Imagine the drama!
Personally I think it would be really goddamn awesome (Highly unlikely in canon but used in an AU) if there was a mega twist that the Recoms’ Na’vi sources were the kids from Grace’s school.
You want those demons dead so badly, Neytiri?
What if one was Sylwanin’s son?
Contemplate that.

Why does he have her vibe...?

Stxeli: I promise
Hellooooooo~!! Here is a new chapter of my stxeli series! Hope you all like this one! enjoy~!!
Stxeli series
------------------
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“As a tsahik, you are busy every day sa’nok, what time would you have for my baby sister?” Little Neytiri asks as she narrows her eyes, placing her hands on her hips. Mo’at doing the same stance, “and as a warrior in training, you have lessons to attend to ma’ite. Being with your teacher and helping with the clan, what spare time do you have with stxeli?”.
Eytukan couldnt help but let out a slow chuckle. They are at it again, his mate and child fighting over who can have stxeli for the day. It has become a daily thing, see who wins over stxeli. The baby in question was playing with some toys he carved for her, oblivious that her mother and sister are arguing over her.
But eytukan decides to take matters in his own hands. He has a rare free day today, why not have a nice father-daughter day? Liking the idea, he grabs stxlie in his arms, and quietly tells his family he will take the baby for the day. But he doesnt think mo’at or neytiri heard him as they continue to argue.
Tumblr media
Walking around with stxeli in his arms, he lets her see their village, something the baby will never get tired of. Many young children say hello to him and his daughter, and he happily greets back. There is a lot they can do, but what exactly? She is fed and cleaned, so for the meantime he won't have to worry about that.
“Aaaaababababa!!” Stxeli squeals happily, her chubby legs kicking in the air. Lately she has been getting more physically active. She can crawl, but hopefully, she will walk too. “I think I know exactly where to go,” Eytukan says. Stxeli looks up at him with her gummy smile, already showing two little white peaks growing. Her teeth are also coming too.
They had her for a few months now, and already stxeli is growing up right before their eyes. Putting her on a carrying sling on his back, he sets out to a littler river not too far from the village. A place where children are often taken to learn the basics of fishing. And to enjoy fresh water.
“Abaaaa?” Stxeli calls out, curious where her father is taking her. Smiling softly, he answers her, “you will have fun where I am taking you, perfect to play around”.
Tumblr media
The waters were calm and it wasn't that deep, perfect for stxeli to dip her little toes. Carefully bending down into the river, where it reaches up to his ankles, eytukan gently puts down his child. Firmly get gently holding her hands up as she laughs and giggles at the texture on her feet.
Laughter fills the area, the child's innocent giggles eytukan’s ears. Pleased and happy that his daughter was enjoying the water. Splashing water around as she kicks around. Even jumping at times. Her smile is ever so contagious.
Chuckling, eytukan sways her a bit, “alright lets try it, ready ma’ite?” he asks. Stxeli coos as if to answer her father. So, slowly, eytukan guide her step by step. Making sure the water doesn't slip her stance. “There you go, soon you will learn to walk and run. I am sure you will most likely hide behind our backs and scare us half to death” eytukan says while chuckling at his imaginary future.
The more steps stxlie took, the more confident she got, taking bigger eager steps. “Easy my child, why in such a hurry?” he wonders while easily keeping up pace. Stxeli only said some baby words to answer him, still gripping tightly on his fingers.
And to his surprise, stxeli took one big step and letting go of his grip. Was this the moment?
No, one step and she fell on her bum against a rock.
Not liking the stinging pain, with trembling lips, stxeli cries. Eytukan was quick to pick her up and rubs her little bum to soothe away the pain. “Sssshhh my young stxeli, no need to cry. It happens my child. Accidents happen and we learn from them” he softly whispers to her little round ear.
Gently bouncing her on his arm, her little cries died down as she sniffs away her tears. Eytukan wipes away his daughter’s remaining tears and smiles, “see? All better. Want to try again?”. Stxeli was quick to shake her head in protest.  Eytukan accepts her choice and placed her on his lap as he sits near the river.
Stxeli explores his giant hands, tracing his hand wrinkles and band armor. Her soft coos of wonder bring warmth to his heart. He lets her wonder more and she stumbles upon his songchord. The na’vi remembers how stxeli has taken a liking to mo’ats and neytiri’s songchords. Of course stxeli has her own, but it is safely tucked away back at their home.
