YA'LL... So I was cleaning out some old stuff, and I came across my copy of The Legend of Korra: An Avatar's Chronicle. Then, I decided on a whim to read Lin's letter to Korra. Well, something gave me pause.
Tumblr media
Why is Lin mentioning specifically visiting this random chef in her letter to Korra lmaoo? "Ridiculous (affectionate) chef," she says. Unless...
Tumblr media
Here we have Lin attempting to act natural after Mako just called her out for "sleeping for 16 hours." Right... holed up in the guest house for 16 hours ;)
Keep in mind, the scene right after this is Lin sipping her kalenutsco. Before slipping out the back of the guest house, consider the chef saying, "Meet me in the dining room, bby grl, let's get you rehydrated."

Moodboards for @camhues
So, I've been getting a bit bored with my life lately and decided I needed to do something to get busy. My art skills are killing me and I'm trying to practice but I gave up for a while. Then I'm scrolling through Tumblr and admiring everyone's amazing OC's and I wish I could draw like them and some of them are underrated more than should be so...Why not just celebrate them ?! I can't for my own life draw anything good but what I can do is find good aesthetic choices and I love making moodboards and such for characters. So that's what I'm doing for OC's of people who need more attention ! Today we are starting with the beautiful and talented @camhues. If you don't know them, she is a artist of Tumblr mostly known for her LMK OC's and does a lot of doodles with them. And she makes only women and OH MY GOD, THESE ARE THE MOST GORGEOUS WOMEN IN MY LIFE AHH- Enough, I need to get on. She has a lot and I did one for all of them ! (Sheesh-) Or at least the ones I know. So Here's the Moodboards for them and a quick summary of what I think of them.
Tumblr media
First off, Mama Jun. Her main OC from what I know and sort of a mother figure to MK and a reincarnation like Pigsy and Tang. Um, she's so gorgeous. I want that braid and the simplistic design works in her favor because there is something so simple and charming about her when I look at her. Also, her Mama-Son bond with MK is adorable-
Tumblr media
Then there is Daiyu who from what I know is a Plant-Controller Demoness...or something ? Oh, and she's shipped with Red Son and their name is RedJade. Not as simplistic as Jun but it works in her favor here because she could step on me and I wouldn't be offended. Just let me smell the roses you grow, Daiyu !
Tumblr media
Next here is Ling who is a Jade Maiden and is probably one of my current favorites. One of the simpler designs which I love and the lore behind her is also something I wanna find out. Her aesthetic was something I struggled with but it worked out. And as for who she is dating, it is unclear as Cam said she could be with one of three characters. Azure, Wukong or Macaque- I think she and Azure would be really cute-
Tumblr media
Here we have Miss Suyin, secretary to the Spider Queen and Resident Mommy according to those who repost her- That's why I added that 'Mommy, sorry-' picture, I couldn't skip the joke. This woman is one of the many reasons I like women with glasses and she's a spider and her 4 eyes look cool-
Tumblr media
Another one of my favorites, Baozhu. A Monkey Painter who is someone who I really wanna exist in real life so I can touch her fur and hair because it looks so fluffy ! I mean, look at this girlie ! She's FLOOFY ! I wanna touch the floof ! <333
Tumblr media
And now we have domineering Lady in Ao Jiang who from that name I believe is somehow related to Ao Lie ? And is part of Mei's family ? I don't know that much yet but yeah, I love this one. Also, the little jewels hanging from her horns ? *Chef's kiss*
Tumblr media
Space Lady Polaris who is giving me stars in my eyes for how cute she looks alone. She looks like someone who would be waiting in my dreams so I could just talk to her. I don't wanna burden her with my troubles though-
Tumblr media
Brave Knight of the Falling Stars Asterius who I think might be related to Polaris in some way. They are both Space related in a way. I wonder if there is a connection ? But I love how she looks. She seems like a tomboy and I love tomboy characters :)
Tumblr media
Lychee, Oh Lychee, how I tried to do justice for you ! But your aesthetic was something I couldn't nail down much. But at least I added real Lychee's for your sake and put some baking and wrestling into it. Please don't hit me...Or you can. You're gorgeous as you are friking intimidating. For a wrestler and a baker anyway.
