Sequel thought to Soap's sweet neighbor - heads up: Soap's absolutely shameless
You think you might be cursed (or blessed, but you don't want to admit to ogling your hot military neighbor, thoughts of him haunting your nearly every waking hour) because every single time, without fail, no matter what time you come by, you always catch him when he's stripped half naked for one reason or another. Sometimes fully naked with nothing but a towel hiding his modesty. His rather... well endowed modesty if the outline of it is accurate beneath that towel of his. Not that you meant to look the few times he's answered in nothing but a towel. It's just... your eyes couldn't help glancing over it once or twice.
Still. You try not to be a weirdo pervert towards your neighbor. He's kind and done nothing but trust you to care over his home when he's gone. You don't wanna break that trust by becoming some kind of perving degenerate just because he happens to give you eye candy when you come by.
"Mornin', sweets!"
... and when he catches up to you on your walks during his morning run. Always shirtless. Not that you can blame him during the summer heat, but you have to remember to not let your stare linger.
"Good morning, John." You smile shyly at him, gaze washing over him briefly before dropping to the pavement. He slows to match your pace. He always does this, finishing his runs by finishing your walks with you.
"Pretty hot, huh?" says Adonis himself, stretching out his tricep, arm swung out to the side with the other pressing against it. You struggle to keep your cool.
"Yeah. So hot," You croak out lamely, hurrying to hand him a water bottle from your little backpack to change the subject. "Here."
You've taken to walking with a bag filled with three water bottles- two for him, the other for you- and a few other miscellaneous items shortly after John started walking home with you once he finished his runs.
"Thanks, hen, you're the best!" He takes the bottle with a wide grin, and like he always does- always, fuck's sake- John cracks open the seal and pours the water over his head.
A low, spine-shivering groan draws out of his mouth as the cool liquid trickles down his head and neck, the water trailing over the muscles of his chest and torso. His pecs and abs flex at the sensation, sparkling under the sun the more the water washes over him. Fuck.
You try not to let your eyes linger, but it's so damn hard when John uses his other hand to rub the water over the parts of his body it missed. You almost choke when his hand casually brushes down his happy trail, the tips of his fingers briefly slipping under the front of his running shorts.
Teeth audibly clicking shut, you look away, head turned nearly ninety degrees to the side as you do anything to not perv over your neighbor. You miss the cheeky, victorious grin John shoots your way.
"It's no problem," you mumble and reach into your bag to pull out your umbrella, opening it and holding it so it shades you and John. "Did you put sunscreen on? You always forget."
John takes the umbrella from your hand without much protest from you- he never listens to them, anyways- and holds it for the both of you, though you quietly note he tends to give you more shade than himself every time he does this, his shoulder often exposed to the sun. Today is no different.
"Ahh, I'll remember one of these days," John chuckles, bumping his elbow against you. "Always lookin' out for me, sweets."
Looking out for him and looking at him. You take a quick glance from the corner of your eye before huffing softly and holding your hand out, gesturing for the empty water bottle in his other hand, choosing to ignore what he said, not really knowing how to respond. "Gimme."
John laughs. "So demandin'."
But he hands it over for you to stuff back into your backpack and pull out his second water bottle, breaking the seal for him before handing it over. "Here."
He takes it with a smile. "And attentive."
Grumbling, you refuse to look at him. "Just drink your water. Gonna dehydrate at this rate."
He chuckles lowly, but you hear him take a few big gulps before crushing the plastic in his grip and handing it back over to you, tapping it against your belly. "What about you? Drink your water yet?"
Taking back the crushed bottle, you put it in your pack, but leave your water alone. "I'll finish it later."
"You need to hydrate, too!"
"I'm not the one who ran in this hot weather and sweat out all my liquids." You don't let yourself express the embarrassment you feel at the phrasing of your words, though you certainly feel your cheeks warm, but you can excuse that for walking in the hot weather. "I'll be fine."
"Tch, stubborn thing- and I didn't sweat out all my liquids-"
You cut him off with a flustered jab to his bicep, certainly not hard enough to hurt, but he shuts up nonetheless, snickering at the break in your composure.
"When do you need me to watch your house again?" You ask, not bothering to be smooth about changing the subject nor caring that you already know when he's leaving again, having his deployment marked in your calendar.
"Next week." John indulges you, but then taps your temple with his free hand. "Texted you my schedule last night, remember?"
Feeling your cheeks warm again, you scoff, looking off to the side with a pout. Mumbling, you don't even attempt to sound convincing, "Ahh, yeah, that's right. I forgot- oh, look there are our houses! Let's hurry back."
Without waiting for a response, you quicken your pace, speed walking ahead. You take deep breaths. Fuck, you're always fumbling around him. Stop being so fucking weird. You hold in a groan. Easier said than done.
You hear a jaunty laugh come from behind you, but John- thankfully, mercifully- gives you a moment to collect yourself before jogging to catch up to you again. He lifts the umbrella over you, the shade providing a relief from the heat you didn't notice when you stepped out from under it. "Aren't you always gettin' on me about protectin' my skin from the sun? Gotta protect yours too."
"I put sunscreen on," you point out, "but the shade is nice."
"Aye." John shoots you a smile and steps just a tad closer to you, but that might just be your imagination. "It's nice."
Feeling something warm flutter in your stomach, you gawk at the way his eyes shine for a moment before ducking your head down and biting your lip.
Yeah. It's nice.
Not too long a walk later, you make it back to your house with John escorting you to your doorstep despite his house being closer at the end of your walking route. He collapses the umbrella and hands it back to you. You take it, fingers brushing his, and slip it into your backpack again.
"Should get you one of my tactical vests to hold your things," John teases.
Huffing a small noise of amusement, you give a little, impish smirk. "Yeah, you should. I could whip out the sunscreen like a gun that way."
"That's a scary thought." John laughs, the deep timbre sounding like bells in your ears, but you don't dwell on it. "I'll see you later then, sweets?"
You nod. "Mm. Tomorrow?"
"Aye." Then he smirks. "Don't miss me too much."
You roll your eyes, but bite back a smile, answering with as much deadpan as you can manage, "I'll try."
And that should be that. You should be safe from making a fool of yourself once this interaction is done, but instead of waving a goodbye and walking back to his house like he usually does, your shirtless, still slightly sticky from sweat neighbor leans in and pulls you into a side hug, pressing your body against his.
His very muscular body. Firm yet soft in all the best places. Toned perfectly from his job. And it's touching you. He's touching you, holding you tight against his body. You take a breath to calm yourself.
It works. Briefly. Until he squeezes you closer and your brain short circuits.
"That's my sweet girl," John says, but you hardly hear it over the rush in your head. He lets go and backs away, waving as he walks towards his house. "I'll remember to put sunscreen on tomorrow, promise!"
All you can get out is a pathetic, little, "Uh-huh."

Soap show some mercy, you're going to kill your poor neighbor at this rate 😪

You never let me in, Buck sends, two of three sheets fully winded, and when he kicks his leg over the coffee table he nearly knocks over three empties.
They do this thing, right? Buck gets upset and before the tears can fall, because he's cried too many fucking times already, he makes himself angry. Picks at something that has come up every time he's done a post-mortem on the last six months.
And then he sends that shit to Tommy. Because - because who the fuck else is he supposed to talk to about it? The guy who'd sucked him off in the hallway of a nightclub two weeks ago? The woman who'd spent an hour quietly helping Buck understand that yeah, he was very much bi, and yeah, some people did not like that shit? Maddie, or Chim, or Hen or Eddie, who still might interact with him on the job? Bobby? Fuck, not Bobby.
Bobby who'd blinked at Buck and offered platitudes and apologized to Buck like it was somehow his fault Tommy was good people but he was the kind of good people who just walked out on something that could have been something.
I should have pushed more. I know I should have. I just thought since I was trying to share everything, you were too.
My mistake.
Three months and Buck isn't over it. He's far enough into the mourning process that he thinks this one is always gonna sting, and not for the reasons Tommy thinks.
That's not fair. I'm sorry.
The texts get delivered. Tommy reads them. Buck's had read receipts on since the first time Tommy went quiet on a call and Buck freaked out a little - but back then they were still working towards something. Back then, sometimes Tommy would pull out his phone and open the thread just to give Buck sign of life.
He was always doing that. Heading shit off at the pass.
Buck had just never realized he'd be able to do it to hurt him, just as well as take care of him.
Every four weeks like clockwork Buck gets a response. He has no fucking idea why it's four weeks, what the third Thursday of the month has to do with Tommy feeling gracious enough to give Buck some clarity. He'd never known enough about Tommy, is the thing he's coming around to. He'd done everything he could to bring Tommy in, make him a part, and Tommy had let him. Tommy had distracted him with quippy words and a clever tongue and with being so fucking willing to be integrated into Buck's life that Buck just - hadn't noticed.
No one will say it, but he Bucked It Up in the worst kind of way.
He's waited until Third Thursday to send these texts. He actually hasn't sent anything at all, until this moment, and he wonders if Tommy noticed. If he cared. Tommy picks and chooses from Buck's random thoughts, parses out details like he's reading from a manual and Buck is off topic two thirds of the time. Buck doesn't actually know why he's been answering, all this time. He wonders if, in the last four weeks of silence, he thought he was finally done with Buck.
He wonders if it had hurt.
Buck sets his phone down to stand, skating across to the kitchen in his socks for the pizza rolls in the oven.
His diet is shit. His body feels like crap. He's one more drunken nights sleep on the couch away from emptying the rack in his fridge down the drain and giving sobriety a try. The last person he'd slept with had hinted that they'd prefer not to use condoms and Buck had almost let them.
Buck has worth. He knows he does. It's just sometimes when he remembers that every person he's ever loved has either walked out on him or let him walk away when he needed them, he struggles to find that worth.
His life has meaning, and all that jazz.
Buck sort of wonders if Tommy hasn't finally blocked his number, as he tosses a too-hot pizza roll in his mouth and huffs on the lava cheese burning his tongue. After the last message Buck had sent, three weeks ago, he wouldn't exactly be surprised.
(This is basically just an unhinged grief journal with an unreliable second narrator. Do you know what it's like to realize you're still in love with someone who never let you know them?)
There's been no response to that. Fair. Buck hadn't even actually said the words. No, he'd jumped right into the sharing a life part, cart before the horse as always when emotions were high.
The pizza rolls get tipped onto a plate and are immediately swimming in the heavy pour of ranch he'd prepared after he set the oven to preheat.
It cools them off a lot quicker than popping a hole in each seam and waiting.
It's been eight years since Buck has really even thought about that little trick.
When he opens his phone there's no response. No receipt. Just stark words waiting to be acknowledged.
I gave you my family, Tommy. You didn't even introduce me to your team at Harbor.
It's startling to realize after the fact. He doubts Tommy had meant it that way, but he'd basically spent six months being love bombed only to have the rug ripped right out from under his feet.
And yet. Months later and he still wants to know. Know why. Know how he could have done it, with tears in his eyes, with full awareness that it was already gonna hurt. Know Tommy - anything he'd part with, really, that wasn't something every random acquaintance also knew.
Cool, he'd been jealous of what Buck and the 118 had. (Buck had tried to give him that. Or at least he thought he had.)
Great, he didn't talk to his dad and Gerrard was a shitty captain. (Buck had spent an hour once explaining the first time he and his dad had spoken about Daniel without screaming at each other. Tommy had listened to the rants about Gerrard and offered physical comfort and a 'sounds like him' and Buck had just been so relieved to have an ally amongst the 'life is just like this sometimes' crowd that he'd never examined that.)
He was a Kinsey six who'd been engaged to the first woman Buck had ever really loved and they'd never dug deeper than that.
And Buck had apparently interpreted some of the shit he'd said that night wrong, but he still doesn't think it's fucking fair that Tommy can't trust him to know his own fucking mind well enough to know he hates sleeping around and he'd found the sort of connection he was looking for. He'd found it. Even with the lack of reciprocation. Even with the quiet behind Tommy's eyes that he'd never let Buck in on. Even with the -
His phone buzzes on the coffee table.
Can we talk?
Buck kinda hates those words in that order now. They'd been the start of something twice, but they'd always been leading to an end, if Tommy had his way.
Once every four weeks, apparently, Buck sends back and takes a vicious bite.
His phone chimes with an incoming call.
Buck stares at the name he hasn't had the stomach to remove the little heart from. Lets it ring through to voicemail and then shoves three more pizza rolls into his mouth and doesn't care if they burn off his taste buds.
His phone rings again.
"What?"
"I'm outside your building. Didn't want to make any assumptions that I'd be welcome without asking first."
Buck can feel his ribs cracking under the lurch of angry laughter. "What the hell?"
"Well the parking around here is miserable again, so I figure that's a sign."
"Are you driving right now?"
"Hands off. I'm on Bluetooth. So. Should I circle the building a fifth time or call it now and go home?"
Buck gets stuck on fifth time.
There's no way he hadn't been driving since at least before Buck sent that first text.
Buck sighs. There's absolutely no reason to be hopeful about that. For all he knows, Tommy has just decided dousing any residual flames is just another thing he has to do in person.
"My Jeep's in the shop. I'll buzz you into the garage."
Tommy's silent for a long, long moment. The quip comes anyway. "I keep telling you that thing is a money pit."
"I'm not really feeling the flirty banter, right now, Tommy, so maybe just let me know when you're at the gate."
He does. He hangs up the phone twenty seconds later with a plain "See you soon."
Buck doesn't have time to change. Fix his hair. Hide the sheet pan with half a dozen pizza rolls still laying on it, because he'd cooked way too many again.
(He could absolutely do one of these things but if Tommy's gonna throw this at him, he's getting every little slovenly habit Bucks's picked up since he walked out that door.)
The knock comes while Buck's shoving the last two rolls on his plate into his mouth.
He's still chewing with his mouth open to blow out the steam when he swings the door open, and Buck feels the first inklings of pleasure ripple through him at the sight of Tommy.
He looks like shit.
"You look like shit."
Tommy's brow ticks up. He stares pointedly at the glob of not-cheese that's going to absolutely ruin this sweatshirt.
"That tends to happen when you spend an hour in an armchair two sizes too small picking at trauma you've been hiding from your therapist for six years."
Buck opens the door wider. Holy crap. Tommy might legitimately be more fucked up than Buck.
Tommy's smile is strained. "Can I come in?"
Buck holds his gaze. His eyes are a little red. He's got a red spot along the side of his neck, like he's been rubbing at it. Buck only recognizes it as a comforting motion because he's replayed him doing it half a million times right before he ended things.
"Depends. Is this the last time you respond to my mean, rude, asshole texts for an hour after therapy rubs you raw?" Third Thursday Therapy, is apparently what does it. Buck is - god. He just wants -
"God, I hope not," Tommy says, and Buck takes a step to the side to let Tommy in.

