Hmmm, how about an Hiei x S/O or his crush headcannons? Which the S/O who's a goober, like a sweet and adorable and a very romantic one (overdramatic one...) And like thinking that the S/O is like tall (like I guess 5'10 or smth idk 😅) and he's a smol angry demon man like he doesn't know why he dated/developed feelings for a human that's like this but secretly loves them (I just love the opposite attract and tall and small dynamics xD)

oooooh i love this idea!! i decided to do both (starts off as a crush then he becomes a lover) and ngl i kind of took the enemies to lovers route with this one since i feel like it fits his character more. i also decided to go with the "goofy but very strong character" trope with the s/o because honestly? why not lol.

i surprisingly had a lot of fun writing this and it got longer than expected, he's a little ooc in some parts but eh it's not that big of a deal tbh.

tw: injuries, reader almost dies at one point, brief mention of reader having trauma,

lets be real, hiei found you annoying at first, not as annoying as kuwabara but damn near close.

when you were going to fight he didn't have much hope in you, you would probably die in under a second knowing your nature, but as soon as you put in work it almost made his jaw drop.

how he developed feelings for you was at that very moment, he doesn't realize it until much later.

the way his stomach gets this thing called "butterflies" when he's near you, he doesn't move away or threaten you when you get near or touch him (he did at first threatening to rip your arm off) but then he can't help but grow hot... uncomfortably hot.

he's thinking you put him under some type of spell, why does he feel this way? especially over a human? sure, you show courage, sure, you fight well, but guaranteed that there are others who do as well...

but then he comes to the realization, he's never met a demon that has ever made him feel this way.

and a certain red head can see right through it.

kurama eventually asks hiei if something is wrong, but hiei states that he's fine, it takes a bit of time to convince the fire demon to come clean, that something is wrong with him, whilst he was ranting, kurama was listening.. and then he came to the realization.. hiei had a crush on you.

when kurama tells him, he denies it, saying that you were just some annoying human, and that he doesn't have crushes or has the time for a relationship, but kurama knows all of that is a lie, he likes you, and him denying everything just makes things worse.

it was made very clear that this information was kept between the two demons, and eventually, hiei would have to tell you.

some time passes by and you manage to get into a scuffle, you end up injured and hiei comes to the rescue, but tells you not to think of it too deeply.

you don't say anything, but hiei has been acting strange, it's gotten to the point where yusuke and kazuma notice, but don't say a word, it's even weirder when it's just the two of you, he's a lot more.. quiet, and noticeably kinder to you, he doesn't insult you as much anymore, other than that, things remain the same.

while your tidying up your wounds you still managed to keep a smile on your face and a sense of humor, going as far as to make fun of your loss.

hiei would've called you an idiot and told you to shut up, but he can't bring himself to do it somehow, the way you talk, your laugh, your smile, the butterflies get stronger and the blush on his cheeks start to grow darker.

damn... what's with this woman?? why is she so... so....?

it would take so much of his ego and pride to just man up and admit that he likes you, he's not good with words unless it's telling people off (he gets better with this, i promise).

eventually, you got into another fight, and your opponent was tough, so tough in fact you almost die fighting, and you ended up passing out for hours upon hours, the team thought you would die.

hiei put on his cold front as usual, but on the inside he's panicking, he can't lose you, not right now at least.

when it's just him in the infirmary, he looks down at your unconscious body feeling the urge to shed a tear, your happiness is... gone, staring down at nothing but a blank face.

he hoped that you didn't die, he made sure that when you wake up, he'll tell you that he likes you... though it's easier said than done, it'll still take a lot out of him.

eventually he gets in a vulnerable state, kurama yet again see's him, noticing that he's shaking, sitting in the grass at the edge of a cliff, staring into the sunset.

they talk for a while, kurama eventually convinces him that if he can't just flat out tell her, he could just write her a note, and even better, give her a gift.

but what would she even like?

he heard in passing with your talk with his sister, yukina, that you really liked cupcakes (im sorry if you don't like cupcakes just try to imagine it's like some other desert), so, he gets some cupcakes.. from somewhere... somehow... and writes you a letter about how he wants you to be his mate.

and when you say yes.. you're locked in.. forever.

eventually you do wake up, find the cupcake next to the table and eat it, noticing the note and reading over it, it comes to you almost as a shock... hiei? likes you? no way, this has to be some type of elaborate prank.

you do end up seeing hiei, who can't even look at your face, i mean you have to admit.. he's cute, a cute little short guy, while you're taller than him by some inches, he doesn't seem to mind this, he knows he's stronger than you, height doesn't mean jack shit to him.

and so, you accept his request, and now, the two of you are officially dating! or at least that's what you think and he wants.

at first, nothing changes, he's still a tad bit nervous around you, he ordered that there should be no pda in front of the team, he's not ready to tell everyone yet.

when you two are alone, he still had barriers up, not feeling the most comfortable with you yet, the two of you talk and get to know each other, realizing that the reason you were the way you were was because of your trauma, so you masked it with humor.

it takes a while for the two of you to be more intimate (not sexual), holding hangs, hugging, kissing, of course when there wasn't anyone around.

the only person he trusts in regards of knowing about the relationship is kurama and mukuro, no one else.

it takes him a bit to admit that he definitely loves his s/o, and you might've been one of the best things that has happened to him.