Tumblr media
Meihua who is honestly one of the most wholesome characters I have seen in a while. She gives me hopeless romantic vibes which I tried to add in here. The flowers for his florist work as well and mainly pink for this one because it matches her hair. Younger me would've loved her while current me thinks she's a lovable character who needs protection.
Tumblr media
This woman, however, doesn't need protection as she can use her heels to murder her way through the crowd. Xin Yan, everyone. An evil woman who is gorgeous and she knows it. I heard she was a dancer and singer and the owner of a nightclub so that inspired this a lot. Xin Yan looks like she could kill me with a stare...and I would thank her for it.
Tumblr media
Zhenzhu who I don't know much about but damn I really wanna give her a hug because she looks so sad in this picture. She's a handmaiden from what I know for the Empress of Heaven. HOW IS SHE A HANDMAIDEN WITH THE LOOKS OF A GODDESS ??
Tumblr media
Chenguang is the ancestor of Jun who once went on the Journey to the West disguised as a man. Her aesthetic was hard to nail down but I eventually went for one that has themes of independence, journeys and outdoor backgrounds.
Tumblr media
Ehuang who I thought was another version of Wyldfyre from Ninjago: Dragons Rising. If I didn't know she couldn't control fire, I would've thought fire would be her entire thing. That's why I added boiling water. Along with potions and lots of red.
Tumblr media
And last of the OC'S, Chyou ! Who I really don't know much about except for the fact she is an Egret Celestial. So she's graceful as the bird itself and as beautiful as it as well. She is really lovely and the flowers in her hair are a nice touch <3 And that's all the OC's belonging to @camhues ! Or at least the ones I know. If I missed anything, I apologize and I'll make one for them on another day. But for now, have this. These were so much fun to make ! :)
Also, Cam, if you are looking at this, this is for you:
Tumblr media
This moodboard is for you ! Don't take this the wrong way but you give me Chaotic Academia vibes- That's not an insult ! I'm sorry, your art is lovely and should be viewed by everyone ! Maybe I'll do this again but I don't know yet. I have to find time to do so. For now, have these gorgeous women ! And guys, please go and take a look as Cam's stuff. They are a very talented artist with a unique style and just a lot of women who you will grow to love ! For now, I'm Vee and I'll see you later when I can :D
All these beautiful characters belong to @camhues (Do not steal from her)

ooh, i’ve got one!
wu and mako’s relationship with opal? aka their coolest in-law lol
OOOhhhhh Okay so I think Mako and Opal have a very. Just normal relationship. Like very typical brother-in-law sister-in-law stuff. Once Opal and Bolin start having kids, Mako's around a lot helping, so I think maybe that's part of how they get closer? They probably have some laughs over how ridiculous their spouses are.
Opal and Wu both come from more affluent backgrounds. and they both fall in love with these orphan chaos brothers. I imagine they bond a lot over that. I also think Wu gets low key adopted by Suyin so he gets close to all the Beifongs so Opal and Wu get this very like, sibling-esque relationship going on. I think they bond a lot over fine dining. Wu clearly has feelings about upscale food and Opal grew up with a personal chef so they're both very much like, comfortable with fine dining. They probably go to fancy restaurants and wine tastings together all the time.

It's Not Tenzin
Here’s my submission for day 7 of Lin Beifong’s Week. You can also find it on AO3.