It started as something small—just a slight sluggishness that you chalked up to long hours and a busy schedule. After all, everyone had days where they felt off, right? You didn’t think much of it at first. Maybe you hadn’t been drinking enough water or were pushing yourself too hard at the gym with the new workout routine you had taken up. But the fatigue lingered, heavier than usual. The exhaustion hit you mid-morning, the kind that left you wanting to crawl back into bed despite a full night’s sleep.
By day three, the headaches came. Sharp and persistent, not debilitating but enough to make focusing at work a struggle. You found yourself squinting at the screen, rubbing at your temples, wondering if your caffeine intake had anything to do with it. Coffee had always been your crutch, but suddenly it wasn’t helping. That in itself seemed odd—coffee usually gave you a little boost, but lately, it just left you feeling more nauseated than energized.
As you sat at your desk, half-listening to a Zoom meeting you were supposed to be engaged in, you absentmindedly reached for your phone. Flipping through your calendar, you skimmed the past couple of weeks, your thumb freezing as a realization crept in. You were late. Not by a lot—but enough to notice.
You glanced at the calendar again, frowning. Surely, it couldn’t be that. Your cycle was sometimes a day or two off. It wasn’t something to worry about. But still… you couldn’t shake the feeling, the quiet voice in the back of your mind that whispered that maybe this wasn’t just an irregular month.
No. You shook your head slightly, trying to clear the thought. You were on birth control. You and Jake had been careful. This was just your mind overreacting, connecting dots that weren’t there. But then a new thought slithered its way into your consciousness. A few weeks ago, you’d been sick—laid out with that stubborn cold. You’d gone to the doctor and gotten antibiotics.
Antibiotics…
Your breath caught in your throat as you suddenly remembered the doctor’s warning. Something about your birth control being less effective. At the time, you’d been too focused on just wanting to feel better, not giving much thought to how the medication could affect anything else.
The nausea from your coffee earlier that morning felt more like a bad omen now.
You leaned back in your chair, your heart thudding a little harder in your chest. No. It couldn’t be that. You were just being paranoid. But now, you couldn’t stop thinking about it. The headaches. The exhaustion. The nausea from foods that had never made you nauseous before. Your pulse quickened as you stared at the calendar, connecting the dots. Could it really be? The thought hung there, weighty and terrifying. What if you were…?
The panic bubbled up, threatening to spill over, but you pushed it down. You needed answers, not speculation. You couldn’t keep spiraling like this. There was only one way to know for sure.
Without a second thought as soon as you were clocked out at 5:01pm, you grabbed your keys and purse, practically bolting for the door. There was a CVS just a few blocks away. The sooner you took the test, the sooner you could put this fear to rest.
As you hurried toward your car, your thoughts raced alongside you, a thousand different scenarios flashing in your mind. What if it’s positive? What would Jake say? Would he leave?
The short drive back to your apartment felt like miles, the little white CVS bag clutched in your hand felt heavier than it should have been. Each minute only magnified the gnawing uncertainty in your chest.
The moment you stepped through your front door, the cool air of your small apartment hit you, but it did little to calm the heat of your rising anxiety. You shut the door behind you, leaning against it for a moment as if delaying what you knew you had to do would somehow make the looming possibility disappear.
Your heart raced as you walked to the bathroom, the test still tucked in its box as though keeping it sealed would keep the truth hidden a little longer. You set it on the counter, staring at your reflection in the mirror. You looked tired. Your skin was paler than usual, dark circles faintly visible under your eyes. Maybe you were just exhausted. You had been working on a project at work that had a pretty tight deadline. Maybe it was finally catching up to you. Maybe you were imagining all of this. Making up something that wasn't there.
With a shaky breath, you turned away from the mirror, reaching for the box. The sound of the packaging tearing open seemed too loud in the quiet apartment. You took one of the two pregnancy tests out and set it on the counter. Your hands trembled slightly as you read over the instructions, even though you didn’t really need them—you knew how this worked. Open the package. Pee on the stick. Wait. But reading them gave you a few more seconds before facing the truth.
You took a deep breath and finally did what needed to be done. Afterward, you placed the test down, careful not to look at it yet, and set the timer on your phone. You couldn’t bear to watch the lines form, so you forced yourself to sit down on the edge of the bathtub, pressing the heels of your palms into your knees, grounding yourself while you waited. Three minutes felt like an eternity.
Your mind raced, jumping between panicked thoughts and desperate rationalizations. There was no way. You and Jake had been careful, hadn’t you? You’d been taking birth control for years with no issues. And yet… there had been that one night, the night you felt better after being sick. You remembered how he had pulled you close, his warmth intoxicating after those few days of feeling terrible, his touch erasing the last of your discomfort. It had been one of those spontaneous moments, the kind you didn’t overthink. But now, it felt like maybe you should have.
The timer on your phone went off, snapping you out of your thoughts with a jarring sound. You inhaled sharply, your heart thudding hard against your chest as you reached for the test. With your hand trembling, you flipped it over, your breath catching in your throat.
Two pink lines stared back at you.
Your vision blurred as the world seemed to tilt for a moment. No. You blinked hard, clearing your eyes, then looked again.
Two pink lines.
You felt the floor drop out from under you, a heavy weight settling in your stomach. You set the test down, unable to keep looking at it, and hurriedly reached for the second test in the box. Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe you’d done something wrong. Hands shaking even more now, you repeated the process, this time pacing the bathroom as the second timer ticked down.
But deep down, you already knew.
The timer buzzed again, and with a knot tightening in your throat, you picked up the second test.
Two pink lines stared back at you, a confirmation you weren’t ready for.
You sat back down on the edge of the tub, the reality of it all sinking in, a cold rush of panic sweeping over you. This couldn’t be happening. How could this be happening?
Your thoughts went to Jake. How would he react? Would he freak out? Would he be upset? Would he leave? End things with you? Your chest tightened at the idea of telling him. You’d only been together a few months, and even though things were going well, you couldn’t help but feel that this would be too much, too soon.
You pressed your hands to your face, trying to steady your breathing, but your mind wouldn’t stop racing. Images of Jake flashed through your mind—his charming smile, the way he’d pull you into his arms without a second thought, the lighthearted banter that had drawn you to him. Your relationship was going strong. But was that enough? Were you enough? Would it be enough to survive something as life-changing as this?
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, and you quickly wiped them away. Crying wouldn’t help. You needed to think, to figure out what you were going to do next. But your thoughts were a jumbled mess of fear, uncertainty, and—oddly enough—a tiny flicker of something else. Something you didn’t want to admit. Hope.
You shook your head, trying to push the thought aside. This wasn’t how things were supposed to happen. You weren’t supposed to be feeling this lost, this scared, not when the rest of your life could be so drastically altered by a couple of pink lines.
But there was no denying it now. You were pregnant.
And you had no idea what to do next.
The next morning, the reality of what had happened still weighed heavily on you. It had settled in overnight, creeping into your mind every time you closed your eyes, so sleep was hardly an escape. You lay in bed longer than usual, staring at the ceiling, the events of yesterday playing on a loop. The two pink lines. Your pounding heart. The panic that had taken root in your chest, now a constant, gnawing ache.
But beyond the overwhelming fear of your situation was an even greater question: Jake. How were you going to tell him? Or… should you even tell him yet?
Your phone buzzed on the nightstand, startling you out of your thoughts. You didn’t have to check to know who it was. Jake had sent a text earlier in the morning—a simple “Good morning” with a smiley face—and you had left it unanswered.
Now, a second message appeared, more direct this time:
Jake: You okay? Haven’t heard from you.
You swallowed hard, staring at the screen. You didn’t know what to say to him, didn’t know how to talk to him without the weight of your secret making everything feel wrong. Your thumb hovered over the keyboard as your mind scrambled for something—anything—normal to respond with.
You: Yeah, sorry. Been busy.
You stared at the message for a moment, guilt settling in your chest as you hit send. You hated how distant the response felt, hated how you couldn’t bring yourself to say more. But what could you say?
The seconds stretched on before your phone buzzed again.
Jake: Busy? You trying to avoid me?? ;)
The words on the screen were playful, a light jab that might’ve made you smile any other day. But today, it only made you feel worse. He was catching on. Jake always had a knack for reading people, and now he was reading you, seeing right through your weak attempts to act normal.
You set your phone aside, deciding not to answer for now. You’d figure out what to tell him later. But for now, you just needed space. Space to think. Space to process. Space to make sense of the storm that had taken over your mind.
The day dragged on, and you kept your distance. Every time your phone buzzed with a message from him, your anxiety spiked, but you still couldn’t bring yourself to respond beyond brief, one-word replies. You were trapped in this bubble of avoidance, knowing full well that it wasn’t sustainable but unable to break free of it just yet.
Later that evening the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden hue over The Hard Deck as you stepped inside. The familiar sounds of laughter and clinking glasses filled the air, but they felt distant, almost muffled, as you made your way to the bar.
Jake was already there, leaning against the counter, chatting with a few of the guys. His laughter rang out, and your heart sank a little. How could you keep this secret from him when he looked so carefree?
“Hey, you made it!” Jake grinned, his blue eyes sparkling with excitement as he reached out to pull you closer. You forced a smile in return, feeling the weight of your secret settle heavily on your chest.
You settled onto a barstool beside him, ordering a Diet Coke, the bubbly drink a stark contrast to the cold beer he and the others were enjoying. As Penny placed your drink in front of you, Jake’s gaze narrowed slightly.
“Diet Coke?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. “You sure you’re not feeling under the weather? I thought you’d be grabbing a beer with me.”
“Just not in the mood for one tonight,” you replied, trying to sound casual.
“Come on, it’s Thursday night! You can’t tell me you don’t want to kick back with a cold one.” He leaned in closer, a playful grin on his face. “Don’t tell me you’re going soft on me.”
You chuckled lightly, but it felt forced. “I just have a lot on my mind with that project deadline tomorrow I told you about.”
“Just thinking about work, huh?” he asked, his voice low, laced with concern.
You nodded, a little too quickly, hoping he wouldn’t notice the tremor in your hand as you raised the glass to your lips.
Later that night after beating Rooster and Bob in games of pool Jake made his way back over to where you were still sitting on the bar stool.
“You’ve been awfully quiet tonight. You sure you’re okay?” He said as he put his hand on your back and began gently rubbing it.
“I’m fine,” you replied, a little too rehearsed, the words falling from your lips like an empty promise. “Just a lot on my mind with that deadline tomorrow.”
“Right.” He nodded, though the frown on his face told you he wasn’t entirely convinced. He wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer, but instead of the warmth you usually felt, you tensed.
You could feel him studying you, as if he were searching for something just beneath the surface. His touch, usually comforting, felt heavy now. “You’re not really laughing tonight,” he pointed out, the concern in his tone deepening. “I mean, that joke from Phoenix was hilarious, and you didn’t even crack a smile.”
“Sorry,” you mumbled. “Just a lot on my mind, that’s all.”
Jake tilted his head, his brow furrowing. “You sure that’s all? Because it feels like something else is going on.”
You swallowed hard, the truth lingering just beneath your tongue. He deserved to know, but the thought of revealing your pregnancy sent waves of panic coursing through you. Instead, you looked down at your drink, tracing your finger over the rim of the glass. “Really, Jake. I’m just... thinking about everything.”
“Okay, but you know I’m here for you, right?” His voice softened, and you could see the worry etched across his features. “If you need to talk, just say the word. I can take you home. We can go back to my place. Whatever you want.”
You nodded again, forcing a smile that felt more like a grimace. “I know. I appreciate it.”
The night wore on, and the laughter and camaraderie around you seemed to grow louder while you felt more isolated in your thoughts. As Jake tried to draw you back into the fold, the distance between you only seemed to widen. Each time he reached out, you instinctively pulled away, hiding the truth that threatened to spill from your lips.
You were trapped in a delicate dance, and with each passing moment, the weight of your secret pressed heavier against your chest. You took a deep breath, knowing that soon, you’d have to face him. But for now, all you could do was keep the facade intact, holding on to the last threads of normalcy before the storm would break.
When Jake asked you to meet him at The Hard Deck the following evening, your heart sank. He was trying, reaching out to spend time with you like always, but the idea of seeing him, pretending that everything was normal, felt impossible. Your chest tightened as you typed out your reply.
You: Can’t tonight. Sorry.
You could almost imagine the confusion on his face as he read your message. Normally, you would’ve jumped at the chance to meet up with him, to sit at the bar with him, sharing drinks and flirty comments. But not tonight. Not now.
You spent the evening in your apartment, pacing, thinking. The truth was suffocating you, and the longer you put off telling him, the worse it became. But fear gripped you every time you thought about saying the words out loud. What if this changed everything? What if Jake didn’t want this? What if he… walked away?
The knot in your stomach twisted tighter at the thought. You tried to shake it off, tried to reassure yourself that you were overthinking things, but the fear wouldn’t let go.
You didn’t know Jake’s thoughts on kids, on the future, on anything beyond the easy, carefree nature of your fairly new relationship. And now, this could upend everything.
When your phone buzzed again later that night, you ignored it. You couldn’t deal with it. Couldn't deal with him. Not yet.
But avoiding Jake was harder than you expected.
The next evening, as you sat curled up on the couch, scrolling mindlessly through your phone, you heard a knock on your door. Your heart skipped a beat. For a moment, you froze, staring blankly at the door. Who would be at your door right now?
Another knock. Louder this time.
Your pulse quickened as you pushed yourself up from the couch and made your way toward the door. You peered through the peephole, and your stomach dropped.
It was Jake.
You hesitated, every muscle in your body suddenly tense. He had come to see you. Maybe he was worried. Or maybe he was just tired of your evasiveness. You couldn’t tell. All you knew was that he was here, standing on the other side of your door, and you had to face him.
With a shaky breath, you unlocked the door and slowly opened it. There he was, standing in the hallway, his hands tucked in his jacket pockets, his usual easygoing smile playing on his lips. But there was something in his eyes—something you couldn’t quite read.
“Hey,” he said, looking up to meet your eyes.
He leaned in slightly as if to kiss you. Instinctively, you took a small step back, the distance between you immediately noticeable.
Jake’s smile faltered.
“What’s going on?” he asked, his voice soft but laced with concern. He tilted his head, studying your face. “You’ve been avoiding me for days. Didn’t even want to meet me at the Hard Deck tonight. That’s not like you.”
You swallowed hard, unable to meet his gaze. “I’ve just… been busy,” you muttered, knowing how weak it sounded.
“Busy. Right. Well, your deadline at work was up at 4:59, so what's your excuse now?” Jake repeated, his brows furrowing in confusion. “Are you avoiding me? Is something wrong?”
Your chest tightened as he pushed, his words cutting through your thin layer of avoidance. He wasn’t letting this go. And you didn’t know how to handle it.
“I’m fine,” you said quickly, avoiding eye contact. “It’s nothing.”
Jake stepped closer, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied you. “You sure about that?” His voice was firmer now, the playful edge gone. “Because this isn’t you. You've barely texted me all week. Then you acted like you were trying to avoid me like the plague last night at the bar. You blew me off tonight, and now… what? You’re acting like you don’t even want me here?” He paused and just looked at you, shaking his head. "Do you want me here? Do you want me to leave?"
The guilt hit you like a tidal wave, and you could feel your emotions starting to bubble to the surface. You tried to swallow it down, to push the panic aside, but it was too much. The pressure was too much.
“Jake, I—” You stopped, biting your lip as your vision blurred with tears you hadn’t realized were forming. “I just… I don’t know how to—”
He took a step forward, his voice softening again. “Hey, hey. It’s okay. It's just...you're scaring me, babe. You're making me think you're trying to hide something. Just talk to me. Whatever it is, we can figure it out. But don’t shut me out like this. ”
You blinked, fighting back the tears. You wanted to believe him. You wanted to tell him. But fear kept your throat tight, the words trapped inside.
He reached for your hand, his touch gentle, and grounding, but even that felt too much right now.
You pulled away, stepping back toward the living room.
“I… I don’t know if I can do this right now,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
Jake frowned, confused. “What do you mean? Can’t do what?”
You knew you couldn’t avoid the truth much longer.
“Jake, I’m pregnant.” you blurted out, your voice breaking. The words spilled out before you could stop them.
The room went completely still. For a moment, Jake didn’t react, his expression frozen in surprise as if he hadn’t quite processed what you had just said.
You swallowed hard, your heart pounding in your ears. “I… I took a test a few days ago. It was positive.” The words felt heavy, hanging in the air between you, and you could barely look at him. “I didn’t know how to tell you… I didn’t even know how to deal with it myself.”
The silence stretched on, thick and suffocating, as Jake stood there, his gaze locked on you. You could see the shock in his eyes, the way his mind seemed to be working through what you had just revealed. Your stomach twisted in knots, the fear bubbling up again. You had no idea how he was going to react. No idea what this meant for the two of you.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Jake exhaled, running a hand through his hair as he stepped back, processing. His face was unreadable, and the silence between you became unbearable.
“I… I didn’t see that coming,” he said finally, his voice low and rough around the edges.
You swallowed hard, forcing yourself to look at him. “Neither did I,” you whispered, your throat tight. “I’ve been freaking out, Jake. I didn’t know how to handle this. I didn’t know if I should tell you, or if you even—”
He held up a hand, stopping you mid-sentence. “Wait… did you think I wouldn’t want to know? Were you thinking about not telling me?”
His tone wasn’t angry, but it was laced with disbelief, and you realized what you had implied. Your heart clenched as you met his gaze, seeing the hurt in his eyes.
“I didn’t know what to think,” you admitted, your voice shaking as tears started to form in your eyes. “I was scared, Jake. I still am. I don’t know what this means for us, or for anything.”
Jake took a deep breath, his eyes softening as he stepped toward you. His hand reached out, gently taking yours, his touch warm and steady. “Baby, I get that this is… huge. It’s not something either of us expected. But I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
His words sent a wave of relief washing over you, but the fear was still there, lingering at the edges. You had been so caught up in your panic that you hadn’t allowed yourself to hope for this—that Jake wouldn’t run, that he wouldn’t leave you to handle this alone.
“Are you sure?” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “Because I don’t even know if I’m ready for this.”
Jake squeezed your hand gently, his eyes never leaving yours. “I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know what the future holds, and yeah, this is scary as hell. But we’ll figure it out. Together.”
The weight of his words hit you like a tidal wave, and for the first time in days, you felt a sliver of hope break through the fear. You weren’t alone in this. Jake wasn’t going to leave.
The tears that had welled up in your eyes finally broke free and started to roll down your cheeks as you looked at him, the emotion finally overwhelming you.
“I was so scared,” you whispered, your voice trembling. “I didn’t know if you’d want this. If you’d want me.”
Jake’s expression softened even further, and without a word, he pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly. You buried your face in his chest, your tears soaking into his shirt as the reality of everything finally hit you. But this time, it didn’t feel as crushing. With Jake’s arms around you, it felt just a little bit lighter.
“This isn't your fault, baby. We both made this baby. I’m not going anywhere,” he murmured into your hair, his voice steady. “We’re in this together.”
You stayed like that for a long time, wrapped in his embrace, the fear still there but no longer as suffocating. With Jake by your side, you knew you could face whatever came next.
For the first time since seeing those two pink lines, you allowed yourself to believe that everything might just be okay.

