Domestic bliss.

River has snacks and her own personal frozen water bottle, so she has no idea that we have no AC and it's 90F (32C) outside right now with wildfire smoke. She is comfy and living her best life!  Fingers crossed they can get the repair work done before the temps are back in the 90s later this week. 🌞🔥

Bunny care tip:  A frozen 16.9 oz (500mL) soda bottle filled to the top of the label, wrapped in paper towel and nestled in wood shavings on two sides for insulation will still be half frozen after 10 hours at 79F (26C).

Edit for more temp and frozen water bottle time:

A frozen 16.9 oz (500mL) soda bottle filled to the top of the label, wrapped in paper towel and nestled in wood shavings on two sides for insulation will be 60F (15.5C) completely melted but cool to the touch after 13 hours at 81F (27C).

aren't you liquifying under those black robes? i mean, seriously, i'm hardly wearing a damn thing and i feel like i'm dying. or do you have a spell for that? is there a 'keep cool in black robes' spell??

Not all black robes are created equal, of course. I have robes in a variety of materials, from wool to cotton to linen. Linen is the best most breathable material for summer - it is lightweight, airy, and soft. I also avoid full sun as much as I can help it, and my manor stays quite cool in the summer - and there are climate control spells to make it more comfortable if need be.

I also have quite the tolerance for heat, and I am more prone to seeking out warmth than shying from it after my rebirth. I sweat very little now, as well.

So, I just moved to New England! I'm obsessed with my neighborhood and apartment, but could use some advice!

My place doesn't have AC, but its been above 85 like every day this week. Can anyone recommend methods for staying cool/keeping at least my room cool short of buying a window unit? Any help would be much appreciated 🙏🏻

Toddler - Making Smoothie Popsicles

The toddlers are loving our summer-time Splash Day Fridays. On Thursday, they helped pour some fruit into the blender to make smoothies so they could enjoy a refreshing, healthy popsicle treat at the end of Splash Day.

Making sure my husky fur ball stays cool in this hot Texas weather. During the summer I put out these reusable cold packs for him to lay on. He also likes to hog the fan.

Its absolutely no coincidence that the people being sent baseless sexual assault accusations against predstrogen have, from what I've seen, been young transmascs.

The terfs behind the harassment campaign are so brazenly trying to prey on anybody they reckon might have any transmisogynist tendencies and are trying to use that to sow discord in the trans community. They see transmasculine people as potential avenues for recruitment (and eventual detransition) and it's extremely fucking important that the people being sent these anons do not fall headfirst for the bait. They want you to go 'uh oh, guess trans women are sex pests after all' and that to stick with you and fester, and turn that seed of prejudice into the continued harm of transfem people.

If you want to be a meaningful ally to transfem people right now you have to be vigilant for this shit, and correct it where you see it. If you think being used as an angle of recruitment by bigoted harassment is gross, imagine how it would feel to be the damn focus of the harassment.