Pairing: Lin Beifong x 😏
Rating: G
Art made by JadeLotus💚
Poppy and Lao's ceremonial annual Beifong reunion had been reinstated after decades. Ever since Lin waved a white flag on the family drama, it was meeting after meeting almost every month. Whether it was Suyin’s dance recital or Huan’s exhibition or the plethora of hobbies Wing pursued before its disastrous showcase, Lin was obligated to attend. But the breaking point was when the ticket vendor at the Republic City train station asked Lin if she wanted to buy a monthly pass to Zaofu. That was it. This family had been seeing each other a little too much our Chief was fed up.
And that’s how the annual Beifong reunion came about. Once a year, at a predetermined location, the entire Beifong clan would gather, exchange pleasantries, and well, unpleasantries, and most importantly, were exempt from the remainder of the clan’s activities. "For the rest of the year, voluntary participation only," Zaofu's matriarch had said.
At nineteen years old, Lin couldn’t care less about Suyin’s rampant gossip sessions, but at fifty-eight years old, Lin realized she could care even less about the same.
After a riveting game of power disc in the morning, followed by tea and snacks courtesy of Suyin’s fantastic chef, Lin found herself feeling fresh and rejuvenated. For the first time, she wasn’t counting minutes until she could be back in Republic City.
Little did she know that feeling would be wildly short lived.
Toph and Suyin, amidst conversation, took their seats beside Lin. Su giggled at something her mother said, forcing Lin to repress the grunt that her sister’s shrill voice induced.
“You’ve hated that sound ever since you were six years old,” Toph began.
Lin raised an eyebrow.
“That’s because I was born when she was six years old,” Suyin said, giggling again.
“And you say I remember nothing of your childhoods,” Toph remarked.
Lin didn’t want to engage. Rewinding Beifong memories had always been a risky move- and Lin didn’t intend on drowning after all these years.
“Anyway,” Suyin said, as if reading Lin’s mind, “I was just telling mom about why Bataar’s new interest in—”
“Mmmm, didn’t you tell me all about that last night?” Lin tried cutting her off.
“Oh no,” Su smirked. “This was something that happened last night. You see, it all started because Bataar was missing me in bed since I was with—”
“Suyin, you’re my daughter and I tolerate you in that capacity, but I cannot listen to your sexcapades with that tendril of a man any more than once a day. You already ruined breakfast.”
Lin had never been more thankful for her mother’s quippy interruptions.
Unfortunately, that too would be short lived.
“However,” the blind woman continued, “Zuko was asking me about you, Lin and your sexual life.”
Lin almost choked on her tongue.
“Her sex life?” Suyin echoed, appalled.
“Romantic life. Same thing,” Toph said with a shrug.
“I hope you let him know that there’s nothing to know,” Lin replied with a frown.
“Oh, I would have,” Toph said with a chuckle, “but you see, I don’t lie.”
Lin gawked at her mother. Suyin nodded from side to side, quickly trying to study the expressions on the women’s faces. There was something she didn’t know and that was plain wrong. Suyin had to be in the know about everything and everyone’s business. This was utterly unacceptable and in her own home no less. But as if reading her daughter’s mind- if she could ever read anything- Toph pulled out a dilapidated piece of paper from her pocket. Handing it over to her youngest, she said, “Well then, explain this.”
Suyin gazed at the letter. Her eyes would’ve fallen out of their socket at the sight of a gossip so juicy- something she couldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams.
“I recognize the handwriting!” she gasped.
Lin moved closer to her sister, face painted with concern over an ambiguous letter, sole anxiety and no heart pumping blood through her veins.
“What is—”
Suyin gasped louder. “Lin! Are you having an affair with Tenzin?!”
“No!” she exclaimed, snatching the letter. Her eyes followed the scripture unorderly. Where was this letter from? Why was it in her belongings? How did her mother, of all people, find it? But most importantly, the penman and contents of this letter rattled her as her vision glazed through it quickly. Realization struck like lightning, forcing her to bite her bottom lip with fear.
“Who else would call you their beloved and use hackneyed words like ‘I love you more than anything, why won’t you believe me’ or—”
“It’s not Tenzin!” Lin reiterated through gritted teeth. “Where did you find this letter?” she glared at Toph and slammed the paper on the table, visibly harrowed by its contents.
