not quite sure how to run one of these, but I'll figure it out! to start off with the status:

Hey, sorry for just now getting around to this! I'm not sure actually, I know certain system blogs do sourcecalls ("looking for sourcemate from _____" type posts) but we're not sure of which ones now that @/fictive-culture-archive has been down... maybe we could start doing them?

heya, I go by Ciel and have some headmates who have been looking for people who are from the hit Dreamalgia's oddity obscura verse, we got Bailey (she/they/he/him) and Ash (they them) both are not like their source, Bailey is just a hyperactive fictive who is HIGHLY social and Ash is uhhhh ash. we havea discord NullifiedTowne#9755 and are 17+ until next year where the body turns 18, if discord doesnt work we also have twitt

Main reason is for alters who do Identify with their source and hold psudomemories, they wish to find those who share those memories and also identify with their source so they don't feel alone in the disconnect they have with the body, so they can have some sense of familiarity related to where they came from to cope with the environment they formed into.

Introjects aren't their sources yes, we don't like when people treat us like fictional characters, but when your identity is formed around one thing and it's hard to seperate especially if you're still in an unhealthy environment the system is trying to cope with, having something like that to latch onto can help even if for a short time until you can learn to seperate if you wish to.

All I can offer for advice to systems doing this like we did is that if you can't search for sourcemates from systems you already know and are friends with, be careful about it and stick to interacting with systems who are around the same age bodily as you are, minors especially be careful with this.

There are plenty out there who would and have exploited this vulnerability. So I understand the concern people have about it.
