I really don’t want to add onto your pile of asks you’re working through but I had an idea I just had to send: the Ratatouille thing, but with like Altaïr controlling Ezio or some other combo of the ancestors congrolling each other!
Idk if Desmond’s there too or not, I’m mostly just imagining Ezio fanboying over being possessed by the Altaïr, while Altaïr is just acting annoyed at the whole thing but also fanboying himself over all the knowledge he now has access to.
And then imagine throwing the players into the equation. Just pure and complete chaos, somebody is screaming, guards are getting alerted and killed, and nothing’s actually getting done.
The Ratatouille AU where the ancestors can hear Desmond while ‘playing’, its more unhinged cousin, the Ratatouille AU where Desmond can hear us and the outside POV of Al Mualim thinking the Apple broke Altaïr. (I hope I didn’t forget anything else)
“It is truly an honor-”
“Yes, you’ve already said that.”
“Words cannot express-”
“Then don’t bother saying anything. No. Don’t open your mouth. I don’t have time for any of your insincere drivel.”
Ezio grew quiet as he stared at the open journal on the desk in front of him before he noted, “You are more easily irritated than I imagined.”
“Only when I’m around people who waste my time.” There was a half a second moment of silence before he added, “Or when the person I’m talking to is not saying what he truly wishes to say.”
Ezio rested one of his elbows on the table and placed his chin on his open palm, “It’s simply quite curious that the day I lost Desmond’s voice in my head is the day you tried to control me.”
“I was trying to connect to Desmond.” His voice was laced with annoyance and he took a deep breath before reminding Ezio, “As I explained before, it was never my intention to connect with you, Ezio Auditore. But now that I’m connected to you, I can’t even try to connect with Desmond at all.”
Ezio hummed.
Sure, he had been elated when Altaïr had introduced himself.
But, at the same time…
He had been worried.
According to Altaïr, he had learned of a way to connect to Desmond using the Apple after hearing a disjointed message that told him he should be able to do such a thing by forcing the Apple to do his bidding.
Altaïr was unsure himself because and he quoted, the voice ended the message with a ‘…. maybe? We believe in you, short king!’ which makes Ezio and Altaïr believe it was a message from one of the many voices that Desmond says he could hear.
Ezio had been worried because he lost Desmond’s voice a few days before Altaïr connected with him so he can’t help but think they were connected.
But both of them do not have any other clues other than the possibility that the Apple that he had been searching could hold a clue to why Altaïr had connected to him instead of Desmond.
And maybe Ezio himself could connect with Desmond as well…
Right now…
“Señor.”
Ezio closed the journal and put it on his bag as he quickly stood and turned towards the door.
“We will be docking in Barcelona shortly. Capitana told me to inform you that the guards will be checking the ship but they will start on the deck. They won’t be looking at the ‘place’ he showed you last time.”
“Grazie.” Ezio said with a nod even though the messenger could not see him, “Please give the captain my thanks as well.”
“I will, señor. Good luck.”
Ezio took a deep breath before he said, “As much as I would like to continue to look for the Apple, it’s important-”
“Oooohhhh. I don’t remember this cutscene.”
Ezio stopped.
That wasn’t Altaïr’s voice.
It was a woman…
“Hello?” Ezio asked as he looked around.
There was no answer.
Ezio opened his mouth-
“Are you one of Desmond’s voices?” Altaïr asked before he could.
There was a moment of silence before…
“Are… are you talking to me?”
“Yes.” Altaïr and Ezio answered at the same time.
The voice grew quiet once more before…
“Uuuuhhhh… shit. Did I… fucked my DS up???”

The Fernweh Saga by @lacunafiction - Agnes edition
Who would have thought? 🤭
Agnes "Nes" Sigrún
🌑RO: James Corvin
Personality: sincerity // cautious // friendly // merciful
Traits: heart // compliance // believer
Past affinity: writing [horror stories]
Primary ability: empathetic impressions
Past susceptibility: receptive
☀️Fernweh: She never really thought about leaving Fernweh… It was her place, near her family and friend(s). She felt good there and assumed she’s gonna spend her whole life happily in this little town.
Even if Fernweh brings back devastating memories, she’s curious about what’s happening in Fernweh now, in her true home. It’s always been her dream to work in Turn The Page, and during her ‘short’ stay in Fernweh, she started thinking about it again. Why not stay for longer…? She would love to carry on her grandfather’s work and bring his legacy justice.
☀️Grandpa Jóhann: When she was young, she had an amazing relationship with her grandpa. They were completely honest with each other, and she loved him wholeheartedly. Some people thought that making her grandpa proud was her main hobby. She used to tell him all about her dreams that she had, which were always wild... and also about the nightmares… It took her by surprise when her grandpa, one of the most important people in her life, started being less involved. She was hurt and began to wonder if she had done something to cause the distance between them.
