If I were a cartoon review youtuber, some of my videos would definitely be:
Underrated Animated films you should see vol. 1 - ongoing
Complete look at Skunk Fu! and all it's episodes
What's ACTUALLY wrong with Illumination films (spoiler: it's not the designs). And that video would probably have a sequel ironically unironically accusing Chris Meladandri of being a White Walker who rips out movies' souls.
Disturbing Animated Film Iceberg.
A calming, sweet short retrospective on The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends.
Killing off the idea of "endgame". Tho, tbf, I'm definitely going to be writing that thesis statement down someday. I guess in video format it'd be a big "did this series REALLY fall off cuz the creator catered to fans?" breakdown of a few shows.
A video about 9. Because of course I'd make something about 9.
Politically heavy (but not horror) animated films.
An essay explaining the difference between what I want to see in a story vs what's actually good in a story; and likewise the difference between what I personally do/don't find offensive and what's objectively offensive as a viewer.
The dichotomy and standards between different talking animal films.
A review about Mary and Max and why I like it but it's okay if other autists don't. which would be a broader video about how to listen to the opinions of demographics and minorities and not to treat any one as a hivemind.
Movies that I dislike but aren't actually bad.
Movies I love that aren't really all that good.
A deeper dive on my take that Steven Universe was always deeply flawed but having an otherwise working ending; where Star vs was a well-written show that utterly biffed it on the ending.
The Swan Princess is secret conservative propaganda.
The 31 dumbest things in Oogies Revenge.
Zero's Journey is the only good TNBC continuation.
13 Horror animated Feature Films. For Halloween, of course...
My issue with Dreamworks' stans and why I dislike How to Train You Dragon 2.
My issues with Anti v Proshipping. Def would be a multi part series explaining why I think most of the problem is just people really aggresively bulling one another -AND THEN, getting into heinous fandom shit that no one talks about and the ethics of children online and freedom of expression.
Prolly then would make an exclusive (cuz it's dirty) review abt the rights of r34 and adult artists and what they had to/have to put up with both from peers and websites banning explicit material.
What absolutely doesn't work about Pocahontas and Anastasia.
I'd do a series called "Spitball Re-haul" wherein I go through a revisioned show's premise and then explain all the reasons for the changes. I'd make:
How I'd rewrite The Owl House season 3.
How I'd rewrite Star vs the Forces of Evil "Cleaved".
How I'd rewrite Strange Magic.
How I'd rewrite Raya and the Last Dragon.
How I'd rewrite Seasons 4-8 of Friendship is Magic.
My tinfoil hat video on Disney trying to profit so much off of fans is hurting their bases.
Mapping out and analyzing different types of crossover fiction, their merits and their issues with story-keeping.
Mythological and cultural animated films.
and finally, for when I'd muster up the strength:
an HBomberGuy-type callout/deepdive into MysteriousMrEnter and Lily Orchard and how they've made cartoon reviews worse.

An excuse vs a reason a "She-Ra the Princesses of Power" and "Rick and Morty" comparison"
I think I would like Catra a lot more if we got the reason why she did what she did, instead of the show just excusing everything, yes, Shadow Weaver's abuse of her was horrible, and I do feel bad for her when she was a kid, but you can't just use that to excuse all the horrible things she did. It doesn't help that Catra constantly shows that she doesn't feel like she has to take responsibility for her own actions, she literally says in one episode to Shadow Weaver "You made me like this and you want to be the good guy now?!" Yes, Shadow Weaver certainly played a role in Catra being who she is now, but in the end, Catra still has a choice, and her actions are hers and hers alone. But nope! Let's just excuse it all because of sad kitty cat who had a bad past!
A show that shows the reason well is "Rick and Morty" spoilers ahead for Rick and Morty, now the main character of the show "Rick Sanchez" is certainly a horrible, horrible person. There is no denying that, but I still like him, he is in fact, my favorite character. Due to him being legitimately funny and complex, his character is a ton of fun to analyze. And, what's better, they provide a reason for why he is how he is, but it's not an excuse. In the season 5 finale "Rickmurai Jack" we learn that his wife and child were brutally killed by Rick Prime in front of him due to him refusing to abandon them, and in the season 2 finale "Wedding Squanchers" Birdperson got shot when Rick showed kindness towards him with a heartwarming toast at his wedding. Whenever he shows kindness to people, it comes back to bite him. Now he's undeniably cruel to his grandson, Morty. He does genuinely love Morty, this is shown multiple times (Rick being kind to Morty and supporting him after someone attempted to assault Morty, and killing the person who attempted to assault him in "Meeseeks and Destroy", Rick sacrificing himself for Morty in "A Rickle in Time", Rick using his body to shield Morty from bullets in "Edge of Tomorty, Rick, Die, Rickpeat", etc.) but every time he's shown kindness to someone, it's come back to bite him in some way, which is the reason why he's so cruel to Morty, but it doesn't excuse it.
He is held accountable for his actions, for example, his relationship with Morty is slowly deteriorating. We see this when Morty attempted to shoot him (With a fake gun but Morty didn't know that) in "Rickshank Rickdemption" with no guilt, even saying "Who's stupid now bitch?!" after he thought that Rick died. He happily left him for dead with no guilt in "Edge of Tomorty, Rick, Die, Rickpeat" and even Morty's biggest fear being that Rick doesn't care about him in "Fear No Mort" He even pushes Rick away when Rick hugs him back in said episode, due to being terrified that he would still be in the hole if Rick did so.
That's not it, however, his best friend (And possible crush, he definitely did like him in the past) Birdperson started distancing himself from Rick when Rick chose not to tell him about his child, due to him being scared that Birdperson would be too busy child-rearing to hang out.
Rick also never blames anyone else for his actions, he never tries to say that Rick Prime is the reason why he's the horrible person he is now, he never tries to say that he isn't at fault for his actions, because, as stated above, his actions are his and his alone. We see him acknowledge that he is in control of his actions in season 4 episode 2 "The Old Man and The Seat" where holograms of himself tell him "Sit there all by yourself and think about how nobody wants to be around you, and how you ruin it for yourself because you're a huge piece of shit." And we see this again in the season 4 finale "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri" where solemnly states "Holy shit, I'm a terrible father."
We see the reason why he did it, so we are able to feel for him, but it doesn't excuse his behavior, which is part of why I love him so much, and why you should give the reason why a character does they do certain things and not an excuse.

