𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐂’𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐎 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 -𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒 super freighters were a sniveling wail from what their name suggested. by design, the ship was no succulent queen fit to rule systems with a doonium fist. nor was the construction fit to brush against the hull of the word “super”, even as a darkly dressed joke. little more than a scrap heap cobbled together to capitalise on cheap niches in the galactic marketplace, ghtroc industries sold what little soul they had when they decided to not only release their deathtrap, but pollute the market when the false empress failed to earn back their investment.

      with no weapons and only flimsy shields to her name, ghtroc’s infamy was meant to transport fifty-thousand metric tons of mercantile. and, at best, eight passengers. only eight. yet twisted remains of a mediocre fleet of these damnable freighters were scattered across the beach and well into the shallows. each had been overstuffed with tarsunt refugees in the place of replaceable cargo. as per the resistance's last contact with the captain, the freighters were successful in bypassing a first order blockade.

      but those pretty smuggler tricks that could outwit tyrants proved paltry against nature’s wrath.

      wreathed in beads of blood and sweat, rain stood transfixed by a small arm protruding from beneath a smoldering slab of wreckage. the fingers looked so small, curled into an ochre palm. the hapan had never seen a tarsunt in the flesh before, but he imagined that a hand that size belonged to . . .

      a sigh shuddered from the damp cloth shielding his lungs from the smoke. his breath tasted of metal.

      the small retinue of rebels rain had accompanied to meet the refugees were already at work searching for survivors. rain doubted they’d find any. not on the shoreline. escaping the morbid pull of the scene before him, rain’s attention turned to the demarcation of deep water. if there were any still alive, the sea would not tell him. she had no intention of sharing her catch.

      even more heroes arrived, summoned by the unanswered prayer of a distress signal. uniforms bled together as the rescue team broke around him. only one stood out among them. rain never looked, focus returned to the fingers growing paler by the second. he identified the man by the attitude in his boot-falls alone.

i know ive said wc isnt really a main interest for me but something I am very disproportionately angry about and think about often is how much of a waste of a prefix sparkpelt is. like spark was a great prefix and they just used the most generic suffix in the series with it. there was so much potential and they just threw it away.

What if I just

(Miles) Sparkflight- nightrain-wing (usually appears black like a regular nightwing, but particularly likes using his rainwing power of color change to blend into environments. He has future sight powers, but he hasn’t harnessed them very well yet.)

(Gwen) Snowdance- icerain-wing (she has Snow White scales that look water colored blue and pink in some places. usually they’re very light, easy colors in the eyes, they rarely change to anything too harsh unless she’s really emotional. She treats her scales like a canvas.)

(Hobie) Ivy- rain-wing (lets his scales change color freely, no one really knows what his base scale pattern is like because he’s not one to cover up the emotion in his scales)

(Pavitr) Petrel- skyrain-wing (similarly to Swordfish, he only has select scales that can change color, but he really likes changing them. His base scale color is a true red tone, and he usually has blue and gold highlights on the scales he can change.)

(Miguel) Swordfish- Searain-wing (like a dark, dark blue, where only his light up scales change color. Being one of the only seawing he uses that to his advantage and communicates with himself under his breath with his light up scales. He basically looks like an rgb keyboard lmao.)

(Jess) Stardrift- night-wing (a dark, violet-black scaled dragon, her star scales on her wings look like shooting stars. Mind reader.)

(Peter B.) Petalite- sky-wing (average red skywing who’s adorned with little trinkets)

(Mayday) Malachite- skywing (a bright red flamescale, Petalite made everyone gloves that they can put on their talons to hold her.)

(LYLA) Limpet- lucky for her she’s the only human (scavenger, in this case). One of swordfish’s. . . Friends. . . found her one day and decided not to eat her so she (the friend) gave her to him as company. She thinks Swordfish is her pet dragon, Swordfish thinks she’s his pet scavenger. Everyone is very confused in this scenario.

(The Spot) Polka Dot: fucked up little rainwing who somehow got his hands on an animus talisman. Oops.

