DUDE. Imagine Mind Lanyon pulling Hyde out of the void, shivering and tangled in webs or cords or something, breathing heavily and just very clearly struggling. And he looks up at the introject as he gets to work untangling him and just brokenly asks, “What have they done to me? What have they done to me?” And Not Lanyon begrudgingly tells him, “I don’t know. But ever since you’ve been gone there’s been a heavy fog over our entire mind. There’s a gravity that there wasn’t before. Things move more slowly. They’re hard to pick up. So as much as I enjoy seeing you in chains, I can’t figure out how to fix this without bringing you back.”

But then Hyde tries to get up, and he can’t support himself. He’s been crippled. He has to focus to breathe. So if Not Lanyon wants to take him anywhere, he has to carry him.

Imagine Henry being cured eventually and it immediately revives Edward, forcing Mind Lanyon to admit they do in fact need Hyde. Or anyway, they need whatever traits he embodies.

Imagine forcing Mind Lanyon to appreciate that Hyde serves a necessary purpose in their head’s ecosystem. Imagine the whole ordeal with the Pretty surgery absolves a little bit of these guys’ deeply ingrained self hatred.

I need Mindyon to at some point face the fact that in order to be a whole person, they need Hyde. they need his support and his literal existence in order to properly function. make him SCARED. terrify him with the prospect of losing the Hyde-like qualities because if that's what happens? he can't lose Hyde, their survival depends on it. make Mindyon understand what it means to work as a unit. symbiotic relationship motherfucker. and the Pretty surgery, despite its horror, is exactly how to accomplish that.

interjecting characters that the system has a hyperfixation on sucks theres a fictive and like hes not writing this because he struggles with staying front hes not... fully introjected? hes like half way there sometimes introjection gets drawn out but hes really confused and unsure how to feel about canon or whats like real and not in terms of his own canon and its all just a really confusing mess and anytime someone thinks about his source or tries to interact with it we end up distressed and confused and its really difficult because not only is he really struggling with his connection to source (and its way too early to try source separation healthily) but also the rest of the system still wants to be able enjoy his source and like its not his fault but it sucks that like we cant enjoy it anymore and that he has to struggle like this :/ i dont think it helps hes kinda struggling to figure out which iteration(s) of himself he is because theres multiple and its all just.... a giant tangled mess and our brain is making it difficult to avoid triggering him because it wants to hyperfixate on his source