Joining the Avengers was a challenge. It wasn’t the constant work outs and strict diet to keep you healthy and strong, it wasn’t even the danger or the threats to your life, even the annoying attempts of the media to follow you and snap pictures of you didn’t bother you that much. They all got buried by the government before they saw the light of day anyway. It was the people. Not that you weren’t grateful to them. They had saved your life after all. Gave you a purpose in life. But… The Avengers were a tough group to get to know and even tougher to live with sometimes. Of course, some preferred having their own homes, like Clint and his family, or the notorious Captain Marvel, that didn’t even live on Earth, and just as expected, those that did live in the tower had their own floors, rooms, offices, so you didn’t even meet them that much, but that just made it even harder to really connect. That’s why Steve insisted on team building activities, training together, even attending Tony’s stupid parties, all in the name of bonding. The man meant well and he really had a big heart, but he just couldn’t see that some of the Avengers had very little in common.
The thing is… You were born a witch. Not from a powerful clan, or with deeply rooted ancestry, and you probably would have stayed that way, had you not made a terrible mistake. Truly, you were just angry at the time. Barely a teenager, who thought she had all the answers. You were arguing with your mother about something, not that you could even remember what for. It was probably so stupid. But you both lost your temper, screaming at each other, until she had sent you to your room. She thought she was de-escalating the situation, giving you both time to calm down. What she didn’t know is that you had been through her collection of spell books and brought them all to your room. So when you slammed the door behind you, stupidly, unthinkingly, you grabbed the books. You weren’t sure what kind of spell you were hoping to find. Just something to make all the emotions inside you stop raging. But you found an absorption spell instead. In your head, you thought that if you just learned this spell and then performed it, you’ll search through the books much faster and then you’d able to do… What? God, you had no idea. Thinking back now, that was such a ridiculous thing to do. But you learned the spell, grabbed the candles you had in your drawer, surrounded yourself with all the books you had taken and just started the chant, hands touching the pages of the books and starting to feel their content seeping into your skin. It stung! That’s what you remember most. The feeling of that black ink seeping into your skin, as if splitting it open to make its way inside, clawing its way in your veins. It hurt so bad, but it wouldn’t stop. You had said the words, and now the spell was doing its work, emptying the pages of the books around you. You tried to pull your hands away, struggled to get it to stop, but it wouldn’t. Every painful second felt like hours. The panic inside you was rising, watching the inky blotches making their way up your arms, crawling like black maggots under your skin, up your shoulders and neck… You were so scared, heart pumping wildly in your chest as you watched it happen, begging for it to finally stop.
But with the end of the spell, you found yourself facing a greater torment. You had taken too much, too fast for your brain to fully comprehend. All the words swirled in your head like a hurricane, making it impossible to distinguish your own thoughts. You tried to calm down, tried to put those racing thoughts in order, trying to meditate, just like your mother had thought you, but it was useless. It wouldn’t stop. In the end, it was your screams that attracted your mother to your room, panicked and scared, just as you were, trying to get you to tell her what you had done, but you couldn’t even put a sentence in order. Your brain was so scrambled, growing more incoherent by the second. Maybe that’s when you passed out? You couldn’t tell. You had very little recollections from that time. The next days were a blur. You don’t remember much. Just your room. Your mother told you that you were consumed by madness. Spewing lines from spells, incoherent and jumbled together. But sometimes you would get one right. She’d had to confine you to your room and bind you with runes, so you wouldn’t start casting without even knowing it. She told you it took you two weeks, before you started to come back to yourself. It was a miracle you even managed it. Some witches never recovered from such a thing. By the time you came back to your school, there were so many rumours about you, people whispering behind your back. You were changed. Thinner, more withdrawn, trying to keep to yourself. But kids were cruel and curious. They teased you, tried to get you to admit why you were missing from school all this time, attacking you, when you tried to ignore them. You should have known it was inevitable that you snapped and did something you’d regret.
It was just before summer break, you thought you had gotten through the worst of it, that you had your emotions under control, practicing every day, just so you could keep all the magic from spilling out. Many people didn’t know, but grimoires weren’t just books full of spells. Each spell, written within the pages was also a tiny bit of magic, leaving its imprint and taking root. You hadn’t just absorbed the knowledge, but the magic too. It was more than you’d ever felt, more than you knew how to control, so you practiced relentlessly. But when pushed, it bubbled to the surface. Fucking Madeleine Dupont, daughter of the Patric Dupont – owner of the biggest, most profitable manufacturing business in town, was obnoxious, spoiled, annoying and with a mean streak wider than her daddy’s newly acquired 23 acres of land for their grand mansion. The girl loved to pick on everyone, but recently, she had set her sights on you and in that fateful day, she and her friends cornered you into an empty classroom, taking drugs out of their pockets and trying to get you to take them. When “gentle” persuasion failed, one of them grabbed you, holding you by the hair and trying to force your face onto a desk, where they had spilled some powder. You didn’t even know what it is. But they started to overpower you, and the tears spilling down your cheeks as you tried to tell them that you didn’t want this, that you needed them to stop, only added to their exhilaration.
They eventually pinned you down, laughing menacingly as they tried to get you to breathe it in and you lost control, pushing them back with your magic, a wave of energy blasting through the whole room, making desks and chairs fly to the ground, just like the girls had done. You tried to reign yourself in, to stop the emotions from taking over, but you were mumbling spells already. You remember just a blast. You remember waking up in a cell, body strapped to a small hospital bed, being pumped full of something. And the woman. She was your “handler” and on most days, the only person you saw or spoke with. She told you what happened. You’d killed those girls. Part of the building collapsed because of what you had done and the rubble crushed them. You must have protected yourself on instinct. Survived it somehow. They were giving you medication, making sure you heal properly. And then your training could begin. They were HYDRA. And they had a special interest in people like you. They made it clear that they weren’t just your supposed saviours, but also your captors. They weren’t going to just let you leave their facility. Instead, they aimed to train you. You were one of the lucky ones. You learned that after you were rescued from that HYDRA base. They never tortured you physically. Instead, they decided that they could break your mind, already weakened by what you’d done to yourself. They aimed to convert you. Half your training was spells and magic, endurance, strength… The other part… That was indoctrination. And they used everything they knew about you just to do it. When you refused to say the right things, they withheld food, when you refused to train, they withheld water… When that didn’t work, they would use threats. Your mother. They weren’t above hurting her to make you behave. They weren’t above killing her, if you didn’t do what you’re told.
You often held out hope that she was looking for you. That she’d find you and save you. But she didn’t have half as much power as you did. And you couldn’t escape them. What luck would she have? Eventually, your only hope of escape was to save yourself and after a few failed attempts, you formed a plan. You did as you were told, said what they needed to hear and you trained. You trained every waking moment, making sure your body and mind would be strong enough to take on all the magic you invited into yourself. That absorption spell? You used it more often, although, you limited the amount of information this time. It always hurt, the headaches after each use were monstrous. But it was all worth it. You were going to get yourself out of there one day. Even if you had to take down the whole base to do it. But it was the Avengers who took it down and helped you out of there. They reunited you with your mother, your family, and after some time, they also offered you a job. A calling. To help people. Those who weren’t as fortunate as you. Those in need. And you said yes. That’s how you ended up in the Avengers tower. Despite the people, it was a lonely place. Few understood what you had been though, fewer still cared for what it had done to you. But you couldn’t blame them. They all had their own lives, their own problems to deal with, their own personal pain to wallow in. Natasha understood. She knew what being a prisoner was like, what it felt like to be forced to do things just to survive. Steve empathised. His big heart and his puppy dog eyes were unbelievably charming and he won you over easily. Clint brought normalcy to everyone’s lives. But most of the others were hard to relate to. Tony meant well, but he had a big mouth and he loved putting his foot in it. Bruce was always in his lab. Vision was kind, but he was also marked by the characteristics of his origin and hard to make a connection with. Thor… Where do you even start with Thor? But there was also Wanda.
She had joined before you, her story similar to yours, yet so different, marked by loss and heartache. She was a kindred spirit and easily a friend. She was a little older than you, her eyeliner thick, her black nail polish often chipped, her hair in a tight ponytail as she walked around the compound and she always smiled when she saw you. As the months passed, the two of you were inseparable, spending every waking moment together. You were one of the two people who wasn’t scared that she’d read your mind, who trusted her good intentions and good heart completely. The other was Vision. They had a bond, an understanding that you didn’t know how to share in. But you were happy that she had him in her corner, because the other Avengers always looked at her suspiciously, or avoided her and you never knew why. Wanda was a sweetheart. Her favorite way to watch sitcoms was with her cuddled up into your side, your fingers playing with her silky hair, that she always let down, when it was just the two of you in the room. And sure, she was a little emo, but you found that adorable. Her smile would only widen, when you’d use one of your many pet names for her and she would blush, when you complimented her cooking. And you used those all the time, because, the thing is, you were in love with her. You were desperately in love with Wanda Maximoff and you were ready to do just about anything to have her smile at you or shower you with her affection. Something she did practically all the time anyway. If the woman wasn’t also fiercely protective and an extremely powerful witch, you’d say she’s a puppy. But none of the others ever agreed, when you said so. They would cower, when she stepped into the room, avoid her eyes, when they needed to speak to her, they would step out of training rooms, when she walked in. You found it baffling. And somehow the treatment extended to you as well. The closer you got to her, the more they kept their distance.
Gone were the days when they would tease you playfully, when they would give you pointers on your techniques, when they would approach you for small gatherings that didn’t involve the whole team and you never knew why. Until today. You walked in the common room, only to find most of the team already there and you greeted them, before you made your way to the adjacent kitchen, listening to their banter as you made breakfast for yourself and Wanda. It was the dynamic you were used to and you were ready to join them, holding the bowls of food in your hands, when you noticed that the noise suddenly died down, replaced by tense silence. “Wanda.” Natasha greeted with a nod. “Natasha.” The younger woman acknowledged, stepping further into the room and scanning it for something. Not that she ever told them what she needs. She looked pissed. Her aura was dark and almost menacing, her shoulders squared, like she was ready for a fight, making everyone on edge and you couldn’t figure out why. “Hi, sweetheart!” You decide to finally greet her, showing yourself from behind the wall you had been standing, while you observed all this. “Sweetheart?” Tony lifted an eyebrow, an amused smile creeping up his lips. Wanda only threw him a glare, but she accepted your hug happily, taking you into her arms and when you pulled away, she only let you turn into her hold, facing the group, while her hands stayed firmly around you. “Let’s go have breakfast in my room.” She suggested in your ear, ready to practically drag you out of there. “Why not join all of us for breakfast?” Steve raised his voice, gesturing to the big table he was already sitting at. “That’d be nice.” You nodded, before Wanda had any chance to refuse. “Come on, Wands, I already fixed you a bowl.” You told her. “Yes, Wands, we haven’t seen you in ages.” Tony agrees, emphasising the nickname you had used.
Feeling like she didn’t have much of a choice, Wanda agreed, sitting next to you and pulling your chair practically into her side, so she’d have you as close to her as she could, while she ate quietly. But the team felt like they had stumbled onto something. They had felt the shift in mood within her, as soon as she saw you and they weren’t going to let it go so easily. At first they tried their playful banter on her, asking her about her day, about her interests, about her training, just anything to see a reaction, but none actually came. It was only when you spoke that she would light up. She would smile, when she listened to you, when she forgot that it wasn’t just the two of you in the room. But it was the little blush that showed on her cheeks, when you called her “darling” that first sparked an idea within them. “Hey, Y/N, I hear you tried your hand against Cap here.” Bucky stared off, attracting your attention. “Tried being the key word. Hand to hand I don’t stand a chance, but with a little magic…” You trailed off, shrugging. “Who knows…” “Yeah?” His smile widens. “Well, if you’re looking for a challenge, join me for a spar this afternoon.” He invited. “She’s training with me this afternoon.” Wanda practically growled, looking up from her bowl for just a second, to stare down Bucky. Her glare was murderous. “That’s too bad, I was hoping for a little magic.” The man said, obviously bating Wanda. “Then perhaps you should train with me. I have magic.” Wanda snarled, summoning a ball of energy between her fingers for a moment, just to get her point across and luckily, the man was smart enough to back off. “Well, if you’re busy training, perhaps I can finally take dear Y/N to get a proper costume. The two of you can’t keep borrowing my leather jackets and pretend that it’s a real suit.” Natasha interjected. “What do you say dear?” She asked, her voice dropping an octave. “I already have some ideas in mind. You can try them on for me.” She suggested, noting the way Wanda’s knuckles turned white around her spoon. “And I’m sure Tony can make some improvements.” “Oh yeah.” The man chimed in, happy to take his own turn teasing Wanda. “I’ll have to get your measurements of course. To make sure it fits perfectly.” He says casually, but the idea of it makes Wanda’s blood boil. “She’s busy today.” Wanda retorts, before you even get a chance to open your mouth and you find yourself surprised to see her so tense. “Tomorrow perhaps.” Tony shrugs, taking on Wanda’s glare. “I’ll make time for her.” He adds. “She’s mine.” Wanda snaps, raising from her seat and balling her fists. “What was that?” Tony pretends not to hear her, smirking at the pissed off witch. “I said, she’s mine.” Wanda grits out, turning to you, ready to drag you out of the room.
It’s then that she realizes what she had said. That you were right there next to her, looking at her with a mixture of disbelief and hopefulness. The thing is, Wanda was desperately in love with you too. She was also, as the team quickly started to realize, extremely possessive, and she wasn’t going to watch every man and woman in the room flirt with you. The only problem was that she hadn’t told you all that. Scared to ruin your friendship and loose you for good, she opted for hiding her feelings, which only intensified her jealousy. She hadn’t staked her claim on you and it made her scared that someone else might. So every time you weren’t with her, she’d be on edge, lurking in corners, sending people glares whenever they spoke to you, hoping to keep them away until she could finally tell you how she felt. Such behaviour had earned her a reputation in the Tower as grumpy, and since everyone knew how dangerous she could be, they tried to stay away. Now, however, cornered and taken by surprise, she had let it slip. And you were right next to her, so it was impossible that you didn’t hear her earlier words. “Y/N…” She stutters, taken aback. “I didn’t mean… I…” She stumbled over her words. And the audience didn’t help in the slightest. She felt crowded. Tony’s smug smirk seemed to taunt her, Bucky and Steave sharing a knowing giggle between them, Natasha, who somehow looked unphased and simply amused at the whole scene, it was all overwhelming. And then, there was you. Shocked at what you’d heard and looking at her in disbelief. God, she needed to get out of there… Before she had a chance to say much else, before she could think it all through, she stormed out. She didn’t even know how she ended up in the hallway, her legs carrying her on their own, when she heard your voice. “Wanda!” You were calling out her name, jogging slightly to catch up to her. “Wanda, please wait!” You called out again, seemingly not for the first time. “Please, we should talk about this.” You said, watching her stop, so she could wait for you. “I’m so sorry, Y/N…” She squeezed her eyes shut. “I had to get out of there.” She tried to say, her voice shaking a little with all the emotions that were raging inside her. “It’s ok. I understand.” You nodded, taking her hand, so you could help her feel more grounded.
The small touch between you, just the feeling of your hand in hers felt electrifying and she easily took the other one as well, pulling you close, until she could have you in her arms, securing you in a tight embrace and making you look up at her. “You don’t understand.” She said, hands shaking. “I’m so in love with you. I have been for months now. And I was so scared to tell you, so scared of loosing you, that I just…” She paused, struggling to find the right words. “And the way they were talking to you, the way they all looked at you… I can’t stand the thought of anyone else having you. I want you to be mine. I want you all to myself. I want to fall asleep next to you and wake up with you in my arms, I want to spend every day showing you that I love you. I want… You!” She confessed, her arms tightening around you, as if you’d escape her grasp somehow. “Oh, Wanda…” You whispered, a gentle smile farming on your lips as you watched her eyes sparkle. “I’ve been in love with you too. And I didn’t know how to tell you…” You said, trying to swallow the lump in your throat. The moment felt heavy, thick with emotions as you both stood frozen in time, eyes glued to the other, when suddenly a voice, startled you both. “Maximoff, kiss the girl already!” Tony said smugly, followed by cheers from the people around him. Were they watching you on the hallway cameras this whole time? Not that you had time to think about that, when Wanda was leaning closer, her eyes flashing red, before she shortened the distance between you both, until she was only a breath away. Her features were so different now, she was smiling as she held you, biting her lips, eyes full of adoration and longing.
When she finally placed her lips on yours, a gentle caress at first, it felt like you were in heaven. You had wished for this moment for so long, imagined it every night, before you fell asleep, dreamt of it and longed for it and it was finally happening and you just couldn’t get enough. When she felt your eager lips on hers, Wanda didn’t hesitate to deepen the kiss, tongue darting out, asking for permission to taste you further and mingling with yours, once you allowed her access. It was only when she pushed you against the nearest wall, trapping your body with hers, that you finally paused. “We’re giving everyone a show.” You reminded her, head pointing to the camera in the corner. “Never.” Wanda smirked, her magic flashing once more, to show you that she had disabled the feed, before you even kissed. “Only I’m allowed to see you like this. I would never share you with anyone else.” She said with a note of possessiveness that you were growing to love, the more you saw it. She kissed you again. And then again, greedy hands squeezing your hips. She could never get enough of you. She felt drunk on you and only reluctantly pulled away when you both needed to breathe. “We should get back.” You said reluctantly. “Let’s go to my room instead. We’ll take it slow. We don’t have to do anything. I just want you all to myself.” She suggested. “I don’t want to share you.” “Wait… Is that why everyone thinks you’re so grumpy?” You suddenly realized, remembering countless times, when Wanda has wanted your undivided attention, skipping events and avoiding people. She didn’t say anything, but at this point you didn’t need her to. “We should show them how wrong they are. You’re amazing and warm and loving and sweet and I want everyone to know that.” You told her honestly. “But we’ll go to my room after?” She held you firmly, refusing to let you go just yet. “Yes, we’ll go to your room after.” You nodded happily. “I’ll even let you pick what we’re watching.” You added teasingly. Wanda smiled, pulling away just enough to let you straighten yourself and she held your hand, letting you guide her back to the common room, watching your hips sway seductively. It was sweet, she thought, that you believed she’d be wasting her time with sitcoms, when she could finally have you the way she’s wanted you for so long… _______________________________________________________ Hi, dear anon. I hope that you are happy with the story you got for your request! <3

