Lucky Charm: Basically like the show except she has to tap a ladybug brooch at the base of her neck

Miraculous Cure: Webs of hers that allow her to give her healing factor and the ability to share it if and when she chooses

Is limited to the people that are in contact with the web

The healing is strained and will slow the more people there are

Magical Charms: Items she can hand out to boost the morale and luck of her allies

Venom: Utilizing a group of bees, she can paralyze anyone she wants

Into the Bugverse

I am SUPER excited about this idea, but it's in very early stages (no actual snippets to share, just some disjointed points I'll fill in right now). It is, as you might guess, a riff on Into the Spiderverse. A bit of crack taken seriously where the multiverse is all the fics on Ao3.

We begin with a universe in which Marinette is navigating not to disappointing her parents, who want her to learn the family trade.

Chat Noir, who fought alone most of his life before Marinette was recruited (think of this as kind of a plot divergent Hey, Ribbons by childoflightningg aka @peggiecarter aka @annaethchase), has died (he was Felix Agreste). She's all alone as LB now. The whole of Paris mourns him.

She also meets the new kid, Adrien, and a new Chat Noir shows up. Suddenly, pulled through the "bugverse" into her own world is an older Marinette from another fanwork, possibly Semantitheft's L'Oublie Marinette. They bond while fighting the big bad (imagine a vibe kind of like @leviaana's wonderful comic about Minibug, the jaded older LB who still loves her younger self).

At a low moment for them, other Marinettes get pulled into her world, all from other fanfics. Maybe

a paranoid @buggachat BEAU Marinette or mistrustful one from @wackus-bonkus-maximus One Does Not Love Breathing

Maybe a Marinette from a Coffee Shop AU like Allez savoir pourqois by Yilena who has no powers but is still smart

Or possibly a blog AU like Chat Noir's Miraculous Award for Truly Magical Food by @mommadon. Non-magic Marinette will receive a miraculous as a temp hero!

Marinette from a fic where she's pregnant as fuck but still fighting (the one I'm thinking of it's kind of a twist she gets pregnant later on, so I won't mention it).

Definitely Marinette from Ghost in the Machine by @jheqiawrites alongside her AI companion Adrien.

Possibly an akumatized Marinette

At some point in the fighting, we find out that Adrien died young in this universe and Papillon and Peahen are the enemies, and they're trying to get the miraculous to wish him back to life.

The Adrien in this universe is actually from a universe where Marinette/Ladybug is dead, and OMG, Marinette, he's Chat Noir!!!! Possibly from Hamburger Ladybug by @raspberrycatapult or from Last Wishes by @kasienda

Blah blah save the world, everyone returns to their universes. Hint at sequel that brings in other fanfics' Ladybug versions! Do we get a transdimentional love story?? Who knows? I DO!! (I don't.)

I think there's something of an ethical issue for me about using other people's Marinettes for my story, but I think if it's crack it's more OK (it's somewhat like parody) than if I were creating spinoffs with the same tone. BC to be honest, I suspect none of the BNFs would ever see a message from me asking permission. Better to beg forgiveness, right?

Miraculous: Bachelorette Edition

Alya, sick of watching Marinette flounder into her 20s, unable to confess to Adrien, submits her friend in secret as a potential Bachelorette for a reality TV show where many men vie for her hand. Through the magic of crack, a bunch of guys from the show end up contestants: Adrien (his father made him), Luka (he's pan so why not?), Nathaniel (STILL IN DENIAL about his feelings for Marc), Theo the sculptor with the bad soul patch, etc. Oh, and much to Ladybug's annoyance, Chat Noir is also a contestant?!

All of Paris is begging for Pajamagirl x Adrien Agreste

This is going through revisions in my head, but the initial kernel that is actually written down in my WIPs is

Ladybug falls in a crowded area and unconscious, de-transforms. Someone takes their camera out. "Don't you fucking take that picture. Hawkmoth can't know who she is!" Some teen girl "Is that Pajama Girl? Annette, I think that's Pajama Girl!" "OMG Charlotte, you're right! "Wait, didn't Adrien say in an interview that his celebrity crush is Ladybug?" "Dude didn't I see that Chat Noir took her on a date to Andre's?" Marinette wakes up surrounded by people, freaks out. "Don't worry girl, we're not gonna tell anyone, and no one took any pictures. Your secret's safe. Later that day, Annette and Charlotte get #adrienshoulddatepajamagirl trending on social media. Gabriel, who turns out to have been full of SHIT when he told Marinette that he determines what the public wants, pressures Adrien to date his Very Good Friend for the brand.

Miraculous LB/CN Movie: Multiverse Notes

Based on the movie having differences in not only plot, but worldbuilding laws set up in the show, I’d like to propose the perspective that the movie is in a different universe than ours (the show). This is less of a theory and more just me wanting to point out some interesting things I saw when watching with this pov. I hope you all enjoy!

