I have been averaging about 20 QLs to watch each week this summer, I have about 46 queer films left to rate in my festival list, and I still have to finish my Pride Petty Watch (Pride is all year round in my heart, so leave me alone).
I'm DROWNING in queer content.
And I have never been happier.
Even the stuff I hate makes me happy because while I'm yelling at those dumb bitches, I remind myself that five years ago, I didn't have dumb bitches. I had dead bitches because shows were constantly burying the gays.
So I'm here to support queer rights AND wrongs while basking in the variety of shows we continue to be offered. There is something for everyone to like. And to hate.
My homophobic ancestors are rolling in their graves right now, and my queers ones are dancing on their graves.
Blessed.

enough stories about how someone learns to truely be happy through love. i want a story where someone is desperately seeking out love thinking it's the only way to be happy only for them to learn by the end that happiness is what they make of it and they don't need love at all to make it.

Definitely a fan of this spin on the All Links AU, but until the second jump it felt like it was going to be a short story: Skyloft Link seeing the final result of the curse he feared, but learning that even when failure is certain, life goes on. Did you always intend for it to stretch on into a much longer All Links AU, or was that part intentional?
the story was always intended to go this way! not to spell out my own themes I guess lol but part of the point is that the cycle seems like it ties into a neat bow that way, but the reality is that it doesn’t.
not that Slate is wrong or anything—Hyrule does always return, and the people are still here, and that means something. But it’s up to Loft to determine whether he’s satisfied with that, and that’s what the rest of the story is gonna explore

bruce and alfred: *thinking they managed to tag team jason into staying the night at the manor* 🤡
tim: *just existing as tantalizing eye candy for jason* 😒
jason: 😏
help i love this i'm cackling-
i think it's funnier if Tim also doesn't know and half the fun for Jason is getting to stare down Tim and make Tim wonder what on earth is going through Jason's head. he'd probably assume it's an intimidation tactic, or Jason thinking about all the ways he wants to kill Tim. it's delightful miscommunication of Tim being wary around Jason, always expecting a fight. and Jason damn well knows it, but he does nothing to correct Tim's assumption. He likes seeing Tim tense and ready to throw hands at a moment's notice. Jason just likes seeing what Tim is capable of, knowing how dangerous the little rich kid is. he wants to see how long he can stare before Tim breaks and asks him what his problem is.
and of course, Bruce, Alfred, and Dick are obvious. Cass is curious but not interfering because she just wants to see where this goes. Bruce is so caught up in the happiness of Jason finally playing nice for once pulling his punches and being willing to listen to Bruce that he's overlooking the obvious tension. Jason hasn't actually hurt Tim yet, so Bruce can't get mad for a little staring. he reminds Tim to just not sink to Jason's level.
when Tim does break and he does call Jason out for it, Jason just makes a lewd comment. just to throw Tim off and see how Tim reacts. it sends Tim sputtering and doubting Jason. he calls Jason's bluff and well. we all know how that ends.

Three Guys On A Sofa: Try Guys, Watcher, Values, and Cognitive Dissonance
Listen, as someone who has no real emotional investment in Watcher but all the emotional investment in the last "three guys on the sofa" internet scandal (Try Guys were MY long-standing Buzzfeed emotional support dude-group), what has kind of amazed me is the difference in reaction to the two scandals.
Watcher's video was built up for a week as a positive announcement but immediately cratered their reputation, revealed the cracks in their handling of business/lack of forethought in ALL THREE FOUNDERS, and, thanks to them not responding quickly to fan reactions, is now cementing their negative perception in a way they might never recover from.
On the other hand, the Try Guys' video was possibly one of the best apology videos/reactions to scandal I've ever seen. It seemed like a quick response to the breaking scandal but was well-thought out (and as was discussed in podcasts, had been extensively thought-out/planned for at least a month, with all three of the remaining Try Guys heavily invested in the investigation/handling of the problem), reinforced audience sympathies because the problem had been dealt with, and most importantly reinforced the idea that the audience's faith in the remaining Try Guys was warranted.
The Watcher video revealed the massive gap between the ideals that the Watcher Guys (all three of them) had purported to hold for years (authenticity, "eat the rich," a strong personal/parasocial connection to their audience) and what was being executed in practice, while the Try Guys' video showed that the ideals that Keith, Eugene, and Zach had held (non-toxic masculinity, respect for women, healthy working environments, a strong passion/belief in supporting their staff) still seemed as genuine as can be.
TLDR; I think that the Try Guys were able to recover from the Ned of it all in a way that Watcher won't be able to because while their apology video showed quick action and reinforced/proved that they stood by the same values they'd always had, Watcher's video and fan response has only shown that they don't seem to hold the values THEY preach, fundamentally betraying their audience.

I'm loving the trend of keeping Branch and Poppy as exclusively friends in media outside the movies because it's a good way to feed Broppy shippers and people like me who don't ship it. So there's friendship content and couples content. I've never really seen a franchise do that before and it makes me really happy!!

The ace discourse about Jon is actually kind of crazy to me because there's literally so many different forms of asexuality. And I mean yeah we can say that we heard it stated that "Jon doesn't" when discussing if he has sex at all but that's also coming from someone who heard it from someone else. It's a secondary source's information, and to be honest there's a lot of room for more intricate explanations in the "he just doesn't" argument.
I myself have had people say I "just don't have sex" when they talk about me which isn't true. I do, on occasion, and I identify as ace. Sure, using ace as a label is still new to me, personally, but it doesn't change the fact that its what I am, it's what several friends of mine are, its just that I sometimes find it easier to say I just don't have sex to people that really don't need to know about my business. I personally wouldn't describe someone else's ace experience to people they don't know in detail, either. I'd just say "they're ace" and let them do what they will with that information because it wouldn't be my business to explain someone else's experience to others without their knowledge.
I don't necessarily take Georgie telling Melanie that Jon "just doesn't" have sex as like, a firm stance that he never has sex ever. My personal head canon is that he's more my flavor of ace; he has sex sometimes, and maybe hes more aroused by situations than people. Im not in ANY way saying that people thinking Jon doesn't have sex at all ever is bad; that's great! And I encourage it because I want people to have fun and feel connected to a character they enjoy! Sex repulsed Jon is valid! Sex neutral Jon is valid! Jon that doesn't want to be touched but doesn't mind touching others is valid! All forms of ace Jon are valid!
This fandom itself is how I learned that there's so many different shades to being asexual. There's so many different ways ace people experience, or don't experience, sex as a whole and this fandom has opened my eyes to that and helped me identify myself. And I think that's amazing. I just also don't really understand the purpose of there being fights about whether or not Jon is a certain type of ace.
Ace people exist in so many forms. Apply what you believe and want to it. It's a beautiful thing to have a character you can relate to on such a level when ace depictions in media are still so rare.

Benny x Courier but the Courier is increasingly in denial for their feelings for Benny cause they see him as this loser pretty city boy Vegas type and they slowly (or rather quickly) realize that there were in fact reasons why Benny was able to manipulate so many people, infiltrate the Fort and avoid serious injury for all of it.
Like surprise the corniest loser you know is actually pretty badass and you kinda find that infuriatingly attractive.