hii i’m such a fan of your work would you please do a proffesor eddie x reader smut? but eddie is a teacher that teaches 1 grade higher than the grade reader is learning in thank you !! (+aftercare please 😽💗 )
Hi, lovely! Thank you so much!
cw: MDNI (18+) oral (both f and m receiving), fingering, anal, age gap (Eddie is 35 and reader is 20) student/teacher dynamic
You stand outside Professor Munson’s office as you wait for him to answer the door. This isn't your first tutoring session with him but you're more than excited to see him. Maybe it's because you find him attractive, but it's mostly because ever since that one very vivid dream you had about him bending you over his desk, you haven't been able to think straight.
You were really looking forward to his class in the beginning because you had always admired him as a professor. He had been so highly praised throughout the university and you had actually been a huge fan of all the articles he'd written and you were even embarrassed to admit that you had a signed copy of his book in your desk drawer.
Professor Munson's class, English Literature of the 20th century, was usually for juniors and seniors who needed a little kick or maybe some extra credit, but you had convinced your advisor to help you get into his summer class to give you an extra boost, and somehow, it had worked. But you had been struggling to keep up, the work load piling up on you.
So you weren't surprised when the professor himself offered to tutor you on the weekends, and because you were eager to get your grade up and spend a few extra hours every week with him, you agreed. It was a win-win in your eyes.
You unbutton the top three buttons of your cardigan as you wait, making sure that your cleavage is fully visible before pulling your lip gloss and compact mirror from your backpack, quickly applying an extra layer so they're prepped if you ended up doing things other than studying.
You toss your things into your bag as the door opens and you put on a grin as you take the man in. His outfits are always so casual and you like that about him. He's always dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. Sometimes his leather jacket will make an appearance, but you know that's only when he rides his motorcycle. Seeing the thing draped over the back of his chair told you that he had ridden it this morning.
You try not to stare for too long as you enter the office, him closing the door behind you as you sit in the chair across from his desk, pulling your things out of your backpack that you've set on the floor in front of you.
This isn't how it's supposed to go. If you had it your way, you would have been sat on the desk with him between your legs as he kisses you stupid, the grown out stubble of his beard scraping against your chin as he licked into your mouth-
"Y/n?" He asks, pulling you out of your dirty fantasy and you shake your head, looking up to see that he's right in front of you. "Are you alright?" He asks as his hand hesitantly rests on your shoulder, his warm, brown eyes boring into yours.
Eddie's worried about you, trying to come off like a concerned teacher, but if he's being honest, he's attracted to you. He knows he shouldn't be, but he can't help but think about how pretty you are.
You're his student and he knows that he could get fired if it was found out that anything happened between the two of you, but goddamn does he want to lay you over his desk and have his way with you.
"I'm fine, Mr.-I mean, Eddie," you correct yourself as you remember that he likes his students to call him by his first name. And to you, it just seems right. God, what you would give to moan his name over and over as his fat cock pounded into you.
"Are you sure?" He asks as his hand slowly reaches up and caresses your jaw, rubbing his thumb along it back and forth. You hum as you lean into his touch, eyes fluttering closed as you wonder what his fingers would feel like between your legs. That is why you wore skirt, isn’t it?
But then you realize what you’re doing and your eyes open wide, sitting up straighter in the chair. Trying your best to wipe your dirty thoughts from your mind even though you’re already wet beyond believe and it’s getting harder to hide.
So you cross your legs and Eddie backs off, leaning against the desk to create some distance between the two of you. You have no idea that his mind is all spinning with the most filthy thoughts that are making him dizzy.
He moves to sit behind his desk just so you won’t see the bulge in his pants as his thoughts get even worse as time progresses. And when you get up out of your chair and bend over to grab your books from your backpack, he gets a great view of your panties, thinking about how much he wants to smack your ass while he bends you over the desk, telling you what a good little whore you are as he fucks you from behind, deep and hard, hearing your cries from where your face is pinned to the desk.
He's never felt this way about any of his students, but there's something about you that's different. Mostly because you're so forward about your attraction to him. You have your cleavage on full display for god's sake. That had to mean something.
And seeing your glossed lips smiling at him as you sit back in his chair makes him so glad you can't see his crotch. He can see you crawling under his desk, unzipping his pants and pulling them down along with his underwear his belt clinking as it hits the toe of his boots. He can practically feel your pretty lips wrapping around his cock as you take him into his mouth, looking down and seeing your cheeks hallow as you suck him off, giving him the best head of his life right there in his office.
Eddie has to hold back from moaning right there as his fantasy plays out so vividly in his head. He knows it’s wrong because you’re his student, but he can’t help it. You’re beautiful and smart and kind and he wants you more than he can comprehend.
You can feel his gaze on you as you scribble something in your notebook as you wait for him to begin the session and look up at him through your lashes, seeing how he's looking at you like he wants to swallow you whole and you're more than willing to tell him that he do whatever he wants to you.
His eyes are dark and yours are filling with lust. There's no way either you can focus on the session until you get your urges out of your systems and you're perfectly fine with that, what you both had been there for initially no longer on your mind.
Before you can stop yourselves, you're out of your chairs, rounding the desk into you meet on the side. Eddie makes the first move, pulling you into his arms as he presses his lips to yours with so much force, his nose digging into your cheek as he breathes heavily.
Your lips moves together in sync as you grab fistfuls of his shirt, his hands traveling down your body and up your skirt, giving your ass a squeeze, causing you gasp into his mouth. He takes your mouth opening as an invitation to slide his tongue into your mouth as he turns you around, lifting you up to sit on the edge of desk.
You spread your legs and he stands between them as he kisses his way down your neck, one of his hands pinned to the desk while his other one slides into your underwear, moving back and forth along your slit.
“Fuck,” he whines. “If I had known you were this wet I would have done this a long time ago.” He begins to suck on your neck as his fingers find his way into your cunt pumping in and out and all that can be heard in his quiet office are the noises coming from your mouth and the squelching of your sopping wet pussy as his fingers fuck you.
“Oh my god,” you moan, your palms pressing against the desk, slowly sliding backwards, pushing the objects that are in their way backwards, falling off the edge, but neither of you seem to care.
Eddie’s soft lips suck on your neck as fingers work your pussy, pulling moan after moan from you, your eyes shutting tight as you let him scandalize you, sucking in a breath as his teeth glide along your skin, his fingers curving as you clench around them, already reaching your orgasm. Eddie pulls away just in time to see you scream his name and he’s getting even more hard at the sound of it, the whole thing sounding even better than he had imagined.
“That’s right,” he says, his voice raspy. “Just like that, pretty girl. Look so pretty when you come for me.”
His fingers continue to pump in and out, in and out as he tries to get you to come again. Your eyes are rolling into the back of your head and he’s feeling cocky that he can make you feel so much just from his fingers.
You come one more time and he removes his fingers out of you as he lets you come down from your orgasm, liking all of the traces of your slick, moaning at how absolutely delicious you taste, closing his eyes as he savors the flavor of you.
His eyes open once he’s done and he sees you now laying on his desk, splayed out for him like an all you can eat buffet and he’s starving. Before he can stop himself, he’s on his knees, pulling you forward so his head is underneath your skirt. His teeth find the waistband of your panties and he pulls them down to your thighs before finishing the job with his hand.
He then balls them in his fist before he rises to his feet. You watch him lean over you, bringing his hand up to your chin, pushing your mouth open.
“Open wide,” he says, his voice nothing but authoritative and you can’t help but feel more wet as he tells you what to do in a non classroom setting.
You open your mouth and watch him stuff it with you underwear, pushing it so far inside that you’re gagging on it already.
“That’s a good girl,” he coos. “Gotta keep that pretty mouth shut, hm? Jesus, hon, you’re already drooling,” he wipes the spit away from your chin with the pad of his thumb.
His lips move down to your neck again, migrating towards your chest as his finger pulling at your cardigan, another gasp falling from your lips as it's ripped open, multiple buttons flying across the room.
"Hope you didn't have too much attachment to that," he says as his lips ghost over the top of one of your tits.
You shake your head even though he can't see you, his head moving lower as he licks and suck on on your bare skin, your hands gripping onto each side of the desk for dear life.
He kisses the spot between your belly button and the waist band of your skirt before unzipping the side, sliding it down your legs until it falls to the floor, spreading your legs to get a good look at your cunt.
"God, so needy for me, hm?" He chuckles as he gets down on his knees once again. "You're dripping, but don't worry, daddy's gonna clean you up."
You nod eagerly, wanting, needing his face between your thighs. It's only right that he cleans up the mess he's created. Your legs are draped over his shoulder and he dives in, notice how you twitch when his nose brushes your cunt.
His mouth is on your clit in an instant suckling on it like he's getting paid to do so, his tongue moving back and forth slowly as your hands thread through his hair, giving it a yank as your muffled moans fill the room.
"That's right," he pulls away from you just enough to where you can hear him speak. "Moan like the little whore I know you are." And then his face is back into your cunt, his mouth on your slit, all teeth and tongue and lips as his teeth slide along the skin harshly, his fingers digging into your thighs that are tightening around his head as you moan again and again, your heels digging into his back as yours arches off of the desk, pulling onto his hair with so much force that it flies back, his mouth no longer on you.
"Take is easy. hon," he chuckles, removing your hands from his hair before he's at it again. They grasp onto the desk, your nails digging into the wood, surely making claw marks, but you're sure that he doesn't care, definitely wanting to have a physical reminder to remind him of what's happening when you leave.
His pushing his tongue inside you and it fucks your cunt hard and fast, an orgasm rolling through you as he does so, the loudest moan you can muster with your panties in your mouth flies out of it and Eddie keeps it up, picking up his pace as his tongue reaches just the right spot as you're practically crying.
And that's when he removes himself from you, rising from his feet, letting you come down from your high as pulls your underwear from your mouth and tosses it to the side, watching your reaction as he unbuckles his belt, the only sound that can be heard is it hitting the floor as he removes his jeans and underwear, his massive cock coming into view, the thing already leaking with cum.
"Tun over," he commands and you do so, hopping off the desk then leaning over the front of it, wiggling your bare ass in a teasing manner. Eddie is behind you in a flash, pressing his hard cock against your ass before rubbing his cum over it to lube it up. He then pushes down onto the desk, pressing your face into it, making sure your face stays there before he pounds into you, you moans sounding heavenly as you respond to his every move.
Your hands are gripping the edge of the desk again as his fingers are digging into your hips so roughly as he fucks into from behind you, fitting as much of his cock as you can take as you beg and beg for more. The whole thing is filthy. It's absolutely delicious.
"That's it. Just like that. Take me like the whore I know you are." He sinks further inside and you clench around him, your eyes watering as he does so, but there's not way you're making him stop.
"Daddy please," you whine as his hand collides with one of your ass cheeks as soon as there's a knock on the door.
Eddie pulls out of you in record speed and pulls up his pants before handing you your skirt that you're quick to put on, followed by your cardigan as Eddie's pushing you towards his side of the desk where you crawl under as Eddie pulls up his pants and underwear, not bother to buckle his belt as he sits in his chair, pushing it under the desk as he tells whoever is on the other side that they can come in and smiles once he sees that it's Chelsea, one of his seniors.
She's holding the test the class had just taken the day before and he's assuming that she needs help with it. He's usually very eager to help, but not right now, not when you're unzipping his pants, pulling his cock out of them.
He wants to tell you to stop, but he can't. His need for you to suck him off outweighs his thoughts of how inappropriate it is in general, let alone with another student there.
"What is it that I can do for you, Chelsea?" He asks, trying to keep is voice even as he can as you take him into your mouth.
"Well," the girl replies. "I didn't do very well on the test and I was wondering if there was any way I could fix it." The look on her face is very flirty and her tone is seductive and normally, Eddie would clock it and send her on her way, but he's a little...distracted.
"Sure," he replies, his voice getting squeaky as you give his cock a rough suck, quickly clearing his throat, trying to play off that he's got something stuck in it, even going as far as coughing into his fist to try be convincing. "Let's see," he says as he takes the test from her, setting it down on his desk, twitching as your sucks get more rough, your tongue putting in the work as it swirls around the head.
"I was also wondering if you would be able to do some private sessions with me?" She asks, twirling a lock of her hair around her finger and that's when Eddie catches on.
Eddie's fist slams down on the desk as he's getting close and Chelsea jumps at the sudden aggression coming from her professor.
"Miss Richards," he says, his voice a little too harsh, but he can't back out now. He's gotta full send it now. "I don't know what kind of professor you think I am, but I am certainly not the kind that sleeps with his students."
"But-"
"No," he shakes his head, his eyes squeezing tightly closed as he's trying so hard not to come. "Now out!" he yells as he points to the door and Chelsea takes her test and hurries to the door but not before she trips over something in her path.
She looks down and sure enough, she's standing on what looks a pair of underwear. And suddenly, everything clicks in her brain as she flees the office, especially when she hears his loud moans coming from the other side of the door after she's closed it. Oh, she's so spreading around that Professor Munson definitely fucks his students.