Canon Events

Using the logic from Spiderman: Across The Spiderverse, we can gather that multiversal laws have canon events for every version of a like character. Ladybug And Cat Noir presented a few of those when compared to Miraculous Ladybug. Let’s talk about them.

Alya:

She is meant to be the first person to document the new Holders’ first battle. It’s a shaping moment for her (and sometimes Marinette too, though it isn’t a canon event for LB). 

Marinette:

Obviously it’s becoming the miraculous holder, but quickly after, she has a more notable canon event: rejecting the miraculous. I saw this as a canon event because its sameness made me realise how significant to her this decision, and then the decision to rejoin the fight, is for her growth. Realising she is capable is huge for her.

Adrien:

Losing his mom. This may seem obvious, and it is, but I want to discuss how it affects him differently in this universe in the next section. (Other than the upcoming notes though, this obviously is what shapes his relationship with his father, and it’s also a CE for Gabriel as well, launching him into his next arc.)

Differences (and significance)

Aside: Okay so first let’s address the butterfly in the room: changes in the moth miraculous. I’ve been seeing a lot of people on twitter discuss how it was presented as evil/chaotic by a default in this movie, and when I watched sadly I agree. This falls under the “changes to the world laws” umbrella I mentioned earlier, and it didn’t worsen the story, but I also feel like it could’ve been better used as an opportunity to show how the power isn’t bad and it’s the holder’s responsibility to use it for good. I feel that would have been a better lesson. Anyway, back to theory.

The biggest difference I noticed was in a specific scene with Adrien and Gabriel, where Adrien talks back and even shouts at his father, and it really caught me by surprise. But then I realised why.

Adrien in this universe isn’t a sentimonster.

It’s not a canon event, it’s one of the things which makes him different than ours. Here, he’s able to go through the teenage angst that comes with his age and with losing a mom (and having that as your dad). 

Lastly, I’d like to point out other differences in the world, broken into two categories for ease of reader 😌

Character Differences:

Nino never had a crush on marinette (that we know of), and it seems like he did on Alya :)

Marinette isn’t blubbering-nervous, she’s quiet/shy-nervous around Adrien (an improvement, I think we all agree)

Kwami’s personalities ! (explored more in World Law Differences)

Gabriel both A) did more damage as a villain while B) caring more as a father, both of which were equally jarring

if you’re confused about A, the mime literally pulled out a(n invisible) gun multiple times o.o

World Law Differences: (mentioned earlier)

Holders’ Powers: To my knowledge, the Holders don’t have a time limit after using their powers

Furthering that point, and this may be debated, but I don’t think their powers work the way we’re used to.

We never see any holder use their trigger word, and it doesn’t seem to be a one-time or limited thing, it’s contraints are just the Holder’s willpower and physical endurance for what they’re doing

Other miraculous might not exist, it might just be the main 7 (fox, bee, moth, turtle, peafowl, and ladybug/chat noir)

This is implied by the intro sequence, and also I thought I noticed the miracle box being shorted in my watch through, though that might be just me

Kwamis are able to be physically present while Holders are transformed (doesn’t affect much but I found it interesting)

They also acted wiser, Tikki and Nooroo having moments of sober seriousness that was wildly different than what we’re used to.

Guardians of The Miraculous might have powers of their own which we just didn’t have time to explore. (This could’ve also just been the creators wanting him to be mysterious with no intended lore implications)

Implied chaos around the Moth Miraculous (this is mostly just in the intro though, the rest of the movie it’s Gabriel who’s responsible for the bad stuff rather than it being inherent)

There is still something to say here about power corrupting, we don’t know how much of it was him or the miraculous, and that does bug me :/

Power ups likely don’t exist in this world too, given what I mentioned about the power-constraints being different; The holders likely are able to handle extreme circumstances naturally when transformed, and if they can’t (like the lava scene) that’s because it is too much for them.

Contacting holders was significantly easier here since they were able to receive (vague) notice while detransformed; I liked that :)

I havent seen the new spiderverse yet but if a Canon event is what sets you up on your journey to be a hero then Mari's Canon Event was Alya's speech in Origins and not the fckin spiders

So the way it's set up is that Canon Events are things that every Spider-person goes through. It's not specifically their Origin, but they do all share that. There's multiple Canon Events. Like yes becoming a Spider Hero, the death of a loved one, and the one addressed in the movie directly is the death of a police captain they know/are familiar with.

So both are the Canon Event for Mari?

Hi anon!!

Oh, nonono, that's not what it is. For some fandoms, I prefer to write just canon couples. Idk, I just like the canons more? For example, in MLB, I'll write any version of Ladybug x Catnoir (Adrianette, Marichat...) and Alya x Nino, as well as all the other canon couples, but I won't do things like Lukanette or Adrien x Chloe or something.

And on the fandoms were it's stated that non-canon ships are allowed, I don't specifically like them any more than the canon ones, it just means that you can request canon, and non canon couples. Like in Spider-man: Spiderverse, there's not many canon couples, so you can request even the non canon ones!

