in my heart of hearts mike wheeler is absolutely an athena kid but i also have to offer up a concept that i think has extreme comedic and dramatic potential aka: repressed gay teenager mike showing up at camp half blood unsure of who his godly parent is and feeling insecure about not having powers and one day when he’s making not-so-secret heart eyes at his best friend and son of apollo will byers is when a bunch of glowing floating hearts show up above his head. and that’s how mike gets claimed by none other than aphrodite, the goddess of love and sexuality, and is in full denial about it for three days because he thinks it’s some kind of sick and twisted JOKE
(on aphrodite’s end, she’s upset mike is throwing away the gift of true love and keeps trying to trick him out of repression by making more and more improbable and hilarious gifts appear when he and will are hanging out. mike hands will a book and it turns into a box of chocolates and he has to fling it away like a frisbee before will sees it. they’re having lunch and romantic music starts playing. she gives mike the same blessing she used to claim piper and will can’t even look in his direction for a full day because he starts blushing so hard. fifty bouquets of flowers show up at the apollo cabin’s doorstep with a note that says love, mike and by the end of it, mike isn’t even repressed and unsure about his sexuality anymore — he’s just trying to not throw himself into the bonfire out of sheer embarrassment)

Watching 13 year old Dick Grayson in Young Justice is everything. That more-or-less-resposible, more-or-less-reasonable big brother nightwing Dick, was a menace as a kid. He's so sarcastic, such a little shit, I love him.

Hob's immediate reaction upon waking up in a creepy torture dungeon is to call for Dream for help, then promise his captor will "never wake up from [his] nightmares" do with this information what you will

Seeing posts from folks getting genuinely angry at the intrepid heroes and Brennan (or putting full blame on the ih and acting like Brennan can’t handle a campaign) for them taking out opponents is like… like I’m not one to say “go touch some grass” but if you’re getting so angry over not just a dnd show but over the characters trying to stay alive by taking out their enemies then please go look at the fucking sky or read a fanfic or log off like wtf y’all??? I think rat grinder redemption arc would be great too but you cannot genuinely expect the bad kids to let themselves be killed by trying to non lethally attack these fucking insanely high level enemies
Cause the rat grinders aren’t gonna just be convinced to not do this, regardless of possession or not they’re pretty in with the plan and they’re also really high level like a lv9 spell?? What else would you expect the bad kids to do?? If I were in the campaign I too would be going for the kill. It’s the smart move. And also the finale is next week like if they’re gonna get to revive Lucy they’ll also more than likely revive the others they have to kill
Just log off a bit and chill the fuck out it’s just a show

As someone who's been a Team Starkid fan since the beginning, since 2009... do the young fans who only know hatchetfield know the old lore?? Do you know about crying in the choir room?? Do you know the door gag? Do you know Liam's got a phone call? Do you know about the iconic accidental sing along SanFran Con appearance? This isn't me being elitist or anything, I genuinely want to know! I just feel so very much older than all of you, all the time. Does anyone remember Tanya and her gay little blonde bob???

"Back when you first came into my life, I recalled a place that I knew as a child A special place One that I held close to my heart Won’t you lead me in a dance down this winding road where light and shadow entwine to take hold of the thoughts of the one left far behind? Know that, sometimes, I want to turn around and see the things that I’ve passed on the journey, but know with love on my side, with courage and pride, I’ll fight I will carry on"

i feel like centaurworld fans often miss the point of the show by pointing to the nowhere king as the main evidence of the show being "edgy" and "mature" or thinking the show should focus more on the serious fantasy aspects, when (IMO) a major theme of the show is that characters who seem silly and carefree on the surface without any "real problems" can also have complex lives and trauma and it's important to empathize with them instead of assuming they can't possibly understand Real Pain or be strong on their own
like the contrast between centaurworld and horse's world is baked into the show's themes, the whole reason the nowhere king exists is because of the mistaken in-universe assumption that centaurs are all childish fools, it's so wild to see people only praise the nowhere king as complex and ignore things like wammawink's compulsive need to take care of her herd due to losing hers as a child, or the goddamn suicide allegory episode.

one of my all-time favourite KND episodes genuinely has to be OPERATION L.O.V.E not only because it's the most ridiculous musical ever; but mainly because of THIS:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
im genuinely SOBBING look at the five of them in that horrifically ugly leather jacket. the way they're all still dressed up in 50's attire, like look at their hair and clothes they're going all out. THE WAY THEY'RE ALL LOOKING AT NUMBAH 3 WITH SUCH LOVE AND SINCERITY HELLO IM CRYING.
you can bet your ass these losers practised for weeks and weeks on end even with all those ridiculous ass evil schemes going on. I'm also willing to be numbah 3 rehearsed with them and was fully on board yk, supporting them through this and all.
like what IS this I can't with this show I love it sm.

MLP: FiM has some of the best little kid writing I've ever seen in any sort of media. The cmc are very clearly kids, their worries and struggles are all things that 7-8 year olds really worry about. But it's done in a way that still treats them as people, if that makes sense. I remember watching around that age and genuinely relating a lot to the cmc. They're well-rounded, and written as people rather than the Token Little Kids (even if that is their role, marketing-wise).
I'm not doing a very good job of wording it right now but I really do enjoy that the cutie mark crusaders are characters just as much as the mane six, and are still little kids at the same time. It's refreshing.
