Mastergame is on Netflix!!! Not sure in which regions, but if it is available where you are, go see it now! It is available with Hungarian audio and English subs.

Netflix has it marked as Psychological + Suspenseful (it also has a 16+ PG rating), which is fine, I guess, just like the summary: "Escaping by train after the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956, two lovers discover their fate may rest on a high-stakes chess match."

BUT!

Believe me when I tell you this can NOT prepare you for this movie. I cannot tell you what other movies it reminds me because you don't want this spoiled. I watched it 3 times in theatres when it was released, and I NEED to watch it frame by frame. I need to EAT IT.

It is built up so well. The cinematography is gorgeous. But not just gorgeous: Pictures happen for a reason. Framing happens for a reason. Sentences happen for a reason. Every frame and every sentence is in place. The editing. The storytelling. The twists. The characters. The humour. Auauauauuafsdkgnydfl. (I'm not exactly happy with acting on part of the girl, but this is the worst thing I can say about this movie.)

I'm so excited that I can FINALLY watch it again.

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY REVIEW

The highly anticipated Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion, arrived in theaters for one week only before its #Netflix streaming debut on Christmas. #GlassOnionAKnivesOutMystery stands on its own story-wise and does not rely on any previous knowledge of its original.

The only returning element between movies is Daniel Craig's detective character, Benoit Blanc, as he gets invited to a wealthy business influencer's murder mystery party. With another ensemble cast of A-List performers and Craig as the lead, Glass Onion does a great job of keeping the story unpredictable and engaging (even if it never reaches the heights of its predecessor).

Where the first film is about proving someone's innocence, Glass Onion is about getting justice and revenge. Using a similar story structure and pacing, Glass Onion is both familiar and fresh with it playing out more like a traditional Whodunit. While it is arguable that Glass Onion could be considered a "copy and paste sequel", there remains plenty of originality to behold.

Where this sequel falls short compared to its predecessor is the lack of a satisfying wrap-up. Every moment in that first film felt important and crucial to the overall narrative. While intentional, the finale of Glass Onion is purposely misleading and far-fetched. The ending is less about the good ones getting what they're owed and more about taking away from the manipulators and silent observers.

Even if it doesn't top the first one, Glass Onion is a very entertaining and fun murder mystery. While I would imagine repeated viewing will only enhance it, there is a balance of edge-of-your-seat thrills and laugh-out-loud moments. Keep Glass Onion on your radar this holiday season!
