some studio shots! I recently started (casual) modeling last fall ~ being in front of the camera is intimidating but I think I’m getting more comfortable😅

Im just here for the vibes…

Believe it or not yall I used to have serious social media anxiety.

As a black male educator it was easier to just conform and keep a low profile by either leaving social media alone, or only posting sporadically the achievements of my students or my self.

While it was a part if me, it was never the real me. Certainly not the parts of me that are authentically artistic.

To get over this stigma that I had of posting I just started to record myself all the time as I attempted to create, engineer, record myself, etc.

Welp, while I have been able to overcome that obstacle by just posting consistently.

Now I want my message to be clearer. I want to reach more people with my art. I want to create art that will move people and that will be undeniable.

Simultaneously working on my music business and upping my social media game is mentally taxing for the mind.

Then there js the fact that I have to get your attention with a hook and I only got 3-seconds to do it like wtf 😳

Sometimes, ya just wann vibe ya know. I have to if I want to get into my creative flow state.

Pleasantly present-

I find myself up before the sun breaks

Happy to be semi sleepy eyed setting up the morning routine

Shutting off my alarm 1 hour earlier than expected

Just to enjoy what refreshed spring day has brought

Do the minor chores to move them off your plate without much procrastinative drag

Coffee is done by 6:33 when the golden light rays burst through my living room

Shabby Chic apartment, I've never been so happy to be here

If you could have seen me 5-10 years prior

Eager to enjoy the ride to the Art Center

Righting wrongs never felt so freeing

I have always been the type to shove head phones in

Wear a semi tuned out face that says, "don't fuck with me"

I find myself opening the grand doors to light airy keys of the piano class preforming Chopin

I pull the head phones off as I walk along the floating music notes

With every step up the stairs way I dance

My fingers lightly touch the railing to each key stroke as I mentally play with them

My eyes wander child like to the ever changing displays of apprenticeship

Crafters soon to be masters

People pass smiles returned with smiles

Maybe it's not just me feeling this way

Maybe it's just Springs' energetic pull to happiness

But I've never felt more pleasant to be so present