So, he takes out his song chord and swings it gently across stxeli’s face as she giggles, her hands chasing it. “You love my songchord don't you? One day, you will have your own, perhaps longer than mine. Long and beautiful, to sing and tell your story too” he tells her. Stxlie’s giggles are truly something. Her innocence and cheerfulness tug at eytukans heart. Every day he loves his child more and more.
“Here, this is my story” giving his songchord to stxlie, he begins to tell of his beginning to now.
Tumblr media
After a nice lunch of fruit, which is what stxeli seems to only eat. Eytukan takes her further down the river, where it leads to a little pond. Water seems to be an element stxeli has come to enjoy. Eytukan wouldn't be surprised if his child learns to swim before walking. But as they made their way, there were sounds coming from the forage in the forest. Sounds of leaves being moved, twigs break.
He was quick to notice how silent the forest had become around them. Which can only mean one thing.
A predator is near. Very near.
And just like nothing, a growl was heard from his left, eytukan dodged it effortlessly. He grabbed his hunting knife as he held his child tightly. Stxeli began to whimper in fear.
Taking a good look at what tried to attack him, it was a viper wolf. Not good. They always hunt in packs. Meaning there is more he doesn't see. Not waiting for the viper wolf to make its move, eytukan ran quickly. And like a trigger, many more viper wolves appeared from their hiding
spots.
This only made stxeli scream and cries out of fear. He would try to calm her, but right now her safety is his priority.
If he could just-
Eytukan couldn't go farther as another viper wolf stood in his way. He can't fight with his child in his arms. The animal releases a mocking laughter, ready to lunge at the father. But eytukan was faster. Jumping high, he reaches for a vine and begins to climb.
Stxeli was crying her little soul out, eyes puffy and cant seem to stop. Once eytukan reached high enough, he found a small nook in a tree. Perfect. Quickly he grabs giant leaves and makes a cushion for stxeli.
“Ssshhh ma’ite. I'm here, I won't let anything hurt you” eytukan promises. Gently rocking his daughter to soothe her fears. “See? We are safe, come now. I believe it is time for you to nap” he coos.
Hopefully she sleeps very soon, eytukan knows those viper wolves will find them. He took a wrong turn and now they are farther away from the village. He needs to drive them far away before he could proceed heading back. And there is only so much daylight left. He needs to think fast.
So he takes his songchord out and sways it in a hypnotizing way. Stxeli follows his songchord, her eyes moving side to side.
Hearing her fathers soft voice and his melody, stxeli closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep.
Good.
Gently he places her in the nook of the tree, adding more leaves for her head, cover and hiding the entrance as a disguise. Looking at his songchord, eytukan places it in stxelis chubby little hand to which she grabs it tightly in her sleep.
Making sure he closes it well, he whispers a prayer.
“Great mother Eywa, please do not let the dangers reach my daughter. Protect as I will guide the viper wolves back to you”
And as if on cue, he can hear the distant mocking laughter of the pack. A plan began to form, moving away from where he hid stxeli, he yanks off a thick branch, and makes a weapon out of it.
Tumblr media
Viper wolves are vicious creatures where numbers are important. Attacking as one, will they get what they want equally. A clear strategy is there and it always works be it attacking a group, or a large prey.
But clearly they underestimate the mighty olo’eyktan.
One by one the viper wolves were taken down. Each slayed, and numbers dwindled in the pack.
Eytukan roared out as he brought the viper wolves back to their great mother. With his makeshift spear, tough woof and a sharp stone in front, he pierces the animals in the vital parts of their body.
What remained of the pack backed away and left. No longer seeing the worth of losing blood over one man. So they leave, running back to where they came from. And eytukan cries out his victory, raising his spear out to Eywa.
Falling to his knees, fresh blood paint on his hands and body, he prays to the animals he had to end. And to hope they make a safe travel when they meet with Eywa.
Tumblr media
Atokirina surrounded the little nook where eytukan placed stxeli, quickly climbing to reach her. Mentally slapping himself, who knows how much time has passed, it was dark and he wasnt sure how long he was knocked out.
However, he was forever grateful to see his precious daughter being protected by the great mother. Removing the leaves that hid her well, he looks inside.
Stxeli was wide awake, with his songchord in hand and a little atokirina floating playfully around her. Her contagious giggles melted away his worries. Noticing him, stxeli reaches out for him.
