Protection VS Destruction
Tumblr media
A furiously protective father vs the killer of anomalies
Anomalies like… little Splatter?
Wait… is her soul… human?? But… she’s a monster…?
This truly is a central conflict for a story
Ink is by Comyet
Error is by loverofpiggies Aka Crayon Queen
and we all know who created Splatter by now I think ;3
Some further rambles under the cut 👀
Alrighty, so! As stated about this art shows one of if not The main conflict of Splattertale, with the reveal of our main antagonist, Error!
Because ofc no Ink-Centric story is complete without Error as an antagonistic force of SOME kind.
I kid, there are obviously options where he’s not lol.
But yeah. Also he’s not really a villain here he’s just, opposed to the protagonists. Which makes him an antagonist! Because he… wants to kill Ink’s kid for being a glitch… Okay maybe that’s a BIT villainous, but he’s just doing his job! It’s nothing personal… right Ink? Right… ?
Also I know Ink looks SUPER pissed off and protective here but I wanna make it clear he DOESN’T hate Error in this story. Has some.. complicated feelings about him (None of them romantic, Sorry-not-sorry ErrorInk fans, I’m just not into it), but none of them are Hatred. In fact he’s tried to befriend Error several times in the past! Though that can’t exactly work out now… (trying to hunt down someone’s kid to delete them for being a “mistake” kinda puts a damper on your potential friendship with them :/)
Splatter’s soul is indeed a human soul. How this is possible I will explain later, but for now just know that her creation isn’t exactly natural. It’s devoid of any trait, which is why it’s white like a monster soul, and has very low DETERMINATION for a soul of its type. Still way more than a monster soul can have, but low for a human’s.
Being a “freak of nature” like that has landed her quite on Error’s list of “Things to Destroy”
This drawing also features my personal interpretation of the Doodlesphere! I sorta combined the two canon versions, the Floating Islands and Buckets. The Splattertale-verse Doodlesphere is comprised of floating islands that hold deep lakes of paint as entry points into the respective AUs. Each island is decorated with items that represent the AU it leads to!
With this in mind, try and guess which AU is which ;3
okay I’m gonna give the answers anyway
We’ve got Underswap (specifically Star Sanses Blue’s underswap)
Underfell right behind Ink
XTale in the top right
Outertale in the distance near where XTale is
and Dreamtale on the bottom left!
The appearance of the island also reflects the state of the AU, hence why Xtale is cracked and leaking (because of its destruction), and why Dreamtale looks so dull. With its stump of a tree and unbalanced paint-lake (it used to be a beautiful mix of yellow and purple)
So yeah, I think that’s all I have to say abt this piece for now! Don’t worry I’m gonna elaborate on these little lore bits in time! This entire story rotates in my brain like it’s in a microwave on a daily basis lmao
Hope you like it! :3 (And thank you if you read this far!)

Ask me about my OTP:
How would a thumb war go?
How do they go about solving arguments and what do they usually argue about?
How do they celebrate their anniversaries?
What acts do the couple do for the other that they absolutely adore? (ex: A knows B hates peeling oranges so A does it)
What matching outfits do you imagine the pair wearing?
How did they become official?
How did they act with one another during the crushing stage?
During the crushing stage, how did they try to get each other's attention?
What did the pair compromise for each other, if they did?
What is an incredibly heartwarming moment between the two?
What do you love about them?
What is their ship name and why?
How would the pair do in an escape room? What kind of room would they choose and would they get out?
How do they work together?
What do they do to make each other laugh? Doesn't have to be on purpose either.
If they're separate and they see something that reminds them of their beloved. What would it most likely be and why?
What do they do that make their partner think, "Damn, that's hot." (Could be an innocent gesture)
Do they have a dirty secret they hide from one another? What is it and why do they hide it?
Do they have a place/object that is specifically theirs? Where/What is it and why? (ex: Odysseus and Penelope's olive tree bed)
What is a secret that only their partner knows?
How did they meet and their first impressions upon meeting each other?
What AUs would you like to explore with them? If you have, what AUs have you done and what happens in them? Do you have a favourite?
What is a hobby/habit that one of them is into but the other can't get behind, and vice versa?
Did they have romantic rivals that wanted one (or both) member of the OTP? Who were they?
Did they ever have a disastrous date? What happened?
What tropes does your OTP fall under?
What made you start shipping them?
How do they divide up the chores? Who does what?
What is their home like and how do they decorate it?
What memes do you associate the individual characters/OTP with?
What's their cursed couple Halloween costume?
Do they remind you of another OTP you love? Who and why?
Imagine this OTP on a couple date with another OTP of yours. How does it go?
If they get married, what would their wedding be like? (Location, food, guests, wedding outfits, etc)
Is there a travel destination they wish to go to?
Do they have a couple bucket list?
What did the couple introduce to one another? (Can be a product, hobby, way of doing things, etc.)
What is something they admire about the other?
Before they were dating, did they have supportive friends who tried to set them up? What did they try to do?
What symbols do you associate with your OTP and why?