My Top 12 TGaMM S2 songs (in no particular order)
Kinda like in Centaurworld, I found more songs in S1 than S2 that I liked but that's not to say that the songs weren't enjoyable. It's just a shame I won't be able to make a S3 list T_T
Anyways, here's my Top 12 TGaMM S2 songs in no particular order:
12. Frightful No More [A Doll to Die For]
youtube
It's great to hear Lord Hater again and a song that's an homage to "Everything's Coming Up Roses" (Gypsy) and "The Rain in Spain" (My Fair Lady)...at least that's what it make me think of.
11. It's Just Your Masterpiece in You [Faint of Art]
youtube
This episode was a pretty nice message on art block and a fear of failure that a lot of artists face, especially when they haven't done anything in years. I tend to procrastinate by snacking, which of course I can't draw with food fingers (even when using a napkin) so I gotta wait till it goes away, oh whoops, now the days ended, oh well, tomorrow...
10.Thai Culture Cram [100% Molly McGee]
A fun song showing the lengths that Molly is willing to go to learn half of her culture. Granted she didn't realize that this stuff takes time but she's on the right path.
9.Me & My Dad [Like Father, Like Libby]
youtube
Kid's who have an absentee parent def felt what Libby is singing about in this one. It just sucks when someone who should be important in your life, doesn't take it as serious as you'd wish they would.
8. Hit Restart [Perfect Day]
Gotta love how relaxed the singer is while describing the continuiously hectic attempts Molly and Scratch make at having a perfect first day of the year.
7. Identity Crisis [Davenport's in Demise]
youtube
It's a shame we didn't get more from Andrea this season, especially after this ep. I know we would've gotten her and Alina in S3 but still, I would've liked to see how her and Molly are friends
6. Maybe Next Time [The End] (Spoilers)
youtube
Scratch's backstory was a gut-punch, especially for those of us that feel like we're wasting our lives away. It does kinda remind me of a more sad version of "I Remember It Well" (Gigi)
5. Enjoy Your Afterlife [The New (Para)Normal]
A fun song with the Ghost Council about life after the Chairman's defeat that kinda reminds me of "Go Back to City Hall" in S1
4. You Got to Be Low-Key [The (After)Life of the Party]
youtube
Jinx is such a little shit in this song. Not to mention this was the ep that confirmed that Geoff and Jeff are married
3. Back to Misery [Jinx vs the Human World]
Gotta love a villain song. Just a shame we didn't get more.
2. Trying to Find [All in the Mind]
youtube
Love the abstract visuals of going through someone's mind and the soft vocals and instrumentals.
Honorable Mention 1: You've Been Jinxed [Jinx!]
Honorable Mention 2: Feeling Like MY Old Self Again/Small Town America [Kenny's Falling Star]
Honorable Mention 3: Happy Happy Death Day [The Many Lives of Scratch]
1.This House is Haunted [Frightmares on Main Street]
youtube
Love this homage to "Thriller" but it's also to see ghosts being able to let loose. A great Halloween special
As stated before, it's a shame that we won't get anymore eps but at least what we've gotten were great. Idk if I should do an overall list

Hey, sorry, weird question, but what happened with Reddit and Westworld? Did the creators of Westworld change something about the show's future storylines because a redditer guessed what was going to happen?
So Westworld had a gigantic audience of 12 million, and it's surprising because this was HBO's attempt for a new tentpole franchise when Game of Thrones was going downhill.
A subreddit spawned, I was in it as a viewer capacity and there was a lot of speculation. Star Ward level of speculation. Which is good , if your show is good, you want them engaged.
So a bunch of redditors had guessed ( Spoilers) that Ed Harris was playing the Current version of Man in Black, and Jimmy Simpson was the younger version of Man in Black , William. That they were the same character.
And that's because the first season was actually beautifully crafted. Including one scene where Younger William enters the park for the first time, and debated choosing a Black or White cowboy hat. This is a simple storytelling device, character is nice, naive, believes in the good in the world, circumstances makes him lose that humanity. Then it made sense for William to be MIB, wearing the black cowboy hat. But until you saw the entire series it could be brushed off. But once you saw it, it made so much sense.
This is during the height of GOT, Star Wars when speculation and the need for twists and turns were paramount. Felt like you needed to outsmart the viewers if you want to be a good showrunner.
During that time, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have an interview to an audience, which they said things in a joking manner. But in the age of digital social media, things go fast. Especially if it's only a text blurb and people didn't see the actual clip
Tumblr media
Turns out to be a tongue in cheek joke. But the damage was done and it spread everywhere.
They also decided to do a prank to reveal the all the spoilers of season 2, turns out they made a rickroll video to Redditors as a light-hearted joke.
With that said, season 2 started but there was a lot of thing that seemed off in the show, it started to get even more conveluted.
Multiple spanning timelines. The show also started to get more and more philosophical. Because the show is about Robots ( Hosts) , you never know if a character is a robot as well. So that could feel like a cheap gimmick.
Also it's not only focused on Westworld anymore, it spanned outside to the real world , making a show called Westworld...not Westworld ( even though the Old Westworld movie had multiple theme park sections as well)
I also worked in Marketing, I also want to take the hunch, that General Audience ( Not the hardcore Human Philosopher/ai/spirit/High Art viewer ) wanted to just watch Robots vs Humans and the drama surrounding that, not get too deep in the human subconscious.
But the showrunners made it felt they added twists and turns so much, maybe to outsmart said Redditors? ( As I said, joke or not right?) That the general audience started to be confused and lost interest
The show then went from season 1 with a staggering of 12 million viewers, to season 4 measly few million. And this is HBO rolling the red carpet for Nolan and Joy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel, if you're a showrunner, you need to be careful because anything you say will be dissected and spread like wildfire, and sometimes written articles don't convey tone, especially if it's a joke, that click bait newest and even well known journals can run with. This you can clearly see if you are part of the Marvel fandom.
All of this is sad because Westworld season 1 was so beautifully crafted and written. But because of all of this, as a viewer, you're left wondering if Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy were genuinely trying to craft a twist because the story needed it, or done it for the shock and confuse viewers even more.
Nerdwriter went more in details on it's fall.
This is why I am a bit worried about the TV Fallout Series because they are the executive producers and also Nolan directed some episodes.
This is also why there is so many similar vibes to Westworld, especially MIB to The Ghoul, Dolores Abernathy to Lucy Maclean and so on as I posted on my Tumblr
Both Fallout and Westworld had the gaming aspect where your character could choose to be good, mid , or evil. As Westworld, humans can go in to just explore an enchanting Western theme park, but some are deviants and they go there to unleash their deepest desires.