“Aba!” she calls out. Complying to her demand, he grabs her and holds her in his arms. Letting out groans of worry and relief. How close was he to losing another daughter. Gently stroking her soft little head, taking in her scent, its her. Stxeli is with him, alive and well.
“Thank you great mother, I am forever grateful to you” he says to the atokirina.
Eytakan was tired but he had to take stxeli back to the village before more danger lurks. So steadily, he makes it back. And does he have a story to tell. It might give mo’at a fightful scare, and probably a lecture. But it will be worth it. Any fight is worth it. All to keep his children safe.
And so, after arriving safely back to the village. Eytukan was right. Mo’at wouldn't stop lecturing him as she tended to his bloody wounds, shoving medicine in his scares and mouth. And neytiri wasn't too far off either. Giving her piece of mind to him too.
Yet after all that, he still clinged on to stxeli, who in return didn't want to be apart from him and happily clinged on to him too. Her little head always listening to his heart beat, while chewing on his songchord beads.
So, in the fit of the moment, he held stxeli up, where they eyes could meet. A little drool escaped the baby’s mouth, but she was happy either way. Cooing at her father, her little fingers tickling his nose. So, placing his forehead against her smaller head, eytukan speaks.
“As long I am alive ma’stxeli te taksha mo’at ite, I promise you I will protect you. To make sure no harm ever comes to you. So please, smile, laugh, live at your best. Your happiness is my greatest gift. I love you forever. That is my vow. My promise”.

Something I think about when I'm sad:
Jake had already lost his brother and was in cryosleep on the way to Pandora.
Meanwhile, Neytiri watches her sister get shot and killed right in front of her, not knowing the love of her life is already on his way.

tw for blood, death, school shooting, seizure
Grace could help but beam as the children continued to talk in full, English sentences, reading off her board with her. Writing was not a used tool for the Na’vi to use, ideograms mostly were what the Na’vi used if they had to carve it into something but…everything that they knew was oral. From stories, play to even the songcords they had tucked into their loincloths.
Yet, they picked up not only English but its written language as well. They had wondered why humans wrote stuff down and while it was easy to explain the practical use, she knew it wasn’t a skill they’d use in their own lives but, she hoped it would be useful later on with their interactions with Sky people.
She had given them a notebook and pencil, showing them how to sharpen the end to keep the graphite going, to write down an story or fragment of their day that they were happy or proud of, or in some cases; sad about. They never really took them back to Hometree; the books were too unfamiliar for the parents to like, nor did they seem to like the ‘alien scriptures’ that they produced. But she had always enjoyed letting them spend time scribbling away as they talked as it gave her an opening to each of their lives.
One book still lay on the shelf, gathering dust at this point.
A week had gone by, Grace had noticed Sylwanin hadn’t shown up. A growing concern but she had hoped the girl would come down soon so they could at least talk. The fact that Neytiri was still in the crowd of the seven faces of today was a good sign.
“Wonderful, you’re such good readers. At this rate, I’ll run out of material to teach you” She praised, earning a few happy giggles. “Neytiri, is there a book of interest you would like to read out to the class?” She gestured to the few books set out on the table by another child’s feet. Anuk, who happily sat on the desk though Grace didn’t try to ask him to sit in a chair; he was comfortable and would no doubt move when he wanted to. He was fiddling with the book closest to him with some fondness; loving the bright colors of The Lorax.
Neytiri’s head turned to her, her eyes wide though clearly distracted by the blankness that came with her glance to her and then down to the books. “<What did you say>?” She asked, not trying for English.
Grace’s smile dimmed a little, a little disheartened at the girl’s demeanor. “Would you like to choose a book to read out?” She asked, “Or should I ask another?”
The sixteen year old’s eyes flickered to the books set out for a moment in a moment of debate before answering. “<Someone else, please.>”
Grace nodded though she could see Tsu’tey in the corner of her eye also watching Neytiri with some concern. Which meant this wasn’t new. She gently pulled a book to seven year old Nekawn and started her off to read out loud to the rest of the class. Once most were occupied, Grace made her move and gestured for Neytiri to follow.
Neytiri sighed though rose to her feet, followed with her to the corner, and took a seat. Neytiri sat as well, her tail swishing against the floorboards quietly but didn’t quite meet her eye.
“<Is everything alright?>” Grace asked.