“More importantly, who is so in love with our Chief Crankypants?” Suyin asked.
Lin slapped her forehead when Toph burst out laughing. Suyin sneakily grabbed the letter and opened it back up to find the answer to her own question.
Tumblr media
“So, who is it?” Toph asked.
Suyin couldn’t help but hold in her smile as she read through its entirety. Lin didn’t even bother interrupting her as she covered her face with embarrassment.
“Lin,” she said softly, “this is probably the sweetest, most tender love letter I have ever read. But it doesn’t say who it is. They’ve signed their name as ‘your smarter half’ and if that isn’t Tenzin—”
“It's NOT Tenzin!” her voice resounded the room.
“Who’s not Tenzin?”
The Beifong ladies looked up at the sound of the new voice. It was Asami, and behind her, came General Iroh, Avatar Korra and Detective Mako. Now that Bolin had become a Beifong, this had become an extended family reunion.
Lin groaned.
“My sister’s mystery man,” Suyin said with a giggle.
“Mystery man and Lin Beifong!” Korra cooed, bending a gust of wind underneath to prop herself close to the table.
“Korra, please.” Lin grumbled.
“Yes, Korra. Please!” Toph offered jauntily, encouraging the Avatar.
“Where did you find this letter?” she asked again, in a sterner tone.
“I found it hidden in a pillowcase in your bedroom.”
“My bedroom?” Lin asked, wondering if the room in Suyin’s house qualified as ‘her’ bedroom.
“Your old bedroom back at the Beifong mansion in Republic City, obviously.”
Lin rolled her eyes, and Toph didn’t miss it. “Evidently, I couldn’t read it when I found it so I brought it here for someone to read it out to me! Just be grateful I took it to Suyin first.”
As Lin narrowed her eyes, trying to decipher what her mother meant, Korra read the letter out loud to the group to catch them up with its contents.
“Chief!” Mako cackled. “I didn’t realize you liked your men sappy!”
“I mean, she did date Tenzin.” Bolin added.
“IT’S NOT TENZIN!” came the loud response, causing Bolin to convulse in his spot.
“Who is it then, Chief?” Korra laughed.
Lin glanced through the room with apprehension. When her eyes met Asami’s she relaxed and gave her a meek smile.
“Let me start here- when Tenzin was away visiting the air temples with his father, we weren’t exactly together,” Lin entwined her fingers together, thinking on how to proceed. Being caught totally unawares by this letter into a nook of her past made it difficult to relay. “So, at the time I was seeing someone from school. We had a bit of an on-again-off-again relationship and—”
“Gosh, Lin! Who is it?” Suyin cried with excitement.
Lin brought one hand up to silence her and continued, “Asami, before your father met Yasuko, he and I were... Well,” she shrugged. “But believe me, your mother was the love of his life. He told me so himself.”
Tears would've broken through Asami’s eyes at the mention of her father but thankfully she was smiling. Although she deeply missed him, she discovered happiness in the idea of connecting with someone else with whom she could reminisce about her father's memories.
“I’m sorry, Asami,” Lin said. “Your father was a wonderful man.”
“This took a weird turn,” Toph mumbled.
“Mom!” Su nudged her mother.
“He made his mistakes but, there was so much good in that man.”
Iroh was now gently rubbing Asami’s back as she nodded along.
“And Su,” she said, turning to her sister, “you recognize the handwriting because I saved all of Hiroshi’s notes from school for you. He was a brilliant student and I wanted that for you. Whatever little you did end up studying were all his brush strokes.”
Suyin smiled and squeezed her sister's arm affectionately. Korra placed the letter back in front of Lin and gave her a smile too.
“It’s good to remember the dead,” the Avatar said. “Grief is the expression of love in the face of loss; as we shed tears for what is gone, it's equally important to commemorate the love that once was..”