The only hope I have is that Fall Out is a franchise, they have rules and lore.
Then again Star Wars had rules and lore but they retconned and brought back dead characters just for reusing legacy characters to make more money...
So yeah just my two cents 🥴

Prelims, Vote 7 of 8
The top 4 finales will move on to be included in the main bracket
Propaganda is under the cut, may include spoilers
Friends - 10.17 The Last One
It's specifically part 2 I think qualifies here because that has the Rachel got off the plane thing and I think in 2023 we can all admit that was a mistake. she should've just lived her best life in Paris
Gilmore Girls - 7.22 Bon Voyage
No propaganda submitted
Gossip Girl - 6.10 New York I Love You XOXO
Chuck murders his uncle so the plot is that Chuck and Blair had to get married in a day and like flee the country. Whether you loved them or hated them, no one wanted them to get married in ten minutes on the street. Dan is revealed as Gossip Girl which makes ZERO sense because he sends tips to Gossip Girl and learns stuff from it ALL THE TIME. It’s literally impossible that he was Gossip Girl the whole time. There’s a timeskip and Dan and Serena are getting married, OH cause no one even cares that he’s Gossip Girl and has ruined their lives over and over, so Dan and Serena get married even though they haven’t been together since they were sixteen!! They don’t even like eachother at all by season six. Everyone else’s ending is just tragic. Nate’s whole storyline in season one was hating that his life was planned and he’s going to end up like his dad, and he ends up exactly like his dad and he’s in politics despite showing zero interest in it before. Every character didn’t want to end up like their parents and DID by the end
ReBoot - 4.08 Crouching Binome, Hidden Virus
It concluded with a cliffanger and a massive reveal (the nice BoB, Dot was about to marry was the bad guy all along) that left the viewer shocked as Megabyte (said bad guy) seized the center of Power and everything was about to be infected.
Shameless - 11.12 Father Frank, Full of Grace
Imagine a show going on for 11 seasons just for not a single one of the characters to get a genuinely happy ending. All the endings were open ended, but for every single one of them it was implied that bad things were coming (other than the character who died, obviously, because that was a true end). We spent 11 years getting attached to characters only for none of them to be truly happy and so many questions still unanswered.
Star Trek: Voyager - 7.25 / 7.26 Endgame
Throwing together Chakotay and Seven out of nowhere at the last minute; Janeway cavalierly rewriting decades of history to save them; everything relying on deus ex machina future tech; all these are bad. But the worst part is, "Endgame" ends before they get home! We don't see any reunions between the crew and their families back home, or how their homecoming is celebrated. After seven years, they get back to Earth, and it just...ends, without any real resolution.
Top Chef - 11.17 Finale
It's the end of a long season full of frustrating man children and delicious food in Louisiana. With our final two we have Nina, an award winning chef and fan favorite of the season who has been in the top ten challenges and the bottom only twice. She could be the first (and to this day would still be the only) black woman to win Top Chef. In the other corner we have Nicholas, who was in the top four times and the bottom six times and always blames other people for his problems. He yells at his staff and coworkers whenever things get tough throughout the season as well. They each get three sou chefs and Nina picks the two other strongest women of the season who both were screwed over by Nick earlier in the season, alongside her friend Travis. Nick picks three bros and there's a joke that it's Guys vs Girls because Travis on Nina's team is gay. Service is stressful for each team but they handle it in different ways. Nina readjusts her plans quickly and Nick yells at his waitstaff in front of everyone again. The judges eat at both places and we get an emotional interview with each contestant of what winning would mean for them. Judging time! Three of the judges think Nina should win because her food was the best of the night. Two judges think Nick should win because his food was better. One of the Team Nick judges is head Judge Tom Colichio and he speaks to the other judges like they're stupid. The judges start debating and the two Team Nick judges say, wait, actually both teams were equally good that night but Nina has always been that good meanwhile this is the best Nick has ever done so he should win. The judges argue more and at one point Tom Colichio says Nick yelling at his staff proves he's a passionate chef so he should win. They keep disagreeing with three for Nina and two for Nick. We don't see the end of the argument. Two Cheftestants stand before the judges with their families and all the former contestants of the season standing off to the side. The winner of Top Chef New Orleans is... Nick. Some of his fellow Cheftestants from the season are visibly annoyed and Nick gives his mom a sloppy kiss on the lips before giving a tearful confessional. The end.

You have fans!! lol. The whole above thread right til she calls you crazy here:
https://x.com/NataRomanovaBW/status/1800428808186872271
I guess they are ignoring that originally (on production sites) it was listed as filming April 8, 2024 - August 22, 2024.
Do they think you pulled those dates out of your ass? I literally have a screenshot with the working title and everything lol. Just because THEY aren't informed, doesn't mean we aren't.
And they did push back GenV filming (only slightly) after Chance's death so it's possible TB got pushed back as well, but they were originally scheduled to film pretty much concurrently - probably so they can have crossovers, tie together storylines, etc. while they have ALL the cast in one location for shooting vs filming them at different times and calling back cast to film cameos. So more than likely even if TB filming got pushed back as well, they are still probably back right now. These people forget exactly how tightlipped TB filming is (and no, I don't mean no phones on set, they very very clearly have phones on set) and they aren't even really allowed to straight up say they are working on the show or show things from the show.
The huge thing they are ignoring is that maybe the reason Karl is filming something different is because he either isn't in s5 or is in s5 in a limited capacity. His new movie is an Amazon production as well, so they obviously allowed him to do it and the schedules are clearly ok with them.
Of course these are the same people who think SB/Jensen is the star of TB with a whole 12 minutes screentime and now an unconscious cameo in s4!
Link and Link. Everything you say is likely true, regarding why the casts are told to be quiet since their presence (or lack of it) in season 5 could be major spoilers for season 4 when it premiers in 2 days and it's finale on July 18.
Some fans will stalk sets to see if particular actors are seen on set, which will give them clues if the actors' characters live or not in upcoming episodes. Some studios attempt to circumvent these fans by having actors show up on sets as decoys when their characters are actually not in the episode. Games of Thrones were known to apply this tactic, but it's often not used because it cost money to hire and transport decoys.