Jin - MC had to deliver some papers to the captian of Frosthiem requested by one of the staff. It wasn't anything that they weren't used to doing, this seems like to be a normal thing that they do. MC made it to the snowy parts of the school and walked inside the building in search of Jin. They assumed that he would be in his room because let's face it. They gave the usual three knocks on the door and no answer? Did he not hear them? Or did they knock too softly? Maybe they should just give a peek inside... "Excuse me" MC says as they opened the door before the sight unfolded at their eyes. Jin was gripping Tohma from behind as he had the man bent over the arm of the chair. MC was stunned which caused the two men to pause their actions as MC dropped the papers and scurried away. The next day, MC got a message from the Frosthiem captain to come to the room, therefore he gave a cold look before throwing some cash at MC to not say a word... If they do... MC didn't take the cash ( better than me TBH) but they did promise to not speak about it.

Tohma - Tohma was just enjoying his time with Jin on the couch. He was on the edge before MC walked in. "Ack! Jin! They walked in"! Jin stopped and looked before glancing at Tohma. " No they aren't".

"I can see them right there"!

Jin sighed and grabbed his glasses ( I don't know what it is called-) and threw it to the side. "Now you can't".

MC was already gone at this point.

Lucas + Kaito - MC was trying to find someone to hang out with. They thought about their duo friends who are at Frosthiem. They walked in and went to one of the rooms to hope and find at least one of them. They did knock but then there was thud - Did something happen?! In worry, MC opened the door and saw Kaito on the floor who was butt naked and Lucas who was on the bed, pulling the covers up the cover himself for being indecent. "M-MC! It is not what it looks like" Kaito screamed as looked very embarrassed.

MC just stares at them and let's out a small sigh. "Can't believe you guys didn't invite me"..

What did they say -?!

Mido - He and Tohma were out in the car doing it with each other. MC was being chased by some Vagastorm students for some reason? They don't even know them selves - but they were hiding in the car and apparently neither Tohma and Mido noticed since they started to kiss and get heated right while MC was hiding in the back in the trunk ( since I like to think the car would have that open trunk behind the back seats)

Sho + Leo - MC was hungry, it has been some time since they have come to Sho's Food Truck. They hoped that he was still open, they were cutting it kind of close. It was late in the day so they had counts that Sho was still open. But to their stories the lights inside the truck were still on? That is strange. They assume Sho would have left by now or at least started closing. MC got closer but that is when they started to hear some pants and groaning. It was coming behind the food truck, was it an anomaly?! They quickly took a peek and let out a short gasp before covering their mouth.

Sho, who was inches deep inside the smaller boy, stopped all movements. "Leo... Is someone there"?

Leo on the other hand, with his stigma , heard everything and knew exactly who it was. He just smirked a little. "You are just paranoid Shohei.. I told you it's late and no one will come around ~ Now keep going "~

Sho groaned as he started moving again with the sound of the skin hitting each other.

MC was frozen in place in front of the food truck, all of a sudden they weren't hungry. Quickly as quietly they made their walk back to their room.

Ren - He was having a one night stand with Leo since the two don't really know exactly but they know enough to have sex with one another. They didn't get too far in, all they got was their shirts off and they were making out on Ren's bed.

It didn't last long since MC walked in the room due to Haru asking them to look for Ren to work around the dorm. There they walked in onna sight of Leo and Ren -

"Damn not again"... Leo grumbled.

"I'm sorry.... AGAIN"?!

Haru + Towa - MC was in Jabberaock since they heard there was a new mission for them and that they needed to tag along. As they were walking along they heard some grunting. Assuming it was animals who were fighting outside, they knew Haru would get upset if he saw it. So they went to the garden to break it up - only to find that it was just Towa and Haru doing it in the garden

Haru's eyes opened in shock and was flushed at the face. "M-M-MC!! IT'S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE I SWEAR!! I mean it is... I AM SO SORRY YOU HAD TO SEE THIS"!!

Towa did stop and pause for s second while he looked at MC, but he wasn't done with Haru so he started to love again.

"TOWA! DON'T MOVE"!

Ritsu - He had one secret and one alone, he doesn't wish to share it with anyone. He has a whole collection of action figures from when he was a kid. No one really knows about this -

"Ritsu, you asked to see me"?

MC came in and Ritsu fumbled and dropped his action figure on the bed, thankfully that didn't damage to figure.

"Awwwh"!

"Please pretend you didn't see anything"...

Romeo + Taiga - MC was kind of scared to go inside the room already. There were papers that needed to be delivered from the casino workers to Romeo.. But as he stood outside the office, they could clearly hear that Taiga and Romeo were doing something.... Romeo was definitely not quiet.

It got to the moment where the noises stopped. They were sure to wait before they knocked on the door.

"Who the hell is there"..?

"I-Its just me".. MC said as they opened the door thinking it meant for them to come in.

THEY SURE AS HELL AREN'T DONE??? Romeo was head first into the desk with Taiga gripping his hair as he was pants off fucking his Lulu~

"Who the hell are you"?

"I am sorry! I thought you were done "?

Taiga smirked. "So you were listening"~

Romeo sat up . "YOU BTH WTF DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING GTFO"!!!

