverted when the curtains were closed so he's really shy about what he wants especially if what he wants might upset you or you might reject what he wants. Shua is one of the goodest boys out there but as I said, he's shy abt it even though you two are technically dating for like centuries now so he takes the matter into his own hands that is why sometimes you catch him "bratting"
⩩ Junhui — Brat pt. 2 but he's the type of brat that would get scared/shy when you actually fight back against his brattiness if you catch my drift lol. Like for example, he'd test your patience by misbehaving while you're having an important meeting w/ ur boss then you'd grab his length, and BOOM! His cocky facade would be nowhere to be found.
⩩ Soonyoung — Believe it or not, he'd actually bottle his arousal and would rather not tell you. We all know how loud Hoshi could be I mean, he's a walking subwoofer I am so sorry. He's really shy when it comes to intimate stuff so he doesn't talk about it. Although what he does once in a full moon is show his neediness by innuendos and actions but that's about it.
⩩ Wonwoo — Another shy angel but he's the worst of them all because he never talks- HE NEVER SPEAKS AT LEAST 1 WORD ABOUT IT. At this point, studying him should be a major because damn, he never tells you when to help him but honestly, you just grew with it... You just know a needy Jeon Wonwoo when he starts to get quiet.
⩩ Jihoon — Tbh, you don't really know.......? He's inconsistent with his communication about intimacy. One day, he'd straight up tells you what he wants then act "needy" in front of you just to say he's just tired, he's a pandora's box. Even tho he's been like that to you, you still love him the most.
⩩ Seokmin — He's a mama's boy to you which he seems to agree to! This ray of sunshine just tells you everything because he knows you'll love and take care of him very well so he has no issues asking you to help him out politely. One thing, he's also the type to ask you embarrassed like he'd ask you to help him then he'd be a blushing mess and covers his face it's just uitfgkhhrerjtrtgm5rt-
⩩ Mingyu — He's like DK tbh, he loves it; he likes being spoilt by you. The only difference is when you give him the sign that you'll help him out, he's the one initiating the action and doing what he pleases but still giving you authority and control over him. As a thank you gift for taking good care of him, he'd return the favor to you makes you feel good too sometimes so it's mutual.
⩩ Minghao — Depends on his mood, actually. If he's on a good day, he'd politely ask you but when his day is not that good, he'd be a brat and a giant tease to you. He could be shy about it one day and then send you a pic of him wearing your panties while using a vibrator the next... It's hot to be honest because there's a toy waiting for you at home, waiting for you to just ruin.
⩩ Seungkwan — He's like Cheol but he hints at you by acting it out ykwim? He's not necessarily a brat, he does a lot and less talk. He's too shy to talk to you w/ that level of intimacy,,, no one knows why. Though, he communicates w/ u by hinting despite being shy. He becomes whiny when needy so when this boy whines over every single thing in this world, he's definitely needy
⩩ Vernon — He shows it by affection, let's start with that. He could be quiet sometimes but when you talk abt intimate relationships, he'd try to be on his best and be quick to initiate an act. When he gives you questionable amounts of acts of service and affection, you know something's going on
⩩ Chan — A confident baby, he's exactly like his DK hyung... Very verbal about it but he's confident abt things. He is the one who'll take the first move like kissing you at your favorite kissing spot, you'd take it at a first hint that he's needy and he'd give you acts of service. Then he'll say his true intentions without any shame at all which you love about him.

just sae, forever.
Tumblr media
♡⸝⸝ summary: poor you decided to replay ddlc, but instead you were stuck in an unideal situation. this is part two of just sae!
little note: i didn't expect my last post to get 30+ likes XD, i was never good at writing per se, regardless i'm delighted to see people enjoy my small short fic even if it wasn't that eye-catching. also, oftentimes i write for gn and fem readers and honestly.. i don't know which to use for this one. i guess it's up to you then reader ^_^ (small hints of inconsistent type of reader, reader's style and etc depends on her or their mood.)
Tumblr media
your perspective:
huh, it's been a few days after that unfortunate event.
was i just pranked? geez, hopefully it was. the shit that 'sae' pulled back there felt real as hell. even his dialogues sounded real.
i heard a knock on my apartment door and froze in place..
i haven't gone out in days, i think i already became a neet.
my legs dangled from my bed as i stood up, rushing to the front door, i opened it, expecting to get ai hoshino's fate.. but instead... ---
"it feels nice to see you in real life." that.. was sae's voice. or more realistically AND honestly, takahiro sakurai's voice.
i perked my head up, oh... he was, tall. obviously. what am i saying?
he pulled me into a sudden hug, he wore the same clothes when he appeared in the manga and anime.
i was speechless, this... couldn't be real. i was just being pranked, was i?
"why are you so quiet? why don't you speak up, love?" he looked at me lovingly, gosh, my single ass felt blood running to my cheeks.
"no way, you're real? here?! in flesh and blood??" i said, absolutely flabbergasted. he looked exactly like sae, but i was still in denial.
"why would you think that my words were just empty nonsense? i was being true to my words... and you." he shyly admitted. why was he so out of character?