“I miss the less spiritual Korra,” Toph scoffed.
Asami chuckled out loud though. "Yes, Korra, that's right. If you're ever up for it, Chief, I would love to learn more about your time with dad during his school days."
"You can come talk to me anytime," she smiled.
As if to annihilate the saccharine fest in the room, Toph groaned. "I was hoping this would've been a scandalous letter from your mafia boyfriend from back in the day." Everyone gasped, as the blind woman continued, “Because I already told Zuko about your reunion with that firebending menace."
"What—”
Lin cheeks were pinker than a dragon bird spirit.
"That's why I brought this letter to you first," she said, turning towards Suyin. "You don't want this letter getting in her current boyfriend's hands. I hear he's the jealous type."
Now all Vaatu broke lose and getting the name out of Lin’s lips. She couldn't be in Republic City soon enough.

Hi, I just read your Farmer Lin AU and all I can is *chef's kiss*. I just want to ask, how would Toph find out or realize that Lin is her daughter? Would Toph go bazooka on Kanto? (that would be epic)
Anyway, hope you have a great day po :)
Hello, anon~
AHHH OMG, a fellow Filo fan 😊🥹😭 You made me extra happy! Thanks for liking the Farmer AU~ If you’re interested, we can chat more about it. Only if you want to, of course. Feel free to send me asks here anytime.. ANYWAY...
Toph met Lin three times 1st encounter: In the streets of Ba Sing Se, Lin, who was about 5 years old, was out with her babysitter. She accidentally bumped into the esteemed Chief of Police of Republic City. Toph, a little annoyed, reached out to the child but felt an unexplainable connection when she touched her. Before Toph could react, the babysitter apologized and quickly hurried off with Lin. 2nd encounter: At a recognition event in Republic City for the top contributors/businesses in the city, Lin, the youngest recipient, was getting an award. Toph noticed Lin during a journalist's interview and felt drawn to her. She wanted to approach Lin, but Suyin interrupted her. 3rd encounter: At Air Temple Island, Toph had just finished her mandatory healing/tea time with Katara when Tenzin arrived with Lin. Tenzin wanted his parents to meet his girlfriend. This gave Toph a chance to be close to Lin again. That familiar feeling returned when she touched her and heard her heartbeat. She couldn't shake the feeling that Lin was her daughter. Lin was a little confused by Toph's behavior but didn't react as the blind Chief let go of her. As Aang led Tenzin to another room, Katara asked, "What was that all about?" Toph simply said, "She's my daughter." Katara tried to reason with Toph, "Toph, why do you think that?" Toph shook her head, "I can't explain it. It's just that "feeling."" Katara sighed, understanding Toph's instincts, and said, "Go home and get some rest." Toph hesitated, then asked, "Can you gather some info about the young farmer for me?" Katara looked at her friend and, after a moment, nodded. "I will." The meeting went well overall, except for the sense of interrogation Lin felt from Katara's personal questions. Tenzin apologized for his mom's behavior, but Lin shrugged it off, understanding that Katara was being protective. She reasoned that Katara was just being a mom, considering Tenzin is one of the Avatar's children and the only airbender among them. Meanwhile, Aang noticed something was off and asked Katara what was going on. Katara then confessed everything to him, explaining Toph's suspicions and her request to gather information about Lin. When Katara told Toph everything she knew about Lin, Toph became more convinced that Lin was her daughter. She only needed proof, so she sent someone to investigate Lin's house. The other farmers and workers, including Lin, noticed the suspicious person hanging around for a few days. Two of them decided to stay overnight to keep watch. One night, Kanto called Lin and heard voices in the background. He angrily questioned her, but Lin explained the situation. He hung up and, hours later, arrived at the farm. The next day, Kanto sensed the suspicious person nearby and almost caught him with his knives, but the intruder escaped using metal cables. He had a bad feeling about it. The day he had feared for decades finally arrived—Toph standing right in front of him. Lin was taken aback by the sudden visit from the Chief of Police. Just as she was about to speak, Toph launched an attack on her father. Kanto swiftly dodged Toph's strikes and countered with throwing knives he had at the ready. Toph then distracted him, saying, "Aren't you going to use your fire today?" It caught him off guard, and Toph seized the opportunity, hurling a massive boulder of rock at him. Lin was bewildered by the chaos unfolding, but when she saw her father about to be crushed, she rushed to his side. Before she knew it, a wall of earth had risen up in front of them.