Neytiri’s eyes flickered at the window again, her ears twitching with unease. “<I’m sorry. I’m distracted.>”
“<Is it something you can talk to me about?>,” Grace asked with a lean forward, “<I would like to help if I can.>”
Neytiri’s eyes flicked between her and the door, “<I don’t know… you’re with them, after all,>” Her tone turned a little bitter, her lips tightly pursed.
Grace’s ears lowered in response, her tail pausing a moment though she felt a personal bite there that she hadn’t expected from Neytiri of all people. She couldn’t deny; she was impressed by both Neytiri and Sylwanin’s brightness and aptitude to learn and the latter was eager to share her knowledge. Neytiri hadn’t tried to see her as a sky person anymore in the ten years she had worked with her here. They called her sa’nok, a title she wore with pride. This disregard…
It hurt.
Her ears straightened up as she took a heavy sigh. “<You’re angry>.” She stated. “<but that does not mean I will accept any disrespect, Neytiri. You don’t have to talk to me about what’s bothering you but don’t make judgments upon me on the basis of my origins>” Grace spoke, turning a little firm though Neytiri’s ears flickered down a little under her hard look.
“<I’m sorry, Sa’nok. I’m…just so angry. There’s so much damage your people are doing to our world.>”
Grace nodded, allowing herself to loosen up, and gently put her hand on Neytiri’s shoulder. “<The clear cutting>”
Neytiri nodded, “<Why must your people do this to our world?>” She met her eyes again, yellow eyes brimming with tears.
Grace pondered her question carefully, sitting back and resting her hands on her knees, a little more aware that the other children were listening in.
“Sky people’s own world no longer has… a way to support self. Our… distant ancestors didn’t care for the world that…impacted what the sky people have today. It forced them to rely on non-renewable minerals like metals to simply survive.  Without our planet to support their needs, they look for it elsewhere. For a time, they settled to other moons and asteroids that were close but… then that ran out.”
Grace rose to her feet, well aware of the attention to this turn of the topic that she could see interested most of the older ones, Tsu’tey especially. She moved to the model solar system, gently pushing it around to spin lightly. “your world is the next habitual planet the sky people could reach safely. For them, it was a world of salvation; a glimmer of hope that they could find a way to bring resources back to keep surviving.”
“<How much more must they take?>” Neytiri asked, wide-eyed, “<They cannot keep taking>”
Grace sighed though nodded, “<I know it’s harsh but the cruel nature of the sky people’s world is that…our ancestors killed our natural world long before my own grandmother was born. It’s to a point that…humans on earth cannot survive without the technology; our reliance is survival. Like the masks, we have to breathe here.>”
“<They are desperate>” Tsu’tey spoke, “<taking and taking like a starving palulukan that is never satisfied>” He wasn’t pleased but he made a good analogy for it.
“<That’s one way to put it, yes>” Grace sighed. “<it’s…complicated in some ways but… I think it’s best I leave that for another day.>”
“<Sylwanin’s been tracking the machines cutting the forest this last week, should we worry about that?>” Neytiri asked.
Grace looked to Neytiri for a moment though nodded, “<Sky people will not tolerate the destruction of their technology. It’s…hard to get here and they will protect it with their weapons and pursue anyone with a hand in its destruction.” That was a real warning that Grace gave, feeling unnerved to even say it but… if Sylwanin was getting upset; she had to make sure the girl didn’t think to try and tackle this herself.
Neytiri’s eyes flickered to the window again, “<I will talk to Sylwanin later. She will need to know.”
With that, Grace lumbered back to the desks, giving Nekawn a big smile, and took the book off her. “You read very well, Nekawn.” She praised, the girl lighting up happily with her words. “You know, you’re getting better than even a sky person child at your age too.”
A few giggles echoed around, “Really?”
“Really.” Grace nodded, “Which is why… I think it’ll be soon enough time for us to perhaps move onto more complex reading material for you” She knew Neytiri and Sylwanin were already onto the more adult-book type reading level but a good portion of these children weren’t. They loved the pictures much which was understandable.
“More reading?” Anuk asked, “How many stories are there?”
Grace laughed softly, “Billions.”
A few gasps echoed at the huge number that the younger ones couldn’t count, but they knew it was big.
Neytep said, “That’s so many, Sa’nok!” with a light tone, almost amazed.
“Indeed, but the stories we sky people tell can be…fact. Like our environment; information to pass on or completely made up in our minds, like the Lorax, for entertainment.” She gestured to the book Anuk had, “Some more made-up stuff has a lot more cultural and human mythology that… I can explain. Or, I could leave more books for you to read while I’m not here if you want to know. There might be pictures.”
