I literally started watching RWBY explicitly because someone told me I was exactly like Blake (this was when volume 2 was wrapping up) and I connected to her so much. I have complicated feelings about Adam (ie I saw him as Blake’s abusive ex from the get go even before it was confirmed due to coincidental similarities to a real life situation and projection but retrospectively love his character and want so much more from it) and I feel great kinship with Adam fans like you because of how mishandled these two characters were

I will maintain until the day I die that Adam’s weak writing also weakened Blake’s. Like sure, who’s gonna argue against a “kill the stalker abuser ex” story (ignoring the racism with Herculean effort)…but it could’ve been so much more. Breaking cycles of abuse while recognizing the humanity in the monsters that cycle creates, not boiling down solving racism to just “kill the crazies and nicely ask your oppressors to stop,” giving Blake a moral and physical challenge to overcome that would likewise flesh out her backstory, the list goes on.

Instead he dies a pathetic hate sink’s death and she becomes arm candy. Stellar stuff, no notes 🫠

     Look! Out there in the sky: it’s a bird–no, a plane! No! It’s a–a–SUPER FULL MOON. ARGHHHHHH. That’s right, on Aug. 19, we have our 8th full moon of 2024, this one—a rare, super blue full moon—is in the liberating, forward-thinking air sign Aquarius. Even though it’s in Aquarius, the most emotionally detached sign in the zodiac, don’t expect this full moon to make you objective or indifferent to your current situation. There’s simply too much dynamic energy to think or feel that way. 

     First, this 2024 Aquarius super full moon is riding the wave of tension, frustration, confidence, and determination of the Mars-Jupiter conjunction and the Mars-Saturn square. Secondly, it also has some planetary friction, making a tense square to rabble-rouser Uranus in Taurus, which is set for a headline-making square to Mercury Rx in Leo (same day as the Mercury Cazimi!)

     These tense alignments imbue the air with feelings of friction, frustration, hecticness, restlessness and maybe a little discontent. As the moon swells towards this peak moment, so do these feelings. Full moons often bring a tidal wave of emotion (since the Moon is the celestial body of the emotions), but this Aquarius full moon, which opposes both the Sun & Mercury Rx in Leo, is cranking things up a notch.

     With Uranus in the mix, there’s a stronger-than-normal desire to break up with, break out of, or break free from something. (Because this full moon happens the SAME day as the Democratic National Convention, we’ll probably hear rhetoric revolving around freedom, liberation, and moving on from the past.) Uranus is the planet of unexpected shakeups and much-needed wake-ups; it is a disruptor, a wild card, a groundbreaker and liberator of what’s stale, stodgy, and outdated. Uranus shocks and electrifies you with insight, ideas, or a wild hair up your ass to do something—anything!—different. Sam + coping + impatience

Sam throws himself into hunting to escape his emotions. We see it in vintage SPN, particularly season 2, but it's also present when he loses the AU hunters in season 14:

DEAN: We just did three Hunts back-to-back, I-- I need some rest...We both do.

SAM: "Yeah, well, I'm leaving in ten."

Granted, none of the fam members HAVE to go with Sam on his hyperfixated hunting tour, but because they care about him and his obviously messed-up mental state, there is pressure for at least one of them to go.

The thing that's interesting here, is that Dean isn't asking NOT to go. He's ONLY pleading for rest before they go.

Sam not only goes headfirst into hunting, he's pedal-to-the-metal impatient about it.

New mindset, new results. That’s the M.O. of Mercury in Aquarius. Well, that and innovation. When the mind planet enters progressive Aquarius, our collective focus hyper-fixates on innovating, especially in technology. So you can imagine my un-surprise when I was watching the news and saw on Monday, Jan. 27, just mere hours before Mercury officially entered Aquarius and officially conjoined Pluto, it was reported that the Nvidia stock plummeted. Why? Well,��China released DeepSeek, their version of an AI chatbot; and apparently, it’s faster, better, and more energy efficient than ChatGPT.

My favorite headline from the news: “Tech stocks fall as China’s DeepSeek sparks U.S. worries about AI race”. There are soooo many Mercury in Aquarius themes in that story—news media is ruled by Mercury, too, btw—but the last bit of that title circles us back to my lede. With Mercury moving through Aquarius, the premise is simple: new mindset = new results. The U.S. now has an official AI competitor, and unless they get a new mindset (ie: innovate), they might just come in second place in this Age of Aquarius AI race.

As I wrote about in my weekly forecast, the Mercury-Pluto conjunction might “reveal some shadowy truths about power, control, wealth…” While this news about AI isn’t shadowy, it is uncloaking the truth about who now holds the power in the tech race and the decimating impact it’s having on tech stocks; in typical Mercury form, the megaphone planet is amplifying this new AI power struggle. As my second favorite news story reports: “Meta is…scrambling ‘war rooms’ of engineers to figure out how DeepSeek’s AI is beating everyone else at a fraction of the price”. Technology. Innovation. Robots. Engineers. Artificial Intelligence. Those are ALL Aquarius SEO keywords, and Mercury is lighting them up.