Logan x hypersomniac reader headcanons
you guys this is literally just insomniac x hypersomniac, but I realized when I was finished writing this ;-;
also, I imagined the original trilogy Logan for this, but if you want to use your imagination ig it could be a different Logan
Masterlist
Tumblr media
First of all, Charles is super nice to you and gives you a rest period in your teaching schedule so you can use it to nap
Your students are also very nice if you happen to fall asleep in class, which doesn't happen often but has a few times.
Jean is super supportive and will help you try to find solutions when your doctors can't help you
So pretty much everyone knows (how could they not when you literally fall asleep at meals?) but you don't mind people knowing
especially when they're this supportive
So when Logan first came to the mansion, you were in the middle of a nap so you had no clue who he was when you finally met him after you woke up
Logan was clueless to your condition, I guess no one told him
As he got to know you better, he started to notice some things about you
like how you would disappear for hours at a time and then resurface like nothing happened
he also noticed you yawned a LOT but didn't piece the two together for a while
He would ask around but everyone says they haven't seen you
When he asks you about it you tell him everything - your struggle to wake up and stay awake, the naps, and even the other effects that come with it like memory problems and trouble concentrating.
Logan's just like :0 How did I not figure that out before?? it all makes sense now
He's SO SUPPORTIVE
He'll remind you about the things you have trouble remembering, and he'll make sure you're taking care of yourself between naps
he'll never admit he's gone soft for you teehee
but it's obvious to everyone else
he still gets moody sometimes, but less around you, and he'd NEVER take it out on you (he takes it out on Scott lol)
you joke about him needing a nap more than you when he's especially grumpy
sometimes you'll sleep way later than you meant to, like waking up at 10pm, and he'll stay up with you
you guys will just be talking in the kitchen until you start to feel tired again
y'all make snacks for your late-night chats
he tries to make sure you're awake from late afternoon naps at a good time (like before 7ish) so that you don't mess up your sleep schedule too bad
he gets to know your schedule, even if you don't stick to it as often as you'd like, he tries to help you stay on it
AND GUYS
if you spontaneously fall asleep somewhere you're not supposed to, Logan will CARRY YOU to your bed and tuck you in (I'm MELTING)
You feel safe around Logan, making it easy to doze off around him
he often finds himself in situations where you're resting your head on him, fast asleep
he'll stay there for a while, and if you don't wake up soon, he'll carry you to bed
Sometimes he watches you sleep
Not in a creepy way (he tells himself) but he loves seeing you so peaceful, the worry melting off you
Jean tells him it looks creepy and he should probably stop before you wake up
Sometimes you get overwhelmed with your feelings about your hypersomnia, and Logan is there to listen and quietly comfort you.
You feel like you're sleeping through your life, like you're not truly living to the fullest potential you can
You also get so frustrated about the lack of answers you have for why you need so much sleep and the constant fogginess of your mind and memory
Logan is here for it all
he might not be the best at openly showing affection and support, but there is no doubt that he cares about you and will do anything for you.
He prefers actions over words, which becomes obvious in the way he treats you and takes care of you
That's all I have for now babes, hope you liked it (again, if you want a full fic lmk)

Strangers
Pairing: Javier Peña x fem!reader (cowgirl!reader???)
Author’s note: goddammit is this gonna be a thing
Summary: Javi struggles to assimilate back into civilian life in Texas until an old friend returns [1.5k]
Warnings: Texas Javi my beloved, language, addictive tendencies, PTSD symptoms, Javi + Steve 4eva, reader has a brother, southernisms, pining, yeah there’s probably gonna be a part two 🙄
Tumblr media
Javi really did try his best to leave Colombia and the ghosts that pricked at his memory every time he turned a familiar corner. He wanted to do better. He felt he had to. Too many people died for him to just throw away his chance at life, but the days were long and hot, and he was so fucking tired. The nicotine patches stopped working, and the bottle suddenly wasn't enough to convince himself he was doing what he was sent to do. That he was doing the right thing. That he was a good person.
He expected the feeling to leave him once he left the imaginary borders of Colombia and returned to the northern valley. He thought working with his dad and getting his feet back under him after years of being pushed and pulled at Reagan's whim would feel better than shaking down teenagers for narco information. Of course, it didn't disappear in the cacti and hazy horizons of Loredo or the arms of his father. It's only been a couple of hours, Peña, he thought. Give it some time. Who knows? Blistering Texas sunsets might be good for burning the blood off his hands.
Except everybody in his small town knew of his exploits in Latin America. They knew his name was plastered to boxes full of evidence against the cartel and then some. They knew Chucho's boy was some kind of fucked up veteran or hero or whatever they wanted to call him. He avoided going into town more than necessary when he first got home because of how often he got stopped. It didn't matter if he was going to the hardware store, HEB, or the mechanic. Somebody ended up talking to him about Escobar or Cali. He couldn't escape his past even thousands of miles away from it. The only good thing about his newfound fame was the free drinks people pushed his way in the shit hole bar just on the outskirts of town.
He tells himself to slow down, what with the early mornings and long days he's working, but it'd be a dick move to turn down free drinks, right? Sometimes, Javi loses hours in the bar, betting money on pool, flirting with women passing through town, and telling war stories of the jungle and sicarios and whatever else comes spilling out of his loose lips. He tells himself he's coping the best way he knows how when he comes down for breakfast looking and feeling like shit, his hair practically wet from lingering cigarette smoke, but he knows better.
His dad deals with Javi's vices the same way they dealt with his mother's death: inefficiently and without making a sound. The most Chucho does is shake his head and sigh when Javi comes stumbling in at some ungodly hour. What more could he do? Javi barely told his dad where he was in the world. How was he supposed to tell him what he'd done? What he saw? What he allowed? No, his dad can never know. It'll kill him. It'll kill Javi to retell.
Sometimes, Javi will call Steve and ask about Connie and the kids, and they'll act like they're old school buddies and not tethered together through tragedy and white powder. Steve will ask him about his sleep, and Javi will give some bullshit answer which makes Steve laugh. "Yeah, me too," he says one time. "Woke the baby up the other night 'cause I was talkin' again. Don't even know what about. Isn't that fun?" Javi doesn't give much away. He never does, but sometimes, it's just nice to know he's not alone in his struggle to get back to normal.
Javi is back in town for a full forty days before he finally stumbles across you. At first, he doesn't remember you or your first name. Your last name, however, rattles around his skull until he finally gets the courage to ask if he knows you as he stands in line at the store. "You look familiar." He says, making you laugh.
"I'd hope so. You were practically livin' in my house in high school." You say, throwing him back to his high school baseball days, spending time either in the field or on the ranch with your older brother. You were a little bit younger than him— the daughter of a weathered cattle rancher— and only caught his attention when you were in the way or being an obnoxious teenager. Man, did you grow up pretty, he thinks. Suddenly, he's hyperaware of his sweaty hair, rumpled shirt, and god-awful farmer's tan.
"Last I heard, you'd moved out of town," Javi says, crossing his arms over his chest and eyeing you carefully. The freckles dotting your face from all your time in the sun should be considered lethal, especially when you smile.
"Last I heard, you were engaged." Just as you did then, you don't hold your punches. The jab doesn't hurt, but it does make him laugh, an embarrassed blush crawling up his neck.
"Alright, you got me there," he says. "How's your brother?"
"Good. Married Suzanna a few years ago, and now they've got some babies running around."
"They live around here?"
"Dallas," you say. "Dillon thinks he's too good for us and decided to be a real estate agent out there instead."
"Sounds riveting," Javi says and you laugh. The line gets shorter and shorter as you talk, but he can't focus on anything but you. "And you? What's a pretty girl like you still doing in this shit hole?" Something behind your eyes flickers at the comment and you take a deep breath, suddenly all too aware of how hot it is today.
"Somebody's gotta get Daddy off the horse every once in a while."
"And what? Your mama can't do that for you?"
"She knows better than to keep tryin'. I'm just as stubborn as he is, so one of us'll win or give up before the other."
"Well, my money's on you." He says easily. You stare at each other for a little bit longer than necessary before the clerk calls you by name to get your attention. Your items are scanned, bagged, and paid for all in the span of a few seconds. You have no reason to linger in the checkout aisle, but you do, rocking on your boots' heels just a little.
"Don't be a stranger, Peña." You say, looking him over as if you're seeing him for the first time.
"I don't think this town's big enough for that." He says, and you chuckle.
"No, I don't think so either," you say. "Tell your dad I said hi." With all your Southern hospitality, you turn and leave. Javi watches you go until the clerk calls his name and breaks him out of it. Well, that and the sound of something crashing to the floor makes him reach for a gun he doesn't carry anymore. His shoulders brace for an explosion, and he can't catch his breath. He stares at the box and the broken jars in it as a pissed-off employee storms off to find a broom. He scoffs.
Javi has dealt with some of the most dangerous people in the world, and jams are what spike his adrenaline.
He tries to shrug it off and pay the cashier, but his ears are still ringing, and his heart is still racing when he climbs back into his truck. Fucking jam. He tries to forget about it as he drives home. He wants to forget about it. He wants to think of anything else.
If that happens to be your smile, the way your laugh fills the air, or the inconspicuous way you looked at him when he complimented you, it's just a coincidence.
When he gets home, he's craving a drink or a cigarette or something more physical to get his mind off of what happened. His shoulders slump with the weight of memory and Chucho sees. He always sees. He just doesn't know the right way to fix it.
"Y'know, uh… your friend you used to play baseball with?" He asks, seemingly out of nowhere, as Javi puts away the groceries. He furrows his brows and gives his dad a confused look.
"I had lots of friends I played baseball with."
"He was datin' that girl you went to Homecoming with when you were a freshman?" Of all the things his dad remembers, of course, it's that. Javi resists the urge to roll his eyes and grinds his teeth instead.
"Suzanna?" He asks and Chucho snaps his fingers in a way that tells him that was the right answer. "His name was Dillion. What about him?"
"Well, his dad heard you're back in town and invited us over for a barbecue," he says nonchalantly and Javi scoffs. "I'm not sure how he didn't know, but you know that old fucker's always out doin' something. Somebody probably told him something or the other. Anyway, you can say no. I told him you were still adjustin'."
"I'll go," Javi agrees too fast. "Might be good to… get outta the house. Wouldn't wanna be a stranger." Chucho is surprised but not displeased with Javi's answer, and they leave it as is.
It's just reintegrating into civilian life. It's just socializing. It's just a barbecue. It's not an interrogation or a raid. It's coping.
Apparently, coping could be really fun if he plays his cards right.