The children looked to each other in excitement. Grace reached for her data pad to make an order for the team to make the print-outs from the digital versions like they had last time, but her attention lifted as she heard distant metallic whirls before she could touch the pad. Her ears twitched towards the sound with a frown.
But within a moment, everything changed as Sylwanin seem to burst through the doorway, and for a moment, all Grace could see was her painted-up face, eyes wide and terrified before there was a spurt of red that suddenly spurted out from her chest.
Grace gasped, her mind suddenly putting together the sounds of AMP suits before the rain of metal began to splinter through the wooden walls.
“Out! OUT!”  She dove forwards, catching Neytiri before she could go to her sister, grabbing Tsu’tey by the arm as he too made a dive at her. “<No, help me get the children out!>”
“<She’s hurt—>“
“<She’s dead. You’re not.>” Grace didn’t allow either of them to argue, tossing Nekwan into Tsu’ety’s arms and caving after a heartbeat as the children screamed as more wood shattered around them, he grabbed Marali and dove from the building’s window and out.
Anuk was on the floor, gone too but Grace couldn’t bare the dead much thought as she pulled the remaining children with her, trying to aid in their escape. Some jumped willingly out with a few scrapes but Grace only counted two dead. Too many.
“<NO!>” Neytiri fought but Grace hissed out, forcing her out the window with a push despite the girl’s enraged sounds that masked her grief and terror but Grace wasn’t an idiot to let her try; not when there was so much gun fire without mercy. She would not lose another bright soul to whatever bullshit was happening.
Not on her watch.
Neytep was the last as she grabbed the girl as the soldiers reached the doorframe, stepping over Sylwanin before the click of the gun echoed again before she jumped as the horrible echo of bullets helped to pulverize the wooden frame. Feeling the sharp splinters in the backs of her legs as she dove.
Neytep crying out before a white-hot shot of pain raged through her back and through, but the solid ground speared away her thought of that, pushing the air out of her lungs and her legs immediately ached but her body was built to take the brunt, rolling naturally though Neytep struggled in her arms but Grace felt the strength beyond the pain to push up off the ground, the girl under one arm and grabbed Neytiri’s arm as she made an attempt back, pulling her with her into the treeline
“<We can’t leave her!>”
“<If you go in, you’ll join her with Eywa. She’ll be recovered by the clan but there’s too many of them now.>”
“<I hate you!>” Neytiri hissed but Grace was glad the girl stopped fighting her, pulling her arm free but began to lead the way onward at a brisk pace. It wasn’t until Neytep whimpered again that Grace tried to speed up—she had to get te girl to Mo’at. She didn’t know how knowledgeable she was about bullet wounds but she hoped the girl would be saved.
“<I will take her.>” Neytiri’s arms snaked around the girl, pulling the eleven year old from her arms, and more or less vanished into the treeline without a backward glance.
Grace hissed out at the loss of the weight, staggering even as now, she felt the growing rise of dizziness, the pain flaring up through her middle without the weight pressing against her middle. Her hands were left free to press against the pain but, to her growing horror, she could feel the warmth of blood seemingly seep through but didn’t dare glance down.
Exit wound.
“Fuck.” Grace sucked in a shallow breath, now tasting the rise of iron in her throat but she struggled to follow… the world becoming hazy with greens and by gut instinct, she knew that without an Omatikaya child to guide her, she couldn’t make it to Hometree.
Her foot slid, sending her catering to the floor with a heavy, winding grunt of pain that seemed to seize through her entire body…. Engulfing her world in white agony and leaving her breathless. White and black dots swirled through her vision before the fires raged down.
Grace coughed, gagging up a wash of red past her lips, idly feeling its heat seep down her chin as her vision clouded with tears, as the pain sharpened up like a twist of hot metal in her gut but she blinked them away as she sucked in another painful breath. Her eyes hazily noticed the white tendrils above her.
Her eyes traveled further, more tendrils that seemed to go as far as her eye could see…
Utral Aymokriyä
Tree of Voices.
Another cough, another rise of red down her chin but Grace found it harder to breathe, sucking in lighter breaths now, her head resting back against the near root of the tree, not even aware how close her queue was to a white tendril that drifted close towards her, favoring towards body heat.
Her fingers slacked from the wound, idly watching the moving motions of the tree's tendrils. Why wasn’t she unlinking from her avatar?