Hotorubi threesome - MC missed having time with the three. It's been a minute since they got to try Haku's snacks, making conversation with Subaru, and they also strangely missed Zenji's music. Maybe they could go and surprise them. They walked through the rainy scenery and walked into the building. As they approaches Subaru's room, they can hear that he was crying? What happened? MC slowly opened the door. "S-Subaru are you okay"..?

Subaru was fine. He was just having Haku inches deep inside and Subaru was sobbing in need. But with the door open, he noticed someone walked in and it was the Honor Roll of all people?!

"Z-Zenji! T-The Honor Roll is here"!?

Haku(?) Turned towards MC and suddenly a naked Zenji ghost came out of Haku's body. "Hello dear! What a surprise"! Zenji said cheerfully as he spread his arms our showing off all his goods~

Haku seemed dazed but the moment until then he noticed MC was standing right there! He apologized in a bashful manner.

Lyca + Subaru - MC was doing their following to Subaru like they did before but instead of meeting like they met Lyca for the first time. They watched as Subaru started to undress in front of the prison bars and pressed his ass against the bars. The shadow of Lyca came into view already taking off his pants and presses against the bars to slide himself inside from the gaps between the bars.... How lewd -

"MC what are you doing here"..? Haku whispered as he surprised MC which caused the other to come out of hiding from the surprise... Which lead how to Subaru having to introduce Lyca and how he goes into heat..

Rui x Edward - Gosh.... MC needs a drink.. They craved something from Rui's bar.. They wondered if they would be able to get a drink. They went to the bar and walked around. There were some other sounds... A mix of moans and growls? Curious, they went downstairs. MC was shown the plants collection before and where it was at so getting it was easy. What if the plants were out of control...

MC wasn't sure if they should have seen this... Edward was arched on his stomach as the anomaly plant was pressing its vines into Edward's hole and Rui was laying on the ground with a condom on his "pp" that was also inside of Edward? This was hella freaky --- Was this what the drinks were made out of? Doesn't seem like Ed or Rui noticed - now MC can't drink anything here no more... Don't worry the drinks aren't made from that -

Yuri + Jiro - MC got a message that Yuri needed them to be his lab assistant, he said that they needed to come now! MC rushed over as fast as they could and they entered the Lab and stopped when they saw Jiro sitting on the lab table and was holding Yuri's legs up as he was moving Yuri up and down on him.

Yuri was getting teary eyes as he was moaning while he whimpering. "H-Hurry this new work needs this... You know... Someone needs to catch it"... !

"AND YOU CALLED ME?! "

I enjoyed the small detail of Roland being amused when Eddie put his hat on, but hiding it - Gotham's costumed criminals manage to be scary, but also ridiculous, and it has to be a strange experience for their victims tbh. It's objectively frightening, but you also recognize how absurd this is and how goofy that hat is - and how one is supposed to feel with that or react? it kinda humanized Roland to me a bit.

I appreciate the themes of the riddles and the thought put into it, Eddie sending messages through every detail~.

There's a ton of strange things going on with this show, including using parodies (namely the Terminator for "Stand By Your Pac-Man" and The Wizard of Oz for "The Wizard of Odd".

All it does is aid to the already large filler that no one (or close to it) particularly needed. Not to mention the crass jokes that started showing up as early as episode 2.

So here's my question: What made you stay in the Fandom after the shows untimely cancelation? Was it for the memes and shitposts that people made off It? Or was it for the idea that, in a way, it had more potential to it?

Personally it's both the former and latter, but I've always wanted to know what made someone stay in this weird phase of Pac-Man history

That's a loaded question XD

First, I must acknowledge that my answer is only one perspective out of many. Other fans may have varying reasons for why they stayed in the fandom.

So, as for me?

I'm a simple person. I'm easily entertained :)

It's the little things that I am drawn to. Not the crass/toilet humour, of course, but I like the little design details and how the main trio looks out for each other, and some of the funny shenanigans that the ghosts end up in. I can block out/ignore the poorly done bits and genuinely enjoy the rest of it that was fun to watch.

I really don't mind the amount of parodies, I think each of them at least had something that was still relevant to the story - Stand By Your Pac-Man set the stage for Apex's reveal (in that the Pacinator revealed it was someone else who completely wiped out the yellows, however brief the reveal may be), and while Wizard of Odd was more filler than anything else, I still found enjoyment in it and we got a bit of lore on other parallel dimensions being a thing in the universe. The one parody episode I can think of that was 100% filler and probs unnecessary was Rip van Packle.

I'll admit, PMATGA is not the best show nor can I pretend that it's as great as other stories I'm interested in, like The Chronicles of Narnia or HTTYD. Whenever new people ask me what shows I'm interested in, I make a big effort not to mention PMATGA lmao. It's a guilty pleasure, simple as that.

To be honest, it was neither the memes nor the wasted potential that I stayed for (trust me, 15-year-old me was actually quite miffed about people dissing my favourite show at the time XD).

I stayed because I had sort of build up my own sets of fanons and theories of the show that I could latch onto, and build up upon for years to come, because the characters of this show are surprisingly good to use as a foundation for bigger and more epic stories, sort of like that one meme where the world you created in your head about the show is better than the show itself lol. I guess that did stem out of the show's wasted potential.