So that's how the reunion played out! I hope you enjoyed it. It was also when Lin discovered she's an earthbender, just like the blind Chief of Police.

So Suyin decided to do an earthquake drill and everyone had to go to their assigned spots and then listen to the regulatory speech.
- Huan approached his aunt to tell her something and only ended up falling asleep on her back.
- Opal stays next to Cheng because that's what she always does in drills (and falls asleep too)
- Lin will kill her sister for making her wear ridiculous pajamas and then forcing her out.
- Cheng only ✨exists✨ is miraculously standing
💤
(Names for the ship I plan to launch: Iron Chef and ChenLin, thanks for supporting my dream)

Baatar Sr. adopts Asami AU for @thatoneguy56fanfic
In spite of their chef’s best efforts the girl—young woman, he supposed—only picked at her food. A small bite of fish here. A single sliver of purple sea onion. She tucked each one into her red-lipped mouth as if putting marbles back in a sack after playtime. Not an ounce of pleasure on her face. Baatar found his eyes drawn to her again and again in the same way one might watch the aftermath of a head-on collision. Asami Sato, both body and ambulance.
“She’s your daughter’s age,” Suyin teased as soon as they were alone.
“It’s not funny,” he replied. An uncharacteristic disagreement. “Spirits, Su, can you imagine? Opal said they’d only just reconciled.”
The laughter in his wife’s face faded as she turned away. “No, I can’t,” she said. “But I do know something about not having a father.”
Baatar sucked in a breath. He’d walked right into that one. “I’m sorry, darling,” he said, pulling her close. Suyin slotted against him, so warm and familiar. Her delicate breath tickled his neck. “It’s not a comparison. I only wish we could do more than give her somewhere to visit.”
“Because we don’t have our hands full with Baatar and Kuvira right now?”
“Because Baatar and Kuvira are the reason Asami doesn’t have a father.”
Su had nothing to say to that.
The next day Baatar began his project. “Excuse me, Asami?” he asked after breakfast. “I wonder if you could lend me a hand?”
Her eyes met his, hollow. “What do you need?”
What Baatar needed took most of the morning. He hadn’t really required a second person to help him move his chalkboard from one side of his workshop to another where the light might be better, but in the end it was nice to have a capable set of hands to balance and measure and mark on the wall. Asami proved swift and efficient. Once the final screws were screwed and they were both thoroughly covered in white chalk dust Baatar asked her if she might review his plans for an expansion of Zaofu’s opera house later on. As a favor. Asami said yes.
They continued like that the rest of the week. Every day Baatar created a project for which he might need the assistance of a fellow engineer. Some were items on his long to-do list; many he simply made up. And every day Asami agreed to help, and spent anywhere from an hour to half the day working on whatever it was he’d decided needed doing. At first Asami mostly took instruction. But as time passed Baatar started to press her for her own ideas. Did she think the lift should be hydraulic or not? Which way should the road cut? Had she come across a better material for the coating in her own work? To these questions he also started adding the odd bit of fatherly advice or occasional terrible pun. It took three days for Asami to laugh at one of his jokes, but eventually she did. And Baatar found that not only were her ideas often good and not at all what he would have done, but that he got more done that week than he had in the whole two months prior.
“I’ve missed this,” he said one afternoon as Asami tightened the lug nuts on the last tire of the new heavy duty motorized garden wagon he’d decided the estate somehow needed. Hu Meng was getting old, and while they could simply hire another gardener he’d never much liked changes in staff.