Anyways, I just posted The Boys S5 film schedule from ProductionList to help AAs stop giving themselves funny aneurysm. AAs and hellers work in organized groups that function like a call-center set up to manipulate the conversation by inundating forums and social media with conspiracy theories that are conveniently not based on fact but feelings.  Perfect for cult leaders like Goob, so he just slid right in as “one of them” and manipulate the conversation with even bigger and wilder conspiracy theories. When even AAs/hellers were doubting Goob's words, he says they’re too dumb to understand what he writes, especially when his writings contradict himself.  So he writes even bigger and wilder conspiracy theories.
Remember kids, your vibe attracts your tribe. There is a very good reason why you never/rarely see such psychotic behavior from Jared's fans.

Hello, it's time for the first "Yana has made me paranoid so I try to look for hints even when hints are not present"
Aka extremely silly theory about the manga, spoiler for the end of season 4 and the manga under the cut!
Ok. Since I hope I hide this well. Here is the incriminatory pannel
Tumblr media
They are all dancing and my first reaction was aaaaw 🥺🥺 but then what if there are hints?
I would like to start with the most important thing which is blushing Edward. After you task a good look at him, he is interesting I feel he is there just to not have a white spot. And he is adorable and blushing with I think Lizzie's maid. They are cute 🥺 nothing more I think. I just wanted to point it out!
Tumblr media
But honestly that hidden "hole"... Feels a little like they are separating. On the left Francis, Tanaka, Redmond, Joanne and two of Bluewer sisters (the younger one could be one of the twins?). Then on the right we have Lizzie, O!Ciel, Soma and Meyrin.
A part of me wants to say: oh it must be R!Ciel side VS O!Ciel side but then what are Lizzie and Soma doing there? Both were deeply hurt by O!Ciel, can they even go back to be like this? Maybe after (if) undertaker explain of the bizzarre dolls to everyone? And Joanne would also be on the wrong side (unless everyone is against O!Ciel now so undertaker tries to win him over somehow, and they are successful).
What made me start to go insane is that I read another blog suggesting that one of the stars (Vega) could be one of Bluewer sisters. So what if the little girl here is Vega? Joanne, Francis, Takana and Edward are "more important" characters but she is the one that is shown so close? Maybe to let us have a nice look at her and remember her for later? I'm playing 5D chess against myself.
The true answer
More likely: Yana just wanted to draw something pretty and this is her result. Nothing more nothing less. But hey I wanted to try to be smart.

Alright, time to speculate about Ahsoka and the future of the Mandoverse! Spoilers will be discussed.
So I think it's very clear we're getting a Season 2... but what is Season 2 going to look like? How will it be structured? I say this because while everything in Season 1 starts from the same place, in Season 2 it won't be so simple. I'm not really sure that you can do a show with two groups of characters now completely disconnected from each other. From what Ahsoka is saying, it sounds like they're not in a rush to get back home, either. There is a chance they could still do this, but even in Season 1 we never really got an episode evenly split between galaxies. So what if... it's going to spin off into TWO shows instead of one?
So basically, Ahsoka S2 would follow Ahsoka and Sabine and whatever Baylan and Shin get up to, and then you'd have a second series following Ezra, Hera, etc as they fight against Thrawn's Imperial Remnant-Nightsister alliance.
With how Ahsoka sounded about being on Peridea, I have a feeling her and Sabine will be there for a while. Maybe they'll get back in Season 2, or maybe they'll be on Peridea until the movie (because let's be real, there's no way Filoni is gonna do his big Heir to the Empire movie WITHOUT his oshi :v). Of course, there IS the chance it's just Ezra, Hera, etc vs Thrawn for the movie, but see above comment about Filoni and Ahsoka.
I also have some thoughts about WHEN the movie might come out. It's very simple if you know basic Star Wars history... 2027. Aka, on Star Wars' 50th anniversary.
Of all the upcoming confirmed movies, Filoni's is probably going to be the big crowd pleasing fanservice one. Fan fave big bad, OT-adjacent time period, modern fan faves like Mando, and likely even OT characters appearing (even if they're deepfakes lol).
This is very loose speculation and who knows how this will hold, especially with the SAG-AFTRA strike still not being resolved, but I'm personally betting that's what the plan is. Just hope they don't rush things if they want that.
Oh yeah, also worth mentioning: it's possible that the Mandalorian Season 4 is actually about Mando and Grogu joining Hera and Ezra via Carson Teva. I mean, if Mando is fighting Imperial Remnants, he's GOT to know about the most significant one, right?
But yeah, who knows what could happen, the ending of Ahsoka means they could pull many directions to take the different Mandoverse shows and even the movie in.

[Transcript] Season 4, Episode 5. Doctor Who (2023) Review
Doctor Who is back! Ncuti Gatwa takes on the starring role as everyone's favourite Timelord in a new series. Ron and Mon share their spoiler-free review of the first two episodes of the new show, and discuss what we hope to see in the remainder of the season.
Listen to the episode on Spotify.
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to a new episode of Stereo Geeks.
Today, we're talking about Doctor Who.
I'm Ron.
And I'm Mon.
Doctor Who, 2023.
We've got a new doctor in the house.
See what I did there.
Played by Ncuti Gatwa, and his new companion, Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.
So in 2024, we're getting the full season for the new doctor.
We start with Space Babies, episode one.
This is actually the second episode of Ncuti Gatwa as the doctor in the lead.
He was introduced in The Giggle.
Let's not even try and figure out seasons, series, who's the doctor, which number.
I'm not gonna try and figure that out.
Let's just get into it.
We have watched the first two episodes of this season.
We're not gonna reveal any spoilers.
We're just gonna talk about what the episodes were kind of about, how we felt about it, if we're excited for the rest of the season.
So episode one is called Space Babies.
It starts off literally moments after the end of episode zero, which was the Christmas special called The Church on Ruby Road.
There's a theme of babies, which obviously isn't the most interesting for us, but it makes sense because both Ruby and the Doctor are orphans.
This Doctor, I would say, number 15, I believe, is his number.
He remembers a lot more about his life, and I'm wondering if that's because he was split from 14.
13 spent her first few episodes getting her bearings, but 15 is in full flow.
Yeah, Ncuti Gatwa, he's really taken to this role.
He's a very young Doctor as well, but I think he is delightful.
He's so charming, so energetic.
He has this huge smile and two very big hearts.
Well, not him, the Doctor.
Absolutely.
Ncuti Gatwa is very charming.
He's very fun.
And he's playing this Doctor as a kind of free spirit, somebody who's enjoying a life with no strings attached.
So let's get into the episode.
It's kind of Doctor Who-ish, so it's a bit weird.
Honestly, for us, we grew up on Star Trek.