His decision to move her out of Fernweh so quickly after this tragic event made a huge impact on her mental state. She needed time to cope and be with her closest ones, especially her grandpa...but after all she didn't blame him. She often heard that she looked exactly like her mother…like her grandpa's daughter... She assumed he could not look at her, without thinking about her... And she could not blame him for wanting to escape that pain. Agnes knew it was the best thing that her grandpa could do for him, and she accepted it, too eagerly. She always too eagerly took the blame for everything.
☀️Beckett Warrick: After what happened in Fernweh after James she had even more trouble interacting with other people and making new friends… However, Beckett was an exception. He was the first person who got to truly know her after the events in Fernweh. When she got the letter about her Grandpa, she considered hiding the truth from him, because she knew deep down that he would be there for her if she needed him… even if he would not particularly enjoy it. It's a good thing she’s such a bad liar…
Her main concern is about Beckett’s well-being. She noticed that this 'little' trip made a huge impact on him. He wasn’t supposed to be here, and it’s because of her that he–... She needs to make sure that nothing happens to her friend. And she will somehow manage to bring him back to his home.
☀️Reese Verner: They had an unconventional relationship. Reese saw her as a rival, while Agnes thought of him as a friend. She was confused about why Verner, someone of great importance, would even look at her see her as a rival. She knew there were better candidates for his games. She had only one question on her mind - “why?”. Despite Verner's playful teasing, Agnes always remained polite and friendly towards him, even when he attempted to push her boundaries. Girl knew how to keep her true feelings behind a warm smile she still does.
If I can be completely honest… Agnes was rather shocked that Reese still remembered her… and was actually looking for her, which sounded so unbelievably. His concern for Milton's well-being made her see him in a slightly different light. Of course, she already knew Reese had a good heart, but his behaviour really touched her. Additionally, Agnes noticed that Reese and James’ relationship became stronger and deeper… It’s for the best. James deserves someone as dependable as Reese. He will always be there for James.
☀️Sofia Dorran: Their bond was formed over a shared admiration for books and... the color blue. It may sound funny now, but these things became central to their lives and deepened their friendship. Sofia was the first person Agnes entrusted with her writing, and valued her honest feedback, knowing that Sofia would not make her feel bad if something needed improvement. They frequently borrowed books from each other's collections.
Agnes yearned for the days when she and Sofia had reading sessions together, sipping on their favorite beverage. The only issue back then was when the book ended poorly or their library didn't have any new positions for them to read. She's willing to know how Sofia's taste toward books shifted (if shifted) and how she changed as a person. She's also extremely grateful because her grandfather received constant care from Sofia and her mother.
🌑James Corvin: …Do I really need to tell you that James was her first crush? And that she never found the courage to tell him so? maybe now will be the time? Agnes and James were always together, wherever one went the other followed. They were inseparable. Agnes even used to bake oatmeal cookies for James with her mother's help. They dreamed of their idyllic life together. As friends, obviously.
Seeing him again after all those years was much harder than she anticipated. Agnes felt overwhelmed with stress from the moment she stepped out of her car. Every time she heard his surname, she unknowingly flinched. Her mind was full of questions about his well-being, life, and changes. She couldn't help but wonder if he would be happy to see her. …she did manage to hold his hand for a moment, I can consider it as a success
☀️Alex Corvin: Agnes has always looked up to Alex for their adventurous spirit and their willingness to embrace life to the fullest. She has always wanted to adopt a bit of Alex' wild side. Whenever they are around, boredom and dullness seem to disappear. They both share similar values and support each other's life goals.
If I would say which person Agnes was the most willing to meet during her stay in Fernweh that would be Alex. She was confident in their friendliness towards everybody and was sure that their kindness had not wavered. Agnes was touched when she heard that Alex was looking after her grandfather's bookstore… It appears that Beckett has a new admirer, which Agnes wholeheartedly approves of.
☀️Mal: Agnes has a sense that Mal might be suspicious, but she is quite naive and doesn't believe that he could mean trouble. Although she is wary of him and finds him a little untrustworthy, Agnes believes in being kind to everyone, and she is willing to give Mal a chance, not judging him by her own impressions of him.
☀️Goldie: Agnes is grateful that her grandfather had a furry companion like Goldie, who probably managed to brighten his spirits. She fondly recalls how her grandfather would tell her stories when he once had a dog, when he was younger and how his eyes would light up with joy as he shared his story. Agnes is committed to taking excellent care of Goldie and ensuring her safety.

Okay but like @betasuppe got me thinking of Champion Emmet & Zoroakari crossover and got me considering that whenever Emmet ended up going to the past, Akari had been a Zoroark for a minute so it’s just this like. Open secret that people tend to Know- yeah, Akari, the survey kid, she died and became a Zoroark! Everybody knows that! That Zoroark is Akari! Full stop! It’s not hot gossip anymore, nobody brings up pre-murder Akari. Sure, people give the Zoroark the stink-eye every now and then, but hey. Stranger danger! People probably give Emmet the stink-eye too!