For a long time Asami didn’t say anything. Sweat dripped down from her hairline into her tank top as she strained against the wrench. But finally Baatar heard it, just a whisper. “Me, too.”
That night he talked to Suyin again. What was one more child after all? With Opal moving in with Bolin they even had a spare bedroom.
“It doesn’t have to be forever,” he said. “Just until she finds her feet again.”
Su gave him a knowing smile. “Sure, Dad,” she said.

I'm curious, how would Lin interact around Kuvira's biological parents if they ever were to meet? How would they run into them?
Tell me about a time when Lin and Kuvira went on a date together and everything went so wrong it ended up going right. What would that look like?
Hmmm, I can definitely see the potential for drama here. I'm going to incorporate what we know about Kuvira and her biological parents from Ruins of the Empire. So, let's say that Suyin kept tabs on Kuvira’s parents' whereabouts after they left her in Zaofu, and although they never went back to check on their daughter, Su kept an eye on them for the unlikely scenario they returned to reclaim their daughter after all these years. Kuvira wasn’t aware of this, but Lin was given the information once Su found out about their relationship because their last known location was in a small village bordering Republic City. Lin thought Kuvira deserved to know this, prompting a difficult and emotional conversation. Kuvira, undertandingly bewildered upon hearing about her parents in her adult years, wavered between the curiosity to know about them and the bitterness and pain of having been left behind for so many years. After weeks of soul searching, they came up with a plan that would spare Kuvira the shock of meeting her parents after decades of abandonment. Lin agreed to go to the village to meet them and find out what kind of people they were now. To say the experience was excruciatingly awkward is an understatement: Kuvira’s parents didn't expect to see the Republic City Chief of Police at their doorstep and much less to find out that the six year old daughter they left in Zaofu was now a esteemed member of the force, but the father claimed they wanted nothing to do with her and that they had cut her off their lives that fateful day she was given to Su to mentor. On her way out, in her characteristic blunt demeanor, Lin spoke her mind (saying, among other things, "you don't deserve her" and "she has people who love her now"), as she left the house, visibly disgusted. Suddenly, Lin felt a tug on her shoulder, and when she turned around, she realized it was Kuvira’s mother. The woman looked at her tearfully as she extended an envelope to her. "I never agreed to what he did," she muttered, "but I was injured and couldn’t do anything. I know she won't forgive me, but I want her to know that."
Later that night in Republic City, Lin stood awake as she consoled Kuvira, as they made plans to return to the village one day.
"Whatever you choose, I'll be there with you every step of the way," promised Lin vehemently she hugged a sobbing Kuvira.
(Okay, who's peeling onions around here? Cut it out! 😭)
Okay, now on to the date. So let's say that after waiting months for a spot to be available in Republic City's trendiest restaurant, Kuvira finally managed to make reservations for date night. That night, everything seemed to go as planned: Lin loved the flower arrangement she sent to her office and showed enthusiasm for the jazz recital that would follow the dinner. But Kuvira felt as if a bucket of iced water fell over her when she saw the notice being posted on the restaurant door. Half of the kitchen staff fell ill so they wouldn't be able to open. Kuvira couldn't hide her disappointment and declared date night was ruined. One of the junior chefs who hadn't fallen sick overheard her and recognized the Chief. His father always told the story of how a then sergeant Beifong stopped the Shadowhawks Triad, who ran an extortion racket on their neighborhood. He approached Kuvira and offered to cook them a delicious homemade meal at his family's restaurant to make up for the disappointment. Despite Kuvira's hesitation, they accepted. What the place lacked in luxury and fame, it made up with the delicious food and the warmth of the people. After that experience, the modest restaurant became a favorite among the force, and for Lin and Kuvira, that date night became one of their most memorable to date.
Oops, these answers ended up running longer than I initially expected, but I hope you have enjoyed them. 😊