So Doctor Who was not something that we understood that well till we sort of fell upon it on TV one time.
We've definitely got into a little bit more thanks to 13.
And now we're a little bit more invested with 15.
This show has never been subtle, but this particular episode, Space Babies, I feel like it really hits you on the head with some real world issues.
It drops these notes in, in sort of a sarcastic aside, but they're unmissable.
It's kind of obvious that at least this new version of the show is definitely trying to send a message.
Yeah, it addresses a couple of real world issues.
I mean, the big one is genocide and the lasting impact on those who survive.
The doctor may be happy-go-lucky, but he's using that to hide this tremendous loss.
And I feel like this episode definitely touches on the revealing of Roe vs.
Wade in the US.
There's a short but poignant discussion about humanity's insistence on birthing babies.
It has absolutely no interest in taking care of.
And also what happens to those people when they're growing up?
Because one of the things that this episode leans into quite a lot, I would say it's a running theme throughout the episode, is uniqueness.
It's not a problem to be different.
At least that's what this episode is positing.
This isn't a new theme in any pop culture, but it hits differently and more poignantly when it's coming from a character who looks like Gatwa.
I mean, if the doctor wants you to regenerate into a big purple blob, nobody would complain.
But because he's a queer black man, it's like a big deal.
What I will say, and I don't know how you feel about this, I found that the episode was kind of gross.
And while it was just alluded to and not shown, so like we weren't like gagging all over the place, but that for me undermined the strength of the episodic themes.
Yeah, it definitely gets a bit gross at times, and I struggle with that very easily, but I think they wanted to bring in a lot of humor because there were some heavy elements, but I think I could have done without it.
I would say that this episode sets up the chemistry between the Doctor and Ruby quite well.
We got obviously quite a bit of that in the Christmas special, but you can really see them as a time traveling pair.
And I would say that the chemistry in this episode is even stronger than in the episode zero.
I don't know how to feel about Ruby and the Doctor because with shorter seasons, where it's like eight, maybe max 10 episodes, and we already know about the changes that are coming up in this show, it's really hard for me to become invested in the Doctor and Ruby's relationship.
What is obvious is that they're really building up the mystery surrounding Ruby's history.
And I'm curious to find out more about that, as well as what impact it has on the Doctor.
Yeah, good point.
They've laid the groundwork for a lot of that history.
And they also do have a few moments with Ruby's mom and grandma.
I hope that we get to see more of them, because they seem like a lovely family.
And like with 13, every time we got to see, yeah, this family, it just felt like a built up universe.
It's always the supporting characters that sort of give more gravitas to who your main characters are.
And as you said, builds up the world, but builds up their world, helps us become even more invested and interested in them.
So I agree with you.
I would love to see more of her mom and her grandmom.
So moving on to the second episode, The Devil's God.
Now this tritone that is the name of the episode got me excited.
Now in this episode, the Doctor and Ruby travel to the 60s.
They get to play dress up.
It's kind of fun to see them try on 60s fashion.
I honestly feel like 13 and her crew didn't get to do that much.
They didn't travel within Earth.
They traveled mostly to other planets.
And in any case, 13 always wore her t-shirt and jacket anyway.
We should probably make a note about why we're talking about 13 a lot, because we didn't watch Doctor Who regularly until 13 came on the scene, and then suddenly we were just like, we were watching her every week.
We couldn't wait.
Jodie Whittaker's Doctor was very fun.
We were obviously excited because there was a woman in the role.
So yeah, now we're kind of just going along with the ride.
I also think with Jodie Whittaker's Doctor, they tried to do something different with some of the stories, not all, obviously.
And I think that's why we ended up tuning in a lot more.
It was a little bit more inclusive and diverse.
I feel like that's also there with Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor, especially in this episode, which is in the 60s.
I know in the past and on a lot of other shows, if you went back to 1960s England everybody would be white, but they specifically have some extras who are people of color.
So I like that.
This episode, The Devil's Code, is very Doctor Who like.
It's silly, it's campy, it has time travel and very high stakes.
It's like as Doctor Who as you can get.
This episode was my jam.
Wow, that's high praise.
I think one of the reasons why this episode really works is because of Jinx Monsoon, who is the guest star for this episode.
She is very cool.
She really knows how to steal the scene without being cringey.
Well, Jinx Monsoon is a drag performer.
She plays Maestro.
In real life, from what I can see, she goes by she her pronouns, but Maestro uses they them pronouns.
Monsoon is a RuPaul's Drag Race winner and a Broadway star.
So pretty heavy hitter.
No wonder she's just seamlessly stealing the scene in this episode.
So if it's not obvious by now, this episode is about music.
And episodes around music or the arts, they're always very interesting.
Now, I am curious to know how you felt because I think the writing here didn't explore the direct or even the indirect impacts of music on changing the world as much as it should have.
It's definitely hinted at, but it was very, very plot heavy.
And I think that for me, felt like it missed the plot.
Very interesting point.
I thought it was a great sci-fi concept.
So the essence of the plot is that humanity has thrived this long, primarily on the power of music.
I like that the arts are being spotlighted in an episode like this, in a profiteer like this.
Science fiction, you know, it usually discusses the importance of science, exploration, morality.
Well, what about the arts and culture?
We're seeing AI being used as a shortcut to make art, and music, and create stories.
Now is as good a time as any to center human artistry.
I think if this episode had been maybe a two-parter, we could have really leaned into that.
Because you're right, it doesn't examine the impact that music has had on history and the way we are right now.
See, you've brought in a good point here.
AI, especially generative AI, and how it's being used as a shortcut, as you said, to get into arts and culture.
That's a plot point that I really feel like Doctor Who, of all shows, could have easily segued to, and probably done it in a very blunt fashion and still got it to work.
I will say that probably at the time that this episode was being made, generative AI's impact on art was probably not being felt as strongly as it is right now in 2024.
So maybe that's why they didn't lean into that, but honestly, somebody's gotta talk about it.
True, true.
I liked Maestro as a villain.
Thoughts?
I loved Maestro.
In all honesty, I was a bit worried at first.
Another campy, queer villain after Toymaker, played by Neil Patrick Harris, he was phenomenal.
He was having a great time.
I really enjoyed watching him.
So I felt like, oh, is Maestro just doing the same thing?
But it works within the context of the story.
And in all honesty, Monsoon is having such a ball, I can't possibly begrudge her anything.
I will say, I feel like aside from the Christmas special, this show isn't yet really leaning into 15s queerness.
Queer coded villains, they've been a mainstay of friction.