And, well, hyperfixation is a thing, innit? That definitely played a small role in why I stayed.

Over the years my interest in the show did wean a little, and up until the beginning of the year, I had been entirely inactive in the fandom. Perhaps I did lose interest in the show then. But I didn't lose interest in the fan stories I've come up with in the meantime. I guess that's the biggest reason why I stayed - I started something with my fanfics, and I've spent a lot of time building up their plots, so much so that to just leave it all now would feel wrong. Especially since I still get enjoyment out of them.

It ends up being a domino effect in and of itself tbh, because as I write more for the fanfics that I refuse to abandon, the more stories and fan content I come up with, and so the drive continues for as long as it's capable of doing so.

Oh, God. Loads, too many to list. Tolkien is currently at the top of the list, and I'm also deep in the extended Jacobite Literary Universe. :D Generally, my fandoms tend to have some sort of historical and/or fantasy setting.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Amo, Amas, Amat (NATM, Jedediah/Octavius) Slightly Scandalous (NATM, Jedediah/Octavius) Kindred Spirits (Ghosts, Captain/Thomas) Reality Bites (NATM, Jedediah/Octavius) Poetry Slam (NATM, Jedediah/Octavius)

My NATM fics are still my most popular ones by a country mile. I still get almost daily kudos on all of them, which is somewhat bamboozling, given that they're pretty old, very short, and there's been a lot more NATM fic written since then. But it is nice that folks are still finding them and reading them. :D

Then there's that random Ghosts one in there, too!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yeah, almost always. I like to let readers know I appreciate their feedback, and it's fun to flail about our favourite characters and ships. Though right now, I have to admit that I have a bit of a backlog of comments that I need to respond to. But I'll get there. :S

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I've written a few, but possibly Nunc Dimittis, which is about Morgoth sending Sauron away at the final fall of Angband. It ends with Sauron feeling the moment that Melkor is taken captive, then later, when he's cast into the Void, and realising he's now truly alone. That fic was entirely Dark Lord angst. :P

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Oof, a fairly tough one. I'm quite big on giving my ships happy endings, wherever possible. But I'll go with A Few Good Years to Spend, because that whole fic was an exercise in giving Andreth and Aegnor a happy ending. But I very much liked the final scene, with Andreth growing old and Aegnor as totally, utterly besotted with her as ever. It also had them all surrounded by the various kids of the House of Bëor, and Aegnor being the confirmed favourite, and the image was cute. :3

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not really. I did get one really weird comment on a fic, which was basically a diatribe against the POV character. But it had nothing to do with the actual fic, it was about the character in the canon, and it seemed like it was part of some larger screed had just been c+p'd from some other site. Very strange.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yeah, every so often. I wish I wrote more tbh, because I'm a pervy wee hobgoblin. I've never even written an f/f scene or a proper threesome. So far, all my smut has been fairly tame, but I'd like to try my hand at some more kinky stuff at some point. ;)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yeah, when inspiration strikes. I don't know about the craziest, but I think the daftest must definitely be And Long Would Mandos Hold Him, where Death from Horrible Histories meets Saeros from The Children of Húrin and is, naturally, delighted. That one was a riot to write. XD

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge, but fuck, who knows. The internet is huge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

A few times, into Chinese and Russian.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not really, not if you mean both of us writing. I think the closest I've come so far was when I collaborated with peasina for last year's Pod_Together, which involves teaming up to create both a written fic and a podfic version of the same. It was a really fun experience, coming up with ideas for a story together, and interesting, because it's the first time I've ever written a story specifically intended to be read aloud, so it was something to keep in mind all the time I was writing. The end result was A (Confirmed) Knight Bachelor: written version here and pod version here. I really enjoyed doing this one! :D

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

God, I don't know. I have no idea how to gauge that.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

ahahahaha... oh God, right now, it feels like all of them. XD

But really... sadly, probably the Legolas/Gimli post-LOTR fic I started. Honestly, I think the fact it was looking to end up as a multi-chapter affair kind of scared me from the get-go. Then I wrote myself into a knot trying to work out Legolas and Thranduil's dynamic immediately after the War of the Ring. No doubt it's the sort of thing that could be easily worked out with a bit of tinkering, but I got discouraged and ended up shoving the whole fic on the back-burner, where it's like to stay. :[

(Of course, talking about it inevitably makes me want to open it up and have another crack at it. But realistically, I don't think I'll ever finish it.)

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I do character voices pretty well, and in book fandoms, I think I can usually pull off a decent pastiche of the style. And on a good day, I think I can do good descriptive prose.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Fucking plots, how do they work??? On a bad day, I think my prose is overdone and pedantic: too fussy.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It can definitely add something - authenticity, atmosphere - but should also be used with caution. Writing is all about communication, after all, and if you start writing whole screeds of conversation in a language that you're not guaranteed your target audience will understand, you're not serving the story, just trying to show off. Economy is the key, I think. I also usually include a translation, either as an endnote, or as a hover-over caption.

lol technically, I think it must be historical RPF. I used to write wee stories about the historical peeps I was obsessed with at the time.

Today I wanna do a little promotion to this little fic of mine:

Of greed, horror and love

Also known as the alien au xD.