Nerd gojo x loser choso x fem reader
Synopsis:You had gotten everything you've wanted; your dream college, a boyfriend etc etc. However, after getting into many arguments with your boyfriend, you find out he's cheated. So what do you do? Smash the hot tutor and your awkward project partner duh🙄.
A/n: This will be a 3-part series, so bear with me guys
Chapter 1| chapter 2| chapter 3
Warnings: some plot but then smoosh. (cheating, threesome, PIV, oral m and f receiving, switch choso, dom satoru, switch reader, cunnilingus)
Before college, you weren't focused on dating anyone as much as your peers were, and that was fine because with all your attention on school, you had gotten into your top college choice. And things were going well and you finally had gotten a boyfriend who you had been dating for about 4 months and was really outgoing and sweet, though just a little too sweet with everyone else. And that was really no surprise as he was really popular due to the sports he played but its gotten him alot of attention from the other girls.
you thought talking to him about it could've gone easier, but he just belittled you and soon after the days got rough he started going out late to parties with his friends, you guys argued a lot more, and recently you had gotten an anonymous messages from someone who had taken a photo of your boyfriend with a girl sitting in his lap, a red cup in his and smeared lipstick on her face.
Your heart was broken and this was the first time you had been in this situation with no one to give you advice on what to do.
The next day, you had woken up with a puffy face and red eyes. You still needed to get ready for class because you wouldn't let something like this stop you from working hard.
Some hours later you sat in your chemistry class (aka the hardest) struggling to pay attention as your teacher droned on and on, fatigue washed over you like a blanket. You swore you only dozed of for 3 secs tops but suddenly you opened your eyes and the giant board in front of you had words and equations from top to bottom.
Scrambling to write down what you could and taking a picture of the rest for later. You groaned as the bell rang remembering you'd have to confront your man soon. And the time was coming up quickly. But as if an angel answered your prayers as someone taps on your shoulder while you're packing up your things.
"Heyy it's y/n, right?" You nod staring up at the man in front of you. He had a pair of black square glasses, grey slacks, and a black sweater his hair was snow white and messy. He was undeniably handsome as his bright blue eyes looked down at you.
"My name is satoru i sit a few seats behind you i -um noticed you fell asleep during the lecture so wanted to ask if you needed help understanding the material, I um-I tutor sometimes after school so yeah" his eyes darted to look everywhere except you and he placed his hand on the back of his awkwardly. You give him a small smile.
"Thank you so much for the offer, but I don't wanna waste your time, and plus, I wouldn't be able to pay you." he waves his hands in front of me. "No, no, it's free of charge. i swear and plus I'm usually free after school soo" he clasps his hands together while balancing on his heels.
You ponder for a moment thinking about what awaited you when you get back to your dorm and decided on the lesser evil "Alright ill give you my number than we can meet at the library alright?"
You hand him a piece of paper with your number on before exchanging goodbyes with him, heading off to your next class.
Your last period of the day was going by pretty fast though at the end the teacher explained how you had to pair up with someone for a project. You gotten paired up with a guy who you hadn't interacted with that much. His name was choso, he was pretty much normal except for the fact he would stare at you a lot since the first day of school to the point were you have used to it.
You initiated conversation first, since he just doodled on his paper, deciding how you were going to split the project and when you guys would work on it. And by the end of class you thanked God you were done with short responses consisting of 'yeah', 'mhm', and 'sure'.
As you were on the way the way to the library, you were stopped by someone calling out your name "Y/n can we talk for a minute, please?" You turned to face the owner of the voice of your boyfriend.
Before he could continue, you took out the picture of him the girl and held it to his face. "Okay, let's talk. What the hell is this?" I glared up at him and his eyes immediately looked down at his feet. "How could you, I was hurt and you didn't even take the time understand where was coming from and instead you do this!" You force to look at your as you places it in his line of sight.
"Y/n please just listen" you scoffed "i have some where to be so we will talk about this later" Hurt flashed in his eyes, but you just put your phone back in your pocket and you turned and kept walking towards your destination, he just stood there not knowing what to say.
Once you enter the library, the cold dusty smell wafted in the air. Your gaze flickers around the room, spotting your study date as he gives you a small wave.
The whole time, it was very awkward because you ended up understanding everything very quickly, so your study session was over early, and you were distracted as your angrily tapped away at the button on your phone. And when you put put your phone down satoru started a conversation. You didn't mind as it took your mind off of your new ex but you were constantly grabbing your phone.
It pissed gojo off honestly, it had secretly witnessed your argument. Your boyfriend didn't deserve your time and attention like did.
And honestly you don't know what happened or how you got here but apparently gojo invited you over to his house. And now you held on for dear life as your gripped the sheets to his mattress while he pounded like his life depended on it.
He had you caged in under him. The things that came out of his mouth were nasty especially from him, "does he fuck you like this mh?" Or "be a good girl let me hear how much you need my cock okay?" His stamina was insane.
You wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him in for a sloppy open mouthed kiss. The sound of your hips connecting was even more disgustingly lewd but it turned him on even more than he was.
He won't lie he had been obsessing over you since the moment he laid on eyes on you. He just had to have you and today felt unreal the tip of his cock reaching the eye rolling spot that had you chanting his name "p-please satoru-mhm right t-there" hit made his toned body flex while he entered you over over again.
He thought he would cry, but once he regained himself, he noticed your wet face. You were beautiful. He knew that if he died, he would be a happy man. He leaned down and licked the salty tears from your face, and when he did that, he felt you clench around him, causing his hips to stutter as he continued his fast-paced rhythm.
Your sounds reverberate in his head, from you moans you tried so hard to contain, to the squelching noise from where his pelvis met yours "oh baby your s-so good f'me aren't you". He used one hand to hook under your knees. And pushed them as close to your torso as he could to really get deep. the other hand snaked down between you to play with your clit, working it as if his hands were a blessing from himself.
And it must've worked with the way to left deep red marks in his back as is one cue your moans rose and octave while his quiet grunts turned into straight-up begging. "P-please cum f'me o-okay, fuckkkk you feel so good" not even your ex could make you feel this way. And that's what gojo was counting on.
As you both rode out your highs, the sheets below you were soaked, but he stayed inside of you like you'd disappear if he pulled out.
God, he was one lucky man, he thought, as he whispered sweet nothing to you while carefully cleaning you up......

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let Us In!
Warning: kidnapping, manipulation, isolation, probably ooc Taskforce 141, can be read as Yandere taskforce, not proofread
Prompt: Taskforce find You, a sheltered bunny, who saves and provides a place for them to stay. Can they convince you that they aren't as bad as your family makes the world out to be?
Taken at birth, you had lived with a twisted form of family. A mother that dresses you in pretty clothing to show off, a father would spoils you with items to distract you, a brother who babies you claiming that should always rely on him. Of course, you are never allowed to leave the house deep within the woods sometimes you can play outside in the garden with your brother if you're on your best behavior. Society is dangerous full of mean people who will take advantage of you especially when you become of age.
One day Mother, Father, and Big Brother left. They never came back you’re not sure how long it had been but they did tell you in case this happened there was money hidden away for you to use when food was low.
This is how you spent your next years, alone, only leaving your house to for food and ignoring people who try to talk with you. That was until on the way back, you come across a man slumped on the porch of your house.
Fear and curiosity consumed you as you drew closer to man. He’s eyes were closed and his chest was rising up and down. He was dressed in odd bulky vest and clothing with things strapped to it, and wearing a cap.
Father had told you to never get close to someone especially an unknown man due to the dangers they present. But from where you stand you can see blood seeping through his odd outfit and you remember a show where a little girl playing doctor helping toys who are hurt, you are rarely allowed to watch TV but it would be a secret for you to keep, since it’s the right thing to do besides Mother taught you how to bandages.
So with all your courage and lack of strength, you drag the man in by his armpits carefully placing him in front of the couch. You had left to place the groceries in the kitchen, quickly putting any freezer and fridge stuff away, and left to grab a medical box before returning to the man patching him up after struggling to remove the vest and shirt.
Price was stressed not only did their missing go awry, couldn’t get a heli to pick them up due to a storm rolling in an hour or so, but they all had gotten separate, additional Gaz gone radio silent a moment ago. Thankfully, He managed to regroup with Ghost and Soap.
When Gaz came around he was not expecting to see you over him and neither you did expect him to wake up. Gaz watches you let out a yelp and jump away from him your eyes widen in fear staring back at him.
It takes a lot of coaxing you into talking with him, even when you barely give him much other than your name, this was their parent's house, and you wanted to help him just like the Little girl playing doctor. Just as Gaz’s radio go off with the voice of Ghost call for him to which Gaz response being bombarded with question that he tries his best to answer.
All it was for Gaz to try and convince you to help guide his mates here from the raging storm, and I mean a lot of convincing because you kept cowarding away from him and shaking your head. Gaz didn't feel comfortable do this but he had mentioned how you to help him just like the doc and a doctor helps everyone.
That seemed to work and you told him how there were switches for spotlights outside to the right of the house. You had told him you were never allowed to touch them so he has to do so you don't get in trouble.
You watch as the man who introduced himself as Gaz leaves through the front door, and from the window you watch the lights shine through the night while Gaz moves to stand under the porch. Minutes go by as three figures make their way out from the trees.
Oh, what have you gotten yourself into?

I actually love the idea that Billy and William fused instead of just body-hoping. William would have died if Billy didn't come in and they fused! I love him saying that he has a mom because adoption right 🎉
Yes! The alternative is just too sad for me. As for the adoption thing, it's NOT just this fandom that struggles to understand bio vs. adoptive parents. I'm in the Star Wars fandom and there are SO MANY PEOPLE that refer to Anakin and Padmé as Luke and Leia’s "real" parents. Meanwhile, Owen, Beru, Bail, and Breha are called kidnappers or just ignored entirely (yes, I loved the Obi-Wan show. Why do you ask?)
I think the same problem is sometimes happening in this fandom too. We know Wanda and Vision as characters and we want them to be a happy family. We do NOT know Rebecca and Jeff Kaplan nearly as well, so there's a tendency to want to take the child from the characters we don't know as well and give him to the characters we know, like, and want to be happy.
On a slightly happier note, here's all my headcanons about Billy Kaplan's life (not Billy Maximoff or William Kaplan, but the entity that is both of them)
As William's heart stopped, his soul separated from his body and was on its way to wherever Jewish people go when they die
Billy M's soul, at the same time, was fleeing because it didn't have a body to support it
He found William's body easy enough to get into (because a soul had just left it) and close enough to alive to be fixed
However, William's soul was in between Billy M and the body
Billy M could have gone around and been the only soul in the body, but he was scared, okay?
Poor guy was only a couple days old, alone for the first time ever, and his mom had just kinda killed him and the rest of his family
Long story short, Billy M crashes into William and drags them both into the body
Billy M fixes the body just enough to keep living, but doesn't bother too much about the head injury
Meanwhile, William is stuck to Billy M like silly putty when you have two different colors and, by the time they get to the hospital, the two colors have blended entirely to form a new color
There's no way to differentiate one from the other
Billy Kaplan is born!
Because Billy M didn't fix the head injury, they both have amnesia
Billy K wakes up and it's literally "no thoughts, head empty"
(Except for some lingering sensation of loneliness... like there should be something someone? else there)
But not for long because he soon discovers he can hear other people's thoughts!
Which is really funny because he doesn't know that other people can't hear his thoughts
Poor guy genuinely thinks that humans communicate via telepathy for a solid 24 hours before he gets enough weird looks that he puts two and two together
(His parents are totally aware of this
There's only so many times your kid can answer exactly the thought going through your head without you catching on
Also, this is the Marvel universe!
Shit like this just... happens sometimes
They figure he'll come to them when he's ready, and until then they'll think nice thoughts and be supportive)
Billy K spends a solid four months trying to remember who he was before, stealing memories from his parents' heads, and pretending to recover from the amnesia
(Rebecca and Jeff try so hard not to make him feel like they're just waiting for their old son to come back but...)
Four months in, Billy's at the mall with his mom on some errands and that's where he sees it
Hot Topic
He begs his mom to go in there, and it's the first really normal teenage thing he's done since the car crash so she lets him
For the first time in four months, Billy forgets all about car crashes, and memories, and hospitals, and expectations
All that exists is spiky jewelry, ripped black skinny jeans, and a million of those cheap and hilarious pins
Over time, the family settles into his "new normal" and chalk most of it up to teenage experimentation
In that three year period though, Billy can't shake the feeling that something's still missing
He feels out of place in his body, even with the new aesthetic
(He sees that one tumblr comic about the coocoo bird and cries-- a lot. It's the closest he ever gets to telling his parents about his out-of-place feeling)
He doesn't tell them though
Instead, he digs and digs into the weirdest, darkest, most demented corner of the internet

I cant find the wing emoji but x 4 of those because that's also interesting!

Shannon is thriving in her new job. She’s really happy. There’s an energy to her Eddie doesn’t really remember seeing since they were teenagers. And he understands it. The same way he understands something in him shifted when he went from the military, to multiple dead end jobs, to finally choosing firefighting. The thing he chose for himself. And, hey, the extra income compared to before isn’t hurting either.
Buck, who has been steadfast through everything - all the change - is also good. Cooking more than ever. He’s also started working out a lot more and is kind of getting huge. Sometimes he puts on a shirt that he bought two or three years ago, and the thing looks like it’s fighting for its life, and Shannon and Eddie have to exchange a look. He doesn’t seem to know how close he is to resembling a superhero. It’s dizzying. Eddie is a fan.
The kids are also great. Chris has a series of summer camps lined up. Jane is starting to feel more like a little kid and less like a baby every day. She’s really sprouting her own personality. Eddie is so amazed by her. He’s amazed by both of them. Amazed they’re his.

