Why HOW COULD YOU is set in a spring semester of college!

I wrote about this a bit in my newsletter that went out this morning. It's fully spring in Portland, which is my favorite season, and it has me reflecting on the spring melancholies!!

The way that we structure graduation in the spring (the end of a whole chapter of life) while the world is waking up has always been so interesting to me. Stressing about what comes next for you while flowers are blooming… I can't get enough of that dissonance!

last days of winter break edition

Friday, January 3rd - Sunday, January 5, 2025: All of my bones ache so bad. I hate flying. I hate interrupting my routine. It's so jarring. I feel so out of place right now. Also I had a 4 hour layover??? Crazy actually. I had a good weekend after that, though.

Accomplishments (1/3): ✶ Words written: 000 (start: 000 ; end: 000) ✶ Survived the airport ✶ Re-united with my cat!!!!! ✶ Unpacked most of my stuff ✶ Made my to-do lists for tomorrow Accomplishments (1/4): ✶ Got friend's chair out of my room ✶ Did my laundry (sheets and carpets) ✶ Put my clothes away ✶ Organized under bed ✶ Unpacked last suitcase ✶ Deep cleaned desk area ✶ Vacuumed ✶ Swept and wiped down bathroom floor ✶ Decluttered desk drawers Accomplishments (1/5): ✶ Uploaded most of my clothes to my closet app ✶ Cleaned out my wardrobe ✶ Painted my nails ✶ Rested a bit

I barely wrote at all the past couple of days, but I am just so tired. The sun rises an hour later here. even though it's the same time zone, so it's been throwing me off. Classes start tomorrow, so I have to prepare for that mentally. I am just stressed I guess.

And the photo was taken at the very end of a semester (zoomester, actually, the covid times). I can still sense the freedom for that specific time period. University was very harsh on me. But here we are :')

On god, this semester is my academic comeback. manifesting good study habits and strong self-discipline.

I got my cumulative due dates spreadsheet all set up before classes officially start in the morning, and I got my new desk all decorated and tidy so I feel motivated to study. I'm feelin really optimistic!!

Elements of Astrophysics (finally!!!)

Methods of Experimental Physics

Object-oriented programming

Philosophy of Science

Guys, u can celebrate me: Ive got all “A” in this quarter!!!

Explainin' what does “quarter” mean. Its a period of study like a semester but its a 4th part of the year (actually 9 months) and this quarter was longest but it seemed really short

And today i went to school and was enjoyin' that i'm smart. In fact, i'm an excellent student but i rarely get “A” in all quarters

Now i'm relaxin' and plannin' what i'll do on my holidays