I'm bad with promo tweets and everything, so I just gonna rant for a bit. This fic is about a alien race called tlic, who are a kind of giant worms who use human teenagers as hosts for their eggs. Sadly, not in a sexy way. Is not mine, the original is from a short story called Bloodchild, in the words of her author (Octavia Butler) is history about love, losing the childhood and paying rent in a strange world.

I've been fascinating with it for years and years and years and I always wanted to simply explore more of it, I wanted to know how that society came to be and since I'm so deeply... terrified of pregnancy as a concept, but Octavia made me think about it, I just wanted to... scratch the itch. Feed my hyperfixation. I don't even remember why I decided to start this with bingqiu, tbh, it just started one day (almost a year ago) and when I finished the bingqiu chapter I was like "i want more". And I started a second chapter.

The first chapter is about love. Or me trying to get what Octavia said about love, because for me, it need to be mutual in some way. So bingqiu is easy to write about love. But still horror, because Bloodchild is horrific in a way, and I didn't want to erase that.

The second chapter is about xenophobia, actually. In the original story, Gan was the boy paired with T'Gatoi, the tlic, and he loved her. Like, I know I'm kind of weird in how I'm kind of a "If it's not canon, then it's just friends." most of the time but idk, xD I REALLY care about my friends so with the "Friends don't look at each other like that", I'm confused as "I look at friends like that? and there's nothing romantic about it??? What type of friends do you have if you don't look at each other like that???"

And with Menelaus and Odysseus, they're so fun to write about as they're different in personality but they understand each other. I love them both as they're so similar but so different and lksdj (idk I talk about it more here.) Both being hurt by one another with Odysseus' "I pretended to be mad to not help" and Menelaus having the war in the first place, they're hurt but also are thinking "...I would have done the same if I was in your position." As their wives and children are the most important to them. And they both know that while they care about each other,

"You're my dearest friend but my family will always come before you. I don't feel bad about trying to dodge the draft." "Ditto. I don't feel bad about dragging you to help me. Let's go cuddle and cry."

And they get comfort by knowing the other understands that. They both need their time to ramble and cry about their loves and kids. As they ARE lonely and scared. Friendship isn't less meaningful than a romantic/sexual relationship. I also have them as friends since before they got married so their friendship goes way back as well.

I weirdly think there's this sexualization of these guys (especially from Americans tbh) as there's a lot of heavy emphasis on romance in American culture and "touch and deep connection is only reserved for lovers". Odysseus specifically is sexualized a LOT by the fandom. NGL, that kind of gives me Ick™ considering he's a victim of rape eventually, how sexualized he is. Characterize him like that if you want but possibly look into WHY you have that as well. Make sure it's not because of what he went through because I think some creators do that unintentionally.

Personally, I already see Odysseus as not really being into sex in general (I've mentioned before but he's ace CODED in my stuff. He's Penromantic/Pensexual lol) so everything is extremely platonic for him.

Like I sometimes get worried about scenes I wanna write because "will readers make this weird?" when that's not my intention at ALL.

Odysseus' straining voice hurled itself at him as he was now yelling in Menelaus' face. A baby's wail echoed throughout the camp. The loud little lungs of Greater Ajax's young son, Eurysaces, cried out as he was awoken by loud yelling… The two fathers instinctively whipped towards the sound, stunned still. Odysseus' face, twisted up in anger as tears gushed from his eyes, went slack. The shadow of a woman in the torchlight moved throughout the tent a ways away. Picking up her child, soothing him… It's been so long since Menelaus' has seen his children. Their children. Hermione was 9 and Megapenthes was 5 when Helen was kidnapped. Menelaus used to be able to pick them both up in his arms, lifting them alternatively as they laughed and asked to be taken higher…She was 13 and he was 9 now… Could he still do that? A bush of red-brown pressed against Menelaus' chest, curtaining Odysseus' face as he looked down. "I miss my baby…" he whimpered, leaning on him. The Palamedes situation is more complex than this (it's definitely not black and white) but it's a big emotional moment. :')

In an absolutely shocking turn of events, Alina!!! I'm enjoying the hell out of her arc in season 2. The quest for power, the antagonism with the Darkling, the unwavering support for women's rights AND women's wrongs she displays <3. Look, I think the show is mid as fuck, but as a lead? I appreciate her! Lots!

Baghra. You guys only love redemption arcs when they fit into your heterosexual "power" fantasies and it shows lol. Give me horrid old women making amends and looking cool as hell while they're at it.

Genya. I would kill for her. Sidenote: she's the only character that made a bit of an impact when I read the first book yeaaaaaars ago. Everyone else made me feel potently indifferent or mildly irritated lol.

Zoya. She seems to have bypassed prop girl syndrome and I'm glad for that, I really really like her. I love her dynamic with Nina and the love vs. duty exchange. I don't like how this show writes romances tbh, but maybe on different hands or if some miracle ocurred, I think I could dig Zoya falling in love in a way that both personifies and violates that duty akshsjsjdn.

I do like Nina, Inej, and Jesper (who was my season 1 fave), but boy, do I dislike their romantic plots with a passion xD. I'd say Nina, who gets to shine more (something I'm sure has nothing to do with her separation from Matthias!!) has the edge this time. Alternatively, Tamar, on the basis that she's SUPER HOT and I'm in love with her.