“<Graceaugustine?>” Mo’at’s voice was sudden, distant but alarmed nonetheless.
Grace didn’t have the strength to jump, groaning out as her body tensed instead, her eyes pricking with tears but she felt her ears twitch as Mo’at seemed to appear beside her; her hand much warmer than she expected as she grasped her placid wrist to examine the wound.
“<You’re shot>” Her voice was careful but Grace was sure there was a deeper emotion in the woman’s voice…but she could barely hang onto her words.
Grace struggled to answer, her breath already soft pants, “<can’….catch my breath..>” she complained…”<…RDA….fired through walls… I tried …tried to…get them out…>” Her voice slurred, coughing again but she couldn’t feel anything shift as she wheezed in for air.
“<Grace?>”
“<c-can’t breath…>” Grace could feel her head spin, gasping like a fish but she felt the rise of panic build as she tried to draw in breath. “Can’t…can’t…” the white tree tendril caught the end of her queue which naturally wrapped around the white tendril, her mind filling with soft whispers but that didn’t douse the pain or the panic. Her eyes hazily focused to Mo’at in confusion at the sounds but her form seemed to fizzle away into a bright white tunnel that seemed to flicker with color…
Her body went slack, and the bleeding from her wounds came to a stop as the avatar succumbed to her injuries.
“<Grace!”>
   -
Back at Hells gate, Grace’s human body jolted, arching up with a heavy thump against the coffin-like lid before her body seized up. The heart monitors changing from a calm sleeping beat of fourth-six BPM to a sudden hundred and ticking higher.
The sudden change rang an alarm, kicking the near link technicians into action to the link bed.
“She’s seizing.” The first male technician spoke, lifting the lid quickly.
“No shit,” The woman spoke, hurriedly lifting the second frame before Grace could get tangled in it. “Don’t hold her down; just keep her from rolling. Someone call a med-team!”
It took a few minutes before Grace’s seizure tapered off, the medical team speeding in just as the heart monitor began to rapidly drop.
“Shit, she’s coding.”
Thankfully, the medical team went straight into action, waving away the unnecessary people to create space as they began to perform CPR as a defibrillator began to warm up…
Max Patel watched in fear as Grace was shocked, the only relief was the rising beeps that followed the second shock before the teams loaded her onto the gurney and out.
“Bridges, Send word for all avatars to return to their bed and unlink and run an entire systems check” he ordered, taking control of the shaken silence. “Someone, download all of Link 4’s data and send it straight to my monitor. Jenks, get someone to clean out Link 4’s padding and someone, find out where Grace’s avatar was last seen.”
Only something terrible could have happened to gage that response but he hoped that they had an answer for this sudden and unexpected mess and that Grace would be up on her feet soon enough.
as of 06/06/23, this post was edited and rewritten, the other posts are soon to follow
not sure how involved i’ll be for this AU, it’s an originally for a BG Variant of Grace but i loved this concept so i thought i’d write out  few of her drabbles, if you like her and this AU, i’ll make a masterpost for you.
Also, you can find this on AO3 as well

You and Neytiri had always been close, closer than anyone else was to her. You had met through her sister, Sylwanin, at a young age; younger than the age to bond with an Ikran but old enough to join the warriors during hunts. Which is what you grew to be, a warrior for the clan; a fierce fighter for your people, a strong protector for your family, but a kind soul to the children of the clan, a loving teacher to those who have yet to learn.
Maybe that’s what pulled Jake to you. Your patience in teaching him the ways of your people, Your gentle corrections if he got something wrong, whatever it was he had grown closer to you. Gravitating towards you in any situation like a magnet to metal.
Right at this moment you were out with Jake, teaching him how to sneak through the trees without being heard and how to shoot a bow correctly; personally you preferred the bow to other weapons, it was the first weapon you had mastered as a child, so you figured you would teach Jake how to aim and shoot prey properly.
Crouching down on a branch you pulled him out of view to the sturmbeest that was leaned down at a lake, probably thirsty with its guard dropped, perfect for a swift kill. “Nefä.” Your voice was gentle, quiet for the creature not to hear you as you pulled Jakes arms up, thankfully he was taught the basics of the Na’vi language so far and understood what you meant.
Jake pulled back his bow, feeling your eyes roam over him before you reached out, lifting up his back arm holding the string and fixing where his fingers sat on the bow string, placing the arrow between his middle and pointer finger. He could feel his heart thundering from the contact, he wouldn’t deny that he had grown to care for the na’vi native; more than he should, but he wasn’t blind to how Neytiri looked at you. Or how she looked like she wanted an arrow put through his skull.
