You think it's easy, livin' off the sea? You think it's all lobster claws and cocktails on the deck? We work our asses off, man. We bleed for every penny.

I just realized that Spartina design actually looks like a hare instead of a rabbit. With the more long muzzle and slend body.
And now i have the random headcanon that Darkhaven rabbits are actually hares. Wich would explain why their designs are so different from the rest of the rabbits we've seen. Like, they are anormaly bigger and others have long muzzles with slender bodies. That would also make sense with the idea that they are much more aggressive than other rabbits, that their "warren" is not really a warren and of course, that they do not seem to follow the rest of the values, ideals and behaviors of rabbits.
I don't know, it works for me.

Don’t hate me for OOC! I tried my best…
————
Off the coasts of Sparta, in a small island once the shrine to Athena, broken and litter with the horrifically grandiose tender status of blissful hubris of mortal woes, was the lair of the only mortal Gorgon. For those Greek heroes who fall onto this island they would think this is a old shrine to Hecate, statues made from Daedalus’ own hands, details etched with perfect precision.
The marbles were well warn down to it’s white base hollow flat color only seen in the crevasse of the folds of marbles. A lone figure lives there abandoned by the gods, by all the gods, by the very goddess he worshipped, left to rot on a lifeless hideous island. The beach were rocky and new, filled with old rotting ships bobbed up and down some lossly drifting around the island, the locals call it The Fool’s Grave.
Sun-kissed and specialed with iridescent scales, and built like Achilles himself walked a lone figure, in robes of blue and gold, did he walk, past the Forrest of stone he made. Those statues of men were his only comfort for normality, if only they weren’t staring in fear, fear of him. He was cursed for a life of loneliness and isolation, waiting for a Heracles to slice his head off. He was curse to stay on the island, for no boats will move pass the shore, as even Poseidon does not wish to offend Athena.
A low rumble, scrapping of rocks and he knew their was another hubris hero coming for him. He turns around to find, a tall almost Harclean man standing there, impressive and broad, cover in dark leather armor, dark almost black cape, with a spartina helmet plums of black horse hair. A spartan is here to kill him. As this giant of a man, maybe a child of a god, maybe a son of Zeus was here to kill him.
He was No coward for every statue was a signs to the gods, a sign that he still live that all their heroes all their oracles and quest meant nothing to his hate and vengeance. He knew all these heroes that come were sent by the gods to die. These heroes full of pride and glory will all turn to fearful stone. The low hisses of his snakes were the only sound besides the dull beat of his heart in his chest. The man looms closer, foot steps sinking into the sandy soil.
He let out a familiar sign and his gaze rised, his cool almost white eyes meet, a void. Darkness except for the intense gaze of the Spartan.
He waited. And waited. But nothing arises.
The hero was inches away, a head taller, head bent staring down at him. It was almost embarrassing.
“You… You can stare at me?” The gorgon asks.
The hero drew his sword.
‘So this is how it ends?’ That was the only thought in Johnny’s head as the sword cleave through his neck. The world went sideways, but the gaze of that hero never blinked, never waiver. Maybe… If only.

Here's my (probably only, sadly) post for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week! Originally made for Andrewism's 2023 Solarpunk Art Collab!
This digital painting depicts the Southern Great Lakes Ecoregion, within the Interior Plateau & Southern Great Lakes Forests Bioregion, within the Temperate Broadleaf and Mixed Forest Biome.
I chose a suburban setting for this piece because I've not yet seen a Solarpunk artwork that features this. I'm aware of the problems with the suburbs, but it seems to me more sustainable to try to adapt them than to demolish them and start over. So instead of lawns I've depicted beds of native Indiana plants, including but not limited to:
Amsonia Tabernaemontana (Eastern Bluestar)
Spartina Pectinata (Prairie Cordgrass)
Echinacea Purpurea (Purple  Coneflower.
The roofs of the houses are either white to help reflect heat, or green roofs. Some of the houses are equipped with solar panels on the south sides, and one is shown with a greenhouse on that side as well.
While perhaps not explicitly ecologically focused, I have shown there to be more art in this setting than is usually found in american suburbia. The sidewalk has a mural painted with hydrochromic paint, which only appears while it is raining. The houses are painted bright colors (white or greige is  considered  'Normal' ) and are occasionally decorated with murals.
This particular area is among the cloudiest in the so-called U.S.A. To reflect that, the weather is overcast and it is currently raining.
Hope y'all enjoy this, and Happy Solarpunk Aesthetic Week!

Some 1999 Watership Down OC stuff, so here's the offspring of Hazel x Primrose, Bigwig x Spartina, and Campion x Blackberry (well ok not entirely OC's since Mallow, Snowdrop, and Gilia are canon characters but you know)
Btw Zen's name comes from my personal speculation that zen MIGHT be the lapine word for "dew", if Hyzenthlay's ("shining dew fur") name is any indication

Couldnt sleep last night so I watched cording videos. The Spartina pectinata on the property line was getting pretty tall for neighborly borders, so cordage!
2 yards of sturdy cord, not too bad for baby’s first grass cordage

Happy Audio Drama Sunday, friends! Very quiet listening week for me as I'm still on my Murderbot audiobook relisten (don't even say the word "Skarsgard" to me 🤢) but I did get a couple of eps under my belt!
First up @the-mistholme-museum my beloved. Loved the latest ep and especially the gorgeous visuals of the umbrella story. plus there's really nothing like a little bit of rich-kid endangerment to brighten up your week 😍
i also caught up on Modes of Thought in Anterran Literature (who I don't believe are on Tumblr - shout if you know otherwise!) it's such a brilliant, immersive show, with fabulous naturalistic performances from everyone involved.
and finally i got chance to the last two episodes of @eelerschoice! a bittersweet but fundamentally hopeful end to the season, and i can't get enough of the world-building and the magic system. also, spartina sawbones is my soulmate 🦈🔥