So everyone knows except Emmet, who wasn’t around to meet pre-murder Akari and therefore, the only Akari he knows IS the Zoroark-Akari, whom he only ever sees as a Zoroark. Maybe he doesn’t think anything of it, given the Zoroarks he knew in Unova, and just kind of goes with “yeah, that’s Ingo’s daughter who’s a pokemon, okay. Kind of weird, but okay.” Maybe he does think about it and doesn’t ask, or if he tries to ask "so how did you get a zoroark for a daughter" he gets a non-answer of "I took care of her and we bonded :)" or something.
Until he like. Sees a photo of pre-Zoroark Akari with Ingo, or finds her talking to Ingo in her human illusion. But either way Ingo and Akari are both around and he goes, “Who’s the girl in the photo?” or “Who’s this kid?” and there’s an awkward silence of oh, right. He doesn’t know. And either Ingo or Akari has to drop the bomb of “fun fact: Akari got murdered and came back as a pokemon"
Just- his reaction of finding out "yeah she used to be human but then someone killed her and she came back as a zoroark and Shit Happened :( but at least she's alive!" fjdsakflasd
(and then of course, the next bomb dropped (later) is "also she's killed someone before" xD)

Highschool au: Student Council President Munakata only started being around Mikoto becuase he wanted to try and turn the delinquent into a good student. The two didn't get along well at first but soon they got close although they'd deny it. The teachers started noticing that too and was worried Munakata would be dragged down by hanging out with a delinquent so they advice him to stay away from Mikoto for his own good. Mikoto was also separately told the same thing. How would the two respond?
I just imagine a teacher telling Mikoto to stay away from Munakata and he’s like ‘I’ve been trying to do that since we met, tell this to that guy instead.’ Mikoto has of course been Munakata’s ‘pet project’ since he started high school, imagine Munakata transfers in and almost immediately stages an inadvertent coup in the student council and becomes the youngest student council president ever. He feels that it is his duty to foster an environment of peace and learning amongst his fellow students and that includes even the delinquents. Naturally he finds himself at odds with the school’s biggest delinquent, Suoh Mikoto, a guy who sleeps through his classes and gets into fights all the time. The teachers all tell Munakata not to mind Mikoto, there’s no reason for someone as talented as Munakata to waste his time with someone who won’t amount to anything, but Munakata personally sees this as a challenge, to set this poor delinquent on the right path (he comes out of his first meeting with Mikoto with the desire to set Mikoto on the right path and also to punch him very hard in the face).
At first Munakata’s only focus is to get Mikoto to become a good student but soon they develop an odd sort of rivalry/rapport, they’re constantly at odds but at the same time Munakata feels his heart pounding whenever he has a moment to talk with Suoh. Mikoto for his part complains about the uptight guy who won’t leave him alone but he always gets this feral grin whenever Munakata shows up to lecture him, he’s enjoying watching Munakata’s perfect persona get ruffled for once. The teachers are initially cautiously optimistic that Munakata may actually be able to turn Mikoto around but quickly it becomes clear that this won’t be happening, in fact Munakata’s perfect student veneer constantly gets challenged whenever he and Mikoto are together.
At some point a teacher pulls Munakata aside, wanting to give him some advice. They let Munakata know that hanging around a delinquent like this can’t be good for him or for the school, for the sake of his own goals Munakata should cease having any contact with Suoh Mikoto. At the same time another teacher scolds Mikoto, telling him that it’s fine if he never amounts to anything but he’s dragging an exemplary student like Munakata down and they won’t let that happen, he’s forbidden from speaking with Munakata again. Both Munakata and Mikoto listen to these lectures, Munakata with a calm smile and Mikoto with a bored face, and then leave the room.
They run into each other in the hall and Munakata informs Mikoto that smoking is not allowed on school grounds. Mikoto tosses the lit cigarette at Munakata and says aren’t you supposed to not talk to me anymore, thought you were a good little student. Munakata scoffs and says of course he endeavors to listen to his elders but in some things he cannot bend, clearly without his guidance Mikoto would stray even further into the path of the delinquent. Mikoto chuckles like aren’t you limiting your prospects hanging out with a delinquent, Munakata says on the contrary, it will be an excellent point for his college applications that he tamed a wild beast. Mikoto thinks that’s pretty optimistic isn’t it, when Munakata hasn’t managed to do a thing to ‘curb Mikoto’s ways’ yet, and Munakata just smiles widely back as he says even so, he does hate to back down when faced with a challenge, he will have to regretfully spurn the advice of his teachers in this one area.

YOOO PRETZ! 37, 40, and 45 for the worldbuilding ask game!! (on a side note, does your lanterns world have a name?)