Tuvok & Seven co-parenting the borg children should've been real and canon like it is in my heart. It makes sense that Seven suggests Neelix as a good possible caregiver but with how ready Tuvok was to take responsibility for Tressa in 'Innocence' it seems to me like such a wasted opportunity that he doesn't really seem involved at all with the Borg children. With my ha-ha glasses on, there's comedic potential in their dynamic and I think certain people on the ship would hint that it might be the catalyst for a romance but there is 0 romance between them. They're both such proud, I'm-better-than-you type people and I know they'd have strong opinions on how to raise the Borg children that sometimes conflict. 'My Ex-Borg Drone is an Honor Student' type PTA parents. The potential for Tuvok being the (comparatively) more easygoing one is also quite funny. Also, with my sincerity goggles on, I can easily imagine Seven becoming overwhelmed with the sudden responsibility of caring for four children. I understand that everyone on Voyager sort of cares for all the children but Seven is placed as their primary guardian/mother-figure which is a lot to put on someone who's only been fully sentient for a few years herself. Just learned how to eat solid foods semi-recently and now she's a single mom? I think there could be an episode where Seven is clearly struggling with managing four children, her own work duties, her desire to be alone/pursue her own interests, and everyone's expectations for her (womanhood, humanity etc). No one's behind malicious but it's a lot of critiques coming from all sides. Then one evening she's working in astrometrics before someone...B'Elanna? Comes in for some work thing and is like "So, how did the bedtime story go?" because the kids were excited for Seven to read them to sleep and Seven's like I Have To Go Right Now so she rushes to the cargo bay expecting to see a lot of disappointed faces but instead Tuvok's in there, reading aloud. Tuvok gestures for her to stay quiet and finishes the last line. Mezoti, the last clinger-on, finally lets herself regenerate. Seven and Tuvok talk in his quarters about how difficult Seven's been finding the task of essentially raising four kids because I think she'd put a lot pressure on herself because of her personality + Janeway's expectations since she was the one who said Seven should be their guardian. I also think she'd be bewildered by not being able to do this 'task' efficiently. Tuvok talks about how he also found the experience of being a father difficult and bewildering, and he only had one child at the start. He encourages Seven to rely even more on others, that it won't make anyone think less of her for "not being able to handle it" and gives examples from his own life. He makes a point to tell her about how Janeway also helped from time to time - covering his shift or picking up one of his kids etc, to show Seven that he doesn't believe Janeway wants her to try to do everything alone. Seven thinks about this for the night. The next day, in the mess hall, she suggests in front of everyone "We should raise the children together. As a unit." Tuvok's confused. Seven says she noticed a lot of responsibility was shared between Tuvok and his wife. A parental unit. It also leaves the children with another primary caregiver in case one of them dies. ("Dies?" Mezoti asks so Tuvok pulls Seven away). Tuvok tries to explain that he meant more 'it takes a village' (in his Vulcan way) but Seven is like "You like the children. You've raised children. You are reliable. You are more knowledgeable in certain aspects of this general process while I possess superior knowledge of their unique ex-Borg needs. You told me to rely on others. The children can't stop talking about story time. Are you in?" and Tuvok, somewhat dazed, agrees. Seven says Good. Then she leaves. Tom claps Tuvok on the shoulder. "Congratulations, Dad!"