“Nothing,” Chim sighs. “Just waiting for Maddie to text me back.”
Hen smirks, seeing an opportunity to get a tiny bite of vengeance.
“Maddie is ignoring your texts? At this reasonable hour of the morning?” Hen asks. “Wow, Chim. I didn’t realize there were problems in your marriage.”
Chim gives her an unimpressed look.
“Really?” He asks flatly.
What Hen isn’t expecting, is for anyone else to treat this with any credibility. Unfortunately, she has underestimated Buck’s penchant for overreaction. He gapes at Chim.
“So you and Maddie are having issues and you’re taking it out by making up rumors about me?”

Eddie wants to see… Well, Eddie wants to see a lot more than he ever thought he wanted to see.
“Yes,” he says. “So sure. Please.”
Eddie swears he can see the size of Buck’s pupils change.
“Just…” Buck struggles to form words. “Just tell me if…”
If he goes too far? No. Eddie trusts him. He won’t.
“Uh huh,” Eddie agrees.
And then Buck is kissing him.

Bobby is late for their first family dinner. Or at least the first one they’re calling that. Buck has, of course, been invited to Bobby and Athena’s many times before.
Buck is driving over, freshly baked pie in the passenger seat as his contribution, when Bobby calls him.
“Hey,” Buck answers. “I’m five minutes away.”
“Hey, Buck,” Bobby replies. “Athena’s there, but… Sorry, I’m going to be a bit longer. My brother had to rush my mom to the ER again today, and-”
“Whoa, is she okay?” Buck asks.

“Are you sure you’re not worse than yesterday?” Buck asks the literal second the door closes behind Chris and Marisol. “You look iffy.”
Great. Another person fussing over him. Though, he supposes that’s literally Buck’s job at the moment.
“Didn’t sleep,” Eddie grumbles.
“You need sleep, Eddie,” Buck says.
“It’s fine,” Eddie sighs.
“If it was fine, I wouldn’t be here,” Buck says.
“What?” Eddie asks.

Chapter Eighteen
chapter warnings: none?
masterlist
happy monday bffs!! editing and posting this rn with vin's drum stream in the background :) i've written up to chapter 24 now so i'm thinking about posting another chapter on friday again! i'm getting closer and closer to the end of this fic which i’m pretty sad about HOWEVER i’ve started to plan what’s going to come next🤭
Hey, I’m sorry for how I acted towards you today, I just didn't want Rick finding out. I hope I haven’t… Unlock to view more.
Noah scrunched his face up as he read the message over again, wondering what on earth that could’ve been about. However, he knew better than to intervene in your life where it’s not needed, so he put your phone back down and let himself out of your room. As he was about to leave, your phone buzzed again, but he fought against what his mind was telling him and left before he did something he may regret.
He would be lying if he said he didn't think about unlocking your phone and seeing what that was all about, and what Ricky could've possibly found out about. Maybe five years ago that would've been the sort of thing he'd do, but not anymore. He put his trust in you, and let it go.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You were rudely awoken the next morning to the sound of knocking at your door. Struggling to open your eyes, you kicked the sheets off with a groan and rushed to answer the door.
"What do you want?" You mumbled, still half asleep as you rubbed your eyes.
“Good morning to you too!” Bryan laughed, handing you a small brown paper bag, “I thought I’d bring you some breakfast and check in on you after last night...”
“I can’t even remember half of last night,” with a yawn, you stepped to the side to let him in, “I didn’t do anything embarrassing did I? The last thing I want to do is ruin your guys' cool and mysterious reputation.”
“Our reputation's untouched but yours...” he smirked, “Noah had to drag you out when you started to sing just pretend.”
“Oh shit,” you laughed, “I better apologise to him later. What time do we need to be on the bus?”
“About nine, we still have an hour before we've got to be on the road.”
“Okay cool.” You said, sitting back down on your bed.
There was a brief silence before Bryan spoke again, his tone shifting slightly.
“So… I wanted to check up on you, not just after last night but in general,” he said, his eyes softening. “We’re halfway through the tour now, and I haven’t really asked you how you’re doing. You holding up okay?”
You smiled at him.
“Yeah... I think I’m doing alright. I've had my ups and downs and sometimes I still think this is all a dream, but yeah... Overall, I'm good.” You nodded.
“Well I’m glad to hear that,” he says, “Oh and before I forget, Chris has asked if you can fill in for them again tonight. I’ve heard their photographer keeps having issues with the travel side of things and he keeps missing dates.”
“Yeah... That's cool.”
“You don’t sound too excited about that,” he chuckles, “Are you sure everything's okay?”
“Yeah,” you smiled weakly, “I think I’m just tired… and hungry.”
“Well, I’ve got you a bagel,” Bryan said, gesturing to the brown paper bag. “Anyway I can't stay for too long, I need to find Matt, but I’ll catch up with you again later.”
“That's okay. Thank you, Bry.” You said, giving him a genuine smile as he left your room.
As you began to eat, you reached for your phone, feeling slightly surprised when you saw you had a couple texts from Vinny.
Hey look I’m sorry for how I acted towards you today, I just didn't want Rick finding out. I hope I haven’t upset you
But I've been thinking a lot about us and I really think we could make something work if you’re happy to. I'm gonna be totally honest, I can’t ignore the way I feel about you anymore y/n, and I know even if you won’t admit it that you feel the same. We should probably talk about this in person tomorrow, but until then I hope you’re okay. Good night x
You read the text over again, slightly taken back at the confession, before replying
Morning :) You didn’t upset me, I guess I was just surprised at how you reacted. But I’m happy to talk later if you are.
Btw I’m with you guys tonight so I might see if I can sneak on your bus with you this morning x
It didn’t take long for him to reply, you barely had a chance to take another bite of your bagel before you had a message back.
Wow I don’t even remember texting you last night lmao
You better hurry your ass up then, we’re leaving in about 10 minutes. I’ll come by your room and get you :) x
You cursed, nearly tripping over your own feet as you scrambled to pack your suitcase, brush your teeth, and fix your hair, your bagel long forgotten. Before you could even get dressed for the day, there was a knock on your door.
“Do I have time to get changed?” You asked, opening the door to find Ricky and Vinny standing there.
“All the guys are already down there... can you do that on the bus?” Rick asked, pressing buttons on his camera before holding it up to face him.
“I guess.” You sighed, slipping your shoes on and grabbing your bag and suitcase.
“Good morning guys... It's out first night on tour after our week off, we just came to get y/n,” Rick says as you shut the door behind you and wave to the camera, “We’re about to go and check out of the hotel, I’ll see you when we’re on the bus!”
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
“Update, I’m tired! This tour never seems to be ending,” Justin groaned, pointing at the camera, ignoring Ryan as he reminds him everybody's just taken a week off, “Uh.. We’re on our way to tonight's venue- And hey, look, y/n’s with us today! Rick has an extra person to annoy… So he can leave me alone now! Please! Thank you!” He pointed at you with a smirk as he backed away.
“Fuck you!” You called out, laughing as Ricky panned the camera toward you, waiting for you to say something.
You were sitting beside Vinny, who had his head resting on your shoulder as he watched you play a game. He was acting like nothing happened yesterday, like nothing happened over the weekend, which you wouldn't complain about- it saved all the awkwardness and questions. You were waiting for a moment alone with him where you could talk about yesterday, and what he really meant in his message last night. However, with Rick's camera in your face, you worried you wouldn't get a chance.
“Update,” you sighed, faking a smile, “I’m playing animal crossing and procrastinating. I have photos to edit but I don’t want to do it yet because my laptop is fucked, I'm scared it's actually going to blow up, so I’m waiting until I can steal Bryan’s when we get to the venue-"
“Oh is that a fish?” Vinny pointed at the screen, “Can I catch it?”
“You can borrow my laptop.” Ricky offered, putting his camera down, “I don’t know what you usually use to edit but I have a few different apps and software's downloaded on it, you could play about with them and see if they're any good.”
“Really?” You looked up at him in surprise. “I’d really appreciate that, Rick. Thanks.”
“Of course! I’ll go and get it.”
“Vin, I am trusting you with my island, don't cause any trouble or spend all my bells... She's in your hands.” You say, passing him your switch before getting up to follow Ricky.
“I feel honoured.” He smiled. "I'll take good care of it."
As you followed Rick back to the bunks, you noticed he was on a call, and you didn’t want to interrupt. You awkwardly stood there as he spoke, keeping your eye on Vinny as you tried your best not to listen in, but you couldn't help it.
“Should I tell him?” Ricky tried to keep his voice low. “Or do you want to keep it a surprise?... Yeah? Okay… Well, that’s great. Sure, I'll let you know, thank you! Bye.”
He hung up, turning to find you standing awkwardly in the hallway.
“Sorry, that was Vin’s dad,” Ricky explained, gesturing to his phone in his hand. “Don’t tell him, but his parents are coming to surprise him at our next show. They just wanted to double-check the details.”
Your heart sank, panic blooming in your chest. Vinny’s parents were coming?
“What?” Your mouth went dry, shaking your head. “No, I won’t say a word…”
“Thanks,” he smiled, “Anyway, here's my laptop, the password is Ryan's birthday."
You spent the entire journey to the next venue wondering how the hell you would go about the next show. Surely if you stayed with the Bad Omens guys then you wouldn’t cross paths with his parents, but then they’d be asking questions and if any of the others caught wind of the situation after this weekend you’d both have a ton of explaining to do.
Once you were at the next venue all the guys began setting up as you sat with Ryan, who had hurt his back the night before so was excused from any heavy lifting. You had gotten a few pictures of the guys throughout the morning so you could edit them with Rick’s laptop, playing about with the different editing apps he had installed.
“So how are you finding the tour?” Ryan asked, looking up from his phone. The two of you were sat outside the bus with a couple chairs you stole from the venue, the morning sun shining down bright onto the both of you.
“It’s nothing like I expected,” you admitted, “But it’s been fun. I’ve loved getting to know you guys... some more than others.”
“Oh yeah?” He smirked, looking over at Rick, wiggling his eyebrows
“What?”
“I saw you and Rick earlier,” he teased, “Isn’t Noah going to be upset?”
“Ricky?!” You burst out laughing, “No! Hasn’t he got a girlfriend?”
“I don’t know, does he?” Ryan furrowed his eyebrows, “If he does then I haven't met her. He’s quite a private guy, I guess.”
“Guess who…” A voice from behind you made you jump as you felt a pair of hands cover your eyes.
“An angel?”
“Close enough.” Angela smiled down at you, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “Noah was asking about you by the way, I don’t think he realised I’ve literally just got here.”
“He is? Where is he?” You asked, and she pointed to the door that led inside.
“He’s setting something up by the stage with Matt, he also asked if you were hungover but you don’t look it, what happened last night?” She chuckled.
“Shit I forgot about last night.” You shook your head, watching Ryan smile as a curious look spread across Ang’s face. “There was a karaoke night at a bar by our hotel, long story short... Noah had to walk me back after a couple hours.”
“And you didn’t invite us!” Ryan gasped dramatically.
“I had to spend all weekend with Vin, I needed a break from you guys! Anyway, I guess I’ll go and look for Noah. I need to thank him for getting me back safe.” You said, getting up from the fold up chair and giving Angela a hug before you made your way into the venue.
After a few minutes of wandering, you eventually found the guys and gave them a wave as you approached them.
“How are you feeling?” Noah asked, laughing as he handed Matt something to plug into their sound equipment.
“Not too bad,” you smiled, “Thanks for getting me to bed last night. I don’t remember too much of it if I'm being honest.”
“I think that’s for the best,” Matt laughed, “Me and Bryan said you should go up there and sing just pretend tonight- give you a chance to finish what you started last night!"
“Give me a mic and I’ll do it.” You grinned as Noah shook his head.
“I just wanted to make sure you’re alright, I asked Angela when she came through just now but she said she hadn't seen you."
“Yeah she sent me to you,” you smile, “Need any help with anything?” You felt quite helpless as you watched them all stress over whether the cables were plugged into the right places and try to figure out which one was loose.
"No, I think we're good." Noah slowly nodded his head, carefully watching Matt take his hat off to scratch his head.
He wondered whether he should bring up the message from Vinny last night, but he didn't want you to think he was snooping on your phone. Despite his curiosity, he chose not to bring it up, but he'd keep his eye on you today instead, maybe he could piece things together. He thought perhaps he could start by asking you one simple question...
Y/n," Noah begun, but was interrupted by Chris.
“You could go and get some pictures of Rick over there,” Chris laughed from behind you, and as you turned you spotted Ricky standing with his guitar on him with his phone in his hand, “Catch his ass slacking!” He grinned.
However, you were quickly distracted by Vinny at the drums. Shirtless at the drums. Sure, it was hot in this venue, but everybody else managed to stay fully dressed.
“I... uh, left my camera by the bus,” you say, “I’ll get it and I’ll be right back.”
As you left, you could see Vinny glancing at you. You tried not to blush as you pushed the doors open and made your way back to the bus. You desperately wanted to tell him about the news you received from Ricky, to put a plan in place to stop them from saying anything to the others, but you also wanted his parents visiting to be a nice surprise for him.
However, there was one thing that was for sure- you needed to talk to Angela.
“Back so soon?” Angela gave you a smile as you sat back at the table, you had passed Ryan on the way out, leaving the two of you alone. "Everything good?"
“I forgot my camera.” You said, sighing as you sat back in the chair, “Ang, we have a problem.”
“What is it?” She asked, putting her phone down on the table and taking off her sunglasses.
“Vin’s parents are coming to the next show to surprise him, but if you remember Vinny told them that I'm his-”
“Angela?” You heard Chris call out, spotting the two of you and smiling, “Do you want to get yourself set up?”
“Of course.” She nodded, watching as Chris put his thumbs up and walked back into the building. “Look, we’re not too far from my apartment for the next couple shows, why don’t you stay over tonight? I’ve got ice cream, wine,” she smiled, getting up from her chair, “We can have a catch up if you want?”
“I’d love that!” You grin, “Thank you.”
“Any time!” She said, pulling you into a hug.
As she left, you spotted your camera and picked it up, expecting to see some candid pictures of the guys when upload them onto the laptop, as it wasn’t in the place you had left it.
As you made your way back into the venue, your camera in hand, you spotted Rick standing by the side, still absorbed in his phone. You grinned, ready to take the shot, but then you caught a glimpse of Vinny across the room. He was deep in conversation with the rest of the band, but his eyes kept flicking toward you, but you tried to ignore this.
You snapped a couple shots of Rick, chuckling to yourself as he didn't even seem to notice you were taking his picture. You glanced back over at Vinny, who began walking away from the group, heading backstage. He gave you a nod of his head, basically saying 'follow me'.
You left your camera by Nicholas, asking him to keep his eye on it as you followed Vin, trying to keep up with him.
“Hey.” He greeted you softly as you followed him into the room, he reached into the mini fridge, grabbing a couple bottles of water, holding one out to you.
"Hi," you smiled nervously. "So... I think we need to talk."
Vinny nodded.
"Yeah, I..." He paused, thinking of how to word his next sentence. "I'm sorry for snapping at you yesterday, you didn’t deserve that. I’ve just been so stressed lately with the tour, my parents, my roommate’s broken our tv…” He sighs, “And then I’ve been thinking about everything... About us, about you."
There was a vulnerability in the way he spoke that you had never heard before. Vinny was usually the most unserious guy in the room, always making people laugh and having fun, seeing him open up like this felt like you were seeing a whole new side of him.
"What do you mean?" You asked, meeting his gaze.
"That night at the hotel... That felt like more than just a fuck to me." He chuckled, "We weren't just releasing tension, were we? It felt… I dunno. I don't know how to explain it, y/n, but I know you felt it too."
You felt your chest tighten, and there was a lump in your throat as you nodded your head.
"I know... I did, I felt it too," you confess, "But we've talked about this before, Vin. There's Noah, and there's our friendship- I don't want to risk losing that if I hurt you again."
"You won't," he assures you, a soft smile on his face as he speaks, "I know your situation with Noah, and I'm telling you right now that if you're down for it then so am I."
"What exactly are you down for...?" You furrowed your eyebrows.
"You," he smirked, "Can we just give it a try maybe? I'm not asking for a relationship, I'm not asking for you to drop Noah but... Y'know, if you two still aren't exclusive then... Could we…?" He couldn’t bring himself to say the words.
"Last month you told me you can't do this," you frowned, "You told me you’ve been in an arrangement like this before and you can’t do it again. You're totally sure this is okay? You know we'll have to keep everything a secret, right? Folio, Matt and Angela know about us, Ricky’s bound to find out at some point, but it can’t go any further, okay?"
Vin was silent as he nodded his head.
"I know," he sighed, "It's taken some time but I've realised that's what I want. The thrill of it, the risk, I'm willing to give it a try if you are."
You exhaled slowly, a hesitant smile tugging at your lips.
"Okay… If you're sure you really want this. But if anyone, especially Noah, starts asking questions…" you added, "We're just friends."
"Of course," he nods, "But I need to know something, I've been wondering for a while now and I apologise if it's too invasive...”
“Okay…”
“When we were talking about that feeling we felt back in the hotel this weekend, do you feel that when you're with Noah?"
You thought for a moment. Sure, you felt many things when you are with Noah, some things you don't feel around Vinny, but have you ever felt that?
When you’re with Noah you feel nothing but pure pleasure, and you know that’s his aim. He doesn’t care about himself when he’s with you, he prides himself in being a giver rather than a receiver. When you’re with Vinny, however, you feel like you’re both in the moment, you’re connected- dare you even say it, you feel love.
Was that what that feeling was?
Before you could even open your mouth to answer, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway, and you both turned to see Noah walking in, phone in his hand.
"Everything okay?" Noah asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked between you and Vinny.
You nodded quickly, trying to think of something to say.
"Yeah, uh, are you ready for tonight?"
"Our biggest crowd so far? Yeah, I'd say so." He smiled, bending down to plug his charger into his phone. “How are you feeling?”
“Kinda nervous,” you confess, “Vin was giving me a pep talk, right?”
“Yeah,” he nodded, "Anyway I'd better, uh... Get back to the others." Vinny said, giving you a soft smile before leaving the room.
There was quite a silence between you and Noah as you both stood there, opposite sides of the room. He was the one to break the silence first, taking a breath as he crossed his arms before he asked.
"So... What did Vinny not want Rick to find out about?"
You scoffed, screwing your face in confusion.
"What?"
"I saw he texted you last night, I didn't mean to look but your phone was right in front of me and I saw the message. Then, I come in here to charge my phone and it's like I walked in on something, you both had the same look in your eyes as if to say 'oh shit!' when you saw me. Is there something going on between you two?"
"No, Noah..." You chuckled, trying your best to be as convincing as possible as you lie straight to his face, "He didn't want Ricky to find out about the birthday present he bought in New York!" You were shocked as the words left your lips, how you covered your back so quickly, "I accidently said something about it without realising he was there, Vin was pissed and... Yeah." You pressed your lips together as you nodded your head.
You couldn't tell if Noah bought your story or not, but he didn't question anything.
Surely that was a good sign, right?