I don't really have a preference, I just want to give you guys more options in some fandoms!!

in the miraculous spider-verse au i have deciDED that every ladybug has a slightly different power bc its more fun that way. (imagine every ladybug in battle in the new universe and they all just conjure up random objects, like yay you all got cleaning surprise, go apeshit)

Marinette: she has your standard lucky charm, because I like what it means for her character. She’s extremely smart and resourceful, and even when the world is collapsed on it’s head, she will find a way to save it even if she has to use a plastic fork to do it.

I’m also giving her an extra power, a Good Luck blessing she can use on whatever to improve its chances of [insert something battle relevant here], whether that be making a building Not Fall Down after being wrecked, or a civillian remaining hidden when the akuma is searching for them, basically just Concentrated good luck.

She’s the most agile and experienced out of all of them. Because of the nature of her powers, she’s very easy to underestimate, but trust me she WILL kick your ass.

The concept of Creation and destruction in this universe is most similar to how it is in canon, being more strictly aligned with luck and intellect.

Alya: explosions. like mini supernovas. Bursts of pure creative energy. It’s tied to her energy levels, so she can’t tire herself out with it. But she is incredibly OP. She is fighting more monstrous things, her main antagonist being Mayura and senti-monsters being the main threat. So she can go more “all out”, but the stakes do tend to be higher because both sentimonsters and Ladybird herself tend to uh... wreck the place. And she needs her miraculous cure at the end to put everything back. 

Creation and Destruction in this universe is more like Light and Dark in this world, so its powers are sort of based off that take. 

Adrien: Vitality! i like him having the power to heal, but also to buff up and make himself stronger. I like him having a strength based power as well, bc under the mask, Adrien is very much a push over. In his universe, his dad is dead and his mom is a wreck because of it (and she’s secretly a villain bc of it too). But he does treat everyone like they’re fragile (like his mother), trying his best to make everyone happy, and i like him standing up for himself and in extension, for the people of Paris. 

Creation and destruction in the adribug universe might be more like health and elimination, and the powers follow that line of thought.

Nino: I like Nino being associated with protection, so i’ve decided he can create physical barriers out of creative energy that can be maintained so long as he has energy. He can use them to protect or attack, and his yoyo weapon would be more like a giant yoyo shield thing. After an upgrade, he can also use it to make paths/ramps and he can skate along them with his shield board thing (kinda like frozone in the incredibles), making him incredibly mobile! So cool creation barrier thingies!!!! After another another upgrade, he can maybe shape the energy more to make weapons or objects, but i doubt they can be maintained for very long being so compact etc. 

I also like him being a generator for small bolts of electricity, just for a lil added Miles Morales venom type spice. yknow, for the aesthetic. 

They ALL have the miracle cure because its integral to the THEMES which i may ramble on about a bit later. either way im actually really hyped abt this. yall chloe lovers can make your own hcs about ladybug chloes powers bc i don wanna take that away from u uwu

Into the Miracuverse

After seeing into the spiderverse I couldn’t help but think about Ladybug because her mode of travel is so similar to Spider-Man so Miracuverse au sounds like another story I will never start. Let’s go.

First off, I thought that it would be fitting to have the ladybugs from other dimensions would be some of the popular fan made ladybugs. Because let’s be honest, they kinda of are.

Starting off, I would have our Marinette that we know and love as our Peter B Parker. Now I know it would be popular for her to be the Miles character, but we’ve known her for over 3 years now and she is the canon ladybug. On top of that, I found out that Peter hobo uncle Parker was based on the main series that was issued in the comics. And just like the movie, I imagine Marinette aged up in the miracuverse, making her Mominette™️.

Next would only be fitting to have the common fan fav of Ladybeetle, as our Gwen Stacy character. Adrien and Gwen are so parallel to Peter and Marinette it’s kinda crazy. I think this was an instant fit.

For spider-ham I considered just having straight up tikki in human form, but, I think more of the fan made ladybugs are needed. So, the most fitting comedic oc to challenge the absurdity of spider-ham is @ladyblargh ‘s Pizzabug. Let’s be honest, this is better than just having tikki there.

Peni Parker’s ladybug shall be @zoe-oneesama ‘s Scarlet Lady. They don’t have any similarities whatsoever, but I just love the idea of Scarlet actually being forced to help just so she can go back home because that’s where she can go back to being #thebest(bitch). Like I feel that the experience would knock her down a peg after meeting the other ladybugs and that they see through her fake persona instantly.

Spider-Noir’s pairing was originally going to be a chat noir who somehow got caught up in the mix, but then I would miss out on adding @lunian ‘s Ladybird who’s au is so cute and I love the brotp she’s formed between ladybeetle and chat noir.

Now for Miles’ ladybug, would be from another generation, just like he was. As in, there was another Marinette, an older one, who couldn’t be Ladybug anymore. Insert: @toriitorii ‘s next gen au with Lottebug!

In all honesty, we could have a younger Marinette as miles and Bridgette as Peter b Parker too. That’s the beauty of the Miracuverse, it’s limitless.