Why 'The Naked Time' says so much about Spock and Kirk's relationship
Okay y'all buckle up, because I'm 'bouta read too much into subtext and symbolism for my own good,,,
In saying that, I feel that this episode reveals so much about Spock and Kirk. It portrays their attitudes and feelings towards love, relationships, and... each other??!?!?!
Tumblr media
The premise of this episode is that there is a disease transmitted through touch. It leads the victims the descend into a form of 'madness'. The disease's manifestation is related to the individual's inner psyche; Spock himself says it forces 'hidden personality traits ... to the surface'. This happens to Sulu, who starts to yield a fencing sword towards other crewpeople on the ship. Given his love for fencing, and that he is 'at heart a swashbuckler', the illness has responded to this. This is foreshadowed by the word 'naked' in the title: to mean bare, undisguised, as you are.
Christine Chapel soon becomes ill with this disease. She confesses her love for Spock and reaches out to touch his hands. Spock flinches at first but does not choose to resist as she continues. Significantly, she says she is in love with 'the human Mister Spock, the Vulcan Mister Spock.' Chapel finishes with, 'I do love you just as you are.'
Summarily, Spock becomes incapacitated in two ways; by the physical touch of Chapel, he has the illness; but also by the denigration of logic and surfacing of repressed emotions. I mean, why does Spock hold on to Chapel's fervourous touch and apologises to her profusely, multifold? By what logic would permit this? Surely no logic that abides by the teachings of his Vulcan upbringing.
Spock is visibly overwhelmed by the confession. That, not only is he loved, he is loved as a Vulcan and as a human - a dual identity that Spock struggles to live with.
Importantly, for Spock this disease reveals the unresolved tensions of these identities and the vigorous dedication he has to silencing his human side with Vulcan logic. Spock stumbles out, tearful, and plaintively cries that he is in control of his emotions. He grasps a computer of all things, the zenith of binary choices and answers, of perhaps Vulcan logic. Then, he assures himself that he is a science officer - a professional observer - an identity which would somehow negate the feelings he is experiencing. But even scientists, humans, and Vulcans can experience emotions, and this fact, coupled with the encumberment of this disease, causes Spock to unravel.
The height of this episode, for me, is when Kirk finds him. Through glassy windows of tears, Spock looks to Kirk and laments that he can never tell his mother that he loves her (because he is Vulcan). He then looks to Kirk and says, 'when I feel friendship for you, I'm ashamed'. The emotion that Spock is battling is not grief, anger, sadness, but, let's face it, love.
When they start slapping each other, they actually... tightly hold hands. To me, they're ferociously making out, full pash sesh, heaving petting.
And where, earlier, in a similar embrace, Spock found himself restricted by Chapel, Spock holds on to Kirk's hand for dear life.
This next bit seems like it runs unparallel to Spirk as a ship, but let me explain why it doesn't. Kirk contracts the disease from Spock, and also battles with the impossibility of love as the Ship's Captain. This love is dedicated to his yeoman. Immediately, it seems as if Spock has ... recovered? He switches off, begins to take control of the situation and the impending doom that would occur if they don't get power for something something sciency words something to do with engines. When Spock seeks Kirk in this state, it's as if he has responded to Kirk's lack of affection. The illness appears to recede.
Where this comes full circle is with the writing on the wall (literally). Spock observes, 'Love Mankind' on the wall.
Tumblr media
This may relate to embracing his human side, and further his love for Kirk.
Kirk's writing on the wall? In the turbolift, upon finishing his comments about his love for his yeoman, is faced with:
Tumblr media
What must Kirk repent for as a sinner? Can I be bold and say this might be about lying as a sin, perhaps?
Tumblr media
Anyway. It is 1.30 am, I need to fight with the writers of this episode and I need to put my creative writing skills to use somewhere else, probably. I hope you enjoyed the mess that lives in my mind and my attempt to coherently collate what was a dozen voice messages sent to my best friends who are sleeping. I should probably sleep too...

Hey if anyone gets the chance to ask questions at a panel, could you please ask about the discrepancy between Will's character classes?
He styles himself as a wizard, his character sheet originally said wizard, the comics have Mike originally asking him if he wants to be a wizard, his password for Castle Byers is the name of a wizard, etc.
Why does Mike call him a cleric in S2? Is he double-classed? Was he forced by the gang to change his character type to a cleric instead of a wizard because of El, even though she was presumed dead? Is it a different timeline????
I need to know!!