Most Disney properties have had such villains.
And now, remember, Doctor Who is on Disney+.
So we need more queer heroes to balance that out.
Ncuti Gatwa is an out queer actor.
I'm not saying every episode has to be about how he's queer and beautiful, but maybe I wouldn't mind.
No, I agree with you.
I kept wondering while I was watching these two episodes, what's missing, what's missing?
And it really is a case of them dumbing down that aspect of his character.
I guess we can speculate why they don't want to alienate the current fans, you know, the long time fans, but I don't think that's correct.
It's not like they're ignoring the whole queer spectrum.
They do hint at that and they talk about it, but why not with the doctor himself?
Well, let's be honest, with 13, there was a golden opportunity and they just flubbed that.
I hope they don't do that with Ncuti’s as well.
I am very interested to see where this season is going to go with the doctor because he's shared a lot of feelings about his past.
When we were watching 13, again, we haven't seen much before that, so everything we know is from 13.
She learned so many horrible truths about her life and that so much of her existence had been hidden from her.
Is 15 going to be engaging with those?
He's already made a few references now about the losses that he suffered and that he's lived through, he's survived, he's the only Timelord left.
That's a huge burden to deal with.
I'm hoping that this season has some resolution planned for him because if somebody in the very first two episodes has shared such deep sorrow and then he immediately tries to laugh it off, something's going on here.
Well, it's also a little bit weird that we keep seeing the doctor running scared.
We've seen him do that two episodes in a row.
Listen, I'm all for, especially male characters, being vulnerable, being human, being realistic.
But the question is, why is it that the first black doctor is this vulnerable?
Again, most of our references come from 13 onwards.
But whatever we've seen, it's not like we've never seen a single Doctor Who episode before 13, but you know, they're always like kind of macho-ish in some ways.
You know, this is really different.
Yeah, 15 is scared.
He's run from danger twice, and you know, if he's doing it because he's trying to protect Ruby, that's, you know, something that we've seen before.
But I'm beginning to wonder, like, the fact that he didn't regenerate into 15, he was split in half from 14.
Has that made him more attuned to emotions?
Do Timelords have similar emotions to humans?
Is there something bigger at play here that makes him want to run away from danger?
In all honesty, I think this doctor is depressed, y'all.
I kinda agree with you on that.
So I don't know about you, I feel like Millie Gibson was a bit too giggly in this episode.
That took me out, honestly.
I know some actors do the giggle and bouncy thing where they don't know what to do.
I'm really surprised that they kept so many of those moments in the actual episode.
Yeah, honestly, this episode was not Ruby's best.
She got short shrift in the climax, for sure.
She did have one really amazing scene, and she gives us the context for why she's doing a particular thing, and I was just like, oh, I feel this in my heart, but then it doesn't go anywhere.
Yeah, this episode, as fun as it is, it's a bit all over the place, because I'm not sure about that denouement either.
I felt like it was leading up to something, but then the episode kind of just ended, which also kind of undermines the message of the denouement.
Very confused here.
I was wondering whether it was because this episode is about just 50 minutes, and I was comparing it to The Giggle, which was an hour.
They had 10 extra minutes to really lean into the resolution.
I don't think we got that with this one.
Having said that, I did really enjoy this episode, the period costumes, the theme.
This is the kind of science fiction I want to see more of.
I agree with you, and I also feel like not all science fiction, especially science fiction, has to be serious.
But I guess I just want something more out of whatever I'm watching.
If it's an oblique reference, if it's a direct reference, I just needed to say something so that we come away feeling like there's a way to make things better, or that other people who want to watch this world burn will watch something like this and change their minds.
I guess I'm just asking Art to do exactly what this episode tells us Art can do.
Change the world.
But we are looking forward to the rest of the season.
We are looking forward to seeing more of Ncuti.
I don't know what direction Ruby is going to go in this, but I don't care.
I'm quite happy to join this Doctor Who ride.
Hope you'll all join it with us.

Reccomendations for cartoons to watch include: Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Regular Show, the later seasons of MLP Friendship is Magic (for the sake of completing it and being able to properly evaluate the show), Steven Universe, DuckTales 2017, OK KO, Big City Greens, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Kim Possible, Hilda, Helluva Boss, Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated, She Ra 2018, and the Ben 10 franchise.
I actually still have another ask that is mostly this same list but I think Hilda and Helluva Boss are new. Mostly responding because something I find interesting about myself given how ruthless I can be with TOH is that, well...
I probably will never truly be able to be some big reviewer because when I start disliking something, I drop it. That's actually the big reason I'm responding is because there is NO WAY I am watching the like 4+ seasons of MLP:FiM that I didn't watch because I just can't engage with stuff I dislike. I find no joy in it and while I can rant for a couple episodes, it just loses my interest.
I never seek things out because I think I'll dislike them. I just don't think life is enjoyable that way. It's why I have no plans to return to Helluva Boss. I absolutely believe people would potentially send me asks about it with how polarizing it is but I got to the episode when Moxie and Blitzo are interrogated, went "Ah, I see, the two characters I hate the most and don't even find funny (Stolas and Blitzo) are the actual main characters and the pilot was potentially kind of a lie for what the real focus of the show is. I'm out." And I haven't watched an episode since. My brain struggles to click with media after all so why would I bother with media I actively know I dislike already?
I'll comment on a couple others that I have at least had experience with on the list in a minute but since Amphibia, I've watched the first season of Craig of the Creek and think that show is just AMAZING. There's at least one episode I keep wanting to do a blog on just because it exemplifies how much the show understands the wonder of fantasy and childhood without actually being fantastical. I've also seen S1 of SpyxFamily and some of S2 but right now the only streaming service I have consistent access to is Hulu (the Disney+ I was borrowing cancelled theirs to swap to Hulu) and they only have S1 dubbed of SpyxFamily.
I'm hoping to sometime soon actually watch Over the Garden Wall finally and just have been kind of a mess as of late as for why I haven't yet. I've heard only good things, and shockingly few spoilers, and it's about time I gave it a proper shot.
ANYWAYS:
Steven Universe: Watched the first episode and only really liked Greg so just didn't bother watching more. Steven was fine but I actively hated all three of the gems because of how brain dead they were in both segments of the episode. As far as pilots go, I think SU might genuinely have one of the worst I've ever seen for convincing you to like a main cast.
Gravity Falls: I rewatched the first episode recently and went "This is oooookay." Something about Dipper's VA just bothers me. Not like they're doing a bad job but that it falls into an uncanny valley my brain doesn't love. I really wish I could better explain why that show refuses to properly click for me.