HEY BLU!!! Thanks for asking!
Starting with the question if my world has another name, yes. Kind of? It's still Earth but it can also be called Adamina, which was the name of an old Goddess who gave her body away so life could exist.
Stories tell that she found the vast universe to be too lonely with only her and some other Gods - and she also didn't find confort in their own particular dimension. Being so sad about it all, she curled up into a ball and went into a deep sleep; after many years her body changed so much it became the planet Earth - and it's core is her heart, still beating.
If your question was not about the planet in fact, then I don't know- between me and my best friend, we call the whole universe as Fantasia :]
Now, onto the questions:
37. Is there an afterlife in your story's universe?
The short answer to this is yes, but the longer version is... complicated? There are actually multiple afterlifes, each with their own use. There are four that are most important:
Limbo: in this world, the souls of dead people end up on Limbo when a very rare type of peculiar, dedicated to the art of death, cleans up the body and soul in a ritual. They are called Mordeshor and it is partly inspired in a book i've read, but can't quite remember the name.
Mordeshor people receive the bodies of the dead to clean them and send their soul to the Station. There, a demi-god called Pennydarren will load their souls into a train and take them to the Limbo, which is the place souls can finally rest (mostly, bad souls are forced into eternal labor for the God who oversees it all; this bit was inspired in Hadestown)
Void: the void is the empty, a blackness where unfortunate kinds can be lost and never found. They can see the train traversing it, but can never interact or be seen by anyone besides Athena, who uses the Limbo to traverse space with portals; it's a shortcut.
It is very rare for a soul to be stuck there, but when it does it's very panful. Their bodies slowly wither away and theirsanity goes too after too long stuck in the place; the void is the fine veil between death and life. It's where Mordeshors came from and what makes normal people unable to see the dead.
Library of Souls: this was inspired in the MPHFPC series, where a similar place exists. It's where the souls of old and powerful gods, wizards, titans and peculiars go to rest, apart from the Limbo. There, their powers can await until they need to be passed down to another person.
Ghosts: finally, the ghosts. Those who turn into ghosts are people that can't be cleaned by Mordeshors for whatever reason. They are very common during wars and tend to get stuck with people, making company. Since they are dead, only Mordeshors and Gods connected with the dead can see them normaly - unless a ritual is done so more people can see them.
My characters do have a lot of ghosts who won't make any appearances in Lanterns. They are the ghosts of the men killed on combat during war, who stuck around with Sam, Dean and Pangey.
Ghost normally can't interact with the world of living, unless they are taken by fits of rage. Then, they can hurt live people, normally stealing their skin to try and be a live pedson again - but their perceptions of life are strange and they can't convince anyone. When that happens, a Mordeshor can send them to the Limbo.
40. How safe or unsafe is the place your characters live in? And what makes it this way?
It's not safe for magical people, in general. Normaly the non-magical have no problems, but those who do have it... well...
They live in secrecy for fear of both the no-majs (yes, it's the term from Fantastic Beasts) and the creatures that hunt them for their magic.
Besides that, there are always the creatures, which can actually be any magical crature who is Not Friendly(TM), such as unicorns, dragons, sirens, kute-kutes, demons, sea beasts and whatever. Some are really small, others are insanely huge, it all depends on locations.
That is why most magical people live in groups, really far from no-majs, or straight up live in a time-hole or time-loop, who are created by the Ymbrynes (bird women, this idea is taken from MPHFPC) exactly for them to live in safely.
45. Is there a pop culture, what is considered "cool"? If there's no pop culture, what are some traditions that your characters follow that have been inherited from ancestors or the culture they were raised in?
The actual pop culture doesn't differ from or Earth's, (mostly because of my lazy ass), so that is kind of the same? I mean, what wouldbe considered really fucking cool is getting moving tattoos or having strange magical pets, but that is only for the magical people - no-majs are just like people from earth. What would you version of this world be doing? Mine eouldbe on her phine all the time KAKAKA
But for the culture, there are religious indeed religious practices that are a big part of day to day life.
They believe that carrying symbols for the gods grant protection and luck, there are statues and small temples where people can go all over the world, do their rituals.
Each god has it's own set of prayers, symbols, rituals and whatever; some are done only un special occasion, such as death, birth, marriage or birthdays. Many people, when of age, choose only one of the many Gods to follow above the others - it all comes down to preference.
Would you like to be more in touch with nature? Do you work with the ocean or the water? Or a connection with beauty? The sun? Justice? Are you a soldier or someone with power? One to seek knowledge or to help others?
Choosing a God is an incredibly important thing to do for everyone. On the day of the 15th birthday, a celebration is held into a Temple of Hydra so the child can choose who they may follow - and if they change their mind later, it also can be done.
The religion is a big part of the life of the people who live in Fantasia, so it's of extremely importance in their culture as well.