Hey for as many people who talk about the scene where Kirk thought Spock was rubbing his back but it was a yeoman, why are there no fics of Spock massaging Kirk. This is canon stuff. Perfect fic material. Why is there no massage fics. Or fanart. That I've seen at least. This is great material. Where is it.
Or even just scenes in fics where he does massage Kirk, just slide it into the scene. Like come on. Perfect physical affection that's CANON

feeling mentally well enough today I'm giving Legacy of Vader a skim read, and was immediately pleasantly surprised with worldbuilding! I'm unclear if it was ever acknowledged before that Starkiller was a shipyard for the First Order, but I'm gleefully tucking this knowledge away.

So what's everyone's headcanon about why Garak calls Enabran Tain "Enebran" when he's dying? I can't accept the possibility that he mispronounced his father's name, so I have decided that the Cardassian language allows speakers to alter the vowels in close family members' names as a form of endearment.

Adding on to this post (which I do suggest reading before you read this one!) because I've been seeing a bunch of stuff about the TOG graphic novel floating around and another thing popped into my head!
More specifically, about the physical form of Sleep.
In the TMBTE artwork, it's easily seen that, in one way or another, the Moon is alive. At least, to the point it has a whispering mouth full of sharp teeth and tar-like tongues.
In the transcripts for the tier 4 bundle page (thank you to @elkkiel for said transcript!) the first line states, "15 days since the convergence of the lunar anomaly".
Convergence is when two or more things come together to form a new whole, and, in biology, it's the tendency of unrelated animals and plants to evolve similar characteristics under similar environmental conditions. With that in mind, this could be a dying God changing in order to remind people it's still a God, and, that it never left.
What once only appeared in nightmares and wistful dreams now sits high in the night sky as a pale reminder of our fickle lives.
Plus, the presale went out on the day of a super blue moon.
Further, Sundowning's release had a Waning Cresent, with symbolises self care and mental contemplation, TPWBYT's had a Waning Gibbous, which symbolises releasing old habits and attempting to change, and TMBTE's had a new moon, which represents new beginnings. This album just so happens to have the song Euclid (which I've jabbered on about enough), which is about becoming someone new and accepting things can't be the same.
Next, we have "I was frequently beset by certain recurring dreams...I found myself standing on a vast shoreline gazing out at a flat, wide sea." The first thing that comes to mind is the Fall For Me MV, which just so happens to be apart of TPWBYT: the water based album.
Night time is, quite obviously, when the moon is most visable, and is also when most people sleep. Asides from this, the moon also controls ocean tides. The closer a moon is (e.g: a supermoon, or an unspecified lunar anomaly), the higher and more violent a tide can become.
Further, if and when the sun, moon, and or Earth are in alignment (at the time of the new or full moon), the solar tide has an additive effect on the lunar tide, creating extra-high high tides, and very low, low tides.
Sound familiar?
Whether Sleep is the moon, or was birthed from the moon back when they first became a God (one of @tonguetyd's ideas), is up for debate.
With all that, and the previous thoughts on Telomeres already thought out: "I felt that were I to somehow survive...then I would be left in a world that would not recognize me. I would become an element unto myself and myself alone. An echo stuck in the throat of a dead God."
So, I'd like to say that TPWBYT is Sleep's album, if anything. Or, in the least, heavily dictated by them in ways other than directly influencing Vessel.

Headcanon that Seven of Nine and Naomi actually find Neelix’s cooking to be fine because it’s the only food they’ve ever eaten/their first introduction to food and when they get to Earth everyone’s so excited to show them Alpha quadrant foods but neither of them likes anything they’re offered very much. Seven doesn’t really care either way except that she has to get used to a whole new palette and Naomi likes the obvious (Ex: candy, cake) but frequently complains that nothing tastes ‘right’. Naomi: -pushing away a slice of pizza- I don’t like it... Tom: You’re kidding me. You don’t like pizza? Naomi: It doesn’t taste right! Make it how Neelix used to. Tom: You want me to put gerhalorian beets and yuk mushrooms in the sauce so it congeals into a lumpy, slightly sour mess? Is that what you want, Naomi? Naomi: Yeah :(  I want Naomi and Icheb to work tirelessly together on a side project for years until finally doing it - being able to communicate clearly with those in the Delta quadrant! Icheb uses it to speak to the other borg children (now adults) and Naomi immediately uses it to call Neelix and ask him to find the nearest time portal and toss a big box of leola root into it. She’s been craving it for years! No one told her the Alpha quadrant didn’t have leola root, she wouldn’t have gone otherwise!