As for least favourite... the Darkling is pathetic to me and although I'm enjoying his plot in that way, his stans are infuriating. On the othe hand, I enjoy nothing about Kaz (except his interactions with Nina, strangely lol), and I find Kaz stans/Kanej shippers even MORE aggravating so. Kaz it is xD

Van Helsing! Which I wrote a little for back in 2010, and . . . never again. XD (I cleaned up one of the bits from back then earlier this year and posted it, first thing I ever have for the fandom; I don't know if there's anything else salvageable - or, rather, that I feel like reworking. XP)

BUT that process did make me think about it again, and I rewatched the movie (still excellent; I love Roxburgh's Dracula to bits, he's so fucking strange and Extra and delightful), more than once, and. . .

Mates and Memories is a WIP that is for a Small Fandom Fest prompt (which I obviously missed this round, whoop; perhaps I'll get it done for a future round? X'D), left in 2012.

The general premise is that Dracula isn't dead, and Van Helsing is still a werewolf, post-canon (prompt left open 'writer's choice how'), and at some point under a full moon, looking for his mate. . .

(I have also done entirely too much research for this; I have scrutinised forestry maps, elevation maps, conservation records, and a handful of other things for this very important background setting information for Van Fucking Helsing monster smut. Hello, it me, I am Like This.)

My spin for that 'how' is that as Van Helsing isn't exactly human to begin with, he wasn't quite a proper werewolf, either - which means a) the cure didn't work on him properly, and b) Dracula was ripped to hell harder than anything else could manage, but not actually killed.

Also, as a still-somewhat-werewolf . . . Van Helsing isn't going back to the Vatican. For some reason. Fast-forward to winter, and wolf mating season, and. . . >.> (Featuring monsterfucking, some dubcon on both sides tbh, Dracula being his Very Dramatically Extra Self (he is such fun to write, FYI), and hints at the History between Van Helsing and Dracula.)

Gabriel swallowed, then licked his teeth, remembering the feeling of that flesh tearing beneath his teeth, muscle flexing as Dracula fought him.

‟You let me.” Gabriel said, rather than any of the other dozen things that wanted to spill from his lips.

Dracula looked . . . taken aback. Just for a moment. Then he laughed again, head falling back, and Gabriel tugged his legs in, frowning.

‟Ah, Gabriel.” Dracula grinned at him. ‟You never disappoint.” He paused, then arched his brows. ‟In any way, my old . . . friend.”

‟Friend.” Gabriel repeated. ‟I tried to kill you. I thought I had. How are you still alive?” he demanded.

Dracula rolled his shoulders. ‟You did kill me, once, Gabriel. Is that not enough for you? My, my.” His smile turned sharp, though his fangs were still hidden.

i really do love knowing that my writing has made it to the audience it's meant for tbh. like of course it's meant for anyone who wants to read it, and i'm always thrilled to pieces no matter what to hear that something i've written was enjoyed or was meaningful to someone it's like. this is WHY i wrote it yknow, and why i needed stories like it, etc. means a lot :')

Oooooh more questions from the ask meme super happy to answer! A few of these are duplicated from the ones I answered yesterday and also another one in the inbox so I will talk a little more about them :D

1.) "Do you tend to exaggerate belly size or capacity? If so, how far from realism do you like to stray?"

I stray far away from realism tbh like with size I struggle to get belly sizes exactly how my mind pictures them (mainly because my art skills arent the best so I have a harder time getting them to look the way I picture them) but I am not really into the hyper side of things drawing wise I prefer to keep it big enough that its a nice round tum but also depending on the character sit differently on them like with Emile being as short and small framed as he is he defo carries big and I tend to try to make him a little bigger than say Eddie (though its quite tricky cause again my art style!) But it's fun to be able to try out new things and hopefully get stuff conveyed the best I can! As for capacity I am UNREALISTIC to say the least XD

A lot of my characters preg wise have some very strange anatomy allowing for multiple pregnancies (multiple wombs, wombs with segmented sections each able to carry a different pregnancy etc.) Tbh I just kinda go with what feels fun and like even when I have just a regular set up its still pretty unrealistic but that's what makes it so fun! Stuffing wise Eddie is the only character I dabble in that with and he defo can eat a lot more than it looks like he can and he deeply regrets it with the issues with his digestive system as a whole on his build sometimes a big capacity makes it a lot trickier especially as preg as he is!

11.) "Do you have any favorite words or phrases relating to the belly?"

I answered this one yesterday but why not expand upon it a little bit more cause I do have more things I love to say with regards to bellies XD I love "egg laden" when it comes to ovi just the sound of it in my head when I read it out makes me imagine just how many eggs a fella is carrying the words " gravid middle" put together for me are also a HUGE soft spot I love that and I tend to see it more so nowadays and it makes me happy just it's such a nice term and it's so much fun to put it in writing too!

A weakness and something I adore is when a character exclaims "I'm so pregnant.." just my goodness that is such an absolute delight to think about like its so cute to imagine a character just really really heavy with whatever it is and declaring that to themselves or even a partner and being embarrassed by it idk its cute!

