“i think he’s doing well, nan,” you replied, a forced smile plastered on your face, “we haven’t talked much lately. just… taking things slow.”

your grandparents exchanged a glance, before nodding in response; their expressions softening in a way that hinted at understanding. thankfully, they didn’t push further, allowing the topic to come to an end.

you exhaled quietly — relieved — focusing back on the pasta. the last thing you needed tonight was a deep dive into a relationship you were still internally attempting to figure out.

In addition to Holt McCallany, Maria Bello, and Jake Weary, Melissa Benoist has officially joined the cast of Netflix’s “The Waterfront.” According to Deadline, Benoist will portray Bree Buckley, a woman struggling to rebuild her life after alcohol derailed her future—just like her father.

The star-studded cast also includes Dave Annable as Wes Larsen, a developer whose interest in Mae Buckley goes beyond business, and Topher Grace as Grady, a man eager to strike a deal with the Buckleys. The series is created by Kevin Williamson, known for co-creating “Dawson’s Creek” and “The Vampire Diaries.” Ben Fast of Outerbanks Entertainment serves as an executive producer, while Marcos Siega directs the first two episodes.

The casting department currently features Kimberly Wistedt as the local casting director.