“Pey fko sturmbeest, Wìntxu sneyä pewn.” He felt a shiver shoot through his spin at your close proximity. The warmth of your breath sent goosebumps along his skin, a warmth that lit his heart aflame with the rhythm of a drum. He closed one of his eyes and looked down the arrow as you had instructed during his first lesson, waiting until the Sturmbeest exposed its neck.
“Lonu.” Your words reached him as soon as you were said, causing him to release the arrow. It shot through the trees, slicing its way through the air with the crafted blades on the arrow head.
Watching it disappear from eyesight until a cry of pain was heard, you could see the sturmbeest falling to the ground from the arrow going through its neck; right where its windpipe was. “Sìltsan, Jake.” You had thrown your arms around the man, who released a chuckle. “Now, to go retrieve it.”
Walking back to the clan you were talking to Jake as you entered, despite living there your whole life you never truly got over the beauty of pandora “Why do you only speak to me in Na’vi? Your english is very good.” A question he had often wondered, almost all of their conversations were in the Na’vi language.
“The more I speak to you in our language, the more you will grow used to using it.” You’re correct, the more you speak in a language the more you familiarize yourself with it. The clan knows english but rarely uses it, so with Jake here they can expand their knowledge on the english language. It was a good way for both to learn.
“It was a good hunt, Jake. Go, you still have to train with Tsu’tey.” You waved him off to the training grounds, where Tsu’tey was waiting with a glare on his face; however you were able to read him better than most. You could tell Jake was slowly growing on him.
You were pulled from your thoughts by a hand grasping your wrist and pulling you to a more secluded area, but you felt no panic. You knew whose hand it was, the feeling of her skin against yours had been engraved into your mind since you were a young age. A feeling you had missed as of lately, you had been so busy teaching Jake that you hardly got to see Neytiri.
She released your arm swirling to face you, an unreadable emotion written in the reflections of her eyes “Pelan käteng Jake?” She questioned you, like she wasn’t the one that led him here; took him in. It was her father who instructed you to teach him how to hunt, so she did know why you were with him; so why would she ask?
“Poan is ma’numeyu, Fa me pexl peyä karyu.” You answered. Yes, Jake had a tendency to flirt but it wasn't anything you haven’t grown used to. You will admit, you enjoy spending time with Jake, but he was one of your friends.
“Kem si nga tìyawn Jake?” The question caught you off guard, you never thought of Jake in anything more than a platonic way; besides your heart already belonged to another. Someone who managed to take your heart and burrow through it to cave out a home.
“Kehe.” Your response was short and to the point about your feelings for Jake, and you swore you saw something akin to relief in her eyes as she took in your words.
“Good, you are mine to love.” She had walked over, pushing hair out of your face as she held a possessive grip on your hip, as if she expected you to push her away. Instead you leaned into her embrace, heart beating full of your love for her, you knew about her mating arrangement but would give anything to be the one she mated with instead.
“I see you, Neytiri. I always have.” You came to rest your own hand over the one cupping your cheek, the moment was intimate enough that you could feel the air soften around you. You knew that if there would be one constant in your life, you would wish for it to be Neytiri.
“I see you too.” She whispered for only your ears to hear, and pressed a kiss to your lips; you now realized the emotion that was in her eye was jealousy at you spending most of your time with Jake nowadays.
If you can believe it.

More Than My Body
More Than My Body (3926 words) by AlexiHollis Chapters: 1/? Fandom: Avatar (Cameron Movies) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan & Miles "Spider" Socorro, Miles "Spider" Socorro & Jake Sully, Miles "Spider" Socorro & Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite Characters: Miles "Spider" Socorro, Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan, Jake Sully, Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite, Kiri te Suli Kireysi'ite, Lo'ak te Suli Tsyeyk'itan, Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan, Omaticaya Clan - Character Additional Tags: Spirits, Hurt/Comfort, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Family, Eywa being Eywa, Miles "Spider" Socorro Needs a Hug, Miles "Spider" Socorro-centric, Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan Lives Summary: created in collaboration with @little-box-of-autism on Tumblr/Little_BoxofAutism on Ao3 The spirit songs say that Eywa crafts spirits from words. When you sing to yourself on a walk alone in the forest, or whisper stories down by the stream, or have a soft conversation with another, she takes bits and pieces of memory and emotion to carve out a new soul, waiting for a vessel to house her creation. Together, lovers whisper words of bravery and strength, their favorite characteristics of one another and their family members, in the hopes that Eywa will take those words to craft their child. Or In another life, Spider was born to Tsu'tey and Sylwanin. This is the solution Eywa took when Sylwanin died, but Tsu'tey survived.