And honestly nothing beats the word heavy when describing belly like its a simple word but it can help get that imagery in your head to pop especially combining it with how a character waddles about being so full of whatever they are carrying its just really fun! (I spend a lot of time thinking about these things tbh so I probably sound silly XD lol)

14.) "Are your characters into the kink themselves, or are they just unwitting vehicles for it?"

Oooh this is a fun one!!

Emile is definitely into pregnancy as a kink (speciifically himself being pregnant) he will never ever admit to this or own up to it if questioned but like based on what he does for his career and also his on the side pregnancy modeling stuff he absolutely is into it! Plus being as he is also a surrogate for various cryptid/monster/etc. while learning about them and spending time understanding their various cultures and stuff for his writing he can indulge in all the pregnancy traditions that all of these creatures practice while also being able to enjoy his own growing form as it goes on though he wont admit that part of it XD It also is sorta just a default state for him as he has some pretty tricky lore with his permanent pregnancy and embracing that enjoyment of pregnancy also helped him kind of in a way come to terms with the situation he is in with that particular pregnancy because he is always going to be pregnant in some way shape or form and him enjoying it makes it more comforting for him! Also when Emile models he may not like promote that part of his life but he is always fond when he gets reviews that say his photos are nice even if he will deny its him when his stream chat claims to have seen them XD Emile is kinda just a big dork in this aspect honestly <3

Eddie is DEFINITELY unwitting in both cases of stuffing and pregnancy. He never knew he was the type of android he is and so his pregnancy was quite the shock to him and he adamantly denies it and when his egg laying cycles started to kick in alongside it well that just made it alllll the more tricky and worse ;v; He does grow to love his babies after a long while but he will never admit to his pregnancy and struggles with it as he gets bigger and as he has to try and cover for it more and more. The stuffing aspect is the same it ties into the pregnancy too because he started up the lie that he was gaining quite the tummy because he adores food and loves to eat and it leads him into all sorts of scenarios where he has to keep up that front so he will eat even if he doesn't exactly want to while knowing he will have some tricky times in the future when it comes to digesting all that food and just how active his babies get from the energy that eventually goes to them when he does digest! Eddie is the type that if his pregnancy became brought to attention even with someone he is close with he would be far too flustered to find the kink in it just embarrassed and trying to hide it but also in time who knows he might warm up to it with the right person!

15.) "Do you have any favorite belly tropes or scenarios in general?"

Tbh when it comes to belly stuff I am honestly not super sure what counts as tropes honestly lol But like maybe first kicks or just noticing the growth of the tum could count because I do love those a lot! Also in stuffing cases a character being too full but making up excuses that awww one more bite cant hurt is another I love I just find it cute <3 Scenarios though whooo doggy I love so many XD But one I will highlight here is just surprise pregnancy like a character just thinks they are putting on weight but nope its a surprise monster pregnancy or something like that idk that scenario has always been one I really enjoy! Like just the character having to figure it out and learn what is going on and what their reaction would be is fun like because the possibilities are almost endless with what can be done in that scenario :3

Yea i like writing or at least the idea of writing. It is happening slowly.

it's about a detective (Jihae) and her sidekick (Pasha). Jihae hates magic, which is a new and strange discovery by one Hope Green. (Magic can do cool asplodes you things so its understandable i suppose). Jihae is also convinced Hope is planning something, as the general public do not, as yet, know about the asplodes you properties! So mysteries! (Jihae is maybe a bit too convinced though.)

So, recently I opened up renpy, loaded my main script file, and wrote the entirety of my second chapter! Wow!! And today i said "hm I do want to finish this thing Eventually" and opened vim to work on my Third Ever Chapter.

... i am not sure what should be in my Third Ever Chapter. Well, I *do* have a loose plot I wrote out back when I was working on the first chapter (theres a lot going on lol) but its VERY loose.

See, in my head, the story is mostly ch1 - ??? - ch End - profit. The ??? Needs filled in so that the end makes sense! Obviously I have a plot and some ideas, since I already planned it out, it's just... not very detailed, at all. Especially for the second and third chapters...

Part of the problem is that I've already cut down on the Story Events by a LOT - if I take out these chapters I feel like I'll be losing out on some important character moments that inform later events... but on the other hand, somehow i feel my writing is very sparse as it is, so maybe there's not that much to lose?

I'll probably just sit down & write some kind of first draft anyways - the more time that passes, the more I just want the project to be done already, and technically I've hardly even started! XD

So, I'll let this blog maybe motivate me to put in a real commitment. & try to post more while I'm at it!

Do you have any works where you refuse to reach a certain relationship landmark, for one reason or another?

Huh. This is kind of a strange question- I mean, I think when I start writing something, I have a pretty good idea of where I want things to end up. So if I'm not choosing to get to a certain "landmark" it's because it just wasn't right for the narrative, not because I'm choosing not to go "that far". I guess I don't often write about characters having children, either because it's not write for the story at the time/doesn't make sense, or I'm not interested in inventing some just for the sake of it. I don't have a problem with children and babies being in stories- I love to include Ellie in Spideypool stories when it makes sense, and I like the idea that Peter would be good with her.

Are there any relationship dynamics/tropes you want to write in the future, but haven't yet?

