While scavenging one day, Splinter found a book on lock picking and decided to bring it home and teach his sons the useful tool, should they be in a bad situation or need to infiltrate a secure place in a dire circumstance.

However, only Leonardo and Donatello were interested at learning— Raph liked the idea more of using brute force to break in somewhere and Mikey couldn’t sit still long enough to learn about it and was eager to go do something more fun.

The two have poured over countless books on locks and have a shared love on picking locks and timing themselves just to see how quickly one can pick a lock. Of course they turn it into a competition.

Leo likes to handle the more basic and mechanical locks and use the lock picking tools Donnie crafted for them both, whereas Donnie likes to fiddle around more with locks involving technology. It eventually gets him into hacking systems as well. They have both taught each other on their preferred locks to pick, but on missions, they like to stick to what they excel best at when they can.

can’t always be the leader

i feel like leo and donnie have a lot of hidden pressure, and even with everything else on his plate donnie would see leo needs a break and just be there for his big brother

and no this isn’t one sided- leo listens to donnie rant/vent or relieve pressure- i just think it’s sweet when younger siblings comfort the older ones

Ruby using Scarecrow's scythe and Blake using Deathstroke's bo staff and katana (and Weiss possibly using one of Captain Cold's Cold Guns) makes some sense when we see that while in the Hall of Justice they don't have weapons of any kind

they haven't arrived on Earth with their weapons, so they have to make do with stuff the League have in lockup when they're called in to action

which also explains why the weapons don't really match their aesthetics (the scythe looks more like a genuine farming implement than a weapon that fits Ruby's design, the staff has orange accents which don't match with Blake's outfit), they're just using borrowed gear because they don't have time to make their own

what do you think the strangest thing that querl likes to eat is? (maybe not weird for him, but weird to others)

The bar for that is probably pretty high, because these are his (mostly-)canon favourite foods:

My general thoughts about him and food are that he's vegan/unable to eat animal protein, often forgets to eat while working and both doesn't really care about food and doesn't like to try new foods. I also think Coluan food culture as a whole is pretty lacking and mostly consists of the sci-fi equivalent of lembas. Unseasoned, vitamin enriched sci-fi lembas. Or nutritional paste.

To actually answer the question; Aside from the canon foods I think the strangest things he eats are just simple to a strange point. He will eat an uncooked, unseasoned block of tofu like an apple if other options are more inconvenient. And wash it down with his fungi promoting juice.

Do you think Querl was ever annoyed thinking about how they gave Kon (who he hates) a flight ring but not Bart (who he developed a friendship with) one

I don't think so, because he didn't hate Kon despite their little tussle they had initially. Querl was quick to forgive him, ultimately, and accepted Kon into the ranks as a Legionnaire member. Querl just has a grumpy personality (when he is written at his best) so he comes off as having stronger opinions towards someone than he actually does.

Querl's relationship to Kon is about at the same level as his relationship was to Bart in the 90s - friendly but with some ironic teasing that didn't feel mean. Their relationship also ironically both started out with the same level of frustration but grew into something more positive.

The difference is, like you said, Kon got honorary membership with a ring (he was actually given two in total, long story) and Bart was emphatically not. We don't know still if Querl was the one who voted to allow Bart membership during the diner scene, but it's extremely likely.

Legion of Super-Heroes (1989) #88

In closing I doubt Querl really had any strong feelings about either of them having rings or membership. This version of Querl doesn't really have any strong opinion about anyone being a Legionnaire period. He himself is not even really particularly attached to being one here in this moment. He was drafted in and did not even join of his own free will, but stayed on regardless when the draft was lifted.

Also, if you are going to examine the overall situations between Kon and Bart - the Legionnaires' decisions of membership were fair and reasonable. Kon was deserving of an honorary membership at the time, and Bart was not quite ready yet. Bart might not have deserved the news delivered like... that... but he needed a little more time before was ready.

Ya know I just realized how similar Leo and Donnie are from the 12 series like-

Both of them feel a sense of duty towards their loved ones.

Both of them are prone to blaming themselves when things go wrong.

Both carry the world on their shoulders due to their responsibilities.

Both aren't good with opening up emotionally nor letting themselves be too vulnerable.

Both are prone to murdering people if there's absolutely no other choice.

Both put a shit ton of pressure on themselves when they don't need to.

Both of them are fiercely loyal and protective of the ones they love and are willing to throw themselves into the line of fire.

Both are absolute dorks in many ways especially involving the things they're passionate about.

Both are more than willing to stop everything they're doing in order to help those in need.

Both are known to show mercy when it's needed as well as kindness.

Both have had moments where they've looked up to each other in times of crisis or need.

Like there's a scary amount of similarities between these blue and purple turtles like it's honestly a bit unsettling.

Who's your second favorite Superman villain? Mine's Mxyzptlk. In terms of consistent quality, he probably beats Lex honestly, he just forces writers to be creative and fun. Elmer Fudd who thinks he's Bugs Bunny, just as weird and above Superman as he is to everyone else. He can be a nuissance, overwhelming threath, or an ally.

oooh, mxy is a good one! i definitely agree with him consistently bringing top-quality content -- he adapts especially well to animation in particular and made for some of the best s:tas episodes, and he has the added bonus of allowing writers to actually show off clark's brains, since he's an enemy that has to be outsmarted. (i also just generally love chaotic neutral villains.)

i always enjoy livewire, personally! i love her character design, and i feel like she's one of those villains that just tends to steal the scene when she shows up. she's not the biggest threat by any means, but she's fun, which is more than you can say about a lot of superman villains.

i am really loving what joshua williamson has done with silver banshee in superman (2023), too. she probably has my favorite character design of any superman villain -- at least when she's being drawn by the likes of jamal campbell -- but i don't feel like actual stories as a villain hold up as much.