I am super happy to be able to collaborate with @alexihollis on this fic, I would say more (I want to say more) but honestly, I'm at a loss for words to describe just how great it's been to work with them.

1, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 18, 19, 21, 27, 33, 36, 37, 41, 44, 45, 48, 49
(The only reason I did not put any fic specific asks for this is because you have so many that I fucking adore that I can't even begin to pick out which ones to ask about 😳 perhaps tomorrow I will send another ask because my god do I love hearing from authors about their fics)
How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
I almost feel like a late bloomer, but eighteen, tbh. I only really entered "fandom" spaces in college and it spiraled from there.
5. If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?
Shoot, that's hard....I think I'd choose The Nature Of The Wind, one of my stories from the TMNT fandom, because it still gets so much love and I'm proud of the darkness I explored there.
7. When is your preferred time to write?
Whenever the spirit moves me! Seriously, I prefer to be well rested, but I've written up a storm in the dead of night, too.
8. Where do you take your inspiration from?
A whole lot of places...great fic authors (like a certain someone who sent me this ask), books I've read, stories, personal experience, family stories, art. I've been known to pillage the Bible from time to time, and Greek mythology, too. It all just melts together into a bubbling witch's brew and I fish out (what I hope are) the best bits for my writing.
12. Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Depends on the fandom...for TMNT it's Leonardo, because I love his tortured leader aesthetic and the sheer amount of trauma he puts up with is really fun. For DC it's Damian, because I have a soft spot for angsty baby murderers trying to be better.
For Avatar I'd think recom Jake, because he's such a perfect Frankenstein's monster of hunger and cruelty and pain and power. With Spider being a close second, because I love this boy and I love fucking him up.
17. Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on.
It’s insane. She’s insane. Her very existence is a mark of insanity, always has been and always will be. If she thinks too hard about what she wants to do, it will overwhelm her, and the fire and water are both getting closer. There is no time, no time.
18. Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
God, so many....I've got a whole doc for dead Avatar WIPS and more TMNT WIPs than I can count. Usually they just--weren't working? It felt too familiar, sometimes, or just wrong, or it wasn't as fun to write as I'd hoped, and being fun to write usually means fun to read (I think).
21. Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?
Well, tbh...there's this one writer who writes the most amazing, vivid, wild and fractured and lovely stories, and who writes some pretty spectacular comments, and sends me some great asks to boot! Their name might be familiar.
27. Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I'm a go-with-the-flow little bastard (gender neutral) and I probably always will be.
33. What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?
Someone told me they hoped I kept writing, both in fanfiction and in general, because I was really something, and I don't know, that just stuck with me? I want to believe it's true.
36. Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
Mommy-and-me assassination attempts.
37. What’s the funniest story you’ve written?
I wrote a nsfw story once about characters fucking while they watched the Kevin McCarthy debacle and I still think I should have gotten an award for it or something. It's you're gonna need congressional approval and you don't have the votes (it's not Hamilton fanfiction I stg, I just couldn't resist the title).
41. What’s your favourite minor character you’ve written?
Honestly changes depending on who I'm writing, heh, but right now it's definitely Sylwanin te Tskaha Mo'at'ite. She deserves so much more love and attention and I miss her even though she was technically never on screen.
44. What is the last line you wrote?
It helps that if they do look at her, all they see is her baby, that they think mother and not threat. It helps that no one bothers to consider how easily the two can overlap.
45. What spurs you on during the writing process?
The high, maybe? The fact that writing feels good and getting comments feels good and I like being able to get these thoughts out of my head and share them with so many great people.
48. What’s your favourite trope to write?
Not sure if angst/abuse/trauma/violation dressing itself up as soft fluff counts as a trope, but if it is, it fucking wins hands down. I love it when the horrors try to pretend not to be horrors and never quite get there.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?
A TMNT OT4 turtlecest future fic with immortality, bondage, and the apocalypse. It's called Casting Stones at the River by GoblinCatKC and I still love it so fucking much.

He is eventually accepted into the Omaticaya clan and becomes Neytiri's mate.