Regular Show: I forget why but I've seen a few episodes. It's not bad but I don't think it's really for me. I find Rigby and Mordecai annoying more than anything else. Not awful but I think without it feeling like they're actually meant to be learning something, they fall into the trap Randy and Howard from Randy Cunningham fell into eventually for me where I was like "Okay, assholes can be fun for a while but if that's all you're ever going to be, I don't care."
Adventure Time: I have seen as many episodes where Fiona and Cake show up in that show than I have Finn and Jake. XD I have genuinely liked what I've seen and just for some reason never sought it out. Maybe someday.
Star Vs: I need to give S2 a chance but MAN when I got told they break up Marco and Jackie for NO REASON I lost a lot of interest in the show. I like Marco more than Star, and I've only seen S1, and thought Marco and Jackie's relationship was genuinely really nice and kind of unique. Also knowing it's most people's cartoon punching bag doesn't exactly fill me with enthusiasm for it.
Kim Possible: I remember rewatching the pilot a couple years ago and being shocked by how much I didn't care for Kim. I think the fact that Bonnie is the only one who gives her shit but she's actually just genuinely amazing at everything and liked by most make her just not compelling to me which is a shame because I have REALLY fond memories of the show. I'd probably commit to a rewatch of Danny Phantom first though since it has been just as long since I watched that.
(Weird fact: I was looking at Hulu's unfortunately limited amount of cartoons and saw they had Kick Buttowski of all things which is WILD to me.)
She-Ra: I've seen literally one episode, thought it was good, and definitely is one of the ones I keep telling myself to watch because everything about it seems like it'd be up my alley. These are also my thoughts on Voltron though with how much... less divisive that last season of Voltron is, it's definitely below watching Princesses of Power.
Ben 10: Loved the original series as a kid, tried the first two spin offs that came out and didn't really jive with either but I thought Julie, the tennis girl Ben gets with, was super cute. I know a friend who would LOVE to see me get into Ben 10 and do some reviews of it.
And just as an anime shout out, a part of me is still tempted to give Little Witch Academia another try. Not only is it just an obvious next show for me to watch but it's one I REALLY want to like because I like a lot about it... I just absolutely despise Akko from the like four episodes I watched a good number of years ago now. I thought almost all of the supporting characters were great though.
Just... Consider this my weird, rambly blog late at night about cartoons and the fact that I do wish I engaged with media better. One of the worst elements of it is that I don't engage well with scripted content well if my brain isn't already in an alright place. Like I don't go to television for distraction and cheering me up. I vastly prefer streams for that as I can actually turn my brain off during those normally. It's something I've talked about before and something I'd like to change. Heck, I even at one point had a therapy goal to watch something at least once a week since that'd still be easier than streaming or writing. Whoops. *sigh*
I do also appreciate the recommendations! The reminders are good sometimes since I don't feel like I actually stay in the loop all that well. And since I kind of assume this is the same person who sent a list before, I decided I felt like actually responding, especially because the MLP pitch is an interesting one but man... That's a LOT of Starlight Glimmer I'd have to put up with when just like six episodes of her as a good guy made me want to light both her and Twilight on fire to put them out of their, and mine, misery. That's without me getting into the fact that I just think the characters in general got worse by then, almost like series shouldn't last for that long because finding new angles on characters becomes REALLY HARD (says the dumbass with a series of his own that honestly is longer than he should reasonably plan a story for.)
Again, late night rambling while my brain deals with suddenly snapping out of a hyper focus on a game for three days and doesn't deal with that well. *sigh* Have a good night everyone, take care of yourself and see you next tale.

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 Week 2: I Have a Confession
So last night was week 2. And I was thinking of structuring this like last week, but only 1 and a half couples truly had me feeling energized about the night. So I guess we'll go back to the regular format. Because Jamie Lynn was eliminated, I'll just talk about her up here. After watching her dance, I wasn't shocked. With all the controversy that was following her, we needed to have at least one big week from her. We didn't get that at all. And outside of that one moment up in the skybox with Julianne when she redid that move from her cha cha, we didn't get much fun out of her either. So what happens when you have a controversial celeb (that people truly don't like) that has potential that is not even being scratched, who is kinda just there and not giving much in any department? You get a somewhat shocking (but not really when you think about it) elimination. If they wanted to stay, they had to do something to get our minds off of the Britney Jean sized elephant in the room. They didn't do that and I think I'm more shocked that they didn't vs the fact that she was eliminated. That being said, she went out on a positive note (for the most part). So hopefully she can internalize that.
The show itself was a snoozefest. Alfonso and Julianne have kinda been blah so far. The technique and performance quality of the vast majority of the stars was not good enough to have Latin night this early. I just feel like theme weeks should start week 4 at the absolute earliest. Week 5 is what I believe is ideal. Let everyone's skills get better so that we're not watching 4 couples stumble through a samba in week 2, all to fulfill a theme. And the dances that the pros have been giving to the celebs have been pretty ho hum across the board. So now let me start the recap.
Lele and Brandon- Samba (Score=21)- Lele did pretty well with this dance. This was the half a dance I was talking about and upon watching it back, I'm actually gonna up that to being fully impressed and I think this dance was underscored. It should've gotten at least one 8. I think Lele had an understanding of the technique and rhythm of the dance that none of the other samba doers truly understood. And her feet were pointed this time! Than you Brandon. I just want her to do some more refining things and she'll be set.
Tyson and Jenna- Salsa (Score=18)- What an improvement a week makes! Tyson was a completely different dancer out there. I just knew he wasn't a no hoper. We just needed him to get more comfortable out on the floor. What I want him to work on now is 1) getting the technique cleaner and 2) work on getting lighter on his feet. But he is definitely on the right path.
Barry and Peta- Cha-cha (Score=15)- Barry struggled a little bit more this week than he did last. But the foundation is there for him to give good Latin dances. He does have some rhythm and his technique is mostly nice. Those New Yorkers were really really nice. Now, we gotta get him to fix his pancake hands, work on the technique a bit more and loosen up them hips. But I really think these two could play spoiler to many couples this year if he keeps improving. And honestly, he might be a true dance contender.
Adrian and Britt- Samba (Score=15)- Mm. Okay so this was a challenge. So let me start with the good. His face was much better this time around. I also saw that he worked on cleaning up his footwork. Now, he struggled with the dance itself, he still needs to be lighter on his feet, the technique still needs work and he needs to do a better job of partnering Britt. Right now it's not working the way that it should. But if they stick around, I can see that getting better and him becoming a decent dancer.