"and, i may not seem like the cold person i was in the anime and manga, but i.. since i'm with you, after all those times in the literature club, i actually found happiness with you." he continued to speak.
"...yeah, let's, like, settle this inside." i brought him in my apartment, it wasn't too small, rather it was quite big. my job paid me really well and i was able to afford quite a luxurious and spacious apartment. those years in school really did pay off, haha.
sae sat on my comfortable white couch as he looked around, surprised. i dug into my pantry desperately searching for.. something.
i was really warming up to sae now, i mean, judging from my tiktok reposts i reposted videos and edits of him way more often than rin, sorry... rinrin...
my eyes caught sight of my life long worth of candy stash, it could last for like, decades. or more...
i happily hummed as i took a big basket full of candy, walking to the living room and placing it on the glass coffee table.
"what are you staring for sae? come on, i didn't bring this big basket of candy here for nothing." i shot him a smug smile, urging him to take one candy bar.
"it's nothing, i just never expected you to be this welcoming and kind.. i'm... grateful. thank you." he took a candy bar and peeled the wrapper open, taking a bite into the soft chocolate caramel.
he was secretly enjoying the candy bar, so i took one for myself and swallowed the candy bar whole after peeling the tight ass wrapper.
"riiight, since you're a famous footballer back in the bluelockverse, i guess you need to get used to getting pampered and taken care of by me since you have no job now, whatsoever. but to be frank, i don't care. it's nice to have someone around me after god knows how long!" i said out of the blue, eyes star-struck. i didn't know why, i felt happier when people were around me. but when i was with sae.. i felt.. like i was on cloud nine.
"...sae, i don't know why. but i like you, a lot." two lonely bitches staring at each other, that was us.
"i like you too, {name}... i like you, a lot more than you'd ever like me." gosh, this stings. what was i thinking? am i hallucinating or just crazy? i eyed sae sadly, a evident frown plastered on my face.
"i'll love you till the end of time, {name}." he smiled, shit, i felt butterflies in my stomach. is this true love? ironic since he was a fictional character that broke the barrier between fiction and reality.
maybe.. life with sae.. wouldn't be so bad.
we can do many things together, like drawing and painting. playing video games, and going out together. like a real couple would do.
i found myself slightly blushing a soft pink colour, i actually felt happy, with sae.
"...i love you, sae." i smiled at him lovingly, and he shot me a loving smile back.
i finally felt true happiness!
Tumblr media
author's note: might do a silly lil fic of reader and sae living life together as a happy couple, gosh, i'm a sucker for lovey dovey pairs wkdjskwksfr

Tumblr media
PERSONA 5 : THE PHANTOM X BETA - PART 1
NOTE :These translations are done using the Chinese version of the game, we apologize for any inconsistencies that may come with an official English release.
STATION ANNOUNCEMENT : The tram is steadily approaching the station. Please, for safety measures, step behind the yellow line and wait for the doors to open. Be mindful of the gap between the platform and the tracks.
-
WOMAN WEARING GLASSES : Alright, that concludes the class syllabus. Now please pass this career survey around the room. Remember to sign your name.
WOMAN WEARING GLASSES : Oh, and I'm sure MOST of you are intelligent enough to figure this out, but please refrain from using an online gamer tag or nickname.
WOMAN WEARING GLASSES : For example, I would write ; Kumi Katayama.
KUMI KATAYAMA : It may seem silly to explain it this way, but it will look bad on me if you kids mess up.
KUMI KATAYAMA : In any case, pass it around and sign your name!
-
WONDER : (There we go...I wrote my name...Huh...Suddenly, I feel really tired...)
-
Tumblr media
IGOR : Hehehe... He's the one, right?
MEROPE : Indeed. Welcome.
IGOR : This is what you can refer to as the "Velvet Room." Ah, I spoke before introducing myself. How rude. Please, call me Igor. As for this one over here, you may call her Merope.
MEROPE : It's a pleasure to meet you.
IGOR : This room is situated on the cusp between dreams and reality. Between the mental and the material. You have made a certain "choice", haven't you? That's why you have arrived as my special "guest."
WONDER : A choice?
IGOR : Yes. What I mean to say is, this is a "choice" you made of your own free will. Haven't you realized that yet? This room is not visible to just anyone.
MEROPE : This is an underwater tunnel in the sea of your mind.
IGOR : Without you even realizing it, you have shown me your desire for "curiosity." So, this concludes our meeting for now.
Tumblr media
IGOR : Oh, and last piece of advice : "Lack of desire" can often times lead to giving up on life...Please remember these words, for I wish to see you again in the future.
MEROPE : In a world like this, there are many individuals like you. I hope you can one day understand and appreciate Master's advice.
IGOR : Sorry for keeping you so long. Well then, I am looking forward to when next we meet. Hehehe...

PURPOSEFUL FEMALE STUDENT : Hey, Wonder, what's up with you? You look like you're thinking really hard about something.
PURPOSEFUL FEMALE STUDENT : Is this about your future plans...You still haven't looked into anything, have you?
WONDER : (Higher education...Employment...What will the future hold for me...?)
PURPOSEFUL FEMALE STUDENT : You still can't decide what you wanna do?