Ah, so- I have a little idea simmering in a pot. It's certainly one of those, "If no one else is gonna write it I guess I have to do it!" kind of things- that's *sort* of an enemies to lovers thing? More of a rivals to lovers thing, but also with plenty of misunderstanding and identity shenanigans, so there's plenty of familiar things for me to pla with as well.

Are there any relationship dynamics/tropes you enjoy reading about, but wouldn't want to write yourself? Vice versa?

To answer the latter question first, I don't really spend my time writing anything I wouldn't want to read. The closest I have come is writing fills for other people in events that are maybe not my setting/plot of choice, but it's still going to be tailored to my tastes, otherwise there's just no way it would get done. As far as tropes I like reading but wouldn't write? Hum. I don't mind a little bit of a sharper edge of cruelty/ adversarial nature in earlier chunks of a story that can get worked out as the story progresses, but I think I have a hard time channeling that myself, so I mostly worry it would fall flat. I dunno, I'm kind of a never say never person for this sort of thing.

Are there any songs that remind you of [clarified in DMs to be mattfoggy]? Are there any songs that remind them of each other?

I was kinda in my feels about "Heather" by Conan Gray while making a playlist a while back, which I think would be a decent pick if you were trying to make a mix about some serious pining, and it could probably go either way tbh. I have also been reading a lot of the older DD comics lately (80's ish I think?) where Matt is literally involved with a Heather, and Foggy and Natasha (yes, that Natasha) conspire to break them up. It all goes very poorly! Especially for poor Heather.

"I'll Still Have Me" is another song that hits me just right, and I think it's the kind of song that would have Foggy SOBBING during S3 (or y'know, any of those periods when Matt is faking his death or whatever.)

What's your favorite relationship dynamic that you've seen in another work of fiction? Has this influenced your writing at all?

I don't think I got terribly involved in shipping until, oh, college or maybe even a little after that. I consumed a lot of media that I think is popular for ships (Sailor Moon, read GO in high school, other various 90's anime, comic books) but I was always pretty content to accept whatever relationship was presented on screen or not really think about it much at all. But one of my long-time friends and I first bonded over X-Men and the buddy relationship between Wolverine and Nightcrawler, and a few years later he showed me the tanker chapter to Metal Gear Solid 2, telling me "I think you're going to like these two guys" because of my penchant for buddy bro relationships. At the time I was content to be like, "YEAH WHAT GOOD BROS" but obviously that didn't last. XD Since then, nearly all of my ships have followed the pattern of friends-to-lovers, and obviously that shows up a lot in my writing and art. (Although weirdly, while I totally GET Logan/Kurt as a ship, it just doesn't do anything for me.)

Oh gosh. Well, I recently wrote a stupidly fluffy little fic for a friend called, "Keep It Simple" which is a very silly college MattFoggy story about Matt struggling to confess his feelings to Foggy while Foggy does everything he can to... help him confess. (It makes sense in context, I promise, haha.) That was a fun one to write, mostly because I got to come up with lots of silly things for Foggy to say, and I love getting to write about him being a good bro.

I'm also charging ahead with a co-writer to work on "Home's Around the Corner (It's a Long Way There)" and hopefully chapter 4 will be out before too long. (You know how it is with edits.) We only had a general idea of where we wanted the story to go when we started, but as we've written more, some interesting wrinkles and turns have cropped up and I'm having a good time with it. I think the end result will be pretty satisfying all around. :3

Hiii! I hope your November was good! I have a new WIP ideas but I know absolutely nothing about it, despite desperately wanting to write it. I actually haven’t written anything for any of my WIPs since September or maybe even August. Which is maddening. Anyways, this new WIP is a very strange mix of things. It’s a high fantasy story with an all-queer cast (who I have no idea who they are yet) that has the vibes of Six of Crows mixed with a DnD campaign. Just a lot of chaos with some lovable disaster characters. I would tell you about the plot but I have no idea what that is yet either. Yeah, basically I know nothing about this WIP. But I love it anyways, lmao.

I totally get how you feel haha. Sometimes a new idea isn’t really a story but just some fun vibes, but it’s always fun to play around with what you got.

This wip idea sounds very exciting, not gonna lie! Even if there’s not much you know about it yet, the things you do know got me hooked!

Six of crows and DnD sounds like a wonderful chaotic mixture. If you ever figure out the plot and write this wip I’d love to read it! Or just hear more about it. I’m sure with a bit of time you’ll figure things out and make an amazing story out of it!

My November wasn’t all too bad, but quite stressful tbh, lots of exams and presentations for trade school and lots to do at work, so I’m glad that’s over now. The more excited I am about December finally being here though, since it’s one of my favorite months of the year!

I’m in a similar situation as you, I haven’t written anything in a while (I’d love to but I lack the energy cause I’m always tired from work xD). Most of my free time was spent watching documentaries and Barbie movies (strange mixture, I know haha).

Recently I started working through my story’s plot points though, to sort things out and hopefully continue working on my first draft soon.

Oh, and I also had a new plot idea for The Knights of the Alder! At one point my protagonist Aiden gets captured by the villain group and my brain was like “hey, wouldn’t it be interesting if he was offered to join the bad guys? If they try to manipulate him into sacrificing his brother to save his own life?”

And what can I say, my brain’s right, it would be interesting. So it’s canon now and I need to find out how to best integrate it in the story. And I’m really excited to work on the story again!