(Margo) Seawhisper- nightsea-wing (she’s a dark blue, lighter than Swordfish for reference, and has very gorgeous ombré sky blue to light violet light up scales. She has mind reading powers :3)

(Kingpin) Strongwings- big fuckin nightwing. Like huge. If you think Swordfish looks big for a dragon you’re not prepared to see this guy— er— this corpse, I guess. He’s dead.

They’re all connected through being animus. Other than Strongwings and Polka Dot, of course.

See it as like.. the talons of peace but everyone is less mentally stable.

I’ll come up with their dragon names later probably, and I might draw a few of them.

Didn't find this by searching, so I don't think anyone has said yet that Sparksfly works! I just realized that a couple days ago.

Sparksfly could work. Flight is the word that's been used in-canon as a suffix, so Sparkflight might be more likely. Very pretty and cute name.

Hey all, hope everyone's weekend has been fantastic! I've been a very busy little menace and I figured it was time for an update on what exactly it is I've been doing!

To start with, I have to come clean on something that people have probably already figured out - my muse has been low in a lot of areas and the ones I'm interested in have been more niche than I'd like. It's been a bit frustrating that I love the characters I have on this multi, but I can count on one hand how many I actually feel up to writing right now, so I've opted to pull a few characters off of the multi onto solo blogs to put more of a spotlight on them!

What this means: This blog may regrettably be quieter, but I will be sliding in here still to write characters as the muse strikes. Right now, the highest inspiration is in my horror muses, so if you'd like Mark Kincaid, Jim Hopper or Jonathan Byers, please let me know! This can change at any time and I have both drafts and asks to start sliding out as the mood strikes! Don't hesitate to bug me if you're interested in something - hype is contagious!

What this doesn't mean: I'm abandoning this blog, so long, bye! I'm not, I swear! I love this thing way too much to give it up, it's my brand!

DESIGN NOTES

ok so this was originally posted on my main blog as a cat-ified version of a homestuck character (yes yes i know), but i realized i liked the designs too much to just not use them again, so some of them will be posted here as background characters. i’m going to be careful to make sure they’re distinctly different characters, but if i’m wrong to do so please let me know.

that said, he has the exact same eye color as his father, grandfather, and daughter

also inherited spiky fur and bent tail from his dad

ears too got dam big, top teeth also too got dam big

small square chin, triangle nose, and strong hind legs

lean and sort of lanky

short list of personality traits: irritable, skittish, quiet, loyal, workaholic, spacey, witty, prideful, usually has good intentions at heart

son of lightningclaw and shellfang. his mother was exiled for treason when he was around 4 moons old, and even before then, he was always aware of how poorly she treated his father. while shellfang was never explicitly unkind to sparkkit, he’d witnessed how easily she turned on others when she didn’t get her way, and so he learned early on to walk on eggshells around her. after her exile, lightningclaw moved into the nursery to care for him until he was apprenticed, and the two grew very close. after sparkpaw became an apprentice, his father was called away by starclan to go on a journey, but for all sparkpaw knew he was dead or chased out by the halfclan-hating thunderclan and riverclan leaders. during this time, he confided a great deal in his mentor, swiftspring, and found comfort in the shadowclan apprentice russetpaw.

he was ecstatic when lightningclaw returned alive and well, and even prouder when his father became deputy. he gained his warrior name, sparkflight, for his skill in navigating the tallest of treetops, but even afterwards he continued to meet russetshine in secret. their relationship became more open after the battle with foxstar resulted in a more relaxed following of the warrior code, and a few moons later russetshine was pregnant. although of course she loved them, she wasn’t ready to raise kits alone and loved shadowclan too much to move to skyclan, so sparkflight brought his children to be raised as skyclan, with occasional visits to see their mother at the border. he became one of skyclan’s most trusted warriors and remained close with his family, helping lightningstar in his old age, maintaining a relationship with russetshine, and raising his kits the best he could.
