In my headcanon,

Scout is a closeted gay man

He’s a boy and he wants a daddy. I’m writing this for the queers and thus will not censor the terminology. No dressing straight for your dad here. Scout is a twink (who gets a little twunky from work) and boy oh boy does he want someone hairy to put his ass in check

He objectifies women and adopts a misogynistic attitude to pass.

Reasons internalized homophobia has taken root in young Scout’s heart:

Throughout his life Scout’s has sought the attention of older men (daddy issues) and when he realized that attention could be sexual Scout fucking yearned and it scared him

He is disturbed by his fantasies of ‘submitting’* to a (preferably older) man and deeply ashamed

He feels his sexuality lowers his worth and subconsciously blames it for the reason he wasn’t good enough’ for his father (fuck’s sake Spy)

Scout resents himself for not being what he thinks a man should be

Scout has a deep need to feel validated as a man because of his absent father and low self worth

Scout is desperate to prove himself, especially to others, and him being gay does not align with a big strong man. On the contrary, it makes him feel like a woman. And Scout has to think very poorly of women or else he can’t separate himself from them

Being raised by a strong woman gave him morals and a respect for women like his mom. Strong, older, and unconditional. His mom did the traditional cooking/cleaning for her boys as much as time allowed and so Scout perceives women he wouldn’t sleep with as on par with his mom.

By hyper-sexualizing women, Scout pushes them away while protecting his image

To many, the worst thing a man can be is feminine. Femininity is defined as a weakness, and to someone who views women as sex objects, what’s more feminine than being fucked?

In a patriarchy, masculinity is defined as the opposite of womanhood. When the traditional roles or attributes of men and women are challenged, the very definition of a man is challenged.

Hence transphobia and its public preference for trans women! Of course trans men experience severe discrimination and violence. My point is that the public discourse is asking ‘what is a woman?’ rather than ‘what is a man?’ or ‘what is the difference?’

By being attracted to men, Scout perceives himself as behaving like a woman. Especially because he’s on the submissive side

Scout’s type is someone older, whose affections he has to earn, and dark hair. He likes tall and broad, but most importantly bigger than him.

Soldier and Heavy are the hardest. I think he may be more physically attracted to Soldier but overall favor Heavy because of his demeanor and lack of aggression.

TW SPOILERS FOR KPOP DEMON HUNTERS

Tell me if I'm getting a bit too insane but I was thinking about characters that, in an alternate universe, could live out the story of kpop demon hunters. As in a kpop demon hunters au.

I came upon the consensus that marvel would be a good place to start and I immediately thought of.

Rumi = Loki, Hela = Mira, Zoey = Thor.

Celine would be Odin and Bobby is Freya.

My explanation for Loki being Rumi is that they are both self despising characters. (One arguably more than another) but for a part of them of which they didn't choose as well as the parts they did. Rumi hates herself for being part demon but also hates herself for lying. Loki hates himself for many reasons but one of them that aligns with the story is his frost giant heritage. As well as his own lying. (Also I just feel enthused by the thought of a frost giant form in the "takedown" scene being revealed.)

Hela really just reminds me of Mira. In them movie it is well known among the fans and self admitted that she was the "problem child" in her family. And it's fair to assume she doesn't talk to them anymore, she seems to hold a doubt about family structures as whole and has issues with trust or insecurities related to these facts. Which Rumi uses to distract from her lies in the train scene. (Which she obviously regrets) I can see Hela as a person and character identifying with these themes. Also I see her hiding emotions like sadness or worry behind nonchalance like Mira does sometimes.

Zoey is Thor mostly because, out of the trio, Thor is just the happiest of them. He doesn't read as people pleaser to me the same way Zoey is confirmed to be but I can see him wanting the best for those around him in a way that would make him seem like he's people pleasing. He's also just funny and charismatic in a way that Zoey is. But, alike Zoey, Thor has a bite when things get intense and when situations are tough and or sad the intensity of their happiness transfers into their anger or sadness. Zoey feels happiness extremely jus as she feels sadness and anger. Anger being the most provable as seen in the many scenes where she has intense facial expressions. Sometimes more intense than Mira's.

Again this is in the perfect scenario in which they are all allowed to be more of people than warriors whilst still containing many of their main story beats in Marvel.

Celine being Odin is honestly a mercy on Odin. Celine, however not necessarily likable, is the nicest version of a parent Odin could be whilst doing the things Odin does. She urges her adoptive child to hide a key part of herself and then reinforces the thought that no one would accept Rumi while Rumi had the patterns that pointed to her demon biology. As Odin does in his own way. The way they differ is I don't really think Odin loved them, and if he did, not Loki, especially not Hela. In the scene where Celine admits she loves Rumi, it is clear she doesn't mean all of Rumi. Only the parts she views as human. Meaning she attributes all the negative traits of Rumi to her demon side despite that not being how that works. In that aspect I think her and Odin are similar. Negative traits attributed to Loki's frost giant side despite it being because of his subpar parenting and a hostile childhood environment he put Loki in.

Think of Freya as Bobby because Bobby is the embodiment of compassion for the girls in them movie. He always worries for them, always tries to make sure they're okay or well fed. Especially well hydrated. They only sing when they're ready to and not sooner or later. He even missed a two week vacation when Rumi jump started their new song premiere to rush along the golden honmoon. And he wasn't even mad. No matter the low and high point he was always caring and understanding. When the girls were talking about murdering their rival band (who were demons) he seems reluctant of the wording but ultimately supported the energy. It's even revealed his worst fear was the girls separating because he couldn't keep them together! All this I can see Freya embodying if put into the role of Bobby within this au. Within the media I've seen of her she was not biased in who she gave attention, she cared for both Loki and Thor. And if given the chance to care for Hela I think she'd try her best. She's an incredibly supportive person from what I've seen of her so I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility.

Now I'm just stuck on who the Saja Boys would be in this hypothetical? Also, who would be Gwi-Ma?

This is a rant about a thing I've seen recently, I have no idea if it's a current opinion but I saw it in such a large volume that I felt an immediate "🤢"

I saw a certain sentiment, of which only really showed up whenever Mel and Vik were being paired together or both were being hyped up, that Jayce is somehow insignificant or "not deserving"?????????????

Someone tell me if this is like, a common thought process, I don't usually interact with fandoms loudly or post consistent (a thing I'm working on) so I have no idea.

It's just.. Such a stupid take and actually I was in shock the first time I saw a group of people echo that. It just weirds me out because I view almost everyone in the show as deserving. Of what? I don't know, anything. Their humans with complex stories and even more complex surroundings. They're wrong almost the same amount of times they're right. And vice versa. So it hurts to see any character, especially Jayce, to be equated to just "some guy." If Mel is the sun and Viktor is the Moon then Jayce is the Earth! Or whatever symbolic stuff people like to do! He's just as important as them. Every character is as important as the others. Isn't half of the show that exact message??

Jayce is my favorite, but I say the same for Ekko (my other fav) , for Silco (someone to this day I personally don't necessarily like) , for Vander, for Jinx, for Vi. Sometimes even Ambessa (my dislike palpable), which I struggle with the most.