AITA in this friendship? give me a minute here, it's more complicated than it sounds
I'm 19 years old, female. So there's this friend, we'll call her B (also 19F). We've been friends for years, since elementary. We've been good friends for that time, I thought.
But especially during high school, it was hard to spend time with her. She was always convinced the friend group hated her even though all I'd ever hear was that they liked her and were confused/frustrated/hurt as to why she thought that. She's always had a lot of mental illness going on (depression, anxiety, ADHD, etc) so I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. She spent most of her time in another part of the school refusing to spend time with me or the friend group saying she wanted "alone time" even though she was surrounded by other friends.
I knew she was feeling unwanted within the friend group, so I tried to spend time with her when she would let me. But it kind of alienated me from the rest of the friend group so I spent a good portion of my lunches alone. Plus, even though she would say its ok for me to be there, sometimes it felt like she hated me and my presence. But then she would turn around and tell me I was the only one she could be truly honest with, etc, etc.
The reason I tried not to pay too much heed to the idea that she might really hate being my friend is because I also struggle with anxiety pretty badly. I've been working really really hard to just listen to what people tell me, because I can't trust what I'm telling me.
But this feeling continued after high school, and it felt like there was something I didn't know, like she secretly hated me and only put up with me.
Almost every time I would invite her to do something, she would try to invite someone else too. That's fine, but when it happens almost every time... it made me feel like I was unwanted.
I got really clingy. I'll admit that. I texted her often (most days a week) and would get anxious when she didn't respond within a couple of hours, leading to me double, triple texting most of the time. She told me not to text her during work, but how am I supposed to know for sure? She told me her hours once, but I have no record of it and I don't expect her to memorize my schedule so I feel like that's unfair. Plus, if I didn't press for an answer, I often wouldn't get one at all or wouldn't get one for days. Like one time I tried to schedule a time to hang out a few weeks in advance. She told me she would get back to me, but then the day before, still nothing. I texted over and over again, trying to get an answer, until she got mad at me for texting so much and told me she didn't think hanging out would work out. But the point is I got clingy, in a way that I understand made her anxious.
My anxiety got the better of me and I decided to stop contacting her. I held to it for a couple of months, aside from wishing her happy christmas/new years. But my birthday came and went for the second year in a row without a word, and I decided I needed to talk to her about it.
I did, and although she refused to do it in person like I wanted, I thought it was a pretty good conversation. She told me about a couple things I was doing to make her uncomfortable. I promised to work on those and being less clingy. I told her I need her to be honest about the things that bother her, and she said she needed time to work on that skill. She said she was thinking a month, maybe less, so i agreed not to contact her first during that time and she promised to contact me soon.
I didn't hear from her for three months. I finally broke down and texted her, asking to talk it out and telling her this arrangement wasn't working for me. She didn't respond for almost a week. I needed peace of mind, so I said I was done with waiting and I would be open to rekindling the friendship later, but I wasn't going to hold my foot in the door for her any longer. No response again.
I remembered I owed her money and asked her when would be a good time to drop it off (it was not like five bucks, it was a fair amount of money so I didn't want to like leave it on a doorstep or something). No response again for a day. I told her if I didn't hear from her in a couple of days I was going to keep the money.
She finally responded a day later, saying she didn't have the energy for a "high maintenance" friendship and to leave the money in her mailbox.
I don't know who was at fault here. I mean, I was clingy and I ended the friendship, but she didn't give me a chance to change and didn't stick to her word. But I don't know if contacting her again after those three months was clingy? I really don't know, and the end of this friendship has been tormenting me. I just want to know who was at fault and then I can deal with it, but I honestly don't know.
Also, WIBTA for contacting B again and trying to rekindle the friendship?
Please do not ask multiple questions in a single submission. It just confuses things and makes it hard for people to vote in the poll.

a big list of my favorite little alkaid moments
[modern] being found absolutely conked out in the snow on the mountain. that's one way to have a meet cute i guess.
[modern] alkaid's "morning call service" where he calls mc each morning pretending to be a hotel help desk staff member reminding her to wake up... only to keep it short sometimes because he can't bring himself to wake her up
[modern] whatever sort of Beep inside joke they have going on where they pretend to make a reservation or selection for each other
[modern] alkaid requesting to do the ET finger touch thing when talking about aliens with mc
[modern] mc claiming that she's the dangerous one of the two when it comes to her and alkaid.
[modern] beanie and sparkles having cat play dates. alkaid also using "sparkles would like to see beanie" as an excuse to see mc.
[modern] the only time this alkaid had a murderous look in his eyes was when someone tried to hurt sparkles.
[modern] "hey don't feel down! as long as you try your best, you can definitely become a horrible person!" "......! well if you really think so, then i'll give it a try."
[modern] alkaid being a natural flirt to the point where he doesn't even realize he's doing it sometimes, but being unable to take what he dishes by getting blushy or bashful when mc flirts with him instead.
[modern, halloween] alkaid absolutely struggling to put on the angel wings for his costume and needing mc to help him get the second wing on.
[modern, halloween] mc lamenting that she can't resist eating some of the candy she makes and alkaid being like. oh no. no, that's not falling to temptation, that's just taste testing. and it is Totally your duty.
[modern, halloween] alkaid apologizing for being too forward even though all he did was say he liked mc's bouquet for him the most. someone lock this man up, we are NOT safe with him on the streets.
[modern, princess day] alkaid being "deathly terrified of screwing up" bartending for princess day for mc so he practices.. for hours…. and hours…
[modern, love day] if mc chooses to look at the scenic photos alkaid took at the carnival, alkaid will jokingly claim the ones of him and her are now his and yoink them away from her
[modern, love day] alkaid saying mc can act like a cat when she visits his place, only for her to meow at him and step on his foot
[godheim] alkaid asking for a hug before he overexerts his magic and then goofily proclaiming that he's "so scandalous!" before giving mc another side hug.
[godheim] mc and alkaid's banter where alkaid initially says "good girl" to her for keeping her eyes closed during his magical overexertion, only for mc to say "you're being such a good boy" to his frozen body in the carriage, where his eyelids just barely twitch in vague annoyance.
[godheim] speaking of being frozen. he heard and saw everything mc did while he was in that state. so that was definitely him responding to her. he also remembered her kissing him. he refuses to answer mc when she asks if he was conscious.
[godheim] zack calling alkaid out on wearing his old mage outfit simply bc mc likes it. alkaid just smiles and is like hey. quiet. you might wake her up and she'll hear. that's not how you treat the guy who saved your life 🥺🥺
[godheim] alkaid's support for ayn and mc during ayn's route and helping the two of them escape.
[godheim] during the hunting event, alkaid has to be forced into participating by lars' orders. even then he still doesn't participate and proceeds to buy all of the meat at the market place with the money he and mc made off of his magic tricks. he claims this is definitely not cheating. mc agrees.
[eden] there's not a ton for eden since that world's alkaid is the equivalent of a sopping wet pitiful cat, but there's something endearing about alkaid learning all of his social graces and dating etiquette from old books. the prefect had to sit and watch all of this like some sort of long suffering older brother forced to play dolls or whatever
[eden] alkaid panicking and running off when mc asked him to find the missing boy who called for help.
[eden] out of all of the things he could have chosen to wear, alkaid picks out this like. coquette?? pretty boy tuxedo? WITH a cunty little earring? good for him... good for him!
[eden] he also makes a bunch of little model dioramas with houses, gardens and people in them. if he ever went to the modern world he would LOVE michael's.
[eden] in his epilogue, alkaid remade his little lantern with him and mc in it because she was the only one who could stir any kind of feeling in him after losing his emotions. he gets very embarrassed if she finds this out.

Hi! I struggle with how to study efficiently. Any study tips you can give? Thank you! you're an inspiration <3
Hihi! Thankyou for the compliment :)
I'm disabled, so my study techniques have changed a lot over the years, so I'll give you both — when I was able-bodied and what I do rn.
Tumblr media
(able bodied)
Reviewing lecture notes
📝 So the first thing I do is, review the day's lectures after coming home before doing any other leisurely activities. I come home, eat something, then look through the topics that have been done for the day, and make sure I understand everything. I don't STUDY it, but only read through.
Posing deadlines for myself:
⏳ I do this for a few days until a significant amount of portion is done, and THEN I start studying. I finish one chapter per day, or if it is a huge one, split it for two or three days. I usually pose a deadline for myself — if i have 5 hours to complete this part, and it has 25 pages, so i need to complete 5 pages in one hour, which is 1 page every 12 minutes. I know this is very specific but giving specific deadlines for myself help me complete things faster. And breaking up big chapters like this also make em less intimidating.
Pomodoro:
🕑 I used a 60-10 pomodoro, give and take a few minutes — and it worked because when I was able bodied, I could focus for longer periods of time without any difficulty.
Making notes: Is it required?
✒️ One important thing to think of while taking notes is— do you really need to take seperate notes in order to study, or is reading from the textbook enough for you? Personally, my textbooks have information that's spread through pages and I like my study material to be concise and to the point. I zone out really quickly while reading from the textbook because the information is EVERYWHERE. Abd also the lack of color makes it boring lol. This is why i make seperate notes. If you have no problem with reading from the textbook or any other printed material, I think making notes would be a waste of time.
Physical vs Digital notes:
⌨️ I extensively take physical notes. I love writing down information, color coding them, and highlighting key points. The colors help me visualize the page during the exam, and sometimes I remember an answer only because it was written in a different color than the rest of the page.
I know people who take digital notes, but that doesn't work for me because again, I zone out while reading things from a screen XD. But there are a lot of advantages like easy portability, better organization etc.
(disabled)
Start early
📝 I start studying from the first day. Since my health fluctuates a lot, I don't know when I will go down with a flare and not be able to study. So I start early and try to be ahead of the lecturers so even if I take a few days off, I'm not lagging behind.
Pomodoro:
🕑 Sitting for a long time messes up my hips, so I use a 20-5 pomodoro. I study for 20 minutes and then walk around for 5, stretching a little etc.
Posing deadlines:
⏳I make a schedule but not a very harsh one. Because I need to make it flexible as my health fluctuates a lot. So I usually assign study days for two days, then take a day off, so that I don't get burntout easily. I usually start with assignments the day it is assigned, so that I can do a little everyday and complete it before the due date without tiring myself out.
Making notes:
✒️ Even if I am disabled, I take notes (this does not apply to everyone, I'm just giving my experience). I've tried taking digital notes, and although the stylus and/or typing is much easier on my hand, I allow myself the pleasure of taking physical notes whenever I have the energy to. Because I genuinely cannot study from digital notes lol. I color code my physical notes so I can remember and recall information easily, and it also makes any topic less boring :D
These are all the tips that I use(d), I hope they help you anon!