WONDER : For now.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Arai-san, do you have any questions?
Tumblr media
MOTOHA ARAI : Ah, Katayama-sensei...
KUMI KATAYAMA : I was informed that those of you students who refuse to check a career path on the sheet will be labeled as "lacking ambition." Let me take that.
She takes the career survey and returns to her desk.
MOTOHA ARAI : Katayama-sensei is making her angry face again...
KUMI KATAYAMA : That concludes today's class. You are dismissed.
KUMI KATAYAMA : ...Ah, before I let you kids go, there was another incident in the news recently.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Your school uniforms already make you stand out on the streets. Keep your heads down and be careful not to draw too much attention to yourselves. You might end up targets.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Now class is dismissed.
-
KUMI KATAYAMA : You boys nearly ran into me. Let me guess, you were playing games on your phone again?
Kumi Katayama is berating two students in the hallway outside of the classroom. She spots Wonder as he heads in their direction.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Ah, Wonder. One moment please.
KUMI KATAYAMA : You two may go without punishment, but remember to be more careful and pay attention to where you're walking.
The boys nod despondently and walk away.
KUMI KATAYAMA : The least they could do is apologize or make an excuse...It's like they don't care at all...
She turns her attention to Wonder.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Sorry for calling you over right after class dismissed. I promise not to take much of your time. It's just that I noticed you left all the boxes unchecked on your career survey.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Is there really nothing you care about or want to do in the future? You can write anything at all. For example, maybe you want to get famous? Or make a lot of money?
WONDER : Hopes for my future...
KUMI KATAYAMA : Yes, any hopes you have...It can even start small and simple...
KUMI KATAYAMA : .......
KUMI KATAYAMA : This is probably our fault as the adults and your instructors. We must not be setting good examples for you children...Ugh...I have a headache...
Tumblr media
WONDER : Katayama-sensei...?
KUMI KATAYAMA : Hm...? I-It's nothing. I have a lot I need to arrange for my next class. If you think of something to write, please do come tell me. Anytime.
KUMI KATAYAMA : Thank you for listening. Be careful out there.

Humming to yourself, you fight to keep your eyes open, arms still automatically bouncing Aryn gently. Not even her shrill cries seem to be enough to keep you up much longer. Normally, Viktor would have long ago taken over, but Heigmerdinger claimed an emergency. He has been gone since the early hours of the morning.
Sighing, you glance out of the high windows, the only light shining through them is the yellowish radiance of the street lamps just outside.
“Come on, sweet girl,” you whisper, voice thick with sleep, head lulling down to stare at her as you bounce her, her cries softening. “I know you need sleep- mama, too.” you must have been more tired than you realized because you didn't hear the sound of the door opening and closing, nor the tell tell sound of Viktor’s cane. In fact, you didn't notice him at all until his arm slid around your waist, chin coming to rest on your shoulder. Yelping softly, your head whips to look at him, clutching Aryn to your chest, heaving a deep sigh.
“Oh, Viktor,” you hum, offering him the best smile you can manage. The bags under his eyes nearly match your own. He smiles softly back, pressing his lips to your cheek. “Welcome home.”
“Hand her over, Dove,” he hums, moving to shift in front of you, opening his arms to the bundle wrapped to your chest. You frown, shaking your head.
“You must be exhausted,” you grouch, body already reaching to set her in his arms. He chuckles, pressing his lips to your forehead, cradling Aryn to him with one arm, the other holding you there for a moment, allowing him to breathe you in with a deep sigh.
“You more than myself, Dove. Please, you need rest. Go lie down,” he mumbles into your hair, rubbing his thumb behind your ear. “You deserve it.” sighing, you look down at her, her fussing lessening now that she is in his arms.
“Daddy’s girl,” you gripe playfully, grinning when his shoulders start to shake in laughter, knocking into your own.
“I will be with you as soon as she is asleep,” he promises, lips brushing just above your eye. Nuzzling into your temple, he lets go of you in favor of taking hold of his cane once more. “I crave nothing more than sleep, as well.” sighing, you nod, pressing a quick kiss to the corner of his mouth before heading towards the bedroom. Before you're even able to flop onto its surface, you hear the soft groveling sound of your parents’ record player clicking in the background before a familiar tune starts. Smiling to yourself, you cuddle under the blankets, dozing off listening to Viktor sing to Aryn gently, her cries dying down quickly.
You wake a few hours later to the soft patter of rain, and the gentle cooing of Aryn in the next room. Blinking the sleep from your eyes, you push yourself up, looking to your side. Viktor didn't make it to the bed. Sighing softly, you shake your head with a smile as you stand to make your way to the living room. Once there, you have to stifle your laughter, seeing Aryn swaddled and placed gently in the portable bassinet Viktor and Jayce had designed for her, eyes open wide, chattering away to her father who is lying half on the couch, arm thrown over his eyes, mouth ajar, a soft snore acting as ambient noise for the now bustling baby girl who has locked eyes with you.
Allowing yourself a soft laugh, you sneak over to her, tugging her to you.
“Shh, let’s let papa rest, little one. He needs it.”