Mira and Gleb- Salsa (Score=18)- Hmm. Okay. Mira has really nice technique. She has everything to be amazing. But she's currently petrified of the dances and she dances too light. I need Gleb to get her to realize that she's good. I also want him to tell her to dance through the floor and not just on top of it.
Xochitl and Val- Salsa (Score=24)- So I thought this was a good dance. It was missing something though and I can't really place my finger on what it was. Actually, I know what it was. It was too much and too fast. It's a critique I have of Val at least once a season. He jam packs so much into a dance that sometimes, his partners can't breathe. Xochitl did well enough, but I also felt like it might've been a little much and sometimes she got a tad behind. Also her arm in that last lift was not great. Very good dance though.
Ariana and Pasha- Samba (Score=20)- Ariana did alright for the most part part. There were several questionable moments where she either looked off balance or lost a bit of control. I'm gonna say it's her nerves right now because it's not bad. She's still a fantastic dancer and I'm also still worried about her fanbase. But she might benefit from the same things that Melissa Rycroft did in her first season. Only time will tell.
Mauricio and Emma- Salsa (Score=12)- Mauricio actually started out doing pretty well. The problems that most of the other men dealt with this week, he did not deal with it. That was up until he forgot everything. And then the routine crashed. I'm actually shocked that Mauricio didn't get eliminated this week. But I guess people really pulled through for them. I still don't think Mauricio will last long, but hopefully he can come back strong next week.
Alyson and Sasha- Tango (Score=19)- Alyson also had a major improvement this week. I have to admit, I didn't think we could get this level of dancing out of Alyson. But we got it and it was a legitimately good dance. Now, I want her to dance with more intention. She placed everything pretty well, but it wasn't as strong as it could've been. I also want her to relax a little bit more throughout the dances. But we're moving in the right direction.
Charity and Ezra- Cha-cha (Score=21)- As we know, Artem had COVID and had to sit out this week. So we got Ezra as a fill in and I'm glad we got to see Ezra in this capacity. I would not mind seeing him as a pro next season. Ezra is also gay and we're lacking that representation with Louis gone (even though Louis is a bitter and hateful ass bitch and I don't get that energy from Ezra at all) and I don't think we've ever had that on the women's side of things (please correct me if I'm wrong). Now onto Charity. It was cool. Technically, it was a great dance. But I feel like she was timid and stiff. I'll chalk up a lot of that to having a new partner and just being nervous in general. She'll be better as the show goes on, but this just wasn't her best.
Harry and Rylee- Salsa (Score=15)- Harry moves very small and is still terrified of these dances. I think he handled this one better and I saw some improvement. He stayed on time more. But it's still not great. I don't think he can get to a great or even a good level. But he is improving and he can shock us. I mean Alyson definitely shocked me this week.
Jason and Daniella- Rumba (Score=24)- This was the best dance of the night. I think Jason might be the one to beat. I have to see a ballroom dance from him but I do not have any reason to believe that he will really struggle with those based on what he's shown and the past work of Daniella. I did see the misstep that CAI was talking about, but wow, what a dance. I was incredibly impressed.
So that's what I thought about the show. Let me know your thoughts and I will talk to you all soon.

The Owl House-Thanks to Them Recap
Tumblr media
Luz and the witches struggle to adapt to the human realm while dark forces gather. Also Camila is MVP of cartoon moms. Spoilers below.
Well, this was fantastic. There was some fear as to see if the shortened season would hurt it. Answer, not yet. Now The Owl House was always a lean show, even its most fillery episodes contained some plot momentum, so the shortened time doesn’t seem to be affecting them as much as it did star vs or steven universe.
So we began right where we left off. I’m a little surprised at this as I thought we would get a time skip, but we do get to see mother and daughter reunite. So that’s nice. We do get a montage of the kids hanging out on Earth. Including Luz coming out to her mom in a sweet video and some nice lumity moments. I know everyone is talking about this as an abridged season and it’s hard not to, but this does work on its own. If you didn’t know about the cancellation, it works as a good montage. The whole episode is like this. The pacing of the whole episode is perfect. I’d rather celebrate what we have than mourn what might have been if that makes sense.
Luz is not dealing well with school, with the painful reminders of her past, that look the art teacher gives man, and Luz projecting onto a character in a class book, egg is still egg, and she’s the only one who can’t do magic. We do get some foreshadowing with Luz's pailsmen, which the egg is placed next to some snake skin.
Camila is the real MVP of this episode. She’s trying to research on how best to raise nonhuman kids and she's down to find them blood. She’s even reading into gender nonbinary; I do wonder if it’s for the gender nonconforming Luz or the shapeshifting Vee. We also learn that she was a god damn trekkie. That’s so cute. What’s not so cute, Camila too was bullied as a teen and was pressured into sending Luz to the camp. It was so heartbreaking to watch Camila just get beaten down by society.
And we get to see the goth teen again. Who it turns out is non binary. Good for them. And they reveal the Whitbane brothers backstory. It’s what the fandom assumed, Caleb dating a witch, Philip kills him, but it’s nice to see it confirmed. It is weird that they don’t notice how different Luz is. Did Luz keep up with Vee’s friends when he took her life back? I think this is the only part I felt the loss of a full season. We do get to see them hang out with Vee in credits so that’s something.
Hunter is living his best life free of Belos, getting into wolves and the star trek knock off. So naturally he gets processed by Belos. They discover a bit of Titans blood, which makes Luz’s glyphs work again. The whole graveyard fight is wonderfully done. Both actionwise and thematic wise. And they went full smooth for the fight.  Vee, you would think would be super helpful here but Willow pushes her to the side after Belos nearly punches her.
Hunter takes back control and drowns himself, but Belos just slimes out of him and opens the portal. An injured flapjack gives his life to save Hunter. God, listening to everyone talk about if the hospital could even help Hunter gave me chills. Hunter lives with a renewed view of his identity. He tells Luz she’s not to blame, Belos tricks people, that's what he does. Camila declares that she’ll go with the gang to the demon realm, helping to save Luz’s relationship with the people she loves.
Willow acts like she’ll be back, Vee stays behind which is a little sad but a) she has trauma associated with the Boiling Isles and b) the writers have enough characters to juggle for the finale two specials.
This was a fantastic episode and kudos to the crew making some damn fine lemonade from some sour lemons. 4/4
